summary: Enemies to lovers on steroids. The PR teams strike again.

Y/N was unusually giddy while doing interviews on the grid that day. It was hard to be nervous when in the corner of her eye she saw Lando, in his usual glorious unbothered style, seemingly more confident than he'd been the past few weeks.

Smiles shared in secret, both of them being lifted up by enormous amount of butterflies. Yet they both tried their best to keep busy in order to push off their inevitable "what are we" talk.

She was more than sure what she wanted to be to him. But the thought of him not being willing to make the lead was a scary one - so let's just ignore it and keep thinking about his tongue on her neck. And Lando? He was doing exactly the same. Both of them blissfully unaware that their crush has started to become impossible to hide.

"Y/N, what do you think about the car on this track? Will you be competetive enough for a podium?" was a simple and boring question that Y/N tried to answer in a creative way, but nothing was coming to her mind. With a great smile, she replied: "Yeah, I have a pretty good feeling that things are turning out for good."

Lando was "not so accidentally" passing by at that exact moment, deliberately taking the rout where he would have to walk past her, because his body just wanted to be near her at any point possible. His school boy instinct kicked in and in the same way as a five-year old boy would pull his crushes hair, he snatched Y/N team cap of her head gracefully in order to tease her.

"Hey!" she screamed in the middle of listening to another question from the interviewer and turned around, knowing well who that was, as she watched him approaching before. A small amused smile escaped her, it was impossible to stop it. Same for Lando.

"Oh, hello, Lando," the interviewer acknowledged him, hoping for some good viral content.

"Hey," was his speedy response, probably not ever trying to hide his own amusement.

Y/N tried to keep it cool and look at his lips. "Give it back, Lando." Nope, she failed at keeping her smile in.

"You know where to pick it up, honey," he said simply, winked and said goodbye to the interviewer as he walked away. Y/N's stomach dropped at how obvious he was with his flirting in public and how impossible she found it to keep herself together. She took a moment before resuming, internally fuming. She was happy and mortified at the same time.

"Well," Y/N said as she turned back to her interview. "Where were we?" And there it was - a fatal smile that would cost her in the future.

The interviewer was full on a mission to not let that go. "I see the mood has shifted between you two, has the previous feud passed now?"

"I guess you could say that, yes," she replied, slowly pulling herself back, heart still beating like after running a marathon.

"Do you guys spend time together off the track? Has that maybe helped?" How the fuck was she supposed to answer that?

Not so confidently, she pulled out a cliché line in order to save her. "We do our talking on the track." It was technically not a lie - what they did in their spare time was definitely not limited to talking.

"I see," the interviewer said, not satisfied with her answer.

"I'd love to chat, but my team is calling," he pointed somewhere off camera, somewhere where there definitely was not someone from her team pointing at her. She excused herself and strolled away, in the other way that Lando went, as quickly as possible.

Yes, she did. Oh god, it was becoming unbearable. How was he so infuriating? How can one manage to be so....ugh!!

The day passed by in a blur of meetings, interviews and fan meet and greets. Since their "joint" interview was live though, it took only few hours for the first edits to appear on social media, hashtags getting created and the two of them going viral once again. It was all a bit overwhelming, Y/N sat there and secretly watched every single edit she came by. There is one thing to fantasize secretly about your crush, another thing is when the whole seems to get on the same boat and romanticize the fuck out it. Was it making the whole thing more awkward? Probably, but Lando's and Y/N minds were too busy thinking about each other in order to take in the point of view of others. The whole grid became aware of the pair quickly becoming a meme.

Oscar limited himself to eye rolling only, as he was more than aware of what was going on.

Y/N was shocked to find Lando already sitting in with his and her team in one of the FIA's meeting rooms. The fact that this was happening outside of their team premise should have been a clear sign - they are being called into the same meeting. Nowhere to hide now.

Lando was sitting there, casually cramped up in a chair in an anatomically impossible position, legs twisted all around. "Can't he not sit like a normal person for once?" was Y/N first thought. The reason he sat like that was to prevent himself from foot tapping the whole building down. Acting cool and innocent, that was his strategy. He was sure they'll tell him to tone it down, not to bother Y/N publicly, he'll just nod at everything they say and then go finally cum all over her chest once again, just to prove to her that she is his. Not a hard task. He glanced at her innocently as she stepped in, doing a real bad job at hiding her shock. He rolled his eyes and smirked. This girl was so innocently cute. His own comms team shot him a warning look, so he just proceeded to stare into the ground. Y/n had very little time to get her strategy ready, cursing herself for not discussing this with Lando prior to this.

"Thank you both for coming on such a short notice," was how Lando's team opened the conversation with. You could cut the tension in the room with a butter knife.

"As you're both aware, we have tried several strategies in the past in order to get your image out in the best light as possible."

Y/N let out a laugh which she could not contain in, to which Lando shot her a surprised, horrified and slightly amused look. Unbelievable.

"Continue, please. I am listening," he said, just to spite her.

