selena gomez is one of taylor’s oldest and bestest friends and given that she is in the 22 liner notes, a huge part of taylor’s life, and maybe fruity herself it seems like possibly we don’t talk about her here at the blog enough!

i don’t want to do a timeline of selena and taylor’s friendship - you can read more about that here, but they met back in the day when they were both dating jonas brothers and to me this idea of finding a real friendship in the midst of these contrived promances is pretty adorable.

Julia Michaels is a singer/songwriter known for her song Issues.  I don’t know her sexuality but she at the least has gay vibes!  It seems they met around this time perhaps because Julia wrote on Revival.

Thank you for these! 🥰 17. How obsessively do you sit and stare at your fic after you’ve just posted and wait for feedback? I don’t. Well, not immediately. I try to distract myself for at least half an hour to an hour after posting because by the time I post I’ve already gone mental from finaFinalreRerereadFiNaldefDEFDEF.def x34 and I need to calm down. But after that I compulsively refresh AO3 (for the Beth/Rio tag) and depending on the time of day I start replying to comments or wait for it until morning. I don’t re-read my own fic until at least the day after (and inevitably fix some v obvs spelling mistakes I got blind for during edits). 18. Do you have a WIP that you keep telling yourself you’ll eventually get back to, but deep down you know that’s probably a lie? A little while ago I would have maybe said Wild at Heart, but I recently started editing the new chapter and now I’m feeling that story again (I got a bit lost with it over season 3, and it’s a long fic I’m not really used to writing – I had no oversight in my notes and outline and ugh). I think when I do publish it might have a bit of a different tone, especially because I think I progressed a lot over the past six months as a writer. But I have by now accepted that I will never re-write those earlier chapters, so I’m just going to move on and continue the story. BTW. If someone can recommend a/their Word Processor to get a better oversight in longer WIPs, please do! There’s no published WIP I won’t get back to from what I see now. I have a few in my WIP-folder that are a lost cause, main reasons are either because I either forgot I wrote it to begin with, or because I don’t like my style or plot anymore. 30. Beth smiles back stiffly. - from I See Your True Technicolors I don’t know, I really like doing these kinda scene-in-scene (or sentence) things, I don’t know if this has a name. 38. What does your writing process look like? How chaotic is it on a scale of 1 (very tame) to 10 (you can’t handle this kind of chaos)? Hmm that kind of depends what part of the process we’re talking about. Let’s roughly break that up in three parts: 1. Working out the idea (8/10): Really, really chaotic. This is just days or weeks of just flashes of ideas and plotpoints and lines of dialogue shooting through my brain. Haphazardly writing those down in various docs, on paper in between my work notes, or in the notes on my phone. When I finally know the rough outline of the story I go into; 2. Writing the fic (4/10): I’m a super chronological writer, I really move from scene A to B to C until I finally arrive at Z. But when I start writing I often only really know A, D, E, J, O, Q, Z – the rest will just grow or appear organically as I write. Sometimes it does mean I won’t write for a few days because I circle back to step 1 for a certain scene. A good example is the Artic Hunter Fairytale Beth tells Jane in Chapter 2 of  I See Your True Technicolors. I knew up front I was going to write a scene where we would see how this seemingly unweighted moment for Beth – she’s just telling a nighttime story – had a massive impact on Jane. There were some themes and motives I felt like needed to make an appearance: the more tangible reason of Jane’s quest, how young kids often hold their parents’ word as truth, and I needed it to be a true heartfelt moment between Beth and Jane. But before I wrote the first line of that scene I had no idea that would be the scene that it became.  So I do outline a bit, but I need to create enough room for myself for moments like that to happen. It’s one of the things I enjoy most about writing. It’s a bit of an organized mess within a tighter frame/outline. 3. Editing (7/10): I’ve really been perfecting my Editing skills over the past 6/7 months  – it’s not perfect, but you live and you learn. I spend more time working on the fic after I ‘finished’ it, really ramped up the spelling and grammar checks (I love you Word editor, but I also hate you), and take more and more care to make sure that all my dialogue feels IC ánd distinctive enough per character (especially the latter I feel like lacks in earlier WAH chapters). Why yes... yes she does. I like to HC most of them were done by John save her first one which he took her to get on a date. 

She has a fairly large sleeve that is all flowers that was done over the course a few weeks by John when Lily was a year old... MJ drew the design herself and John did the tattoo. 

