Treat Yourself- Quitt
Who: Brittany Pierce and Quinn Fabray @longhornfabrays
Where: Quinn’s place in Texas
When: May 2, 2020
Notes: After the slap heard round the world, Brittany heads over to Quinn’s house to check and make sure she’s okay
Brittany
Brittany had seen the exchange between Quinn and Marley at the karaoke party and it had made her upset. She wasn't sure what was going on with the two girls but as someone who hated violence, she wasn't sure what she should do because she liked both of them. But there was something about Quinn that she liked a little bit more so after clearing her schedule for the day because who needed classes, she sent a message to Quinn and asked if she wanted some company so after packing a quick bag with some clothes and toiletries, she made her way to Quinn's room and knocked on the door. "Queenie, open up! Its Brittany! I'm here to treat you like you deserve." When she didn't hear anything, she knocked again. "I brought jello shots!"
Quinn
Quinn definitely wasn't herself. She could feel it. Something was going on and she needed to sort things out for herself. So, she stayed in and dealt with the major hangover she had thanks to the many drinks she consumed the previous night, iced her cheek that was now a little purple, and cancelled the date with Sam. Other than that, she managed to keep herself away from others and ordered food to keep herself indoor. She of course got Brittany's text after a while and while she declined company, she soon her the knock on the door and the other blonde yelling. She sighed as she listened and made her way out of her room to open the apartment door. "You really think alcohol is what I need more of right now?" She asked and let her inside. "Have you come to scold me for last night?"
Brittany
"What? Scold you? Why would I do that? I was here to make sure you're okay. I figured since everyone would be on Marley's side in this argument I would come and see how you're doing." She stated, stepping further into Quinn's room. She set her bag down on the floor and immediately walked over to hug her friend. "I know you said you didn't want company and I'll respect your decision but I am here to take you out. We can get mani pedis and a massage and then we can come back here and watch Disney movies and snuggle." She offered, a look of excitement on her face. "But if you'd rather be alone, I will leave the shots with you, they're a great hangover cure I heard, adn go back to my room."
Quinn
She laughed softly and nodded. "Oh, I'm sure they all are. I was definitely out of line." She hugged Britt back tightly and smiled. "You're the best, Britt. Really. I appreciate you so much." She looked at her. "I'm not sure I should go out. What if we see someone? Plus, look at my face." She said and waved her hand in front of it. "You can stay. I don't need to drink alone. That would be sad."
Brittany
"Don't worry I won't ask what happened but please tell me you're not jealous about Berry and Finn? I've told you from the start that you deserve better than him. I mean yeah he's got that beard now that makes him look like a teacher, which is hella hot, but he ain't got much else going on so..." She shrugged, running her fingers through Quinn's hair. "Okay we can stay in. I'll order us a pizza and we can do each other's makeup and I'll show you how to cover a slap. It should be the same as a hickey but we'll see." She laughed, her nose crinkling.
Quinn
She sighed and shook her head. "No, it's not about Rachel and Finn. Or even that Marley's having Finn's baby. I just..." She took a deep breath and looked at Brittany. "Everyone is starting to know what they want. Relationship wise, family wise... and what do I have? Mixed feelings about if I like girls or boys? Or both? Unsure what I want my future job to be? I want to go traveling this summer and I can't even pick a package. I just... I don't know anything anymore." She sighed and looked down. "Come on, Britt. You know I know how to cover a hickey. I just don't feel like putting on makeup when I feel so ugly inside." She sat down on the bed. "But, pizza sounds great."
Brittany
Her eyebrow rose and she looked over at her. "Margot is pregnant? And Finn is the baby daddy... I didnt even think he was capable of that." She said, running a hand through her hair. She listened to her friend's dilemma, most of it she already knew but some of it she was learning for the first time.  "Its okay to like both, I do. Its more fun that way." She said, shrugging. She rubbed her friend's back softly, giving her a sympathetic smile. "I don't know what I want to do either, Queenie. I'm majoring in dance but what happens after that? Can I make a living doing that? I don't know. It's scary but you're like super smart and pretty and you can do anything you want." She stated matter of factly before lifting her chin. "There is nothing ugly about you okay? And if anyone says otherwise, I'll fight them."
Quinn
Quinn nodded and sighed. "Well, he is. And they are gonna raise it and be all cute and Rachel will be there and its..." She stopped and took a deep breath. She needed to calm down. "I know and you're lucky. I just... think I like girls more." She looked at Britt and touched her cheek. "If anyone can make a living from dance, it's you. Trust me." She shook her head. "I don't know. The one thing I want to do, I'm not sure anyone will see me doing it." She shrugged. "I have no doubt about that. But i did act pretty ugly last night and I feel that today." She sighed. "Let's order that pizza and drink. I need to focus on not this."
Brittany
Brittany's face scrunched in confusion when she heard the scenario Quinn was painting. "Wait, I don't get it. If Margot and Finn are having a gross child, why is Rachel getting involved? I mean I know they're dating or whatever but unless she's planning to kill Marley and raise the baby with Finn, I don't get why she is okay with this. I don't know if I would be." She shrugged, her mind already pushing the information out. "That's why I take pills to help with that." She leaned in to her friend's touch and let out a sigh. "I meant what I said earlier. If you need someone to experiment with, or you know, date for a while, I will put myself in the running. The best way to know is to just do. and you should do what feels right. I promise great sex and plenty of cuddles. No pressure though, take as long as you need to decide." She chuckled, kissing her cheek before grabbing her phone and calling in their order. "Twenty minutes babe. Let's find sometihng to watch."
Quinn
Quinn shrugged. "I don't know. Because her and Finn are dating and what else can she do? I don't see this ending well, but I have no room to comment." She looked at Brittany and smiled. "I appreciate the offer. I really do. I just need to think about it all, okay? I need to sort whatever these feelings are out." She smiled and got comfortable on the bed. "Yes please. Forget about all this going on."
