Thank you everybody for the suggestions on caring for my hair now that it's growing back curly!
I have two more questions: 1. Are there any leave-in conditioners you recommend specifically? I have very fine, thin hair (just a lot of it lol) so heavier conditioners would probably be too much, but I have no idea where to start 2. Are Lush's curly hair products good? I mostly use Lush's shampoo/conditioner/body wash*, because they are very very clear on what is in each option and I have a lot of allergies and scent sensitivities, but what I have for them is not from their curly hair products section. The only one I could find in that section that didn't have coconut, mint, or cinnamon was their "Power" conditioner, so if I get something from Lush that's what it will be *I started using Lush shampoo when I first cut my hair super short as a "I can buy a tiny bottle of shampoo and have it last a very long time with short hair and it smells nice!" thing and then when I got asthma it became "uh oh these are now the only shower products I know won't make me wheeze"
#the person behind the yarn#when I had long hair I did not use lush products because it was waaay expensive#but when the tiny bottle lasts like a year or a year and a half it's more doable lol#they changed their formula for the shampoo I used to use and I can't use it anymore :(#now I use one of their shampoo bars#also pretty much the only line of products they have that does not have any of the smells I can't have#are their citrus things? and even then not some of them#but I love the citrus things I can have! the scent doesn't really linger but it smells nice in the shower and doesn't make me wheeze#and that is a huge bonus for me! shower asthma attacks suck#just like. for the record. 0/10 do not recommend

throwback to when shea moisture changed the ingredients for the shampoo I used to swear by with no indication that they did so. a bunch of those weird things are dual emollients/thickeners which is weird considering how thin the new version was compared to the old one.
this is from 2018 tho. the product is their "raw shea butter deep moisturizing shampoo". check out the current ingredients lmao
from what I'm seeing online, nothing was done to notify consumers about this formula change either.
the new ingredients are generally rated as "good" for skin by the paula's choice ingredient dictionary but if your skin is picky then you can't trust a brand that likes to quietly change ingredients. not to mention that the overall quality went downhill yet the prices for this stuff increased significantly.

It won't be too late to transition.
Today marks my one year of being on t and with the current political climate, I'll celebrate somewhere, but that's not really where my mind is at right now. So instead I'm writing this. Don't give up hope. It won't be too late for you to transition.
You can do any of it at any age. And until recently it was usually done as an adult once you were financially independent and could afford to transition and restart your life compeltely over. You don't have to be a child or a teenager to start and see results and eventually find a body you're happy in. Until recently, transitioning that young wasn't even seen as possible for most people. There is no time limit. No countdown to when it won't help.
I know how much it hurts to have to wait. And with all of the attacks on trans right and trans existence and bans on our healthcare, it's making access to hrt and surgeries and other gender affirming care and changing names and genders on documents so much harder or impossible to get. But. I promise you, there's always still time even if you have to wait.
One day exists. One day will come. And when you get there, hormones and surgeries and changing your name and clothes and hair will still be possible just because you're not 15, 18, 25, 30...
I know how much it hurts to wait. How painful it is to have to exist in a body that is wrong and be called a name that isn't yours and have others constantly misgender you. And there is so much to grieve over the years where you want to get to be your true self but can't. And please, grieve those years. But don't give up hope and grieve your future ones prematurely.
I was 21 by the time I had vocabulary to name my experiences properly. I spent my childhood and teen years existing in unnamed discomfort because trans people weren't even a concept in the popular conciousness, much less being nonbinary. And I spent my twenties slowly trying to carve out places for myself to exist while living with family who I had to remain closeted around for my safety and unable to access care because of cost.
I'm turning 30 this summer. I moved into my own place and it took me two years to get my name and gender changed on my birth certificate and ID. I'm finally getting top surgery this summer. My first attempt at getting on t lasted three months before the pandemic hit and I lost access. I moved again to a safer place and eventually got back on hormones. My one year anniversary for being on t is today. I've seen so many changes and things are still changing and for the first time it really does feel like I have my entire life ahead of me. My life wasn't over because I couldn't transition earlier.
But also, hormones and surgery and legally changing your name and gender marker aren't the only ways to transition. They're just the ones that are the hardest to acess. Whether it's finances or safety or governments making it illegal, there are still other ways you can carve out a space for yourself to exist.
You can find a name for yourself. And whether it's something other people use, a select few, or just yourself in your head, that is still your name. (You can also try and find nicknames that are less painful to hear. Make an email address and sign up for mailing lists with your name so even if it's just automated advertisements your name is still spoken. Use the name with store rewards tied to your phone number and say it belongs to a relative if anyone asks. Online isn't real life, but you can use whatever name and pronouns you want when nobody really knows who you are.)
You can change your hair and clothes and the products you use. It might not be to the extent you want to, but pieces here or there can help. (Socks and underwear that nobody sees. Soaps and shampoo and deodorants that you can say work better or irritate your skin less if asked why you use it (usually the only difference in formula is which fragrance is added). Wearing hand-me-downs of your chosen type with the claim of saving money. Cut your own hair short and say you messed up but it will grow out or let it grow and say you're planning on donating it. Brushing or styling it differently.) Anything you have a plausibly non-trans reason for can be a small less risky way to affirm your gender.
And it's ok if you can't do any of those safely. You're not any less trans because you have to be in the closest or you're not ready to come out of it regardless of the reason.
It may suck to wait for the bigger things. The ones that will make the most difference. But it doesn't matter what age you finally get to them, they'll still help. Your life isn't over and your chances of being able to transition in a way that is happy and fulfilling don't go away because you can't do it yet. There's no age limit.
It won't be too late to transition.
(Keep your negativity off this post. If you need to vent, make your own. If this post doesn't vibe with you, just ignore it. Leave it a space for people who need the message.)

Baby Info for Writers
Warnings ⚠
⚠ mentions of death, mention of breastfeeding, mention of umbilical cord, human feces/urine, burping up food, baby cries, cussing(me) ⚠
Making this because you do not put the bottle in the microwave.
As previously stated, you do NOT put the bottle in the microwave.
Instead, heat up water in a pot and put the baby bottle with formula/breast milk in the heated water. Check to see if its the right temperature by squirting the milk on your wrist or inner forearm. It can't be too hot or too cold. (Newborn babies will eat 8 or 12 times a day, every 1-3 hours)
▶Newborns do NOT eat solids.
I've seen this too many times. Yes, babies eat but its milk. They don't eat solids until like 4 or 6 moths old. (Idk if demon babies get a pass if its fast aging but at least give it some time and not right after birth.)
▶Bottles
Baby bottles come in different styles and sizes. Best bottles to get for new moms is the ones that have small to big. Usually labeled "grow with baby"
Old fashioned fic/story? Glass bottles.
Feeding: If breast fed, mom will have blanket/ loose shirt/or other kind of easy to remove top to cover themselves while feeding baby.
Depending on era/customs/region: breastfeeding is not covered.
[What's the one lady called? The mother they go to when the (mom) can't feed/has trouble feeding/or doesn't want to feed. There's a name for them but yeah!] ⬇
They were called a wet nurse!
