Title: The Wrong Amagi Wedding Chapters: 3/? (start, previous) Genre: Comedy Summary: After being invited to their father's second marriage, Rinne and Hiiro find themselves having to temporarily return to the village. Not wanting their friends to be alone, the rest of Crazy:B and Alkaloid join them on their journey back, but these "city folks" might not be the only ones learning something new during this visit.
In this chapter.... The hike towards the village continues! Follow Alkakurei as they traverses the trees and rivers, meet old friends, and take their first steps into the village.
CW for vulgar jokes. Nothing cruel, just a tad dirty.
They were about half-way to the village when Rinne decided to stop for lunch. He had been pointing out edible plants for Niki to snack on, but everyone else wanted to eat a proper meal. It was around lunchtime anyways.
“On the other side of the river,” called out Rinne, “There’s a good space for us to have a picnic. Is everyone confident in their balancing abilities?”
Everyone made noises of agreement, but Aira and Mayoi looked unsure.
“What do you mean by that, Rinne?” asked Aira.
Rinne held up two fingers. “If you don’t want to get wet, there are only two ways to cross the river to the village: balancing on an old fallen log or balancing on some high river rocks.”
Rinne gave a sly grin. “Unless you want me to test how far I can throw you, Aira-chan~...”
Aira squeaked and rapidly rejected the idea.
“Kyahaha! Don’t worry, it’s not that bad,” reassured Rinne, “The water isn’t that deep or strong at this part of the river. If you’re nervous, you can walk on through.”
“Really?”
“Yeah! You’ll just freeze your nuts off instead!”
Aira’s face scrunched up. “...I think I’ll take the log.”
Rinne whistled and skipped ahead. “Rotting log it is!”
“Huh?? What do you mean rotting??”
Mayoi looked sick as he watched Aira chase after Rinne. “... I think I’ll just let the river take my balls.”
Tatsumi gave a look of concern. “But your balls are so lovely, Mayoi. It would be a loss for the world.”
“Tatsumi?!” shrieked Mayoi.
Tatsumi giggled. “Kidding~! Just a joke.”
“You are disgusting, Kazehaya,” said HiMERU as he pushed himself ahead of everyone.
“Aw, HiMERU, your balls are cute too~...”
HiMERU turned around to murder Tatsumi for uttering such slander.
“Can we please stop talking about balls?!!” yelled Kohaku, thoroughly done with his seniors.
“Yeah! Don’t worry, Mayoi,” said Hiiro, aiming to be a beacon of comfort today, “You’ll still have your balls after crossing the river! It’s just cold.”
“Not helping, Hiiro!” There was no refuge for Kohaku.
“Hey are you guys done talking about your balls or are we going to cross this log?” yelled back Rinne, “Aira’s too much of a pussy to go first so Kohaku you need to get over here and hold his hand.”
“Brother, can’t I hold hands with Aira?” asked Hiiro.
“Nah, there’s only so much this old log can handle at a time, but you can go first and help them off the log.”
“On it!” Hiiro zoomed forward, crossing the log with light, deft steps. He leapt off, and started waving from the opposite bank.
“Come on, Aira! It’s perfectly safe!”
Aira still felt nervous, but Kohaku came up from behind and grabbed his hand.
“Don’t worry, Love-han. I’ll be right behind and keep you from falling,” said Kohaku.
Aira smiled.
“OK now chop chop, loverboys, get moving,” said Rinne, “We still have a lot more people to get through.”
Kohaku glared at Rinne, but let Aira lead him to the log bridge. Slowly, but surely, they made it to the other side where Hiiro helped them down.
Next was Niki, then HiMERU, and lastly Tatsumi, until only Rinne and Mayoi remained.
“Alright, Mayo-chan~, you’re up.”
Mayoi began to fidget. “... I really think I should just take the river.”
Rinne swooped down and lifted up Mayoi in a single, quick movement. Mayoi squeaked.
“Come on, scaredy cat. If this ol’ log can hold up a fatass like Niki, it can hold up your flat ass. Unless you want to see if it can handle both our weights at once when I carry you across…”
Rinne held Mayoi so he was barely standing on the log before letting go. Mayoi quickly and gracefully crossed the log in one fell swoop.
“Now that wasn’t so hard, was it?” Rinne followed behind on the log at a relaxed pace.
Niki greeted him on the landing. “So lunchtime? You have the cooler, right?”