Brittany
"My head hurts. I'm so confused , which is exactly why we need to stop thinking about those three adn just focus on us. I much prefer that topic." She laughed, grabbing the remote. She then opened up Disney+ and searched for a movie while they waited for the pizza to arrive. "I hate feelings, they suck. Especially the confusing ones. Like, I think I love Santana but I don't know if that means I like her because we share lady kisses and have sex or if its because she makes the butterflies in my stomach flutter. Either way, I'm confused as hell and I don't know what to do either. So I just find nice distractions to keep me from thinking about it." She confessed, finding Beauty and the Beast as the first movie up on the queue.
Quinn
She took a deep breath and nodded. "I agree. It's much better." She watched as the other girl took control of the remote and got the app up. "You should think about it before you end up like me." Quinn shrugged and took a deep breath. "Distractions can only help so much and I don't want you to end up like me because you bottled up too much and it exploded."
Brittany
"Oh come on, I love you. I would love to be you. Not knowing what you want out of life is totally normal. At this point, I think Rachel is the only person who knows what they want after graduation. I know I want to dance and maybe one day own my own studio but I have to work to do that so its hard. I don't know what I want to do half the time so I just go with the flow and dance." She explained,  shrugging her shoulders. "And as for what you should do, I think you gotta just let it happen. If you go looking for answers, you might not find them. But if you let them come to you, its easier."
Quinn
Quinn nodded and took another deep breath. "That's probably true, but I don't think you'd really want to be me." She smiled a little at the girl. She thought what Brittany said and nodded. "Thanks, Britt. You're getting really good at these pep talks. Maybe you should be the captain of the squad instead of Tana." She teased.
Brittany
"Okay so maybe I don't want to be you but I certainly want to do other things to you." She giggled, her nose wrinkling as she grabbed her hand and squeezed it, resting her head on the blonde's shoulder as the movie started. "Oh no, I'm not leader material. I don't think I could fire someone from the team like Sanny can. I'm okay just being the best one on the team." She laughed, popping her shoulders effortlessly in response.
Quinn
She gave her a look. "Oh? And what do you want to do to me?" She smirked and squeezed her hand back. "True. She is definitely good at that. But you are leader material in some ways. Trust me." She grinned and cuddled closer to her friend.
Brittany
Brittany giggled and gave her a wink. "Well if I told you, I'd want to show you and something tells me that isn't what you need but maybe one day I'll show you." She grinned, nuzzling into her, their legs interlacing as she started the movie. "You really think I could be a leader? I mean, I'm the best dancer in my class and when I start dancing, people just kind of stop to watch so maybe you're right."
Quinn
Quinn laughed with her. "True. I would want you to show me and right now, we both know it's not what I need." She held the other close. "Of course I do. You're amazing, Brittany. Whoever doesn't follow you, you don't deserve." She promised her.
Brittany
"Exactly. Maybe once you're feeling better, we can but for now, you just need a friend, some cuddles, pizza, and Disney." She added, arms wrapping around Quinn's waist. "Thanks Queenie. I just... I never saw myself as a leader. I don't mind being a follower either but sometimes I feel like I want to be the bossy one. I want to be the one that others listen too, and not for negative reasons."
Quinn
"You know me so well." She grinned and leaned her head against Brittany's. She really need just a friend night. She hadn't had one in so long and to talk to someone about everything while figuring her life out... that's what she needed. "You will be. You have it in you to be bossy at your own thing. Don't let anyone get you down."
Brittany
"I like to think so. And I also consider it a privilege. Everyone else sees just one side of you and I get to see the real you... and she's pretty great." She blonde complimented before nuzzling into her side, head resting on her shoulder. "Oh trust me, I won't. There are literally tons of songs talking about how to be a boss so I'm sure I'll get there one day. Especially once I open my own studio."
Quinn
Quinn grinned at her and held her closer, leaning her head against hers. "I'm glad to be open with you, B." She told her softly. She laughed and nodded. "See, you're going to lead. Just like I said."
Brittany
“I'm glad you told me too, Queenie. And I might suck at keeping other people's promises but I'm not about to out someone so this will be one that I take to my grave.” She smiled, linking their pinkies together. “You always were the smartest out of the three of us. And its always been hot.” She winked, resting her head on her shoulder. They finished up Beauty and the Beast, most of which Brittany didn't watch because she was falling asleep but it wasn't until Quinn reached up to turn off the light did she let herself drift off completely.

miasswier’s ultimate glee ranking: no 33
33: Jagged Little Tapestry
Tumblr media
Written by:  Brad Falchuk Directed by: Paul McCrane
Overall Thoughts: Season six keeping it going with another tight episode. Obviously, the best part is the Brittana of it all, but there’s actually a lot going for this episode, and not that much that isn’t going for it. A winning combination!
What I Like:
I really appreciate that they managed to bring in a new set of characters without having them completely take over the show. It is more obvious here than with the season 4 newbies that the main reason these characters are here is to support the stories of the main characters. I much prefer it.
Everyone nonsensically still being in Lima even though they all have school and jobs and shit. Glee is so ridiculous, I love it. Especially when it calls itself out.
Speaking of that, I fucking love how the new students are sort of the only sane people to ever walk into McKinley, and often call out the stuff that the original glee clubbers do that in other seasons would just get swept under the rug.
Listen I will fucking fight anybody, Blaine and Dave are a cute ass couple.
Going off of that, we see so much character development in Karofsky in the one scene he actually has lines in. I mean, can you imagine s1 or even s2 or s3 Karofsky ever being comfortable walking around Lima with his arm around his boyfriend, looking for sheet music, joking about Broadway? GOD.
