Me, militantly, aggressively anti-Christian, included the Crusades on the curriculum specifically to undo decades of Christian grooming in my students:
Also me, braying along to the Last Stand while lifting heavy: For the faith, for the way of the sword, gave their lives so boooldly!

Things that I personally like to believe about Tim Drake because of maybe projection.
He listens to IDKhow because their songs are the sort of villainous vibe he slightly exudes whenever he's slightly desperate for survival, mental décline due to situational horrors, or just general unhinged feralness.
He either has no concept about gender norms and so he dresses in many ways (drag, fem-presenting, masc-presenting, the likes and the other yk) or he does but gives no ducks and instead dresses however he wants cause he deserves it.
He is queer, like not any specific sexuality except for his bisexuality but he is also queer in the gender department ( be it genderfluid, agender or nonbinary, trans, any of these are great in my book, kinda want more genderfluid Tim fics tbh)
His parents actually took him on their trips after the whole circus The-Flying-Graysons-death which is very traumatic for an adult so of course those two did not let go of him until one time when he was nine and figured out the Batclan identities and have, infact begged of them to stay so he can have easier access to Gotham news
His fav Robin in general is Dick, his fav Robin who operated during his stay in Gotham was Jason cause of the Robin Magic™ and cause of his cheery and loving nature towards Gotham of which he shared, no I will not go back on this
Animals love him and any time a villain has animals in their plans, after they're defeated the animals let him pet them, or any general animal in his vicinity tbh; this includes but not limited to: Dex-Starr, Teekl, those mutated big cats that Catman from BTAS had that now live with him in the Monarch Theater,,, general dangerous animals tbh I want him to have the vibes of a villain who owns dangerous beasts but they're honest to god are just pampered pets who are given anything they want
Him and Damian actually do get along when it comes to the same goal and being general menaces and annoyances, they both realize that if they enable each other they will in fact somehow take over the world and that is too much of an annoyance and time filling schedule that their hyperfixation would have not been in and that could not be allowed
He can cook decently well but doesn't be it due to exhaustion, pain, laziness, or cause his fav person offered him food and he loves them so ofc he's accept, the YJ team both current and retired are those who he majorly cooks for, as well as Damian if they're together, sometimes when Bernard is tired he'd cook for him
The reason Bernard cooks most of the time is cause of mutual love between them, like Bernard adores both cooking for Tim and the loving gaze Tim gives him whenever he cooks for him; Tim on the other hand adores Bernard whenever he cooks something cause he'd do the tiniest specific things like sticking his tongue out when plating, tapping his feet in a rythm or his fingers on the cooking utensils that are nearest to him, he finds it charming the way his shoulders would bop as if he's listening to a catchy tune,, many lovey feelings on both sides really.
He looks the most as his mother, his grandmother (Janet's side) than his dad, but sometimes when he looks loving his face turns in a way that is a lovely mix of Jack's and Janet's loving smiles that they used to give each other and most importantly, Tim
Whenever his birthday rolled around and his parents would be unable to come back to Gotham, they would buy him pillows, blankets, and stuffed extinct animals that they'd cuddle for a while and warm so he'd at least get a tiny bit of their unofficial-official 'Drake-Birthday-Cuddlepile!' that they did ever since his fourth birthday after Haley's Circus.
He has abandonment issues thanks to his parents unintentional negligence alongside many emotional and mental issues despite them loving him to hell and back, they're bad parents in the 'physically present' department but they didn't physically lay a hand on Tim cause they were trying to break generatonal abuse and trauma cycles but have infact didn't cause they emotionally abused him and they didn't realize cause their abuse was physical and they thought there was a difference. No Janet and Jack, abuse is abuse even if emotional y'all really fucked up a child.
Mrs.Mac was this random lady they found on their trips that babysat Tim one (1) time, and then hired her and took her with cause tiny Tim adored her and they thought she was fun cause she kept up with their archeology facts especially the medical sort of archeology

Fav Books with Lesbian Characters
Oh ho ho it is Lesbian Visibility Week?? We have books for that.
Tumblr media
There are SO MANY good books with lesbian characters out there these days! In my day, we had to walk 15 miles in the snow uphill both ways for just a lingering look between two ladies that might be interpreted as sapphic. Now we have CHOICES. Here are just a few of my favs:
The Wayward Children Series (particularly Down Among the Sticks and Bones and Come Tumbling Down) by @seananmcguire
I'll stop reccing Wayward Children when everyone has read it. The whole series features queer characters, but Down Among the Sticks and Bones (book 2) and Come Tumbling Down (book 5), featuring horror twins Jack (lesbian mad scientist) and Jill (I won't spoil it) are particular favorites of mine. And don't be intimidated by how many books are in the series - they're novellas!
All Out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens throughout the Ages edited by Saundra Mitchell
Speaking of not having time for full-length novels, how about an anthology of short stories? It's so wonderful to have story after story centering queer characters, especially for historical fiction fans. You'll find plenty of wlw rep in several iconic eras, from the 1700s to the 1950s.
The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir
Yes, yes, we've all heard the lesbian necromancers in space tagline, but a catchy tagline isn't the only reason people rave about this book. The storyline is absolutely wild, and so is the writing style - a dizzying blend of baroque gothic intensity and modern linguistic turns of phrase. And that's before you even get to whatever is going on in book 2 (second person???? How? Why??) It shouldn't work, but it does. There are murders, conspiracies, politics, duels, horrors beyond human ken, and yes, lesbians. Start with Gideon the Ninth.
The Great Cities duology by @nkjemisin
New York City is awakening into a Great City, and each of its boroughs has manifested a human avatar. There's a big cast of characters, but you'll never feel confused about who is who, or bored with one particular viewpoint. The character work in this book is phenom. There's also Lovecraftian horrors, very little romance, the best found family on the Eastern Seaboard, and a lot of love for New York. If you liked Neverwhere by @neil-gaiman, you'll like this. Start with The City We Became.