"Thank you. Please guys, let's keep this civil and adult," this time her team stepped in to put her down. Lando could not remember having this much fun.

"To continue what my colleague started to say, lots of several approaches which did not bring the ideal results. And with today's development, we feel like this is another time for us to step in. You're both faces of prestigious brands and the teams rely on you being likable characters. Am I right?"

Lando nodded, as if he was lying about understanding a new topic in a math lesson - maybe little too much. Y/N just bit her lip and remained silent.

This whole thing was so bizarre, like being caught for stealing a candy bar while having a stolen gold necklace in your pocket.

"What would you suggest?" Lando asked and Y/N doubted anyone in the room was fooled by his act and must have seen though him. He was obviously having the time of his life. At this rate she would have a hole in her lower lip if she would keep biting it down this was.

"I'm glad you're asking, Lando, and hope you'll be able to cooperate."

"You can count on my sincere involvement in your strategy," he stated seriously and stared at Y/N comms team. His own team knew what was up with his attitude but decided not to call him out just yet.

Y/N glanced at the papers resembling a contact on the table. This is it, she thought, the no contact and no involvement agreement. They're going to stop them from talking to each other in public? Is that even allowed?

His's comms manager took a deep breath. "The numbers on all our socials have spiked up greatly since your interaction became of a positive nature. What we've seen today - that will make our sponsors more than happy."

Lando was quicker than Y/N to connect the dots. His mood changed drastically within seconds and he finally sat up straight.

"No. Not a chance," he burned his team with his hard stare.

"Lando, please, let us finish."

He was not having that. "I know what you're going to say and no, you can't just order us to do that."

"Nobody is ordering you to do anything. We're simply...Putting this on the table.

"Forget that, no way in hell am I ever going to agree with this," he said, pointing at the contracts lying on the table. The room went silent for few seconds.

"I'm sorry, what are we talking about here?" asked Y/N, not really having the dots connected just yet. Lando briefly forgot that she was in the room, suddenly regretting his quick dismissal. But he was not the one to be forced into anything like this. Better him having it break to her then them, right?

This time he was the one to take a deep breath and while speaking to Y/N, he still stared at the comms teams. "They want us to start fake dating for PR." He was hoping he got it wrong. But the silence on the other side of the table just proved him right.

This came as a shock to her. Was this their masterplan? Did they really have to meddle all the fucking time? "I...I didn't think these things actually happened in real world," she stated, honestly.

Why couldn't these two just get a minute to talk among themselves? Y/N's mind was once again stuck in a rut because of Lando Norris existing at the same time as she did. Million questions on her mind, but the biggest one - why was it such a hard and obvious no from him? He did not even consider it. This could have been an easy escape for them.

"What would that look like exactly?" she asked, wrapping her head around it.

She received smiles from the team, them being happy that she was seemingly somewhat on board. "Well, we would set a clear timeline with a deadline and a scheduled break up, set up a social media strategy, you'd accompany each other on social event and the PDA would be very clearly stated upon the mutual agreement between you and your lawyers. Involvement of other people around you would always be discussed prior and clear communication is key. We do not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. Of course, an NDA is part of this agreement."

It was impossible to look at him just yet. Her head was spinning. She was on the verge of crying and had to somehow hold herself together in front of all those people. She had to get out fast, like fast fast. She had her answer. He did not like her in the same way she liked him.

"Excuse me for a moment, I feel sick," she said and swiftly got up, nearly tripping over her own feet as she sprinted out.

nope, never had surgery or anything too invasive. I really don’t need it haha, losing weight, fixing my skin and growing my hair out did wonders for me. I’ve had collagen pumped into my skin for some acne scars I had but that was a useless procedure, this is back when I was 18. I’ve done exilis and em sculpt which I’ve mentioned below, I’ve gotten laser done (useless), I had IVs for semaglutide (useless). I think that’s about it.

beauty maintenance routine:

wax every 1.5 months

thread and wax my face every Sunday

face masks 2x week

hair mask 1 x week

high frequency if I feel like my skin needs a push (I have a wand at home)

gel polish every month

minoxidil for hair growth

I FaceTime my dermat once a month or once in two months

things that wealthy people do that normally people don’t know about… the problem is that everything is public these days. Any Jane can get filler and collagen therapy now and in certain elitist families, there is a sense of disdain about that. Beauty is a competition, it’s a very hush hush business and most try to be as discreet as possible.

I’ve seen lots of nose jobs and chin jobs that these younger girls get done in their late teens or early 20s to improve their prospects for fame (very common in the entertainment families). But with legacy family businesses, among the older women, it will be one of two extremes- a horrible face lift and smudged make up or all natural face yoga and black magic that they swear by. Baby Botox is also huge with the younger wives but they never get it done in India, they always go to LA/ NYC / and absolute worst case Dubai. You really cannot afford to be 35 and botched. The reality is that with huge legacy families what you don’t have is time. Time for recovery I mean, because for those few months you cannot be seen publicly. For most families this is impossible- there are constant engagements, philanthropic activities (PR), weddings and parties to attend - so whatever they get done, they ensure that the down time is very very short. That’s also why most of them have consistent “natural” wellness routines like getting massages weekly. emsculpt and exilis are a big secret (I’ve done both). I’m writing a blog post about it in real time. Downtime is zero. A lot of women also get exilis done for their vaginas to make it tighter.