Both Blaine and Karofsky’s faces when Brittany says that when she pictured them having sex she saw a u-haul mounting a moped. They’re both like “eh yeah that’s pretty much it” I die.
I love the implication that Kurt is once again fantasizing about Blaine fantasizing about him. But, I also love the idea of Kurt and Blaine actually having the same fantasy simultaneously. Basically, regardless of what that scene is supposed to be, I love it.
Kurt and Rachel’s disaster first lesson.
Everything about the Brittana plot. From the scene in Brittany’s room, to their mash-up, to the proposal, to both Brittany and Santana standing up for their love, to that moment in the end when Santana walks into the auditorium and Brittany automatically stands up and goes to her like she’s fucking magnetized I love ALL OF IT OKAY I LOVE BRITTANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Major unpopular opinion alert, but I find Santana’s rant against Kurt to be fucking hilarious.
Kurt reminiscing about his relationship with Blaine when Jane and Mason are singing. For once they took a song sung by a straight couple and made it about a gay couple instead of the other way around!
I have mixed feelings about the Becky story. But the positive is the fact that Glee actually took the time to address how sometimes, even in our “concern”, we can be bigoted. Sue is one of the least ableist people (at least to down syndrome people, she is pretty ableist towards Artie), and yet here she is, essentially saying that Becky should not be allowed to live a normal life because of her disability. I really appreciate that they did this story, if anything just for that. The scene where Darrell tells everyone off in Sue’s office is pretty epic.
I also have mixed feelings about Beiste’s storyline this season, but I am glad that they included another a trans story.
What I Don’t Like:
Becky once again doesn’t seem to have too much agency in her own story, which often happens with her. Darrell’s tell-off is epic, but it would have been nice if Becky could have had a bit of that. Have them hear it from the horse’s mouth “What is so weird about me having sex with my boyfriend?” and force them to answer that. I still would put this story more in the positive than the negative section, but honestly, it is a little frustrating how Becky always seems to lose her agency in stories that are about her.
Here’s my thing about the Beiste storyline. First of all, as much as they tried to back-track it in this episode and make it like this has been a struggle he’s had all his life, they made a huge deal in earlier seasons of Beiste being a masculine-presenting girly-girl. I loved that. Not that I don’t like that he’s trans, but bare with me. They had a trans character on this show, one whose story we’d deeply invested in. And yet, when it came time to do a Big Trans Story, they shunted their established trans character off to the side, and replaced her with someone who had no build-up to that story. And, I’m sorry, I’m going there, I think it’s really fucking shitty that they decided to give a story that should have gone to a black trans woman to a white trans man instead. This is not to say that I don’t like the fact that they made Beiste trans. I actually think it would have worked a lot better if instead of deciding to randomly give Beiste the transitioning story they’d been building up for Unique, they had kept Unique around, had her go through this story, and during the process revealed that Beiste has actually been a trans woman all along, and have two trans women stand together. I get that having a cis woman playing a trans woman would have been dicey, but like, no more than having a cis woman play a trans man. Basically what I’m trying to say is that they pulled this story out of their asses and majorly rushed it when they could have given the story to the character they had built it up for, and still revealed that an established character was trans.
Songs:
It’s Too Late: Not my usual style, but because it’s Klaine I can get into it. Plus, the scene is really cool.
Hand in My Pocket/I Feel the Earth Move: I really enjoy this one, and not just because it’s the Brittana proposal duet!
Will You Love Me Tomorrow/Head Over Feet: I like this one a lot, but I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I ever would have realized I liked it if it weren’t for the Klaine montage while they sing it.
So Far Away: Quinn and Tina sound amazing together, but again, it’s not really my style.
You Learn/You’ve Got a Friend: Another one that isn’t really my style, and so I have never really gotten into outside of the context of the episode.
Final Thoughts: I find this to be a really good, really tight episode. There’s things I don’t like, and they’re significant, but I think the positives far outweigh the negatives (especially with the Beiste one where, at the end of the day, I’d still much rather they give Beiste a trans storyline then just remove Unique from the show with no trans story to come in her place). Overall, I still really enjoy it, and often find myself rewatching it just because.

24. You need to leave.
A continuation of this.
For Brittany, the weeks between when she leaves school, and when Santana gets to her house can’t come soon enough. She thinks that she probably should have gotten a job for the summer so she would be going less crazy with nothing to do, but by the time she thought to get one, everything good was already taken. So she sits around working on math problems in between text messages and Skype calls with Santana—joking that it sucks that she can’t scissor a webcam—and mostly, she’s bored by the second week of June.
But Santana finally comes, and Brittany is beside herself with excitement that she’s actually staying for a whole week. Their visits after this will be shorter, with Santana starting camp and everything, so Brittany is going to make the absolute most of them having this time together. She has a whole week planned for them—which definitely includes time alone in her bedroom while her parents are at work and her sister is at school—and while she waits for Santana to arrive, she sits in a lawn chair on the front lawn in a bikini top and shorts.
When Santana pulls up, Brittany jumps up out of her chair, nearly tripping over it in the effort to get to her girlfriend quickly. Santana climbs out of the car, wearing jean shorts and a graphic t-shirt with a flannel wrapped around her waist. Brittany realizes that she’s never seen her in shorts, and the sight is kind of gorgeous, so she pauses in her tracks, just unabashedly checking her out. Santana cocks her head to the side, then crooks her finger toward Brittany, who happily obliges, skipping over and engulfing her in the biggest, tightest hug she ever has.
“Okay, I was going to try to make some kind of happy to see me joke, but my execution would have been horrible.” Santana laughs, poking the bottle of sunblock in Brittany’s pocket.
“Trust me, you don’t need hard evidence to know how happy I am to see you. It’s been like, eighty-four years?”
