what do you think of people who don't see will as a main character? i've found my first on tumblr:

this is less a comment on how they wrote will than his overall meaning in the narrative. even without the whole noah confirmation that will is BACK and BIG in s5, why do you think so many people, including GA, couldnt pick up on will's importance?

i recall first watching the show in s1 2016. even before ship wars existed, even before i knew about 'byeler' as it was called, i felt in my soul that will was important. there was a magic about him! he felt so intriguing and special. i even wrote in my journal that 'will byers is an iconic figure'. i have that old journal somewhere, and there's no elaboration! just that one sentence! haha

will was so mystical and powerful to me. i am not queer and did not pick up on this part of him, at least consciously, until s3. but something about him i adored and he mattered to me. these viewers who don't see will as important... do you think they truly missed the point of the show? if so, its a shame, but theyre very adamant that it's others who are missing the point and that we're not supposed to care for will, and i just can't see how that would ever be something the creators would want for any of their original characters. + will isn't an extra, or even a secondary character despite his lack of screentime because the heart of the story and narrative hinges around him. he is subtextually, implicitly important - this is storytelling 101!

(many of these will-indifferents also want fics of mike where will is only background/not important, even though they see mike as gay. they want a s5 gay mike arc, but where will doesnt figure in it, and i dont understand how that can make sense in this show when mike and will have always been part of each other's lives, even as friends???)

I honestly cannot understand Stranger Things fans who don't like Will. Or view him as non-important. Yeah, even though he was in so little season one, he is sooooooo so vital and if you don't care about that little boy, what are you doing here? The show failed you and its purpose. I cared so much from the moment he ran from that monster and disappeared, hooked for life on this silly little show. Will did that! Plot device? Sure, of course. All characters are plot devices to an extent. But to say that's all he is? We learn so much about who he is from little snippets in s1, he's a real character. Sure, we care about the story of finding him, but why do we care? Defined haunting the narrative. That's so sad if people only see him as this afterthought to move the story along.

Did people not watch season 2? I can kiiiiiind of get what people meant if we were thrown back in time to pre-s2 times and we only know what we know and as a casual watcher, maybe you just saw the show and didn't think too deep. (Not me, I loved Will and was looking forward to what else was in store with him after that s1 cliffhanger with the slug, are you kidding??? How interesting!) How can you still view Will this way after season2?

I think these people missed the point of the show. Truly. Surface level watching, I honestly don't know. I can excuse the fandom colloquial and snarky read of the "GA" because these are just people who like the show but with everything they like, it's not deeper thinking. Still goofy how they miss so many points I feel are blatant in the show, but a lot of people barely absorb what they're watching ("omg I love ST, Dustin and Steve are so funny haha I hope they bring Eddie back haha the show is so scary haha") <- like that's honestly how randos sound.

The fandom fandom people who are actively on sites like tumblr and into actual fan shit??? How do you hate Will if you're not a milkvan stan? Why?? What is the reason to care about a Mike sexuality storyline and think it has nothing to do with Will?????? Whose arc thus far has that play a huge role in his character? They are so entwined. Just say you're a FW stan and stop pretending to be anything deeper, that's totally fine, but just admit that. The rest of us aren't crazy for analyzing deeper and understanding the point of the show - that Will has always been and will always be the heart of the storyline. Season 5 gonna be a huge wake up call for a lot of people. But I try not to think about or indulge those people too often. Stay positive, ignore dumbass interpretations and takes. We know what and who are important.

Half Life has rewired my brain

Half Life's 25th has completely shattered the notion that these games are just a fun interest i have and enjoy 100%ing and has proven its a full on hyperfixation. The energy has been steadily building ever since the announcement a few days ago, and now that its the 19th, i feel like im going insane. These games mean SO much. Theyre so interesting. The characters are so fun. The expanded world is so neat. I too have felt the pain of Half Life's cliffhanger.

This anniversary update feels fake. This is so much more than i expected. Of course theyd celebrate their big hitter turning 25, but a whole update to the original game? Thats so much MORE. They made Uplink easily accessible! People can play Uplink whenever they want now! They added new MULTIPLAYER MAPS?? They updated the game for new systems and the Steam Deck so more people can play it! (And theyre phasing out HL:Source as the 'main' version and hiding its visibility on steam, LMAO)

These images feel fake. But theyre real! And it feels incredible! I never thought id see the day.

