As Dick looked down at his white haired baby, he wondered if her genetics knew that black hair was a dominant trait and by all accounts should've trumped Slade's silver hair (which wasn't even natural to begin with).
At the hospital, he said it probably wasn't white, just a very pale blonde and would darken as Elani aged. He could tell that Bruce was mentally listing any man he could think of with white hair, even as Dick told him sternly that he didn't want to know who the father was, so let it be.
Dick doubted Bruce would listen for very long.
Roy accompanied him home from the hospital, the only person Dick had told the full truth to. Considering Lian, Roy didn't have much room to judge, though he made relentless jabs about daddy issues. Slade was Bruce's age, after all.
In some time, Dick would allow the other Titans to come over and meet Elani, but he knew they'd likely piece things together quick once they saw her. He wasn't quite ready yet for their reactions. Slade had tormented them, and here Dick had just carried and birthed his child.
Roy helped Dick settle back home, pointing to the fridge full of meals the team had prepared for him as a gift. He told Dick to get some rest and to not be afraid to reach out for help.
The loneliness was felt immediately, his apartment painfully silent and empty. Normally it was a blessing to come home to. He loved his team mates, but it was nice to have a little space just for him.
Dick mostly rested, keeping Elani in his arms as he sat on the couch and mindlessly watched TV. He was restless but exhausted, a frustrating mixture that left to overthink.
He knew despite his scathing remarks to Slade to stay away, it wouldn’t matter. The man had yet to respect a single boundary Dick had ever tried to set. It was only a matter of time.
That thought alone made it hard to put Elani down in her crib. He chose this apartment so he could make the room without windows a nursery. He didn't want access to her to be easy, and yet he was sure Slade would find a way.
It got late and exhaustion wore out. He put Elani to bed, left his bedroom door open, and cranked the baby monitor volume all the way up. He sporadically got up to feed and take care of her as the soft cries came through the baby monitor.
He had only been laying down for a few minutes when his hair stood on end and he found himself suddenly awake. For a minute he didn't move, ears pricked for any sort of sound. No noise came, but Dick got to his feet, reaching just under his bed for a bat.
Soundlessly he slipped down the hall to the nursery. It didn't matter if he immediately recognized that the man in the nursery was Slade, seeing someone hold his baby left him chilled.
He froze, but Slade noticed him a moment later.
"At ease, Grayson. We both know you're not going to hit me while I'm holding her," his voice was quiet. Dick couldn't tell if it was for the sake of the sleeping baby or if it was because he was being treated like a startled animal. Possibly both.
"I thought I said I didn't want to see you again," Dick said, relaxing his hold on the bat but not putting it down altogether as he entered the nursery.
Slade laughs, unimpressed. "You also said the baby wasn't mine." One finger flicks a white curl on Elani's head. "I know when you're lying."
Dick scowled in return.
Slade's gaze turns down to the baby in his arms. "What's her name?"
"Elani Marie Grayson."
Slade makes a small noise of acknowledgement. "Thought your mother's name was Mary?"
"Marie sounded better." Dick hated that Slade remembered that detail about him. The voice in his head that sounded like his friends told him that Slade was weird and obsessed. It wasn't because there was anything more to their fucked up dynamic.
After a beat of silence, Dick sighed. "What do you want, Slade?"
"Just wanted to see my daughter."
"You already have one," Dick reminded him. "Elani is my daughter, not yours." He closed the distance between them. "If you care for her at all, you won't be in her life. You get people killed."
Slade's eyes scan over Dick's face, cracking a smile. "I don't recall your track record being much better."
Dick's lips press into a hard line, refusing to react. Not a day has gone by since Dick got pregnant that he didn't dread all the terrible things that could happen to Elani purely because she was his daughter. He knew he was just as big of a threat to Elani as Slade was.
But without further arguing, Slade pushed Elani into Dick's arms, ignoring the way Dick jerked his head away to give him a kiss.
"I'll come see you once you've recovered."
Dick didn't bother telling him not to.

Day 22– Brat Taming
Aaron Hotchner x reader
Warnings: orgasm denial, Dom!Hotch, masturbation, unprotected sex, spanking, light choking
Word Count: 1.4k
You knew when Aaron arrived home, he'd be furious. You'd made a decision on the last case that affected the whole team, and even though you'd been right, it was risky and irresponsible, and Aaron was livid with you. You hadn't seen him since the jet landed because he had paperwork to finish, staying longer partly to finish up, and partly to avoid you until he'd calmed down. He'd told you he'd meet you at home and you hadn't heard a peep from him since.
For good reason, you were pacing the floors, anxious to hear what he had to say about the stunt you pulled. He'd refrained from saying anything in front of the team, but you knew Aaron well enough to know he wouldn't let something like this go. It wasn't in his nature, and he needed to be sure you'd never put yourself in danger like this again. You had already prepared a speech, but you doubted he would listen to it. In all actuality, you'd be lucky if he listened to a word you said before he had his moment to say his piece.
As his car turned into the driveway, you started to get a nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach. You didn't want to argue with him—that was the last thing in the world you wanted. At the last minute you decided you'd wait for him in the bedroom, sitting idly at the foot of the bed, waiting for him.
He came in, putting his keys in the bowl on the counter, searching down the hall until he found you; when he spotted you, his gaze immediately grew darker, his eyes glassing over in an instant as he sat his briefcase down, shrugging off his blazer and hanging it up before he ever even spoke.
"Aaron, I know you're mad, but please—" he held up his finger to silence you, removing his tie from around his neck as he circled you like prey, his hands clasped together. He slipped off his shoes, crossing his arms over his chest as he tried to decide what to do with you. He grabbed your chin, tilting your face to meet his intimidating gaze.
"What you did was incredibly reckless. You could've gotten yourself killed," he began, his eyes dark and his lips pulled in a tight line across his face.
"I'm sorry—"
He shook his head, huffing under his breath as he began to unbutton his shirt. You stayed quiet and watched, wondering what he could possibly have up his sleeve—the last thing you wanted to do was argue with him.
"I think I need to show you what happens when you act bratty—that way we don't have this issue again," he said finally, sparking heat through your belly and beyond as you sat on the weight of his words. You went from anxious to excited in a millisecond, curious as to the endless possibilities. Once he had his shirt off, his pants came next, leaving him in only his boxers. Your first instinct was to reach out and touch him, but he promptly grabbed your hands and held them with his, stopping you.
"You don't get to touch. Touching is for good girls, and you've been so bad," you could only nod up at him, in a trance as he slipped your shirt over your head.
"I promise I'll be good," you offered weakly, and he almost gave you a smile until he remembered why he was upset in the first place—he took a deep breath, raking his eyes over you as he thought about what you said. You were taken by surprise when he kissed you roughly, fisting your hair as he groaned into your mouth.
"You should've thought about that before, sweetheart."
Aaron finished undressing you, standing you up so he could admire you. His hands caressed your body despite the fact that he was supposed to be teaching you a lesson—you could feel the love covering every inch of you. As if he remembered what he was supposed to be doing, he turned you around, bending you over the bed before he came to stand behind you. You let out a gasp as his hand met your ass, turning around to look at him so you could watch. He caught your gaze, rolling his eyes at you as he swatted your ass again—this time you let out a quiet moan, much to his dismay.
"Such a naughty girl—I should've known you'd love your punishment," you could practically hear the smile in his voice, although he was trying to keep it together. He spread your legs before shrugging his boxers down, lining up with you from behind. Just as you began to move against him, his hands came to your waist to hold you still.
"Will you be so eager when you find out you aren't allowed to cum? If you do, I won't touch you for a week—maybe longer, depending on that attitude of yours," he slid into you slowly, sighing heavily as he felt your walls clench around him. For a moment he stayed perfectly still, bottoming out in you with one final push, letting you squeeze him tight. It was torture in the best way—you couldn't wait for him to move but he felt so good in the most simple way.
"Aaron, please," you whimpered, peeling over your shoulder to look up at him. He stood his ground, unmoving even as you wiggled against him. His face was set in an amused expression, his eyebrow raised up at you questionably.
"Quit begging or I'll make you watch while I cum alone," he warned, so you quickly shut your mouth, folding your arms to rest under your chin. He was being the biggest tease, which was shocking coming from him. Aaron made it no secret that he couldn't resist you, and you were sure it was killing him to act so nonchalant now, which made it even more fun for you.
"Yes sir," you chirped, earning a groan in response followed by the fluid rolling of his hips into you at the slowest possible pace; you held your breath until he did it again.
"What was that?" He went completely still, so you turned around to meet his eyes, a teasing smile on your face.
"Yes sir," you repeated, a little more sarcastic this time around. You were rewarded by him pounding into you, gripping your hips for support as his hips slammed against you. You could only fist the sheets and shut your eyes tight, overcome with pleasure as he filled you in the best way.
"Nothing to say now, hmm?" He was relentless, never slowing down, not even a little bit. He poured himself over to you, giving you every ounce of emotion he could muster. It was so fucking sexy that you could hardly stand it—your legs trembled and your knees threatened to buckle under your weight, but his grip on you was firm, you weren't going anywhere.
"Feels so good," you mewled, followed by the light sound of him chuckling above you, his hand coming forward to snake around your throat.
"Naughty girl, you sound so sweet right now. It almost makes me forget how bratty you've been. Almost," his palm tightened around your neck, eliciting a string of profanity to fall from your lips. You were nearly there, so close that you were seeing stars. Just as you were reaching your high, Aaron pulled out of you, replacing your warmth with his hand. You were quick to turn around, whimpering at the loss of contact, but enthralled by watching him touch himself.
"Aaron," you whined, but he shook his head, beckoning you to come closer, his hand reaching for your chin.
"Be a good girl and swallow every drop," he instructed, bringing his cock to your mouth. Seconds later you were wrapping your lips around him, his salty release hitting the back of your throat as you did what he asked, your hands on your lap. His breathing was ragged as he peered down at you, bringing his mouth to meet yours with urgency. His forehead was pressed against yours, his hand cupping your face as he let go of a deep breath, his nose brushing yours.
"Don't ever do anything like that again. I'm serious," his voice faltered towards the end of his statement, so you pulled him forward in a hug, wrapping your arms around his waist.
"I learned my lesson."

What made you start shipping Thorinduil?
O hey! Thanks for the ask! ^^
Um, basically, when I first watched The Hobbit like 10 years ago? x'''D I really liked Thranduil but literally fell asleep during the other parts of the movie (yea I literally woke up just for Duil x'D) so shipping wasn't a thing for me back then which is why I'm so late to things
But that's not the question!
(Going under a cut cuz this got stupid long xD;;;)
At first, I just wanted to ship Thranduil with anyone--cuz he deserves love, damn it--so I just looked up ALL the ships [and yes I got scarred by a few... not mentioning which but it happened] and I actually started with Elrond, believe it or not, cuz who DOESN'T want to see the two hottest elf dads find love and comfort in each other.
This same idea is what led me to at first be good with Barduil because it's literally two hot dads but one's an elf and the other's a human. After like a week or something of reading fics for them and seeing pics (cuz, at this point, I was still working with just the first movie and what I remembered from the second when I watched it a decade ago) I actually found myself temporarily confused because in some fanart Bard and Thorin look pretty much the same (both short males with dark wavy hair and beards) and I got them mixed up a lot lmafo until I realized the best way to tell them apart is the beard thickness and Thorin's braids vs Bard's half-ponytail thing...
Then I saw THIS by @rinnirrinnir and I just... Q~Q
I suddenly remembered that this HAPPENED: Thranduil has always been Thorin's weak spot--he trusted and believed in this person so much that when he DIDN'T come to their aid that day his whole WORLD just... sort of fell apart (and not even because of Smaug but really because the person he put so much faith in just walked away and I imagine it must have been like watching your hero leave you--tho I doubt Thorin would ever admit that)--to the point that, even 100 years later and even with his company seeing him as their king and even with all his barbs and insults and blames and ire, he's still soft and in love and so easily rendered VULNERABLE by Thranduil that his elf sees right through him during the whole interaction even tho it's literally been like 200 years and Thranduil shouldn't KNOW HIM as well as he does; but like the same is also true for Thranduil because Thorin not only ignites his elf's own ire, forcing him from his calm and distant iciness to get all passionately up in Thorin's face, but also, literally, (re)opens his old wounds--his SCARS--and seriously for Duil to do that, to drop his walls--his illusion of perfection--like that...
Idk, as soon as it clicks that they've been vulnerable with each other CANONICALLY and that all their arguing really stems from this... "Once I trusted/relied on/believed in you and you let me down" and "Once I had hopes that we could build something beautiful together but reality reminded me that I'm old and ugly and not good enough (for you) so I thought it best to let you go when I should've held you" type thing... Pretty much any other pairing for Duil seems... bland?
And just the idea of them finally RECONCILING with each other and becoming the loving couple they could totally be >v<
Also, no lie, half the appeal of this is how well Thorin fits Mirkwood: like, he looks so lovely with all his earthy browns and metallic grays and lake blues accentuated by Thranduil's forest like he was MEANT for it... and you KNOW Duil would deck him out to highlight that--how well his dwarven mate actually fits into his beloved home--and, really, for all that Thorin fought to get back Erebor, I think him and Mirkwood would actually be a good fit because Thranduil's Halls ARE underground enough to satisfy a dwarf's need to be buried while still being open enough for an elf (which Erebor is NOT; seriously)
There's also the family situation--cause one of the appeals of Barduil, for example, is them banding together to parent their four kids--which: first of all, The Thranduil and Dis Sisterhood; second of all, Legolas (plus all his adopted siblings) and Fili and Kili as brothers (kinda, I know the dwarflings are Thorin's NEPHEWS but still) learning to be all kinds of mischievous shites together~; third of all... Thranduil sharing what he's learnt since the Last Alliance about fatherhood and childrearing with Thorin, Thorin validating all of it because he can see how strong and skilled all of Thranduil's kids are (even if they're all struggling at least a BIT with emotional displays because they've all been wounded somehow and rendered reserved--which Thorin could probably help with cuz canonically he's skilled af at getting Thranduil to come out of his icy shell and FEEL again; so: chances are he could easily do this with any elf, including Duil's kids), Thranduil getting farther validation by bonding well with Fili (because Fili strikes me as the more understanding of the two AND, since Legolas is the youngest elf of all Duil's kids, Fili being a big bro with him despite their ages [which make Fili much younger than Las] seems like it'd totally happen and be so flipping cute if it did~ >v< Duil would also totally love seeing that as Fili's Thorin's Honored Heir and if THEY can get along then there's real hope for the north's future) and eventually Kili (I could see him being more influenced by Thorin and his centuries of hatred [born out of his betrayed love] of Duil and, if you wanna keep the [annoying] romance plot he has with Tauriel then he'd probably also resent Duil for that too before realizing Thranduil literally cut all ties with his adopted daughter so she could BE with Kili even if their love story is so painfully contrived it hurts), and Thorin actually being adopted by all the elflings Duil adopted plus Las plus his few humans (let's face it: Aragorn is so Duil's too; that's why he's also Las' babysitter: they're really brothers lmao) PLUS all the Elder Elves that see Thranduil as both their king AND their son (because they adopted him and Oropher back when they first arrived after the fall of Doriath--some even taking on the role of grandparent) so suddenly Thorin goes from having just his sister and sister-sons left to having numerous parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, kids, etc-- Just: the family dynamics that could happen here are so sweet.
ANYWAY
The long and the short of it is really the throne room scene and realizing what their actions in that moment really meant~
Thanks again for the question! =D Remembering this was really fun All my love~!

𝕴 𝖜𝖔𝖐𝖊 𝖚𝖕 on Saturday, the day of the Quidditch match and wondered if it would even be worth it just to go.
"We could stay here all day." I murmured sleepily in his ear.
"You know it's the Slytherins' that'll be playing today." He murmured back, just as tired. Last night had been lovely, but also tiring. I felt extremely sore today as well.
"They're going to lose." I mumbled, rolling over and wrapping a blanket around me. It was cold in his room, despite the fact that it was November, he had not turned the heat on.
He seemed to have read where my thoughts were because he asked, "cold?"
"I don't understand how you can enjoy the coldness like this." I muttered, "I mean you're not even in the dungeons anymore!"
I shivered, burrowing deeper into the bed and he pulled me closer to his chest. "Your lips are a bit blue." he said cheerfully and I shuddered from cold and heat as he pressed his warm lips to my cold ones.
"How are your lips to warm?" I complained, "That's not fair."
He chuckled, "It comes to an advantage of mine now, doesn't it?" he pressed them to mine again. Then when we pulled apart, he rolled over on top of me to reach for his wand and he went ahead and lit a fire in the fireplace. "that should do the trick." he murmured.
"Thanks." I whispered, "When do we have to go down?"
"Mmm?" He asked, his head resting on my chest now, breathing softly.
"Nothing." I whispered, caressing his hair, and closed my own eyes to fall back asleep.
I left Severus' office twenty minutes before the match started so that I could go down without alerting that we were arriving together and also because I was starving. I wondered if they'd have spicy chicken wings for breakfast. Highly doubtful.
I sat down at the Hufflepuff next to Rose and Susan. Ernie and Justin came over to sit down in front of us. "So, now are you going to tell us who's going to win?" Ernie asked impatiently.
"Gryffindor." I said, mournfully spooning grape jelly on a piece of toast.
"Wonderful." Ernie said while Justin moaned. "We took bets with some other students."
I rolled my eyes. "You should've asked me before you made the bets."
"He did." Justin said, disgruntled, "At the three broomsticks before..."
We all looked down the table where Leanne was talking to Megan and some other Hufflepuff girls.
I watched Zacharias walking out of the Great Hall and rolled my eyes. "Zacharias is commentating." I said, "That'll be great."
"Yes." Justin said with a roll of his eyes, "You sound totally enthused about it."
"Let's just say he's going to piss the Gryffindors off." I said lightly. "And they'll want us crushed in the next match." I sighed, "How unfortunate."
"We'll beat them." Susan said confidentially.
"Don't jinx us." I said, standing up from the table and we headed down to the Quidditch pitch. Hermione joined us some time down and everyone greeted her quite cordially. She was seething mad and pulled me to the side.
"Harry put the Felix Felicis in Ron's drink!" She exclaimed angrily. "he could be expelled!"
"No he didn't." I said, starting to walk again, "He only wanted Ron to think he did so that Ron would feel lucky."
"Oh." Hermione said, looking abashed.
I shrugged, "It's better than finding out after the match."
"Was it going to be bad?" Hermione was tentatively.
"Well you did say the only reason that Ron saved the goals was because he had drank the potion but then he hadn't drank the potion and well... you know Ron." I said. "He's sensitive."
"I just... I don't understand why he hates me so much right now!" Hermione said, sounding close to tears.
"Because him and Ginny had a row and she brought you into it." I said.
"Why's that my fault?" Hermione asked as we caught up with the group.
"I don't really know." I said. "Because you kissed Viktor Krum or something like that. I think its jealousy."
Hermione glowered in the Gryffindor locker rooms direction. I heard her mutter "idiot." and then headed off to go sit with the Gryffindors.
Trang caught up with us at that point, wearing Ravenclaw colors.
"Hi!" I said brightly, Rose on my shoulders now. "This'll be your first school Quidditch game!"
"Can't be more impressive than the Quidditch World Cup." Trang said, grinning and I noticed she was wearing her Omnioculars around her neck.
"You'd be surprised." I admitted. "Especially since it's Gryffindor vs. Slytherin that's playing today."
I usually sat with the Gryffindors on their side, near the teacher's podium. Now, I was sitting on the Hufflepuff side (for the first time) which gave a very different view of the stadium: a long view rather than wide.
The Gryffindors cheered as the Gryffindor team walked out onto the field, Harry in the front, his Firebolt across his shoulder. Then the Slytherins cheered as their team walked out onto the field. I noticed that Malfoy wasn't there as the seeker.
The two team captains shook hands and I leaned over to Trang and asked, "You never told me if you made it onto the Ravenclaw team."
"Yes I did." Trang said and then frowned, "Didn't I?"
"What position?" I asked curiously.
"Chaser." She said, sounding extremely satisfied.
"Congratulations." I said sincerely as the two teams flew upward.
"Well, there they go, and I think we're all surprised to see the team that Potter's put together this year." Zacharias started off immediately and I groaned, leaning my head on my hand, "Many thought, given Ronald Weasley's patch performance as Keeper last year, that he might be off the team, but of course, a close personal friendship with the Captain does help..."
And putting a confounding charm on the better Keeper always helped too. "Oh, and here comes Slytherin's first attempt on goal, it's Urquhart streaking down the pitch and Weasley saves it, well, he's bound to get lucky sometimes, I suppose..."
"Wonderful." I muttered under my breath. "Why'd I let him stay on the team?"
Trang giggled and we watched the game progress. Zacharias continued to beat down on Ginny and Ron, wondering if they were only there because Harry liked them. I had the strangest urge to hex Zacharias. Of course, I didn't really like Ron either, what a git, but Ginny was a great person and a wonderful Chaser.
Ginny scored four goals and Ron saved seven goals and Zacharias had to stop berating them. He started on the newest beaters that Harry had on the team now. "Of course, Coote isn't really the usual build for a beater, they've generally got a bit more muscle-"
Harry shouted something at Coote as he passed by, who grinned and whacked a bludger at the new Slytherin Seeker and the bludger hit it's mark.
"I don't know." Trang muttered in my ear, "It's a bit tame."
I smiled a little bit but said nothing. I could see that as the Quidditch Cup was the only match she'd seen, anything else might look a little tame. I supposed it would've been more exciting if Draco had been on the team. Hitting bludgers at random, innocent people in the crowds and grabbing the ends of people's firebolts. But I supposed he had other things to worry about this year. I supposed my unnecessary comment in the robe shop hadn't helped either.
The Slytherin Seeker came around sometime later, colliding into Harry. I booed with the other Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws but Madam Hooch didn't see it and Harry was zooming after the other seeker.
I noticed that the snitch was flying high above the two seekers and I realized that the Slytherin seeker had seen it. Harry on the other hand, had not. Zacharias felt a need to say this out loud, "And I think Harper of Slytherin's seen the Snitch! Yes, he's certainly seen something Potter hasn't."
Lovely. I noticed even from across the field that Severus had a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes, looking away from him.
Harry was accelerating after Harper and I watched as he opened his mouth and shouted something at Harper. Harper fumbled his grab, the snitch flew through his fingers and Harper continued upwards, past the Snitch, and Harry grabbed it instead.
He hurtled back towards the ground and the Gryffindor side of the pitch cheered. The rest of the Gryffindor team met Harry down on the ground in a group hug except for Ginny. I watched as she flew straight into the commentator's podium and I grinned. The crowd hooted and laughed, including Slytherins. Ginny's voice could be heard by the magical megaphone, "Forgot to brake, Professor, sorry."
I got up with rest of the Hufflepuffs and Trang and left the Quidditch stadium.
"I'm going to go ahead and hang out with Anthony, Terry, and Luna." Trang said brightly, with a wave of her hand, "See you around."
"See ya Trang." I said and went ahead up to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office. Severus wasn't in yet. I sighed, setting my cloak, gloves, scarf, and boots, putting them near the fireplace and warmed myself by it. I realized I was hungry and I figured I could go down to the kitchen, see Dobby, and get some food.
The door opened and I came face to face with Severus.
"Oh, hello!" I said brightly. "I was just going to get some food, do you want some?"
Severus sighed, closing the door behind him, "Nonsense." He pointed his wand at his desk and a plate of different foods appeared there.
