and BUGSSSS!!!!!! special mention to phormia regina, the fly species i did my thesis on and just won with the presentation at this conference 💜💜 but i love moth flies they are fuzzy and so adorable, bee mimic flies and robber flies are really cool, i love caddisflies who build beautiful cases out of whatevers in their environment (so there can be sand ones, sticks, rocks, or if you put them in jewels/gold they make little jewelry pieces!!), the mantispidae family is really cool bc they look like mantises but have the same lace wings as mayflies, and i LOVEEE beetles like trogids are adorable little dirt-looking guys with cute mole-like claws and theres a million types of beautiful looking beetles in the world. i love bees a lot of course (and my childhood nickname was honeybee :)) i dont like regular cockroaches, but i think sand and hissing cockroaches are cute, and i think their order name (blattodea) is fun :) oh also look up videos of cheese skipper maggots if theyre feeding on smth and you disturb it they will jump out its so cool
