3 non romantic duos

1 - Pao-Lin and Nathan

AKA the Tiger & Bunny Gender Team. Their dynamic is impeccable: Pao-Lin as the kid who's trying to work with a gender that doesn't fit quite right, and Nathan as the established queer adult who shows her, even just by being there, that the possibilities of who you can be are endless. And yet, not only do they have a peer-to-peer friendship and equal respect for each other as heroes; but when Nathan, who seems so strong and solid in who they are, is actually made vulnerable by all the hurt she's experienced because of her queerness, Pao-Lin is the one who saves her, by pointing out just how wonderful Nathan is because of their different, unique identity.

I have so many feelings about them, and I wish the show had let them interact with each other and explore their shared themes and experiences way more than it did. Luckily, as you can see above, we have Ueda and Yoshida's manga firmly on our side. 💛💖

2 - Data and Geordie

Data was possibly my first main Blorbo, decades before the word Blorbo came to be. And his friendship with Geordie, while being one of the main tenets of both their characters, still, IMO, never got all the credit it deserved; particularly in regard to Geordie's feelings about the many, many time we (almost and then not almost 😭) lose Data, when other people's reactions are often put more in the forefront. Part of that was due to Geordie's status as a more secondary character, sure; but in part it was, perhaps, by virtue of their relationship's own nature. Their frendship is already established; it is more obvious and natural than the laws of physics the Enterprise keeps bending on its adventures; it simply, well, is. The other characters had to learn to understand and love Data; Geordie, apparently, simply accepted him and loved him before the very start. (Insert heavy-handed symbolism here about the blind character easily seeing past someone's surface; the show sure never shied away from it.) And this meant... a lot to me. 💛

(I have not yet seen the last season of Picard, but a glimpse of a headline makes me think I might need to say: please, no spoilers?)

3 - The Doctor and Donna

(Spoilers for the 60th Anniversary specials here, turn away if you need to. They're only one year old, after all. 😅)

You know that post that says these two are the biggest win ever for fictional queerplatonic relationships? (This one, btw.) Yeah, all of that and then more. Donna doesn't give the Doctor heart-eyes, she does not follow him blindly; she yells at him, throws things at his head, and then runs not behind him, but right at his side, with her eyes firmly wide open. The Doctor calls her the most important woman in the whole wide universe, and he means it. At one point, they become one single being, and it is glorious. They would have gone on together forever; them having to lose each other broke me (and probably them) far more than all the other separations in the show could. 💔

Imagine, then, my utter, endless delight when, after almost fourteen years, the 60th Anniversary specials not only reunited these two, but actually gave them a fully happy ending in which the Doctor (well, Tennant's version, anyway) joins Donna's amazing family, parks his TARDIS in their backyard, and just hangs out with them forever and ever, amen (shut up, time is all just wibbly-wobbly stuff, in the end). 💖💖💖

A ship that might surprise others

I'll be honest: I sat here for literally hours trying to think of a ship of mine that might be surprising (and that wasn't, like, stuff from 20 or more years ago that is really too cringe for me to want to bring it up now). I usually like pretty obvious ships, with the gamut of my tastes mostly running along the incredibly wide spectrum of "fluffy friends to lovers" to "snarky friends to lovers". 😅

So in the end I decided to go with something that has actually caused surprise to several people before, not so much because of the ship, but because I even knew about the show at all: Ray/Fraser in Due South 😂 (Apparently Canadians think that only Canadians know this show? But a) Italian TV will air almost anything, and b) the language of classic slash shows is universal. 😁)

Okay, maybe you might be surprised to know that the answer to "but which Ray, though?!?" is actually "Both". I am not a veteran of the Ray Wars; I existed in my little safe corner of "I discovered this fandom a couple of years after the show finished airing, and I just chilled at the edges of it, watching bootleg VHS tapes and reading fic on LiveJournal".

(You can't tell me that Fraser wasn't madly in love with both of them, anyway. It's just fact, as far as I'm concerned.)

Last song: Nightingale by Demi Lovato.

