So with the DP x DC “Corpses AU” thing, what type of worldbuilding about his corpses do you mean? Like, is it about how he deals with his numerous corpses or about the “why” of the many-corpse situation? I’m curious about both
Also, how long did it take for his parents to find out in this AU (assuming they have)? I feel like the corpses would make things kinda hard to hide, but idk
Oh I'm so glad you asked. The answer is Yes.
Why and How on the Corpses
Danny's corpse is the universe leveling itself out. Its the universe manifesting a counter balance to Danny's death, he's still alive, his heart still beats and he breaths and as Danny that's fine, he's able to tap into his more ghostly side freely while still breathing, still sleeping, functioning as a living person but a little bit off.
But as a ghost there's nothing to keep him human, bada bing bada boom corpse. It's acting as a tether or an anchor, its the thing keeping him stable. The more he transforms the more need there is for the corpses.
But there's also an upper limit on the corpses. Because as much as they are real, they were at one point humans- but they're also the universe fucking around with an anomaly. Normally it taps out at around 10 or 12 corpses, once Danny exceeds the Corpse Limit, the bodies spark and disintegrate (mimicking Danny's death via electrocution)
Also there are two main ways for Danny to get corpsed, either willingly but going ghost and dropping another body or by his human body getting too hurt or verging death where he forcefully gets kicked out. Danny is stuck in a state of liminality, he can't be more dead or more alive so he's gotta even out before he can go back to either form (meaning that Danny can also be forcefully turned into a human when his ghost form is beat to hell and back)
Reveal and Dealing With Corpses
His parents very much did find out and it did not go well. It's very in line with the thinking of 'Phantom is a ghost possessing the body of our son' taken to the absolute extreme. It. Genuinely took longer than Danny thought it would've, he did manage to finish high school or get a good way into 12th grade before he was caught.
Sam, Danny and Tucker upon first corpsing, did what normal teens did and panicked. Then Sam took over, eventually settle on using the old drums that the Fenton parents used to primarily store chemicals, it evolved as Danny needed to transform in different parts of Amity Park so they assigned dump sites for Danny to transform in so that Sam and Tucker could get there and take care of it, or so that Danny would know where to drag his own remains.
His parents found out by witnessing Phantom attempt to hide his own corpse, it went as well as can be expected.
In Gotham Danny is far more sloppy that he was in Amity Park, with his main way of dealing with it being Don't Die or Transform. Problem solved. If he has to actually deal with a body he makes sure its out of site and that at least his hands are frozen down so that nobody makes an attempt to move him before he's got a dump site prepared. He tends to prefer not to deal with the logistics of water burials but dumping them in the river is the best he's got at the moment the au takes place in, too bad the bats are faster than he is.

saw your essays about the rohirrim as a culture centered around their ancestors/the dead and wondered what your thoughts are about eomer loaning the horses of their fallen to aragorn, legolas and gimli in that one scene considering the horses of fallen riders would most likely traditionally have a lot of significance? (idk if the way i framed this question makes sense lol)
YE ok short answer: i think it was the best option considering the circumstances
long answer: this opens a lot of fun doorways actually and i've been meaning to touch on Horse Significance for a while skjdfhksjd SO.
th first thing that i think really needs to be tackled is the difference between horses and Mearas. bc Hasufel and Arod are both explicitly regular ass horses— which makes sense! Mearas would only let Kings or Princes of the Mark ride them (and also Gandalf and Aragorn sjkdfhksjd) according to The Canon Lore. but anyways Mearas are explicitly a distinct race of horses who are Exceptional. The Best Of The Best! Mearas are not going to be sacrificed or gifted to anyone, least of all someone who is NOT Rohirric.
