1. It’s also really annoying because of how the wrath is walked back, it’s basically Rachel telling her young female audience they shouldn’t stand up for themselves or get angry even when it’s completely justified, and even later with her maiming Minthe it’s only “ok” because it was to defend hades and because she was feeling especially horny for him just then. It’s just aggravating it markets itself as a story about Persephone finding empowerment when she’s never allowed to actually have a voice or her own actions beyond whatever Hades can get out of it or staying as one dimensional of a character as possible because she can never ever do something questionable, even if it’s justified from her POV. Why can’t the future dread queen and so called “destroyer of light” not actually have these traits? Why does Rachel not trust a literal goddess to be a bit more complex than a the first level of a candy crush game?

2. I get why she puts in the parallels because I think she wants it to be “haha look, it’s not the same!” But? That’s not how parallels work? You want parallels in positive things, like hades and Persephone having similar goals, similar likes, similar storylines, none of which they have beyond liking each other I guess? The parallel should be theyre both lonely people who want to find happiness and love, not two people at very different life stages with very different goals. That doesn’t mesh! having parallels in how hades is eerily similar to her r*pist and their relationship being exactly like how Minthe and hades’ started/went, thats exactly what you don’t want a parallel in. You want a contrast in them! You want them to be different! That’s kinda the point! You want to show they’re better! I don’t think she gets this very basic literary concept and how it actually weakens what she’s trying to put across.

3. LO H/P and Hera make their own enemies. Cheating isn't good, but Hera is a hypocrite by having her own long affair and then ousting/humiliating Leto over her own. Why would Leto not fight back? And then you have Minthe, the victim of Hades' manipulation and toxic dependency and Persephone trying to take everything from her and we're supposed to be mad she tried to fight back? Forget that. HxP and Hera are terrible people protected by RS' biases. They'd be seen as villains if the POV was reversed

So like, ive been thinking about Adam and Blake alot lately, and thinking about the story they allude to and its .... making me kind of mad how RT completely destroyed the actual theme of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast with Adam’s and Blakes relationship. 

Like yeah, Beauty and the Beast, on the surface, and its most talked about theme is about ‘‘not judging someone by their appearance, because true beauty comes from within.’’

But under the surface, if you really dive into it, was really a story about two people othered and dehumanized by their communities finding solace in one another.

And it just…. really rubs me the wrong way that they’d take an amazing story like Beauty and the Beast and just…… completely disregard the core theme of the movie and make Adam this really shitty, creepy, abusive person towards Blake. It’s just…. really disheartening haha.

Its also the reason why i dont like the whole ‘’Yang is Blakes ‘Beast’/ or Blake is the Beast and Yang is Belle’ theory because Yang doesnt fit with the thematic approach the movie was aiming for. Because unlike Adam and Blake, Yang has never been ostracized and demonized by her society. She’s never experienced being treated like she’s subhuman and a second class citizen like Blake and Adam have ( ya know bc theyre Faunus.). Yang’s character/background just.... doesnt go well with this particular theme.

Adam and Blake had a lot of potential to have, in my opinion, the best and most interesting relationship (and by relationship, i dont necessarily mean romantic by the way) in the entire show. Adam had the potential to be a amazing foil for Blake, he could have been a wonderfully complex character who would fit in nicely with the ‘‘theres no such thing as pure evil’’ theme that was established in volume 1. 

But instead hes turns out to be this one dimensional Fuckboi who Wants To Destroy Humanity, completely shitting on what Blake said about there being no such thing as pure evil and its like…. so unnecessary and a waste honestly. If RT stuck to the aspect of what made Beauty and the Beast so special when writing the dynamic between Adam and Blake, they would have had something that honestly, would have been pretty great!!

Also i want to make it really clear because people might to jump to conclusions: I dont think fans who like the whole Blake and Yang = Beauty and the Beast theory are dumb and should stop liking the theory because im not particularly fond of it. Because … well, that would be really immature and stupid, and you know, u gotta do what feels right with u, peeps lol. 

The only purpose of this post was to give my two cents on why i really hate Adam’s and Blake’s dynamic in the show. So like... yeah... i already said what i wanted to say so im out, bye.