I have cousins who have MUAs on a retainer basis. Regardless of how big or small the event is, they ensure that they’re looking glam at all times if they’re going to be socialising. I personally think that’s insane and I’m very good at my beating my face so I never resorted to doing this for every occasion but yes this is common.

diet - I’ll be honest, most girls will very rarely touch food. If we’re going out for dinner we normally go for Japanese because it’s a little lighter. They smoke/ vape a lot which in turn suppresses appetite.

what I plan to get done soon:

acne scar treatment (I have very slight scarring only on one cheek because I sleep on my side)

tbh the best beauty tip I can give you is start working out young. I’ve seen so many women not go back to their pre-baby weight, struggle with their health which inevitably fucks with your appearance, and try all sorts of stupid things when they could literally just start working out and watch their body transform in a few months.

also, don’t get fillers done impulsively. It looks ridiculous unless you have the right doc and 8/10 times you don’t. try to stick to your ethnicity as much as possible. As an Indian, the closest inspo for me is Middle Eastern because I have similar features (full brows, full lips and big eyes). But if I try getting Korean style plastic surgery I’m going to look daft.

She took one last look in the mirror. It was just dinner with a friend, but being a public figure meant more eyes were usually on her than most. A pair of comfortable designer jeans she had gotten from a photo shoot and a maroon fitted jumper made it look like she wasn’t trying too hard without looking like she didn’t care at all.

She tousled her hair one more time before grabbing her phone and heading to the door to grab her black winter coat and purse. The restaurant was only a few blocks from her place so it wasn’t worth the bother to drive. She didn’t mind the walk either, some of the houses on her street always went all out with their light displays and holiday decorations. Tonight was the first chance she got to walk by and enjoy them.

She was around the corner from the restaurant when her phone went off with a text notification. Even before she pulled it out of her pocket she knew what it was going to be.

Leah crossed her fingers that the guy she was about to sit next to didn’t try and hit on her all night.

“This seat taken?” She asked politely walking up behind the seat.

“Nope. You’re more than welcome to it. Let me scoot over and give you a bit more room.” The person replied in a very obvious American accent and a deep but distinctly feminine voice.

“Oh.” Leah was caught off guard by her incorrect assumption. “I appreciate that, thank you.” She told the person as she took off her coat and placed it on the back of the chair.

After she was settled, a waiter behind the bar walked up. “Ms. Williamson, pleasure to see you again.” They said as they handed her a menu. “Start you with a drink?”

“Thank you. Glass of chardonnay, please.”

“Sure thing.” They said and then headed back down the bar.

“Regular here, huh?” The person next to her asked as they took a sip of their drink without looking in her direction.

“Not really. Only been in a few times.” She replied quietly, not really wanting to drawn much attention to herself.

“Ah, then clearly they watch women's football. As they should.”

And clearly this person knew who she was too.

“Mmm, yeah, I guess.” Was all Leah said in response.

There was silence after that, the stranger going back to their drink. They had their phone propped up on the bar watching what Leah guessed was a replay of the U.S. game against China PR from the week prior.

Leah couldn’t help herself. “What do you think of the Emma Hayes move?”

The stranger turned and faced her for the first time and Leah was struck by piercing blue eyes. Their hair was light brown and cut in a more masculine style, buzzed on the sides with the top longer and brushed back and towards one side. They had a strong jawline, but the rest of their features were what Leah would describe as soft almost. The perfect balance of masculine and feminine. Definitely not Leah’s type, but she wasn’t blind, they were very attractive.

“I think we’ll finally start utilizing the talent we have properly and stop banging our head against a wall repeatedly doing the same thing when it obviously doesn’t work. And I’m not naive, things aren’t going to change overnight. We have a young group we’re still trying to get together on the same page, but maybe they’ll all start going in the same direction at least.” The stranger finished.

“So you weren’t a fan of Vlatko I’m guessing?”

“Absolutely not. He was boring, soft, his lineups and tactics were questionable at best. I didn’t like the hire from the get go and I think he was there too long.” The stranger took a sip of their drink. “I think the powers that be got a much needed reality check. We can’t accept mediocrity and still expect to win. The women’s game has changed. Other countries are finally starting to invest in their women’s programs and youth levels bit by bit, and they are coming for the US, Germany. Being a top 5 team in the world doesn’t mean your success is a guarantee like it might have in the past.”

The waiter walked over then with Leah’s wine. She gave him her order, not bothering to even open the menu, just ordering the same chicken dish had gotten the last time she was there.

“What do you think of the move? Has a bit of an impact on league and country. Her leaving one rival and going to another so to speak.” The stranger asked over her glass before taking another sip.