Starting about a year ago i went on a quest to 100% every Half Life game and mod that existed and had steam achievements. I love 100%ing games, and Half Life seemed like an easy answer. And the games just.. grew on me. I was already a fan of Portal, and i had played the full HL series for the first time in one big sitting a few years before. But this made me dive DEEP into the series. and i LOVE it. it makes me go crazy. Ive put so much time into these games. I got The One Free Bullet in HL2E1 on my first playthrough. I did the Gnome run in HL2E2. I started a Gnome run in Alyx as my first playthrough (although i havent played that in a while, VR is exhausting, but i want to get back to it so i can play the other VR mods) I got the Hat AND Pizza achievement at the SAME TIME in Black Mesa. Ive 100%'d Portal and Portal 2's challenge chambers, Entropy Zero and 2 on hard, all sorts of things. These games have grabbed me. My profile is dedicated to displaying the hardest HL achievements i have. and im so happy to have this one on display now too. To honor this silly, wonderful series.

I got no clue how to answer this one but I do want to say I dont think there was an all knowing moment I think they are just happy together and make life joyful for the other and inspire the other to be better and grow and thats enough

I think Angel always wanted a baby, but didn't know how Grusha felt so he never brought it up + they're already raising their little siblings so it felt like a tricky subject. So, he's pretty happily surprised when Grusha actually does bring up that he wants to be a dad. Also important to me cause shows a lot of healing in Grusha too...

I feel like they both kinda bring it up but in different ways ? Hydie is more subtle and points out lots of baby things in stores or mentions the families around them etc etc Leon eventually is the one to actually ask about it

11. Who's adorable when they're sleepy, and who gets grumpy and irritable

I dont like how this question is worded i dont think any of them are adorable per say

I think if anything Angel can be a little silly tired, but he's usually just groggy and zones out a lot. Grusha seems like he would be either cranky or really sad when he's tired.

Hydie might either be a tad snappy or very spacey depending. Leon i think doesn't change much I think he is good at hiding when he is very tired minus the several yawns.

12. Who's more protective

Grusha lala... i think he gets overly worried at times. Angel cares too but I think Grusha's experiences made him prone to really worry about the safety of those he cares about. He usually sends one of his Pokemon with Angel whenever he heads down the mountain just for that extra security. Keeps Angel safer but also so Grusha doesn't have to worry...as much.

Both Leon and Hydie are super protective of the other haha... I think they are both willing to sacrifice themselves for the other. Leon feels he has to do things on his own to protect Hydie though, but Hydie isn't having any of that lol. Hydie is very much a uses his body to shield Leon kinda guy, either very apparently (jumping in front of him when there's an angry Pokemon) or not so much (walking so he's between the street and Leon).

13. How do they express their feelings

Angel and Grusha both like to make the other laugh to express their love... they tease each other a lot too. Whenever they get time for just the two of them they enjoy every moment, and even if family is there they still do little things to feel closer. They are almost always holding the others hand when they're out and about on errands lala.

At home they show care and love a lot too by taking care of each other the best they can. Like i juuust said Grusha often has one of his pokemon go with angel when he goes off to work on art to make sure he stays safe. Angel makes sure Grusha eats well and always has a dish he likes at meals. When Grusha moves in, Angel invests in a lot of small things to make Grusha's life easier since he's disabled.

They get each other promise rings too when Grusha moves in...i dont wanna write it all out rn but felt like an important bit about how they express love.

Hydie and Leon just love to have fun together, making the other smile just makes them feel very loved I think.

They take the time to listen to each other and even dabble in the others interests as a way to get to know them better and feel more connected. Leon takes up gardening for Hydie so they can work on their garden together, meanwhile Hydie learns more about Pokemon battling so he can battle with and against Leon. He's not very good but I'm sure they make for a very annoying double battle with Leon's heavy hits and Hydie's status effects.

They do spend lots of time together though, pick each other up from work if they're able, go on evening walks, etc etc. I think they are just casually very lovely dovey haha. You can feel the lil hearts around them when they are together.

14. Where would they go on a 3 am adventure

Angel and Grusha live on Glaseado mountain and its always snowing so I think a 3 am adventure might be dangerous for them. If anything they might go to the convenience store, they don't want to leave home too long since their lil brothers also live there and might need them.

Hydie and Leon might go just about anywhere lmao. They might be out camping, or walking in the empty streets and looking at the stars. Maybe at the park on the swings and just laughing and playing. I think its nice for Leon to be out like that and not worry about being flooded by people...even if the two are sleepy the next day its worth it.

