WOW so i just learned i might be more native than i thought
#okay okay so its a long story and i dont like mentioning it bc i am White do not get me wrong#people like to be pretentious and say oh im this percentage this#but okay. i know i have mohawk in my blood its an iroquois tribe#a tribe in northern new york right?#my stepmom just told me my mom was actually HALF mohawk??? which no one ever told me???#apparently the grandfather i never met was full mohawk and actually lived on a reservation#which makes actually a lot of sense considering how fucking poor that side of my fam was#so i may be a quarter mohawk??????? what????#i never knew my moms family and hardly knew my mom so this is new information#theyre offering to do my ancestry to find out (mostly bc they want me to get free college which is hmmm) but yeah woah#like i knew i had some mohawk in me but i thought it was so small it didnt really matter#but a quarter is kind of something actually???#might do my ancestry and find out woah#it bums me out though because im not in touch with the culture at all... blood kinda doesnt mean anything then#i would like to be more in touch with myself and my heritage if this is true#just like i needed to make the journey out to austria and meet that side of my family#wow... that just came out of nowhere#im really fucking curious now#connor talks