“Excellent meme usage.” She gives her a quick kiss on the lips, then opens her trunk to get her duffle bag. “Ready to have me for a whole week?”
“Please, I totally made up the fake air mattress set up on my floor, which you’re totally not going to sleep on...”
“Normally I’d argue that I need to be respectful to your parents, but since I know you’re allowed to lock the door, and I miss sleeping with you so much, I won’t even.”
“Good, because I’d put up a real fight about it.” Brittany wrests Santana’s bag from her and throws it over her own shoulder. “Unfortunately, tonight we have my sister’s end of the year concert, so we’ll be home late. No movie night until at least nine-thirty.”
“Almost past my bedtime.” Santana teases, and follows Brittany into the house. “Your parents are still at work?”
“Yeah, why?” Brittany waggles her eyebrows.
“I was just being curious. But...how much time do we have?”
“Two-ish hours? If you’ll let me jump your bones when you’re barely through the door.”
“It’s been a long three weeks, you’re lucky I still have my clothes on.”
After they go upstairs and end up in Brittany’s bed nearly before Santana’s bag hits the floor, they’re lying side by side, completely naked, and just unable to stop touching each other’s bodies. Santana has her blissed out post-orgasm face on, and her tousled hair, and Brittany keeps kissing her, trying to get as much of her as she can in with only seven days. Santana’s lashes flutter, and it only makes Brittany want to kiss her more, her own body still vibrating from their reverie.
“So much better than trying to scissor a webcam.”
“You say that like you’ve ever tried.” Santana giggles. “I’m sorry, the whole...whatever, video thing just creeps me out.”
“I know, and I get it. It’s creepy to be naked on camera.”
“To be honest, I totally don’t want to hear about how it’s a thing you’ve done in the past.” Santana furrows her brow, and Brittany kisses her between the eyes.
“I actually haven’t, I was just assuming. And my past doesn’t matter, not when I have you in the here and now.”
“You’re cute.” Santana kisses her long and slow, then drops her head back on the pillow, making Brittany smile to see her hair against her sheets.
“I don’t want to get up.”
“We have to. Your parents are going to be here soon, and we should shower and...not look like we had sex the second I walked in the door...or preferably at all.”
“Fiiiiiine.” Brittany groans, rolling over in bed. “You take a shower first, I’ll make the bed.”
When Brittany finally gets out of the shower, she watches Santana finish getting dressed. It might be the cutest thing she’s ever seen, the way she brought nice jeans and a blazer specifically for an elementary school concert. Brittany’s parents are home, when they’re done getting ready, and as it always is, it’s a flurry of excitement in the kitchen. They don’t bother to eat dinner before they head to the school, and Brittany insists upon taking her own car so she can bring Santana to the diner afterward. It’s been too long since they’ve had a real date, what with finals and being apart, and even if it’s just the diner, she’d rather that than go sit at the hot dog place with her family.
Once the concert is over, and they congratulate Brittany’s sister on doing a great job with her clarinet, they get back in the car, and Brittany holds Santana’s hand while she drives to the diner. Maybe it’s dumb, but because they never get to hold hands in the car, Brittany appreciates the opportunity to do it all the more, and she brings Santana’s hand to her lips to kiss the back of it. Santana smiles in response, and it makes Brittany feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
“I’m paying tonight, just so you know.” Brittany announces. “I don’t want to have an argument about the check in the restaurant.”
“I’ll let you.” Santana laughs. “But that means I get to pay for everything at the Fourth of July carnival when you come to Lima.”
“I guess that’s a fair deal. But we’ll see.”
“Nuh uh, you don’t get to make me agree to let you pay, and then we’ll see me.”
“Okay fine, I’ll pay for stuff in Akron, you pay for stuff in Lima. Deal?”
“Deal.”
They go into the diner, and order hamburgers and milkshakes. Brittany kind of wishes she took Santana somewhere a little more fancy, considering she’s all dressed up, but it’s okay. She’s a diner kind of girl, and Brittany loves that about her. They’re just finishing up their burgers, when Brittany sees someone with a mop of blonde hair sauntering toward the table. She holds her breath, wishing he’d go away, but before she knows it, there’s Sam, pressing both of his hands to the table, and leaning down.
“Heya, Britt. How’s it going?”
“Fine, Sam.” Brittany resists the urge to roll her eyes. “How are you?”
“Not bad, not bad. I didn’t realize you had a friend visiting. Nice to meet you, I’m Sam, Brittany’s boyfriend.”
“Santana.” Brittany watches her swallow hard, and clench the table with her hands, knowing they’ve actually met before, but Sam was really drunk.
“Not my boyfriend, Sam, and you haven’t been in over a year.”
“Oh, c’mon Britt, we both know we’re going to get back together.”
“No, actually, I don’t. See, Santana’s my girlfriend, and I know damn well you know that, because I brought her to Kitty’s party at New Years.”
“Aww how am I supposed to know that? I don’t pay attention to who you’re with, I just assume it’s all buying time until you get back back me. We’re endgame, you know?”
“Biding time.” Santana mutters under her breath.
“What?”
“It’s biding time.” She says a little bit louder. “And I also don’t think you should ascribe words like endgame to real people. Keep it to your television shows.”
“Listen, Samantha—“
“Santana.”
“Right, Santana. You don’t know, we’re like, out of a country music song, me and Britt, okay?”
“God, Sam, no we’re not, unless your country music song is about treating a girl like shit and calling her stupid so she leaves you and falls in love with another girl.” Brittany snaps, reaching across the table to pry Santana’s hand from the table and take it into her own.
“Aww, c’mon.”
“No, I’m not coming on. I’m on a date, you need to leave. Whatever fantasy you have about us getting back together isn’t happening. Just stop.”