17. Who picks flowers for the other

Grusha would pick flowers for Angel I think if they are out and about... in general Grusha does like to buy Angel flowers a lot too. Angel likes to paint the flowers Grusha buys him, he probably has a sketchbook for tbat specifically haha.

They like to have picnics when they can and relax, so I can imagine Grusha putting flowers in Angel's hair, too...Angel probably returns the favor.

Both ! Leon really likes getting Hydie bouquets while Hydie likes to bring home picked flowers for Leon+ cuttings from the garden for them both to enjoy

Ok im editing in Grushangel. I dont think its necessarily info dumping but when Grusha is okay with it again (therapy yay) he probably watches a lot more sports and Angel watches with him even if its not really his thing, its fun and he loves what it means to Grusha.

Grusha would listen to Angel talk about art stuff too, not so much heart eyes but he would come to adore Angel's passion for the arts. It rubs off on him a bit and he gets into knitting haha.

ford - the og boys. they're made for each other in that they're both fucking insane. i hate these freaks /pos. i like the idea of them having met in college. maybe they dated, maybe they didnt. i like both options. ford has 2 hands. i think after lucrecia joined the psychic 7, they startrd drifting apart which only intensified as more people joined and ford was the leader so everyone wanted to hang out with him, leading to him having less and less time for the og :( but i think that even when they dont talk much, they still have that innate comfortableness when being around each other. like. even just doing regular stuff together feels easy & effortless? but also i think they reconnect post-game!!! hooray for friendship!!!

lucrecia - my personal hc is that they met on an exchange trip in high school bc i dont think otto's grulovian, but i honestly also rly like the idea of them being childhood friends. goated hc. but anyway yeah they're also besties sobs…. on the surface, lucrecia is the calm yhat balances out otto's…. ottoness, but once you get to know her better, shes also insane. idk i dont rly have a lot of thoughts to put into words with these 2 but theyre BESTIES!!!!

cassie - they butt heads obviously, but theyre close methinks. i hc that cassie was the first to join the psy7 after the initial trio, so with ford and lucy too busy canoodling, i think they ended up hanging out a lot. i think cassie is good at pulling otto back down to earth when he gets too lost in the sauce and starts overcomplicating things compton - i think compton is truly the one person in the psychic 7 who being with is actually. quiet. calm. whatever. for otto. cause with everyone else its always high energy - even cassie, whos usually the calm, down to earth one of the group who grounds a dynamic, her personality happens to clash with otto's so they bicker a lot. but compton's gentle nature is a good match for those times where the Introversion hits otto. i think parallel play is their primary form of hanging out. also i think they both struggle with sleeping (otto cause adhd and compton cause anxiety) and it's just like an unspoken agreement between them that when one of them cant sleep they can always come talk. ALSO. i hc that compton also has somewhat of a knack for science (he helped build the gpc and astralathe 100%) so theyre scientist with the mind of an artist x artist with the mind of a scientist. amen. i love electric sheep

bob - my hc for them is pretty much the same as the commonly accepted fan interpretation. 10/10, no notes. theyre stoner buddies and i think they may have kissed a little. and maybe even…. no, i shant say. i listen to for forever from dear evan hansen and goodbye ms flower thief while thinking about them and just sit there feeling utterly despondent

in short, yeah! it feels different, and both have certain advantages and disadvantages.

with George's fangs being shorter, there is never a need to worry that he could bite too deep, so when George feeds from him, especially from the neck, it's a lot easier, not to mention the bite marks heal much faster (and while Dream would deny it, he has a slight preference to George because his pain tolerance is terrible.)

on the other hand, Sapnap's fangs, if he gets carried away, leave deeper wounds that take much longer to heal and are the main reason why Dream's often seen with gauze/bandaids on his neck after a feeding session. Sapnap has to be a lot more gentle with him because of that, but Dream appreciates being treated like a princess.

I really like the headcanon(?) that vampires have something in their saliva that helps the bite inflicted wounds heal quicker, so when the two finish they make sure to lick the wounds clean to help speed up the healing process.

last but not least, I think it's important to mention that while the two leave marks behind, they are rarely anything worse than, say, a papercut, or a cut one might get while cooking. that's not to say that they don't possess the strength that would allow them to clamp down and possibly tear Dream's throat out, if they really wanted to, with their supernatural strength.