(again Mearas lore is not. the most defined, so i tend to interpret it as Mearas choose their riders. Shadowfax chose Gandalf and Brego, after Théodred's death, chose Aragorn. prior to that, Mearas only chose riders within the line of kings)
having established that Hasufel and Arod are Just Plain Horses, quite honestly I'm not surprised Éomer gifted them! considering his circumstances, there's no way for him to get them safely back to Meduseld and he's technically exiled from. The Entirety of Rohan so he also can't really stop and chill in one place. his best bet is to keep moving with his Éored and hunt as many Orcs as possible without attracting too much attention.
quite honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the plan prior to the three hunters showing up was sacrificing the horses
and this gets into like. grave rites and cultural beliefs around the dead and the multi-part soul again but we really don't see much of Théodred's funeral. we see him carried into the barrow and that's it— we don't see any of the preparation or any grave goods that might be in there. extrapolating from iron-age Norse culture, it was veeeeeeeeery common for horses to be sacrificed for noble burials, especially since horses were especially sacred to Óðinn who was most widely worshipped by nobility (Óðinn's horse, Sleipnir, was also said to be able to cross the boundaries between life and death and was sometimes loaned to other gods when they needed to travel to Helheim— something of note when considering horses and death here)
all this to say, I would expect to find a sacrificial horse in Théodred's barrow, along with more weapons, hunting dogs or falcons, his barding for Brego, and any other significant items. the soul doesn't simply vanish in death, and the physical body, the Lik, is part of the soul— you also wouldn't separate a rider from his horse. now, obviously you'd never sacrifice a Mearas, so Brego is off the list, but another riderless horse could very easily be killed so that Théodred's soul would have a steed on the other side.
pivoting back to Hasufel and Arod, obviously common Rohirrim aren't gonna be left in barrows, least of all when they're following Éomer into exile. Gárulf and whoever the hell rode Arod were most likely burned. this practice of burning would hold true for most common Rohirrim anyways— the dead would generally be buried for a week or two, then dug up and burned (or "graverobbers" would pillage the grave goods and return them to the family, so valuable weapons/tools weren't lost. you can't exactly afford to lose your best sword when you're broke). the Lik is kind of the glue that holds the soul together, in my interpretation— it's the vessel; too much of the soul hanging around in one place is how you wind up with restless dead, draugr.
so, you've got two burned bodies and two horses with no riders who 1) don't have the living significance of Mearas and 2) are only going to be a burden on the living. had the three hunters not shown up, and had they found no way to house the horses safely, again— I would expect they would have been sacrificed. that way their souls might join their owners' and they might take the road to the afterlife together. (and this would be more of a practice for Riders in the capital-R sense, alongside nobility, not your everyday Rohirric farmer)
since the bodies of their owners had already (presumably) been burned and Éomer and his men are exiled, gifting Hasufel and Arod was, again, the best option available. especially since Aragorn had named himself a friend of Théoden (and a hunter of Uruk-Hai) — and even if they had been brought back to Meduseld, considering what we know of old Norse burial culture and how closely Rohirric culture aligns, I would not have been particularly surprised if Hasufel or Arod had wound up sacrificed anyways
on the flip side, had it been the HORSES who died in battle and not their riders, I would expect that their bodies would have been honored as warriors and they would have been burned alongside any men. with the multi-part soul, you have the Fylgja, a sort of guardian spirit that takes the form of an animal— for Rohirric culture in my own writings, I've extrapolated that as a shared part of the soul between steed and rider, a way of explaining the bond that forms between a Rider and their warhorse. as such, a horse who died in battle would be so honored with the explicit hope that their soul might return as the Fylgja of their Rider's child
(you also get into fun stories like þorsteinn Ox-foot who'd been raised apart from his birth family, and was identified when his granfather Saw his Fylgja and recognized it as related to þorsteinn's true family— a Rider's Fylgja therefore might take the shape of their own steed, but have some distinct marking shared by their bloodline, making them identifiable to those who can see Fylgjur. there's also the idea that Fylgjur can serve as portents of somebody's death; if your Fylgja is a goat and you see a dead goat that nobody else can see, well...... <- if you see your horse, dead, but nobody else can see it.......)
