Some of us are never gonna look like our parents because we didn't eat paint chips or tan excessively or grow up in the time of lead gasoline or become alcoholics or pound 80 grams of the worst drugs the 80s had to offer or live in an era where our chronic illness can't/won't be treated or deal with repeated violations of OSHA's chemical safety laws over the course of 20 years or grow up with aerosols or the level of pollution our parents grew up with

#messages from knave#i don't think I'm gonna look like much of anyone on either side of my family#they were all serial smokers who grew up in slum conditions and they#all have chronic conditions that were completely untreated well into their twenties#nonenof them had access to dentistry or proper healthcare until they were well into their thirties#most of them were alcoholics for a long time#and of course they all lived around a monsanto plant for twenty years#so like. a lot of us will have our parent's features! but a lot of us will not age in the same way our parents did because society#as a whole is not being bombarded with the same level of crusty nasty bullshit it was 20 years ago
