"Get ready for season 5, everyone. Because trust me, you guys are not ready for what's coming. So get ready," ā Noah Schnapp.
"I think you find out slowly through the season, Willās kind of love towards Mike and I think itās a really beautiful thing; there is probably a mutual understanding and an acceptance,ā ā Finn Wolfhard about Mikeās arc in season 4.
"I think the Duffer brothers figured out, I would imagine, a perfect ending in five. We didnāt even know if weād do two. So, weāre happy that people still are around and want to watch it. But yeah, Iām excited. Four was huge in scale, but I think Iād like to see the fifth season draw back on more of the dynamics of Season 1 and sort of be a little more contained, but also still be gigantic. I hope we kind of get an ending for each character thatās pretty satisfying for fans," ā Finn Wolfhard about season 5.
"I mean, itās pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike. Theyāve been intentionally pulling that out over the past few seasons. Even in Season 1, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline. I think for Season 4, it was just me playing this character who loves his best friend but struggles with knowing if heāll be accepted or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesnāt belong," ā Noah Schnapp about Willās arc is season 4.
"Thereās so many different things they have to address. Obviously, we hope for a coming out scene, and I also want to see them address this connection to the Mind Flayer and how that fits into the world. And Iāve always been wondering, why was Will the first victim and the first one captured? I just want to see it all tie in and all work out. So Iām excited to see what happens," ā Noah Schnapp about season 5.

So, a lot of these I have already said, but since @poisonedxbeauty posted one and then we both talked about it, I'm doing a headcanon post as well. Some of this are big duh and basically accepted as fanon, so I wasn't going to originally post about them, butttttt.
Angel Dust (and we both agree on this so I promise I'm not copying them, but it's also canon per Voxtagram soooo) does not only wear super femme clothes, or super revealing clothes. He's definitely a crop top and shorts guy, or a low cut cozy shirt guy, but he isn't always dressed intentionally provocative. When he's alone in his room, or he is getting ready for a show, this is the most comfortable and cozy fucker ever. He likes to relax sometimes after wearing all those corsets and tight dresses.
Angel hates his feet. This is canon, and very apparent with my Angel (the foot fetish thing had him reeling the other day). To the point that even during sex, he either keeps his shoes on (which is LITERALLY seen in Poison), or he will wear thigh high stockings. Tbh, they aren't even ugly - he's got cute little jumping spider feet. But he does NOT like them and will NOT let people touch them. If you get to, that means he has a very deep connection with you.
Angel's gold tooth and mismatched eyes are because of his contract with Valentino. Which also means that Travis is contracted with Val. Which is interesting. Was he just like...this fucker isn't hot enough so he can just be the script writer?
By the way, Angel thinks Travis is a horrible script writer. His talent as an actor is wasted on that bullshit.
Which goes into, yeah, he 'stands up for it' when Husk is a 'porn critic.' It isn't because of the fact that he thinks the writing is good, or even that the porn itself is good. It's because Angel is proud of his acting abilities, and that damn porno won him a Sex-x-xi Award. It showed that he was CAPABLE at something, to the point that he won over the other biggest porn star in Hell. That showed that he CAN act and that he's damn GOOD at it and he's proud of that. And so having that shot down hurts like a bitch.
He loves polaroids. Clearly, since they're covering his door. He definitely has one at all times and likes to document his life and the fact that now he has one. For once. That he's proud of.
Angel Dust is better at guns than Valentino (it probably helps that Val is canonically pretty fucking blind). He definitely taught Valentino a lot of what he knows about his way around a gun, which he obviously regrets now with Val's attitude. But Angel is a great shot. He doesn't miss.
Angel likes to tap into his mobster roots a lot (I mean look how that fucker is dressed in the finale.) He also has photos on Voxtagram of him in his mobster outfit, and it's in the prequel comic so. He likes to be a mobster, as long as he is free to make his own choices - which he wasn't under his father.
Speaking of his father, his entire family was incredibly homophobic so he couldn't really express himself. This was what really pushed Anthony into the drug lifestyle. He needed to get out and numb himself from it all, as well as try to live his own life (it's why he mentions in Loser Baby that drugs/clubbing is his escape.) The drug overdose was absolutely accidental, but I imagine he got into it with either his brother or father a bit too hard that day and just pushed himself too far.
In reference to all of that, Angel loves his lifestyle. I know he doesn't like his job and he talks about how much he hates everything, but pre-Valentino, he loved it. That was what led Val to find him in the first place and be able to corrupt him. He loves doing drugs. He loves partying. He loves sex. Even if his contract with Val is broken, that isn't going to change (well, maybe the drugs since y'know he's trying to get redeemed but....he ain't giving up sex).
Speaking of contract, I didn't know this was canon apparently but it breaks my heart to think about so I'm making it a HC - Angel hasn't been redeemed yet because his soul isn't his to be redeemed. It's owned by someone else, so until his soul is released back to him, all of this is futile. Unless there is some divine intervention.
I've mentioned this before but just adding it to my long list, Angel Dust tastes like cotton candy (yes sexually you cowards). He's also intersex, but definitely 100% identifies as a cisgender man. He just has 'both' genitalia, which y'know, makes him really great in the porn industry.
Angel is Hell's hottest porn star in hundreds of years. I know Val obviously did porn (look at his damn posters haaaa) but even Valentino didn't get to that level of success. I think that's part of why Valentino knows he can't lose Angel, because so much rides (ha, punny, ha) on him.
I am just bouncing all of these off based on the previous comment. I could write an essay about Angel's love for Valentino, but yes, he does love Val. Like I was speaking with poisonedxbeauty earlier, it's all about the domestic violence cycle. Angel makes it CLEAR that Val only has control of him in the studio, so if Valentino called him while at the hotel, HE COULD SAY NO. HE COULD. But he doesn't, because there's still love for him there that keeps bringing him back and trapped in the cycle. I do think, however, that when Angel stands up to Val in that club, it has a lot to do with Husk. Husk shows him what love is supposed to look like, like he is worthy of love, and deserves to be seen for who he is. That weakens the chain of the contract, because it gives Angel the courage to say no and not go back just because he thinks Val is the only one that will love him.