Coming off from my previous ask, imagine the Twst boys and staff surprised when they're invited to a concert of "Twisted Wonderland Six the Musical edition" of Minako and her relatives singing with the ghosts of their 9-times great Grandmothers/Ancestors, who sre literal forgotten historical figures just jamming out songs like theirs no tommorow
Lilia and Crowley are like: (⊙_☉) Minty? (they mean Minuette) Nelly? (they mean Ornella) You're alive?!
Everyone else is a little confused. Who are these women? Why do I feel like I've seen two of them in old pictures before? And why does one of them look so much like Minako?
The confused lot includes Malleus (invited to an event, yay!) who is canonically 178 years old and is not old enough to remember the Moseleys. However, the bedtime stories that Lilia has been telling him about mice and rabbits are coming back.
Aside from the confusion though, NRC is really digging Six the Musical. Minako looks great dancing in her green Anne Boleyn outfit.
Leona is awake out of respect for Minako and her relatives(?) onstage. He may look bored, but really he's thinking, "This Henry VIII dude sounds like he should get beheaded." Ruggie and Jack are cheering like, "yeah, stick it to that asshole. Go queens!"
Light Music Club members are cheering with glow sticks and singing along. They're the rowdiest audience, members. You'll find Kalim, Cater, and Lilia begging Minako to perform covers with them for the songs.
Vil is quite fond of the production (if you could call it that) altogether. He can tell that whoever the was lyricist was had fun writing the songs. He can behind Minako's energy in "Don't Lose Your Head" and manic characterization of Anne. Who knew that that girl could act and sing? He'll be convincing her to come to the Film Studies Club after the performance is done.
Unsurprisingly, Rook "Beauté! 100 points!" Hunt is a fan. He loves "Haus of Holbein" the most. He's probably into learning about weird and deadly beauty trends of the past.
Epel tries so hard to not like something so girly, but it's so catchy that he starts tapping his foot and eventually gives in to cheer along to the songs.
Crewel is like, "Where did Minako get those costumes, and how do I make one?" Mozus doesn't like pop music too much, but he likes the historical aspect of the musical. Ashton quite likes the music and asks Minako to help him download the songs on his playlist for his workout routine. Sam makes a profit by having bootleg videos of the show for sale, like one of those illegally recorded Broadway shows, and they sell out within a couple of hours.

Dunkin "The DunKings" Super Bowl Commercial
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, welcome back! Following multiple discussions on significant issues and fundamentals of digital media, this week's discussion will focus on something a little bit different. This past Sunday, February 11th, the Super Bowl took place. It is one of the most watched events in the US. A lot of people watch the game and the halftime show, but it's also safe to say that a lot of people watch the ads during the breaks. As a student who is studying advertising and public relations, I feel like I need to talk about how these ads affect society and culture. Ads during the Super Bowl aren't just any kind of ads these days; they're part of a bigger culture trend. Businesses spend a lot of money on some media in the hopes that it will make an effect that lasts.
One commercial that stood out to me during the Super Bowl commercials was the Dunkin Donuts “Dunkings'' featuring Ben Affleck. In a new ad for an iced coffee drink that will be available on Monday, Ben Affleck attempts to win over Jennifer Lopez, who is his business partner. The commercial features Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Tom Brady going against the advice of rapper Jack Harlow and creating a band under the name of "the Dunkings." The commercial for Dunkin' Donuts that was shown during the Super Bowl is unique in terms of its chances for success in the world of digital media for a number of reasons. Among the many reasons this ad will stick in people's minds is the inclusion of such famous faces in the campaign, which attracted the interest of viewers of all generations and created a buzz.Parts of the commercial were uploaded to TikTok before the Super Bowl, drawing attention from all around the US because of how easy it is to do so. Thanks to its ability to include well-known celebrities in engaging, but brief, tales, the brand is able to stay ahead of consumers' thoughts in the competitive digital world.
Another important thing about the ad that makes it so popular online is that it mixes comedy and drama into one package. Creative work went into making the ads fun to watch and easy to share across platforms. Advertisements that talk about important things like friendship make them much easier for people to remember. You can easily remember the ad because it has a catchy song and an interesting story. When there is a lot of stuff available online, this helps it stand out from others. Ads for "Dunkings" are easy to remember, even when they are smaller. Businesses usually have a hard time making material that people remember, but Dunkin' Donuts' Super Bowl ad does a great job of it.
For those who want to learn more about the big wins that came from the "Dunkings" Super Bowl ad, Cinemablend has an interesting look at how it affected things after the event. The piece does a great job of explaining a few important things that happened after the Super Bowl that had a big effect on the commercial's success.
See you next week!
