Probably a bit late for this, but I saw your art for a The Things (1982) x Bugsnax AU and the autism kicked in cause those are two of my biggest interests! Please share about it!!

um basically the two stories are very markedly similar, so i put one of the casts in the other's place... you know. the whole "group of ~12 people are trapped in a remote location and there's a parasitic entity that's trying its damnedest to subsume all of them, while also having really horrifying implications that aren't fully explored in the media" bits.

i looked into real jobs at antarctic research stations (since Bugsnax takes place closer to modern day/a grumpus-ified simulacrum of the modern day), and because of the larger cast, i decided to give them more individualised jobs that you'd directly need at a complex like the ones they have today!

plot-wise... i think Filbo would become Thinged first, but it wouldn't become apparent until much later on. i have thoughts of one/both of the Triffany/Wambus pairing being killed or Thinged or both. and i think Chandlo would try to be a hero. THIS IS VERY DARK, but it's in line with their personalities and the plot/tone of the original movie, so???

this ask also reminded me i wanted to make a colored version of the illustration, so thank you...!!!!

just rewatched jharpenter's "That Thang" this morning and looked thru the tag to find ur bugsnax au. immaculate. bunger as jed is inspired and the human designs translate sooo well i especially love how you handled the fizzlebean siblings and beffica :-]... i don't have any questions but feel free to just infodump at me it's nice

THABK YOU!!! im really happy with how it turned out :D i was thinking for the AU that either George/Gramble or Filbert/Filbo got assimilated first, maybe a la Bennings but who knows. The thing is my faaaavourite movie and the story of Bugsnax translates so so well to what happens :) im happy someone likes it!!! im really happy with the siblings & beffica too, beffica has that filipino swag forever