“But—“
“She said stop.” Santana’s voice is stronger than Brittany has ever heard it, and she makes to stand up. “She said you need to leave, so you need to leave. That’s it.”
With his tail between his legs, Sam steps away from the table. Brittany is somber for the rest of their dinner, regretting that Sam showed up at all, afraid that Santana is upset. She has no residual feelings for Sam, that’s for sure, but she knows that Santana can get insecure, and the way she doesn’t say anything makes Brittany nervous. So she pays the bill, and they leave, still not a word between them as they leave the restaurant. Instead of going home, to where it’ll still be too noisy, Brittany drives out of the suburban sprawl, and finds a quiet area where they can lay on the hood of the car beneath the stars. She just wants to be alone with Santana. She wants to talk to her. She wants to make sure she isn’t upset. And when they’re out of the car, Brittany lays on the hood, and Santana follows suit.
“I’m sorry about him.” Brittany whispers, seeking out Santana’s hand with her own.
“I don’t have exes. There’s no one you have to worry about showing up and trying to win me back.”
“I know. But Jeeze, if that was him trying to win me back, he really needs some work.”
“Some girls are into that, the whole dominance thing, or whatever.”
“Well I’m not. I’m not into him at all. I haven’t been in a long time. I’m into you, that’s it. I also really liked how you corrected his word use, that kind of brainy stuff is really hot.”
“You know misuse of language bugs me.” Santana shrugs, dropping her head further back. “And I didn’t like how he came over and acted like he had your whole lives planned out without your consent.”
“Even if there was no you, there wouldn’t be a Sam and I. I outgrew him a long time ago, and I thought he was over me too. Last I heard, he was dating some substitute school nurse.”
“I mean, I get it. You’re pretty amazing, and I’m sure you’re hard to get over. I just didn’t like that he pretended like...I don’t know, like I didn’t matter or something. Like I was some obstacle on the path to you two being together. I’ve written that, you know? I’ve read it a zillion times. It scares me that someone thinks that about you in real life.”
“He’s just...an idiot. Seriously, I’m not trying to be some kind of bitchy elitist, but really, he’s dumb. If he thinks I’m going to suddenly drop my whole life that I love and be with him, he’s nuts. I’m crazy about you, just so you know.”
“I do know. I don’t feel afraid that you’re going to leave me. I’m just afraid that you’re going to be here all summer, and he’s going to bother you.”
“He won’t. He’s all talk.” Brittany squeezes Santana’s hand and looks up at the stars. “Now that we shut him down, he’ll crawl into his hole and masturbate to thoughts of me, or whatever.”
“Ew, Britt, that’s really gross.” Santana furrows her brow, and turns her head away from Brittany. “I don’t want to think about that. I don’t want to think about him thinking about you like that.”
“I can’t stop him, you know? But just know that I’m not thinking about him, ever.”
“I know that you’re thinking about me. I can see it in your eyes.”
“Can you, really?”
“I can. I feel like...you get the same face I get when I’m thinking about you. I don’t know. I guess that’s what love looks like.”
“It is.”
“It’s hard for me sometimes, thinking about the romantic past you have, mostly because I don’t have one. But rationally, I know the first love doesn’t always have to be the real love.”
“My first love probably wasn’t even love at all.” Brittany reassures Santana. “I’ve told you this before, but I’ve never fallen for someone the way I’ve fallen for you. There’s never been a single person in my life that I just wanted to be around all the time...then you came along, and it was a weird feeling. I mean, there were times before Rachel started dating that creepy guy that I felt the urge to knock on your door in the middle of the night, just so I could see you.”
“Do you think it will always be like that?”
“No, rationally, I know that it won’t. You know, we’re going to have disagreements, and sometimes we’ll be mad at each other. But I know that how much I want to be with you as a partner isn’t going to change. I think you’re the love of my life.”
“How can you know that? I mean, I feel the same way, but it still freaks me out that maybe one day one of us will realize that’s not the case.”
“I don’t know, Santana. I just know. That’s all.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Do you regret coming here this week?”
“What? Because of Sam? No. I’m so glad I’m here with you. I miss you in such a crazy way when we’re so far apart. This is like...the best part of my summer so far.”
“Think you’ll still feel that way when you’re at camp?”
“You’re really funny about me and camp. I’ve been working as a counselor there for four years, I think the novelty has worn off. You’re going to be my favorite part of my summer, no matter what.”

Glee Memories: 1x14 Hell-O
A long, long time ago, as Glee was approaching graduation in Season 3, I found myself nostalgic with some rare free time on my hands. So I decided to rewatch the series from the beginning and jot down some memories, discrepancies that have arisen since, fave quotes, tally solos - all that good stuff, strictly for shits and giggles.
8 years later (eek!) and once more I find myself with an unexpected abundance of free time. With so many revisiting or being newly introduced to the show between binge watching during Quarantine and all the tragedy that has surrounded the show since it went off the air, I figured I’d finish what I started. And by finish, I mean go through the end of S3. Cause I truly cannot acknowledge what happened after that. Except for 5B.
Kicking this off by reposting the first 15 episodes I already went through. Enjoy!
1x14 Hell-O Let the record show: the “So here’s what you missed on Glee” guy is now the guy we have come to know and love (Ian Brennan, right?)
“We’re glitterati. I feel like Lady Gaga.”
Add Mercedes to the list of Glee clubbers who’ve been slushied!! So it’s Rachel, Finn, Quinn, Kurt, Puck, Mr. Schue, and Mercedes. Leaving…Santana, Britany (has she EVER been slushied?), Artie, Matt and Mike. Right?
Will: Now you’re saying we have to place at Regionals or the Glee club’s gone? Me: That’s what he said in the first place!! What is going on?! Figgins; Schue, that was the deal from the beginning. Me: *satisfied* Hooray for continuity!
