Season 2 Episode 3: Promise

This episode was PEAK Hurt/Comfort and I ate up every second of it!! Exams and coursework are finally over and the boys are freee. Taoelle is FINALLY moving forward and so are Darcy and Tara! Isaac's got a cute new friend named James 👀

Everyone gets together for an end of exams bonfire which is kind of giving a mix of Coachella (everyone's make up and outfits) and Burning Man but for teenagers.

Spoilers Below:

- I am living for the study montages between Nick doing Maths and Charlie doing History, then there's Tao researching how to woo your bestie 😂😂 It's hilarious

- YESS to Issac and Charlie helping Tao come up with the perfect first date. They're so adorable!! Yeah, the book date is Issac's dream date but come on that is so cute please

- I LOVE when the comic panels are adapted directly onto screen. I got my chaotic rugby lads trio panel come to life. I wish it wasn't cut short though because this whole scene is hilarious:

- The scene with Mrs Singh and Nick!! I loved that her picture with her wife looks exactly the same as the comics! Though this is where I noticed the series is starting to take a turn from the original comics.

- I don't mind them, they are interesting and new changes that give the comic readers something fresh to look forward to. It's been interesting to see

- Isaac and James are so so adorable already. Poor James though he's crushing hard on Isaac and doesn't know what's coming. He is so cute in puppy love though. He's so nice to the rest of the friend group too! Points for James ❤

- Tao's makeover HAD ME SHOOK!! Like I said; he looks like TONY LEUNG!! 10/10 was super intentional making him look that way. The flowere were such a nice touch and so lovely. Everyone's reaction to him asking her out was so wholesome. You guys should pause and look at each one of their faces it's h i l a r i o u s!

- The date was so awkward please. The way they were more like a couple as friends than they are nowww

TAKE ME BACK!!

- I found the climax for both plots in the episode done really well. The drama came heightened and hit me in all the feels

- Taoelle expressing themselves respectively to their friends was so sad to see. Especislly Tao feeling like he was too much - which I relate to so so much. Elle saying she liked him just fine. They're both so valid and real for that.

- Having the biphobic notions manifesting into fears for Nick and giving him anxiety was so well done. It's such a big part of most people in or outside the queer community placing upon bi/pan people and it really sucks. I appreciated how much of an accurate representation it was though.

Loved that Charlie was able to comfort him after!

Good episode as always and can't wait for the drama with the side characters, like Darcy and Tara, Taoelle and Isaac too.