▶Burping: burp baby after meal. Have a rag ready so clothes don't get ruined. Pat their back gently.
They burp up a little bit, sometimes a good amount. (Look up on google for more details.)
Bonding with the baby
This happens after birth and its the skin to skin contact. Make sure the chest area (so the baby can be soothed by the heartbeat) is clean. No perfume or anything that will irritate the babies skin.
Handling a newborn: someone else wants to hold the baby? I better see them with washed hands and up to date with vaccinations. Babies have a weak immune system.
Newborns
[They sleep a lot and cry a lot.]
Remember newborns are fragile, no shaking the baby or you'll kill them. I'm serious, that's a thing. Support the baby's head and neck when cradling or setting them down on their bed/changing bed. (Unsafe to have them on your bed, look it up for more info.)
▶The baby head is very fragile. There are soft spots. Look up baby skull image if you want a better understanding.
▶Don't bounce roughly, or toss them up in the air. They are fragile, what the fuck. Don't.
Sponge Baths for new borns. No tub yet.
The whole umbilical cord, gotta wait till it falls off and that they are healed, then the baby can get a bath with a little tub and soft rags/sponge. Warm water, not hot or cold.
▶Hygiene: a small kit for nail care, small soft tooth brush for when teeth come in. Lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and baby perfume.
Extra: They have specific cries. So if they are hungry, need a burp, need a changed diaper, hot/cold, overstimulated, or tired. There is a cry.
They also cry when sick, upset stomach, or when they need to be swaddled.
Sometimes they just cry too. [Sigh]
Sleep schedule is tricky. There is a way to get it in tuned with parent(s) but I'd look it up because I don't know.
Diapers/changing cloth
I'ma say it straight. Babies shit and pee a lot. So your fictional baby needs a lot of diapers and wipes. (Some babies are allergic to the fragrance wipes) Formula fed babies have really smelly dumps. [At least the one I knew]
▶Diapers come in different sizes as the baby grows. (Babies grow fast)
▶Baby bag: for the diapers, bottles, pacifiers, extra clothes, and blankets. Also a changing mat.
▶Cloth: the cloth wrap. Do not re-use. Throw it away. They just shat in it, do NOT re-use.
Baby Powder
If its an old fashioned kind of fic, then yeah. They used baby powder.
*But have you seen the health problems that come with it? Just look into it if you want but do not use baby powder with girls.*
(Health issues and some babies can be allergic)
Clothes
Babies grow fast. So they'll be needing a good amount of clothes. Size depends on the baby's build. (Some are big and some are small) Choose what fits best. Make sure its comfortable and soft.
[You can check a size chart on google or look some at the store if you're really curious.]
▶Newborn clothes: caps (keep head warm) , mitts (so they don't scratch themselves), and little baby booties. Very soft fabrics.
Safety
The most obvious thing.
Crib, stroller, car seat. Parent(s) will make sure that it is the best of the best and that the baby's safety is first.
Or the next best thing if its too expensive.
Baby proofing the house. (Look up the stuff on google)
[lol I just remembered that a good amount of baby proof items are used for cats]
Entertainment
Rattles, stuffed animals, bouncer thing, little play walk thing. (Phones/tablets-idk)
Search up the toys just to be safe but there is a lot. Babies are expensive. Children are expensive.
I hope this helps! Most of the information here is something I learned while babysitting but there was some I had to look up.
~Seline, the person.

hey ashley! hope all is well. i think I’ve seen you mention that you have natural hair if so i have a quick question. what’s some of your favorite products? i’m newly natural and so overwhelmed with all the different brands and product lines.
hey babe! yes, i do have natural hair. congrats on taking the plunge 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾 it definitely is overwhelming at first, and there are so many products out there, it's easy to become a product junkie. however, ultimately, trying things are the only way you'll know whether something works for your hair. everyone's hair reacts differently to different things, so never feel that there are only certain products you should use or there is only one method you should be doing on your hair. do whatever works for you! 💜
now to answer your question. for reference, i would say i have fine, 4a hair (if you're into typing) that's normal porosity, and i have a lot of it. so as the years have gone on, i've had to modify my routine to try my best to prevent single strand knots and to cut down on washing time. as of now, every wash day i prepoo to detangle, i shampoo my hair in twists, i deep condition, and then i style using the LOC method. i have a mix of products i'm trying to use up, but i'll highlight the ones i come back to.
Brands I love and have been using for years: Melanin Haircare, Soultanicals, Miche. All black-owned businesses ✊🏾
Prepoo: African Pride prepoo, but I ran out, so the past couple wash days I've been using my big bottle of Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch detangler
Shampoo: honestly, this varies. I have a lot of different ones that I've been giving a go, because I've been trying to find a clarifying one that i like enough to keep repurchasing. I do like the Miche shampoo, and when it comes to clarifying, I've lowkey been using Mane & Tail lol (we'll see if I repurchase that one).
Deep conditioners: This is where I don't really have product loyalty, because I loveeee deep conditioners, and love to try all different kinds! When it comes to brand, I'm always gonna rep Soultanicals--been using their products pretty much since I first went natural
Leave In: I've been using the Melanin Haircare leave-in for years! You get quality ingredients and more bang for your buck. Also, they're in Ulta and Sephora now, so it's much easier to just go in the store and get when you need it. I also love the Soultanicals Mango Dip and have been using for years. Recently, I've also been using that Aunt Jackie's Knot on My Watch detangler because I bought a big bottle of it from Marshall's because why not, it was like $11 for a gallon lol. And it actually works pretty well!
Oil: I'm not picky, but I use Melanin Haircare/Miche/Ecoslay. I've used Melanin the longest and it's the best bang for your buck, but Ecoslay smells really good!
Cream- depending on if I'm doing a twist out or more of a wash and go, I use Melanin Haircare or Miche or Eden Bodyworks. Melanin is more of a butter, but other brands like Miche and Eden Bodyworks and have more definition and hold, if that's what you're looking for. I think I don't really have a favorite--I'm just using up my stash lol
Gel: I used to really love Wetline Extreme when my hair was shorter. But now that it's longer and tangles easier (plus, I think they changed their formula), it's just not doing it for me anymore. I would still give it a try--it may work for you! That and Ecostyler, though Eco made my scalp tingle ominously the one time I've used it, so I can't really speak to how well it works. Other people love it though. I also have used As I Am curling jelly from the very beginning of my journey, though it's definitely more of a lightweight gel. I've also been using Dippity Do because I got it at Marshalls for cheap with my Aunt Jackie's, and it works pretty well, though it also has a lightweight hold.
Good luck babe! Hope you find something that works for you--let me know if you have any more questions 💜

So I am sitting here and having thoughts about how budgeting time/energy with a disability is a lot like budgeting money on welfare or a minimum wage part time job.