“Oh, umm. It is quite the shake up. I admit I’m curious who will fill her role at Chelsea. But I’m not sure I have much to say about her taking over the U.S. team. At least not at the moment.” Leah really wasn’t looking to get into any type of potential disagreement or the like with an American about their countries football team. Keeping neutral was best.

“Fair enough.” The stranger gave a slow head nod and turned back to the game on her phone.

Leah took a sip of her wine and watched the game over the strangers shoulder. They must of had a 6th sense because they moved their phone in between the two of them without a word.

“They’re definitely disjointed. Struggling to connect between the defense and the attackers. And they can’t seem to string more than 3 passes together before they lose it.” Leah let her thoughts roll out.

“Like I said, not on the same page. There are a lot of fresh faces, which I love. But they need more time together for sure. That would help with the fluidity issue. They still need to get used to Sonnett playing the 6. I think her energy in the middle still catches some of them off guard. The speed of Thompson is hard for some to keep up with and anticipate what she’s trying to do. There is just a lot of change.” The stranger replied without so much as a glance in Leah’s direction.

It was oddly comfortable talking to a stranger about football as if Leah wasn’t really a part of that world. This person wasn’t asking her about her injury recovery, wasn’t asking or saying anything that actually had to do with Leah in any way. It was a rather nice change from her usual encounters with strangers who knew who she was and what she did for a living.

They continued watching the game in relative silence, just throwing out random comments about a play or player sporadically until Leah’s order arrived.

The waiter placed the plate in front of Leah on the bar. “Anything else I can get ya?” He asked.

“No, I think I’m alright for the time being. Thank you.” Leah gave him a polite smile.

The waiter turned to the stranger. “Another round RJ?”

“Nah, I think I’m good Colin.” The stranger pulled out their wallet and laid a bill on the bar top. “You know the drill.”

Colin, the waiter, let out a hearty laugh. “Yeah, yeah. Keep the change. You keep tipping me like this I’m going to have to start buying your rounds.” He waved the bill at her. A £50 note.

“I might let you do that. Once. But we’ll see.” The stranger, or well, RJ as the waiter had called them, got up from their chair and began putting on a camel hair coat that had been laying over the chair.

As they buttoned up their coat, Leah could help but notice how tall they were. The waiter looked to be about 6 foot, and RJ didn’t seem too far off in comparison.

“Ms. Williamson,” RJ broke Leah out of her mental calculation on their height. “It was very nice to meet you. Maybe we’ll see each other around sometime.”

“Oh, yes. It was nice to meet you as well, umm RJ?” Leah questioned. Not sure if she was to call them that or not.

“Enjoy your meal.” RJ bowed their head slightly, turned and walked away.

“RJ’s an interesting one.” The waiter said as they picked up the empty glass and wiped down the surface where RJ had been seated.

“How’d ya mean?”

“They have a drink or two, and then always hand over a £50 note. Won’t accept change even though the tab is usually less than £20.” He shook his head.

“Are they a regular?” Leah asked.

“Not sure if I would call them a regular just yet. They only moved from America about a month and a half ago, they said. Some digital job of some sort.” He shrugged. “Just holler if you need anything else.” He turned and headed back down the bar.

I read the comments on my previous ask and don't worry! I will not be sharing anything sensitive whatsoever. I find it funny when other shippers say things like "How is it possible that K-fans can keep things to themselves?" I don't think I've seen anyone else address this yet so let me tell you why.

K-Jikookers are mostly queer. Yes, you read that right. Unlike other shippers, who are straight women that self-insert as one of the members (like they do with TK) we support them as a couple. This means that we don't want to date either of them, and we don't self-imagine as their partner - we know that they're unavailable because they're exclusive to each other. You get me? And we know first hand how terrible it is to be queer in a conservative society. There are actually very few real romantic shippers in Korea, (again, KM is the only romantic ship that has a substantial fanbase) simply because it is so hard to accept two men dating. This is why you will see K-Jikookers on Twitter all being close friends/meeting up in person, because they are kindred spirits. I think it might be hard for westerners to really understand. How do I emphasize this more? The older generation in Korea, anyone older than 30+, is deeply homophobic, to the point where they see anything LGBT as western influence and pervasion. Being American, I know it's hard to grasp that level of homophobia - it's not hate comments about your sexuality or people refusing to sell you a cake for a gay wedding. It's social death, rejection, parents disowning their children, getting fired from your job. I'm not kidding. Do you think us, as queer fans who love and support KM, will willingly out them?

We would never, ever, ever do that, because we know the repercussions. Some Jikookers like to fantasize about their coming out, and I want you to understand: the K-side is terrified of that day. Yes, we all think it will happen in due time, but we are very very scared. You think the hate that JM is getting now is bad? You think people sending food to JK's apartment is bad? Nope. You haven't seen anything yet. You understand what I mean, right? Their coming out will not be a cute post. It will be a carefully orchestrated move complete with a legal and PR team. If/when they are out, their lives will be in immediate danger. I truly believe they will leave the country for a bit, maybe even months, maybe a year. There will not be any public sightings, fan meets, concerts. KM know this very well too. I'm sure there's already a plan in place for it.