She has small birds, similar to the tattoos John has along her ribs. I HC that her and John got the bird tattoos together on their first real date after they had been living together for several months but never actually had a proper date... 

On her ring finger of her left hand she has three little stars that mirror the stones of her engagement ring... 

she has others but these are the main one’s people would see or are majorly important. 

Any Piercings?

She had her tongue pierced when her John were dating but took it out around the time they decided to follow Joseph. 

Other Notable Features: 

Mary Jane is actually horribly self-conscious about her body and appearance, it’s part of the reason she always makes sure she looks very put together. This self consciousness is really reflected in the way she presents herself. Always looking like she spent hours getting ready (because she did) with perfectly matched outfits and impeccable make-up and hair... which is almost never seen in Eden’s Gate many with in the group say the only reason Joseph lets her vanity pass is because she is John’s wife.  

Random Fact:

MJ is an avid reader though rarely fiction. She instead really enjoys history and particularly books relating to crimes and murders (she jokes its to help her understand John) at one point she even brings up to John that Joseph isn’t trying to form a new Church he is starting a Cult after reading several books about The Manson Family. John tells her she is reading too much into similarities that aren’t really there and takes the books from her and suggest she reads something a little more pleasant...

Daisies: describe a moment when you felt free

Hmm, it can be both: normal school days, but where I felt really comfortable, warm, safe, happy etc. But also great days where I spend a lot of time with people(or also just with one person) that are important to me. For example when we went hiking, I felt super super great💕💕💓❤(thank you a lot mwuah) Another thing is when I am home alone and the weather is nice and I am done with my chores and can just lay on the bed and listen to nice music and not moving and just occasionally smiling.

Dovey: any paranormal/magical experiences?

Ouf, uhm I would have several things i could say here hmm

Uhm okay something like maybe I was once in a quite maniac-depressive episode? And that was this years' winter and I kinda hat two very strange and kinda scary things? Yeah idk

One was when I came back from the toilet at 3am and I was passing the living room rn to get to the bedroom and even though the lights were turned out everywhere I suddenly had a very different image in my head. So, I went into the living room, and it was dark when I did, but the next step it suddenly felt like the lights were turned on and suddenly something from the lamp started cracking and then kinda exploded and I saw fucking yellow and orange light and I immediately kneeled down and held my head to yk protect myself in case I get hurt? But... the next second I opened my eyes everything was just as dark and quiet. And idk then I kinda started crying in the bathroom bc I was scared and yeah(i would have understood it if I were sleepy or smth but I really was not)

And another thing was on the skiing week I was just sitting on the floor(like gays do)and listening and occasionally throwing in some stuff while friends were talking in our room and then I suddenly heard screams and I kinda couldn't hear the others for like 7 seconds and I nearly shat my pants bc fuck someone is screaming, somethings happening! And why is no one reacting?

* They have a bungalow in Derry they go to every two months or so. Bill loves Georgie too much, and Stan loves his mom as much as the next guy.

* Mike also went bleach blond, but after all Eddie’s worries of his hair falling out and Rich’s teasing, he dyed it back. He has his tongue pierced tho.

* eventually everyone went back to normal (except Eddie still has his tats and everyone still has ear piercings)

* When they first started out, they all went to a really nice tattoo parlor and got matching tattoos

jen is so fucking. Complicated. like she is at once one of the most talented and and most messy people on the team. like she always gets thrown and she’s really good at it and she’s really strong and makes a great bottom of the pyramid but sometimes. she just falls over. like there’s nothing even to trip over she just falls bc she’s a clumsy mess. god.

when you look at her, this obviously awkward tomboy lesbian, ur first thought is not cheerleader. and tbh she wasn’t even gonna be one at first. like she didn’t even know try outs were that day. she literally wandered into the gym in her fucking muscle top, confused, like ‘oh sorry i was going to play soccer in here’ but freddie immediately noticed her slight stature and strength and was like ‘hm…… maybe………… we should look into this’

she wears flannels or something flannel-patterned literally every day. like if it’s not an actual flannel it’s flannel vans or a snapback or a bracelet or leggings. you can’t stop it. the other cheerleaders are confused by how much flannel she actually owns. 

they dare her to construct a full flannel outfit. she pulls through.