Last film: Pretty sure it was Onward, which I watched with my siblings and enjoyed a fair bit (which was definitely helped by the fact that I did not see/recognize who was voicing Barley until the movie was over).

Currently reading: I just finished (re-)reading Kimi Ni Todoke and it's as utterly sweet and delightful as I remembered. (I do not think I got to chapter 63 on my original readthrough, though, because I did NOT remember it also shattering my heart like that. 😭)

Currently watching: The Ranma 1/2 remake.

Currently consuming: Nothing. I should probably have some dinner.

Currently craving: a lot of extra energy to work on my T&B Secret Santa and the Advent Calendar! 💪💚

So Darius and Eber are in bonesborough probably doing rebellion stuff during the events of Labyrinth runners and Eber roots through the trash only to find Hunter doing the same thing. After Spider-Man pointing at each other and Hunter running off, Eber lets Darius know

Eber: (I found your son eating out of the trash)

Darius: He’s not my-WHAT DO YOU MEAN EATING OUT OF THE TRASH!?

Not Darius giving himself away not once, but twice 😭

You know Eber would be so smug too because he did not say any names and yet Darius knew who he was talking about 👀 very interesting.

And Darius can't even argue that no, that's no proof that he's thinking about Hunter as his son because he's too busy trying to get Eber to tell him in which direction Hunter ran off because that boy is NOT eating trash on his watch, and while they're at it, how was he looking, Eber, did he look like he needed anything else? He's two seconds away from going after Hunter or going to get some stuff to bring him before going after him.

Not even Eber's shit-eating grin dissuades him because he's far too concerned, rip.

Zerilliam

I hope by now that you already know, but just in case you didn't, I absolutely adore this pairing! When I first started reading "Dandelion Wishes," I actually made my poor sister listen to me rant about how much I love this ship (and she hadn't even read the fic so she had no clue what I was talking about), and honestly I had more to say about them than most canon x canon Black Clover pairings, so needless to say, it is definitely canon in my mind.

William is such a sweetheart, and I can really imagine him as someone who has domestic dreams of finding love, settling down, and having a family so it warms my heart to see that he did get to have this (even if it ended in tragedy--which I will never get over. They deserved their happy ending! 😭 Even if I'll admit the angst is delicious, and their boy, Alistair, is just so precious to me).

Also, your backstory for how the two of them ended up together is just delightful. Honestly, "Dandelion Wishes" is one of my favorite fanfictions I've ever read in my life, and I have been so invested in it and in William and Zera's relationship from day one. They are so perfect for each other in my opinion, just absolutely made-for-each-other soulmates. I love how they share common interests but have a lot of balance in personality with Zera a little more headstrong and William a little more reserved. They really are in awe of each other's strengths too and have so much respect and admiration for their differences which I just adore.

Zera as a character is so vibrant and so real to me, as well. She just commands attention every time she appears, and every time she does pretty much anything, I can just vividly imagine William staring lovingly awestruck at her and zest for life with hearts in his eyes or floating around his head like in an old cartoon. (He's so in love! I'm going to cry!) Also, her quirks and the adorable way she names her plants is super endearing, and the fact that she is a florist only makes me love her more (but my family actually runs a flower shop (A/N: But I don't work there), so I think I'm very biased in this regard 😅).

I honestly don't get this intense about ships all that often, but I cannot describe to you in words how much I think about this pairing and how desperately I need them to kiss. And I mean desperately. To be perfectly honest with you, at this point, I am so invested in it that it's really hard for me to imagine William with anyone else...which concerns the more neutral, multi-shipper part of me, if I'm being honest, but this ship is just that good. Reading about them has made me laugh and cry and squeal just like (and in many cases more than) reading about any ship between canon characters, and I'm honestly just in awe of how compelling this ship and their story is. I really can't thank you enough for creating Zera, Zerilliam, and the masterpiece that is "Dandelion Wishes"! 💖

YuNeva

Aww they're cute. 😊 To be honest with you though (and I am very sorry to have to say this) in general ships with Yuno in them aren't really my cup of tea personally since I tend to see Yuno as someone who isn't all that interested in romance and (possibly) would just never really want that kind of relationship. That said, according to the Assorted Question Brigade in Vol. 31 he does have a “type” of person he likes...so who knows? Maybe someday he'll want to find love. If he did, I would definitely be supportive of that, and I'm not against the idea of shipping him. It's just not something I personally have ever given much thought to, and, for that reason, I feel pretty neutral towards Yuno ships in general and don't have many thoughts or opinions (Again, I'm sorry about that).