I think I mentioned it before, but Sapnap and George are actually Really Fucking Old, with George pushing 200 years of age and Sapnap only 2-3 decades younger. they've known each other for a long time and they got a house together back in the 1890s with all of the newest technology available, like plumbing and electricity and all that good stuff, and they have not stopped renovating to keep up with the ages since. I couldn't help myself when the "vampire mansion" trope was just there for the taking, so yeah, the boys have a house, and it's quite something.

as of the rest, supernatural creatures (in this instance vampires, I vaguely remember considering involving were-creatures as well) coexist with humans. I'm not particularly comfortable (and definitely not qualified) writing fantasy racism, so this AU will definitely stay in the realms of "yeah they are just normal citizens, they just happen to be immortal and eat human blood, thankfully blood donations are possible now". them coexisting offers a lot of funny or cute moments, too. like a late night walk and Sapnap grabbing some AB blood snack from a nearby vending machine.

Sapnap and George both have jobs, though I'm leaving them vague as of right now. I think Sapnap working as a vampire streamer could be really funny, meanwhile George could have graduated from comp-sci some good 50 years ago and be still involved in that. (I still imagine he was involved in the late 19th century haute cotoure though. maybe that's what lead him to the US?)

Dream doesn't really tell many people about it, not directly. when asked about anything he says he's living with his two friends, no need to get into the details though. Quackity and Karl know and bully him about it in the way one would bully their best friend for getting a boyfriend. the sugarbaby part is more likely to be frowned upon than his glucose guardians being supernatural.

heck yeah I love all these vampire tropes! I've read at some point that the "not seeing reflections" thing is most likely due to mirrors being made of silver back in the day, so going off of that, now that modern mirrors exist they can see themselves just fine. doesn't mean they didn't keep some silver mirror(s) around their mansion to mess with their guests. it also brings up the possibility of dream wearing a silver chain around SNF when he's angry with them. (applies to the whole garlic thing too. Dream would definitely spite eat garlic bread.)

I also love the idea of modern vampires using really strong sunscreen and wearing gloves/face masks/sunglasses/large hats to hide from the sun. George likes to go overboard with those sometimes.

that's up to the reader! I know people who are very much Not into shipping, and that's totally valid, so if they want to see them as three bros hanging out, that's cool! same for people who wanna read it as the three being in a polyamorous relationship. I don't wanna make anything explicitly romantic, and if I ever do, I don't plan on making it something so relevant to any plot that it can't be overlooked by those who aren't into it (y'know like the three getting married would be a big deal, so I wouldn't count on that). so yeah, if you wanna go for the boyfriends take on the au, I very much support that, but it's not a must.

i think you deleted the post where u were asking about how to title fics but i was 3/4th the way through before i realized so im sending an ask. idk if you still want this, but i gotta dump this SOMEWHERE, so now you're stuck with multiple examples of how to title a fic from my own personal experiences. this gives me an excuse to ramble about them a bit. im sorry

okay but really here's the tldr before i start; i only go for lyrics when i really like the song/line and it fits with a central idea, but ultimately? i bullshit it--but with intricate methods. let us begin...

example 1) rolling with a theme

let me start with one of my favorite fics im writing to get me going. the title: do you remember hanging up the stars. this process was honestly very tedious, but im gonna try and put it in a simple format.

so rolling with a theme. this fic is a canon divergence au, where hell is slightly more competent and kicks crowley out of his flat and replaces him with shax like a month after the appcalypse. so pretty quickly! therefore, this throws crowley very off-kilter, thus resulting in aziraphale picking up the very obvious hints and deciding to Make crowley move in with him instead of Talking about it. its a longfic, and i knew from the start that i wanted this title to be grand And related. so, i made a list of the themes that would be explored.

- crowley and his relationship with the stars

- trust in multiple facets (humans and their competence, their trust in each other now that theyre unemployed and recovering, etc)

- non-verbal communication, despite its flaws, can be one of the best ways to show love

- romance manifesting in different forms but are all valid

so i have that list, and i pick the one that's the most important--for this, i chose the stars. then i diffused THAT--what about the stars makes it interesting? what makes crowley long for them so much? i chose distance--crowley, in the show, has a very dettached attitude towards his angelic self. he doesnt hold that self to any higher importance, because why should he? and yeah, he's valid in this, but he also ends up putting off his stars to that angel, not him. he thinks that because he took such pride, such responsibility for them Before, he shouldn't care now, that he should deny this part of hid past and make himself more miserable because of it. but he does want to take pride, he loved AND loves them so fucking much, and he's just hurting himself more the process. i want him to realize that his mark on the world shouldn't be a burden, shouldnt just be a silly little assignment from before the fall. that heaven wants him to forget, that hell wants him to be disgusted by it, that he's doing what they want. that, if fact, it would piss everyone off if he actually owned up to it. i want aziraphale to help him realize it. i want aziraphale to encourage him. so that's where the title comes in: "he looked at you like you were hanging the stars", but Tweaked. taking a kind of common line and twisting it so it fits This. so. wow i went on tangent. im sorry. the rest will be a lot shorter and actualy helpful 😭 the point is that you could treat the title as a summary but even SHORTER. goes with what sounds right, and also don’t think about it too much. OKAY MOVING ON