I'll preface this by saying: I have always had a kind of issue where I'm way more self-aware about really mundane things than anyone is willing to believe of someone who looks like a young woman and sounds like a 5 year old girl. And I am... off baseline, a little weird, my flags are beige and shrimp coloured. So when I assert that something is true about myself or my life, I get a lot of push back that's like "oh sweaty, everyone does that tho, which means you too." or "No one is really actually self aware about that kind of thing." or "You must not actually be doing things as strictly as you -think- you are." Right? And we'll get into an example here in a minute...
But I also like self-experimentation. You learn a lot testing things out for yourself. I'm never afraid to put my money where my mouth is and actually try something, even if I know it won't work, so I can document exactly how and why it's failing. I'd say I am open to surprised, but... and don't hate me for this... I am never generally surprised.
So back when I was working my first job, my second job, and later on welfare while disability faffed around... I'd get a lot of people trying to give me "budgeting advice" and I would be like "Actually, my money is going where it has to go, and 'budgeting' won't change anything"... and they'd give me one of those "Oh sweaty..." replies and shake their heads to themselves about me being self-destructively deluded.
So for years I kept a notebook of all the money I had coming in, and everything I spent it on, and how much went to savings. And every month I would get money, pay my rent, buy some food, pay for really basic necessities like soap or shampoo, very cheap and occasional makeup when I wore any [that I would use till it was gone regardless of expiry dates]... Any clothing I actually needed for work or practical reasons, and very occasional other misc things like crafting supplies or whatever, the bus if I needed it... And every month I would come in WAY under what they told me I should be spending, and the rest went to savings.
Because the amount they lay out for every person to spend on things like transportation, eating out, entertainment, makeup and that sort of thing is just money I was never spending. Even when I got comfortable buying books, media and art supplies, I was just never going to spend as much on that as most people my age were going to spend on makeup, clothes, fancy products, switching out their home decor, impulse shopping, taxis, fast food, movies, etc and so on.
So all the advice that when you keep a budget you see where you are spending money that you just don't have to and can cut back to have the things you really value... Didn't apply to me. Just as I was originally asserting, and yet until I had bank statements, I kept a monthly record of spending for just utter ages to prove that point on paper if anyone ever asked about it, because they did, because I was poor.
If anything, keeping track of things like that made me occasionally spend more, because I could see how "good" I just naturally was with money and how much it was defying expectations. Through my 20's I spent way more on art supplies than I otherwise would have because it was my only expense and around disabilities I had some free time on my hands.
But now, without a credit card for shopping online, even before the plague that was all of my extraneous spending. I have thrifted my clothes locally for my whole life 80% of the time or more because I just do not have a construct in my head about "new" clothes having more value or meaning anything. I disinfect my makeup with 70-90% alcohol and apply it using methods that avoid contaminating the container, so until the formula breaks down from age...? Also I stopped wearing makeup for gender reasons. I can't eat out at all anymore due to plague and food allergy reasons. I have never really enjoyed going to theaters that was something I did to have a social life. I have never gone to a club [a strip club once], I have been to a bar like 3 times [I grew up in one, my mom was a bar tender, waitress, and occasional bouncer her whole career].
And usually, when I want something nice, its cheaper and more engaging to make it for myself. I'm picky, I get to have what I want that way.
So in a post plaguapocalypse world, with no credit card to my name and none I can use for shopping online, where I can't even go out for coffee without it being added risk I don't need? I'm right back to spending like I did when my budget was 200$. I buy food, I buy little treats, I buy stuff I need at the hardware store when I need it, I buy soaps or whatever, no makeup, no new clothes I have clothes already, no going out, I walk everywhere due to plague reasons...
My bank statement looks like, 28th-ish onward: Get Chob, Get pension, Get tax money, pay rent, pay phone bill, pay internet bill, buy groceries, put rest in savings.
Every 3-4 ish months there's the added items of: Get more tax money, get random supplies at Walmart and the dollar store or hardware store, buy 100$ of alcohol mostly for mouth sanitizing.
Once a year: Top up account I use for buying things online from people who take paypal not backed by credit [currently buying games when they go on dirt cheap on steam], maybe buy a birthday present for myself?? Or seasonal treats? In the fall I do groceries for all winter, but then all winter I put everything into savings after my bills are paid.
I also don't buy gifts -or supplies to make gifts- for other people anymore because I have no friends and stopped talking to my mom :/
And most pre-prepared foods even from the grocery store have stuff in them I can't have due to MCS or allergies. Or they have too much iodine or whatever.
So my worker thought I might be doing a fraud when I started asking about what kinds of savings I am allowed to have, because we are in an economic crisis and the amount you get on a disability pension should not, by any means, be enough for a basic quality of life, let alone to save up, and my rent is 1000$... I asked about having an RDSP vs an LDSP and because I was able to save money at all she started grilling me about whether I had a job I wasn't reporting or other income and then insisted that in order to answer my general questions at all she needed a year of all my bank statement so she could "see what I was talking about"... When the question was whether an RDSP was exempt from the asset limit [it's not, apparently] and whether I had to claim the interest on my savings account as income [you don't]. Answering these questions did NOT -in fact- require bank statements, but I am starting to see why no one wants to ask questions.
I mean, think about that for a second, we are being given so little compared to the cost of living that our workers think it should be entirely impossible to save up any money at all, or to financially plan for the future, without doing fraud. Even asking questions gets you audited. But that's slightly off-topic.
And it isn't something I am doing because I think I don't deserve nice things, or out of some sense of moral obligation... I just don't -enjoy- going out, and have little interest in the clothes and makeup or fancy products that are available. I am easily overstimulated and smells bother me and I like to sit alone at home and build something, or create something digital or do a little craft, have some damn crops in the ground somewhere that I have the outdoor space to tend to preferably so I can eat fresh veggies.
And I resist spending any money I saved up on things like fancy furniture because I am trying to have enough to live in a house... But I could probably stand to start replacing my furniture [Now is the worst time to do it though so I think I will wait till the cost of real wood comes down]... I'm just easily satisfied and particular, peculiar, and not very social and I 0% buy into constructs that would compel me to feel like I "need" makeup, or clothes or body products etc... Also I am not trying to attract anyone, and advertisements don't really work on me. My autistic gay swag insulates me from spending money.
And I had a perfectly good sense of this when I was a teen, and then later when I was in my 20s. I heard the way other people talked about spending money and things they "needed" and I knew that wasn't me.
And as far as money on crafting supplies goes... Everyone needs a hobby and that is part of a basic quality of life. It's cheaper than going out. I don't take vacations or have a car, etc... I don't date.
And if you were ever at my side while I bought some new clothes or spent on something I didn't have to or that you couldn't understand the necessity in, there is a very good chance it's because spending money/shopping is a 'social activity', I had wanted/needed those things for a while anyway, or I had a craft in mind for them, and I did that with you there instead of spending money "going out", and I never actually spend that way when I am alone, you just happened to take me physically to a place to buy things that I don't normally bother going to on my own. I have -had, anyway- a very limited social circle and wasn't going back there with anyone else either.