i hope this like. Made Sense???? but yea Mearas would not be touched ceremonially but regular ass horses are open to sacrifice and I think once the Fylgja-connection is severed there's no issue at all w/ Hasufel and Arod being gifted to others. very uncommon for those Others to be non-Rohirrim, but strange times and all that

5. What’s one defensive maneuver your kintype will do to ward off potential predators or rival animals. Alternate question for less primal types, Do you have a protocol or set rules to defend yourself from danger?
most of the time, i'm not concerned with things such as self defense or fending off attackers. i'm almost always on the offense instead, striking before they have a chance to attack. i suppose that's my protocol; always strike first, where it counts, and ideally the enemy will be dead before they even know you're there. if that's not an option, rely on speed and agility rather than brute strength to survive.
i don't tend to have rules for myself; i simply do what it takes to come out of the fight victorious, regardless of if it's at my expense. the only thing i can think of is, don't kill innocents. when i fight, it tends to be very destructive, so i must be in a state of constant awareness so as to not harm humans caught in crossfire or damage their property...too badly.
and of course, there are less combat-oriented ways of defending myself. there is always equipment i wear on my body that aids in vanquishing evil, whether it's symbolic or actually used for a specific purpose. i'm sure anyone would agree that the best option is to ward off evil spirits before they have a chance to manifest. i would often meditate to help manage the pain caused by karmic debt, as well.
6. Do you do anything with kills besides just eating them? Collecting bones, a graveyard for remnants, burying it for storage, studying or soul absorption?
well, first of all, i don't eat my kills. at least, not under ideal circumstances. the filth i deal with is largely unsuited for consumption. still, there have still been a fair share of regular monsters and animals i've killed that would be fit to eat. however, i can't stomach most food, and have a particular distaste for meat. the taste and feeling of blood in my mouth is something i refuse to partake in voluntarily.
what i do with the bodies depends on whether or not they're tainted with divine hatred. either way, i never take trophies. i see it as disrespectful and unnecessary. if i need a part of the kill for a specific purpose, i will take it, but never simply on a whim or out of pride.
if the body is tainted, and the filth wasn't dispersed/cleansed upon its death... like previously mentioned, i have equipment on my person that i use for meditation, prayer, and exorcism that will purify the body and eliminate the danger. this kind of situation was a constant during and in the direct aftermath of the arch/on war, but in recent years it became a rarer occurrence. however, it still happened often enough that one must always be prepared. resentful gods are stubborn, and the consequences of coming across even their fallen vessels unprepared can be life-threatening, so it's my responsibility to make sure that doesn't happen.
otherwise, i'm often inclined to just move on, sometimes after a quick prayer. i can't afford to spend too much time being idle. if i've killed a human, however, that could be a different story. it's mostly against my principles to harm mortals, so if i do, there are cases where they were collateral. if that's the case, i'll move the body away from the site of the battle, if circumstances allow. ideally, somewhere more scenic. if i can, i'll cover the body, whether it be through burial, or covering it with leaves/cloth/anything else at my disposal. i tend to linger longer in these cases, for a variety of reasons and purposes.
11. What would be an omen that may symbolize your kintype someone may come across?
teal light. black mist. glowing white insects that resemble butterflies. the wind picking up in such a way that it feels like it may slice right through you. these may all be interpreted in my canon as omens of my presence or arrival.
16. As your kintype what’s something you think is stupid about humans feature and or behaviour wise?
this question feels targeted...
many things. features, not as much, but human behavior is something i was never able to understand. their food preferences, their desires and aspirations, the things they hold dear...
i could never see the sense behind any of it and considered it frivolous. i felt like we were closer to being on the same page when li/yue was still young, but over the centuries, our priorities changed rapidly. i never bothered trying to adapt; my priorities lie with my original contract, and mortal desires that are actually within my jurisdiction.