“Those spotlights in the auditorium don’t run on dreams.”
Sue’s back!
haha. Sue blowing on Figgins’ ear ‘romantically’
“Would’ve gotten you one, Will, but…I don’t like you.”
So…Finn sucks at basketball and is depressed.
Yeah, Puck just told Quinn he’s not break ing up with her but she needs to stop supersizing cause he doesn’t dig on fat chicks. A couple things: 1. Last episode didn’t she turn him down saying she was doing this on her own? In the words of my one true love Trouty Mouth, “that’s what I thought.” 2. Puck doesn’t dig on ‘fat chicks’? #oops Glee.
“I’m pregnant!” “And that’s MY fault?” …Puck might be as simple-minded as Finn.
So Finn and Rachel are dating now. When did that start? Who decided that? Might’ve been nice to see…
Oh yeah. Sue drugged Figgins and blackmailed him to get reinstated. Damn, I miss when this show had balls to do stuff like this and not apologize for laughing hysterically at it.
Damn, Figgins is hairy as hell.
“What do you guys say when you answer the phone?” “Waddup?” “Who dis be?” “No, she’s dead. This is her son.” HA!
Did Alexander Graham Bell really answer his phone “Ahoy ahoy!”? Can I start answering my phone like that? I CAN AND I WILL!
haha. Rachel wears training bras.
“Only this time I can just lean over and kiss you if I want to…and I want to.” Still makes my ovaries tingle. Lalalerr.
“We were seduced by the glitz and glamour of showbiz”
I’ve just pinpointed my problem (if you can call it that) with the Will/Finn relationship: I feel like we never really saw it start. It just doesn’t sit right with me. It’s always felt forced and like “look at how close and father/son they are” but…when did that start or develop into that so we could fall in love with it along the way? Answer: it didn’t. They just started saying it was already to that point rather than showing us how they got there, if that makes sense. Compare that to the Sue/Becky relationship and how we’ve watched it progress and how invested I am in that and there’s a clear difference. I wonder why they did this this way. And how much more I might care if they hadn’t. Hmm.
“Oh you mean like, meeting other girls? Cause I think I’m dating Rachel. At least she sure thinks I am.” #BlessFinnsHeart Also, why does Glee leave this unclear? :(
Mr. Schue just told Finn he wants him to sing. Finn’s response “so that’s why the band’s here” and a dopey grin. #BlessFinnsHeart
Ok. I’ve never been the biggest fan of Finn. I think he’s funny when they let him be humorous. But he’s never been my dreamboat on this show. HOWEVER…Finn in pursuit of a lady is Finn at his hottest in my opinion. I pay attention when that’s happening, lol.
Apparantly Kurt agrees. He is like a cat in heat over there. Lordy!
Aw, Brittana walk with linked pinkies. Forgot about that being their thing. I love that Quinn sees that and immediately knows they’re up to something, lol.
So…Finn thinks he’s dating Rachel…and agrees to go on a threesome date with Brittana…and when Rachel kinda catches him, he lies. Oh boy. Why did they make this unhealthy from the start if we were supposed to be rooting for this as the power couple on the show?
Rachel’s speech to Finn when he says he doesn’t wanna be her boyfriend is effing spot on.
God. I’ve been in Rachel’s position where her andFinn just ended things and he’s immediately flirting very openly with other girls right in front of her like he could give a shit. I feel your pain, girl.
Aw. Puck and Quinn are being supercute during this song.
“I’m sorry. I was just focusing on the first syllable.”
“Your rendition of Don’t Rain On My Parade was flawed. You totally lack Barbara’s emotional depth.” PREACH!
Haha. Jesse reads celebrity biographies for lifestyle tips.
I love Jonathon Groff on this show. LOVED him in Spring Awakening and was so stoked to hear he’d be on this show. I gotta say, his chemistry with Lea Michele is flawless.
Haha. Confession: I love Lionel Ritchie. And this song makes me giggle cause of the video he did for it.Heeee!
Aw. Finn was a dipshit and dumped her and now the star of Vocal Adrenaline, who is just as crazy driven as she is, asked her out. Even rewatching it I’m happy for Rachel Berry.
“There was a mouse in mine.”
I love Brittana talking about the hottest guys in school right in front of Finn like he’s not even there.
Is it just me, or is it gross that they put a lemon slice on your spaghetti at Breadstix? Yuck.
“You buy us dinner, and we make out in front of you.” Oh Brittana. :)
“Those sweaters make her look homeschooled.”
“Don’t make fun of Rachel. She’s kinda cool….” “Finn. That’s mean.”
“Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?”
Ugh. I still hate this Wemma scene to Hello Again. So boring.
“I dunno why but…I’ve always had a soft spot for this song” Oh ouch. Knowing now why…ouch.
Emma’s a virgin. I remember thinking “well damn. This’ll drag out forever…”
What. The hell. Is that picture Rachel has in her locker of Jesse? It looks like she drew it herself in crayon. Omg. How’d I never notice that before. Ha!
Ok, WORST way to get a girl back EVER: repeat Finn’s words to Rachel right now. “I realized I don’t wanna date other girls. Only you. You do talk too much and usually you just talk about yourself but…at least I don’t feel alone when I’m with you.” – EFF YOU, FINN! Also, remember when Mr. Schue told Rachel she’d find a boy whose favorite parts about Rachel would be the bad stuff? Yeah, so far that’s not Finn.
Atta girl, Rachel!
I’m sorry, but it’s douchey that Finn ran to Mr. Schue to tattle on Rachel dating the competition. Like…so what? My God. My students date kids in other showchoirs all the time. In real life, kids make great friendships with kids in other choirs. …but it’s Glee.