"I thought you couldn't create food?" I asked, frowning and taking a donut and holding it up to the light as though it was a counterfeit bill. "It's in The Five Principal Exceptions to Gamp's Law. Food, Magical Energy, Love, Life, and Knowledge."
"Correct." Severus said. "But I didn't create it, I simply summoned it from somewhere else in the world."
I grinned, "so a bakery will be missing a load of donuts then."
He rolled his eyes. "Dummy, I summoned it from the Hogwarts kitchen."
I pursed my lips. "Jerk."
He muttered something under his breath that I ignored. He sighed then and said, "You were right though."
"About which thing?" I asked lightly before carefully biting into a vanilla frosted donut with star sprinkles. We served these? I'd certainly never seen them on the breakfast table before except for Halloween.
"Ooooh, you've got a big ego." Severus said, opening up the drapes to let in natural light. "About not going to the Quidditch pitch today."
"Because you lost?" I smirked, putting a hand under my mouth to catch crumbs.
"Because we could've just stayed in bed." Severus said in a dangerous voice.
"Oh." I said lightly. "Well yes, of course, that's a good reason as well."
Severus hung his cloak up next to mine and set his boots next to mine as well. He sat down at his desk, moving the food off onto a chair and started to grade homework.
I ate other things like fruit and meat before he cleared the trays away. Then I curled up in a chair next to his and simply sat there while he graded homework and quizzes. He went through them very fast, many of them had bad grades on them with the occasional O or EE. (A was technically a good grade, but not for me, so I didn't count it).
After a few hours, I started dozing and when I awoke, I was on the bed with a blanket over me though he was still at his desk.
"What time is it?" I asked hoarsely, my throat felt horrible.
"A few hours." Severus said slowly, writing something down on a piece of parchment and then checked a clock. "Three and a half."
"I should go down to dinner." I said softly, sliding out of bed.
He looked at me and opened his mouth and then closed it. "Yes, perhaps you should. I'll get this done before you get back, I promise."
I smiled gently and kissed his cheek. "I'll take my time then."
I walked down to dinner and enjoyed spicy chicken wings and a couple glasses of milk. But I wasn't quite ready to go back upstairs. Perhaps it was the heavy feeling I had from all the food or maybe it was the feeling of separation from the other students.
I walked outside for a moment, standing in the snow but I didn't really feel the cold on my bare feet. Actually, the snow under my feet felt almost warm, in a way. A slushy, gritty, thin, fragile feeling. There was water and mud and grass and slush. The air was cold and it smelled like winter.
I shouldn't be out here, I knew, but I needed some alone time. I looked down and noticed my stomach was poking out a little bit in a round shape. I knew before I would've thought it to be all the food I ate and now...
I found that tears were dripping down my face for no reason at all and quickly wiped them away. I headed back inside the castle and realized that my feet were numb from cold and I quickly hurried up to the office where my love was waiting.
"Your lips are blue." He greeted me, looking up from his desk. "Did you go outside?"
"Oh, yeah, just for a few minutes," I admitted, sitting down before the fire. "Maybe five-ten minutes tops."
"Without shoes or a cloak?" He asked in disbelief. There was the sound of him getting up from the chair. "Why?"
"Just needed a few minutes, that's all." I said. There was some silence, I knew he was standing somewhere behind me but I didn't turn around. I stared into the fire, watching the long red-orange-yellow flames dancing. The logs were crisp brown but they didn't really seem to burn and the fire was hot, sending of waves of heat in small rounds, but not so badly that it was uncomfortable. "I don't... I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to hide... hide the bump. It's five months- almost- and I'm starting to show a bit more than before."
"There's concealment spells." Severus said softly. "Dumbledore already has protocol in place. He believes it would be best if we kept it a secret until our child is actually born."
I closed my eyes, letting his words sink in. Our child. It was the first time he had said something like that and I loved it immensely.
He knelt down, putting a hand on my shoulder and said, "Everything's going to be okay you know. We- you're doing everything your supposed to be doing."
"I know." I said softly, reaching up to put a hand over his own. "I know." Then I stood up and asked, "Ready for bed?"
He got to his feet as well and turned off the lights, giving me a small smile. "I'll join you in a moment."
"Okay." I whispered, kissing him lightly on the cheek and climbed into bed. I don't know what he did, but I fell asleep before he got back.
🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
𝕾𝖊𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖚𝖘 𝖜𝖆𝖘 𝖋𝖗𝖚𝖘𝖙𝖗𝖆𝖙𝖊𝖉 the next morning, already sitting at his desk, tapping his fingers against the wood in a pattern.
"Did you get any sleep last night?" I asked, sitting up and stretching.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah, I did." Severus said, sounding distracted.
I got out of bed and got dressed, slipping on my robes and shoes. I went over to the window and looked down at the blinding snow. I wondered if the lake was frozen enough to go ice skating on it and highly doubted it.
"I'm going to go get some breakfast." I said, turning away from the window. Green spots appeared in my visions from the glare.
"Okay." Severus said, getting up from his chair and coming over to kiss my cheek. "See you later."
I headed out of the office, down the hallway, turned to the left, headed down some stairs, turned right and then found my way to the Great Hall.
I sat down at the Hufflepuff table and Trang came over immediately, looking exhausted.
"You look tired." I said, reaching for the grape jelly and a stack of toast.
"I stayed up late doing homework." Trang said, taking off her glasses and rubbing her eyes. She reached for a crumpet.
"That makes sense." I said absentmindedly. "What's your favorite class?"
"Ancient Runes." Trang said, "It's a fascinating class. And translating pages! Well, it's just like a puzzle really. I wonder what sorts of jobs I can get with Ancient Runes."
"Um, curse breaking." I said, trying to remember the job brochures from last year. "I don't really remember, I was only looking at healing and auror training."
"I'd like to be an Auror." Trang said thoughtfully.
"Maybe you could become the Muggle Studies Professor here." I said lightly, carefully tearing off the crust around the toast.
Trang rolled her eyes. "If I was going to teach a subject here, I'd teach Ancient Runes."
I shrugged, spreading jelly on the toast.
"What about you?" Trang asked, buttering her crumpet. "What class would you teach, given the choice?"
"Care of Magical Creatures." I answered immediately.
Trang stared at me, a raised eyebrow.
"What?" I asked impatiently.
Trang shrugged, "Just a surprise, you never were an animal person."
I rolled my eyes. "These aren't animals, they're magical creatures. There is a very specific difference."
"Oh?" Trang asked, raising her eyebrow again, "So your scared of dogs, cats, mice, rats, guinea pigs, geese, ducks, birds in general, but not magical creatures that breathe fire and have poisonous bites?"
"Okay look." I said, a bit annoyed, "I don't like dogs because they jump on you with their claws and they bite you. I don't like cats because they will scratch and bite. Mice and rats are a given fear. Guinea pigs also fall under the biting category, just like rabbits. And I don't like birds because of watching The Birds by Alfred Hitchcock 1963 horror film. That's your fault, by the way, you made me watch that."
"Shouldn't you be scared of rabbits too, with that logic?" Trang asked, smirking now. "They have the ability to bite too."
"Well, the more accurate definition is nip. And I did have a fear at first, but Sushi's a perfect little angel. He's never bitten me once." I said satisfied.
"And you were the one who said she liked horror movies." Trang said, still smirking and put her glasses on again. "Not my fault."
I glared at her, rolled my eyes, and continued to eat my toast. "But I like magical creatures." I said after I finished off my slice of toast.
"Oh yes," Trang said with a roll of her eyes, "because magical creatures won't bite or scratch or even kill you."
I sighed. "Magical Creatures are more predictable. There are rules when it comes to magical creatures. For example: hippogriffs. You bow, keep eye contact. The hippogriff doesn't bow back, you back off. If it does bow back, you approach and you make sure not to insult it. The only reason you'd get hurt around a hippogriff is by ignoring the cultural and magical rules."
Trang snorted, "Fair point but there are some creatures that can't be reasoned with!"
"Like?"
"Dragons, Fire-crabs, dragons, basilisks, dragons, acromantulas, and more dragons." Trang said, picking up a donut hole with each creature she named.
"That's a lot of dragons." I smirked.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them named at least 10 different types of dragons." Trang recited.
"Alright then." I consented, amused, "But, if you think logically, I'm not going to bring dragons or basilisks or acromantulas into the classroom. So, therefore, I wouldn't have to interact with them, correct?"
"Fair point." Trang consented, "Do you want to go for a walk?"
"Sure." I said and we got up from the table and went to our respective House common rooms to grab scarfs and hats and met in the entrance hall.
"Lake route or Hagrid route?" Trang asked as we exited the castle doors, meeting a blast of cold wind.
"Lake route." I said. "I'd like to see how frozen the lake is."
"Oh? Is there a fancy way of wizarding ice skating?" Trang asked in an interested voice but the words fell somewhat clumsily from her mouth.
"There's a number of spells that can be done on the feet or skates, if that's what you mean." I replied.
We started our circuit around the large body of water. The wind had died down and was blowing against our backs now, rather than our faces and it was better that way.
We were halfway around the lake when Trang asked a sudden question.
"What do you think about Draco Malfoy?"
I looked at her sparingly. "Like...?"
Trang hesitated and then said, "He's hot."
I choked on my next words and stared at her in amazement. Then I sputtered, "His Dad kidnapped you!"
Trang's flushed and turned her head towards the lake, "Yes, I know. But he's been coming onto me-"
"Of course he is!" I replied angrily. "Haven't you noticed your the person that the Death Eaters take to get to me?"
"So you think he's a Death Eater?" Trang asked, actually sounding disappointed.
"Of course he's a Death Eater." I snorted. "Voldemort made him replace his father."
Trang was silent for another moment and then said, "I wonder what he's doing."
"I don't know." I replied shortly. "Not yet, anyways."
"I wonder when you'll find out." She said.
I already knew, of course, but there was something off about Trang right now. I stopped walking and turned to face her, curiously. She looked at me now, hesitantly and then asked, "Okay, did I upset you? I shouldn't have said anything about how hot he was, should I have?"
I frowned briefly. I knew Draco was having Crabbe and Goyle using the Polyjuice potion a lot, but what about Draco? Was this Draco in front of me or was I turning into Uncle Moody, paranoid about everything? Of course, I thought, I had a good reason to be paranoid.
"No." I said slowly and then started to walk again. I couldn't let this person out of my sight. Trang wouldn't be interested in Draco because she had Oliver. So...
It had definitely been the real Trang at breakfast which meant that when we'd gone to get our winter clothes separately, that must've been when Draco- or another person- had nabbed Trang.
Harry and Ron had stuck Crabbe and Goyle in the broom closet. Where the hell was Trang?
I kept a slow pace outside though, no faster than we had been going and now we were starting around the other side.
"Do you think the lakes cold enough?" Trang asked, sounding curious.
"I don't know." I replied honestly, trying to keep up pretenses. I walked down the slope to the lake, Trang following me. I was self-conscious of the fact that my heart was beating very quickly. If whoever this was, wanted to push me in... if the lake wasn't frozen solid...
Trang pushed ahead, carefully putting one foot on the lake and leaning forward, testing the weight. "It seems solid enough." She said and put both feet on the lake and then jumped. Nothing happened.
She slid out onto the lake and, hesitating, I followed. Okay, maybe I was paranoid. After all, I'd liked multiple boys at the same time... it didn't mean anything at all. I really was becoming just like Uncle Moody.
We ice skated for exactly forty-two minutes which meant, if this wasn't Trang and was someone who had drank Polyjuice Potion, they had five minutes to get back up to the castle. Indeed, Trang was hurrying towards the castle quite fast.
I hurried alongside her and asked, "What's the hurry?"
"I just remembered a homework assignment due tomorrow that is going to take some time to do. Maybe we should go to the library next."
"Sure." I replied nonchalantly. "That sounds like a good idea."
We were now walking up the marble steps. Well, I was walking, she was running. I started to run to and as we reached the door, she said, "We'll go to our common rooms and meet each other in the library?"
She was already moving towards the stairs and I said, "Sure."
I waited for a few seconds as she hurried up the stairs and then, looking around, turned into a cat and hurried after her. She made her way towards what I figured was the Ravenclaw tower and then ducked away into a classroom, I slipped inside, hiding beside a black trash can.
Trang hurried over to a wardrobe and opened it up, bringing out Trang's real body, positioning her at the desk, making it look as though she had fallen asleep there: her arms crossed in front of her, her cheek resting on her arms.
I turned human, the other Trang's back was to me, and I said, "Who are you?"
The fake Trang jumped and turned, holding their hands out cautiously. My wand was pointed at their heart and I had my teeth gritted.
"You weren't supposed to find out." Trang's voice said. "It was just to hang out with you, you weren't going to with the real me."
I wasn't exactly sure who this person was or why I wouldn't have hung out with them. I conjured a patronus and sent it on it's way.
"Where is that going?" Trang's lovely eyes watched the patronus wander out the door.
"No where." I replied, glaring at Trang.
"What gave it away?" Trang asked. When I didn't respond she elaborated, "I mean, how did you know I wasn't the real Trang?"
"When you started to talk about Draco." I replied. "Trang would never have fallen in love with someone like him, no matter how hot he is."
Trang snorted, "Love? You're a bit naïve, don't you think? I never said I was in love, I simply said that he was hot and there is a legitimate difference."
"Elizabeth?" Professor Snape's voice came from behind me, "You sent for me?" And then he took in the scene of the two Trang's and said in a more curt voice, "I see."
He was silent and then strode towards the standing Trang and took her by the arm and led her out of the room.
"But-" I complained, "I want to know-"
He was gone, striding off down the hallway with Trang's arm in his grip. I turned to the sitting Trang and hurried over. "Enervate."
She stirred and I said, "Afternoon Trang."
She looked up at me sleepily and then looked around at the classroom and asked, "How in the world did I get in here?"
"You don't remember?"
Trang frowned, looking around at the classroom and then stood up. "Well... no. I remember breakfast, we were going to go on a walk so I came up to the Ravenclaw Tower and that's the last thing I remember..."
"Yes." I replied coolly. "someone stunned you and became you. Come on."
She followed me down to the Defense Against the Dark Arts room. I had a good idea of who had been using the Polyjuice Potion now and wanted to confirm it.
As we neared the office, the door opened and an angry Severus Snape and an abashed Blaise Zabini stepped out of the office.
Blaise flushed, looking at both Trang and me. "Er- I'm sorry."
I shook my head, "I would've hung out with you if you wanted," I started and realized that it was true, "you didn't have to stun my friend and impersonate her."
He gave a curt nod, his cheeks flushed, and then hurried off towards the staircase that led for the dungeons.
"Well." Trang said awkwardly, unable to meet Professor Snape's eyes and looked at me instead. "I'm sure you two have things to umm, talk about you know?" She winked at me and I groaned.
"You're not supposed to know!" I said exasperated, glancing at Severus, who's face was red.
"Oh!" Trang asked, her face red now too, "Sorry!" She hurried away too and I turned to face Severus, who jerked his head towards his office door, marching inside. I followed inside, closing the door behind me.
We went up to his office and he shut the door behind us and went to sit down on the bed. I remained standing, hesitant.
"Come here." Severus sighed and I went, sitting down next to him.
"I should've told you that Trang knew." I muttered, "Sorry about that."
"Does anyone else know?" Severus asked, "Besides Dumbledore and your father."
"Harry." I muttered, "But I think you might've already have known that from Occlumency."
"Right." Severus said.
"Umm, Trang also knows about... about the baby." I said, sucking in my cheeks. "I confide everything with her."
Severus nodded, "she's your best friend, I understand."
"Why did... was it really because Blaise wanted to hang out with me?" I asked skeptically, "It seems like a bit of a stretch, doesn't it?"
"He's a Slytherin, Elizabeth." Severus said, sounding tense and bored at the same time. "How could he possibly hang out with you like a friend? Not when half the students' parents are Death Eaters. Not when he has a reputation to uphold. He can't be friendly with Potter's possible, rumored sister and even if that rumor doesn't turn out to be true, she's still a target of the Dark Lord and the daughter of a werewolf. Those are all big no nos. And yet, he does want to hang out with you and impersonating your best friend is the only way he's going to accomplish that."
"It's stupid!" I exclaimed. "I mean, obviously, I don't like him the way that I like you, but he's a nice boy, I think. I hate Slytherins with a passion but he wouldn't be the worst friend I've ever had."
Severus sighed, "All Slytherins?"
"You were sorted into the wrong house." I said. "You were supposed to be a Gryffindor."
Severus glared at me, "No, I wasn't."
"The Sorting Hat has only made seven sorting mistakes in it's entire career." I explained, "You, are one of them."
"Who are the other six?" Severus asked, looking a bit disturbed from this information.
"Don't know." I replied cheerfully, standing up to take off my cloak, gloves, scarf, and boots. "but I have guesses."
"Who?" He asked again.
"Well, I think Harry because he was supposed to be in Slytherin. Then there was Ron who was supposed to be in Hufflepuff, Hermione who was supposed to be in Ravenclaw, and then I was supposed to be in Gryffindor. But of course, I don't know if I should be counted, considering my position in this world. I would also guess that Peter Pettigrew would have been a sorting mistake- he should've been in Slytherin I think."
Severus was glowering now, "Potter? In Slytherin?"
I shrugged, "Doubt all you want Sev. I always know what I'm talking about. Hell, even Dumbledore thinks we sort to young. People aren't developed at that age, they- we don't know who we are at eleven and neither does the Sorting Hat."
Severus was quiet, pacing the room now.
I frowned, peering at him curiously and then asked, "Are you alright?"
"Hmm? Yeah, I'm fine Elizabeth, sorry." Severus said, "But when you believe something your whole life, it's hard to change that perception."
I shrugged, "Well I mean, it's quite alright you know. There are anomalies in every house."
For some reason, Severus was very amused by this comment though he wouldn't tell me why.
I went back out for lunch and stayed in the library till dinner. After dinner, I returned to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office. Severus was still working at the desk, his quill flying across the paper, circling and underlining things.
I looked over his shoulder briefly. He tossed his quill into the ink well, turning the chair around to face me, and pulled me onto his lap.
I pressed my lips to his, closing my eyes, a blush creeping up my cheeks. His lips moved in a furious, careful, dangerous, loving way. Familiar and different at the same time. His hand behind my head, fingers tangled in my hair. The other arm wrapped around my hips, tight- protective almost.
We slowly shifted to the bed, the sheets and blankets a crumpled mess as our two bodies moved together fast and slow, rolling over carefully before settling down, our bodies tangled together.
Severus pulled the sheets around me as our breathing slowed. His eyes were shining, his hair was swept back from his face. I reached out, holding a lock of hair in my hand. I never understood the belief that his hair was oily. No, it was silky, soft, beautiful.
I pressed my lips to his chest, biting. His left arm kept me on my side, curled up next to him, my head on his chest. His lips were pressed against the top of my hair.
I lay awake for a long time, after Severus had fallen asleep, thinking. Though I had told Trang that I wanted to come up with a baby name on the spot, I kept turning names over in my head.
There were so many names out there that would fit my child. I wasn't sure if it was a boy or a girl, of course (I'd told Severus it was going to be a surprise) but I couldn't help thinking the names, over and over.
My favorite boy name was Frederick James Snape. Of course, I highly doubted that Severus would be keen to have any of our children have James as a first or middle name. But I liked the sound of it regardless.
Then of course, there was naming the baby boy after Sirius or Uncle Moody or Dad or Severus or even Cedric.
Girl names were a bit easier. Lily kept popping up for one thing but I wasn't sure how much I liked that idea. After all, Severus had originally been in love with my mother and whenever I thought of that, I always had to think of the idea that perhaps Severus only loved me because I was Lily's daughter- because we looked alike. If I named my daughter Lily. . . well, I didn't know.
I liked the name Trang, I really did, but I wasn't sure I wanted to name my daughter that name. Of course, I really liked the name Rebecca and also Naomi.
I snuggled deeper into Severus' chest. I wondered what his mother's name had been. I wondered how pretty it was and if I could incorporate it as a middle name.
I wrapped the blanket tighter around me, feeling a draft coming from under the door, though the fireplace was lit.
I closed my eyes. Cedric was a good name. Yes, yes it was.

Middenheim, City of the Wolf / PREV
Khorne's edicts against magic were unfortunate. How easy manipulating the winds would've made his ultimate goal, but it was only a delay. Bloodshed. He needed it just as his brother did, but more than that: the bloodshed of aethyr wielders. With enough of them, he would not have to bother with a mass slaughter, though if push came to shove...
" Simple murder is not enough. No, we must observe the rituals. Traitors and magic wielders both are these vermin!" Halle-Khade had told his fellow Magus' at their latest get-together. As suspected, they had found Tzeentch's legions secreted within their own cults. " We will give them to Khorne in a great bloodletting and so right this wrong against us, against the God of Blood!"
That is what he had told them and they had believed him. Bless the ignorance of the Bloodkin and their quick passions. None recognized the sigils and runes he put to them, none called him a liar when he claimed them to be the Blood God's own, written in the black blood of his daemons. The latter had been true, but the former.....
" We will give Khorne this offering and he will grant us fire and blood and steel in return. The City of Wolves will burn and sweep away the Tzeentchian Infestation in one feel swoop!"
Only Klaus had not cheered at the proclamation. He feigned stoicism, but Hallebjorn had seen through that. It was distrust. Fury. And that had been surprising and entertaining that a Khornate would have the sense to distrust him.
Surprising, entertaining, and suspect.
---
" I do not trust his lying tongue."
Grand Magus Klaus fiddled with a rune-scored blade, musing angrily to himself. He had stated such sentiments, often and loudly, almost everyday since the first Great Conclave was called. The meeting had adjourned without incident, but the Cult Leader felt a wrongness in his soul and twitch in his blade hand anytime he thought of the red-haired leader of the Wolfborne.
" I should have taken his head!" growled the broad man, stabbing the blade into the wall, no doubt envisioning it was Hallebjorn's very own flesh. It was a mistake. The Wolfborne's master should've died at his hand and he could feel the error deep in his blood. Nevermind that the man had been right, and that Tzeentchian scum had been combed from the ranks. Not just his own, but the other cults infesting the city too. That had been enough to win their loyalty to Hallebjorn's cause.
But Klaus refused to be swayed.
By agreement, the captured Tzeentchians had been kept rather than killed, for the ceremony. A Great Offering of Blood to shake the city of the Purple Hand and Red Crown's control. Klaus had made his own preparations and taken to keeping a new, grim accoutrement around his neck. One of the wizards of the Purple Hand, still living, it's palm carved and scored with the runes of the Blood Father....

Together Forever: "ALN" Story (Pre-Serum Omega!Steve and Alpha!Bucky Modern Domestic AU)
Two:
Arriving at Howling Commandos, Steve felt the same jitters that he had on his wedding day. A mix of excitement and anxiousness. Thankfully no nausea nor morning sickness. Only the good stuff. Just like the memories.
"Mr. Barnes," the beta man smiled, holding the back passenger door open for Bucky, assisting the older man out of the town car.
"Thank you," Bucky returned the smile. With a firm grip on his cane, he rounded the Rolls-Royce so he could get the door for his husband. Mimicking the driver, Bucky held his hand out for Steve's, "Mr. Barnes."
Playfully, Steve rolled his eyes, but accepted his husband's hand. Grateful for him, because even with his bum hip and the many replacements that came with it, he was still sturdier than Steve. To show his appreciation, Steve stood on his tiptoes so he could give him a kiss.
"Golly gee, Mr. Barnes," Bucky teased, "That's one hell of a tip."
"You big goof," Steve affectionately swatted at his husband, but kept his grip on the alpha's arm as he guided them inside of the brewery.
