In that thread of thought, the RCCL production is actually a really good example of how much a wig styling can make or break the look overall.
#the oasis cast are responsible for most wig styling and maintenance themselves#they have a wig supervisor but they need to otherwise upkeep style#that's why - say - SAO's wigs were *remarkably* better styled than a lot of his cast mates#because not only was he in the show before *he makes and styles wigs*#so he knew what he was doing#or for example look at the glow up lee greenaway's wig took when he was in a different productions#with separate stylists#it's just interesting to look at how often the wigs are shapeless and drooping#because they don't get the usual upkeep and sometimes it works out and other times...#costuming#extemporize back chat#i see so many people say that they don't like how the oasis wigs look and i'm like there is a *reason* for that#the int tour is also an interesting example of this but like they *chose* to shape some of those wigs like thatTM#so...that's a choice