example 2) rolling with a theme (song lyric edition)

okay next example. title: hold me like you’re scared to. it’s a lyric from the song ‘use me like you do’ by noah floersch. it’s a titanic ‘au’ (don’t judge me please 🥹) about aziraphale and crowley on the boat and getting through millennium of fear of being together while also on a detective noir like adventure. themes are easier to see here: the fear of being caught. afraid of showing your love. and I’d already happened to have a song I really liked, but I could really just listen to any song at any one point and be very inspired. you can also study lyrics from places you really like, if you REALLY want it to be a lyric :)

example 3) resonating with a Word

is there a word that’s repeated a lot in the fic? a word that has Meaning? a single concept summarized in a word that’s important here? that’s a title. you have a good title. example title: please. it’s very centered on begging, and the mc has like heavyyyyy memory problems and is trying to grasp the little wisps they have that are slowly slipping away. like stated before, you don’t have to think about it too hard. wanna make the summary the definition of that word? double whammy!

example 4) canon line/something from the fic

this is for very specific things but let’s say you’ve got like. A really good catchphrase in the fic you came up with. or the fic centers around a diverged canon scene. just pluck it and use it! example title: burn fast, burn bright. one of the reoccurring phrases is the metaphor ‘the candle that burns twice and bright burns half as long’. I just condensed it for the title. :)

and here's a couple tips on what Not to do:

- don’t make it too long. 1 because it’s harder to search, 2 because it’s harder to remember, and 3 bc it would honestly be a handful. it’s a preference, but considerable.

- make sure it relates to the fic in Some way, in literally any capacity. in the same ballpark, don’t

- make sure you like it. you’re going to be refering to the fic with that name for the rest of time.

SO HARD AGAIN BUT gotta be equally whats new, thirteen ghosts + be cool

whats new IS partly bc its the one from my childhood (even if i wasnt actually a scooby fan back then + was actually scared of it lol…can u imagine) but it radiates comfort for me. the theme song alone is to make me just feel purely happy u know….but anyway besides that i love the overall character writing in wsnd!!! its the last show we got with casey kasem + ill always love the snark he brought to shaggys character which is very apparent in this show. daphnes resourcefulness takes center stage which is always just super funny and endearing like girl i dont think thats supposed to work but <333 velma is portrayed as sarcastic but its never meanspirited like its made CLEAR how much she loves her friends. theyre just all so silly and love each other sooo much….

thirteen ghosts i havent actually finished yet BUT despite that its literally already at the top for me lol like firstly i love the premise - its a breakaway from the traditional scooby formula but honestly by the structuring of the episodes u wouldnt think so!!! that different take is executed VERY well imo. the cast of characters r all so very endearing like they r family…. ive always loved the decision to place daphne in a leadership role esp considering what its since engendered. flim flam is SUCH a little guy. hes a witty kid who gives great balance to the cast n his relationships w vincent + scrappy are SO!!! good honestly. vincent is funny like his entire predicament reminds me of thay thing like “found family but its a group of kids who adopt an old guy instead of the other way around” u get it….

Reading internet fights doesnt have to be an internet activity that rots you (ie doom scrolling, falling into the tiktok algorithm hole, etc). Reading internet fights can light up your brain in a similar way to reading a newspaper article or playing a computer game from when you were 8.

The key is to read the good ones where people are arguing really niche topics but both sides (no matter how well or mis informed) take the time to explain the proofs of their conclusions. Like they write out the math of what theyre arguing. Because when someones wrong, this style of argument lets someone else cut them down by pointing out faulty premises or pointing out non sequiturs. When you can read the thinking processes of each side it feels better taking a side because you just saw all the work theyre doing to get to there. Reading good internet arguments can be different from falling in a tik tok hole because the serotonin feels likes its sourced from developing my thinking skills (vs receiving it from being shown something new every 8.7 seconds).