For a moment, Steve was relieved that there wasn't an overwhelming amount of decorations covering the venue. However, that only lasted a moment. As soon as they were inside, they were bombarded with streamers, balloons, and even life-size cardboard cutouts of their wedding portraits. Should've known, he supposed. After all, Cori had a way of going above and beyond for those she loves. Especially once she made a name for herself and was able to shower those loved ones with the riches that came from being a successful actress.
As though she had stepped out of The Great Gatsby, the hostess correctly assumed, "Mr. and Mr. Barnes?"
Mutely, both men nodded following the flapper as she led them inside of the party. And if the men thought that the lobby was ostentatious, they definitely weren't prepared for the rest of dining hall. The black and gold art deco decorations were cranked up to eleven, and the men couldn't do anything but stand there for a moment, just taking it all in.
The eighty-plus year olds stood there, slack-jawed. Not even noticing that their loved ones had gathered at the entrance until Kit loudly greeted, "SURPRISE!"
"It's not a surprise party," Cori rolled her eyes, shoving her sibling.
"And a good thing too," Nevie's son, Arden commented, causing Ian's younger daughter, Ryker, to giggle.
Especially when Kit's youngest son, Parker added, "Yeah, a heart attack is the last thing we need."
Meanwhile, Dani and Finn's youngest kids rushed forward to hug their grandfathers. With all the energy of being ten year olds and dressed to the nines, the third set of Harris-Barnes twins called out excitedly. Eager to get to the men before their siblings or cousins could.
"Happy anniversary, pawpaw!" Billie grinned, being her mother's perfect mini-me.
"Thank you, sweetie," Steve smiled, being careful to not crush the feather hair piece, he kissed her freckled cheek. "Thank you very much."
The little girl beamed up at him with so much love, and Steve couldn't help but hold her tight for just a moment longer. After all, he knew how quickly time moved. Just look at how fast the past fifty years had gone by. It only led to the conclusion that the next twenty or so – optimistically speaking – were going to breeze right by.
"Pappy, can we have cake now?" Gus asked, gazing up at Bucky with all the love and mischief that only kids seemed to have.
"Augustus," Finn warned, quirking a brow that would put Sarah Rogers' Look to shame.
"But daddy, you said we could have cake!" The little boy argued.
One of his older brothers – Emmett, to be more exact – scooped him up and carried him further into the party space. But not before he, himself, could kiss his alpha grandfather a kiss on his weathered, wrinkly cheek.
Looking at everyone standing there, celebrating him and Bucky, and their love, made Steve teary-eyed. They had done this, he and Bucky. They had stood out there in the courtyard, all those years ago, and proclaimed their love for one another. They had chosen each other and created the life they have. But there was something about seeing all of their loved ones there that got to Steve.
Bucky pulled him closer, kissing the petite omega's temple. Pride flowed through the bond, mixing with the never ending love and affection. Into Steve's good ear, he said, "You did good, Stevie. You did real good."
Preening, Steve gazed up at his mate and shook his head. Correcting, "We. We did good."
The alpha's grin grew, crinkling up to his steel-blue eyes. All those crow's feet wrinkles being some of Steve's favorite. Hell, who was Steve kidding? All of Bucky's wrinkles were Steve's favorite because each one was a reminder that they had lived a long and happy life together. Just like Bucky had promised him all those years ago.
"Alright," Bitsy clapped her hands to gain their loved ones' attention. Deciding, "Let's give the happy couple some air."
Friends and family alike congratulated Steve and Bucky before going back to what they were doing before the guests of honor arrived. Not that Steve nor Bucky minded. Steve had never been the type who wanted to be the center of attention, and Bucky always tried to make his husband as comfortable as possible.
"Happy anniversary," Bitsy smiled, greeting her fathers and giving them each a kiss on their cheeks.
"Thank you, sweet pea," Steve grinned, rubbing over her back.
"How's it feel to be back?" Bucky asked. After a decade away, Steve imagined that things were going to be weird. Especially since she was now teaching at the first dance school that she was taught at.
"Weird," Bitsy admitted. "But good too. Didn't realize how lonely I was until I was around you weirdos again."
"Aww, you did miss us," Ollie mocked, pulling his younger sister in tight. He probably would've given her a noogie if they weren't at a soiree. Because even though they were in their early forties and early fifties, they were still siblings.
A bittersweet fondness rose to the surface of the bond. Steve knew that it was hard for Bucky. He remembered the pain that caked the lining of their bond after the passing of Becca. It hadn't been easy on any of the family members. But it had hit Bucky especially hard. After all, he had grown in the womb with her. He learned how to walk and talk and so many other countless things alongside her. And while she had lived a long and happy life, that didn't change the hurt. Sure, having Mandy and Tibby helped, but it wasn't the same.
It all reminded him of their girls and how difficult that first year apart from each other was. Yes, they had missed everyone, but not the same way that they missed each other.
To try and appease that dormant pain, Steve gave Bucky's mechanical prosthetic hand a squeeze. Sure, it wasn't the same as squeezing his flesh hand, but it still could feel the pressure, and the alpha could feel the tenderness through the gesture.
As the men made their way over to a table just for them, more of their loved ones congratulated them. Their in-laws, siblings, nieces, and nephews. Their children, their grandchildren, and even Kit's one year old granddaughter, Lily, reached out her chubby hands towards her great grandfathers. It ballooned Steve's heart and made him feel like he might float away from being loved so much.
"Hi, baby," Bucky smiled, bringing the chubby baby hand up so he could kiss the palm. Lily's grin grew, showing the few teeth that she had gained so far. Still holding her arms out, Bucky took her in his arms. Immediately, she tipped forward and nuzzled her face against his neck so she could scent the alpha, not that he minded. And with how her mom, Keaton, was smiling, Steve knew that she was melting at the sight just like he was.
Affectionately marking Lily's back, Bucky closed his eyes. No doubt remembering what it was like when their children were that little. No doubt remembering when their grandchildren were that little. And now this. Four generations of love.
How'd they get this lucky?

Kari gave a tiny giggle when Hawks ruffled her hair then looked up at Core, who was relaxing a bit when Hawks spoke.
It took a while, a bit over an hour, to get to Kari's childhood home. But they eventually got there and Core simply stood infront of the place, frowning a bit. "I... Never thought I'd be able to come back on my own terms." He muttered softly, looking down. Kari blinked, seeing Core's slight hesitation. So, she nudged him gently and took a few steps forward, towards the old door.
"C'mon, I'm right here with ya." She chirped and Core took a breath, eventually moving to follow Kari. The two went inside and Core was hit with a wave of grief. He caused a lot of this damage, the rest caused by lack of upkeep. His legs felt weak but he kept going. Kari moved and gently grabbed Core's hand, seeing the teen was having trouble. She was sure to be gentle and trying her best just to be there for her cousin.
"I... I'm so sorry..." Core managed with a cracking voice as he saw the outline of his uncle, Kari's father. "I never... ever... wanted to do this."
Kari nodded. "I know..." She whispered softly, trying to reassure Core. The two approached where Lynx Himura was slain and Core was quick to notice the now dead rose that Kari had put there. "Oh, we should've brought new flowers." Kari muttered.
Core looked at Kari and tilted his head slightly. "Have you... been here before?"
"Yeh, on the anniversary of when they died. It's been a bit so the roses are probably all dead by now." Kari informed as casually as possible to try and play it off as no big deal, but there was a hint of sorrow in her voice.
Core looked down and frowned. "I wish I was stronger that day." He muttered. "Just a bit so I could've held myself back or something."
Kari looked at Core, a hint of pain flashing in her eyes. "I... I know..." She muttered softly again, not knowing what else to say. Eventually Core straightened himself from kneeling down and the two headed towards the hall where Core killed Kitearo. They knelt down once they reached the place Kitearo was slain and Core began to break.
"Kite..." He muttered softly. "I'm so sorry..." He muttered while Kari stood near by. "I never wanted any of this... I... You were one of my best friends... I'm so sorry." Core began to tear up a bit as he remembered how things turned out. "I guess that was why you held back..." He muttered with a bitter sweet grin. "Because we were so close... you didn't wanna hurt me." Core's voice cracked a bit as tears began to fall down his face.
Kari frowned. "You and Kite were friends?" She asked and Core looked at the child and gave a grin.
"Yea... We were only about a year apart so my dad would bring me over every so often and the two of us would play together. After we got our quirks we would train in the courtyard too." He informed and gave a slight chuckle at the fond memories. "We would argue a bit over if my psychokinesis and his earth manipulation were the same thing when we didn't know any better since we could both lift rocks with our minds. But we learned more about our quirks quickly so those didn't last very long." Core laughed a bit and Kari smiled slightly.
"Didn't Maica bring you over at all?" She asked
"No." Core was quick to answer which kind of caught Kari off guard. "Not while Aunt Mikomi was still alive. Mother almost never came around until after then. Sure she stopped by on special occasions like birthdays or holidays with the occasional visit if Aunt Mikomi wasn't around. But aside from that, Mother stayed far away." Core looked back down at where Kitearo's body once lay. "Mother hated Aunt Mikomi with a passion. I never knew why. But then again, I was never given a straight answer when I asked." He sighed then stood up and wiped his eyes a bit.

Hawks stood, slipping his wallet back into his pocket before following behind Kari and Core. He glanced between them, taking note of their nervous but determined expressions. “Alright, team,” he said with a small grin. “Let’s make this visit count. You’ve both got this.”
He ruffled Kari’s hair playfully as they reached the door. “Remember, you’re not doing this alone, okay? We’re in it together.” Then he turned to Core, his tone softening slightly. “And hey, it’s okay to be nervous. Just be yourself—say what you need to say, and let the rest fall into place.”
Holding the door open for them, he gestured outward. “Now, let’s stretch those legs while we can. We’ve got a little bit of a journey ahead, but it’s nothing we can’t handle.” He adjusted his jacket as they stepped out, already mentally mapping the best route to get them to Kari’s old home.

"You got this, big boy."
"Do I?" I grunted, planting my left foot on the garbage container to propel myself. Y/n had made the stunt look so easy, but it was my third attempt and I was still on her yard. "I should've sold you the damn weed."
"You should've." She agreed with a chuckle, bitting her lower lip to stop the teasing.
It would have never crossed my mind that my Friday night activity would be to sneak into the Hendersons' ranch style home through Y/n's awning window, but there I was.
And that wasn't even the weirdest thing.
Two Hours Earlier
"Okay, bad news." Dustin announced from the kitchen, head buried in the fridge while I lounged in his couch, legs sprawled on the cushions.
"No beer?" I guessed, my attention put in some action figures the freshman had sitting around.
He shook his head no with disproportionate grief. "I got... Yoohoo?"
"Fuck yeah, I love Yohoo." I jumped up from the couch and waltzed to the adjacent room where Dustin was pulling out a couple of chocolate drinks. "So—"
"DUSTIN?! IS MY SKETCHBOOK THERE?!"
The younger boy and I froze, our bodies tensing up; the terror in his wide eyes rivaled with mine.
"I thought you said there was no one home?!"
"DUUUSTINN?!"
"She's supposed to be out!" Dustin hissed back at my whisper-yelling through gritted teeth. "I'm so dead."
I rushed back to the living room, basically throwing myself over the coffee table to get my metal lunchbox and my van's keys.
I had been banned from the Hendersons' house by Dustin's lovely mother at the beginning of the school year. It was somewhat understandable; if a scary looking senior had driven my son back home late at night, nearly mowing down my mailbox, I also would have been pissed.
So, had I known there was a remote chance of us not being alone, I would have declined Dustin invitation to hang out at his place after bringing him back after the campaign.
"Gogogogogo!" The kid hastened me, his hands pushing my back, as if I wasn't already half sprinting to the door.
"Y'know, when someone calls your name—" We all came to an abrupt halt at the hall; Dustin, me... and Y/n. "What. The fuck." I took a step back in fear, even though she limited our interaction to giving me a mildly bemused look.
"Why are you home?!" The younger sibling attempted to divert the attention from me, stepping further into the hall that, I supposed, led to his sister's room. "You're supposed to be at Stacy's or something!"
"Why am I home? Why's he home?" She inquired, eyes wide and hand motioning at my form. "You know the rules. Mom's gonna kill you."
"I was just dropping him home." I prevaricated, my hands raised in surrender.
"Oh God, please." She scoffed, folding her arms over her chest. "You've been here for at least an hour, I heard the door."
"Oh c'mon, Y/n!" Dustin groaned. "Can't you be a cool sister for once?" The girl's mouth gaped in vexation, but the curly-haired kid opted for another approach before she could chastise him. "Listen, look at him— look at that face. You think that's the face of someone who should be banished from our house?" Y/n looked over Dustin's shoulder to examine my face, her head tilted to the side, arms folded and lips pursed. "Look at those big brown eyes, Y/n."
Half to help out Dustin and half to make a joke out of it, batted my lashes at her, chin casted low and arms behind my back.
Y/n's brow quirked at me, eyes darting at the metallic lunchbox with a shrewd look that screamed 'I know what that is', which triggered an anxious, almost sheepish giggle on my part.
I shared a few classes with Dustin's sister. We were far from friends, but I had talked to her enough times to know that she not only didn't despise me, but was also a decent person.
She was, however, quite scary too, and having her staring down at me wasn't helping the situation.
"Please, Y/n," Dustin begged. "He was about to leave."
She evaluated us both with squinted eyes, pondering her words, "what do I get out of it?"
Dustin eased at her sister's question, which allowed me to release some anxiety of my own. "What do you want?"
"I need a ride." Despite being her brother the one she was negotiating with, her gaze was fixed on me, her eyes holding ulterior motives.
"A rid—" Dustin scoffed, peeking at me. "A ride? From him?" He pointed his thumb at me over his shoulder.
"No, Dustin, from you." She retorted. "Since you clearly have a license and a car now."
"Ha ha. So funny." Y/n exhaled with the ghost of a confident grin at the younger Henderson's bitter tone. "Eddie's not driving you anywhere."
"Where to?" I jumped in, shocking Dustin but not so much Y/n. A spark of pride did cross her face, though.
"I'll guide you." I gave her a nod in agreement. "Gimme a second."
As Y/n disappeared into what I guessed was her room, Dustin stalked in my direction. "Don't."
"'Don't' what? I'm doing you a favor here, man." I spun the van's keychain in my index finger. "Taking one for the team so you don't get grounded."
"Ha! 'one for the team'. Sure." he narrowed his eyes at me. "I bet you're gonna suffer by giving Y/n a lift."
I gave my head a nonchalant shake, a mischievous half smile tugging on the corner of my lips. "I dunno what's that supposed to mean."
Dustin's menacing index finger raised to my face. "She's off limits."
Before I could wisecrack anything, Y/n was out of her room, jacket on, strolling to the front door. "Don't cry, Dustybun, he can come back any other day, these lips" she pointed at her mouth, rotating to stare at her baffled brother. "are sealed. C'mon!" Y/n gave my hand a tug and, soon enough, we were out of the house and in the van.
It took Y/n five minutes in the road to tense up. At first, she didn't comment on it, choosing to focus on the music playing. Then, I hit a curb.
"Do you even have a license?" She inquired after clearing her throat. "Turn left here."
"Are you implying I can't drive?" I obeyed, turning my face to her with a frown.
"I don't need to imply it." She retorted, knuckles white from gripping the grab handle too tight. "Show me your license."
"Can't you take my word for it?" Though her eyes were shut, I knew very well she could hear the amused smile twisting up my lips.
"No."
"Alright." With a dramatic sigh, I let go of the wheel with one hand, leaning to the passenger seat's side to reach for my license; I wouldn't confirm nor deny, that I momentarily forgot I was the one driving.
Y/n's yelp, along with the van briefly sinking into some kind of pothole, brought me back to reality.
"Woah! Okay my bad." I sat back upright with a nervous chuckle, eyes darting at a livid Y/n. "You're such a scaredy-cat."
"Erase that grin from your face, Munson!" She demanded, making me gnaw on my lower lip in order to comply. "You're gonna get me killed!"
"You literally asked for this." I quipped with a laugh, slowing down the van for the sake of Y/n's heart. "Straight ahead or to the right?" I consulted her, seeing the crossroads ahead of us.
"Your choice." Exhaling as if she had just ran a marathon, she eased up in the passenger seat. "I just wanted a ride."
"What?" I did a double take on the girl, processing her words. "I'm just aimlessly driving you around?"
"Yup." She responded, popping the 'p'.
"Couldn't you, I dunno, go for a walk?"
"At night? in Hawkins?" She raised her brows at me with a snort. "Hell no. Plus," She spared me a glance. "if I can get myself a night ride, I will."
"You're so damn weird."
"You're one to talk." She laughed, making me smile in the process. "I wouldn't have snitched, by the way." Y/n confessed. "I just wanted to give Dustin a hard time."
"Oh so you're actually 'a cool sister'." I teased, recalling her younger sibling's words.
"Not as cool as you or Harrington, but I try."
"I'm cool?" I scoffed in surprised, my attention as fixed on the road as it would ever be.
"Dustin says so." My head spun to her once more; her elbow supported by the window, temple resting on her palm. "I kinda agree— Eddie!" Her hand shot to reach for the steering wheel, giving it a swift turn. "Eyes on the road!"
"Y/n, calm down." I urged her with a laugh, correcting the van's direction whilst mentally scolding myself for scaring the girl. "I've never had an accident, and first one isn't gonna be with you here, 'kay?"
She muttered something I couldn't quite catch under her breath, giving her head a slight shake. This was followed by a short silence I was about to break, but Y/n was faster.
"Since when have you been selling?" She inquired with apparent innocence, quickly following her question with, "If it's not too personal— I don't wanna overstep any boundaries."
"No, it's fine." I side eyed her, my attention still on the road, even when my whole body begged me to turn to look at her. "Three years now. Why?"
"Just curious." Oh, that was a lie. She pondered for a second before asking yet another question. "Do you just sell it, or do you...?"
"Both." Silence. And another question.
"How is it?" I responded with a confused 'huh', to which she clarified, "Smoking weed. How is it? Like," her position shifted in a way that her whole upper body was now turned to me. "is it fun?"
"I mean, kinda" I shrugged, noticing how her voice carried that ulterior motive once more. "It's more, like, relaxing y'know?"
A shared, expecting look was what it took for her to spill the beans.
"What are your prices?" Shocked to my core, I pumped the breaks almost instinctively, making her form dangerously jolt forward. "Jesus Christ, Eddie!" Her right hand clutched the collar of her sweater in terror. "Wanna kill me?!"
I disregarded her last two sentences, still stuck on her previous question. "You wanna buy weed?" My tone was high pitched due to the disbelief, and when she nodded, an anxious laugh escaped me. "Absolutely not."
"Excuse me?"
I snorted, eyes open wide at her confusion, as if the reason for my panic wasn't obvious. "Dustin will have my head on a fucking platter."
"I'm the big sister here." She countered in a stern tone, leaning back against her window.
I groaned, throwing my head over the steering wheel at her expectant, defiant glance; she was right and she knew it. But I was, too. Her younger brother would murder me with his bare hands if something happened to Y/n because of me.
"You don't know how to do it." I stated, hoping to find a starting point to convince her not to make a drug deal with me.
"Teach me, then." I lifted my head again, even more taken aback than before. "Walk me through it." She suggested with a careless shrug.
"Are you asking me," I took my pointer finger to my chest. "the scary freak who's not allowed in your house" my brows raised so far up that they would surely meet my hairline. "to walk you through getting high?"
"It's not like you're dangerous." She pointed out, unbuckling her belt to sit sideways and be able to stare at me.
This girl kept leaving me speechless —which was not unusual, it just hadn't happened whilst talking one-on-one. "How do you even know that."
"We share classes, dude, you're a goofball." She snorted, titling her head to the side. "So, how much is it?"
"I'm not selling you anything."
"Eddie!"
"I... Mmm— okay, you just wanna try?" her head shook affirmatively. "We can... smoke together." her eyes lit up in a way that screamed trouble, which terrified me and excited in equal parts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Fucking—"
"Shh!" She hushed me from the inside, tiptoes on her mattress and hands on the windowsill.
"Stop sushing me and give me a hand!" I urged her, my upper body into the room and my bottom out in the open.
We were not supposed to be there. The initial idea —crafted by me—, had been to drive her back home, share a joint in the back of my van, and then go back to the trailer park.
Y/n had voiced her concern about this; she believed I would most likely crash if I attempted to drive stoned, and insisted on sneaking me into her room for the night.
Not having the heart to tell her that it wouldn't be the first time I drove stoned, and finding very appealing the chance of spending alone time with Y/n Henderson, I caved in rather quickly. Plus, it was Friday, what could be the harm? I would just leave in the early morning and no one would ever know I was there.
"You're gonna have to roll." Her hands took mine, tugging them down to the bed while she simultaneously climbed off it. Her palm pushed my back for me to be upsidedown while gravity forced my body to slide in.
"I-fucking-hate-this-I-fucking-hate-shit-FUCK!" With a yelp and a thump too loud for anyone's liking, the struggle was over. "Okay. That wasn't so bad." I announced with a thrilled grin, pushing myself off Y/n's blankets to sit up properly on the edge of the bed.
"Uhm," she jogged to put the door on the latch. "How do we do this?"
"We should do it near the window," I tilted my head up. "for obvious reasons. Get comfortable."
"Sure," she kicked of her shoes and prompted me to do the same. Our jackets and my vest ended up poorly discarded at the foot of the bed by the time that Y/n and I found ourselves sitting against her wall, her legs crossed and one of mine pulled to my chest while the other laid sprawled on the soft surface. "So— uhhh..."
I spared her a side glance, my expertise hands pulling out of the lunchbox an already loaded joint. "You nervous?"
"No?" I felt her curious eyes on me as I twisted the end of the rolling paper. "Kinda. In a good way."
"In a good way?" I questioned with a mildly confused half smile, placing the joint between my lips in order to light it.
"Yeah, you know, like" her words paused as she focused on analyzing how I took a drag out of it. "Excited."
I breathed out the smoke, giving her an understanding nod. "I think I get it."
And I did get it; that was exactly how the last two hours with her had felt for me.
"Your turn" I took the reefer between my index and my thumb and handed it over to the girl besides me. "Take a short puff but—" Too late for warnings; by the time I was about to finish the sentence, she was already coughing her lungs out, which made me snort in mirth. "Take it easy."
"You could've" she tried to hold back the coughs as she handed me back the joint. "said that earlier."
"You didn't let me!" I defended myself, taking the rolled up weed from her grasp, eyes never leaving her form, shaky, first from the coughing, then from quieted laughter. "The key is to start slow." I breathed in the weed, holding it for a second before releasing the smoke. "And, since is your first time, just take a couple of puffs— Shit," I cursed, seeing the ashes in my jeans. "You got an ashtray by any chance?"
"Nope but—" She threw her torso over my lap, stretching out her arm to reach for a small bowl on her desk. "We can use this."
All from sudden the ceiling was very interesting to me, my body tensing up under hers. "I could've gotten it for you."
Y/n was quick to retract to her original position, placing the bowl between us. "Did I make you uncomfortable?"
"Pffft— No?" I half lied, taking a long drag while my eyes roamed the room, because, yes, the ceiling was very interesting, but having her figure pressed against mine was just...
"You sure?"
"Mhmm." I blinked myself back into reality, stopping my mind from wandering too far. You're here for a reason, I told myself. "Okay, try again, but this time," I placed the weed back on her lips. "Take it slow. Short puff. Aaaand hold it for a sec." She did as I instructed her, her fingertips brushing mines while we switched the hold of the joint, sending shocks all the way from my digits to my spine.