Angel likes jazz music. Alastor is shook. But as a mobster highly associated within the 1920s realm, he loved a good flashy gatsby party. He also loves Broadway, especially Cabaret and Chicago. Heād love to perform in a Broadway show one day, especially because he actually does have a very talented voice.
Speaking of, I hc that Angel was 33 when he died (which is so funny bc Hazbinned and I both do and we thought it was canon but nope it just is our little brains working).
His association with The Vees fascinates me and will continue to do so. He obviously lived in the penthouse for a long time, and still has his own room (I don't care what y'all say, that is absolutely Angel's room in Poison, not Val. I don't see Val as one to really do drag and there are too many damn wigs in that room). It's obvious that Vox hates his guts (jealous little prick), but I think Angel did his best to be helpful when he was around (as will be made in the next comment). He can actually tolerate Velvette, and would sometimes spend nights getting drunk and just talking fashion with her and trashing horrible fashion tastes.
Angel is a phenomenal cook, especially when it comes to Italian food. He probably cooked far too many meals for the Vees, the ungrateful bastards. But since he was living there, and wanted to prove that he was worth something, he would pay back in terms of acts of service like that (especially since he's used to only paying back in sex and Val was the only one interested in that).
His favorite drink is a White Chocolate Macchiato with strawberry drizzle and whipped cream. Fight me. When it comes to alcohol, yes he likes fruity drinks, but his favorite liquor is actually gin or absinthe (heās a hard mobster from the twenties, he likes the hard shit).
After Cherri, I would say his ride or die is Vaggie. I hate how little kind interactions they have with each other, but even in It Starts with Sorry or the pilot alone, you can see their bond. I imagine they bond over being queer, and I just think that's kind of cute. Charlie would absolutely be next ofc. And Niffty is like a little sister to him that he just wants to defend to the death.
Speaking of friends, Angel is so clearly willing to sacrifice himself to protect his friends, which shows he isn't this selfish stuck-up persona that he puts on. He'd even risk his life for Alastor if needed, because this is his found family, the people that he loves more than anything, and he thinks their lives are worth more than his.
Molly and Angel had an incredibly close relationship due to being twins, but he would keep himself away from her more often than not because he didn't want to 'taint' her and pull her into all the mob boss stuff. There's a reason she's in Heaven, y'all, that little sweet bean. He misses her, but he doesn't talk about her much because it hurts too badly.
Angel was the first to die in his family. I said what I said.
More fact than head canon, but in case yāall didnāt know, Fat Nuggets is absolutely a drug reference. I am guessing he was named by Valentino, because I also imagine that Angel received his name from Valentino, tied into his drug addiction. Or maybe not fully received it from him, but was highly persuaded by him.
Angel is a bottom. No shock. But want to clarify that. He aināt ever topping. Good luck. His favorite position is riding, he loves sucking dick, and he has almost every kink under the sun but especially impact play and breeding. Ā
Angelās moans in the pornos are definitely fake and overexaggerated (duh). If he actually has sex with someone he loves, his pitch is much softer and wispier and even a little deeper. Anyone whoās slept with him and watches his porn will know that. And I think thatās a big reason why any of his partners (especially Husk) would be fine with his sex work. He knows itās just a job, and Angel isnāt fully enjoying it, and only he gets to see the true side of Angel in passion. And itās fucking beautiful. Itās also why Val keeps him.
Angel doesnāt have a car. Random fact. But thatās why he had to take a freaking taxi from Travis in the pilot. I imagine thatās one luxury Valentino never let him have, because it would make it so Angel could get away more often and much easier. And then he justā¦never got one.
Charlie paid for him to stay at the hotel at first, but he would have made the decision to go regardless of the money. He didnāt believe in the cause at first, but it was an excuse to move out of the penthouse and have some freedom from Valās contract. It just so happens she caught him at a vulnerable time when Valentino had punished him to work the streets overnight and he was fucking fed up.
A lot of people think Angel is a germaphobe because of the gloves, but I say no way could he be with how many random sinners heās slept with and the grungy places he hangs out. I think itās because he thinks that anything that he touches will break. Notice the only place he doesnāt wear his gloves? In the studio. Because thatās already a broken environment and it canāt get worse. He doesnāt want to touch any of his friends and have things fall to ruins. Almost Rogue-ish from Xmen. He doesnāt actually have those powers, duh, but itās the fear of cursing them with just his touch. If he takes off his gloves around you, heās being incredibly vulnerable.
Speaking of powers, yes, I do believe that Angel can produce webs. He rarely does it of course because he thinks itās kind of gross, but he definitely can. I was trying to think of how he would do this, and in my brain he just went that he can produce it from his spit and I was likeā¦.okay fam, guess weāre going with that canon then. Definitely giving Naruto vibes.
His favorite color is actually purple, not pink. Look at his room in the hotel. HE designed that room for himself. Thereās purple all over that shit.
All his pink dots are representative of the hundreds of freckles he had when he was alive.
Despite his raunchy background, he is absolutely a hopeless romantic. Heās used to being thrust into the wild side of things, but he doesnāt even use porn to get off (why would he, when itās what he does as a living). Heās much more aroused by the slow sensuality of things. Dances under the lights of Pentagram City. Candlelit dinners. Intimate massages. Making love. He likes a good fuck, hard and fast, but gentle love-making? Itās everything he's dreamed of.
Just talked about with my lovely Husk, because they were surprised that Angelās robe isnāt some level of see through. My thought behind this is that he is already incredibly emotionally vulnerable in those positions, knowing he could set Val off at any minute (noticing he only wore it in Episode 4 as well, INCLUDING at the end of Poison), so he doesnāt want to be physically vulnerable as well. For once, he doesnāt want to be seen. He wants to just disappear so that he canāt get hurt anymore.
Angel Dust was baptized and raised Catholic (as is common in Italian families). He turned his back on God fairly quickly after witnessing all the death and torture that existed in the world. But then after going to Hell he was likeā¦..oh shit, religion was actually correct in a lot of ways.