sometimes she just fucking. climbs. they’re having a cheerleader sleepover and chanti is like ‘alright time for manicures! devin can you put the alcohol down. no, kristin, calm - fred - wait where the fuck -’ and jen is actually on top of the fridge, nerf gun in one hand and a bag of hot cheetos in the other, gun poised at devin’s drink

she is not just mischievous though obviously she’s also just such…. a good friend. like she genuinely loves with all her heart and she’s so sweet and kind. she goes with freddie when she wants to get her first tattoo and holds her hand the whole time. when someone in a poly relationship wants to bring multiple dates to prom and the headmaster won’t allow it she helps campaign for them. she consoles chanti when she and ash get into a fight. she takes kelsey on a date night to a cat shelter even though she’s allergic. (this really happened btw god i love jen.)

besides the ladylike gang, she and steven are Best Fucking Friends. they have sleepovers and skateboard and make fun of each other’s hair (even though jen actually loves steven’s hair, she thinks the blonde/silver is really cool) and they even go to church together sometimes (she’s not religious but she loves him so it’s cool). she’s also friends with niki, an underclassman, and they go to the gsa meetings and talk about how great their girlfriends are and go get spicy food. sometimes she, niki, and steven will all play video games together although niki and steven aren’t close.

okay i can go on about just jen all day but im gonna move on to jelsey lol

like i said jen takes kelsey to a cat shelter and kelsey Cries. and that’s when she knows she is In Love. she doesn’t say it but she knows.

kelsey likes to drink. a lot. and she’s v good at it. jen doesn’t drink as often but she’ll go with kelsey to parties and make sure she’s safe and occasionally listens to her drunken ramblings with raised eyebrows and takes snapchat pics and videos

they watch sad movies a lot. that’s their favorite activity. they both cry a lot. but on date night, for like a month straight, they just watch sad movies every time. me and earl and the dying girl, up, marley and me. (jen weeps at the last one.)

they take a lot of pictures for instagram. so many. it’s really ridiculous. and they often make other people take them. (you have no idea how many times zach has laid flat on the ground or ryan has climbed on top of something to take pictures of the two of them.) they’re VERY tumblr aesthetic wlw couple.

sexting is. so fucking funny. bc kelsey loves sexting but jen is not The Best at it and sometimes kelsey will start just bc she know jen will flounder which. jen is so cute when she flounders. god.

OKAY IM SORRY BUT IM BRINGING BACK THE PROM HEADCANON BC IT’S MY FAVORITE. okay so they are literally that couple that’s that one tumblr post - my femme wife, after spending three hours getting ready: okay babe ready to go. my butch ass, putting on a tank top: okay babe you look amazing let’s go. so like for prom, kelsey starts getting ready at 3:30 pm (the prom begins at 8 pm) and jen is done in 30 minutes by like 5, in a suit and a bowtie that matches kelsey’s dress, so she comes over and helps kelsey get ready. everyone is like “no you can’t see each other!!!!!1!!!1!” and they’re like “chillax we’re not getting married” and kelsey lets jen do her eyeliner bc jen is a pro.

I don’t know why but I keep finding myself in strange places. It started small; I had been walking home from school and decided to walk the long way past some old church. Not that big of a deal, I just wanted some fresh air. Its gotten weird and more often now. Normally I would talk to my friend Simon when things were bugging me but he's gone off the grid for the past couple months. Not even his Mum knows where he is. That’s not the only thing though, I keep seeing things. It's out the corner of my eye most of the time. A girl with pointy teeth, a boy with fangs, people with colourfull skin but not like dark, like pink or blue or an actual colour. It was worse last night. I swear I saw someone doing magic. He had horns like goats coming out of his head and bright green hair. His hands were sparky green and smoke was surrounding his hands. I figured I’d been a bit sleep deprived but now I can't help but thinking about it. I decided to try rest and nap but as my head hit the pillow I could feel a lump in my chest but ignored it. Its fine, just tired.