Maybe getting stoned with her in such a private, intimate place had not been the best idea ever.
She released the smoke with closed eyes and no coughing this time. "Like that?"
"Yeah." She passed it too me with her eyelids still shut, and I wondered if the weed was already taking effect for her. "You alright?"
"Uh-huh." She rested her head on the wall.
A few minutes passed before Y/n spoke again, sounding as confused as ever.
"Why is it... not kicking in?"
"I—" I gave her a puzzled look, examining her features before stating, "I think it... May be kicking in, Y/n."
"Uhhhh nnno?" She dragged the 'n', accompanying the rhetorical question with a snort.
"You sure about that, sweetheart?" I teased, offering her to take another puff, not without reminding her to by prudent with the intake.
"Pooositive." Oh, it definitely was kicking in. She noticed that too, her eyes opening wide at the realization, perplexed gaze turning to me. "Woah."
I tried to keep myself grounded, despite starting to feel the effects too, since I was supposed to be aiding her. "You feelin'... okay?"
She gave me a slow nod. "My body feels funny." She frowned at her own words before letting out a soft titter.
"This is gonna be hilarious." I declared sliding down the wall to a pretty bad yet awfully comfortable position on Y/n's bed. "Take it veeery slow now, though." I advised, looking up at the girl, whose posture had changed too.
She bobbed her head, smoking once more before handing me down the reefer, her eyes squinted at me for a hot second.
"Eddie?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I play with your hair?" A silly smile twisted up the corners of my lips before I could mask it, which triggered a giggle from the girl above me while I moved to lay my head on her thighs. "Ughhhh it's so soft." She dramatically groaned, burying her fingers on my scalp and consequently making my eyes roll into my head. I could barely hold myself from moaning. "Oh wow."
Realizing I had, in fact, not held it back at all, I clapped my hand over my mouth, feeling the heat creep up my neck.
"That was... a reaction." She teased, carding my locks with an amused smile, fingers slow and clumsy due to the weed. "You good?"
"Mhmmm." I shut my eyes, trying to keep it cool.
"You sure?"
"Yea—hhh" in panic, I instinctively grabbed her wrist when her hands dove deeper into my mane, scratching my scalp. I didn't know what was more mortifying; Y/n getting those reactions out of me, or the fact that she snickered. "I'm—"
"It's okaaay." She gave my head a pat, leaning back on the wall before taking her last drag for the night.
Time seemed to stretch and contort, at some point, Y/n had decided to blast an Abba cassette as a background noise to muffle our giggles and disconnected conversations.
Our position had pretty much stayed the same, and now Y/n's fingertips being tangled up in my locks felt like white noise to my body; a very, very pleasant one.
"I like this. Mmmm yeah, I like this." She affirmed to herself in a satisfied manner before letting her eyes look down to me. "Tell me your prices, baby."
"I'm not selling you aaanything." I repeated my words from earlier, waving my hands before my face as an emphasis.
"What if" she folded to face me. "I stroke your hair hmm? What 'bout that?"
I struggled to peel my eyes off her inviting lips. "You, Y/n Henderson," I took her face on my hand to shove it lightly. "Are a minx."
She only laughed, going back down, this time closer. I would only have to prop myself up a few inches and—
"Nope." This time, it was my face the one covered by my hands. "You're—"
"Off limits?"
"High." I corrected, peeking through my fingers at her once her words reached my mind. "Off limits?"
"I heard Dustin." She sat upright with a scornful laugh, fingers leaving my hair. "My fourteen year old brother has you on a chokehold."
"Excuuuuse me, m'lady," I jumped on the bed knocking the ashtray down on my way to invade her personal space. "Who said I'm listening to your literal tadpole of a brother about who is and who isn't off limits?"
I only managed to appreciate the look on her face once we were inches away. That proud, satisfied, borderline cocky look she sported when she got what she wanted.
"You. Are. Goading me!" I announced in shock, seeing the slyness twist her features— goddamnit why was that so attractive?
"Is it working?" She whispered the question with a lewd smirk.
It was. It really was, but it wasn't right. "I... Have principles. And you" I pulled away, leaning back. "are horny 'cause you're high."
"I. Am. Not." She declared, accompanying each of her words with a thump on the mattress.
"Horny or high?"
"Screw you."
"You should thank me." I traveled further away from her until my back hit the side of her desk. "I'm saving you the embarrassment of making out with me."
Whatever playfulness we had going on dropped. She seemed almost offended by my words. "Eddie, for fuck's sake." She tugged my wrists, making me scurry back to her before cupping my face with her palms. "That's ssso fucking dumb. Are you dumb?"
"Am I dumb?" I queried, words mushed due to my cheeks being squeezed together. I am for not kissing you, I thought to myself, dilated pupils falling on her lips.
"Yup." She confirmed, letting me know I was thinking out loud for the nth time that night. "Can I... uhh... ask you somethin'?" I gave her an affirmative hum, sighing at the loss of contact when her hands dropped from my cheeks into the bed. "Do you... Nevermind."
"What? No!" I shoved her shoulder before she lied on her back, hands over her head. "C'mon! what is it?" She shook her head 'no', jumping when I poked her side. "C'monnnn!" Another poke, another jump. "Y/n!" Another one.
"Eddieee!" She squealed, trying to push me away in vain due to the giggles.
"Tellmetellmetellme!" I mashed the words together as I climbed on top of her, tickling her until she was a mess of laughter.
"Eddie stop!" She managed to sputter out, setting for tugging my flush against her body before wrapping her arms around me, which turned out to be just the right way to get me to cease my attack, because her embrace was warm and gentle and loving— so loving that I found myself forgetting about whatever question she was going to ask, melting into her hold instead.
If someone were to ask, I wouldn't be able to respond how long we stayed like that; what I could pinpoint, however, was the exact moment that sobered me up.
The violent knock on the door.
Still coming down from the peak of her high state, Y/n didn't quite register what she was doing when she pushed me off and rushed to the room's entrance, unlatching the lock.
"Y/n wait—"
"Hey there Dustybun." She attempted to hold back a snort at the sight of her horrified younger brother, of which I was able to catch a glimpse once I got up from the bed. "Did I wake you?"
"What—" once he spotted, his eyes went so wide that it looked like they would pop out of his skull. "What are you doing here?! Why was she yelling your name?! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"
"It's not what it looks like, man, I swear." I whispered, getting closer to the door.
Dustin shoved us out of the way and his gaze traveled from the messy bed, to our discarded layers of clothing, and to our toulsed hair and disheveled appearance. "Oh, I bet." He hissed. "Get out." He demanded from me, pointing his index finger at the front door's direction.
"He can't," Y/n moved to stand between us and whispered, "he's high."
Dustin, whose brain was going surprisingly slow considering how smart he was, managed to put two and two together. "Y/n, please tell me you are not high."
"He can't go home, he's hiiigh. He gotta sleep here." Y/N whined, blatantly ignoring her brother's inquiry, which was an answer on its own.
"I swear." He pinched his nose, shaking his head in disappointment. "Okay, Eddie you come to my room. And you" he pointed at Y/n. "be thankful I don't feel like waking up mom."
"You're an angel." She sighed in contempt, planting a loud smooch on Dustin's forehead, which made him shove her away with a disgusted face.
"Do I get a kiss too?" I blurted out without giving my words a second thought. "I'm sorry I—"
"Excuse you?" The curly haired boy seemed so outraged that I wouldn't have been shocked if he had punched me in the spot. "I swear on my mother's life— Y/n!"
Dustin was shocked. I was shocked.
Y/n clearly wasn't, since she had been the one to take a surprisingly firm hold of my face in order to plant a kiss on my mouth.
Her lips felt so divine that I would have sworn I had died and ascended to heaven, and the weed was not helping that feeling, only alienating me further from reality.
It was short lasting, and left me wishing for her to kiss me silly.
It was Dustin's yank on my arm the thing that snapped me out of my trance. "No more sucking face, okay?!" He scolded us both, wrenching my form in the hall's direction. "Go to sleep, Y/n. Now." He ordered as we left the room.
She gifted me an apologetic smile before mouthing a 'night, Eddie', leaning on the door frame. Our eyes stayed locked until Dustin shoved me into his own room, not so far from Y/n's.
"What is WRONG WITH YOU?!" he seethed, shutting the door behind him. "My sister?! Really, Eddie?! And she's HIGH!"
"I'm sorry, man—" I tried in vain to apologize, Taking a seat in the freshman's armchair while he paced.
"No! Shut up!" He pointed a menacing finger at me. "I explicitly told you she's OFF. LIMITS. Do I have to spell it..."
My attention, sooner rather than later, drifted from Dustin's tantrum to a way more compelling topic; whatever had happened in the last hours.
It was just starting to dawn on me how surreal the situation had really been. Y/n and I had gone in one night from exchanging a couple of words in class to... To that.
And what the fuck was that exactly? Was it a one time experience? Would we go back to have simple interactions, such as greeting each other in high school halls and commenting Mrs. Click's class while she waited for Dustin at the cafeteria? Because I didn't know how awkward would that be.
I felt like I knew Y/n in a way I would have never expected to know her, and that had transformed my dumb high school crush into stupid fucking butterflies in my stomach at the thought of her.
"...Are you listening to me?!"
"Y-yeah." I shamelessly lied, fidgeting with my rings. Just like Y/n had been animatedly doing for a little while, earlier.
Why had she kissed me?
Fuck, I had way more questions than answers. I couldn't help but wonder whether she had done it because she was high or... Maybe because she... Liked me?
No way.
I buried my face in my palms, completely unaware of what Dustin might have been saying. I doubted I would obtain any answers to questions I would never have the guts to ask, so the best thing to do was to focus on the positive side of it all.
Y/n had turned a boring, borderline depressing Friday night into what would most likely be the best night of the year.
I couldn't hold back the smile that thought put on my face.
sungchan - late night
word count : 761
-
you walked into your shared apartment and locked the door behind you. you sighed while taking your shoes off, continuing to regret going out.
"you were right," you spoke, knowing that your boyfriend was in the living room waiting for you.
"to which thing i said? it was boring as hell? or no one willing to take photos of you so you could post on instagram?" sungchan replied. you walked into the living room and saw him playing video games on the tv.
"both," you replied. sungchan glanced over at you before looking back at the screen. seconds later, he whipped his head back towards you and stared at you.
"there is no way in hell that my hella gorgeous girlfriend did not have fun or get hella good photos taken of her when she looks like a goddess. baby, you look so pretty!" he yelled. as his character died on the screen, you just sat down next to him on the couch.
"why do i even bother going out anymore?" you frowned and leaned your head against his shoulder.
"oh hell no, put your shoes back on. we're going out," sungchan stood up, turning off the tv. "come on," he said and tried to pull you up.
"i just wanna stay here," you whined to him.
"you can read manhwas and write fan fiction later. let's go," he said and pulled you off of the couch.
"sungchan," you whined.
"shut up. i don't care if it's two in the morning," he says. "my girlfriend didn't have the opportunity to say "i have a boyfriend" to any guy in the club. we're gonna post a picture of you and make everything see the beauty that you are," he said and dragged you to the front door. he bent down and helped you put your shoes back on before slipping on a pair of sneakers. "okay, let's go, gorgeous,” he said, throwing a jacket on over his hoodie.
"where are we going?" you asked him.
"i don't know but we'll find a place to take pictures of you," he said and unlocked the front door. he opened it and both of you walked out. "do you have your key?" he asked while closing the door. you handed your keys to him and he locked the door.
"you should've came out with me," you said to him.
"you know i would've if i hadn't came home late. but um...shotaro and i got into a heated mario kart race, so we had to practice for an extra hour," he said and held your hand. you two started walking down the hall.
"i want to cuddle," you pouted and you two walked downstairs to the first floor.
"we can cuddle, you can read manhwas, we can watch anime. we can do everything, but once i take photos of you," sungchan said and both of you walked out of your apartment building. "okay, this way."
you two walked down the street and made it to the park.
"give me your phone," he demanded and you did so. he stepped away from you, "okay, do something cute," he said, holding up your phone.
you started posing and sungchan took pictures of you. you changed up some of the poses.
"look at my girlfriend looking all cute and gorgeous," sungchan complimented you while taking more photos of you. "she's such a cutie, and i love her so much," he said and you laughed.
"i love you more," you spoke. "can we take a photo together?" you asked.
"if you don't mind me not looking at good as you do," he said since he was wearing sweats and a hoodie.
"i don't mind at all," you replied.
sungchan looked around, "let's go over there," he said and you two walked into the grass. he set your phone against a tree and fixed the settings so you could take some timer photos. you fixed your hair while sungchan pressed the button. he stood next to you and both of you posed.
sungchan pressed the button again and suddenly picked you up.
"hey!" you laughed while sungchan kissed you.
"hey," he looked at you, "even though no one said anything to you about being gorgeous, just know that you'll always be the most prettiest girl to me," he said to you and kissed you again. "i'm one lucky dude to be with you," he grinned.
"i'm lucky to be with someone who is so sweet to me," you said and pecked his lips. "i love you, sungchan."
"love you, babe."
Jimmy Conway x Paulie's Daughter! Reader
Hiiiii, this fic is a little surprise I've been working on and I've got a few others in the works. I hope you guys love it! ❤️
TW: smut, mentions of crime and crime families, murder, marriage, mentions of pregnancy
Word Count: 5.2k
Tumblr media
As you stand in front of the mirror, your head spins from the morning you've already had. Women everywhere, whizzing around you doing your hair and makeup, getting you into your wedding dress. All that to make you a bride.
And you do look like a bride, you think as you stare into the mirror.
Behind you, you hear a familiar voice, "Ahem, ladies, could I get a moment alone with our bride?" Jimmy. He's being extra charming today, as many of the women left the room giggling because he spoke to them.
"Wow... (Y/N), you look gorgeous..." he creeps up behind you and delicately places his hands on your sides, as if he might break you. He looks at you in the mirror, before gently placing a kiss on your shoulder. "You're gonna stop traffic when you walk down the aisle. I can't wait to see it," he moves your veil and hair to give you a kiss on the cheek.
You don't say anything, just stare into the mirror. After a small pause, Jimmy turns you around, "Hey, you alright?"
Finally, you get a good look at him in his tux: all black with an off white shirt and a deep green vest peaking out from the lapels of his tuxedo jacket. You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding, "Yeah, I'm okay, just nervous," you put your hand on his chest, looking him over again, "I'm glad you're here. You always calm me down, and you look great by the way."
You knew it was an unconventional choice, but you wouldn't have picked anyone else to be your Maid of Honor. And Jimmy was happy to do it for you, even with Tommy and Henry making fun of him for it, at least until they got asked to be bridesmaids.
These were guys that in another life, you never would've been friends with, probably wouldn't have even known. And truthfully, your dad didn't want you being friends with them, because he knows what they are: criminals, nothing but criminals. But they're the only family you have, and Paulie had to admit that it was so cute seeing you get into trouble with Henry and Tommy and then go to "Uncle" Jimmy to get you out of it.
Jimmy wouldn't have done that kind of thing for the guys; they needed to get pinched and learn what it was like, but he would do anything to keep your pretty face out of jail. Since you've grown older, old enough for your father to let you get married, you and Jimmy have grown to be best friends. He's not so much the Uncle he used to be to you.
"(Y/N)?" Jimmy starts, "we got something to tell you, honey."
Just from the man's tone of voice, you can tell something is terribly wrong; you just know him too well. At that point, Jimmy opens the door, and Tommy, Henry, and your dad Paulie shuffle in.
"What's going on?" you say sheepishly, taking a step back from the men before you.
"You may wanna sit down," Jimmy motions to the little couch in the room.
Your dad reaches for one of your hands and you pull it away, "What is it, papa?"
"Sweetie, let's sit down, so we can talk," he places a hand on your back, and you both sit on the couch together. Jimmy, Tommy, and Henry all stand around looking like tough guys: arms crossed, keeping an ear out for anyone who might be listening outside the door, their faces looking stone cold with a bit of worry in their eyes.
"(Y/N), that guy out there," Paulie starts, referring to the groom waiting to marry you, "he ain't the guy you think he is."
"What?" you ask quietly.
"Well, uh, the guys here-" he looks up at the three men standing around you, "Jimmy, uh..." He just couldn't say it to you.
"We've been keeping an eye on this guy, scoping him out," Jimmy finishes for Paulie.
"What? You were spying on my fiancé?" you ask, feeling hurt.
"You didn't think we was just gonna let you marry anyone, did ya?" Tommy pipes up.
"And I'm glad we did," Jimmy cuts back in, "that guy out there, (Y/N), he's a liaison for another crime family! They were using you for information, and now he's able to identify all of us."
"What? No... He's- he's... a union rep," you cast your eyes down as it dawns on you; it was all a lie and a great cover up so he could talk about his friends and you wouldn't even realize. God, did you feel stupid. If anyone was gonna catch him in that lie, it should've been you. "I'm so sorry..." you whisper as tears drop down onto your wedding dress.
Paulie immediately pulls you into a hug, "Hey, hey, it's okay, baby girl. It's okay. The guys here have a plan." He tries to comfort you as you cry into his shoulder.
"I'm so sorry, you know I'd never try to put any of you in danger. I'm sorry I was so stupid!!" You feel horrible and angry with yourself.
"Shhh... You gotta keep your voice down, honey," you feel Jimmy's hand rubbing circles into your back as he kneals next to you. "You're not stupid. It took us a long time to crack this guy. He covered his tracks well."
You turn to Jimmy, tears mixed with mascara running down your face. "Hey..." he says, pulling out a handkerchief and wiping the tears from your face, "Don't cry, angel. You shouldn't cry on your wedding day."
"But-" you get close to him, "it's not my wedding day anymore."
"Still," he pulls you up off the couch and into a hug, "you look too pretty to cry, and besides, we gotta get going."
You give him a confused look, trying to get it together, "Get going? Where are we going?"
"Well, uh, you and I are going on your honeymoon; Tommy and Henry know the rest of the plan."
"Honeymoon? We're not gonna cancel it?" you question.
"Listen, sugar," your dad grabs your attention, "this is the one day we can get your fiancé alone. He didn't dare bring any of his associates; we would recognize them, especially after all the recon we've done. So Jimmy's gonna sneak you out of here, and you're gonna go away for a while, and we're gonna get rid of this crook and tie up all the loose ends."
Just a few moments later, Tommy and Henry go back into the church to make it seem like everything is normal. No one is gonna think anything of Jimmy and your dad being with you, because that's the order the ceremony will go in. Your dad waits out in the hallway, as if he's waiting for you to put the last few finishing touches on your dress, and as everyone clears the hall to go to the church, he signals to Jimmy that it's time.
You and Jimmy quietly sneak out of your dressing room to head to the car. Before you run off, you turn back to your dad, giving him a big hug, "Please be careful, papa. I love you so much, and I'll miss you."
"I love you, too, (Y/N)," he gives you a kiss on the forehead, before you turn to head out the back hallway of the reception hall.
On the way out, Jimmy grabs a huge plate of hors d'oeuvres and holds the door open for you. You make your way out to this random convertible (probably stolen), seeing your suitcase in the backseat.
"Mines in the trunk," he lets you know, before setting the plate of food in the back and helping you in the car. Seconds later, you're peeling out of the church parking lot.
• • •
You and Jimmy can't help but laugh as you get further and further away from your wedding ceremony. You can't explain why you're laughing so hysterically, but it feels like old times getting into trouble with Jimmy. Plus, it's a welcome distraction.
"Jimmy," you interject the laughter.
"Yeah?" he asks, coming down from his laughing fit. You've already reached the highway heading from upstate New York into the city to get to the airport.
"Jimmy, I gotta get out of this dress," there's a serious tone in your voice that tells Jimmy this is more urgent than you let on.
He quickly whips out his switch blade, "Okay, lean forward." And then you feel the cool metal of the blade grace your back as he cuts the ribbons corseting your dress.
The dress loosens around you, and you look over at the man, "Thank you," is all you say before sliding the dress down over your hips, then throwing it up in the air, letting the wind take it down the highway. Jimmy has an impressed look on his face as he glances at you with a half smile on his face.
He reaches over, placing a hand on your bare thigh, pulling your wedding garter down your leg before holding it above his head and spinning it around like a lasso. "WOOOOOO!!!!" he yells at the top of his lungs as he flings the little piece of lace. Anything to make you laugh, and it does get a rise out of you.
There's a pause for a moment as Jimmy takes in the view of you in your white lingerie; his eyes don't linger for long though, because he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable.
Though, you can't help but feel sexy for moment before climbing into the backseat to change.
"Hey, bring that food up to the front seat when you're done," he says, looking at you in the rearview mirror. You smack his shoulder, realizing he can see you changing. He chuckles and flips the rearview up. You spend the rest of the trip leaning on Jimmy and snacking on the hors d'oeuvres on the tray, until you arrive at the airport.
Because you skipped the wedding ceremony and reception, you arrive way earlier than you're supposed to, but it's no issue, Jimmy already worked it out by moving your flight up. It also works out better, because there will be goons at the airport looking for you, but by the time they get there, you and Jimmy will already be gone.
• • •
After a few hours when you arrive in the Bahamas, Jimmy gently runs his fingers through your hair to wake you up from your nap. You were conked out on his shoulder, exhausted from this morning. "C'mon, sleepyhead, let's go have a honeymoon," he helps get you up and grab your bags.
"Mmmm," you yawn following him, "you say that like it's your honeymoon or something."
"Well, it is now," he chuckles, grabbing your hand to lead you off the plane. After a warm welcome from some locals at the check in desk, you head over to your private villa, right on the beach. Even though it's already dark, the island is beautiful. The warm breeze makes the palm trees wave; the sand is soft under your feet; and the sound of waves crashing is seriously so relaxing.
Inside your villa, it looks so cozy and clean, and you're so ready to get some dinner and go to bed. That's just what you do. Jimmy calls the office to order dinner to your little beach house, and you pop into the bathroom to take a shower and change.
By the time you're done, dinner is too. Jimmy greets you with a little side hug and pulls your chair out for you to sit down at the table. "Comfy? In your little robe and all?" he asks, eyeing you up and down quickly.
"Mm-hmmm," you moan, stuffing your face with delicious food. Jimmy chuckles at you before doing the same.
After getting your bellies full on tasty seafood, you decide that it would be a good idea to go to sleep, that way you can make the most of your time on this lovely island.
As you and Jimmy make your way to the bedroom, you're met with a reminder of why you're there in the first place: rose petals and candles littering the room.
Jimmy sees the way you pause, "Do you want me to get rid of this stuff?"
"I- uh, no... It's okay," you look back and forth between him and your bed.
"Here," he says, leading you to the couch, "Stay here."
He goes into the bedroom and closes the door behind him. For a few moments you hear huffing and thudding as he blows out candles and throws them in the trash, and you hear his arms hitting the bed as he wipes the rose petals away. Jimmy exits the room with a trash bag in tow, tossing it out on the front patio before returning to the living room, breathing a little heavy, and holding his arm out, motioning you to the bedroom.
You stand up and put your arms around him, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek, "Thank you, Jimmy."
He places his arm around your waist and presses a cheek to your head, "You're welcome, sweetie. Now go to bed."
"You're not coming?" you ask.
"I'll sleep on the couch. You have a good night, and sweet dreams," he gives your arm a squeeze before heading to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
As you settle into bed and try to sleep, it sinks in. Your relationship that you'd been so happy in is over... And here you are in another country for an undetermined amount of time while your ex-fiancé gets "taken care of." Even though his intention was to hurt you, you can't help but mourn what feels like the loss of your happiness. In fact, there's only one place you can feel happy right now, and you won't sleep until you're there.