Internet arguments are bad and make me feel like im j watching a car wreck (engages you but not for a good reason) when they give me undeserved credit. Such fights include but sre not limited to (from most to least readable) people debating a proper ranking of priorities or thingd, (and this is one full tier below Ranking Arguments, usually) logical fallacies, introducing tangentially related but ultimately off topic arguments, generalized blanket statements, making statements that are j truly objectively wrong observations about material reality

Cherry on top is when a the Cool Arguer hits all the thoughts you were thinking when reading an Uncool Persons comment AND adds something you didnt think of (learning!) The cherry on top of that cherry is seeing Uncool Arguer get ratioed.

Its important to remember that even tho internet fights dont always have to be soul sucking, even the best of them are only the equivalent to drinking orange juice from Ralphs (idk if this is the most equivalent comparison but im too lazy to think of the right one). Its not soda, it probably wont do too much harm if you have some for brekkie every so often. Definitely shouldnt be drinking it everyday when theres water and teas and seltzer water around. You wont be the microbiome or kind person you want to be on OJ and internet fights.

And this is because 1) you do not want to be a person who has a habit of deriving entertainment from the conflict between others and 2) especially so when theyre arguing over a cause important to you. Example: if theyre arguing about transmisogyny, at the end of the day we want to get rid of transmisogny because 'transmisogyny is an issue you care about because you love trans women *not* because you want transmisogynists to be wrong' (thats j the fun perk). But internet fights abt transmisogmy can only exist if transmisogny exists! So letting those internet arguments become fodder for your attention or a source of receiving joy from the internet is not productive to the true end goal and cause you care for. *And* you dont want to revel in the by products of transmisogyny bc its just gross! Best relationship to good internet fights is 'phew! Comforting to know theres other people who reason things out in the same steps i do! no man is an island!'

not sure if this line of reasoning can be applied to good internet fights on topics i dont care about. I think if an argument is silly and in good nature then its all fun (and actually those types of arguments are good reading, more like water than the good internet arguments on issues i care for, because theres no stakes its just people having fun and connecting with each other thru the medium of the internet) and if people are having a good internet argument over something i dont know about (ie best cars engines from the 80s a la mona lisa from my cousin vinny) well then its also more like water than OJ bc its low stakes with less repercussions and reading it will teach me something. But all these are still a lil bit OJ bc ..babe cut down ur screentime

Anders for sure. He started falling for her at the end of act 1 i think. He was very confused about it, because he is so not in a place for a relationship!! I think he admired her so much like how strong and in control she is while constantly laughing unless its about something important to her. He admires her unabashed love of magic and mages like him and her sister and herself, and that admiration just grows and grows!! He feels so safe with her, doesnt feel like he has to constantly look over his shoulder because she looks out for him. He realizes he loves her long before she does and long before either of them get serious about it. Like him, she never really thought of love as an option? She was mostly content with just sleeping around if she was lonely, but she was mainly occupied taking care of her family and didnt think she wanted that, she thought itd be a drag. But she really began to fall for him around the beginning of act 2 after constantly flirting with him and always hanging around him in her free time, visiting the clinic when she didnt need to. It kinda just smacks her in the face coz shes like “sigh kinda horny might go out- actually maybe anders needs help in the clinic… I wanna see him“ she just O_O “did i rlly fuckin…. id rather help him in a clinic than get laid??… fuckin maker help me this is serious.

26. How do they comfort each other?

i mean besides,,, yaknow 😏… Theyre both very touchy in my opinion so i think they cuddle a LOT!! Especially if either one is in need of comforting they will be attached asap. Erynne use to read to Bethany and Carver sometimes when Malcolm was away and couldnt. I think she would definitely read to Anders if he was particularly upset. To get his mind off of it. Probably something silly that Isabela put in her library or tevinter histories. I think one day when shes upset, he would begin reading to her and it works instantly. so Raphael sits down and puts the food on his plate and he pours hot sauce into his plate while making unwavering eye contact with Alec (yeah raphael can eat in this because he deserves it and i said so) and it's an obvious challenge and it evidently works because Alec 1- is competitive, and 2- actually wants Raphael's respect because he knows how important he is to Magnus. so he takes the salsa from Raphael and starts pouring it too while maintaining eye contact right back, jaw clenched in challenge, looking all serious and Magnus is like "children, please" and raphael's all like "oh no no no, let him" but Alec considers that a win because Raphael is clearly trying to contain a smile and thats the first step to winning him over

so anyway Alec sweats and grimaces through the whole meal, cuz like, look yes he may have pain tolerance because he's a shadowhunter but he's also the bitch who reacted to taking a sip of beer like someone had farted on his face. he can't hide his reactions for shit, but fuck if he doesn't lick the plate clean (not literally like gross) and doesn't shed a single tear, even as he clearly can't keep his eyes open with the effort

