idk I think I would be more interested in tes lore if any of the unique stuff was actually incorporated in the games in any way
#buzz#i know some people like reading the books#and i think they CAN be a very useful worldbuilding tool for expanding upon things that are presented in the story or displaying the#...world views of people within it#like in real life#but if you wanna talk about how interesting and weird the elder scrolls is and your only source is a series of obscure books that are not#...reflected by in-game content in any way its not real to me sorry#bc like they do this exclusively and for EVERYTHING#yeah the nature of ‘deep lore’ is that it’s not immediately visible but if all of the interesting things are ‘deep lore’ then it’s just#…a pussy move i think#they get credit for writing this cool and subversive lore that is then either ignored or directly in conflict with the game design#and often someone will bring up ‘deep lore’ that’s really either just some developer’s headcanon or a probable metaphor#and take it as gospel#tldr there’s such a huge disconnect between tes lore and the actual games that it holds no weight for me personally