“Am I only a piece of meat to you, Niki?”
“Nyahaha, of course not, Rinne. You contain many different types of foods. Now open up!”
Rinne grumbled, but unzipped his bag. “A ‘please’ would be nice…”
He looked up at Kohaku. “Do you still have that messenger bag of snacks, Kohaku?”
Kohaku huffed at the obvious as the bag rested in front of him.
“Are you an idiot, Rinne?” he said as he opened the bag, “Obviously I still have the— huh?”
Kohaku took off the bag and shook out a pile of trash. Only a few of them still contained food or drink. “Where did it… Niki!”
Niki carefully slinked out of sight. Kohaku dropped his luggage to increase his speed as he moved in for the kill. The rest of the group began setting up for lunch as Niki ran for his life.
A few minutes later, a sudden thud and shriek from Niki and Kohaku had Rinne dropping the sandwiches he was taking out of his bag and swiping his knife. Both Amagis hopped to action, running towards the sound of the shouts.
Niki was sitting on the ground behind Kohaku who stood on the defense. In front of them stood a large beast in the shadows of the trees. Its massive flat face was only rivaled by the size of its soaring humpback. Smoke appeared to surround the beast, hiding its features as it breathed heavily.
“Rinne, what is that thing?” asked Kohaku, unsure of whether his fists would be enough to take the monster down.
“Stay still, Kohaku,” said Rinne as he creeped closer to the beast with a hand out to tell Hiiro to pause, “We don’t want to set it off.”
A low rumbling came from the beast as it scraped the ground with its wide hoof.
“Easy, fella, easy,” said Rinne. He had a bet on what this mystery animal was, but he needed to take a risk to let everything end peacefully, “Don’t you recognize me?”
The beast huffed as more smoke billowed through the trees. Hiiro and Kohaku tensed up. Rinne was now only a foot away from the being. He held out a hand for it to sniff, his knife stored secretly in his back pocket.
“I know it’s been years, but do you remember? The apple from that time.”
The beast stilled. The ever growing smoke began to thin to everyone’s relief. The beast moved into the light to press its face into Rinne’s outstretched hand.
Niki and Kohaku looked shocked at the sight of the now clearly visible strange creature.
Hiiro’s eyes lit up in recognition and he tensed up to attack. “Volcano bison! You returned to destroy us!”
“Calm down, Hiiro,” replied Rinne as he patted Volcano Bison, “I’m friends with it. I think Volcano Bison was just curious.”
“Rinne, what the hell is that?” asked Kohaku with a slightly horrified look. The beast appeared to break several laws of existence with its large eyes and what appeared to be smoke coming from the peak on its back.
“It’s just Volcano Bison, Kohaku. It’s not that complicated.”
“It is Incredibly complicated, Rinne! Niki, back me up here.”
Kohaku turned to look at Niki who was ignoring the conversation in favor of observing the newly revealed creature. “Hmmm… I wonder how it would taste… Since it’s friends with Rinne, we probably won’t be allowed to eat it, but still…”
Kohaku’s face dropped for a moment until he recovered with a face palm. “Right. I don’t know what I expected.”
Rinne moved to the side to introduce his new friends to Volcano Bison. “That over there is Hiiro, my younger brother who I told you about. The pink shorty is Kohaku, and the guy on the ground is Niki, my wife.”
This caught Niki’s attention. “I’m not your wife, Rinne!”
“Can we not argue in front of my friends, Niki?”
Volcano Bison let out a low rumble (that Kohaku pretended he did not jump at) before appearing to bow its head. In a way. It didn’t particularly seem to have a visible neck or bendable knees which made it rather unsettling to watch.
“Any friend of my brother is a friend of mine,” said Hiiro with a smile.
“We were about to stop for lunch, if you would like to join us, Volcano Bison,” offered Rinne. He had packed a few apples for this exact possibility.
Volcano Bison smiled with its eyes and nodded.
“Follow us then!”
Niki used Kohaku (against his will) to stand up, and together they watched the beast gallump after the two brothers.
“Please tell me you think this is weird too, Niki,” begged Kohaku.
“Maybe a little, but this is a big world we live in Kohaku,” responded Niki before following after them.
Kohaku stared at their disappearing backs. He huffed.
“HiMERU and Love-han wouldn’t treat me this way,” he said before walking back to the picnic site.