Angel speaks Italian as his native language. He specifically uses it in high emotional situations, such as when he is overly excited or incredibly angry or especially when he is incredibly horny. It basically happens when emotions are so high that he canāt think, therefore he doesnāt even realize he has fallen into his native tongue.
Iām sure I could come up with a thousand more, and Iām sure Iāve referenced more in my threads, but this is everything that came up in my brain for now that I wanted to vomit onto a page. So enjoy this random load of bullshit on my very random Angel take. Sorry for the weird numbering. Apparently there's no text limit as long as it isn't one long paragraph and the split just....numbered them like this. ;;

In lieu of a late summer commonplace book
sunday, august 25, 2024 ~ 6:30 pm
hello again c:
trying to remember what routine feels like, what my rhythm from semesters and work-weeks past felt like, and i think i had a good thing going with a sunday afternoon/evening round-up post alongside filling out my planner and to-do lists for the week. so here we are again, at long last.
reading recently finished a couple of things, several thanks to @un-serial-writer's excellent recs. pictured below in no particular order:
most time spent reading, and therefore the one that feels like the biggest accomplishment: lady, thomas tryon, a best seller from 1974 that was among the many agƩd vacation reads and slightly-musty paperbacks in the family cottage. i didn't predict the twist but it sure did take like 80% of the book to actually get to there being some genuine suspense. luckily, i like a slice-of-life and even better when it's, like, an interesting study on how the seventies thought of / wrote about nostalgia for the thirties.
least time spent reading: the intuitionist, colson whitehead, which was exceptional except that i did feel like i had missed something when i finished it. huge fan of the setting and characters and twists and atmosphere and prose, though.
most enjoyable time spent reading: prophet, by helen macdonald and sin blanchƩ, which was so goddam compelling and had such delicious dialogue, only to leave off in the middle of a GOOD SCENE C'MON. delicious character work btw the two leads! delicious concepts and premise! not sure i feel like the payoff from the main threat really...landed...but it almost doesn't matter.
most reluctantly enjoyable / frustrating time spent reading: bunny by mona awad, which i want to discuss with someone who has done an mfa in creative writing (aron. aron please. it's like not even good but it is? something?). its got two sort of big twists and i was very grateful for the first, then sort of disappointed by the second, and then the big reveal at the end actually did gratify me. i will not be forgetting this one but i also, desperately, need to mock it with someone who will understand.
watching most recently, the bear season two, because i am finally catching up with the culture. yes chef please it is so good. i just finished ep. 7, "forks," and oh my god richie. richieee. don't make me so, so proud of you. save me, juliet, etc. i also texted @madonnavenus after watching ep 6, "fishes," because that was a lot. but luckily, luckily, the emotions were manageable through the distancing effect of recognizing that it was acting, good talented but most importantly familiar actors doing incredible work (and successfully making me so, so tense and nervous ha ha). jamie lee curtis you're a queen, and also, god. sarah fucking paulson? gillian jacobs? and then also john mulaney was there, immediately recognizable, taking me out of the fiction in a useful way genuinely. but lest you think i'm forgetting our main loves, here's to sydney and marcus and ebra and tinaaaa.
i love finding these promo images online, they're always so goofy.
listening shout-out to my comfort listens this summer: the new decembrists album as it ever was, so it will be again (2024) and the associated spotify this is the decembrists playlist,
and the two podcasts 99 percent invisible's breakdown of the Power Broker and dimension 20's the unsleeping city, which in fact speak to each other so well and it was such serendipity that i ended up listening to both of them this summer. i think i said out loud, early on, "brennan you mother fucker you've read the power broker" when i was beginning to understand who the villain was going to be, and whether he actually had or not, it's a beautiful thing when your soothing book club urban design readalong ends up cluing you in to a twist in your magical new york urban fantasy liveplay.
playing today specifically i finished another language in chants of sennaar, but for the past month (while getting over covid, l m a o) it's been pokemon. old school 2DS pokemon ultramoon, for anyone who wasn't here when i first inherited it in 2020-- i've evolved three of my favorites, dear sweet primarina, my growlithe is now up an arcanine, and i've gotten my much beloved mareep up all the way to ampharos! i do wish she still looked a little more like a sheep still, the flaaffy evolution is really like peak design imo, but i still love them.
unpopular opinion maybe but i 'm really leaning into pokemon refresh, both as a former neopet kid, someone who is consistently amused by the way this mechanic forced them to animate and come up with cute/affectionate animations for like zubat, and also as someone who, like, does periodically think too much about the real-world uhhhh implications of video games. getting to scritch arcanine or cubone (which can apparently feel it even through? the skull mask? hilarious) makes it feel a little less. mean. to make them fight.
making fallow month+. i have two new patches to sew on the jean jacket, which meant rearranging a few already on there, but apart from pinning things into a possible new arrangement, no progress there.
working on - syllabus plan for fall class-- finish assignment plan tonight, finalize readings and post? by tuesday? - diss chapter 1 which is now four -- you fool. you absolute buffoon. - article draft. see above. - cover letters (x2) see aboev. - raship work because it a) pays me more immediately and b) allows me to feel in control of my life somewhat. we stan a concrete list of achievable tasks and accountability to an external structure. - oh yeah and this translation i'm working on-- for fun!
yeah, it sure is the beginning of the semester next. week.
#ilcb#in lieu of a commonplace book#weekly roundup#<-- that tag has never been less accurate!#related: if any of you know or want to share anyone out there embroidering patchesāesp fandom ones that might be also subtle/aesthetic#hit me up!

Alright y'all it's day 5! It's time for more talk of the gods and the wonderful people who voice them. This voice actor needs no introduction because I've talked about them so much, but I shall introduce them anyway! Today we're talking Aphrodite and the wonderful @totcoc0a
Aphrodite as you might already know is the goddess of love (among other things). In myths, Aphrodite is forcibly married off to Hephaestus in order to stop people from fighting over her. Aphrodite, however, isn't pleased with this arrangement and cheats on Hephaestus with Ares. I wanted to turn that story on its head and give them both more agency, similar to things that had been done with the myth of Hades and Persephone. Aph and Ares being friends who were forced into a marriage just made sense with this idea, giving them the ability to find other partners without adultery as they didn't actually want to be married. I also wanted to explore Aphrodite as demiromantic in this story. She's the goddess of love and is always pictured as desirable, but what of her desires? Her trying to create strong bonds before falling in love felt fitting to her as a character and was something that I hadn't seen explored before so I decided I'd do it myself.