What do you personally think happened in the three months between Nightless City and the First Siege? Iirc, WY made cenotaphs for WN and WQ (Chapter 111) but other than that, what do you think is going on in his head and in the Wen Remnants' as well? And how do you think the Siege went? The conclusion of it is the destruction of the Seal. When do you think the Wens died? Before or after WY did? I feel like WY would defend the Wens until his very last breath but I also think that WY would choose to destroy the Seal because there is no one left to protect and he doesn't want it to fall into the wrong hands. And who do you think put A-Yuan in the hollow tree stump? Many fans headcanon that it's WY as a tearjerking scene but how about you? Wouldn't WY want to come back for A-Yuan if it was him? Cos he knew that the destruction of the Seal would cause huge backlash and kill him. If he knew that A-Yuan is still alive, wouldn't he find a way to survive that backlash? And the Burial Mounds is WY's home turf. Is the reason why he lost against the sects is because of his mental/emotional state at the time? Since JZX, WN, WQ, and JYL recently died. Do you think he was caught off guard as well?
I'm sorry for the bombardment of questions. I know they're supposed to be missing scenes but sometimes, my brain can't help but want to fill in the blanks. I just want to hear someone else's thoughts I guess. Anyway, WY and the Wens truly deserved better.
(sorry, this got left in my drafts)
So I went back and read through the connected scenes just to get the feel of the story. I feel like WWX wasn't in any state of mind to plan things. He was just hanging in a limbo. That's really too much trauma, even for someone like WWX. You can sense his thoughts grow darker and grimmer with every sentence. (imho wq and wn giving themselves up was a mistake and the final nail in the coffin. There was no recovery from that point for any of the wens or for wwx for that matter.)
I feel like all of the Wens would've been in a limbo too. They were probably aware that it was only a matter of time before they had to face retaliation for the Nightless City.
Uncle Four for incharge when WQ and WN left so he probably continued to remain incharge as WWX recovered. I'm assuming they discussed what would come next. WWX is forward thinking. By this point, BM is essentially a prison. I think just as WQ and WN accepted their fates, the remaining Wens did too. WWX would've fought to the very end, but I don't know about the others.
He probably knew JC would be furious enough to want him dead. And since JC has visited, WWX knows they'd be able to get in.
I think he anticipated JC leading the others to BM. This is a man who knows JC best, after all.
If WWX has regained some clarity, despite his grief and loss, he also knows there's no other place that's face for them, not after Nightless City. His only option is to think of ways to destroy the seal.
As for a-Yuan, I think WWX would've actually kept the child away from him, especially during the first few days or weeks. He'd probably recognize that a-Yuan doesn't need to see him in such a state.
I also think it wasn't WWX who tucked him away in a tree stump. It could have been granny or uncle four doing that as WWX prepared to confront the incoming siege. WWX doesn't remember what happened to him but there's not even a hint of him thinking a-Yuan would've survived. He probably didn't know one of the Wens had hidden the child away.
Also, what luck! That was such a close thing! If LWJ hadn't gone, a-Yuan would've definitely died. It was so close.
I'm torn about who dies first.
Sometimes I get the impression that WWX died before most of the Wens. He would've definitely been the first line of defence and the first one to act. And then sects apparently had time to collect the bodies and toss them in the blood pool. I'm assuming WWX wouldn't have let that happen. He could've seen a few die and decided that destroying the seal would've been the only way to salvage the situation. I'm assuming a-Yuan would have probably crossed his mind. Like the longer he takes to neutralize the situation, the more time people have to find him.
It could be that the Wens die first and WWX attempts to destroy the seal to keep it out of people's hands.
I believe WWX died furious. His last action was to keep a powerful tool away from the sects. I think he was very angry. It could have been a combination of grief, anger, and a sense of helplessness that made him focus on destroying the seal. Everyone was gonna die anyways, especially if he did nothing. The blashlash would perhaps deter people enough for a few Wens to escape.
I think the situation was just pure chaos and it would've been impossible for WWX to think everything through, especially not with the Jiang contingent leading the siege. You bet JC would've taken advantage of every weakness and tell to defeat WWX. Probably by targeting the Wens right before his eyes.
Idk, I have many thoughts about the siege.
