PAUSE. i love this so much. reveals like this are so fun (not so much for rin ;;). and ryuji being the one to extend an olive branch despite having been majorly affected by the blue night? this is so compelling.

it's soooo good, I live for the dramatic reveals.

like sure, he knows that izumo knows that he and rinka are the same person, so at least he doesn't have to be worried about her. and shima. well. he doesn't know when shima figured it out, since he won't say, but it doesn't even matter since he left with yukio. but everyone else?

he doesn't think shiemi will react badly, at least.

(she will, though, have a very belated realization that she basically confessed her love of rinka... to rinka. she just didn't know it at the time. izumo watches her put her hands over her face and scream into them in an embarrassed fashion and is just like. lol. lmao.)

but ryuuji and konekomaru? he can basically kiss his friendship with them goodbye. sure, he's not the one who took their family away and ruined their temple, but he can't say he's unrelated. he's the son of satan. he's a demon. he knows for a fact konekomaru is terrified of rinka. and he's had the audacity to pretend be human for months in front of them anyways.

but what rin doesn't understand is that despite his attempts to deflect their suspicions, they've been piecing it together all along. it's why when ryuuji went to return rin's missing bracelet, only to find that rin was wearing it, he just kind of... kept the one rinka dropped. he's not sure why. it just seemed like it might be important to hold on to.

and konekomaru? he's been watching rinka for a long time, mostly because he was so afraid of him at first. but the thing is... if you watch someone for long enough, you kind of start to understand them. i think it's konekomaru who really realizes first that rinka... isn't really that different from them. he's the son of satan, possessor of blue flames, the literal anti-christ but- he smiles and laughs the same as anyone else. oh, right. he's half-human too.

is it any real surprise that he might want to try living as one?

rinka braces himself for the worst, but instead he gets... kindness and understanding. and it's something he desperately needs, considering his brother has basically disowned him, shot him, and fled to the Illuminati- on top of whatever the hell is going on with his eye. he shakily takes the bracelet from ryuuji and slips it on. he feels the familiar itch of his human guise slipping into place, and slowly exhales.

if he's going to tell them everything, it's a little easier like this.