As mentioned up top, Aphrodite is being played but the incredible Tatiana Gefter! I met Tot last year when she auditioned for my other show, @thefringespod. They fully knocked their audition out of the park and became the show's Marigold (another love goddess, I swear I'm not typecasting you Tot). When I started to turn this idea from a book idea to an audiodrama idea, I immediately started writing Aph with Tot's voice in mind. There is just something so magical about Tot's voice that I had to write another show for her and hope that she would say yes. And luckily for me, they did say yes. They're bringing such a life to Aphrodite and I can't wait for y'all to hear it.
In addition to being in both of my shows, you can hear Tot in her own show, @souloperatorpod which ripped my heart in half (it's incredibly good y'all) as well as The Department of Variance of Somewhere, Ohio, WOE.BEGONE, Wake of Corrosion, and a bunch of other incredible shows because she's so talented
If you would like to support Tot's work in Forged Bonds along with the rest of our amazing cast, you can check out our crowdfunder on indiegogo!
And to Tot specifically: I'm not sure what higher power I believe in but I know for a fact it was a blessing to meet you. You are an incredible friend and a ridiculously talented voice actor and writer. I'm so fucking proud of you and cant believe how lucky I am to be your friend
#pines notes#forged bonds#crowdfunding shenanigans#its once again tot appreciation time#because i love tot so much#and am so lucky i get to work with her

Today is a very exciting day! The incredible @grottopod has joined The Rusty Quill Network! Not only is this a show I adore with my whole heart, it's also a show that has my friends in it which means I get to love my friends on main again hehehe
We have to start where the show does, which means we're talking about @athansmusic ! Athan is ridiculously talented. Like. Everything he does bursts with talent and care and amazingness. You would never have guessed that The Grotto was his first podcast but it is and it's amazing. His music also is phenomenal I absolutely adore all of it, both in and out of The Grotto. I met Athan through The Grotto and have been lucky enough to get to work with him and call him a friend. Athan I'm incredibly proud of you. You're like the cool older brother I never had and I'm so happy to know you. You've made an absolutely stunning show and it deserves all of the attention it's getting and then some. Congratulations on joining RQ! I can't wait to see what this means for The Grotto
Up next is the wonderful @doomedbythenarrativ ! Lyssa is another friend I met through The Grotto and I feel so lucky to have had that happen. Not only is she ridiculously talented, they're also remarkably kind and an incredible friend. There really isn't much that Lyssa can't do- she sings, she voice acts, she's got a master's degree, she writes, she's a showrunner on a podcast, she's just super fucking cool. Getting to know them over the past almost a year has been the best and I adore them so much. I'm so lucky to get to work with them and see everything else they have coming. Lyssa I'm so fucking proud of you and everything you've accomplished! I can't wait to see what comes next
And of course there's @taytayheyhey who is one of my dearest friends. Tay's the entire reason I started listening to The Grotto to begin with- I'm the luckiest person ever because I get to work with him on 2 shows (right now at least, more to come for sure) and working with him led to me learning about The Grotto. Tay is the textbook definition of talented: a remarkable voice actor, amazing singer, writes and does sound design, and is my favorite streamer. He's one of my favorite people in this world and I'm so lucky to know him and have him in my shows. Tay "proud" doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. You've done incredible things and are gonna keep doing incredible things and I can't wait to see them. I'm unbelievably happy for you and Lyssa and Athan, yall deserve this so much
Athan, Lyssa, and Tay are three of my favorite people on this planet and I'm so excited for them and everything that's coming with The Grotto. I love y'all so much and can't wait for everyone to see the amazing things y'all are doing
#the grotto#grottopod#the grotto podcast#i love my friends so much yall#and if my friends are reading these tags: GET LOVED IDIOTS#pine throws thoughts into the void of tumblr

Having listened to the Graphic Audio full-cast audobook for All Systems Red, it was fun but I have some thoughts about the voice acting and direction. So now Iām just daydreaming about āif I had Billionaire Money I would buy the audio rights to TMBD and direct and produce another full cast audio version with voice actors handpicked and paid lavishly by Me.ā
The cast being:
All Systems Red:
Murderbot: Kevin R. Free is the voice of Murderbot to a lot of people. I would think very hard about this but it would be a foundational return to form. However I feel like I want to reach out and find a non-binary VA because it's a niche that's been tragically underrepresented in Murderbot VAs. I joked before about Vico Ortiz playing live-action Murderbot but do they want to try their hand at voice acting?
Mensah: Cecilia Lynn-Jacobs. Voices Captain Lovelace on Wolf 359. Has incredible talent and range and does the Intrepid Galactic Explorer so well.
Pin-Lee: Emily Woo Zeller. An audiobook narrator I've consistently liked.
Ratthi: Stephen Dookie. He plays the part of Polites in Epic: The Musical and he's excellent in a very sweet, upbeat, friendly way.
Gurathin: Sungwon "ProZD" Cho. I'm picturing somewhere in the range of his Miles Edgeworth voice for this.
Arada: Michelle "Vixy" Dockrey. She's a singer not a VA but her voice sounds so nice.
Overse: Tanja Milojevic. Her range is incredible.
Bharadwaj: Rukhmani Desai (Captain Tripathi, The Strange Case of Starship Iris. She has that calm, reasonable, rational, desperately kind character voice she plays well in Starship Iris that I think would go well for Bharadwaj)
Volescu: Zach Valenti. The vibes are right.
Additional voices by Tanja Milojevic and Zach Valenti. Yes all of them.
Artificial Condition:
ART: Janelle MonƔe and I mean it
Tapan: ItMe of InCo Podcast
The ComfortUnit: also ItMe because an important part of listening to faer acting is realizing in awe how fae voices so many characters at once and make them all sound distinct.