And anyone searching for KM evidence on K-Jikookers social media, I would say don't bother. It's almost impossible. The white day photo leak was a massive mistake, and I know exactly who leaked it because they were removed from all group chats immediately. K-Jikookers were very very angry with them (and also cussing out foreigners...please, we all need to keep our mouths shut and keep stuff within our own circles.)

The world moves too fast now for anyone to get to the levels of Julia and George in the 90s/early 2000s....now you can literally be hot on Monday and not on Tuesday. While I respect your opinion, I don’t agree with it. I still believe that L and his team were knowledgeable about the paparazzi before hand. The reason why, is his actions after part 2 was released and the aftermath of the pap walk.

He stopped posting anything related to part 2 or Bridgerton content on his SM. His very last post regarding p2 was about working on Bridgerton for 5 years and the first picture was of himself at the London premiere. His post barely acknowledged N (except for the very last picture of them at the London premiere) or the cast/crew.

His SM was then more focused on his modeling portfolio and his brand. I think L and his team cut a deal with DM and People so he can get people to stop shipping him with N. Also a way for him to show off his new gf to the public.

Unfortunately, he and his team miscalculated the timing of the “hard launch” and they should have waited a couple more days.

I think it is always a good idea to look at anything you see online (even with people you like) with some hesitancy (so I'm not at all offended that you don't agree with me), and to not take everything you read at face value. It's very easy to come up with lies (that seem believable). It's easy to be persuaded by anybody, if you don't look at things in a more critical way.

I just don't think that his social media is a big fuck you to Bridgerton or Nicola. He was distancing himself from it even before part 2 was released, I mean he didn't post things about some of the stops on the world tour. Do I think it may be a good idea for him to post more and with better captions? For sure, it would appeased the fans.

This is preemptive, since there is now an official enquiry and they do want to be accused of leaking info. OR 2.) They are saving their ass because they did make up a story and leak some info to someone that became part of the narrative and they are trying to back track.

If I had to guess, I'd say they immediately went to DMoi and shared some made up information, because DMoi was pretty adamant that it was her regular trusted source. And then this source was also updating her weekly (I listen to her podcasts) . She was one of the accounts that kept the story alive, although she did not propagate the conspiracy theories, she was pretty sure she knew the medical info.

HnM have definitely been blabbing someplace and that's why they put it this People story because the breach of medical confidentiality became a legal issue this week.

They’re not getting any information at all about Kate. I used to know someone who had Crohns and they said once that stress makes everything worse for them. Even though we don’t know exactly what Kate’s condition is, there’s been enough evidence that we can safely assume that stress has/will aggravate it, and it is also safe to assume that the Sussexes have caused some of the stress in Kate’s life - so of course they’re not going to be updated on her condition or involved in the discussions! If there’s one thing William does well, it’s how fiercely he protects the people he loves. I don’t remember why I went down this tangent…oh, right. I think Harry and/or Meghan have been caught saying things about Kate’s health that William/KP knows for a fact are false and it may be somehow connected to the clinic investigation or — like you said — it took on a new critical urgency once the confidentiality breach was discovered. Because remember, KP is getting updates about it (they’re the ones who leaked it, IMO, so the public would know and to be able to hold the hospital accountable for following through).

It wouldn’t surprise me if the hospital is looking at the communications of these 3 employees to see who they have been in touch with. (If they were using company accounts/devices it’s perfectly legal to do that. At least here in the US it is, not sure about the UK.)

Anyway, I don’t think the Sussexes are directly behind the medical records privacy invasion - my gut is that it’s a foreign publication but you never know. I think the Sussexes have been gossiping with their friends/associates/bots and that’s been brought to KP’s attention. I mean, if Meghan once felt it was appropriate to make the plane crash comment, she probably thinks it’s appropriate to openly speculate about some of the worse theories.

So today DWKT posted their update and was there remorse for just being so eager to hate on a woman for money and engagement? Nope. Was there any sorrow for reading an article where the sexual assault claim was already made clear to the public just so they could laugh at how "silly" it possibly could have been that Baldoni was fatshaming Blake Lively (he was) but not the part where Blake Lively also claimed he forced kisses for too long during takes almost like they either didn't read the whole article or skipped it cause it would have given them backlash by their audience, a thing they openly admit to doing all the time? No. Did we get them saying they were completely in the right cause "well what we critiqued was valid cause she was mean"; missing the whole point that they are the people the PR crisis managers were talking about when they said "The internet is too eager to hate on women"? In the chem ov universe, the jacob/darling pr basically mellowed out on its own. Even the fans thought they were just friends because the pr wasn't strict, so they weren't going full-on with it. Ewan's posts were pretty definitive though. Fans thought Ewan/Darling were solid for a bit, then confusion due to the months long radio silence, then comes the controversial second post. Matt enters the scene, but he's known to be affectionate with friends/costars so fans aren't too quick to jump on the matt/darling theory. But it might catch on 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is the strangest and most awkward video. Why so cheesy? 9 months for preventive chemo? She looks like she walked miles through fields, woods and beach for this video so surely she’s well enough to work.