"Jimmy?" you whisper through your sniffles. You stand before him as he sleeps soundly on the couch. "Jimmy?" A little louder this time, and that does the trick.
The man takes in a sharp inhale through his nose and his eyes pop open, "(Y/N), hey," he rubs his eyes, "you okay?" You just stand there quietly sniffling, and then Jimmy sees the redness in your face, "Hey, hey, c'mere honey, c'mere." He holds the blanket up for you to climb in, and he immediately wraps his arms around you, cuddling you in his cozy little spot on the couch. You simply bury your head into his chest, and let out a few tears. "Shhhh, shhh," he says as if cooing a baby, "it's okay, I'm here, everything's gonna be alright."
• • •
The sun brightly lights the whole open floor plan of your beach side escape, warming you and Jimmy in your bundle of blankets. You awake to the feeling of his fingers lazily combing through your hair, and when you crack your eyes open, you see him happily smiling down at you. You place a hand on his chest, and he covers it with one of his own, giving your fingers a squeeze.
"Morning, you hungry?" he greets you.
"Mmmm... Good morning, sweet man," you happily nuzzle into him.
He cups a hand on the back of your head, "Whaddaya say we get some breakfast, then ya wanna go swimming later today? Hm? We got that beautiful beach right out there." His head motions towards the large glass doors that look out onto the sand and sea.
"Only if we can stay here a little longer," you hum into his chest, perfectly content with just cuddling up to him all day long.
"Okay, princess, we can stay a little longer."
• • •
After a relaxed morning (yes, you both dozed back off to sleep for a while) and a nice breakfast of fresh fruits, juice, and pastries, you wait on the back patio for Jimmy to change into his swimsuit. When the sliding glass door glides open, you turn and see the man in swim trunks that hit about mid-thigh, short sleeve button up shirt that's unbuttoned, a gold chain, and a cigarette. Of course Jimmy dresses like that for the beach.
"Whaddaya think? How do I look?" he jokes at you.
You walk over and places your hands on his bare chest. "The view looks pretty good from here," you chuckle lowly.
Jimmy grunts, "You better watch those hands of yours," he warns, moving you off his chest before lightly taking your fingers in his. "Alright, let's go," he says, leading you towards the waves.
"Ya know, uh," Jimmy catches your attention.
"Hmm?" you chirp, hand still happily in his.
"How come you're still wearing this?" he asks, holding your hand up, and tapping his thumb on your engagement ring.
"Oh... um... I'm not sure, honestly," you look down at your hands, wringing them together and fidgeting with the little piece of jewelry. As you take your first few steps into the ocean, you slip the ring from your finger. "I guess it doesn't mean anything anymore," you ponder to yourself before chucking it into the water.
Jimmy raises his eyebrows in surprise, "You didn't wanna sell it?"
You turn around and pat him on the chest, "I know you and the boys back home will make me more money than that ring is worth. It wouldn't surprise me if it was fake, knowing what I know now."
• • •
Time got away from you as the two of you enjoyed your day in the sun. After walking along the beach and Jimmy dunking you in the waves a few times (don't worry, you got him back), it's already early afternoon. And boy, were you beat.
"Hmmm, I think it's time for a nap!" you yawn, "This sun has got me drained."
"Wanna go inside?" Jimmy points to your little beach house.
"Yeah, but I don't think I can walk another step," you whine playfully, giving the man puppy eyes.
There's a long pause as Jimmy gives you a serious look, but he's only kidding. "You want me to carry you, don't you?"
"Yes, please!"
And with that, your feet are swept out from under you. Jimmy walks you across the sand and through the sliding glass door, right to the bathroom.
"What are we doing in here?" you question as he walks right into the shower, "Jimmy?!"
"Gotta rinse all the salt and sand off," is all he gets out before the shower faucet sprays cold water on you and the man holding you. You squeal loudly and practically jump from Jimmy's arms! You hold onto him tightly for warmth; luckily the water heats up quickly though.
"You bastard!!" you yell and give the man a swift pop on the chest.
"OW!" he giggles and rubs the spot that is quickly turning red.
Your face forms a pout, feeling bad for smacking him, "I'm sorry." You take a step forward and rub your hand on his chest to sooth the spot. When you place your other hand on his chest, you look up at him. Suddenly you feel his strong hands gripping the back of your head, and his lips meet yours. Your back comes into contact with the shower wall, and you're completely surrounded. You feel the muscles of Jimmy's arms squeezing around you as his tongue urges it's way into your mouth.
You could hardly explain it: the timing and the situation feel so wrong, but he feels so 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, like everything you had ever wanted- no, 𝘯𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥.
Water soaks your hair, your face, your bodies as Jimmy fiercely kisses you. He's almost scared to stop.
But when you gently suck his bottom lip into your mouth and give it a nibble, it's game over.
Your friend-turned-lover rips open the shower curtain and starts walking you to the bedroom, his lips and his body never leaving yours. His tropical shirt slaps the ground in a wet heap, quickly followed by his swim trunks.
His lips find your neck, and you finally get a moment to catch your breath. Pressed against him as you step backwards, you feel his hands frantically working the straps of your swimsuit. You pull back from him just enough to see his face, and he freezes like a deer in headlights.
You simply look each other over, taking in the features of the other's face for a moment, before you lean forward and place your lips to his chastely, kissing him just once or twice. His rough hands gently caress your back, and then things turn passionate again when he slowly removes your top.
You always thought you'd be nervous to be with Jimmy, but after all, this is a man that you trust with your life. Wait- always? Did this imply you'd thought about being with him before?
In the heat of the moment you couldn't make sense of it. All you know right now is that Jimmy already has you naked and on the bed. It feels like your emotions are in a whirlwind, but Jimmy makes you feel good and you want more.
Your hands rake through his still wet hair, as he showers your chest in affection by kissing and sucking at your collarbone and breasts. He travels further down your body with his ministrations, until he reaches your soft inner thighs. You can feel his five o'clock shadow scratching at the delicate skin there, before he stops and looks up at you nervously. You'd never seen this man look nervous before.
His eyes beg for permission to go down on you and his hot breath passes over your center. You simply push down on his head a bit as a signal to go.
With his elbows buried in the soft mattress, forearms wrapped around your thighs, and eyes closed in concentration, his mouth surrounds that little bundle of nerves, lighting a fire in your belly. The sound of him breathing through his nose and your moans fill the room. Every hair on your body stands on end and your toes curl at the feeling of Jimmy Conway giving you head.
Oh God, Jimmy Conway is giving you head... Jimmy Conway your best friend. Jimmy Conway your Maid of Honor? You quickly push that thought away, then raise your head to look down at the man happily working away between your legs.
This is something you never thought you'd do with Jimmy, yet here you are, and oddly, it feels so... comfortable. You aren't nervous at all. Of course, you can't speak for him.
You lightly scruff up his hair, breathing heavily, "Jimmy..." The first word anyone had said in a while.
"Huh?" he says just after a loud slurping noise. His mouth hangs open in a relaxed way as he catches his breath and looks up at you from under his brow bone.
You let out a laugh in the form of a puff of air and a smile. Jimmy returns the smile; it's a happy smile with a hint of playful mischief in his eyes. A giggle slips out of you, then you both start laughing. At what, you aren't quite sure... the situation, maybe?
Your lover crawls on top of you and cuddles you by pressing his chest to you and wrapping an arm around your waist. Your hands explore his back, lightly scraping your nails over his shoulder blades and the small of his back.
He lets out a soft but deep moan before moving to kiss you again. His fingers nestle in your hair as he softly shows you his affection with his mouth. Your hands rest on his cheeks as he centers himself on top of you, one of his hands gripping under your thigh.
"This alright, princess?" he says in a near whisper.
"Yeah..." you exhale.
"You ready?" He gives you a kiss on the cheek.
"Yeah," you repeat, "I am." You give him a warm smile, cupping a hand on his face again, as if framing it to take a mental snapshot.
His next actions are incredibly gentle, but it makes everything all the more sensual. He plants a few kisses on your neck and collarbone before sitting up on his knees. His arm wraps around your thigh, holding it up in the air, as he aligns the head of his member with your entrance. The tip slides in pretty easily because of your wetness, and you can see Jimmy's breathing deepen; after that, the man moves slowly entering you, making you feel every inch of his length.
You had barely started and you're already both a mess. The pleasure is almost too much to take. Once Jimmy starts to move his hips, he leans forward once again, hovering over you on his hands and knees. You look up into his eyes, feeling his hardness moving inside you. Wanting to be closer to you, he drops down to his elbows and brings his knees up. His hands stroke some hair from your face while his hips rut into yours at a teasing pace.
After appreciating your how pretty you are, Jimmy moves his lips next to your ear and lowly says, "You feel incredible, baby. You feel so good..." He gives you a series of sloppy kisses on your jaw and earlobe.
You simply close your eyes, relax into the man on top of you, and give him an airy moan in response, "You feel good too, Jimmy."
"Mmmm, you like this pace? Or you want me to speed up?" You can feel his hot breath against your neck.
"Maybe, um, deeper?"
"Deeper, huh?" he whispers in your ear, "You wanna feel more of me?" He throws a little chuckle on the end of his question, and he readjusts by hooking a hand under your knee and pushing it up towards you for a deeper feeling while remaining close to you.
With each thrust you let out a grunt or breath of some kind, "Oooh... T-that's- Hnnng!"
"That the spot, baby girl?" Jimmy smiles to himself, happy that he's pleasing you.
A very shaky "mm-hmm" is all you can manage.
Jimmy speeds up his movements just a little, but still maintains a leisurely and romantic mood.
With a gasp, you start, "Jimmy, I- I'm-"
"Cum for me, baby," he coos, lightly sucking and nipping at a little spot on your neck.
"Fuck- Jimmy..." your climax hits you hard, making your head spin, and the only thing you can think about is the man before you, "Jimmy, I- I love you. I love you, Jimmy!"
Before you even have a moment to think about what you'd said, you hear, "I love you, too, (Y/N)," and several grunts and groans as he finds his release inside you.
Jimmy rolls off of you and trucks himself into your side. You hold the man in your arms tightly as you both come down from the high you just experienced. You turn your head to see him nuzzled into the crook of your neck, almost as if he's asleep. He cracks his eyes open at you and props himself up, putting his face close to yours.
You feel... shy for some reason as you press your lips to his, almost as if this is somehow more vulnerable than what you'd just done. You kiss each other softly, over and over, for what feels like a few minutes.
"You know, I didn't know you were close to finishing too," you tell Jimmy, trying to break some tension.
"Mm, well, I told you you felt good," he gives you a half smile, "I didn't know you loved me."
"Oh, well... It just kind of came out, but, uh, it was true. Still is." Another sweet kiss.
"You remember when I told you I couldn't wait to see you walk down that aisle? That was true too," he tells you.
You aren't sure where that came from, and it confuses you, "But... You knew I wasn't gonna get married that day."
"Yeah, but I am gonna see you walk down the aisle one day... when you marry me," he looks down and bites his lip.
You let out a flabbergasted little breath, "Jimmy..."
"C'mon, (Y/N)," he coos, "I love you. I wasn't gonna ever let you marry that other guy. Why do you think I looked into him so hard?"
"I don't understand. Why didn't you just ask me out years ago?" your question ends in a whisper.
"'Cuz I didn't realize what I had 'til I saw it in another man's arms," he tangles his fingers in your hair for another kiss, "but I'm not gonna let it get away from me this time."
• • •
Needless to say, you didn't see much of the beach or much of anyone the rest of your time in the Bahamas. You two already knew everything there was to know about another person, so you spent a lot of time exploring each other... in new ways.
So, it's bittersweet going home to Brooklyn. You'd been away a few months to let tensions between the two crime families die down. You would miss all of the alone time with your new man, but you're so happy to see your dad again.
"Thanks for driving us home from the airport, papa," you say, giving Paulie a side hug as he unlocks the door to the house not too far from the cab stand. You're greeted with hoots and hollers from Tommy, Henry and Karen, Tuddy, and a few others as you step inside. "What's this?!"
"Oh, uh, just a little surprise," Paulie chuckles, "A welcome home party for Jimmy and my girl."
Everyone starts exchanging hugs, giving you and Jimmy a proper New York welcome. As you put your arms around Henry's shoulders, you hear Karen from behind him, "OH no! I know ya not still wearin' your engagement ring," she grabs your hand and pulls you toward her to inspect the ring closer. Her voice lowers a bit, "No, this one's different. It's got pearls on it."
The room is filled with confused faces, until Jimmy takes your other hand in his, "Well, uh, we were on a little island for 2 or 3 months, pearls was all they had!"
Suddenly you're surrounded with Ooh's and Aah's and an "Attaboy Jimmy!" as it dawns on everyone that you're engaged.
"Hey, wait 'til they tell ya about how I'm gonna be a grandad!!" Paulie announces, and again the room fills with noise from everyone's surprise and congratulations. Any other family might have found it odd that you rushed into a new relationship, but this group likes keeping a closed circle, and everyone had their bets placed on you and Jimmy from day one.
Speak of the Devil, you feel his arms slip around you and a hand rests on your baby bump. He whispers in your ear, "I love you both so much. This is the way it always shoulda been."
Completely imersed in the pile of books you gathered in the library in order to try and understand more about potions, you get startled when a boy throws himself into the chair next to you, a yellow stripped tie hitting your head in the process.
"I'll give you 20 bucks if you kiss me."
"What? No!", you give him a disgusted and confused look before digging your head into the old dusty pages again.
"Come on!! Angela keeps coming to me trying to snuggle and kiss me and-", as dramatic as he is, Hyunjin pretends he is going to be sick, exaggerating on the nasty sounds way too close to your ear.
"What? Why?", your bestfriend finally caught your full attention as you turn to face him, "Wait, Angela as in like, Angela your major crush perfect-Angela? Weren't you supposed to like, I don't know, enjoy the attention?" But then the face he makes, his cheeks turning shades of pink as his gaze drifts away from you and he sinks down in his chair in embarrassment, realization hits you, "No! No you did not! Are you like what, dumb?", you flick is head inducing a loud squeal to come out his mouth.
"It was Jeongin's idea!", his voice three pitches higher than before, "And I can't be that dumb if I managed to make that stupid love potion work. But that's beside the point, will you do it or not?"
"Do what? Kiss you? And how will that help you dimwit?", you went to flick his head again because, to be fair, he deserved it, but Hyunjin knew you too well and held your hand in time to stop you from hurting his pretty face, as he likes to state.
"To break the curse! Make her give up on me by making her think we're together or something!"
"What curse? There is no curse! And she isn't even thinking right now, she might just kill me out of jealousy!", at this point you're pratically yelling at each other and are forced to leave the library, resuming this odd conversation on your way to Ravenclaw's common room.
"I still can't believe you let yourself go with what Jeongin tells you. He's evil you know?"
"Should've guessed by the green scarf huh?", you slap his arm lightly, not very fond of the jokes made regarding the fact your other best friend is a Slytherin.
"So, how do I solve this?", he basically pleas at you as you sit down on the desk next to the fireplace, as far away as possible from your housemates. Every two in three students has made, or attempted to make, some sort of potion or spell to have something in their advantage. However, amortentia wasn't just "some potion", and if some were to find out that Hwang - head in space - Hyunjin succeded at his attempt they would never leave his poor ass alone, so for now your plan was to keep this subject as low-key as possible.
"Marry her." you say nonchalantly while, without his knowledge, already looking up all about amortentia, its possible side effects and how long it would take to wear off - if ever-, receiving a whine in return.
"It was really fun at first, you know? The flirting was cute, the smooches were great," and boy he put some emphasis on that adjective,"but now it's like she's obsessed with me! She's clingy and talks with that annoying voice and I can't seem to get rid of her!" Hyunjin throws himself face down into the old couch and whines again, words muffled by the pillow where he burried his face. "She's probably standing right outside the door just now!"
"Wait, what do you mean it was fun at first? How long has this been going on Hwang Hyunjin? And why am I only knowing of this now?", you turn around in your chair way too fast, hitting with your knee on the other chair next to you before facing the mop of brown hair all spread around the blue pillow.
"Well, I barely ever saw you all week!", the boy turns his head just the minimum amount to look at you, "You're either with your nose buried in those old books, or with your hands all over Lee Minho! Not my fault you no longer have time for your friends..."
"First of all," you pull out the pillow he's laying on, his face falling on the black cushion as a few curses leave his lips, "lower your tone! I did not spend the week with my hands all over Minho, I am tutoring him in potions!"
"Which you're not that good at, that's why you walk everywhere with those fat books..." Hyunjin rolls his eyes at you as he recovers the pillow from your hands again, "Don't deny it (y/n), you've got the hots for him!"
"Oh sweetie, I sense jealousy in your tone... is that why you gave Angela a poorly made potion?", you show him the page you've been reading between the backs and forths of your not so relevent argument, only for him to realize the potion should've worn off two days ago. Instead, it only got worse. "Perhaps you could use some reading too huh?"
The boy rips the book from your hands, grunting between his teeth sounds you doubted to be words as he makes his way out, only to shut the door as soon as he opens it, squealing loudly when his eyes meet the ones from the Gryffindor's brunette standing right in the middle of the hallway.
"I'm telling you (y/n), she won't leave me alone! It's like she's obsessed!", Hyunjin keeps his back against the door, afraid the girl could open it by some miracle driven by her potion induced feelings, hence she doesn't have the password.
"Well, you see Hyunjin... that's because she is! And it's your fault, you should simply face it..."
"Oh I'm going the kill Jeongin...", the boy grunts ignoring your words completely as the whines coming from the other side of the door overlapped them, "Can you go get him? Or get rid of her?"
You make your way to the door Hyunjin refuses to unblock and, when words and pushes didn't make the tall boy move, you had to resort to your wand, although the simple threat was more than enough for him to make way for you. He stayed hidden in the corner as you parted the door slightly to tell the girl her beloved had disapparated from there, and she should probably look at the quidditch court. The fact she believed you only proved how strongly she was affected by the potion, since everyone knew Hyunjin would never go to a sports court by his free will and disapparating into and out Hogwarts wasn't possible at all.
As soon as the path got clear you both made your way to the shrieking shack through the whomping willow everyone was so afraid of, but that was exactly why the three of you claimed it as your secret meeting place.
Jeongin was already waiting as you sent him a message through your magic notepad when you got rid of Angela, and you had to secure Hyunjin to not throw the book at the Slytherin boy who only laughed in return. The laughter didn't last long though, because you only stopped Hyunjin so you would be the one scolding the younger one, flicking his head the same way you did to the lover boy earlier.
"Hey! What did you do that for?", the boy frowned at you rubbing his forehead.
"To bring you back to reality, so you can both fix the mess you made!"
"But what's the problem?" Jeongin looked at you with honest confusion on his face, "Is this about the potion? You know that thing wears off in like a week or so right?"
"Exactly... do the math now genius..." Hyunjin rolls his eyes before leaning his back against the spiderweb covered walls.
The three of you spent the whole afternoon trying to figure out what went wrong in the first place, you analyzing every single detail of the procedure, and the boys trying to recreate every step they took to reach the final product. But, after hours of research and theories nothing seemed to have gone wrong, well except for the exaggerated and long-lasting effect of the potion.
"We should just obliviate the poor girl..." suggested Jeongin at one point, head in his hands as a sing of withdrawal.
“I don’t think that’s legal, but we can work around it...” You agree with him closing the book you were now reading for the fifth time.
"Are you guys serious? Because that sounds great! Can we get away with it?" Hyunjin's eyes were sparkling in hope as he shifted in his seat to a more straight up position, ready to do whatever it took to get to walk in peace around the school, without being unexpectedly smooched in the cheek and squezeed into a hug every time the girl spotted him.
"No, it's a joke!" You both sigh at your friend's desperation before calling it a day, deciding to resume your research first thing in the morning.
As per usual, you met with the boys for breakfast at the dining hall, though this time they weren't alone and you couldn't help out a giggle when Angela, as glued to Hyunjin as possible while feeding him something funny looking with a spoon, winked at you as soon as you sat in front of her and next to Jeongin. The latter looked almost as horrified as the pampered boy, and you had to focus to try and keep yourself from bursting into laughter before the scene that was unfolding in front of you.
Hyunjin looked like an annoyed pouty baby slumped in his chair - as an attempt to go unnoticed -, while the smiley girl, - one that seemed to have way too much energy in the morning -, pulled some strands of the boy's hair behind his ear before kissing his cheek, "You're so pretty Hyunnie-jin, and I hate to leave you," the girl pouts as she pinches his cheeks rather aggressively, "but don't worry sugarplum, I'll be waiting for you in the astronomy tower when you leave class." This time the kiss is aimed at his lips, but Hyunjin antecipates her intentions and dodges his head with a slick move, just not fast enough to be fully free of her, ending up with her lips awkwardly attached half to his jaw, half to the corner of his lip.
"So you decided to give in?" You couldn't help the grin that was forming on your face, finding it hilarious how the universe always had a way to keep things balanced.
"Shut up. I had to if I didn't want to starve myself, it was one sacrafice I was willing to take." Hyunjin furiously rubs his face with a napkin, as if it would erase the memory of the previous demonstration of affection.
"I say it's the karma, you were basically playing and manipulating her the moment you gave her the potion, now you face the consequences."
"It's like she's taking revenge..." Jeongin mumbles more to himself than to his friends, but he was still heard, and had now two pairs of eyes locked on him waiting for a further explanation to what seemed to be a pretty plausable theory. "We already concluded we didn't do anything wrong, right?"
"Yes, it's still hard to believe though..." you take a sip of your pumpking juice with a raise eybrow, honestly still impressed at how they pulled that off.
"So what if she got aware that Hyunjin gave-"
"We, Jeongin, we!! This wasn't just me okay? I just got the, uh, benefits?"
"Ok, sure, whatever... What if she became aware that we," emphasis on the pronoun as he glanced at Hyunjin, "gave her a potion and now that it wore off she is pulling this act as a pay back? Because, according to our lover boy, if it was nice at first then why would she suddenly start acting all obsessively?"
Both you and Hyunjin took a moment to reflect on this new theory, one Jeongin was really proud of as showed by his smug grin when he crossed his arms and relaxed back in his chair.
"I hate to admit it, but that makes a lot of sense... and explains why she winked at me when I got here..."
"Okay yes, she is faking it... why else would she wink at (y/n) when I'm the one she's supposed to be focused on?", the boy threw his arms up with a questionting - and slightly offended - look.
"Time for confrontation!" you were already standing up with Hyunjin following the lead, but you held yourselves back when you realized Jeongin wasn't moving, looking between the both of you still grinning.
"I've got a better idea..."
It was a terrible idea, you thought, and wanted no part in it at all so you let the boys discuss the details while you just sat there judging their poor life decisions.
The plan was for Hyunjin, instead of confronting her and get it over with as you suggested, to play along as if he too was deeply in love with her, and see who would break out of character first. As much as you tried to explain how childish and stupid the plan was, the boys simply wouldn't listen to you, convinced this was the best idea they've ever had.
Hyunjin got oddly excited about this and ran to astronomy class, already antecipating the act he would pull off when he'd see the girl waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs when he'd get out, leaving you and Jeongin alone in the dining all. The contrast of your opinions on this was pretty clear in your faces, Jeongin laughing loudly, you furrowing your brows and shaking your head in disapproval.
Then, all of a sudden, the boy stops laughing and looks at you, "What if they actually end up falling in love after all this?"