Tlacey: kinda thinking Ariela Rotenberg. she does smugly confidently evil very well. However we cannot discount casting ItMe for this role also
Additional voices by Tanja Milojevic and Zach Valenti.
Rogue Protocol:
Don Abene: Emma Sherr-Ziarko. She also deserves to be an intrepid space leader again.
Miki: ItMe again in InCo Season 2 Updated SAWA mode
Wilken: me. I want a part. I could totally be a badass evil space assassin
Gerth: does Gerth even have any lines.
Additional voices by Tanja Milojevic and Zach Valenti.
Exit Strategy:
Serrat: Zach Libresco. this casting + Janelle MonƔe as ART were what drove me to make this post in the first place.
The Combat SecUnit: Ellen McLain in GLaDOS mode. All 2 lines it has.
Network Effect:
Amena: Ishani Kanetkar (The Strange Case of Starship Iris, The Godshead Incidental, excellent VA for a proud and curious but scared young person)
Iris: Jordan Cobb (Janus Descending, Primordial Deep, excellent VA for a gritted-teeth calm scientist in a strange and dangerous place)
Seth: Avery Brooks (I know it is not the 90s anymore. but. Captain Sisko. I can imagine <3 )
Martyn: Alexander Siddig / Siddig El-Fadil (Dr. Bashir). They're TV actors but! I want them as the Ship Captain Husbands
The rest of ART's crew: other podcast VAs I love who I haven't come up with a role for yet. Kristen DiMercurio, Beth Eyre, James Oliva.
Supervisor Leonide: Claudia Christian (Commander Ivanova on Babylon 5 <333 )
Eletra: Michaela Swee who is very busy working at An Actual Hospital but I have a billion dollars in this dream scenario so I can pay her to take a day and record like 4 lines
Ras: Zach Valenti. This is very important.
Three: Jackie Andrews who plays R. J. McCabe on Starship Iris and Elinor Lopez on The Pasithea Powder has the right Vibes For This
Zach Valenti as the Additional Voice of every goon and target who gets the shit scared out of them and/or dies.
Fugitive Telemetry:
Indah: Molly Olguin maybe. she could Be Indah. Absolutely means we need Jackie Hedeman to have a role in FT too.
Tifany: Michelle Agresti (Wolf 359, Arden)
Aylen: Tracey Sayed (also Arden)
Jollybaby, Tellus, Balin: I would open the floor to the delightful Murderbot fandom. Who wants to voice a Preservation bot
Additional voices by--well you know the drill.
#The Murderbot Diaries#fancast#ItMe InCo Creator I hope you're okay with me tagging you. I don't know your name#this is a sign for everyone to listen to Wolf 359; The Strange Case of Starship Iris; InCo; Arden; The Pasithea Powder; and Janus Descendin#whoof I put way too much time and effort into this

for the fic writer ask meme: 11, 15, 16, 26?
Hi Swan! Thanks for sending in an ask <333 (I think you're very cool and talented so whenever you talk to me I'm like. Whoa!!!)
11. What's an idea for a fic you've had that you'll probably never write?
OKAY SO I was talking with @lucienne-thee-librarian once and I came up with a Unity Kincaid x Desire of the Endless human AU. Desire (my favorite human AU name for them is Desmond) is a spy and they're supposed to seduce Unity, scion of a powerful and politically influential family. Desmond's been in the business for quite some time, they know their shit, they have a reputation to uphold. And then Unity Kincaid happens to them, and she's like nothing they expected her to be.
Desmond is fucked.
Title: Code Name Desire
Reasons why I will never actually write this: I am hilariously ill-equipped to write ANY kind of spy shenanigans. I can barely hash out what Lucienne does in her work day when I write her fics. Also, I would rather microwave my entire head than try to write any work of fiction regarding U.S. patriotism and/or British politics. Given the nationalities of Desire and Unity's actors, that would be a major stumbling block in attempting to get this story off the ground.
15. What are some of your favorite tropes to write?
*cups hands over mouth* HURT/COMFOOOOOOOORT!!!! That's my bread and butter. Also I have to stop myself from inserting a forehead touch into 90% of my fics.
16. What are you favorite characters to write?
Well. Y'see. There's a certain woman who is the steward of every story ever written or dreamt, who is vibrant and grounded and sure of herself and exceptional and I just think she's. Very neat. Her name is Lucienne, did you know?
Additionally, Calliope is very, very dear to me.
26. What fic are you proudest of?
Someone asked this earlier and I used that opportunity to talk about "hacia el mar, un lucero: recuƩrdalo", which is certainly an incredibly special work to me. But another one I'm proud of is "i carried this for years." It was the first fic where I explored Lucienne's trauma and how she gives herself the space to hold it, to not just shove it away or dismiss it in the face of--to her eyes--"larger" issues. And on a technical level, I think a lot of the actual prose in that story is pretty solid as well!

"I don't know if there's many actors who like looking at themselves on camera, maybe I'm wrong. I've seen it, I've seen - I've seen it, I was kind of; I was completely knocked out, I was completely kind of emotionally winded by the whole experience. It, it does leave you kind of in tatters, you know? Yeah."
"You know I was talking to Matt Damon about this because he had to do very similar equations in Good Will Hunting, and it becomes kind of like hieroglyphics, you know? It was very satisfying to do it and very satisfying to learn as I wrote. I had a vague, conceptual kind of understanding of what, of what I was doing, but I remember the first time I got to write the, the equation - I'd be practicing for months and months and months - and then Chris just turned the camera on me and not on the board so you never even see it."
"Oh that's interesting. Yeah that's interesting because normally I do have a playlist for, for every film, but for this one I, I didn't - yeah, I didn't. I think because it was so intellectual and there was so much weight - I mean he was, he was very into the arts, Oppenheimer; I mean like he really appreciated music, he wrote poetry, you know, he was, he was a big reader, spoke so many languages. But no I, actually for this one I didn't; I don't think I had enough room in my brain."