“I didn’t wear a bra and I had them turn on the air-conditioning.”
“I am engorged with venom and triumph.”
Vocal Adrenaline are inhumanly good dancers. My. God.
Yaaaaay, Idina Menzel!
“You wanna look so talented it’s literally hurting you. I want a look so optimistic it could cure Cancer.”
Will is concerned with the ‘fraternizing with the enemy’ aspect of the Rachel/Jesse relationship. Oh my God. Get over yourself or you’re in for a lot of trouble over the years,Will. How can he do this and then preach that he wants to blur the lines between Football/Cheerios and Glee Club? Double-standard hypocrite. I’m annoyed with him.
And now Will and Shelby are makin’ out. While he’s still pursuing Emma. Oh boy. You jerk. Also, as hot as Matthew Morrison is, I still watch this and think this couldn’t be fun for Idina. Cause she’s married to Taye Diggs and I imagine nothing compares to the kisses of Chocolate Lovin’ (as I call him).
“Are you gay? Cause most of the showchoir directors I make out with are gay.”
“Cut the butter, Benedict Arnold.”
Okay, I will say, as much as it annoys me, the way Tina, Artie, Kurt and Mercedes are presenting their concerns over Rachel being with Jesse makes perfect sense and kinda won me over. They’re only asking her to hold off until after Regionals so they don’t risk a repeat of what happened at Sectionals. Mercedes said they’re all happy that she’s happy but they’re worried he might be playing her. This sounds like genuine concern for her and hesitancy to trust the competition. Very different than the game Schue and Finn are playing.
“Look, we not saying that dude is playing you-“ “He’s playing you.” Kurtcedes love.
It is sad to watch them threaten to quit or kick her out if she doesn’t break up with him and she’s being vulnerable and asking how they could do that to her.
Aw. Poor Rachel. :( Jesse’s so good for her!
“Everyone is replaceable. Even you.” I love that someone (Kurt) said this to Rachel. And meant it. I hate that the show has since forgotten that nugget of truth though.
The McKinley High Old Maids Club.
Another Lauren Zizes sighting! Yay!
This Emma and Terri scene makes me so uncomfortable.
“I carry a rape whistle!”
Rachel is talking crazy and Jesse just laughed at how cute she is and how much more of a drama queen she is than him. Listen, I didn’t LOVE this pairing the first time around, but right now…perfection.
Hello was Terri and Will’s junior prom song. Ouch.
This is very smart and mature that Emma and Will are not pursuing their relationship yet because he needs to be alone for awhile. It made me sad at the time but…it’s ridiculous to think for a second that he doesn’t need a break between divorcing the woman he’s been with since he was 15 and heading into another relationship. Well done, Glee.
Rachel tells Finn to spread the word she ended things with Jesse. He tells her he wants to be with her and that he circled some dates on her ‘crazy calendar’ (eff you, Finn). Um, wtf? She just broke up with someone else that she didn’t want to break up with (well, not really but, as far as Finn is concerned) and he’s assuming she’ll want to get back together with him? Ugh. Douche Finn.
haha, Finn seems extremely confused that Rachel is rejecting HIM for a change. I actually really like this dynamic.
I hate to admit it, but…Finn is super hot in Goodbye/Hello. I’m tellin’ ya, the only dreamboat Finn in my world is a Finn in pursuit of a lady…
SOLOS: Finn (2), Rachel (3), Jesse (2)

69 "You're teasing me again" For in the nyu!au verse please :)
A continuation of this.
Brittany passes her makeup test in Dr. Corcoran’s class. Santana kisses her for like an hour after she gets her grade back, and Brittany thinks that maybe, if that’s the cost of having to take a test again, she’ll take it. She feels really good about herself afterward, and to thank Santana, she takes her out to dinner at the restaurant in Little Italy where they’d gone on one of their earliest dates. It feels good to have someone to share big things with, and she’s glad that someone is Santana.
Because the next day is Friday, she manages to convince Santana to go out. She doesn’t usually want to, and is perfectly happy in Santana’s room watching a movie...or not watching a movie, but it’s Artie’s birthday, and everyone is going to Dallas BBQ for dinner and margaritas. She’s yet to really introduce Santana to her friends, since she’s shy around new people, and just doesn’t love being in big groups, but she wants to. She wants everyone to know how crazy she is about this girl, and she thinks it’s going to go really well.
Everyone else is going to the bar afterward, but despite Santana’s insistence that Brittany go, she decides not to. She doesn’t want to go home late at night and sleep alone. She wants to go back to Santana’s room and sleep with her. With Rachel now off at her new boyfriend’s all the time, Brittany has really gotten used to that, and although she used to love going out and getting drunk, now she’d just rather fall asleep at eleven o’clock while Santana clings to her neck.
“Hey babes, are you ready?” Brittany bursts into Santana’s room, wearing jeans and long sleeve t-shirt so Santana doesn’t feel underdressed with the rest of them in club attire for their after party.
“Almost!” Santana calls from the bathroom. “I just got my stupid period, so I wanted to shower, and my hair is kind of...everywhere.”
“Come out, I’m sure you look cute.”
“Just give me five minutes. Play on my computer if you want.”
Not wanting to stress Santana out, since she’s sure she already is about the social situation, Brittany listens to her. She sits down at her desk, and she scrolls through Santana’s Tumblr page. Santana never minds that she does, and Brittany likes seeing the occasional selfie of them mixed in with the gifs of Rizzoli and Isles, and whoever the other lesbians Santana blogs about are. Brittany goes through a few pages before she finds the last one Santana posted, of the two of them laying on the floor in the library, after Brittany came to find Santana working there the other day. Back before they’d started dating, Santana had made a bunch of posts about her, confessing her crush to her followers, and though Brittany has since seen them, it always makes her smile when she sees their selfies tagged hot girl in 516 and the real actual love of my life.