Thankfully for Kohaku, the rest of the group seemed correctly shocked by the beast joining them for lunch. The apple Rinne passed to it appeared to somehow be eaten in one gulp like a :3-faced toucan. Kohaku and Aira pretended they weren’t hiding behind HiMERU and Tatsumi as Volcano Bison stared directly at them. Mayoi also hid behind Tatsumi, but he didn’t try to hide it. It made for a very surreal picnic.
Later, as they were cleaning up, Rinne passed it another fruit before speaking quietly to it. “If anything happens in the village, I want you to cause a diversion and get as many of them out as fast as possible. I’ll call you if I need you.”
Volcano Bison nodded.
Rinne smiled and patted his old friend on the back. “Thanks.”
The Amagis waved goodbye as Volcano Bison disappeared back into the woods in a cloud of smoke. Kohaku, HiMERU, and Aira wondered if some of those road trips snacks had been laced with something.
The rest of the hike to the village was quiet until: “Oh be careful of the twine there,” warned Rinne as HiMERU paused his gait. On the ground was a thin piece of string tied across the path.
“Thank you for the warning, Amagi,” said HiMERU as he and the rest of the party carefully stepped over it.
“No problem,” waved off Rinne.
“What would have happened if the trap went off?” asked Aira.
“A bunch of arrows would get set off and kill MERUMERU instantly,” said Rinne as he glanced around the trees.
Aira went pale, but now was Hiiro’s time to shine: “That’s not true! That trap only lets the village know that someone is walking down the path towards us,” he explained.
Rinne booed him. “Why’d you have to ruin the joke so quickly, Hiiro? Let your little girlfriend hop around worried for a bit first.”
“But the arrow traps aren’t on this path, brother!” said Hiiro, “I don’t want to lie to Aira.”
Aira frowned, but Tatsumi patted him on the back in reassurance. “Don’t worry, Aira. If any arrows come towards you, I’ll protect you from the arrows with my life.”
“Tattsun?!”
“HiMERU will help Kazehaya if the event occurs,” said HiMERU as he walked towards the front again.
Rinne hit HiMERU on the back. “That’s the spirit, MERUMERU. Glad to see you getting along with Tatsumi.”
HiMERU frowned as Tatsumi smiled.
Rinne looked up at a tree and smiled as his eye caught a glint of metal in the light. “Hey, Hiiro, do you want to do the honors in letting everyone know we’re here?”
Hiiro lit up as he rushed over to climb up a nearby tree and pull on a similar looking piece of string.
“Hey, Rinne?” asked Kohaku, “So what’s the difference between that trap and the one your brother is setting off?”
Rinne turned back to look at Kohaku. “Hm? The one Hiiro is setting off is the hidden village doorbell so that no one thinks a sneak attack is happening. That one MERU was going to set off is the stupid loser doorbell because only the ones not in the know or not paying attention set it off. I think Hiiro set it off once and no one let him live it down for a month.”
“I see,” replied Kohaku, thinking of his own family’s secrets.
Hiiro climbed back down the tree. “Hey guys, what are we talking about?”
Kohaku looked at Hiiro’s bright eyes and decided to spare him. “Oh we were just talking about the different traps on this path.”
“Yeah! We got a lot of them around here to do all sorts of things,” said Hiiro, “My brother is well versed in a lot of them since he set most of them off when we were kids.”
“Oh really?” said Kohaku with a cat’s grin.
Rinne sped up his walking to race ahead. “Wow! Look at how close we are to the village. We should be hitting the village border any second—”
The more observant of the group spotted a blur racing towards them. “Rinne, look out!” called out Kohaku as he realized the attacker’s target. Rinne braced himself as he stood alone on the forest path, the rest of the group farther behind.
“I was wondering when you were going to show up,” said Rinne through gritted teeth.
The attacker dove for Rinne, starting a brief brawl as the two fought using moves Kohaku had never seen before. Kohaku and Hiiro raced towards Rinne, but they were too late, and soon Rinne was taken down by what appeared to be a large woman with short red hair in blue and tan clothing.
“Hiiro,” she said flatly, and that was all the warning they got before she attacked once more.
This time, however, Kohaku was close enough to lend his aid. The two of them worked hard to down this strange opponent, but somehow Kohaku kept finding all his moves to kill swiftly disarmed. It was worse than fighting Madara, who had a tendency to enjoy preventing Kohaku from actually connecting any hits over fighting back. In the end, Kohaku and Hiiro found themselves both hanging upside down, one in each hand, as the woman wrangled the two teenagers at once.