Magnus is like "Alexander, you dont have to do this" and alec's like "(eyes squeezed shut, grimacing, drenched in sweat) do what? this is very good" and Raphael is smiling into his plate even as Magnus shoots him dirty looks

then Alec is like "i won. i ate it all" and Raphael is like "(looking at his red sweaty face and puffy eyes) really?"

also look ill always love the hc that Raphael resents Alec for his height and Alec doesnt even notice. Raphael is not short, god damn it, hes 175! thats TEN whole centimeters above the mexican average! he was the tallest boy in Guadalajara! RAPHAEL IS TALL, OKAY

EXCEPT everyone in the goddamn shadow world is apparently a god damn giant. Its humiliating enough that Magnus is 180. but Magnus is his dad, so whatever. but Alec is FUCKING 190. no one needs that much tall. no one! Raphael went from being the tallest boy in the neighborhood to the shortest, and boy he is so not pleased about it

but Alec has no idea because who cares? (Raphael. Raphael cares. deeply. he cares so much) it's not even good to be that tall, he keeps banging his head on things. so there will be moments like. Raphael is standing in front of the bookshelf, seeming very focused. Alec shrugs, figures he's looking for something, and puts the book he was going to put there up. Raphael shoots him a dirty look that might as well be a stab, and Alec's like ???????? did i disrupt you? sorry? and Raphael just crosses his arms like "you didnt do anything, i dont know what you're talking about"

in reality the shelf was too high up because Magnus adjusted his shelves to his and Alec's height, and Raphael refused to stand on his tiptoes or god forbid, a stool, to grab his book, so he was just glaring at the shelf until the book came to him or something. and when Alec put the book up he was mad cuz Alec could reach it fjdndid

later Alec tells Magnus about it like "i dont get what i did. is he just that private?" and Magnus is like "hmm. i have no idea, darling" but next time Raphael comes, the shelves have been spelled to adjust to the book picker's height

also this always makes me think of that scene in hsm where zeke tries to talk to sharpay and she goes "evaporate, tall person!" and leaves and i love that mental image tbh

also like. eventually Alec apologizes for the punching thing (look. look. Im still salty and Raphael deserves it okay) and Raphael is like. moved because something deep inside of him still believed it was his fault and he was a monster, and it's. nice. and Alec kind of extends his arms and Raphael is like "dont think so" and crosses his arms and Alec kind of very very slowly lifts his arm and pats Raphael's head once and Raphael wants to scream and Alec looks very awkward and sheepish and Magnus bursts out laughing

(Raphael doesnt mind, though, because Magnus is genuinely so happy all day that they had a good interaction. so happy. and Raphael thinks, okay, this is okay. it's good if it makes Magnus happy.)

(Magnus also pats his head and plays with his hair, but its okay because Magnus has always done that and Raphael doesnt mind. only from him though. and raphael's partners. but anyway)

plus whenever Magnus is like, upset, or sick or something, theyre like. an unit. because for all they have no common interests they do think very alike (autistic solidarity i guess) and are very practical when it comes to taking care of others, and they both just. adore Magnus, okay. so Raphael will arrive, make Magnus soup. while he makes soup, Alec stays with him and takes his temperature. once Raphael is back with the soup, Alec goes out to buy medicine, and Raphael stays with him to make him company. and so on. at some point Alec is almost falling asleep by Magnus' side and Raphael taps his shoulder and points to the chair nearby, and Alec nods and dozes off for a while. then its the other way around. Magnus isnt seriously sick, of course, but he doesn't usually get sick so it's an event, plus they're both Like This. and for all the grief they give each other, they trust each other to take care of Magnus. theres no argument about that

(Magnus was resting, but he did see some of these moments, and smiled a bit to himself before dozing off again)

also Raphael and Ragnor gave Alec the ultimate shovel talk (Ragnor doesn't trust anyone after Camille, and while neither do cat and dot, they were more chill), but it lowkey backfired because they were like "if you ever hurt him, we'll remove your kneecaps" and Alec was like "(nodding seriously) thats fair"

also i know we've talked about this already but i also love the idea that Raphael goes to their house and is all absentmindedly like "hm can i have some coffee" and alec's like "sure, ill make it :) you stay here and talk to Magnus" and when Alec comes back he hands Raphael his coffee in a "best. bonus son. ever" mug and then he leans back against the wall, sipping his own coffee from his "world's #1 stepdad" mug that he bought himself, trying to hide his shit eating grin, and Raphael scowls and deliberately holds it so his hand covers the words, and Magnus laughs and his eyes shine as he sips his tea.