He sounded seriously concerned yet amused at the same time, while you only rolled your eyes at him before collecting your books and leaving for class as well.
"Shut up, this isn't a wattpad fanfic."
James Potter x Reader
A letter for James Fleamont Potter
Dear James Potter,
Hey, what's up? That's a lousy letter starter after years of pretending you guys didn't exist.. This would be a rollercoaster of emotions, so try to keep up. Remember when we first met? You were in Ollivanders, buying a wand when you accidentaly almost killed me?
A little girl was walking pass a shop called Ollivanders, she was simply minding her own business when a ray of magic blast to her.. She fell on her butt first, her hair was a mess, she looked like she got burnt..
"Oh, dear godric!I'm very sorry!" A little boy about the same age as the girl came running out of the store.. He had a messy hair and thick glasses, he gave the girl an apologetic smile..
"What in the bloody hell are you doing?!" The girl was mad, who wouldn't? She was just simply having a great day when an idiot almost killed her..
"Buying wands?" He answered unsure. He was just shopping for wands when this very powerful surge made him lose control and it blast to her.
"I look like a mess, Mother would be infuriated..", The girl mumbles to herself as she stands up.. She huffs and glare at the boy.
"I'm James, by the way.."
"I'm Y---"
"Y/N L/N!!WHAT HAPPEND TO YOU?!" Her mother's voice boomed all throughout the alley causing some wizards to look at them..
"Goodbye, you bloody idiot.." Y/N mutters to herself.
"I heard that!"
"You were supposed to hear that!"
And that was the start of our friendship.. You little dim wit, but I'm thankful for that, because I got to meet you.. Did you know that I was not very fond of you? You just wore me down, you're a persistent arse.. But now, it all made sense to me..
What my gut was telling me about you.. You were-- no no, you're still my downfall, James.. I clearly remember when it all daunt to me, the how and why? I'm still unsure about the answer to those two questions. I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about, if you don't... I'll say it or write it now..
I'm hopelessly fucking in love with you, I realized that when you went and announced your relationship with Lily.. There was this painfully hurtful jealousy in my heart and brain.. And I couldn't get rid of those stupid feelings for you..
It was another dreary Sunday in Hogwarts, Y/N was with the Marauders except for James, they were eating at the great hall.. They were talking, teasing and annoying each other when James entered with Lily in his arms.. That image broke Y/N to thousands of little pieces, she suddenly became one with the universe.
"She finally said yes, mates!" James announced causing all of the students to cheer and screamed, obviously happy.
To Y/N, the news broke her.. She was fine with James crushing to Lily because she though Lily was not interested.. But after years of pining and persuasion, she finally said yes. Y/N should've seen it coming, she should be happy for them but why is she hurting?
"Aren't you happy for us, Y/N?"
Y/N was called back from her thoughts, the question echoed through her mind.. Oh dear Godric, she was not happy.. She wanted to be the one under James arms, or to be the one to kiss him in the lips.. She love James, not like platonic, this was so much more.. She wanted to be Lily so bad, ofcourse she's not bloody happy!
"Of course, I am!Congratulations, Prongs!"
But what could she do? Y/N would have lost that battle years ago, she was not James type.. What could she do but just pretend that she was happy and fine with them.. She was dead sure that she'll forget all about James someday.. So until that day comes, she needs to fake a smile and accept her fate.
Loving your bestfriend is the worst thing in the world, James.. I wanted to confess so bad, but the idea of losing you was a heavy baggage to carry.. So, I settled by just being your friend but you don't know how many times I've wanted to confess..
To go up to you and smashed my lips into yours but you were in a relationship with Lily, so I never did anything.. You were happy, and that was enough for me.. And don't get me wrong, I tried to find someone else but you were the best James..
It has been weeks since James and Lily got together, no one knew how she felt.. She was all alone, fighting her feelings from overcoming her. Y/N was sitting in the library, reading a muggle book called 'Wuthering Heights'..
However she hated it, she was bitter and had no time for lovey dovey books.. Y/N needed to move on, she shouldn't be stuck on James..
"Hey, Y/N!"
Y/N was startled by a Hufflepuff student, she smiled and laughed..
"I'm sorry if I startled you, I--I just have a question to ask you.."
Y/N squint her eyes, she doesn't even know this guy.. She rattled her brain for any recollection of this guy..The guy saw her confused face and chuckled.
"I'm Oliver Rigby, the captain of the Hufflepuff quidditch team.."
"Ohhh, yeah.." She just murmured but she had no idea who this guy is.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?"
Y/N was taken aback but she needed to move on, she can no longer be hung up on a guy that doesn't even loves her back.
"Sure.."
"Alright!I'll pick you up then!"
Y/N just smiled and walked away, she was reluctant to moved on.. Her heart was still beating for James, but she needs to move on.. For her own sake.
They were nothing compared to you, I tried to moved on.. But I always ended up to you, the same feelings always came rushing in when I see you.. Every guy seems horrible when compared to you.. The short period of time we spent together was wonderful, you gave me purpose when no one else did.
Y/N has just come back from a very horrible date, the guy did nothing but talk and brag about himself.. He was not like James who was funny and talks about entertaining stories.. The guy was not sweet nor kind, he was a bit of an ass.. That's the only thing he had in common with James, she sighs and sat in one of the sofa in the common room..
No one can beat James to Y/N, her standards were bloody high because of James.. She wanted to cry but that was stupid.. Crying over a guy who didn't even hurt her, she hates herself.
"Hey."
Y/N heart skipped a beat, she knows who's voice is that.. That voice gives her butterflies, she loves how that voice says her name..
"James.."
"Thought you had a date?Why are you back so early?" He questioned.
"O-Ohh.."
"Did he stood you up? I reckon he'd do that, he looked like a douche to me."
"Sure.." She answered not looking at him, James sits next to her and put her arms around Y/N.. She felt her body stiffen as his body made contact with her.. Y/N silently prayed that James wouldn't notice her increasing heartbeat, the stiffening of her body and the way her cheeks blush..
"Are you alright?" James seems to notice his bestfriend all red and she looked like very uncomfortable..
"What if I said no, what would you do?"
"Make you feel better, ofcourse!" His laughs echoed through the whole Gryffindor tower.. Y/N let out a dry laugh, she didn't mean that.. But her heart was breaking into thousands of pieces, she want this feeling out of her system.
"Are you really alright?"
"Yeah, maybe.."
"Want to talk---"
"Jameees!" Lily's voice called the attention of the messy-haired boy..
"I'll be right back, Lily needs me.."
"B-But what about me?" Y/N tried her very best to not choke up and crack.
"Later, Y/N.." James messed her hair, she didn't meant to be demanding however this was the sign she was looking for.. The sign that James doesn't feel anything special for her, she was just James very annoying friend..Y/N realized that with one call, Lily has James wrapped around her perfect fingers, with only one call from Lily, James was gone.. He just left her hurting friend for Lily, Y/N suddenly felt her heart was no longer there..
It was bruised and beated so many times, and now.. Y/N chest is nothing but a vacant lot, an empty hollow space.. The tiny little hope that maybe James likes her back can no longer be found.
That hope was now gone.
Y/N had reached her limit, it was truly over.. The love and jealousy she feels was a heavy baggage to carry. Y/N needed to avoid James, just until she was fully okay..
Y/N knew deep inside her that her love for James will never fully go away..
Avoiding you was the only reasonable thing to do, to be frank.. It was the only thing to do.. If I kept up that silly facade, I would ended up being mental.. You see James, jealousy is a monster that takes over your whole mind and body. It's a hideous monster you can't escape.. I do have a few questions, did you notice the not-so-subtle cold shoulder I gave you? Because back then it seems like you didn't, did you though? Did you cry every night like I did? Or did your heart break like mine did?
Y/N finally got out of her bed, she was in the great hall, hundreds of feet away from James.. But from the looks of it, he didn't really seem to mind.. He was too busy whispering sweet nothings to Lily's ear.
"If your glares could kill, Evans and Potter would be dead now.." Her friend intoned, she snapped her head away from the sight of James.
"I don't what your talking about.." Y/N denied..
"Of course, you don't.." Her friend tease.
"If my looks can kill, you will be the first one dead.." Y/N gave her friend a glare which her friends just brushed off.
"Blimey!No need to get mad, I was just stating facts.."
"Just sod off." Y/N just played with the food in her plate.
"If you told James about your feelings, he would've ask you out." Y/N's friend said in a teasing manner..
"No, he would never do that.."
"And how do you know that?" Y/n rolled her eyes at her friends question.
"Because I knew James, he was inlove with Lily since the start of our first year. "
"That's what you think.." Her friend crosses her arms and smirk at her.
"What?" She questioned confused.
"Nothing, idiot.. You won't understand.."
"O-kay?"
"Look Y/N, just move on.." Y/N scoffs at her friends genius idea.
"You make it sound like it's so bloody easy.."
"Is it not?You cry about it for a day then you find someone else.. " Y/N looked at her friend with a surprised gaze, is it that easy? How come it's so hard for her?
"See, easy.."
"Sod off.." She shut her friend down as thoughts occupied her mind..
Y/N was walking down the silent halls of Hogwarts alone, a frown in her face she hasn't been smiling this past few weeks.. Her back suddenly stood straight when the four familiar faces welcomed her when she entered an empty classroom.
"Oh, hello Y/N.." Sirius was the first to greet her with a big smile on his face but she didn't give the smile back.
"Y/N!I was wondering where you were these past few weeks.." Remus gave her a comforting smile.
"Yeah, I had no one to eat my sweets with!" Peter walked up to Y/N and offered her a chocolate which she didn't accept.
"I apologize, I have to go now.."
"But Y/N--" Peter didn't get to finish the sentence, she was gone, James didn't even look up from his seat.. Did he forgot all about Y/N? But Y/N didn't feel anything anymore.. Funny how numbness can have it's perks sometimes..
Maybe you didn't notice me because you were so inlove with pretty little Evans? That came out a little rude, I apologize for that, but I'm not sorry.. You see, I don't hate Lily, but then again kinda wish she were dead.. She was all you saw James, I was with you through your worst.. I gave you everything, but what do I get in return?
Just heartaches and neverending what-ifs.. You never saw me James.. Remember the day we graduated and left Hogwarts? You didn't even say goodbye to me, not even a single glance James.. I was not the only one who gave up on our friendship.. We both did, James..
Riding the Hogwarts train one last time was a bittersweet moment for others.. To Y/N, it was a relief.. She would finally get to leave the place that reminds her of James, every corner and walls was embedded with memories of Y/N and James having fun with each other.. It may sound nice but it only brought misery to her.
"Y/N!We're getting off now.." Y/N's friend broke her silent trance.. Y/N stands up and exits the train, her feet hit the platform floor, Y/N took a deep breath and wander her eyes to the sea of graduate  students. Some were celebrating, some were crying and there Y/N saw him..
James had Lily under his arms as they talk with the rest of the Marauders.. Disappointment was written all over Y/N's face, this was the last day they would be able to see each other and James didn't even glance at her.. They were friends for years, she couldn't belive that their friendship was beyond repair..
"Quit staring at him, your looking pathetic." Y/N whispers under her breath, walking away without saying goodbye was not how she planned her last day in Hogwarts. Y/N was moving to America and will work in the Ministry of Magic there.. She does not want to work in the same place that James and Lily was going to work at..
Y/N needs to really move on, and America would be the place for it.. Atleast there, she's far away from any reminders of James or Lily.. Holding her trunk, she walks away from her old life.. No more heartaches, just miserable thoughts and lots of what ifs.
Moving here didn't even help, I'm still inlove with you.. You might be confused about why I'm just sending this letter to you now.. Well Mister Potter, I just got an invitation to your wedding and I'm very very drunk right now.. I didn't think you would really send me an invitation because you know were just strangers.. We spent years ignoring each other and now this bloody envelope shows up at my home..
How did you even knew my address? Were you keeping tabs on me? If that's the case then I'm very flattered and also a little bit creeped out but that's not the point! The point is, I'm not going to your wedding because I'm still fucking inlove with you.. I hope you enjoy the wedding though, also don't bother writing back.. I would never remember this anyway, so James.. Give Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease.
Sincerely,
Y/N L/N
"You remember when I took you out for milkshakes and you spilled yours all over me? You were wearing that exact same color," Lee said pointing at the dress she was pressing.
"All those years ago, and you still remember that?" Y/n wanted to drown in this tender moment she's having with her husband. Hearing him laugh, his stomach shifting, and his eyes wrinkling.
"How could I? Watching you get all flustered and cute really got me goin’. It's when I knew I was gonna marry ya."
The days have been incredibly warm and beautiful since Y/n had done what she did. It was cruel irony that she was enjoying another day while someone’s body was rotting. The softer moments of life were few and far between these days, but right now she’s offered her a wonderful distraction.
She had taken on more tasks than usual to distract herself from the intrusive thoughts she had. She even accepted a last minute invite to help put on an event at the local rental hall with some of the other mothers in town. It gave her an excuse to look nice and show herself off to anyone who had some doubts about Lee. Things were looking good for him, but there was always something to do to further rehabilitate his image. She always looked her best as the sheriff's wife. Keeping up the appearances exhausted her since they have become more frequent for her. However if she wanted the people to fawn over her lovely family, she had to show up. An arts and crafts event for the kids is also a good chance to get their daughter out of the house.
Teenage Y/n did not see herself becoming a housewife so young. It was unsavory to think about being a homemaker for one of the boys’ at school. She surmised that she would’ve stuck by her original plan if she had not been so lonely. All of Y/n's friends left within a year of graduating high school. She didn't have that many friends to begin with, but she thought that at least one would always be there for her. Rose went to college, and Barbara found a man to marry and moved to upstate New York. Only one stayed for some time, Judith, but she eventually left after having a shotgun wedding. It was selfish of her to think that someone would stay just because she got rejected from the only college she had applied to. Other people had lives and Y/n was just not at the center of them.
The absence of her friends made her pregnancy more lonely. Her baby shower consisted of her family, Lee’s sister, and his co-workers and their wives. None of the women seemed to be fond of Y/n. It always plagued her mind to know if they thought she was too young and stupid or if it was just something else
She found solace in some of the other mother's in town. When she began showing up around to volunteer at bake sales and food drives she expected them to look at her face and then down at her belly and reject her. She is younger than them and feared they'd find her naïve. She had kept to herself for so long that she thought they'd write her off as the sheriff's meek wife.
Y/n didn't get a chance to mingle with anyone prior to her marriage and Lee made it harder by insisting in little ways that she stay in the house. No one was at fault that Lee wanted to keep her to himself. It was possible he did it out of insecurity, but Y/n now speculates that it was because he didn’t want to hear or even see what he may have been doing.
One of the ladies who Y/n only knew by her dark hair and distinct, pointy nose joked that Lee had, "finally let Rapunzel out of the castle." When the other mothers joined into laughter, she felt small. It was only a harmless joke that was steeped in the truth. It took her persistence to no longer wanting to feel alone while being pregnant to get the women to warm up to her, and the did.
"I remember spilling the milkshake, but I was too embarrassed to remember anything else about that night," she admitted.
Lee remembers that night very well. He wishes that she didn't end the night so quickly because she ruined a pair of trousers that could easily be replaced. He had only bought them to impress her, but it didn't take much to get her to swoon over him. No other man was giving her the time of day.
"We should go out to that diner Friday night. Now that we have someone to watch the little one, we don't have to stop by your parents to drop her off anymore. I can just scoop you up and we can have a night together," Lee pressed himself into Y/n's backside. She giggled when his hands lightly danced against her ticklish sides.
Lee had also been aware of the slim moments of intimacy with his wife. He was serious about this race but he truly underestimated how much time and effort he'd have to put into this. But people really did love the old mayor. The only slight Lee had against him was his old age and how some believed that if he kept going then he might run into some health problems. The rumors about him becoming more and more forgetful were minute compared to the dark gossip swirling about Lee though. Some of the people in town would probably vote for a paper bag before Lee.
His biggest fear is that he loses the election and drives his wife away. He could lose the race, but if his wife somehow slipped away, taking their baby with her, he’d drink himself into a stupor. Lee tried his very best to hide his insecurities from her. When he worried, she worried too and it made it much harder for him to plan his way out of whatever hole he is in when he has a hysterical wife to deal with. That's why he'd rather not tell her anything.
Lee also wasn't the young man in his prime anymore, he believed that his good looks were fading, and he has gained a considerable amount of weight. The fear of Y/n just up and leaving him for someone younger than him and riding off to the city always plagued him. The birth of their daughter should've assuaged him, but his self-doubt always lingered like a cloud that made him stick to his vices.
"I've really missed ya honey...missed this body of yours."
Y/n flinched when his hands ran down the front of her body, over her stomach and then circling up back to her breast. Her body has changed considerably since giving birth and the hormonal imbalance left her feeling tired, sad, and alone. Her mother told her that all she had to do was look at her child and she'd feel better, but every time she looked at her little girl all she did was worry. Was she a good mom? Why was her daughter crying so much without much working? Was Lee staying at work for long hours to avoid the crying and her? Did he still find her attractive?
They’re both too busy thinking Lee's mayoral bid to realize they felt the exact same way as each other. If there was any other time that proved they were an extension of each other, it was now, but they were too blind to see it.
"Lee y-you're going to be late for work," her voice was weakened by his lips now nipping at her neck.
"Don't give a damn," he whispered against her skin, inhaling her familiar scent, "just wanna feel my wife."
Today, Y/n felt herself slipping back into her normal self and normal life. She melted into Lee, hoping that maybe they could have a moment to themselves, but they were interrupted by the phone ringing downstairs. Every early morning and late night phone call had her on edge. They never seemed to be about anything important but it hasn't failed yet to make her stomach churn.
Lee groaned and pulled away from her. She watched him disappear to go answer the phone.
It has been nearly two days and the only thing on her mind is what happened after she left that brothel. The anxiety made her feel sick. Hours later after it happened, around 2 a.m., she woke up and darted to the toilet. Lee kept asking her if she was pregnant as he held her hair back while her face was in the toilet. She dismissed his claims, knowing full and well that she was just sickened by her actions.
Lee had not mentioned a death or anything related to that brothel, so had he even been found? Was his death even reported? The girls who worked for him were probably too worried about their own arrest than the death of their abusive boss.
She wiped the look of worry off of her face when she heard his heavy footsteps coming back up the stairs.
"Who was it?"
"Your brother," his tone held disgust, "invited us to dinner on Sunday. He asked to speak to you but I told him you were still sleep."
"Lee!"
"I don't want to hear it," his voice boomed, much more dominant and rough than hers, "I ain't having dinner with him and I don't want to hear your mouth about it."
Y/n stayed silent and watched him grab the police hat resting on the dresser. She hated for him to leave on such a sour note, but she wouldn't dare say anything in fear she might make things worse.
He started towards the door of their bedroom before turning back to his wife, "Sandy supposed to stop by Saturday. I don't know why, so don't ask, but she claims she's comin'. Who knows if she'll stick to her word."
It’s like Lee did that on purpose, as some sort of sick payback for her brother calling. Y/n was not fond of Sandy and did not like to be around her for more than ten minutes. Sandy was a nice girl, a bit unsavory at times, but her husband Carl was a stain on her life. There was something about him that reminded her of the men her mother had warned her about when she was a young teenager; a man with a slick tongue and a creepy air around him. However, she found Carl much more sinister than that. The look in Carl's eyes when he looked at her and flashed her that unsettling smile was imprinted into her brain. They did not come around much, but when they did it was always a traumatic experience for Y/n.
Lee left the room before Y/n could respond. He knows how Y/n feels, but he can’t bring himself to care right now. She’s not going to protest against it because she knows better than that. He focused on the sound of soft babbling from his daughter as he walked into her room.
"Hey you," she looked up at him with her big eyes and her widening smile that made his heart swell, "you gonna be good for your mama? You've been on a mean streak lately and I'd hate to make good on my threat and put you in baby jail."
His daughter reached up and tried to grab at his face. Lee was clean-shaven now, but for the first few months of his daughter's life he had enough hair on his face for her to grab a hold of. It was funny to see how she still tried to grab at his non-existent hair, pinching his skin in the process.
"Miss the beard little lady? You're just like your mama," he kissed her forehead and felt a deep sense of guilt that he had to leave her to go to work. But everything he did was for her and if he believes that the long hours are going to pay off. All of his work is going to pay off when he wins that race.
-
The dress her daughter wore was blush to complement her mother's golden one. She looked around at every single building and person they passed as if it was her first time seeing it again. Her sense of wonder always made Y/n adore her even more. Y/n wondered what was going on in the little mind of her and what sense she made of the world.
She was never fussy when they were out, which was good for Y/n, but also good for the rehabilitation of Lee's image. He has such a good daughter and pretty wife, he must be doing something right. Every single person who stopped to say hi or coo at how cute her baby was, Y/n wondered if they have ever said something negative about Lee. Y/n never received weird stares or grimaces that would make her paranoid, but she still felt on edge. She always wanted to be on her best behavior, especially when Lee was not with her.
Y/n was forced to be her normal self; cheerful even though her mind was reeling over two nights ago, her sister-in-law, and what the conversation between Lee and her brother this morning may have sounded like. When one of the toddlers thrusted their drawing her face she feigned an excited smile. She hoped the mother's didn't notice her lackluster attitude.
"Y/n , can I speak with you?"
It was Sally's voice that called to her. She looked at the blonde woman with a bit of panic on her face. She thought that she was going to get chewed out by her, especially since she pulled her far away from the other children, and her daughter who was being held by one of the recently graduated girls.
"Is everything alright Sally?"
"I should be asking you that. Why am I hear things about Mrs. Blackwater sayin' she seen your Lee dumpin' bodies in the river behind her house?" At that moment Y/n could not hear her despite her lips still moving. Her blood ran cold at that last name being mentioned. It's been years, close to a decade, since she thought about that old woman, but the mere mention of her name brought Y/n back to a place she didn't want to be.
"I-I...I don't know what she's talking about-"
"My husband and I made a sizable donation to your husband's campaign, and it would be a shame to see him lose," the sugary voice and fake smile on Sally's face made Y/n's stomach ache. She didn't like how some of these women could be so fake because it always made her question if they really liked her or not. But Sally didn't care what Y/n would respond with, all she cared about was her and her husband's reputation, "you're not that much younger than me so you remember them days when that old bitch would be on her porch spewin’ whatever nonsense she could think if at any girl who walked on her sidewalk. No one likes Mrs. Blackwater, but don't think for a second they won't consider what she has to say about that husband of yours. I've heard too many whispers about him and I don't like it. I'll pull my endorsements if you don't fix this shit."
Was murdering one person not enough to save her husband from losing this race? The brothel owner was one person, someone who would not be missed by many people, but could she do something about Mrs. Blackwater?
'That's not right, that's not right.'
No matter how much she tried to shake that evil idea off, it kept creeping into her mind. Murder was the unlikely tool she had in her arsenal all along. It was morally wrong to kill someone, but her victim and the potential one had not been nice people. Mrs. Blackwater's stain on this Earth paled in comparison to Reed's, but that woman made her blood run much colder than the brothel owner.
It was so ironic that Mr. Blackwater was a beloved man in town because no one could stand his wife. They knew not to cross her path and that pies and home cooked meals would not abate her disdain for people. A man who was so kind and friendly was married to the most antisocial person Y/n has ever come across. But he never wasted a moment to sing her her praises. Y/n remembers one of her sons and he was mean just like his mother; a school yard bully that would beat up on anyone he saw as weak and alone. Y/n was lucky that he knew she had an older brother to protect because the Blackwater’s youngest boy never tried anything with her. However, she was not lucky enough to escape the wrath of Mrs. Blackwater. The irony was that she probably would've been better off being a victim of her son. That woman was nasty and wasn't afraid to show it.