Notice she says “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.” A casual reading suggests she’s completed it circa end of summer but actually those two clauses are not linked, she’s just commenting on the time of year she’s making the announcement and saying it’s a relief to have completed chemo. Without specifying when she completed chemo.

A direct wording of “as of this August, I have completed…” would have made more sense but

I’m in the camp of she had cancer several years ago which is why all of her statements use weird tense like “the doctors said cancer had been present” and she’s basically using a disease she’s in remission for as a cover for general health issues bc it’s a sympathetic cover and after all the consequences still do effect her health.

They must have a new PR team and trying to do damage control. This video is way too over produced and cringe. They are trying to get people to believe the cancer is over with and they are more in love than ever. However I don’t believe anything they say anymore. I still think they are covering something up.

My husband works producing music videos and he says with all the outfit changes, scene set ups and changes it would have taken at least 30 hours of filming. Why do all that instead of sending out a press release if you are recovering from cancer? 

I wonder when this video was filmed. William was just in public a few days ago sporting a faux beard and he had even more facial hair in their Olympics video but he’s clean shaven here. So this shoot can’t be that recent which makes me question the statement, just like their behavior since January makes me question the diagnosis.

Reading between the lines on her statement it sounds like she’s going to cherry pick the fun events like she did with Trooping and Wimbledon and shirk any serious work engagements for “health reasons”. It’s crazy that the media and general public aren’t questioning this because it just doesn’t add up. I’m back to chat about that long-awaited interview and get some thoughts from you and the other regulars here.

Disclaimer: these are just my personal takes, I’m not out here claiming to be the voice of reason or anything. Think of this as my little stream-of-consciousness moment, like James Joyce or Virginia Woolf but with less finesse (and more chaos).

Fair warning: brevity is not my strong suit, but I’ll try to keep this as snappy as I can.

First thing that stands out to me? Once again, the dude’s communication is all over the place. Does this guy even have a PR team? Like, seriously. Back in 2020, he announces he’s retiring from the industry (news to me, btw). Then, four years later, he pops up in one of the most anticipated shows on the planet. And sure, it’s totally valid to change your mind, but shouldn’t you at least explain that to people so it doesn’t feel like a total curveball?

Is this about redemption? Reconciliation? A fresh start? Money? Because honestly, he’s said a lot without really saying anything. It’s classic T.O.P, isn’t it? I was hoping he’d come mentally and strategically prepared this time, ready to face the music, give some clarity, and offer answers beyond vague comments about “lost time.” But nope, he’s leaving his whole vibe open to wild interpretations again.

I get it, re-establishing a connection with the outside world after years in isolation isn’t easy. But it’s even harder when you keep doing… nothing. Like, I’m genuinely happy he’s been working on music during these seven years, and I hope we hear it soon, but why not share a little bit here and there with the people who’ve been wondering if you’re okay? And now, in this interview, he apparently chose not to drop any info about other projects either.

This ambiguity just feeds more criticism, the same kind he says he doesn’t want to hear anymore. Which brings me to a quick side note: the idea of “normality” with zero criticism? Yeah, that’s a fantasy, for anyone, let alone a public figure. This, to me, says a lot about where he’s at mentally and emotionally.

Look, I get it. Wanting to avoid criticism feels like a way to protect yourself. But avoiding something doesn’t mean solving it. Fame amplifies everything: the highs, but also the lows. If, at 40, T.O.P still hasn’t developed the tools to handle that pressure, it’s no surprise he’s stuck in this vicious cycle where fame sustains and destroys him at the same time.

And sure, he’s mentioned depression and other struggles before, but where’s the follow-up? What has he actually done to address these issues? Awareness is crucial, but without concrete actions, it can come off as self-indulgent. And let’s be real, people are way more open to mental health conversations now. I’m sure everyone here gets the need for time and space to heal, but the lack of transparency leaves this awkward gap. Has he worked with therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists? If so, why not normalize it by talking about it? It’s way more effective than vague comments about eating healthy and exercising. Come on, man, seriously?

After years of silence, he’s missed a golden opportunity to bridge the gap between his past and present. This could’ve been a thoughtful reintroduction, a way to share his personal and artistic growth. Instead, we got… well, nothing. Silence might feel like a safe strategy, but it doesn’t rebuild reputations or forge new connections.

His approach suggests an inability to handle the complexity of his own choices. He’s clinging to this “protective bubble” that might’ve worked in isolation but falls apart in an industry as public as his. Without crafting a fresh, powerful narrative, every move he makes feels random and disconnected.

Joining Squid Game 2 is a massive step. But without a proper game plan to manage everything else around it, it’s like building a house on quicksand. Being there isn’t enough, he needs to explain why he’s back, what he wants to do, how he plans to do it, and what his relationship with his supporters looks like now.