So you might ask "why don't you have mad savings then!" Well, 1. I keep being forced to move by circumstances, 2. I keep having to pick up the slack in various ways and with various supplies for roommates, or having to support someone other than myself, 3. I keep picking up the slack on bills for roommates and family members, 4. having your life turned upside down by bad relationships and bad roomies on a constant basis is generally expensive, 5. The cost of living is utterly balls to the wall out of line and I am on a pension, 6. Not for nothing, but there are things you buy when disabled that you wouldn't otherwise need to get or maintain, like canes, carts, shower chairs, etc... and 7. I do, actually, once again, have quite decent savings, despite it all.
And I want to stipulate again, I do not think it is HUMANE to expect other people to be like this, no matter how poor or disabled, if this is not their natural inclination.
So, I'll say again: The money is going where it needs to go, and nowhere else, and budgeting does nothing, for me personally, because there isn't anything that I could possibly make myself more self-aware about.
Maybe that's different for 99.9% of people! I encourage other people to not only have a budget, but keep track of what they -actually- spent on! It's good practice! I did it for years! The worst you find out is that you don't need it! Or that you did IG...
But the thing is, when you have a very limited resource, and set things it HAS to go towards with no exception, and either no room in the budget for anything else, or no interest in anything else... The resource goes where it needs to go and that's it. Writing it out on paper changes nothing.
That's true of the poor who spend all their money on food and bills.
That's true of the disabled who spend all their time and energy on just maintaining their environment and whatever limited hobbies they need to stay sane [or at least functional].
The only time a planner or bullet journal help me is when I have enough energy/constitution to be doing more than the bare minimum of maintenance and cleaning, or when I at least don't have to spend all my extra energy on extra organizing because of another move.
And that's the hard truth of time management for some disabled people, even those of us who also happen to have adhd or autism... Basically, what needs to get done is going to get done and nothing else, and writing it down doesn't necessarily change anything.
Some of use will benefit from "time budgeting" some of us just won't. I encourage you to experiment with time management methods because if you find something that does help you, it tends to unburden your whole life a little... I benefit from a really scratchy bullet journal when I actually have some energy and good health to spread around.
But I find that a lot of able bodied people, and even otherwise abled ahdhers or autistics have it in their heads that disabled people -or otherwise disabled people- lack time and energy in a day because they aren't being aware enough of how they are spending it, or aren't managing the symptoms of adhd+ as well as they could be, like it's 'just' unmanaged time-blindness or something... And they just straight up overlook that management isn't always the issue, a lack of energy or physical health sometimes is, and that -yes- some people are perfectly self-aware about how their time and energy is being spent, even with adhd.
Sometimes when you stack physical disabilities on top of neurodivergence, it renders some neurological symptoms 100% beside the point. If depression is making me feel tired and not like cleaning sometimes, it doesn't really matter if I am gauging whether I clean by how physically hard it is to move my limbs without pain, and gratefully rushing to clean my house whenever I can without it feeling like I am damaging my own body by doing it, for example.
This also goes for this weird new brand of aggression I keep seeing where some ADHDers seem to think that people in my position are talking about time management or "time blindness" issues like it's 'some unique thing that only we personally experience' "oh silly you" when actually we are describing how our OTHER DISABILITIES -do- Uniquely pile on top of time-blindness or actively make time blindness irrelevant. Me not being aware of how long it takes to shower and get ready genuinely doesn't impact anything or fucking matter, when it takes me 2-12 TIMES longer than everyone else to do those things, randomly, by no predictable pattern or schedule, because of my other disabilities. Not being aware of how long it "should" take to walk somewhere doesn't ever matter when it genuinely DOES take you up to 2 hours to walk there. You have to set that 2 hours aside for it regardless of whatever effort you could theoretically put into timing yourself or constructing better "time awareness". I might have time blindness but I also have "genuinely takes me 12 times longer to do everything" disorder [chronic fatigue, and 7 or more other physical disabilities].
I don't think I am uniquely experiencing time blindness, I think you are overlooking how it impacts someone's planning when an appointment and recovering from it GENUINELY DOES take up the whole day, even when that is the only thing they are doing and they are being perfectly efficient about it.
The thing is, keep track of it on paper or not, I am going to get through what I get through and the rest just isn't getting done yet. Budgeting the time I have in a day is a lot like budgeting for having 200$ left after bills. I shouldn't -have- to show my work on paper endlessly for anyone to believe me, or believe I know myself and my own life.
Sometimes operating at 100% efficiency and inhuman effectiveness with disability or poverty looks like you are only half-assing everything.

Divine Locks: A Dream Come True for My Hair!
For years, I've struggled with thin, lifeless hair. No matter what shampoo or conditioner I tried, the results were always underwhelming. My hair grew slowly, lacked volume, and seemed prone to breakage. I felt quite self-conscious about it, especially when I saw all the luscious locks on social media. That's when I stumbled upon Divine Locks' new hair offer.
A Science-Backed Formula for Healthy Hair
Intrigued by the claims of faster growth and increased volume, I decided to give Divine Locks a go. What really drew me in was their focus on a science-backed formula. Their website [avoid mentioning URL] details the ingredients and their benefits, including essential vitamins, minerals, and hair-supporting nutrients like Biotin. This transparency instilled confidence, as I knew exactly what I was putting into my body.
Nourishing My Hair from the Inside Out
Taking the capsules daily became a breeze. They're small and easy to swallow, and haven't caused any stomach upset. After about a month of consistent use, I started noticing a change. My hair seemed to have a newfound strength and elasticity. It was easier to manage and style, and even held a curl for longer. But the most remarkable difference was the growth! My hair was visibly longer and thicker, and the flyaways that plagued me for years were diminishing.
A Brighter and Bouncier Mane
Now, after three months on Divine Locks, my hair is the healthiest it's ever been. It has a beautiful shine and bounce, and feels incredibly soft to the touch. I can confidently wear it down without feeling self-conscious, and I've even received compliments on how much thicker and fuller it looks. It's a genuine confidence booster, and I can't thank Divine Locks enough.
More Than Just Hair Growth
It's important to note that Divine Locks isn't just about hair growth. Since starting the supplements, I've also noticed an improvement in my overall nail health. They're stronger and less prone to breakage, which is a welcome bonus!
A Recommendation for Healthy Hair Seekers
If you're looking for a way to achieve healthier, stronger, and more voluminous hair, I wholeheartedly recommend Divine Locks. Their science-backed formula and focus on natural ingredients make them a standout choice. Plus, the results speak for themselves! Give your hair the nourishment it deserves and see the difference for yourself.