She scrolls for awhile longer, just grinning to herself at the little stories about her that Santana posts, and then finally, Santana comes out of the bathroom. Her curly hair is pulled back with a clip, and she wears a light blue flannel over dark jeans. Brittany knows that she has absolutely no idea how sexy she is, but that’s okay. It’s part of what makes everything about her so endearing, she doesn’t know the kind of effect she has on Brittany.
“You okay? I know the first day of your period always really sucks.”
“I’m okay. I’ve got one of those crappy stick on heating pads going on right now. I’ll switch to my regular one when we get back.” Santana shrugs.
“You’re sure you’re okay to go? I don’t want to pressure you or anything.”
“I appreciate that, Britt, but I’m good. I know you want me to come, and once I get a Diet Coke and a chicken wing, I’ll be totally fine.”
“Okay, but if—“
“Stop being so cute and worrying about me. I’m good, I want to hang out with your friends, even though I’m pretty sure I’ll have nothing in common with them.”
“Doubtful, Artie is a total closet superhero nerd. He also holds the world record in Angry Birds. He thinks he’s really cool, but trust me, it’s an act.”
“Well that’s actually reassuring.” Santana puts her coat on, and Brittany watches her readjust the heating pad in her pants. “Let’s go.”
They take the subway uptown, and Santana leans her head on Brittany’s shoulder. Brittany likes when she does that, even though she feels bad that it means Santana probably has nasty cramps. When they get out at 23rd Street, Brittany puts her hand on Santana’s lower back, in the spot she knows she usually gets pains. They walk together to the restaurant, and when they get inside, Artie is there with Mercedes, Sugar, and a bunch of people Brittany doesn’t know.
Brittany pulls out a chair for Santana, between herself and Mercedes. While Brittany does order a margarita, since she has a fake ID, and it’s been a long time since she’s had a drink, she makes sure Santana gets her Diet Coke. She feels bad that Santana is really crampy, but when she starts conversing with Mercedes, who apparently has a class with her, Brittany feels a little better. She just wants her to have a good time, and not feel like she’s dragged along while Brittany enjoys herself.
The night actually goes really well, but though everyone tries to convince them to come out, Brittany says no so Santana doesn’t have to. Santana doesn’t have a fake ID anyway, and considering she hates to dance, Brittany knows the club will be an absolute nightmare for her. Brittany doesn’t feel any sense of loss about not going, she did just go out with them all last week when Santana was studying, and since this is the rare weekend when Santana isn’t actually swamped with work, Brittany wants to spend the time with her.
“It was great meeting you, Santana.” Artie pulls her in for a hug. “We thought Brittany made you up, so it’s good to see you’re actually real.”
“Hey! I can assure you I’ve never made up a girlfriend in my life. Sorry Santana’s so busy kicking ass at school to hang out with you losers.”
“Be nice.” Santana laughs, flicking Brittany. “Maybe we can all meet up for breakfast soon, or something.”
“As long as it’s not tomorrow, I’m down. I’ll be sleeping off turning nineteen for the entire weekend.”
“Well.” She shifts between her feet, and Brittany presses her hand into her lower back. “Have fun. Mercedes, I’ll see you in class on Tuesday.”
“You got it! Maybe Dr. Martinez will like me, now that I’m friends with the class star.”
“He likes you.” Santana shakes her head. “He just takes awhile to warm up.”
“Happy birthday, Artie.” Brittany hugs him.
“Thanks for coming. I’m glad we finally got to meet the phantom girlfriend. She’s great, really.”
“Isn’t she though?”
“Just have to make fun of you for how moony you are over her.”
“Whatever, don’t care.”
As they leave the restaurant, Brittany clasps Santana’s hand. Brittany is almost totally sober, having stuck to the one giant margarita, but she’s a little playful, poking at Santana’s side with her thumb, making her laugh as they board the subway. She’s really glad that she had a good time, and that she didn’t feel uncomfortable around Brittany’s boisterous friends. When they’re seated, Santana lays her head on Brittany’s shoulder again, and inhales sharply.
“Are you still hurting?”
“Unfortunately. I was okay at dinner, I guess because I wasn’t thinking about it, but I feel like crap again now.”
“Wanna lay in bed and I’ll go get you ice cream?”
“We can just stop on the way, you don’t have to go out specifically to get it for me when we’re going to pass like four stores.”
“Are you just afraid I won’t bring you your fancy hazelnut dark chocolate gelato?”
“You’re teasing me again about being an ice cream snob?”
“Me, teasing you? Never.” Brittany grins, and gives Santana a quick kiss on the temple. “I’m sorry you’re feeling gross.”
“It’s fine.” Santana waves her off. “I had a lot of fun tonight.”
“Did you, really?”
“I did, really. I never put together that Mercedes in my class was your friend Mercedes, which was pretty dumb on my part, since it’s not exactly a common name.”
“I’m glad you liked her. We roomed together for orientation, and she’s pretty cool.”
“Yeah, I’d definitely hang out with them again. I’m totally socially inept, coming up with conversation topics, but since they all never stop talking, it’s easy for me.”
They get off the subway, and Brittany insists on paying for Santana’s ice cream and bag of Snickers bites. Immediately upon getting back to her room, Santana changes into her pajamas and plugs in the heating pad. Brittany never gets bad periods, so she doesn’t really comprehend how painful it is for Santana, but she always tries to take care of her by rubbing her belly when she’s in pain, and holding her when she cries about absolutely nothing.
“Ugh.” Santana flops back on the bed, ripping the disposable heating pad off her abdomen and tossing it in the trash. “I’m so bloated and feel disgusting.”
“Ice cream and getting your cuddle on will make it better.”
“It does help, that’s for sure.”