He’s not the first person to face a public comeback. Just look at Britney Spears, Joaquin Phoenix, Adele, Dave Chappelle, Rihanna, Eminem, Hayley Williams… they all managed to create a bridge between their personal struggles and professional lives. Why not take a page from their playbook?

And then there’s that ring he’s been wearing for a while, the one with the year “1967” engraved on it. Could it represent something deeply personal? Maybe a tribute to a family member, mentor, or a major event? Or could it tie back to his love for art and culture? (1967 was a huge year for music, counterculture, and the Summer of Love.) Who knows?

I’m sure more articles will drop soon, and maybe they’ll change my perspective entirely (fingers crossed). Until then, all I can do is hope that he finds a way to tell his story more openly and authentically.

I agree, love him and I hate this for him, but he said a whole lot of nothing and kept it as vague as possible minus a lot of highlighting the depressive parts. He doesn't want the negativity and criticism but invities it in cause of Hang Man tarot card behavior and energy with not doing anything, not responding, not getting ahead of the curve, not being engaged with the public and having bizzare behavior that warrants people especially Koreans to judge him. The public in Korea are extreme for going in on him like that but he allows it and furthers it. Only people like Michael Jackson can behave so oddly and isolate themselves then come back whenever they want with such expectations. Firstly, who do you work for? I work at a public relations agency. Small company compared to other multinational agencies we work with; we have grown considerably since the time I started but I also don’t think we’re over 100 just yet.

What is your position? I’m a senior manager.

What are your responsibilities? I’m tasked to be the jack-of-all-trades when it comes to everything account management, meaning to say I’m the main rep in my team in deliverables ranging from handling clients’ day-to-day needs, to mounting events, to organizing press release or PR kit sendouts, to leading pitch presentations. It’s also a complicated position to be in because I have to have everything done before routing it to my superior for approval, but I’m also in charge of overseeing and approving what my associates send me. In badly put terms, I’m the team member who needs to be present the most and file the least leaves lol

Do you enjoy your job? When clients are easy to work with, or when campaigns perform well, or when I actually like the campaign or brand I’m working with, I can enjoy it. But office life isn’t always that easy and glamorous so I’m also always in danger of burning out. I’m very 50-50 about the work.

Do you work with other people, or solo? It’s a very people-based job. I'm constantly speaking with my teammates, clients, suppliers, and other agencies.

What are your co-workers like? The ones who have been around longer are definitely fun and easier to work with, but I’ve observed that the newer wave of associates need a lot of babying and feeding...sometimes we’ll have a new teammate who works really well and is a joy to work with, but most are easily personally affected by feedback while also not performing well. Like, how are you going to get better if you can’t even accept genuine points for improvement said in the gentlest way possible? Hahaha. Personally, it’s a big shift from the time I was the newbie where my co-associates and I had no issue being left to our own devices.

What is/are your boss(es) like? My director’s very knowledgeable about the industry and always knows the right questions to ask, i.e. she’ll make me realize what I missed out on or what opportunities I’m not maximizing. She also tends to be frank, which is my preferred ways of working anyway and I’m always able to separate professional feedback from our personal friendship.

Do you wear a uniform? Nope.

Are you usually very busy, or is it slack? I’m always very busy and have been told to take it easy more than a million times at this point; can’t really afford to do that given how fast-paced everything is, though.

Do you get paid minimum wage, or above? Above.

What time of day do you usually work? I start at 9 AM and end at 6 PM, but 1-2 times a week I’ll extend beyond 6 to lessen my load for the next morning.

How many hours a week do you get? It’s supposed to be 40, but like I said overtime is a common occurrence. For the most part it’s not an issue for me because I get paid for it and I voluntarily take the OT anyway if it’s for finishing something I want to accomplish within the same day; the only time it’s grating is when someone schedules a call beyond work hours.

Would you like to keep this job your whole life? I’m only 25 and have a few things left on my to-do list in this company, so I don’t imagine staying in it forever. I’m perfectly fine, however, with staying in the same industry.

Why are you working this job right now? It pays good money and lets me access so many opportunities I wouldn’t even have thought about had I ended up at a different industry.

Are you saving or spending most of your money? Spending, but I’m making an active effort (ACTUAL NOW, hahaha) to save.

Do you deal with customers or clients? Clients. Our services include handling customers too, but that’s more on the digital/social media department’s work.

Are they generally agreeable? Eh, it’s a very stable 50-50. We have accounts who will easily go along with our recommendations and proposals, but there are others who can be stubborn. Even worse, there are also others who will change their mind on the fly, derailing whatever progress we’ve made on a campaign; this category of clients is also the likeliest to message at midnight or on weekends.

How do you react when they are not agreeable? Our team’s philosophy is always just to stand our ground and push our side because as the agency, we’re technically the ones trusted to know better. Sometimes they’ll give in, and sometimes we’ll have no choice but to go with whatever they want and just grind our teeth through it.

Have you ever been written up? What happened? Nope.