All of that said, if I was to imagine Yuno falling in love, YuNeva is a very sweet pairing, and they make me smile in your stories and posts about them. I really enjoyed them in COTF too! ^^ Going back to that Assorted Question Brigade I mentioned, Yuno himself described his "type" as "someone who's relaxing to be around," and that's something that really sticks out to me about his relationship with Neva. It's very comfortable and almost cozy. They just work so well together, and it feels effortless--like they just naturally gravitate towards each other and genuinely enjoy each other's company. I love that a lot, and I also love how their bond is built on mutual respect and admiration. They really support each other and the moments they can share their vulnerabilities are always very compelling to me. I also think Neva is just a great character on her own (especially her platonic bond with William. So wholesome!). I like her dynamic with Yuno a lot too and how they complement each other. I think I'm a little more invested in their friendship (because I'm weird like that), but I could definitely see them very happy together romantically and I definitely want good things for both of them, so I'd support them falling in love and think you’ve done a great job crafting their love story. 💕

Platonic Relationship Ramblings! Yay! Thank you so much for this, dear!

Asta & Yuno

Aww I adore them, and their brotherly bond. Their dynamic and rivalry which is built on a such a strong foundation of familial love and mutual respect was what initially hooked me in Black Clover, and it has been such a delight getting to watch their individual journeys and how they have supported each other through the series. I'm getting a little emotional just thinking about it, honestly. 🥹

One of my favorite things about them is just how wildly different they are as people. Asta has such a big personality, and Yuno is so reserved, but their differences are always respected and really help inspire each other. In that way, I love that their relationship is kind of a twist on the usual rivals dynamic because it isn't just Asta trying to live up to the (quite frankly very OP) Yuno but Yuno also views Asta as his rival as well because he has so much admiration for his passion, resilience, and determination. I was not expecting that when I first watched the anime and thought it was such a refreshing reveal. I love how Yuno's genuine admiration for Asta has been such a driving force for his character throughout the series.

Fuegoleon & Nozel

Yes! I love this dynamic! Nozel being tsundere about his friendship feelings is just so entertaining, and I love to see the trope used in a platonic way instead of just an explicitly romantic one. The love between friends is really important too and can also be difficult to express sometimes, so it was really great to see Nozel kind of struggle with that and struggle with how much Fuegoleon means to him and how much he admires and respects him even if he lacks the words to say it. And yes, it was kind of played for laughs sometimes, (and my sister and I made so many "tsundere besties" jokes about them while binging the anime), but even so, there is something really genuine and really wholesome about their friendship. Getting to see how Nozel reacted to Fuegoleon's injury and subsequent coma and how motivated he was by his respect and admiration for him was just really compelling, and I found the scene in the elf arc in which Nozel is thinking of their rivalry and how much Fuegoleon inspires him to be really moving. Definitely a solid BROTP!

Let's hear about that Pride & Prejudice AU bestie 💖🧡

Anyone that's known me for a long time knows that no matter what, I will find a way to make a Pride & Prejudice AU with OCs 😤

This particular iteration is my favorite tho! This time around we have crafted a P&P AU focused on Faith and Rhea ( @captastra ) meeting and falling in love with Max and Felix 👀

I have admittedly been very slow getting around to it, but it has genuinely been one of the biggest things I have been wanting to work on for months. But, you know how it is, not having the time to dedicate to this project was a big factor and it's probably gonna be even longer until I get to it now that I'm moving out and have to get a new desk and set up my workspace.

And, truthfully, I am very very excited about this one and I really want to take my time and put the love into it!! It is 100% absolutely one of the highest things on my to-do list and it's never stopped rotating in my brain.