December 10 - 2023 Sunday
11:31pm
Up a little late because reasons. This morning I was going to give Sporticus a bath before my shower but Daisy called while she drove to the ren fair so I cooked breakfast instead while she did that. After she arrived, I gave Sporticus that bath. I used Mane and Tail shampoo this time which worked much better than my usual shampoo. She's probably cleaner than she's ever been. Then I took my shower and made coffee after. I tried putting a little nutmeg in the coffee grounds which worked. While I drank my coffee, I streamed Skyrim for 2 hour to 0 viewers but it was fun, I am just there to play the game. Then Daisy called on her way back from the fair and I made lunch while we talked. I made beef rice a roni with canned roast beef and whatever kind of savory vegetables I could find. She got home and I ate lunch and then tuned into XQC for a good while. I mostly watched him and played Cities Skylines in the afternoon. Eventually I tried switching to Hell Let Loose but I tried to join someone while I was already loading into a game which crashed it and it erased all the unit customization I did and reset all other settings. Daisy called again so I gave up on that. She was having problems with her mom and sister which sucked, I hate that situations like that bother her. After some ranting, we watched Barbie in the Nutcracker which she hadn't watched yet and it was hilarious. Then we looked at some things before getting in VRchat. We did some cozy/winter world hopping and ended it with laying together while watching vaporwave Christmas commercials. When it was bedtime, she got upstairs in record time and I played a little Neopets. My dinner was scattered so I made my chicken after she went to sleep. I made Great Value chicken which in the past was actually good microwaved but they've changed the formula a few times and now it kinda sucks in general. At one point they had REALLY good chicken strips, I only got one bag of those before it changed. Now they get too hard in the oven and can't be cooked effectively in the microwave without overcooking the edges to the point they can't be chewed. Maybe the only better way to do it now is in a lidded pan with humidity control. Again before bed I did a lil something. A long time ago I made the rule that I can't perform my special skill after eating dinner, I'm just too full. I tried anyways because I was desperate but I couldn't do it so I settled for something else. Kinda weird talking about my sexual events like it's something I'll cringe at if I read later but it does feel important to talk about sometimes. This time it's because it made me late to bed and I won't be doing dishes until tomorrow morning because of it.

Bought a scalp scrub yesterday, after weeks of despairing that my naturally wavy hair seems to keep falling flat (even when it’s humid which should be impossible).
Today I’ve truly struggled to properly comb my hair, and I’m delighted.
#it just proves that my regular shampoo has definitely changed formula and it's in the bin now#I'm using a shampoo and conditioner for curly hair now and this scalp scrub ties it all together nicely#that said - the store where I bought the scrub also used to sell my favourite soap#fiji green tea soap. brilliant stuff. the entire house smells of fresh green tea#but bc the store formula is to be completely vegan it means no bees wax in soaps which means mine can't be made and I'M SAD#was advised their new lemon soap#it's decent I guess#it's not artificial lemon#it's the proper stuff that you smell when you've just cut a lemon open#but my house doesn't smell of it :(#what a weird thing to want from something that's supposed to clean you#anyway#the scrub and the new lemon soap have brought back some joy to taking a shower#for a while with shampoos that failed and soaps that smelled like ironing laundry#the joy was just gone#I mean it's basic hygiene but I take my pleasure where I can alright#and fancy smells make me happy#it's why I have a lot of perfumes :)

2021-2022 Academic year Scent routine!
This has been long awaited, because, well, I have been busy with school, but, nonetheless it's here now.
For those who are new, each time I change up my scent routine I share it with you guys!
The Formula: How to smell good from head to toe, AKA my scent routine
My last scent routine: My Summer'21 Signature Scent Routine
For this scent routine I really wanted to smell like pink academia, I don't know any other way to explain it. I wanted it to smell youthful yet mature, slightly symbolic of young adulthood, something to represent the time I'm at in my life right now. And I think I did a pretty good job of capturing that.
Category 1: The Hair
So I finally found my holy grail shampoo and conditioner (I think) but I have no idea what they smell like however i assume its' something slightly buttery but I find the scent doesn't linger too much. I do use Cantu products to style my hair and that has a very strong pineapple and coconut scent which I like. I also found my holy grail hair serum it's the L'oreal Elivive one that everyone and their mothers in Egypt have been raving about and I love the scent of that. Most of the products are the same as last time
I still haven't found a hair perfume I like bc I don't want to accidentally damage my hair. So I just hope that my perfume/ mist linger onto my hair instead
Overall though I am not too strict with this category bc I think that the quality of products matter more than their scent. So as long as my hair smells too good I don't mind what it smells like.
Category 2 & 3: The body (base & fragrance oil)
The bath and body works set that I choose as a starting point is the champagne toast one. Its notes include: Champagne, Tangerine, Nectarine, passionfruit, Black current, Hibiscus, sugar, plum tree, vanilla and musk. These are my chosen scents for this category.
I just think that champagne toast smells so youthful and girly, I've gotten SO many compliments on it. Plus it's pink
I bough the body mist, the body cream, the hand cream and the foam soap and I plan to buy more soon.
I still use the dove soap because it makes me feel very fresh and clean and is a good base. I bought a nectarine/ orange scented shower gel. In the morning I use the Champagne toast body cream and I use a Nivea cream after I shower. My body oil is unscented. My lip balm is cherry scented. I use the Champagne toast hand cream. My body scrub is sugar and vanilla scented. And of course I use the champagne toast body mist everyday
My fragrance oil is the same as last time, it's the musk fro Rassasi, number 61, these things last a super long time. I use it after I shower in my décolletage area. It matches very well with champagne toast.
Category 4: Clothing
I still spritz my clothing with bare vanilla, I think it makes all my clothing smell SO good. I just love it so much and I can't see myself changing it anytime soon.
Category 5: Perfumes
Now onto the fun part!
I wanted a perfume that was a) pink, and b) smelt sweet and mature. And La Vie Est Belle by Lancome is perfect for this! I know this perfume gets a lot of hate for being common and whtanot but it smells so good and when you mix it with a body mist no one can actually guess what it is.
La Vie Est Belle is super strong. So I do three sprays one on each shoulder and one on my chest, sometime more :)
La Vie Est Belle and champagne toast smell very very good together which I love <3
Now I have to go smell La Vie Est Belle + Champagne toast together for the millionth time. See you guys next summer! also on that note if anyone has any good fragrances for summer please let me know.
xx

Show dog grooming secrets
Show dogs must look the part, from sporting toy breeds.
Susan Hamil, a dog show veteran, says Miss America doesn't eat chips before a pageant. "Show dogs are similar." Bloodhound fancier and judge Hamil is one of four dog show specialists who shared their suggestions and dog care regimen.
The well-groomed canines may make it look easy, but they labor hard behind the scenes.
Your dog may not be a show dog, but they're Best in Show in your heart. These grooming suggestions will make your dog look good.
Let's Talk
Show dogs learn to like the attention, which boosts their self-esteem. Dogs feel their best when in shape, thus they need exercise. Susan Hamil, Bloodhound judge and breeder, says show Bloodhounds swim 45 minutes with a weighted vest to stay in condition.
Investigate dog food
"I tell West Highland White Terrier owners to study dog food. People expect a formulaic answer to Westies' skin troubles, but it's not that simple. Yeast in dog food is unhealthy for Westies. It grows in their armpits and pads; my Westie buddies gnaw themselves raw. Sad. People think it's allergies, but it's not. Too much sugar or carbohydrates can fuel yeast. Always study pet food and consult your vet. Breeder and fancier Vanessa Skou.
