YEAH ALL THE EVENTS LEADING TO THE COLLAPSE HAPPEN SO SO FAST
Iirc we see in one of the broadcasts between SRS and NSH that Spearmaster isn't on its first trip to FP, since it was the one that brought him the gold pearl before the events of its campaign. We also know that it got to return to SRS in its ending, so everything between FP getting the pearl and Moon's collapse (which is pretty much imminent according to her last broadcast) happens during Spearmaster's lifetime.
Next we got Artificer that likely is closer to Spearmaster than Hunter on the timeline considering the state of Waterfront Facility, but I don't think it's too far from Hunter either.
NSH mentions that by the time the slugcat carrying his "care package" is ready and arrives to Moon, it would already be too late. Considering it was a race against time (which I headcanon is why there was an... oversight in Hunter), I think Hunter was just in time to save Moon before she was lost for good, so I would eyeball it as closer to Artificer than Gourmand on the timeline. Justifies scavengers not liking it too.
Hunter long legs is debatably canon but considering we don't know how long a rot cyst survives while still attached to its host, I wouldn't really consider Gourmand as confirmed happening right afterwards. Moon does still remember Hunter tho so 🤔
I think you could even divide the timeline in 3 with past that happens really fast one after another (Spearmaster, Artificer, Hunter and maybe Gourmand), present which can be closer together if not pretty much instantaneous (Gourmand, Survivor and Monk) and after that we got the future which is much farther apart and shows two kinds of endings (Rivulet with the end of the iterator siblings story by reconciling them, and Saint showing the end of Rainworld).
Sorry for rambling, it just fascinates me all the "past" campaigns seem to happen so close together, there could possibly even be an overlap on the first three slugcats lifetimes, while the "future" campaigns are, in comparison, incredibly distant. It's like everything went wrong so fast for a long and agonizing death.
Hoho timeline talk. More under cut.
Yes Spearmaster is the one who delivered that gold pearl! Supported by Suns saying Pebbles was previously gentle with extracting it. It is pretty much outright said to us!
After follows Artificer! That is why there are scavs in the exterior in Spears' campaign. She's coming for pest control. Also did you know that Moon's siren is still functional during her time, even if Moon isn't? I got chills hearing it.
Hunter comes to wake up Moonie <3
I imagine our brave strawberry kitty was quite a bit after Artificer actually. All the scavs in the exterior are CLEARED and the entirety of Waterfront facility has already crumbled. It's been quite some time.
Meanwhile Gourmand is VERY close after! I mean Hunter has only what? A handful of cycles and you can actually see their body if you fail the run. RIGHT where you failed it too. Gourmand comes so close after that Moon still remembers Hunter! Which mind you her memory is awful. Gourm and Hunter are VERY close by timeline wise. I believe closer than Artificer and Hunter.
Survivor and Monk happen a little after Gourmand given all the sluggies have already been convinced to migrate (aka the tree being vacant of other scugs).
Rivulet and Saint happen a LOOOONG time appart. From like everything.
At least moon can remember all of those little kitties (except arti).
And I think it's cute. A bunch have helped her along the way.
#ask#anonymous#a little rushed so sorry if there are any spots here#im just excitable n dum <3#funky ramble dear anon ty!!#things go fast probably because their decay is pr slow#so its mostly uneventful#meanwhile the events in moons collapse are fast#so u need more campaigns to capture what happened#rain world#kiki rambles