"Don't you two get tired of dressing like whores?"
They had to pass the Blackwater house to get to Rose's house. Her house used to be at the end of the street before it got burned down, leaving the Blackwater house the last one on the street. It was nice, and had a big, big porch that Mrs. Blackwater always sat on for most of the day. She didn't stop at calling them just "whores'' and "wenches" either. Y/n never could understand why they always took the brunt of that woman's anger. Rose went home in tears every time she walked by that house. Maybe Y/n's anger is displaced, but she blames Mrs. Blackwater for why Rose was so eager to leave. There wasn't much here, but Rose always promised she'd stay. But ever since they encountered Mrs. Blackwater's misery, Rose had changed.
She could imagine that same venomous voice saying awful things about her husband, "Lee Bodecker put that body in the water. I saw it with my own two eyes!"
The thought of her husband killing someone shouldn't sound so crazy, especially after being able to do it herself. But her Lee can't be a cold-hearted man who slept with whores, murdered people, and ruined people lives. He was so sweet to her, he wasn't always was, but his touch was so soft against her skin, how could he hurt anyone?
Y/n had just turned 19 when she met Lee. He was a deputy, closer to being the sheriff than either of them knew at the time. Their age difference scared her somewhat; she only gave him a chance so she could distract herself from reminding herself that she should be finishing up the last year of being a college freshman. She had the grades and thought her test scores were satisfactory but she got rejected from Indiana University. Her father told her that there is always next year, but her mother told her she should just figure out a new plan.
It was the uncertainty and loneliness that made her get closer to Lee. He was close to his late 20s, unmarried, and he didn't exactly make his loneliness unknown.
He left a sour taste in her mouth in their very first encounter; pulling her over as an excuse to get her number. She gripped the steering wheel to stop them from shaking so much. She only had her license for a few weeks and made sure to be careful in fear of this exact situation happening. His slick talk didn't make her feel that much better either. She was too shaken up to even look at him in the eye or take in any of his features. She just remembered seeing his badge the words DEPUTY SHERIFF etched into it.
Lee let her off, saying she had a "pretty face" and that he hoped to see her around. She didn't think much about their interaction the days after he pulled her over, but she began to see him more than before. Y/n couldn't remember a time she had seen him prior to that one night and found it odd that his face kept reappearing. (He later told her that it was fate, but it was not. Lee purposefully put himself in her orbit. It was not hard to learn what her routine was and when she went out.)
She was weary about his advances, unsure how to react to them because the most experience she's had was with two boys, only one of whom she kissed. Their first date was not by choice either, he just decided to stick by her side while she was at the local dinner by herself.
And he has always stuck by since then, always hovering around her until she realized he was not going to go away and it’d be futile to ignore him. Lee never gave her the chance to make the decision for herself, but his girl was so sweet and she just needed a few cushy words for her to understand that this was where she belonged.
"Do your parents know you're out here meeting me?" It had only been a matter of time before she learned to be very obedient to him; always accepting his plans, even if it meant sneaking out of the house in the midnight hour. The smirk he wore on his face every time he watched her walk up to him left her feeling enchanted.
"Don't talk too loud. If my brother hears you he'll kill you and have my head."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her front to him. Lee groaned at the feel of her breast against his chest. She was so nervous to do anything with him that she only let him kiss her. It was fine for a while, but he had grown tired of waiting. Tired of being teased by her in those soft, pink dresses that would ride up whenever she had to bend over even just a little bit. He couldn't believe how naive she was to believe he was always dropping things like a pencil or his wallet on accident; he just wanted to see her bend over for him just for a chance to peak at what pretty panties she wore that day.
Getting her to come out with him at night was surprising, but the idea of riding in his patrol car was so alluring. The sparkle in her eyes gave him an overwhelming sense of machismo; enough for him to realize he just needs to take what she wants.
The full moon hung in the clear sky and they had a vast, open field in front of them. He took her just to the edge of the county that was secluded and was his favorite spot to go for some quiet (or getting his dick sucked). The moonlight and a few street lights that were actually working were the only light they had.
"You look so pretty today baby," his hand rested on her thigh the whole entire drive but only now did he actually move it to stroke her skin, "you always look so pretty for me. I'm the luckiest man in town."
Y/n giggled and her face felt like it was burning up. No one had taken the time to compliment her sweetly, and that was obvious to Lee. He cradled her face in the palm of his hand and watched her turn into putty. His hand inches closer to her heat causing her to jump like his hand was made of actual fire.
"Relax baby...just relax for me," Lee planted his face in her neck and nipped at it. His lips tickled the skin on her neck and she did her best to suppress her giggles but they spilled from her lips. Lee smirked against her skin, "there she is. There's my girl."
She let a laugh slip through, but she suppressed the moan that was stuck in her throat. It was so odd to feel him on her neck but it was an unfamiliar feeling that she liked. His hand never left her thigh, in fact he had sneakily moved it closer to her sex. She felt ashamed about the growing wetness that she could feel sticking to her.
Lee grabbed her hand and placed it right over the bulge straining in his pants. She let out a heavy sigh when she realized what it was. "That's how hard you make me. You making me so fucking hard girl," he growled in her ears. This was something only the senior girls from her high school could dream about when they talked about hooking up with their boyfriends. None of them were even half the man Lee was, and here he was: hard and ready just for her.
"L-Lee," her voice broke into bits, her body overheating from Lee taking control, "wait, can we slow down?"
"You taste so sweet baby," he continued kissing her, ignoring her until she was pulling away from his grasp. "What's wrong girl?" The furrowing of his brow made her worry that she pissed him off. Lee was all she had, he convinced her to put away her dream of going to college and stay here for him, if she ran him off then she'd have nothing else.
"I'm just nervous. I’ve never done this before Lee," she hoped her honesty went a long way and would make him take her home instead. But all it did was make him readjust himself in his seat and pull away from her rather coldly.
Lee was irritated with her, she got him all hard, but he did his best to temper his anger. She's lucky that he was on the job all day and didn't have a chance to drink yet or else she'd see the side of him that he purposely hid from her.
"Don't be nervous baby. You know I love you right?" She nodded her head with her wide eyes holding a sad look in them, "good girl. Let me show you something."
Lee patted his lap and Y/n looked at him with apprehension.
"C'mon now," he patted his lap once again, this time with a bit of impatience in his voice.
Y/n awkwardly shifted over the center console of his patrol car and found herself in his lap. His strong arms wrapped around her waist and he rested his chin on her shoulder. She tried to ignore how his bulge poked at her slit through her cotton panties.
"You ever been in a car this nice before?"
"Uh-uh," she shook her head, somewhat distracted by the beautiful interior and his cock poking at her. The only car she's ever drove was the shitty one that was passed down to her. Lee's patrol car doesn't look like it's more than five years old.
Seeing her look in wonder at the dash made him even harder. He began to rut against her, trying to feel as much friction as he could, but it wasn't enough to satiate a man who has been waiting a few months for this.
He sat back and started fumbling with his pants. Y/n heard the sound of the metal on his belt and unzipping of his pants but she froze on top of him instead of moving. She grabbed the steering wheel and held onto it as tight as she did the night he first laid eyes on her. Her alarm rose when Lee lifted her up a little to push her panties to the side.
"Lee what are you doing-"
"Shhh baby don't worry, I got you."
The sensation of his head poking at her slit and her sliding down him was unspeakable. She was uncomfortable with his splitting size, but he didn't move her at all, trying to give her some time to adjust but it was just so hard for him to restrain himself. She was so tight and warm, and definitely untouched by any man. "Fuck," he mumbled warmly in her ear. She felt him wrap his arm tighter around her, almost as if he was afraid she was going to somehow run away from him. Even if she wanted to, she wouldn't know her way back home and she'd be stuck out here. She was safe with Lee even though she found herself feeling more confusion than pleasure.
Those girls from her high school days had to been lying to her, sex didn’t feel all that magical; his patrol car was not a romantic place to lose her virginity. Lee rocked her on his cock slowly as she tried to find the same pleasure that he was experiencing. His heavy breath was on her ear as she stared straight up into the night sky.
"You feel so good. You feel so fucking good baby."
His pleasure is what made her want to stay on top of him like this. She cared for him so much and she just wanted Lee to be proud of her. The "good girl" that continuously spilled from his lips sounded like a hymn she wanted to memorize.
Y/n let Lee have his way with her body. He groped her breast through her dress and then let his hands graze her sides. She wondered what he was doing when his hand slipped into her panties, but the warmth that shot through her made her mind go blank. Lee rubbed at her sensitive bud and she constricted around him. Instead of whimpering, she was now fully moaning; the way it felt so good had put her discomfort into the back of her mind.
"Oh fuck -- move your hips girl. You feel so good."
He rubbed her harder as a reward for swirling her hips against him. She began to bounce on top of him and he no longer had to do the hard work, just lean back and feel her engulfing him in her warmth.
"Lee," she whimpered, unsure of herself, but then she called his name again, "Lee," as if to let him know that he was the one giving her pleasure.
Lee knew he wasn't going to last, not when she was as tight and wet as she was. He can't remember the last time he took someone's virginity, nor when he was this hard. It was clear to him that she had no idea what she was doing by the way she bounced on him without a rhythm. Sometimes she'd stall herself before moving fast again. It didn't irk him, he found it endearing that she was so inexperienced. He was going to have to show her a lot of things and get her to fuck him to his liking.
Y/n gasped when Lee pulled out of her and jerked himself until white liquid was splashing on the back of her panties. She'd have to wash them before her mother saw the stain.
"You did so good baby, taking my cock like a big girl," he placed a sloppy kiss on her cheek, still trying to catch his breath while she shifted on top of him. He put himself away and nudged her towards the empty passenger seat. She was silent the entire time he drove her home. A sense of pride filled her because she had made Lee feel good. The sex itself was too weird to describe as being good, but she liked how she felt inside when he told her she felt good and that she made him cum. That's all she wanted to do was please Lee.
-
Saturday morning proved to be another beautiful day. It seems as if Summer didn't want to leave just yet even though October was near. There wouldn't be many more opportunities for Lee to make his impressions and sway the last few voters not on his side.
The event had been boring at most, but Sally's words really shook her up. No one in town would deny that Mrs. Blackwater has always been a bitter women, but they also wouldn't necessarily turn the other cheek if she starts going around saying that Lee Bodecker is a murder. Y/n's new problem made her forget about the decaying brothel owner. She doesn't care how mean the whole town thought the old woman was, she wanted her gone.
"You slept in. Did I tire you out last night?" Lee had the same smug smirk on his face that has been imprinted on her brains since their early years together.
Y/n nodded even though it wasn't completely truthful. She slept so hard because she's mentally spent and it was finally catching up with her body. Lee had been too distracted to notice how distant she was last night and how she is still distant now. In his eyes, as long as she was eager to lay under him then everything was fine.
Most mornings started like this: Y/n waking up next to her still tired husband and waiting to hear her daughter crying for her. He trudged out of bed and she heard him beat a path down the hall to the bathroom. There was still no sound of her daughter needing her, giving her some time alone. It was nearly silent except for the faint sound of the shower going. She breathed deeply and found herself feeling serene. Just five minutes without the memory of Sally threatening to pull her and her husband's support taunting her.
"Y/n! Do you not hear her crying?" Lee held a stern look on face, he must have been standing there for a few minutes. His towel was wrapped around his waist, stomach hanging over the soft white cotton, "what's wrong with you girl?"
She shook her head, "nothing Lee. I'm just still a lil' tired."
His face softened at her explanation but he nodded his head towards the door so she could take care of their daughter. Y/n hurried not to upset him for the rest of the day.
Their baby was just fussy and hungry. Her little eyes weren’t that red so she hadn’t been crying for long. “You hungry?” Her daughter somewhat understood what her mother was saying because her eyes went wide. The nightgowns Lee had bought Y/n made it much easier for her to pull herself out of them to feed their girl. She could see her daughter calming down, eyes closing once again. Y/n thought about keeping her daughter with her but she needed to rest in her crib. She placed her down gently as not to disturb and wake her again. At least one person in this family deserves peace.
"Back to sleep?" Lee's voice startled her, but the hand on her hip soothed her. Y/n nodded, never taking her eyes away from her girl. "Precious isn't she? So sweet when she's not fussin' about."
"She only fusses because she's teething, and she misses her father."
"Honey, you know why I'm at work longer than usual. It's for her. It's for you. It's for us. Do you know how much better her life, your life, is going to be better after I win that race?"
"But what if you don't win?"
Y/n rarely questions Lee, not even over small things, so he was confused as to why she was questioning him now. Did his wife not believe in him? She worried a lot, but when he first ran for sheriff, she was not this doubtful.
"What are you trying to say?"
"Lee, I didn't say that. It's just that people been talkin' and -"
"And you believe them? So my own wife doesn't think I'm going to win because a few people can’t got some things wrong?”
Y/n flinched as his voice got louder. The brashness of his voice woke their girl up from her attempt to fall into a deep sleep. Instead of waking up and silently looking around, the first thing that came from her was a cry. It served as a way for Y/n to escape Lee's wrath. She pulled her crying daughter into her arms and held her close to her chest. One glance at Lee's face and she knew he was going to deal with her later. But for now he just sighed and walked out of the nursery.
"Aww don't cry honey. It was just your daddy, okay? He's not mad at you sweetheart. Don't cry...don't cry," Y/n's voice cracked and tears slipped down her face. Her pleas were more for herself than they were her daughter.
Lee's hesitance to address the obvious problems he faces in regards to the election made Y/n feel uneasy. All she wanted was for her husband to just outright say he never did those things, but he never did. And if Y/n has resulted to murder, then she knows deep down that he did some of those things that people allege. There were just things that were too loud to drown out. The business when it came to solving a string of murders that happened a few years ago and people talking about him didn't affect him when he was going for re-election. There was no one else that had a strong enough presence to go against him and the folks in town figured that Lee gets enough done as far as crime goes, even though he could do more.
Y/n should be tired of trying to clean up his mess when he was so short with her. However it is not entirely his fault; he does not know. Maybe one day he'll learn and be grateful for what she has done for him.
-
Lee just couldn't stop reminding her that Sandy and Carl were coming over. It's almost as if he knew it got under Y/n's skin and used it against her after she hurt his feelings this morning. He's a sensitive one, even though he hides it well from most people, but her moment of vulnerability wasn't meant to hurt him. Though if their conversation had progressed any further, she might have spilled what she did to the brothel owner. She may want to believe Lee would be proud of her, but she cannot be so sure. It's sickening to assume that someone would be proud of a murder. She quickly began to feel dirty after a few minutes with her own thoughts ever since Lee snapped at her.
"Can you clean up? We're going to be having guests soon."
There were just a few baby toys on the floor but it was best not to make things worse with Lee (even though those toys were going to end up in the same place anyway).
Lee stepped outside as Y/n put their daughter in her high chair. Ever since her birth Lee was mindful not to smoke in the house; it was one of the house rules Y/n proposed that he was surprisingly very accepting of. She had taken away most of the things that he used to destress: alcohol, cigarettes, and candies.
She heard the motor of a car and Lee's muffled voice. She knew it was them, but hoped they were just making a short trip over. It's not like Lee likes Carl, and he's constantly complaining about his trouble making sister. Y/n hates that Sandy uses their daughter as an excuse to come over. She wouldn't mind if Sandy came alone, but she hated Carl around her little girl and she's sure Lee feels the same way.
Y/n's mother had gotten their daughter such a stupid gift when she was born. A baby that's not even half a year old yet didn't need a toy that had a million little pieces they could easily choke on, but of course it was her favorite thing to place with. Lee never cleaned up the mess, it was always Y/n who was doing it. She tried her best to pick everything up before they stepped inside but she heard the front door open. She tensed up, but she only heard the heavy footsteps of one person, and god did she hope it was Lee.
"What you doin' down there?"
Her eyes trailed up and Carl was gazing down at her. Words got caught in her throat and she clutched her hand around one of the toy pieces, the edges of it painfully digging into her palm.
"Did I scare you?"
The smirk on her face made her want to shriek. She noted that he didn't call her "darlin'" like he used to. She can only guess what Lee did to him when he "took him out back" after calling her that for a few years.
"Where's my niece?"
Y/n shot up, not caring about the toys still on the floor. She'll be damned if Carl is alone with her daughter for even a second.
Sandy came in with Lee following behind her. He gave Y/n a look of understanding, he too hoped this was going to be a short visit. The sound of Sandy fawning over her niece overtook the room. Their daughter giggled and babbled at her aunt as if she could understand her.
"Y/n go make us some ice tea."
Usually Lee doesn't command her to do things, unless he was stressed or horny. She knew her was the former by the look on his face. He was aggravated and this visit wasn't going to make him feel any better. As Y/n left the room, Sandy sat down on their couch with their daughter in her arms. Carl sat next to them, making the alarm in Lee rise.
"I got you something honey," she pulled out a little doll from her purse. It looked tattered and Lee wondered where she got it from.
"You know she already has enough dollies," Lee joked. It didn't matter to his girl, it was a new toy, "got anything for your brother?"
Sandy eyes him before pulling out a small bag of candy. She tossed it to him and he caught it, "I knew you'd ask for somethin'"
He opened it and instantly popped a sweet cherry candy into his mouth.
"Y/n's not letting me drink since the girl is so young. This is the only thing I got, even though she's on my ass about that too," Lee knew that Sandy wasn't too interested in the ins-and-outs of his everyday life but he gets tired of complaining to his deputies.
"Yea, I bet," she kept a snide comment about her sister-in-law to herself. The box of cigarettes she had calling her name we're going to have to wait. "How's that mayor race going?"
"It's going."
"Heard that whore house owner croaked," Carl's voice carried to the kitchen and Y/n paused, "found in unusual circumstances...chairs pushed up against the door...poisoned. Reckon one of those girls got tired of him holdin' them down-"
"No smoking in the house," Lee interrupted when he noticed Carl reaching for the pack of cigarettes in his shirt pocket. Carl laughed as if he wanted to challenge Lee, but his hand went back to resting on the back of the couch.
"Wouldn't want this little darlin' smellin' like a bar."
Anytime Carl spoke at or about her daughter, Y/n wanted to vomit. Carl is not nice. She wonders how twisted Sandy might be to marry someone who is awful to women and has no filter.
There was a cloud of fear over her head when Carl was around. She wishes Lee was more apprehensive but Sandy's his little sister, and he cares for her no matter how much those two causes. Things would be different if Y/n had told Lee about that time Carl pressed himself against and put his hand up the skirt of her dress. His threat would forever bounce off her skull and it only got louder when he was near. "Shut you're fucking mouth or else your husbands gonna see his slut wife bending over for another man." She was five months pregnant and had no way to defend herself. He only groped her, but she always wondered if he would've gone further if Sandy hadn't come in looking for the cooking tongs Lee told her to fetch. Sandy knew something had happened, but she said nothing. Y/n's disdain for her only grew from that day on.
Lee redirected the conversation from what Carl had started to something a bit more asinine. He didn't want to talk about something work-related because he didn't need to be stressed out any further. Reed’s death wasn't another blow to his reputation like Lee thought it would. It was going to be another unsolved murder from the way it was looking though. The people assumed one of the girls did it. The place had been emptied out; it surely looked different from when Lee was last in there. Lee was lucky that Reed was extremely disliked, unlike that preacher Roy who died some years ago. More people said "he had it coming" instead of "why isn't the sheriff doing anything?"
He laughed about it though. When he was alone in the car after leaving the crime scene, he laughed. There was no more worrying about the rumor that Sheriff Lee Bodecker beat one of his girls. When Lee did go to that place, he was never forceful. Lee could be mean towards women at times, but he was never violent.
-
If Lee was called in on a Sunday morning, then it was very important. He woke Y/n up at 5 am and kissed her out of her confused state to say goodbye. She only slept for another hour after laying her head down back on the pillow.
This morning felt so different.
The morning she woke up knowing her task was to deal with Reed, she was distracted and jumpy. But she had grown so accustomed to her guilt that it's become a comfortable feeling. Mrs. Blackwater was a more personal score to settle. That woman was throwing dirt on Lee's name, but the turmoil she caused her teenage friend would never leave her mind. Y/n had learned how cruel someone could be without physically hurting you. The boys on school grounds were annoying brats, but that woman had a truly awful mouth.
The Petersons’ daughter was over right after church. She had a wide smile on her face, happy that Mrs. Bodecker was giving her another opportunity to make some money.
"She's been a fairly good mood lately," Y/n handed her daughter off to the shorter teenage girl, "she slept through the night for once, but she's still gonna need a nap. Once she starts fussin' put her in her crib. I should be back before Lee."
Y/n wished her well and the Petersons girl wished Y/n a good time running her errands. It was comical to think of this as an errand, even though today she was going to treat it like one.
She was in Lee's nice car again meaning she was going to have to temporarily get rid of it. Y/n put much more effort into this, her haphazard plan to take out Reed could've gone horribly wrong. She spent her time snooping around town when she was out with one of her mom friends. The plan had been simple: park the car at the crowded grocery just two blocks away from the Blackwater house. The house sat at the end of the street, a bit separated from the other row of houses because of the larger amount of land they owned. It wouldn't be a problem to walk to the house seeing as others in this neighborhood do the same thing.
When her mother had made that dress for her to wear to the Spring Formal, Y/n cried, saying she was going to look like a nurse instead of "the prettiest girl in town" like Jim, the guy who asked her to the dance said. A teenage grievance had somehow come in handy almost a decade later. It was under a long coat that was a bit abnormal for this warm day.
Y/n felt sickly confident. That only thing she worried about was Lee cruising through and seeing his car in the parking lot. But the grocery store offered a great cover. The sun was covered by a thick cloud as she walked away from the grocery store and to the old Blackwater house.
That porch still looked the same. It was old and rickety, squeaking as she stepped on it, she's surprised it didn't give it away some years ago. The rocking chair Mrs. Blackwater sat on while terrorizing people was no longer there. At least her days of scaring off the newer generation of kids were over.
Y/n knocked on the door and waited. She had to knock again, and by the third time she wondered if the old lady did the job for her!
"Who is it?" The voice was much more frail, but it was that voice.
"I'm here to help!" The upturn of her voice at the end made her statement sound more like a question.
The locks on the door began to click and Mrs. Blackwater peered at her.
"You're not the one they always send."
"Oh, she's sick today! I'm just filling in for her today!" After two weeks of watching, Y/n learned what days Mrs. Blackwater's nurse came and went. She came everyday but she was absent on Sundays. It's somewhat astounding that Mrs. Blackwater didn't ask about Y/n turning up on a Sunday.
"Ahh whatever," she dismissed, unlocking the screen door, and wheeling backwards in the wheelchair that she had been relegated to a few years ago.
Y/n didn't know what to expect when she stepped inside, but it wasn't too far off from how her parent's house looked; black and white photos littering the walls and stacks of paper that probably could've been thrown away a decade ago. What is different from her parent's home is that this place is an utter mess. The nurse that usually comes to take care of her could at least tidy it up a bit. With how much she hated everything, Y/n would've assumed she hated mess too, but her home says otherwise. This lady was an absolute hoarder.
"Don't bother me," Mrs. Blackwater sniped at her. She wheeled herself next to the couch and glued her eyes to the black and white television screen.
Y/n doesn't know how many hours Mrs. Blackwater spent sitting there and watching The Andy Griffin Show. She didn't laugh when something funny happened, she just sat there still, sometimes grumbling to herself in reaction to what was happening on screen.