Learn to groom your dog
Dog owners must spend time teaching their pets to tolerate grooming. Putting a dog on a countertop, touching their feet, and brushing their coat helps them grow acclimated to being handled. My dogs hang out on the grooming tables. They'll say, "My turn!" Sweep me. If you make it fun, the dog will relax. Master Groomer, Bichon Frise fan Lindsey Dicken.
Learn your dog's coat type.
Understanding your dog's coat is helpful. Shih Tzus have long, flowing coats. Shampoos used to clean Shih Tzus might dry up their skin, therefore they need conditioner after a bath. Because of pH changes, use dog shampoo, not human shampoo. Shih Tzu breeder/fancier Michelle Jones
Bloodhounds are all-weather. Sebum waterproofs their coats, so they can shrug off water. You shouldn't remove your dog's natural oils when cleaning. Regularly use mild shampoo. Conditioner or crème rinse are also used. I brush out the dog's dead hair before wash time. I prefer an individual-bristled rubber brush. Bloodhound expert Susan Hamil
Don't neglect dental hygiene
Large dogs must be managed early on. You can massage and clean their teeth by lifting their lip. Use a finger brush or soft, rubber-bristled toothbrush to massage their gums. Always brush your gums. Dogs can have all the same dental problems as humans, but they can't brush after eating. Bloodhound expert Susan Hamil
I give my dogs a firm cheese chew to help clean their teeth in addition to brushing. They're easy for small dogs to hold. They don't produce a mess or get sticky. I recently discovered duck feet. Only twice a week. Their teeth are spotless, and they love them." Shih Tzu expert Michelle Jones.
Trim nails and remove foot hair
NAILS
Every bath, I inspect my dogs' nails. People neglect to cut the nails of Shih Tzus and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels because of their foot hair. Not so. Overgrown nails impact feet, walking, and movement.
TOENAILS
"Shih Tzus and other toy breeds require their bottom foot pads trimmed. Keeping that area clipped and clean can prevent foot irritation. It provides traction so they may use their foot pads on varied surfaces." Shih Tzu Expert Michelle Jones
Grooming
BEHAVE BETWEEN GROOMINGS
"As a pet groomer, I urge owners to brush out their pet's coat. It's the best thing you can do for your dog since they must understand it's not awful. They won't have to brush out four to eight weeks of knots at the groomer. Both the groomer and dog are unhappy. When an owner brushes their dog at home, it maintains the coat and gets the dog used to being handled. It makes grooming easier and the dog more comfortable. Bichon Frise expert Lindsey Dicken
THEY'LL GET POKED
Shih Tzu owners must maintain attractive puppy trims. Regularly trim nose hair. As hair develops, it can poke a dog's eye and cause irritation. Shih Tzu Expert Michelle Jones
Checkup
"I pet my dogs constantly. I hold them. I groom and watch them often. Do they have a growth? What's up? I watch my dogs' bodies closely. Observant people can spot problems before they worsen. –Vanessa Skou, WHWT Expert
Floppy-eared, droopy-eyed breeds need special care
EARS
"Ask your vet for a gentle ear cleaner and clean their ears based on wax buildup or debris. Clean and dry their eartips. If you live in a city, their ears pick up sidewalk dirt.”
EYES
"Make sure the eyes are clear. The breed's droopy eyes may be pink. Never crimson or angry. No constant tearing or discharge. Consult your vet.” Bloodhound expert Susan Hamil
White-coated dog care
"I bathe and dry my displaying dogs once a week." I use colorless shampoo. Westies have color-absorbing hair. Using purple shampoo will turn your hair purple.
"Clean and dry" Pets make things harder. Even wiping their feet with a hand towel when they come in can help." –Vanessa Skou, WHWT Expert
SHAMPOO-WHITENER
"I mix it up for each dog because if they have a dry coat, bluing will turn them purple. I use Artero. Mix 'Blanc' into other shampoos. It brightens visually. It's not purple or blue, therefore I like it." Bichon Frise expert Lindsey Dicken

@annawrites replied: *chants* do a review post do a review post
New stuff:
1. Sleepy shower gel
It's an opaque lavender purple which makes it look like a bottle of paint. It smells like lavender and caramel. 100% makes you sleepy, do recommend. I'll be using this one from now on when I shower before bed.
2. Jungle conditioner bar (new formula)
I tried this two years ago and didn't like it (aside from the scent) as it just didn't work at all, but @neversandnowheres told me they'd changed the formula so I tried it again. Improvement: A Lot. Left my hair feeling silky and smooth and fluffy. I haven't washed my hair since Thursday when I used it and this is what it looks like (selfie I took just now):
I have no product in my hair, fyi.
Old stuff:
3. Curly Wurly shampoo
I used this last summer when my hair was still long and I wanted to improve the curliness of it. It did! My hair went from wavy and somewhat frizzy to less frizzy and with more pronounced wave and actual curl in places. I wanted to use it again because it smells like coconut - actually it smells exactly like coconut macarons. Very sweet. I'm usually not a fan of sweet, but this scent doesn't last long enough in my hair to be bothered by it and I like the smell of coconut. I wanted to see if it would make the mop on my hair a bit curlier and since I've only used it once so far, that remains to be seen. Still, I like how it rinses my hair and scalp and adds moisture without making my hair greasy. See above photo.
4. Rehab shampoo
This is my go to standard shampoo that I started using probably 3-4 years ago? Because I dye my hair a lot and it needs extra moisture and care. Rehab is good for that (I switched from Aussie shampoo and conditioner to this, after having sworn to Aussie for years) and as a bonus it has no silicones so my hair actually also stopped feeling limp and heavy! Win! It decreased frizz as well. Anyway I was running low on this so just wanted to restock (and bc I wanted free delivery, so had to add an extra item to my order). I love rehab for the scent as well - it's not floral or sweet. I'll be using curly wurly for the next four weeks at least but rehab is my one true love.
5. Retread conditioner
Another item I was running low on - this is my go-to conditioner for the same reason as I use rehab. When I switched to this after using Aussie I was amazed at how much lighter and curlier my hair got, and how much longer it took between washes for my hair to need washing again. These days I wash my hair only once or twice a week (I used to have to do it every other day) because it just doesn't get greasy or heavy with silicones as fast as before. I also love the scent of this, it's not sweet or floral. I don't always use it - when I keep my hair short like this it doesn't always need conditioner and conditioner can sometimes be a disadvantage because it smoothes my hair out so it can't be styled effectively (the exception to this if I go to bed with my hair wet, in which case it will dry in a casually messy way that I then don't have to style at all or add product to) but since my hair is still very dry and brittle from the bleaching two? weeks ago I'm still using conditioner. I got this because I wasn't sure how the jungle bar would work out, and I wanted to be sure I had a back up in case the jungle bar was still No Good. It's also a very good conditioner to use after bleaching/dyeing hair! I never use the one that comes with the bleach/dye box anymore, I just put this stuff in and leave for min 15 minutes. (I generally leave it in while I'm washing the rest of my body and my face, so 5 min minimum.)
