can you please rec some wayhaught fic? i couldn’t really find anything good. what’s like THE wayhaught fic?

OH BOY CAN I

This show is so lucky to have so many incredible authors. I compiled a sizable list of my favorites at the bottom of this post. Definitely take a look at the authors on there because you really can’t go wrong with any of them. And once you get through their works you can check their bookmarks because they’re sure to have impeccable taste.

But THE wayhaught fic? I’m gonna have to go with the ‘80s Mixtape AU by @piratekane and @iamthegaysmurf. This one is a staple of the wayhaught fic canon and something it seems like everyone has read. The only reason it isn’t listed above is because I hadn’t read it when I made the list!

There are a frankly surprising number of phenomenal wayhaught fic writers, and I didn’t realize just how fortunate we are to have such talented authors until I read fic for other media. Happy reading!!

 when or if I started shipping it: i think i saw some picture or something waaaaay back when when there wasnt even a name for them and the jeff ep had recently come out and i went “its perfect” and here i am!

• my thoughts: i fucking love them i fucking love them jeff and wander are my two favs and theyre old hippie aliens and they have an enemies to friends (to lovers) story and jeff is cthulhu based and its basically everything i could ever fucking want in a ship and?? here it is??? 

• What makes me happy about them: theyre old and they have a looot of untapped history together and as characters which could be a gateway for some GREAT fanworks and theories. they also both play the banjo which is so

• What makes me sad about them: the only people who ship them are me and like.. 3-4 other people. and only one of us puts out consistent and great content (shout out to peach follow @majorthreatmonday for all ur jeff and occasional tumblesquid needs). 

BUT for real uhh theyre both implied to either be immortal and have reeeeeaalllly long life spans so theyre basically going to outlive all their friends :(

• things done in art/fic that annoys me: theres exactly 10 fics and not enough fanwork for me to complain about anything. and idk if i ever would bc im so starved i cant be picky. but i guess for general woy fics when they make NO mention of jeff when it comes to wanders past... like he is just constantly ignored/overlooked and i think thats a crime

• things I look for in art/fic: that it exists

• Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: oh fucking uhhhh. normally i tend to be turned off from major ships but wander/hater still has a special place in my heart so i guess i can go with him for wander. for jeff? happiness. love and attention from the fandom. please god just give me some jeff fanart pl

• My happily ever after for them: they have any kind of interaction at all. ever. or they reunite and after everyone passes they travel together for the rest of however the fuck long they live 

• what is their favorite non-sexual activity?: anything as long as theyre with eachother. jeffs very.. go-with-the-flow and wander will try anything once so whatever catches their eye at the time
