“but behind that fair façade, i’m afraid she’s rather odd” is such a !!!!!!! good line. it makes me think about how belle and adam are BOTH in disguise. they BOTH have had masks forced upon them by one way or another. they’re unable to truly be themselves. sure, belle is more openly “odd” and just sort of takes the ridicule, but it’s clear that it still affects her. it still makes her feel othered. and gosh, even besides being cursed, adam hasn’t been his true self since he was a CHILD. at the end of the day they really are just two lonely kids who never got accepted as they truly were.