You can’t see it but I’m pointing and saying that you’re the one who gets me because I also love cheesy stuff. Also I’ve been a nerd over Many things in the past- Mythology, geology, psychology, computers, characters in a franchise I don’t like but I love This One Person, etc. Have I stuck with any of these things long enough to be Smart and Cool and Know A Lot? Absolutely not. But my anxiety dictates that I’ll annoy anyways. (Nyanon, 1/6)

Putting my annoyingness aside, the ones that are your favorites aren’t basic!!! They had an impact on you that makes you cherish them, and that’s important! My Neighbor Totoro is probably one of the most well known (and therefore “basic”) films they’ve released, but it’s super important to me anyways. But yes, the two of them would look adorable in the Ghibli style,,, I can even imagine them just. Dressing up as Howl and Sophie for like, a convention or something, it’d be great. (Nyanon, 2/6)

He loves them, and I feel like he’d love being able to restore or take care of them in someway, even if they are inanimate objects and it makes him feel a bit silly for being so attached. I think that’d be cute, but it’s been a while since I’ve been able to watch Kiki’s Delivery Service, so I might be a bit off on how that works. And! I like to imagine that, when he’s turned into a wolf, his ability doesn’t work? Because Reasons, so he and an equally fluffy Atsushi often curl around and on top of each other, it’s adorable. Also imagine Dazai’s frustrations with his new instincts. He keeps wanting to immediately run after anything that moves. (Nyanon, 4/6)

He can’t stop chasing his own tail when it pops up, in and out of wolf form? And he doesn’t know HOW Atsushi avoids growling and making noises at Every Little Thing that bothers him. It’s exhausting and Atsushi is just vining with all of it. Anyways, onto another Scenario Concept: Atsushi getting to try out new hobbies! atsushi very much loves books!!! kyouka would probably be chilling on the rooftop of the book store, old radio that atsushi found beside her playing some music (yes atsushi also likes to collect Old stuff and vintage stuff as well) and then she just thinks “HMMM I WANNA GO ON MY WITCH ADVENTURE NEXT FULL MOON” (which is in tWO days) and as she goes to tell atsushi that atsushi almost messes up the book hes trying fix because hes in SHOCK “kyouka? what do you mean? what should i do about the movie tickets then?” “Cancel them! im going!” *cue staring in cluelessness before snapping back into reality and scrambling after an already packing kyouka*

(i imagine that kyouka is an orphan like atsushi but she knows that her family is a lineage of witches cus she became an orphan when she was like. seven or six so she KNOWS and when she started living with atsushi he just supported her and her traditions)

and then atsushi calls the small circle of friends they have and tells them that “hey!! kyouka is going in two days!!” and theyre like oH SHIT NO WAY REALLY (i imagine its koyo, yosano, fukuzawa and lucy are the people that are in their circle of friends that see kyouka off)

while byakko is atsushi and kyoukas Cat he definitely gives byakko to her as hes crying and saying that she needs to have a friend from home before she makes new ones and kyoukas like “ill be Back dont worRY-”

KENJI IS THE BOY SHE MEETS AT THE TOWN SHE SETTLES FOR AND THEY ARE CUTE AND FALL IN LOVE IM SORRY AAAA- i just ship them okay they would be very cute

and then later on that night when kyouka is gone and everyone went home atsushi closes the book shop but then Somebody walks in and its the WITCH and they C U  R S E him and he becomes OLD and hes like “i cant let everybody else see me like this” and FLEES to try and find whoever cursed him or however he can Lift this dumb curse cause he does not want kyouka to come home to change, he just wants her to comfortably come back and fall into her usual routines without much of a shock

and so he meets Dazais Moving Castle and i imagine chuuya being the angry calcifer and akutagawa being dazais quiet but Cant Say No underling (which is so CUTEEE) and they. its just. Yes. (chuuya is smitten but doesnt which is why he gives in to atsushi so fast that it surprises dazai) either way all that drama happens and now atsushi is back with a new boyfriend (read: husband), a same aged friend, and an angry former Flame which is Not what atsushi accepted but hey, kyouka is back with a heart filled with romance so she cant be too shocked at atsushi also being in love