The next thing I see is a church. The church. The same church I keep walking too. Looking around I notice the sky had darkened to a deep blue, it must be around 9 at night. I try to stop my legs but its like I have no control. I couldn’t figure it out, was I blacking out or something or was I just walking like a corpse. This time, unlike the others, my feet dragged me all the way to the door. I stood in front of the grand door. The church was run down and must have been abandoned for years. The only people who come here are artists who want to draw it or me. That’s why it surprised me when I could hear people walking towards the door, talking. Thinking it might be a gangs hideout I run over to a bush and crouch down in it. I stare through the leaves as the door opened. Out came 3 people, I think. 2 of them had beauty like an angel. A tall light skinned boy with a shining sword in his hand. He had tats covering his skin and was dressed in shabby black clothing. He stood next to a girl who was gorgeous. She had ruby red lips to match her necklace and shiny black hair. She also bore the same tattoos. If it wasn’t for the 3rd I would have thought it was a gang. The 3rd was a small ginger; Clary, Si’s friend. I barely knew her but I knew she would never join a gang. Not if it endangered her or Si. “Theirs no one out here, Alec,” Clary whined. “And its cold let's just go back in.” “No,” his voice was stony and stern. “We need to check the perimeter at least.” “Come on brother,” The other girl spoke in a silky voice. “theirs no one here. I need to start dinner.” The other 2 paled slightly at her words. ‘strange’ I thought. But then it was replaced by ‘fuck, they're looking for me!’. I was right, they started searching. I didn’t dare moved as they searched. I barely breathed. They looked around for 5 minutes before going back in. Only not with a key. Alec put his hand on the door and said “I, Alec Lightwood, request entrance in the name of the Clave and the Angel Raziel.” The door opened for them and the 3 walked in. My jaw slackened. The once damaged church was now a grand cathedral with towers. It stayed like that until the door shut behind them and changed back to a decrepit church. Gathering all the courage I had I stood up and this time it was me that dragged my feet to the door. As I stood in front of the door my heart steadied from his rapid beating. My breathing went back to normal as soon as I stood in front of the door. I was so drawn to it that I tried to turn the handle. When it appeared locked I frowned. Until I decided to try what they had done. “I, (Y/N) (Y/L/N), request entrance in the name of, um the Clave? And the um angel Raziel?” my voice was weak and came out as a questioned but even still the door opened. I began to walk through the building but it was clear it wasn’t an ordinary church. It was lined with high tech equipment as well as fighting equipment. I tried to sneak around though no one cared who I was. They didn’t question it. I stood at the entrance of what looked like a control room. fancy computers were set up all over it and people also covered in tats bustled around the room. it was like I was in a trance until I heard “(Y/N)!” I snapped my head in Clary's direction. She stood with the same 2 as before but also with Jace and Simon. Simon. “What the hell are you doing here?! How’d you get in?” This gathered the attention of everyone else and I felt someone grab me with a dagger to my throat. “(Y/N)” I heard Si cry out but I wasn’t listening. I gripped the man's arm trying to pull the glowing dagger from my throat. “GET OFF ME!” I yelled. It took a struggle but I managed to get him off though I stumbled and fell. I fell, sprawled across the floor and tried to scramble to my feet but something wrapped around my ankle. I looked at it and saw a silver band around it. Looking up I saw it was the girl from before who had got me with a whip. She began to drag me towards her and I kicked as hard as I could. It didn’t work. The 2 guys with tats next to her, Alec and some blonde, hosted me up and held me by my shoulders. “Look, Clary. If this is your gang's turf or whatever I can go but like,” I tried to speak quickly. “please don’t kill me. You know me, were friends. Kinda.” I looked over at Si who seemed too stunned to speak. “Si, buddy, a little help.” The 3 with tats all shared a confused look with each other. “You’re one of them?” Simon said with a look as though I had kept a huge secret from him. apparently, I had. “You're a shadowhunter!?” “What the fuck- no Simon! I don’t even know what you’re talking about!” It didn’t matter since the blonde grabbed my arm abruptly and began to draw something on my hand with some shiny thing. “Ahh!” I yelled. It felt like he was carving something with fire in my hand. “Jace!” Clary yelled and tried to pull him off. After he was done he dropped me to the ground and I clutched my hand. “What the fuck man!?” I looked at the black mark on my hand and it stung like hell. “I gave you the sight rune. And since you’re not dead, you must be a shadowhunter so you can quit lying.” I glared at him and he smirked. I spat at his feet and turned back to my hand. However, Jace had brought his foot up and kicked my chin. The kick sent my head back and I lay on the ground with a thud. I groaned and brought my hand to the back of my head. “Jace!” said the voice of the nameless girl. “He spat on me!” he tried to defend himself. “He’s a Mundie!” she cried while walking down to me. She crouched down next to me and brushed my hair from my face. “And a very cute one.” She added. “Thanks, but help,” I spoke weakly and bringing my hand out from under my head. My fingers were stained red but my vision was getting spotty. The floors were concrete so when my head went back it must have cracked. I heard them moving around me and talking frantically but I closed my eyes and let sleep consume me. The last thing I heard was the girl say “Hey, don’t do that!” and shaking my arm. None the less I drifted off.