6. Happy Hippy shower gel
My go-to shower gel and the only way I can tolerate grapefruit. (Don't like the bitter taste, can't have it anyway bc of my meds). You should realise by now I'm not a fan of sweet or floral scents so this fresh and grapefruity shower gel is just perfect. A little goes a long way as well so it lasts a while. (I've tried the minty one which I hated because it smells very strongly like toothpaste and the rose jam one which I don't like because it's too sweetly floral/rose-y and I have bottle of ginger (seasonal item? Temp?) which is red and glittery (tbh I got it because it looked like a bottle of glitter blood and I'm just goth enough to fall for that) and smells and feels nice but I just rarely feel like using it).
I got a lush delivery the other day because I was running out of some stuff and I wanted to try some new stuff and I wanted to go back to using some other stuff long story short I smell amazing and my hair is so soft

Y'all in the village that have seen me recently
I apologize, y'all will just have to bless this sweet darling heart
My eyes have become super sensitive to the sun and I have to wear sunglasses (i got $250 worth of contacts with my stimulus check -- 12 boxes including one free sample due to the brand i purchased being discontinued suddenly and my prescription being out of stock - contact lens.com, i highly recommend. I did send inal a photo of my valid prescription) Usually I'm extremely picky and don't buy the lightly tinted lenses. But Wal-Mart had them on sale and usually that's all they sell. Usually i get mine from eBay and spend hours if not days searching for them cute and dark, zooming in the photos to see how the tint is reflected, refracted and if i can see through it. Usually sunglasses are very honestly shown for some reason.
Anyway so these are so thin I forget I am wearing them!
So, I'm all parading in Wal-Mart in purple sunglasses and all in the drive thru like an I don't care diva!
I don't know the origin, yet. Or where it came from... If it was just an agreed upon practice by international law or if it's just me. Idk.
But i think its rude to hide your eyes when speaking to someone. Like its not something conscious. I didn't sit around deciding it was a pet peeve or some law, but when i was a waitress tossing pizzas out the drive through pick up line or just a casual shopper -- people in sunglasses and not lifting them or removing them always bugged at me and irked me suspicious.
So I've been all parading around completely unaware because I've had to wear regular prescription clear lenses for so long that I'm used to the weight of glasses, especially in public because that's the only time I wore them. They just became part of me
And the tint is just see through light -- like the same color of my regular daytime light in my bedroom that every one says is dark. And a light bulb does illuminate. I'm very vampire dungeon darkness.
So I just wanted to apologize that i been all looking like Miss Princess don't care.
I always refused to buy light lenses because i thought they didn't work or weren't worth it. The sun here is so strong. But they do definitely help and are so comfortable i don't know they're in place.
So I care but my eyes hurt a lot. And the contacts kind of made it worse. Like when I take my non insulin diabetic shot, after 10 to 20 minutes I can feel it go into the back of my eyeballs and it feels so good!!
Its not a super pain or uncomfortable and its more when I don't sleep or am upset. I guess my pupils dilate weird
Which my eye doctor before the last, I was on Percocet and well the same 13 prescriptions as well as a few more for pain and so on. And he told me to be cautious as my pupils don't dilate proper due to "being so heavily drugged"
So who knows. I just try to avoid light.
And these sunglasses help and I don't know I'm wearing them. So I'm not hiding behind a mask and cute tinted sun glasses. I'm just protecting my eyes and preventing pain.
Like i say. The pain is from the brain to indicate a problem. So there's a problem Idk how to diagnose and verify or solve. So.
Its not intense just pressure and an auto response to avoid light. Like my kid turns on the lightbulb and I'm all its so fucking bright!!!! Although now the florescent burnt out thank God because that gave me migraines. And I got an LED. But the choices ar the dollar tree were limited to be 60 watt equivalent when I prefer a 40 watt or 30 even.
So I notice the intensity in my eyeballs changing in response to the light
When we lived in Alabama and we were about to move to NYC and my parents had always said Florida would be our next stop.
And i developed an allergy to the sun. A real allergy to the sun. It's a rare condition. My skin would marblize a red color and I would begin to feel faint and/or throw up if I was in direct sun.
It was right after Denise had become Zulululu.
And so I still have remenents of the non contagious disease. Although I was kept from school for 6 weeks... Like my legs if get hot then they get itchy and the sun irritates my eyeballs.
So I always buy sunglasses but I don't always wear them but have them available.
My daughter has the blue light blocker AND the progressive lens so that in the sun they turn to a light see through sun glasses. Zinnie.com I think I spelled it wrong m allong with a basic pair of clear glasses with a anti reflective coat for like $5 I paid about $70 for both. Never had any problems with Zinnie and even leaving them in a hot car was no problems. But a pair from firmoo I paid extra for the anti reflective coat and the lens coating melted in the car. So I'll never ever buy from them unless its a keep in the house pair. Wearing contacts and losing one on the beginning of a road trip where i was expected to drive -- it fell out my eye and ripped - it was old. And I didn't know or think about it and i had no back ups!! So i had to suffer the whole week. Migraines and all.
So in my luggage I keep a pair of contacts or glasses even when it's in storage. I keep a pair of glasses in my car in case of emergency. And firmoo completely failed me.
I've bought half a dozen or so from Zinnie. I call it Zin-knee-uh although it's probably just Zin-knee.
And noooo problems. Even with the advanced lenses which do work and are great.
Because I wear contacts, I don't want to invest in a good pair of glasses but my daughter solely wears glasses so I find it important to protect her eyes.
I get the anti-reflective coating -- the mid level due to at night lights. Without corrective lenses, lights look like Ferris wheels.
I literally can't see shit but 6 feet in front of me. I guess other people are not much different so. Like can y'all see a person 100 yards away? Like no? Right? I can see shadows and shit but I can't recognize people with my eyeballs until they're all up on me.
My uncle always says I'm gonna need a scope to shoot at night. -.-
I'm not quite Mr Magoo but I'm lucky as he is. Thankfully. (He's a cartoon, check him out. He's in YouTube)
And so my drastic apology for blatantly running around in sunglasses all rude and shit. Is done.
Also, while I'm talking about companies -- avoid PANTENE FOR COLOR TREATED HAIR. It strips rhe color out and is complete crap and the worst ever.
Herbal Essence and Loreal Elive are both fantastic to keep color treatments in.
I thought it was just our hair but ive been using PANTENE and my kid Herbal Essence and I see the difference.
Also I like my hair curly. And lantern curly didn't do shit. But Herbal Essence Twisted always has worked great. Not my personal favorite scent but tolerable.
Y'all what i need is a curly and color treated hair shampoo and conditioner at an affordable price. I've searched African American products and haven't found any with those labels. So Idk.
My scalp and hair is ultra dry due to scalp psoriasis and i can go a total 3 months of no washing without looking oily.
So i love African American products and buy them proudly in secret for myself! But i notice their bottles are smaller and more costly.
Except i found a leave in oil for only $3 which i use when i don't dye.
Foreign oils can strip hair color quite well as well as dandruff shampoo.
