#this is about the finnish translation of mark of athena#the line where percy goes 'he looks like a blond superman'#except instead of 'blondi' or 'vaaleatukkainen/hiuksinen' (both meaning blond hair#they used the word 'vaaleakutrinen' which means 'with blond locks' like he was fucken goldilocks#he would not say that >:(#anyway i've taken offense with a bunch of the decisions the translator made#mostly grammar-wise but also regarding some decisions to Not translate#things like leaving in miles instead of converting to kilometers and using mr. and mrs. even though there are equivalents in finnish#idk i keep like back translating it to english as i'm reading and thinking 'this can't be the most efficient finnish translation'