Are there any risks involved in your job? What are they? Not like physical risks or anything like that; it’s more on the toll it takes on you due to how fast-paced the job is. Burnout and exhaustion are things we look out for but fortunately we have a lot of mental health break days (like today) and we also have ‘rules’ we generally follow, like no calls are to be scheduled on Friday afternoons.

Have you ever forgotten to do something important? What happened? Yeah, it’s a common occurrence. It used to eat me up but after 2 1/2 years I just dust it off and move on. A missed deliverable isn’t going to lead to a third world war; and me panicking is never going to boost the team morale anyway.

Are you allowed to read/watch TV/play video games on the job? I do whatever I want to do on the job because I work from home and honestly because I am jaded enough to do so, lol. If I feel like taking a break, I’d go downstairs to have a bit of playtime with the dogs or play a few rounds of In the Seom on my phone.

What are your breaks like? Like I said, I make my own breaks and just schedule them around my to-do list for the day. When I get a bit of a lull (usually between 2-4 PM), that’s the time I catch my breath.

Do you ever get really bored at your job? Never an uneventful day in it; the most boring weeks would be around January when most of our accounts don’t really have any campaigns to brief us on yet.

How do you keep yourself entertained? I’m generous with the breaks I give myself; they’re my final thread to sanity lol.

Is your workplace clean? Who cleans it? That would be my room and I keep it clean for the most part. It only gets messy when I have to pack and ship stuff for media and influencers we send out stuff to.

Is your job physically demanding? Not for the most part, but being in PR we will sometimes have to mount activations that are largely physical – just this weekend I was part of a hike for one of my clients who was sponsoring said hike. In short, the day-to-day job itself isn’t physically demanding but it can be part of being in the industry.

What would happen if a robbery took place? I don’t have a clue, honestly. We don’t have a security guard who keeps watch and the office only has like 7-10 employees at most (when people do sign up for the F2F slots) so I’m guessing we’ll be pretty fucked. I should ask if there’s a button somewhere we’re supposed to click to alert the police...

What are your customers/clients’ biggest complaints? As far as I know we don’t get complains about our ways of working. If there were any, it’d be cascaded immediately to us anyway.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen happen at your job? Nothing in particular yet that would super stick out, but since we handle PR kits our office does become a warehouse of the most random shit quite frequently. Some days it’ll be running shoes and sports apparel, some days it’ll be 15 kg bags of dog food, sometimes it’s RTD chocolate milk; you never know the jungle you are to walk around hahaha.

Tell us about the time you were most upset at work. My dog of 14 years died and I couldn’t be with him during his dying moments nor grieve for him properly because I was stuck mounting an event for my least favorite client. I don’t think I ever gave my 100% for their campaigns after that and six months later we decided not to renew our contract with them.

If you’re upset, do you act any differently towards customers? I rarely get upset at work; it’s more often than not just feelings of stress. In those cases, I’ll most definitely be curt with clients. If I’m not feeling friendly on any given day, I’ll be transparent about it hahaha.

The phone rings, and you have to answer it. HOW do you answer? I work from home so I’ll use my phone as a reference – unless the person introduced themselves and briefed me about what they’ll be calling for, I will not be taking the call.

Is there a duty you really despise doing? I hate drafting contracts...too much at stake if you fuck up any word or have a typo on whatever money’s involved. Gives me too much anxiety and I wish they could just write themselves.

Is there a duty you love doing? Every single writing bit. I’ll always happily volunteer to write a script or a press release or whatever it is; I’ve never viewed it as just a task that needed to be done. Is there anything you are scared of at your job? Besides fucking up? Anything to do with money. I don’t know why I also have to be the one in charge of managing campaign budgets and invoices when I just signed up to do the PR side of things D:

Are there many things to laugh at? I wouldn’t say many but there are things that come up at least once a day.

What are the bathrooms there like? We have one and it’s alright. I like that it’s spacious and super clean and provides enough privacy.

How long do you plan to keep working there? Why? I have no idea, honestly. I’ve been told in a very subtle way, during a drinking sesh with my superiors, that I’ve been pretty much saved a seat at the table for the next position...which I have nothing but mixed feelings about. On one end, kind of cool they have that amount of trust in me and kind of makes me want to selfishly stick it out; on another note, I can’t help but mourn over it? The next position is already bordering the world of business development and networking, something I have no interest in. I went into PR because I like to write and because I love the field of communications; I was never in it to be so high up the ladder that my work suddenly becomes 90% business and 10% writing. At this point I’m pretty adamant in what I want to be doing, so it’ll be interesting to see how I react if I am ever going to be offered the gig.

Has anyone ever screamed at your job? Why? Nah.

Do you ever need to mentally prepare yourself for work? There are phases that I do, phases that I don’t. I’m currently in a phase where I have to, yes.

How do you wind down after a hard day’s work? Spend time with the dogs, find a bunch of shit to watch on YouTube, catch up on my social media feeds.

Is your job stressful? Yes.

Who would you recommend your job to? Anybody who specifically wants to be in PR. You know how food can be an acquired taste? It’s the same with PR. You have to like it, or at least have the balls to tough it out in the industry, to last in it.