"Oh gosh. Gosh, that's a very difficult question. Oh, I don't know. I, I - you always hope that there's one film you make that touches someone and kind of speaks to them directly and that, that can be held up as, as a work of art, if you can do one of those I'd be very proud."
"Yeah, I actually sleep pretty well. The - we worked at such a furious pace on this film, like we shot it in 57 days or something, like we were flying all over America and I, I - so I slept, I slept, I slept pretty well when I, when I could, yeah."
"Oh I don't - I don't know. You see like I, you know many of his contemporaries said he was the most brilliant of them all - of the men of, of that time in physics; that he was the most brilliant. I don't know, you, you, apparently he had a very, very dry sense of humour, he made a great Martini; I'd probably keep it on that level, yeah. Yeah, yeah."
"You get used to it. I mean I'm lucky that I've kind of, I'm a, I'm a Nolan veteran so I'm used to the, the cameras and we have an amazing DP, Hoyte van Hoytema, so you - you get used to it, you know; you get very, very used to it. They do make an incredible racket when they're rolling, but again you just get used to that."
"He was busy; he's very much in demand these days. But yeah, Rob, off the back of Tenet, where we refer to Oppenheimer and I, and I wrote a thing about this incredible moment that, that Oppenheimer and the scientists of the Manhattan Project had where they could not completely eliminate the possibility that when they triggered that first gadget, that first atomic device, they might start the chain reaction that would destroy the world. And that, we use that as metaphor for Tenet which, which Rob was in, and as a wrap gift he gave me a book of Oppenheimer's speeches from the 1950s, where you're reading these great intellects trying to deal with the massive consequences of the way in which they've changed life forever for all of us. And I really got, got hooked and got hooked on the story."
"You know, I think I mean all of these big gags from, you know, stuff we did to Dark Knight, Tenet and obviously Oppenheimer with the Trinity Test, you're always focused in on that moment where your massive team of talented people have brought it together for some giant event that there is the limitations of theory; you've theorized about it, you've planned it, but you never quite know how it's going to go off, and so you have to build in massive safety margins and, and all of that. But there is incredible tension leading up to that and, for example in The Dark Knight where we destroyed the hospital and Heath, as the Joker is walking out of that hospital, that was a one-time thing. That building was collapsed at the end of it and, and we were done. And so there's incredible focus and tension from everybody and doing the Trinity Test in Oppenheimer in camera, doing real world effects and having us out in the desert with the actors waiting for this incredible moment, it gave us you know, some small feeling of, of what it must've been like to be there for the, the original detonation and it was - it was thrilling and terrifying and beautiful and dangerous all in equal measure."
"I, you know, I am a pretty good sleeper these days but no, sometimes you get a lot of thoughts going on, you, you're trying to wrestle with all those things and yeah, you'll, you'll process them and that'll keep you awake sometimes. But I trust that process; that you need to be working things out in advance and then you get to set or you hit the typewriter, or whichever bit of the process you're engaged with, refreshed and, and having thought a lot ahead of time about what you need, because my job on set is to provide answers. You know, I have to be there to answer everybody's questions and wrangle things and everything, so preparation's everything and yeah, some of that preparation does happen in the middle of the night when you'd rather be sleeping, yes."
"I couldn't possibly answer that other than by saying probably the latest one, whatever I've just done. Yeah, I mean that's the thing, you don't know; I mean the thing with every film is - for me the film's not finished until the audience finishes it. You know, you put it out to the audience and you're in a dialogue with them and they're telling you what it is you've done, and that's when you feel what the movie is and how it might resonate in the future. And you know, my hope for every film is that it sticks with people in some way."
"Oh no, I don't, I don't really notice it that much anymore. I can't - I think maybe it's just like you become a creature of habit, of trying to block that out and maybe I was just sucked into the vortex of Cillian's eyes too much to notice anything: I was just like: "That's all you see.""
"Also Hoyte, our, our DP, and he operates; he's very - he's very unassuming, he's very -"
"He sort of disappears, and Chris also is not someone who hides behind the monitors, he doesn't even have monitors -"
"No, he's right there."
"He'll stand by the camera and Chris is like a tall guy, but you somehow don't see him either. I don't know; there's so much focus on set, that's what I think is really it. There's no chaos, there's so much focus that even as you're doing the scene whether there's a massive IMAX camera or Chris Nolan right there, it's focused on you, so you just are concentrating."
"Well there's also an intimacy like, you know, you're kind of in a little group, in a huddle that it's like you're there with Hoyte and Chris and talking, and then suddenly Hoyte's got the camera on his shoulder and -"
"I don't even know how he puts it on his shoulder."
"I know that camera's gotta be 100, it's 85, something crazy like that."
"He's just permanently in back pain, he must be."
"Nobody's - you don't complain on a Chris Nolan set, ever."
"Drinking? I mean I was sort of just, I was practicing off set, but I wouldn't do it on set."
"Yeah; I don't think you can play drunk that well if you're drunk."
"I've tried it once; I've tried it once. Yeah, not on this one - years ago, and it was a disaster."
"There's a famous story about Brando doing that."
"And about Robert Shaw on Jaws."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah."
"Brando went down to a beach and said: "Come and get me when you're ready to shoot" and he was just -"
"Was he wasted?"
"Passed out. That's the story; I don't know that, if it's, if it's -"
"The amazing speech in Jaws that Robert Shaw does, they - they tried it one night and he'd been drinking, and they went and re-shot the whole thing the next day, because Robert Shaw woke up the next day and he said to Spielberg: "How badly did I embarrass myself?" and Spielberg said: "Not monumentally, would you like to do it again?" and he goes "Yes." And he did it again - and of course, it's the best monologue in history."
"This one."
"Yeah, this one would be right up there. I mean, there's not a bigger story to happen to humanity in the last, you know, in the history of humanity. So I don't know, I don't know what bigger story there would be to tell."
"I'm so proud of this one. Yeah - maybe this one."
"I feel like my problems are so insignificant compared to Oppenheimer's, you know?"