ANYWAY ON TO WHAT I HAVE PLANNED

Sooooo, I have 4 small illustrations so far that I really want to make :]

Nothing super massive and extravagant right now, just a set I haven't been able to get out of my mind regarding different interactions!

The more fleshed out concepts I have are for a Faith and Rhea interaction and a Max and Felix interaction. Both separate but meant to mirror each other!

For Faith and Rhea I was thinking about them late at night, soft lighting, maybe they're laying in bed together, but they're very excitedly talking about the lads they met and how dashing they are and what the interactions they had with them were like and whether or not some feelings had been sparked, etc etc.

For Max and Felix, the conversation is the same but about the gals! I have a vague idea of the setting I want to draw them in, but I haven't fully decided yet. I really like the idea of Felix head over heels for Rhea and asking Max for advice on how to approach her again. I feel like he just really doesn't want to mess this one up 🥺 I also like the idea of Felix pestering Max on his thoughts about Faith, and Max being very avoidant, not wanting to answer, but also not being able to hide that people noticed he couldn't take his eyes off of her 😌💅

The other two drawings I want to make are obviously some lil Faith/Max and Rhea/Felix illustrations 💖💕 but I haven't fully decided what I want to go with for those! I have a few ideas, but those I really want to discuss and plan out privately 🤭 definitely super excited to work on those!!

And let's be honest.. I kind of want to make even more with P&P AU, but small steps lmao don't want to overwhelm myself. It's always gonna be there to come back to! No promises that I'll dabble in trying to write out some things more eloquently, it's just so much easier for me to express my ideas through visuals! Plus I just really love drawing romance things 😩

There's so many interactions we can explore! But even more exciting! I want to explore different outfits for them because I mean c'mon they are all going to look SO darling!

I think I said so in private but I'm still bouncing back and forth between wanting a strict period setting or if I wanna be loosey goosey and incorporate some space themes to the designs and environments. Both just sound so very fun to me to get to work with.

Okay maybe I should stop now because I think I will just want to keep rambling about P&P AU things 😭

You hurried around your kitchen making breakfast for your son and husband, along with a nice lunch for Levi to take to work. Since Levi and you got back together, he moved in right away, and you got married a week later. You've both been in happy bliss since. You stayed at home with Armin as Levi ran his tea company. Levi made plenty for you and Armin, with much to spare.

You put Armin's food in front of him and admired how grown up he was, he was so close to being one. You kissed his forehead. "Good boy."

Armin smiled. "Mama."

You hummed a laugh. "Eat your breakfast, son. Good boy."

Levi walked up behind you and grabbed your waist. "I thought good boy was reserved for me."

You giggled as he nibbled your neck. "Armin is being a good boy for eating."

Levi hugged you and rested his chin on your shoulder and watched his son eat. "Smart kid. I always thought he was smart. Hey, can you promise me that we'll keep him far away from Eren? I feel like that even in this life he'll be a shit."

"I agree."

"Zeke too."

You hummed a laugh. "Wanna cut his head off in this life as well?"

"Yes. My hatred has carried over."

You nibbled your lip. "What else has carried over?"

He kissed your ear and whispered to you. "My desire to fill you and get you pregnant."

You hummed in delight. "That's a good point. I haven't done my test today."

"You haven't?"

You shook your head. "No, could you look after your son?"

Levi walked over and sat next to Armin. "Hey, son. Let's help you out."

You went to the downstairs bathroom and tried two tests. You cleaned up and took the tests with you. "Honey, I made you lunch." You slammed into Levi's chest as soon as you left the bathroom. "Oh, hello."

He held your upper arms. "So?"

You pulled the tests out. "Give it time."

He sighed. "Sorry, we've been trying for months and I just..." He squeezed your arms. "I want us to get more of our dream."

You smiled. "Looks like we will."

Levi grabbed your hands and looked at the double positive. "Baby."

You giggled. "Baby! We're having a baby!"

Levi picked you up and spun around with you. "BABY!"

You laughed. "That's right!"

He put you down and ran over to Armin. He picked his son up making him squeal with laughter. "Baby! You're gonna be a big brother Armin!"