So I'm always cautious about leave in oils and lotions.
But PANTENE is a FAILURE.
Its my main switch. I use herbal essence and PANTENE and Loreal. Its a fact using the same conditioner and shampoo leaves a certain coating on the hair to cause it to be limp and flat and dull.
So it's always been recommended to use a clarifying shampoo and conditioner for a week then go back to the reg.
The same effect or nearly the same effecf is done by switching brands. So that's what I do.
PANTENE is now out of the equation.
Tio Nacho is a fantastic shampoo and conditioner. My daughter's hair was always unruly. Curly and just wild no matter what. And tio nacho is the only brand,to tame her to look like a human and not a wild lion. But I haven't found color protecting and it's $8 for only 12 ounces and so I find that expensive.
I buy the huge 27 ounces for $7. So.
But I would buy it for her. It helped calm the oily and wild mane.
My friend brushed her hair once and she was so surprised m she said that was like warm butter, lol. Because she always had wild corkscrew curls and some random straight ones she looked a wreck 24/7.
Truly I didn't mind I knew the truth. But tio Nacho has some miracle up in it. Swear.
PANTENE doesn't even have ordinary skills it claims to have m
So we may put Aussie in our loopm we use Tressemme when the cash flow is low.
I used to do live advertising and did the 3 minute Aussie miracle conditioner and that was always nice. The formula changed and it's not as wonderful as it used to be but its average. So i haven't had them in our loop.
Dove we don't like. Hers gets oily and crazy and i don't like the oil stimulation it causes. Idk maybe it's good but ... It makes me feel ick. Which is sad because I really wanted Dove to work.
PANTENE was my first "luxury" shampoo and conditioner i bought myself because i was raised on V05 and if I was lucky and Denise was nice, Suave. She literally bought the cheapest. And never bought extra conditioner and So i had to ration it. So my first self purchase on my own was PANTENE. But it is now a failure. -.- and lives are ruined and especially hair dos.
So now i used to buy my ex V05 ha!
And i have an emergency bottle of Tressemme 32 ounce under my bed for color treated. Conditioner.
We buy conditioner 4x more than shampoo. Because we coat it all --scalp to ends -- brush it. Then i rinse the heavy coat i soaked in while watching tv and smoking then I give it a light coat on the ends again and rinse.
Shampoo we just use one handful and not two or three and it foams up and so we don't need as much.
Like i use 2 - 3 pumps on my scalp of shampoo then one maybe two on the ends. The scalp i scrub the ends I rub.
Like now i have to dye again so I'll use a dandruff shampoo and I'll end up scrubbing all of my hair and use like 1/4 a 12 oz bottle. To get any deposits and leftover film and so on off all the hairs so they absorb the dye better. Then no conditioner. Or a light coat to detanglr and comb and rinse quickly without a deep soak. Then sometimes i gently apply shampoo again without a good scrub. Just run it through to remove the conditioner. But not to allow tangles.
Im not an expert or anything but hair care is serious around here and Idk why PANTENE is trying to destroy mine and succeeding.
I spend $50 every 2 months on just hair. For two.
One girl with a Mohawk and my long to the waist hair.
Two sides of her head are shaved every 6 weeks and she gets the same bottles as i do and then she's all "i need more" 0.o. Honestly she washes hers more often than i do.
We have our own buckets of shampoo and conditioner. Nathaniel either uses it or poisones it so we have our own large Easter buckets. And we store our towels in my room too. Then we have a 3rd bucket in case i buy in advance or like now give up on a bottle we were trying out. Save it. For days of emergency. Running out or so on
But we do borrow from each other if one or the other is low we take from each other to use.
We have different body soaps and different hair needs sometimes. Like i want curly and she's all nah. Or she has Tio Nacho.
We come from a 3 bathroom house so we're used to having our own product. Let me say it that way. But we always are good about sharing if necessary.
But she actually has more demands for bath stuff than I. So like her loofah and her body wash and all that isn't used by me and she knows its only all her Because I have my own bucket.
I cater to my kid. I Like it seperate too because her stuff is more expensive. $7 body wash and mine is $3 if i buy it. Otherwise i use shampoo. I do have hair in my armpits after all. And so i see hers and im all hmmm let me try this and yeah... "Idk how i used half a bottle in one bath" so it is more expensive!! So
While I'm buying 2x the shampoo and conditioner to supply 2 buckets -- in fact i am not spending more. If we shared the bottles as a person would expect, then we would go through them faster.
2 people in one bottle
Vs 2 people in 2 bottles.
So I have to purchase less often than if we shared but I have to purchase more bottles.
So in reality i pay the same price but the schedule and cost load is different.
Like if im out of conditioner, i know she will be at some point so i buy two bottles. And it waits until she needs it. Unless i need shampoo, too.
Then if she if she needs the shampoos then we buy all over again.
The cycle of life told in shampoo and conditioner.

7 Essential Hair Products I Can’t Live Without
Let me just state something obvious: I’m no hair expert. Ironic, right? I write a beauty blog, but if you’re a regular, then you probably notice I rarely write about hair. Aside from tousled waves or using a flat iron, my hairstyling skills are pretty basic. But I’ve always been a product hoarder so I have been around the block when it comes to trying a myriad of products.
I’m a firm believer in maintaining a robust lipstick and mascara wardrobe—but I also feel the same way about hair products. From dry shampoo to a good ‘ole bottle of hairspray, these are my 7 favorite essential hair products I can’t live without.
Mousse is a must-have for volume and hold and can be used a number of ways depending on the look you want to achieve. Personally, I like to create the illusion of thicker hair so I like to apply John Frieda Volume Mousse at the root and massage it into my scalp.
Whether you’ve donned a fresh blowout or used a curling iron, a little hairspray to help finish and hold goes a long way. I like Bumble and Bumble Spray de Mode because it doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy or sticky.
I try to air dry my hair as much as possible but in the fall and winter, I have a much harder time not using a hair dryer (read: I ALWAYS use a hair dryer in the winter). To help minimize damage, I always use a heat protector and this one by TRESemme does the job for a reasonable price.
Redken One United is a great universal multi-benefit treatment you can use after you’ve washed your hair and before you style it. Using this always softens and helps detangles my hair before I blow dry. This product is packed with so many other benefits so if you’re a beauty minimalist, this “all-in-one” spray should be your hero product.
Whoever invented dry shampoo blessed us all with at least one extra day of “clean” hair. I used to be all about the spray formula but then I tried this Detox Whipped Dry Shampoo Foam and it changed my life. Hello, third day hair. For a more detailed review, check out a previous post here.
Kerastase Nutritive Oleo Relax Serum is by far my most expensive hair product in my arsenal but it’s worth every penny. When my hair is looking rebellious (frizzy, dry and basically out of control), this little miracle worker keeps it looking tame.
Simply put, Ouai Wave Spray is my favorite because it smells so damn good. And it works. So there’s that. This can be used on wet or dry hair and unlike other salt sprays, this one won’t dry out or feel gritty on your tresses. I even like using this as a perfume for my hair.