"But what Opp - what, what his problems wrought on and you know, his beautiful brain kind of wrought on the rest of us, that keeps me up at night. That's certainly one of the things I think about, and I think about it a lot more now having done the film and having kind of re-engaged with this. Because it's that kind of thing when you start to think about it you go: "I don't want to think about that, it's - it's too much", but it's there and it's been there, kind of looming over us, for, for eighty years now."
"Well I think, I mean to play a character like her was interesting because she's - I mean I love being a mother, I think Kitty was not a natural nurturer, I don't think she should have been a mother. I think she had great ambition for intellectual pursuits that she had to contort and limit to make sure his, his were fostered. And she did it happily; that was sort of what was expected of her at the time, but clearly you see a deterioration in the character, of that brilliant brain sort of going to waste at the ironing board in that isolation of Los Alamos. And so I think as a parent, playing her and how crap of a mother she was, was tough you know; I always feel bad like not being sweet with kids on screen, it was just brutal."
"But you were very sweet with them after that, after cut."
"I mean off set, I'd be singing like Peppa Pig and stuff and, you know, and they were so cute those kids; they were so lovely, so I just had to be so sweet with them when the cameras weren't rolling. And then when the cameras were rolling, I was sort of in eye-roll mode. I was like: "These poor babies.""
"No, God no, no, no. I, I never did that. We were laughing about it, it's like - it's a different language; and you just look at it and memorize it like it's hieroglyphics and you, and you try to get it right and, and the technical advisor looks, it was like: "You nailed it" and you're like: "Good, never make me do that again.""

I forgot to ask l. who are your favourite french actors ? Regardless of the field they work (TV, cinema, web, theatre, etc) qui sont tes prĆ©fĆØres ? Et qui tu voulais voir en Dix Pour Cent Saison 5? (I hope m'y grammar is not terrible in there š)
that's such a hard question i crush on so many actors plssssss
but the first one that comes to mind is definitely marina foĆÆs, i dream of having her on dix pour cent she's such a bicon & a milf........ she would actually get me invested in the show ksjksj
loml i just love her so much she's a comedic genius with a mean lesbian energyā¢ i-
obvi i pretty much dedicate this blog to antoine de caunes, also known on tumblr as "the eurotrash guy that isn't jean-paul gaultier", he used to be super big on french television as a talk show comedian/host, then he directed some movies & acted in a few stuff, now he has a radio show and he's so gorgeous, can you believe this man is almost 70??? lies. liesss. edouard baer also has the same vibe but he's a more "serious" actor (in the sense that he has way more acting credits and he's also super active in theater). both of them make me laugh so hard & they're also super talented with words??
i'm just gonna write down a bunch of other people's names because i don't want to make another super long post when i'm just gonna gush over them ksjksjskj but also:
alain chabat (literally a father figure to me, he's a comedy genius and invents such stupidly inventive concepts, it's amazing. i think his movie RRRrrrr!! is the funniest piece of french culture ever)
omar sy (i grew up watching his hilarious sketches on tv and now he's gone international & acts in super huge stuff, i'm so proud of my baby)
pierre niney (he's probably the one french actor from this generation that i just know is going to remain an official iconā¢ of french cinema, like in 30 years he's gonna be as big as belmondo or delon, for sure. his acting is so incredible??)
virginie efira (she's the loml, she started out on tv as well and now she's making it big in hollywood, good for her!!! she's probably the cutest, most genuine person in french cinema and she deserves the world)
eleonore costes (she's mostly in web contents and she writes a lot of interesting ones too, & also actresses are super rare in comedy on the web in france, idk if it's the same in other countries but anyway, lolo costes is the 1 french content creator that always comes to my mind first)
i have a lot of other favs but yeah i'm gonna stop there kjskjsksj most of those people are or have been involved in comedy work for a while, i believe that's my fav genre in french cinema for now,,, (also drama actors are often super problematic so i rarely like themĀ š)
#asks#also don't worry your grammar is totally fine and i understood you easily š#obvi it's not *flawless* but french is such a hard language i actually admire you for learning it and trying to use it in convos#i could never have learned it if i wasn't born here istg it's a nightmare language i'm lucky af š#also apart from *1* missing accent and a tiny error in conjugation you're literally doing perfect???#i'm pretty sure i've made more mistakes than that when i answered in english lmao#marina foĆÆs#adc

for got7's 7th anniversary, here are 7 reasons why i'm here to stay to support them for life. š£š
#7YearsWithGOT7 #ź°ģøėøķ¬ģė²_ģź°ģėģ“ėģź° #GOT7Ā #ź°ģøėø
1. They are 7 insanely talented individuals.
Like literally, I have no words. When I first met them and saw their videos online, I was amazed by not only their visuals, their vocals, and their difficult choreographies that they manage to dance perfectly in synch. They literally scream king shit behavior when they get on that stage. Their stage presence is out of this world! These 7 young men continue to astound us with their ability to write and produce their own songs.
2. The bond between them is genuine and pure.
Just a little background, I first met GOT7 on weekly idol. Their humor got me hooked, however, in that short span of time, I was able to see how much they're having fun with each other. It's not just the jokes that they make with each other, it's not just about how they make fun of jaebeom or how much they laugh whenever jackson cracks up a joke. It's different. The friendship that they have goes beyond what we see on stage and in front of the cameras. Their brotherhood? It's real. Seven or never, seven or nothing. That alone speaks volume. For me that's what sets them apart from the other groups (no offense please, I'm just appreciating what they have as a group).
3. Their passion for music and arts.
Like I said, GOT7 has an incredible talent with writing or producing their songs. It feels different listening to a song knowing that they made it. Also, not only are they great singers and performers, but some of the members like Jinyoung and (soon)Youngjae are great actors as well. Jaebeom was able to act before and I really do hope that Mark will be given the chance to act as well. Manifesting this so that they can engage in other activities which will make them happier as an artist.
4. They deserve better.
The fact that they have been mistreated in their supposed company wrecks my heart. The amount of times that they were held back, they truly deserved better than that. I'm just glad that now they are free!!! They can finally show their potential and grow even further as artists.