You smiled as you watched Levi with your son. "We should do something, make a party to reveal it to our friends."

Levi bounced Armin on his hip. "I think that's a great idea."

"Really? You used to hate parties back in our old life."

"I did, but then I lost everyone and I died. I've come to appreciate a lot. Nothing too big, but something small and friendly."

You smiled. "Got it." You opened your arms. "Hand me, Armin. You need to get to work."

Levi blushed as he saw the time. "Tch, I'm gonna be late." He kissed you then Armin. "I'll see you both later." He smiled. "A baby." He hummed a laugh. "Amazing." He grabbed his bag and lunch before running off. "Love you!"

"Love you too!"

Armin waved. "Dada!"

You and Levi worked together organising the baby surprise after Armin's birthday. Everyone got him a lot of educational things because they knew in his past life, the kid was smart. You did promise to your friends and mostly Levi that you would never give him the bowl-cut hair. You had a little party for Armin with your friends around first before you put the baby surprise into action.

You walked around your living room sorting out decorations with Armin walking around behind you. You smiled at how he was like a little duckling around you. "Levi? Could you look after Armin?"

Levi scooped up Armin making him squeal with laughter. "Come here you!" He nibbled Armin making him giggle. "Your mummy is busy, so we're going to play. How about I read you a book?"

You finished decorating your cake that revealed the news to your friends. "Okay, it's ready. They coming?"

Levi nodded. "They've updated me." He got up and walked to the front door. "I'll welcome them with Armin."

You smiled. "Thanks, I'll get the drinks."

"Are you sure you don't need my help?"

"I'm good. I need to keep busy."

"Alright, just shout for us when you need us."

Levi welcomed his friends into the house. Erwin with his new Mrs, Mike with his as well. Levi was proud of Hange and Moblit being a couple and welcomed them all with open arms. He kissed his mother's cheek and welcomed her in too. He hugged your parents and was glad to see them well.

You handed out drinks and chatted before you presented the cake. "Kuchel! Why don't you cut the cake with my mum?"

Kuchel nodded and cute the cake. She pulled the slice out to see pink and blue inside. "What?"

You giggled. "Think about it."

Your mum gasped. "You're pregnant!?"

You nodded as Levi hugged you with Armin. "Yes."

Levi chuckled as his friends cheered and congratulated you both. "Thank you. It's what we dreamed about, having a big family together. We know Armin will be a great big brother."

You hummed a laugh. "He'll be the best."

Your pregnancy went smoothly, but Levi was on your heels the whole time. You had to tell Levi to back off a bit so you could breathe some days. You could see how excited he was each day you were together and you were growing. Armin was excited and wanted badly to see his little brother or sister.

On delivery day, Erwin looked after Armin as Levi took you to the hospital. Your daughter was brought into the world and a perfect bundle of joy. Lilly was yours and Levi's everything. Armin was a great big brother and took care of his sister. He never once got mad. He would hold her little hand and smile.

You held Lilly's little hands as she started walking with her two-year-old brother helping. "You got it. Now, go with Armin to daddy!"

Armin held Lilly's hand. "Lilly go to daddy!"

Levi opened his arms. "Come on, that's it!" He caught both when they fell into his arms. "Well done! Both of you are amazing!" He chuckled. "I love you both, so much."

You blushed. "They adore you too."

"I'm glad Erwin told me where you were."

You welled up. "Me too." You grinned. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Levi squeezed his kids. "I can't wait for what else will happen."

ahhhh this is so nice, thank you!! 😭❤️ i have so many comfort fics that are lifesaving when i've had a rough day- fics i can just snuggle up with and enjoy, and i am delighted that this fic can be that for you!

i don't really have any specific snippets about the verse, except that pat and jonny are truly happy in it. so many fics with sub!jonny cast him as hiding it, or being somehow embarrassed or ashamed, or as being a great captain in spite of being a sub (and don't get me wrong- i love those vibes, and i've written several things that fall into those categories!) but with this fic i wanted it to be uncomplicated and easy for them.