The least Y/n could do was tidy up a bit. It would be a kind gesture to leave her to die in a presentable place.
Mrs. Blackwater is not going to die a violent death. She was awful, but she did not deserve the brutality like someone who has done physical harm did. (If she was just a little bit braver, she would've hacked him to death, but the sight of blood makes her ill). Mrs. Blackwater was up in age, nearing her 90s, and it would be time for her to go soon anyway. Y/n dusted around the TV, one of the last things this old woman may see. All the photos of people on the walls were staring at her as she moved about cleaning the dust from the frames. So many people, many dead but most probably alive. Mrs. Blackwater had children and probably grandchildren but no one came to visit her. Her tongue was sharp, but how could no one come and visit their aging mother?
"Stop moving so damn much. Sit down girl."
The venom was still in her voice. It would never go away, at least not until she dies. This woman didn't appreciate anything and enjoyed being miserable. Y/n listened to her like that scared little teenager she used to be. She sat on the couch, a few feet away from Mrs. Blackwater who had not taken her eyes off the TV or moved at all. Y/n was spending time with a woman who was going to die at her hands today. If she's going to die then at least she's going to die doing what she loves; watching her shows and bitching out the closest person in reach.
She had only moved to grab the newspaper from the table on the other side of her. It was Friday's addition, Y/n could tell from the photo on the cover. She couldn't help but eye the old woman as she read the paper. It has been probably three hours and she hasn't even asked for anything to eat.
"People droppin' like flies in this shit hole."
Y/n's ears perked up, but she didn't say anything, she just let the lady talk.
"Leroy should know better not to do that shit here...especially with that corrupt sheriff around...would've had an easier time gettin' away with it in the city. Everyone in the city already does all that illegal shit so it probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway. Now he’s dead."
Y/n had heard that name before. She remembers vividly Lee chewing someone out on the phone and saying their name with contempt. Leroy, Leroy, Leroy. The name "Bobo" also came up in the conversation a few times. Y/n wanted to be mad at Mrs. Blackwater for referring to her husband as "corrupt" but something nagged at her to keep the conversation going for her sake.
"W-what do you mean?" Her voice cracked but it was ignored by the old woman.
"You must not be from here. Everyone knows that if you get caught up with that fat bastard sheriff you must be doin’ some awful shit. The only reason why he keeps gettin' re-elected is because everyone is scared of him. It doesn't matter how many babies that man has, he's a killer...dragging that man's body and fucking up carnations..."
No one had ever talked to Mrs. Bodecker about her husband like this. Town gossipers had the decency to wait until she left the room to say something about him. But she's not Mrs. Bodecker right now. It does not matter anyway because the old lady doesn't know what she's talking about. She hasn't spent the hours with Lee, with him being sweet and so soft with his daughter. Y/n firmly believes that if Lee did indeed kill someone then it was for a good reason. She knows her husband involves himself in dirty things, but it had to be for a good reason. Lee did not show brutality for no reason; he didn't get his rocks off on hurting innocent people.
"People can change. I'm sure he's a different man now."
"Why!? Because he got a bitch and a bastard? You are too naïve...at least the other girl they send has some more sense in her head. No man is going to want to marry a dumb girl."
An awkward silence surrounded them but it was mostly felt by Y/n. She found herself frozen with a ball of rage and anxiety in her stomach. But she had no time to dwell for much longer though.
"I'm thirsty...go make me something."
Y/n noticed Mrs. Blackwater flinching when she grabbed the remote to turn the volume higher. She either had arthritis or just pain in her hands.
"Okay...do you need to take any pills at this time?"
"My husbands gone and my children don't visit me. You think I care about taking my pills?"
Maybe Mrs. Blackwater would be kind to her if she knew Y/n was going to take her out of her misery. Breaking open the capsules and dumping it in the tea she made for her is going to do the job. She might succumb to a heart attack, or pass peacefully. The only person Y/n felt bad for was the poor nurse who was going to find her dead tomorrow morning.
-
Lee was able to leave his shift earlier than expected. Sundays are very quiet, the only thing he got up to was paperwork at the station. He could go home early to his wife, play with the girl while Y/n makes dinner, and get a nice ride from his wife while their daughter sleeps. Y/n said something about needing him to pick up some chicken stock from the grocery store.
People filled in and out of the grocery store as the sun began to set. A few people spoke to him, never for too long knowing that he's not fond of small talk. But more people being friendly with him was a good sign. Even without his sweet wife next to him, no one shied away from saying hello to the man running for Mayor.
Two boxes of chicken stock should be enough even though his wife sent him for three. The brand she likes isn’t exactly cheap. Lee promptly made his way to the cashier who greeted him with a smile.
"Good evening sheriff!" her voice was sweet and she batted her eyes a few times. Lee offered her a smile, but a small laugh escaped. This girl couldn't be younger than 20 but she fawned over him like a young school girl. Her behavior reminded him of Y/n when she was that age. "Darlene said she saw your car in the parking lot but didn't get a chance to catch Mrs. Bodecker herself."
Lee stopped caring about the items (a few snuck in there for him) being rung up. His brows furrowed and the girl realized that she had said something maybe she shouldn't have.
"My wife was here?"
"That's what Darlene said. Her shift ended right as I was coming in so I wasn't there when it happened...do you still want the chicken stock?"
"Yea yea just ring it up."
Lee's mind was too preoccupied with the weird behavior his wife has been exhibiting for the last several weeks. She often hovered over him when he was on the phone like she was interested in what he was talking about. All the swearing and terms she didn't understand kept her from asking what his loud, and often abrasive, phone conversations were about. But now she was listening a little too hard for his liking.
The only time Y/n was supposed to drive their car is if Lee told her she could or if there was an emergency. A trip to the grocery store did not fall under either of those categories. But it was particularly weird to him that she would go to the store when she told him to go himself. If she had forgotten something, she would have not hesitated to call the station. Something was up with her.
Everything felt normal as he stepped into the house. The smell of what she was cooking hit his nose and the familiar noises of his daughter babbling louder than the Y/n moving around the kitchen. If he had no questions for his wife, then he'd feel all warm inside walking into his home in this current state.
Y/n was talking to their daughter as if she was holding a real conversation with her. Their daughter started squealing when she saw Lee appear in the doorway. He put his index finger to his lips to tell her to quiet herself, but she was only louder.
"I couldn't believe it either! They said the hairdresser purposefully dyed Marie's hair darker," she spoke, thinking her daughter was just squealing because she was talking to her and not because her husband was creeping up behind her.
Hands snaked around her waist and she nearly jumped. "Oh yea? Is that what the town is gossipin' about today?" Lee's familiar voice soothed her and she turned around in his arms. She deftly kissed him and looked up at him.
"Wanna know what else I heard?" He whispered to her. Y/n nodded, a smile spreading on her face as she rested her forehead against his, "heard the sheriff's wife been out and about and driving his nice car."
Y/n's smile fell from her face, but it only made Lee smile wider.
"You wanna tell me what you were doing out?"
"I needed something from the store."
"So my task to pick up the chicken stock after work was for nothing?"
"No...I went to my parents house...didn't want to go empty-handed. You know how my mother gets."
What a sweet little liar.
But she still had the smell of an old house lingering around her so maybe it wasn’t completely a lie. Still, he knew something was up with her.
“How was work?” She quickly tried to change the subject. Lee was not really in the mood to interrogate her, it was Sunday after all. He sat down in the chair next to his daughter's high chair. She started reaching for his hat but he was too far away, so Lee rested his head on the tray and let her have her fun. Y/n was probably going to be mad at him for putting his head where she eats and getting all of his “outside germs” all over it, but he didn’t care.
“I’m tired,” he confessed, a heavy sigh escaping him, “I’m really fucking tired.”
Y/n wishes she could lift more of her husband’s burdens. Killing people who were talking about him did not get rid of the core problem. Sometimes she wishes he never decided to run for mayor. Life was so much more comfortable when he would run unopposed for county sheriff. Instead her husband had a bigger dream. From the very beginning she felt like it was a long shot that this would be successful, but they had gotten so far in changing how most of the people viewed Lee. And even though they felt a way about him, they still respected the sheriff.
“It’s going to be over soon. I promise.”
He truly wanted to believe her, but the sinking feeling that the past was going to catch up with him was not going away.
We'll meet again... (Hajime Hinata x Reader)
Warnings: Angst, death, mentions of hanging, mentions of sl/t throat
Mod Ibuki: This is a little something @call-me-ko and I wrote together! It's based off of Chapter 4 of SDR2. Y/N takes Ibuki's place in the murder. I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Two lovers laid in eachothers' arms. Hajime Hinata, his ultimate unknown, and Y/N L/N, the ultimate Y/T.
Hajime's eyes fluttered open. He winced at the bright light. When his eyes adjusted, he turned his head to look at his sleeping lover. He took his right hand that was around Y/N to their hair, gently stroking their head.
Hajime slowly stopped, placing the fingertips of his other hand on their forehead. After feeling an unnatural temperature, he pressed his lips against their forehead to double check. After a moment, Hajime retracted his head back.
That's not good...
"S/O...hey." Hajime gently shook their shoulder. Y/N opened their eyes silently. They looked up at Hajime, receiving a comforting smile in return.
"Hey...morning." Hajime whispered, looking for any trace of sickness in their features. Y/N blinked. "Good morning. How are you?" They asked stiffly. Hajime winced. "I'm...okay. How are you?" Y/N patted his chest. "I feel fine. We should go to the dining hall. Everyone is waiting."
With that, Y/N stood up. Their face remained stoic. Hajime placed a hand at the small of their back.
"You have a fever...are you sure? Maybe you should just lie down and I'll tell the others you aren't feeling well." Hajime offered. Y/N shook their head.
"I am fine. There's no need to worry."
He should've known
He should've known
If he pushed a little harder, he wouldn't be in this position.
He wouldn't have to see his lover dangling from a rope around their neck with a bag on their head.
Tumblr media
"I-I c-can't...I need air." Hajime muttered. Everyone nodded in understanding.
Hajime pushed through the double doors and slowly pushed down the wall. He buried his face in his knees and began sobbing. He felt as if he couldn't breathe.
His significant other. His sweet, harmless significant other.
Hajime would never get that image out of his head.
With a deep breath, Hajime stood up. He walked back into the music venue with a sigh.
Y/N's body was no longer on the support beam. Gundham, Kazuichi, and Fuyuhiko had helped laid the body down while the others occupied themselves investigating Hiyoko's body.
"I didn't even notice Hiyoko died too.." Hajime thought. A pair of fingers snapped in front of him.
"Hey, I'm sorry." Fuyuhiko said apatheticly. He looked down at this shoes. "We all cared about them. I have no clue who did it." He added. Hajime didn't respond, just stared at Y/N. Their face was hidden by Mikan examining them.
"So what happened?" Hajime asked bluntly. Fuyuhiko looked taken aback, but quickly recovered. "They were strangled beforehand. That's really all we know. And that's it's warm as fuck in here...can someone turn down the damn heat!?" Fuyuhiko yelled.
"No! It may pertain to the investigation!" Nagito walked out of the storage room. "It makes it harder to investigate the body, we can't determine a time of death because of the temperature. Leave it, please." Nagito ordered. Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes. "Of fucking course. Because this can't be easy."
Tumblr media
Soon enough, it was time for the trial.
"I think it's best to assume the murder weapon is the rope." Nagito started.
"This is real..." Hajime mumbled. "Hajime, you want justice for Y/N, right?" Chiaki asked calmly. Hajime looked up and nodded. "Of course I do." Chiaki nodded in response. "Then we need to get through this trial. Give yourself closure and make Y/N proud." Hajime took a shaky breath and nodded.
"Make Y/N proud..." Hajime whispered to himself. "...I won't let you down."
Tumblr media
"Then the killer must have gotten the bag from the theater!" Hajime exclaimed. Everyone nodded in agreement. "This proves Y/N didn't commit a murder-suicide." Nagito responded. "H-How?" Mikan questioned.
"Because that bag was a limited item. It was buy one, get one, that was that. And I know for a fact Y/N never went to the theater." Hajime explained. He looked over at your stand, expected a smile for making a good point. He felt a pang in his chest when all he was met with was your portrait.
Mikan let out an exasperated sigh under her breath. "That brings us down to who watched the movie motive, right?" Kazuichi asked. Hajime nodded. "...Then who watched the motive video?" Gundham added. Everyone looked at eachother.
"Well, shit." Fuyuhiko cursed. "We all know that no one is gonna fess up. So-" "We're stuck." Hajime finished. Fuyuhiko nodded in agreement.
Everyone stood silent, contemplating their next move.
"I think I may be able to help you."
All heads turned to the 9th podium.
"Y-Y/N?" Hajime mumbled. Y/N sent him a smile.
"The one and only." Their attire returned back to their uniform, not the hospital gown they died in. Everything seemed normal...then Hajime looked at the hand that gripped the podium.
"W-What happened to your hand?" Hajime stuttered. Y/N raised their arm, examining it. It was black and silver, evidently metal. Y/N sighed. "Accident, that's not import-"
"HOW THE HELL ARE YOU ALIVE!?" Mikan screeched. "Mikan?" Akane asked, confusion evident in her tone. "I WATCHED THE LIGHT GO OUT IN YOUR EYES. HOW ARE YOU HERE?! I DON'T U-UNDERSTAND!" Mikan screamed. Her eyes began swirling. "Can you stop screaming? It's annoying." Nagito said, a scoff following the statement. Mikan snapped her head in his direction. "Annoying? Well, I think you'd have the same reaction if you put yourself in my shoes." Mikan said darkly, her tone dropping to a near hum.
Hajime scowled. "Was that a confession?" He asked. Mikan smiled. "I suppose there is no hiding it now...yes, it was." Fuyuhiko's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "What the hell has gotten into you?" He growled. "Chick's lost it, that's what!" Akane responded.
Mikan let out a sigh. It had sounded like she had been dreaming. "My beloved wanted them...Hiyoko just happened to walk in as I was committing the crime." She paused. "IT'S NOT MY FAULT! MY BELOVED WANTED THEM! SO FORGIVE ME!" Mikan screamed. Everyone jumped. Y/N glared at Mikan. "There you go...mine and Hiyoko's killer. Hajime, can you please end this?" Hajime gazed at them. Y/N sent a comforting smile his way, as if telling him that he could do it. Hajime nodded. "So here's what happened..."
Hajime spent a few moments giving a rundown of the murder. From how Y/N was strangled to how Hiyoko had her throat slit.
"Isn't that right, Mikan Tsumiki, the Ultimate Nurse?" Hajime finished. Mikan giggled. "Just let me see my beloved already~"
Mikan was dragged off to her execution. Y/N stood behind Hajime, their real hand in his shoulder.
Hajime swung around and embraced them, sobbing into their shoulder. Hajime cradled their head with one of his hands. Y/N held him close and whispered hushed assurances.
"I-I'm so sorry! I should've forced you to stay. I-If I did, t-then we would get out together. I-I'm so s-sorry-"
"You'll see them again." Hajime looked up from Y/N's shoulder, face red from crying. He was met with himself, except one eye was red. Everyone looked at the three in confusion.
"W-What?" Hajime questioned weakly. The man repeated himself. "I know how much it hurts, I am you afterall. You will see them again, don't worry." 'Hajime' explained. 'Hajime' placed a hand on Y/N's unoccupied shoulder. He gently tugged them back. 'Hajime' took their hand, lacing their fingers together.
"I love you, Hajime. Don't forget that." Y/N said. They gave him one last smile and seemingly disappeared with the other Hajime.
"...I love you too, Y/N. Forever and always."
Tall man gets love
Description : Mori was always with Honey. But what happens when they split up for a bit, thankfully Mori will always have his family to help him.
Or in other words, Ouran High School Host Club is perfect for agere stuff and there’s not enough of it on here.
This was my first OHSHC fic and it took me a while to get the courage to write thing but I’m pretty impressed with it. This was very inspired by DannyFANtom and Mcschnuggles who have awesome fics, I really recommend checking them out.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/30654551
Mori was walking the halls looking as if he was in some kind of trance. He looked lost, and confused. As if his mind was off somewhere else. He couldn't find Honey and that made him a little... nervous.
They were always together.
He could feel his mind start to get... fuzzier. It was slowly getting harder to focus on stuff. He tried to remember where he was and where his cousin was but, nothing came to his mind.
So there he was, roaming the hallways after school hours looking for Honey. He vaguely remembers him having to get something from class but he should've been back by now.
That's when his eyes landed on it.
Music room 3.
He gasped. He knew this room! Mori quickly walked towards the music room, taking shaky steps. He was having a hard time focusing on anything. Especially walking.
He felt his mind begging him to be small. It's been a little while which he knew wasn't good.
He tried to regress at least once a week but missed the last few weeks.
The only person who knew was his cousin, Honey. He watched him when he felt small and always took care of him. Kind of like a caregiver...
Mori slowly opened the door trying to be as quiet as possible.
Thankfully all the guests had gone.
Unfortunately, the other hosts where there.
Mori attempted to enter as quietly as possible, not wanting to cause attention to himself, sadly, this never worked.
"Hey, Mori-Senpai!" Haruhi called to him, smiling at him with a little wave. The other hosts smiled and greeted him as well. He smiled a small sad smile at her.
His mouth quivered a bit.
His day had been so stressful so far and he hadn't seen Honey in a long time.
So it's not a surprise that he couldn't keep the tears that fell down his face. His lip quivered as more came.
Seeing all his friends so happy to see him made him want to slip even more.
As hard as he tried, he couldn't help it.
The usually quiet man sat down and put his face in his hands as he cried. The other hosts looked confused and went over to him.
This was concerning since they’ve never seen him like this. So... sad. It was very out of character since usually they would be lucky to get any reaction out of him. He was a man of few words.
"Mori-Senpai. What's wrong?"
"Why are you crying?"
"Where's Honey-Senpai?"
All these questions were beginning to get too much for him.
Mori removed his hands from his face and put them to cover his ears. He tried to block out the noise. His eyes shut tight.
Without him knowing, he felt a gentle hand pressed against his shoulder. Mori gently opened his eyes to see Tamaki placing a hand on his shoulder.
Tamaki was looking down on him, smiling a comforting and reassuring smile to him.
Mori felt himself get calmer. He could feel the tears slowing down as he sniffled. He rubbed his eyes and that's when another hand passed him a tissue.
Looking up again he saw Kyoya with the same type of comforting and reassuring smile that Tamaki had.
Mori wiped his nose and his eyes. He stopped crying. They could tell he was trying to go back to his neutral expressionless face but was struggling a significant amount.
“Senpai? Are you any better?” Haruhi asked him calmly. He gently nodded.
“Why were you so upset before?” Hikaru asked him.
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him like that before.” Kaoru said, nodding in agreement.
Mori only sniffled and wiped his nose a bit.
Even if the other didn’t notice of it right away. Haruhi definitely did. The way he was acting and his expression. As if he was thinking about something else, his mind far away. She doesn’t know why but... he looked so... innocent in her eyes. Almost like a child...
No one was expecting what happened next...
Mori felt so safe at this moment with his family surrounding him that he clung into the closest person.
This, of course, was Tamaki.
He couldn’t help it when he wrapped his arms around the blond and tried to hide his face in his chest. At this point he had fully slipped.
And Tamaki, being the great friend that he is, didn’t hesitate to wrap his arms around him in a loving embrace and whisper soft things into his ear to calm him down.
All the other hosts looked a little confused, but Tamaki made it seem like an every day thing. Comforting him as if he’s done it a thousand times.
Being in the arms of the blonde, it didn’t take him long to calm down. His was no longer freaking out, but even so, he didn’t want to leave his friends embrace.
Out of embarrassment or fear of freaking out again, he wasn’t sure.
That is until another certain blonde came through the door.
Honey looked very worried and concerned.
“Takashi!” He yelled running over to him. Immediately he wrapped his arms around his neck. Mori gently broke off from Tamaki and wrapped his arms around his cousin.
“Mitsukuni...” He mumbled into his hair.
“Is that the reason he got to upset earlier? Because he wasn’t with Honey-Senpai?” Hikaru asked them.
“Yes, I had to go back to my class really fast so I could get one of my books I forgot and I told Takashi to wait for me by the window. He must’ve slipped and forgot about it, so he got scared. I’m just glad he found you guys. Thanks for watching and taking good care of him Tama-Chan!” Honey thanked them smiling gleefully.
Instead of smiling back, the others were rightfully confused.
“Why do you mean Mori-Senpai slipped?”
“Yeah and he’s been away from you before Honey-Senpai, why did it make him so sad now?” The twins asked one after the other.
Tamaki was surprisingly quiet and Kyoya was just waiting for an explanation. He was quite intrigued.
However, before anyone could say anything, Haruhi was the only one to notice what was actually going on.
“Mori-Senpai, how old are you?” She asked gently and softly. She lowered and softened it as if she was talking to a child, which she had a feeling that she was.
Honey gasped then smiled, in all honesty he wasn’t very surprised that Haruhi was the one to figure it out first.
Mori put up three fingers, before switching to two.
Kyoya’s eyes went wide.
He understood now.
“How long have you been?...” He asked, like Haruhi he had softened his voice. He sounded calming and concerned. He really was the mom of the group.
“For a few months now. I help him and watch over him so he doesn’t get hurt.” Honey explained.
“Would you guys please just tell us what you’re talking about? It makes no sense!” Tamaki exclaimed trying not to be too loud since he was right beside Mori.
“Is it ok if I tell them?” Honey asked. Once receiving a head nod from his cousin, he started his explanation.
Mori figured they’d want an explanation anyways, why not just tell them everything.
After all, they were a family.
No.
Wait.
They were his family.
“Takashi is a little.” Honey told them. Mori nodded.
The twins looked confused for a sec before figuring out what he meant.
“A little what?” Tamaki asked.
Everyone started laughing.
Even though it wasn’t that funny, they all thought it was.
“No, Senpai, what he means is that he regresses. To deal with stress.” Haruhi explained to him.
Ohhhhhhh.
It took Tamaki a few seconds before the realization hit him like a truck.
“Ohhhh. Awwww.” He couldn’t help but coo. He vaguely remembered them talking about that and he always thought it was absolutely adorable, and has even considered trying it once or twice but reprimanded himself because it was ‘too childish’. He’d spent so much time trying to convince himself that he shouldn’t, he kinda forgot about it all together.
“Why didn’t he tell us in the first place?” Kaoru asked.
“Probably because he was afraid. Which is understandable, this stuff can be very personal to some people.” Kyoya explained to him who nodded.
“Well now that we do know, if you ever need someone to watch you, we’ll always be available.” Tamaki offered, smiling at the little.
Not used to getting so much attention, Moi started blushing a bit. He didn’t know why he was so nervous to tell his friends, no, his family something like this.
He must’ve been pretty silly if he thought that they would mock him or judge him for this.
“Thank you! I know he doesn’t really express it often, but I know he’s very happy to have you guys as friends and that are willing to help him.” Honey told them. And in all honesty, he was happy too. Happy that his friends were so open and accepting for them.
“Well we’re a family, families help each other. Now, how about we get some snacks, I bet everyone’s a little hungry.” Tamaki suggested. They others all agreed and started making their way towards the food.
Mori and Honey walked hand in hand. Like they should be.
“I’m sorry I left you alone when you were small. I promise it won’t happen again.” Honey apologized. He felt a little guilty about it.
“Iss ok.” Mori said softly. It wasn’t like his usual voice. This one definitely made him sound like a child.
They smiled at each other before joining the others.
Mori was glad he told them.
And now, he felt closer to them than ever before.