5. They're humble.
Despite the success that they have achieved, GOT7 makes sure that they stay humble. Other artists are about keeping the image that they have, however, GOT7 for me is very real. They show the cameras who they really are. They are kind to the people around them. Aside from the fact that they are pretty loud especially when they're together, even the staffs are astounded with the humility that this group is showing. This makes me proud as an ahgase.
6. They love their ahgases so much.
Probably my favorite reason! We know in our hearts that GOT7 loves us as much as we love them. The fanservice that they give is out of this world. They interact with their fans as much as they could on twitter (shoutout to Bambam who's yet to give me attention on twitter lol). Even Jackson has his own fair shares of fantalk. The way Yugyeom starts his captions on instagrams with #igot7. The way Jaebeom was pranked by ahgases on his birthday. The assurance that Mark gave us on that chaotic day! Their love for their fanbase is real, genuine. It makes us feel like we're not just their fans but we're really a family and we're in this together. Forever.
7. This is just the beginning.
Finally, the end of their contract in their previous company marks not the end, but a new beginning for them. GOT7 is still and will always be GOT7. Now that there's nothing holding them back, they can finally conquer the world and show them who they really are. We may have tough times but I'm still going to support them. Through good times and the bad. We're a team. I will always be their #1 supporter and I can't wait for what they're about to achieve in the near future.
Happy 7th anniversay, GOT7! Thank you for inspiring me to be a better person everyday. I love you forever.

Bohemian Rhapsody Rantā¢ š
Just saw Bohemian Rhapsody š It was so good, I'm so proud of the boys for representing Queen so well.
It's funny, even though Queen is such a huge band, there's so much most people don't know about the four members, and so much of their music that's been largely unrecognized. So even though they're so big, they still feel very personal to me and it felt so surreal watching these wonderful actors playing my boys on the big screen. I realized during the Live Aid portion just how surreal this all is; a big movie, that millions of people around the world will see, learning about my boys, their struggles, their amazing talent. Wow.
I very much enjoyed the movie, and my family and friends I was with also loved it. The actors all look and act quite similar to the members, but I still can't believe how much Gwilym looks like Brian, it's really just uncanny š± The Live Aid performance was incredible, they just nailed it omg and throughout the whole movie I just wanted to sing every song š
Now for a few critiques (I critique because I love, and these are just my opinions): I would say that the one thing I wished they'd focused a tiny bit more is the things that went well for the boys. It felt a little "oh and things went well for them for a few years, here's a quick happy montage; now let's spend 15 mins on this one very sad thing", but maybe that's just me. I wanted to see a little more of Freddie's relationship with the band. They kept saying "we're a family" but didn't show it enough imo. But I liked being able to see more of his relationships with Mary and Jim than I'd known before. I don't tend to know as much about the boys' personal lives, as it's, well, personal. Just whatever they speak of publicly. Also I had to keep reminding myself this movie is mainly about Freddie and the story from his point of view; to me, the four members are equal parts, so it got a little off putting seeing it portrayed like "FREDDIE and the three guys" at times, although I know that's how most of the public sees the band. Like it was like Freddie had his own life while the others lived inside some little bubble waiting to do some Queen stuff, instead of people with their own lives. Maybe it's just the fact I'm so in love with all four of the members and know very little about Mary, but I found the scenes with Mary to drag on a bit too long and the scenes with the band to be much too short.
Overall, it was a great movie and I want to see it again like now š¤§š

Well we've reached public release of the @souloperatorpod mid-season finale and I'm still unwell about it so it's spoiler thread time let's go!
Tessa leaving felt impossible when she decided to leave after episode 9. Episode 10 proved that it was, in fact, impossible. Introducing a literal creature, clearly massive and monstrous, making you think that *that's* going to be the threat of the episode only to have Tessa step on a fucking bear trap?? Absolutely evil and so fucking well done on Tot's part. It's such good writing that I can't even be mad but I'm still screaming internally. I know Tot well enough to know this was the same bear trap that was sent to Tessa. There's no way it wasn't. It's a brilliant bit of foreshadowing because you truly do not know why a bear trap would've been sent until you hear them screaming as their leg is crushed. Tot is too good at screaming and crying in pain in podcasts, I will never emotionally recover. Like it HURT to hear, she's that good.
Tessa sending away Lucy, trying to get this loyal dog to leave so she doesn't get got by the monster broke my heart. They're so content to die and it hurts me so bad. And then Tot brings Dean into it? When I heard Dean I lost my mind I wanted him to be alive but he wasn't. There's no bringing him back, but he's still trying to save Tessa anyway. "It wasn't your fault. Tell my brother it wasn't his fault either" Tot what if I sob? What if I scream and cry and throw up?
And somehow this wasn't even the part that hurt me most! No THAT honor is reserved for when Nate gets there, trying his best to save Tessa. "I want to die." "I won't let you." It's been a week and I'm still unwell over this I mean seriously Tot how could you do this to me? And then to have Nate actually listen to Tessa and realize that she wasn't the cause of Dean's death while she's bleeding out in his arms? Now he feels responsible for both his brother AND his friend's death! And while I doubt Tessa is dead, Nate doesn't know that right now and I'm going to lose my mind over it I mean Tot. Tot. You didn't have to do that.
This episode perfectly punctuates the end of an incredible first half of the season. It asks more questions than it answers but in the best possible way. Tot's writing is masterful and is brought to life so well by them and their cast, I could, have, and will weep from it. Soul Operator is going on a hiatus after this to finish up the rest of season 1. There has never been a better time to listen to this show and everything it has to offer. I'm so incredibly proud of @totcoc0a and everything she's accomplished with the first half of the season
Tot not only are you an incredibly talented writer and voice actor, you're also a marvelous friend and I feel so lucky to know you every day of my life. The first half of the season destroyed me in the best way and I can't wait to see how you continue to break me
This concludes our last Soul Operator thread for a while! If you're not listening to Soul Operator nows the time to start. And if you ARE listening to Soul Operator, please come scream about it with me I love it so much
#soul operator#souloperatorpod#soul operator podcast#i fucking love this show so much and need everyone to listen RIGHT NOW#pine throws thoughts into the void of tumblr