so while they're at the rink, jonny is the captain, and pat is totally fine with that. but when they're at home, jonny pretty much always wants to be on his knees. he falls into subspace so easily, because he has so much trust and love for pat, and it's not uncommon at all for him to get there just by making a quick lunch for pat after practice.

i see him embracing everything that being a sub means, even outside the bedroom, so he genuinely enjoys serving pat, and being hand-fed, and letting pat decide things like what movie they're going to watch, or what suit he wants jonny to wear that day.

and the guys are totally chill about it. there's no chirping, no elbowing each other, no sarcastic remarks or side-eyes. if anything, some of the guys are jealous that pat and jonny have this perfect relationship, where they're so obviously meant for each other. jonny will kneel on the plane like it's no big deal, letting pat play with his hair and feed him snacks, and the adoration in his eyes when he looks up at pat is almost blinding, and mirrored completely when pat looks down at jonny.

First off, let me apologize for the super late response. I've been extremely busy with life and work. I don't have as much time to myself to relax or even come on tumblr anymore. I just.. love him so much. I can't even look at him without smiling and getting tons of butterflies in my stomach🦋💖🦋💖 He's taught me how to love myself, and he makes me feel safe in every way possible.

The mere thought of him fills my chest with a warm, fuzzy, love-y feeling💗 His eyes are sparkly and kind, I can stare deep into them for hours on end. Then there's his smile.. ughhh I love his smile so much. It's warm, inviting, and very beautiful- the bright flash of his smile takes my breath away every time🤩😍 His voice is comforting and it soothes my nerves when I'm feeling anxious. He is very patient and understanding, especially when it comes to me. We take the time to communicate and understand one another, which he is extremely good at. I can comfortably talk to and seek advice from him about anything. He feels the need to help when and wherever he can(this doesn't only apply to me ofc) and I think that is very sweet🥺🥰

He's the type of man that loves fully and unconditionally. Not only does he accept my flaws, but he loves them. He doesn't even see them as flaws, he just sees them as apart of me. And well.. he loves every part of me. His hugs are usually always firm and gentle. Also they're never half-assed, nor would he accept one that is. Not that he'd ever force a hug on me, he would just think that the hug wasn't genuine. When he hugs, he wants to do it right. Otherwise he figures, then what's the point? Not that I would even consider denying him any meaningful hugs. Plus he gives the best hugs. Especially the kind where I get to bury my face in his chest, and his arms wrap completely around my upper half. Holding me close, keeping me safe and snug. He's also very cuddly😖🐻💕 Another favorite is our heart-to-heart hugs. There is something very intimate and reassuring about the closeness of it. Especially when neither one of us want to pull away from the other first. His kisses are sweet and passionate. When he kisses me, I feel his love transfer into me and it fills my entire body with a pleasant warmth. His beard tickling me every time is also a delight. I can never get enough of it. He's a very sensual lover. He knows how to make me feel loved and cared for.

I am enough for him, but he can never get enough of me. I can never get enough of him either. Our love for each other is so strong and complex and completely unbreakable. I can confidently refer to him as the man of my dreams, because he is. And I love what we have together❤

The cat! Story time! Let me tell you something! So I don't know if you know this but I used to have two cats for some years as a kid. One of them was a former stray that refused to be kept inside. The other was an Idiot (affectionate) and during the Christmas season, guess what he did? Climb. The. Damn. Tree. Constantly. Miraculously he never knocked it over, mostly because we had a string of bells on the tree so every time we heard the jangle-jangle-jangle I sprinted over at Mach 5 yelling "TIGER! GET DOWN THERE!" and picking him off like an overripe fruit. For some reason he still kept doing it because…cats, I guess?

(Fun fact: that same idiot also always stole some ornaments from the lower branches and played with them like they were cat toys. We kept finding random straw ornaments scattered around the place until like…June.)

And then the BC pics! Love how they're all sweet and adorable, then there's that One (1) blurry screencap of Little Gremlin sneaking the pizza. Very relatable. Although I'm not sure if the Joonas-and-dog pic is cute or slightly concerning, they both look pretty tired…