The rest of the party caught up and stared in horror as they found themselves helpless against their surprise opponent.
Aira looked at Hiiro’s serious eyes, but found himself confused by his friend’s smile.
Why was he…?
“Haha! You got me again, father!” laughed Hiiro as he swung himself in the woman’s grasp.
“FATHER?!?” yelled the rest of the party.
“You must be the friends Rinne spoke of,” the woman said, continuing to hold Kohaku and Hiiro by their ankles, “He spoke very highly of all of you.”
A distant voice called out ahead from where the woman came from. “Leader! Leader!” an out of breath voice cried out, “You are supposed to be resting!”
Rinne groaned from where he lay on the ground. “Even while sick, you are still causing trouble, old man,” he grumbled to himself.
Rinne sat up and leveled his father with a flat stare as the villager came closer to them. “Can you put down Kohaku and Hiiro, father? Kohaku’s hair is going to turn red from all his blood rushing down and you’ll confuse him for another Amagi.”
The elder Amagi let go of her opponents. Hiiro tumbled down quietly while Kohaku yelped before both landed softly, used to breaking their falls. Aira rushed forward to their sides and grabbed their wrists. He dragged them both back to stand behind Tatsumi. Kohaku glared while Hiiro smiled. His father cocked her head at the sight, but paid them little mind.
“Hey,” called out Rinne, pulling her attention back to him, “Aren’t duel greetings reserved for martial arts students?”
“You will always be my student, and there will always be more to learn. I needed to see if your skills have rusted in your absence,” she stated.
“Just admit you wanted to take a swing at me and Hiiro after all this time,” said Rinne as he glared upwards at his father.
She pointedly looked away from Rinne towards the oncoming aide. The woman huffed as she bent her head forward in deference. “Sir, I apologize for cutting your reunion short with your sons, but you must spend more time saving your strength for the wedding.”
“It is traditional for the monarch to greet guests to the village before they arrive, Ayasato,” she said.
“It is traditional with a team of bodyguards present, sir,” the aide emphasized, “We had a welcoming team prepared to meet them in your absence led by your wife to be.”
“I deemed them unnecessary. As the only main branch Amagi remaining in the village, I deemed it necessary for myself to be the one to greet these outsiders.”
Ayasato’s face remained blank to avoid showing her true feelings on the matter, but Rinne frowned at his father’s intentional dig.
“Now are we going to stand here all day or shall we return to the village?” their father asked, “We’ve prepared a big dinner for you all tonight, and we have much to explain to you about the rules during your stay here.”
Ayasato bowed. “Lead the way, sir.”
The senior Amagi began walking back towards the village. Ayasato leaned down and offered a hand to Rinne. “It’s good to have you back, sir.”
He ignored it and stood up on his own. “Keep the fake praise to yourself.”
Ayasato frowned, but nodded before she turned to the rest of the party. “Everyone, follow us and I will inform everyone of our basic rules as we walk to the village center.”
With no other path, but forward, the idols followed them deeper into the forest.

A First Step, Towards Friendship
Season: Spring (ES!! second year)
Characters: Kohaku, Hiiro, Madara
Hiiro and Kohaku: Nom nom….
Hiiro: Ah, I accidentally got some on the table. Could you get a wipe, Kohaku-san?
Kohaku: ‘Course, here ya go. Ya gotta open yer mouth big an’ wide so that ya don't spill crumbs.
Hiiro: Thank you, I’ll take note of that!
Kohaku: (...He looks ‘bout as normal a boy as they come when he’s eatin’ breakfast, huh)
(The Hiiro-han I saw durin’ Matrix astonished me so much that I can’t help but incessantly worry away just from bein’ near him)
(He disciplines in a way that dredges up memories of my sisters… or particularly, the way he made us prepare for all kinds o’ things)
(He dived headfirst into playin’ villain just so Crazy:B could secure the first win)
(There sure were lotsa things happenin’ in the Amagi village, but by far my biggest shocker would be…)
Hiiro: Umu. Today’s bread was baked wonderfully. It was so delicious. Maybe I should get seconds?
Kohaku: (whispering) With that face, he follows every rule to an absolute. He forces everyone to follow them with him, an’ any opposition turns him into a terrifyin’ lad)
(Like say, were there to be a rule that determined that all breakfasts shall be bread, what would Hiiro-han do?)
(Would he even go as far as to tell me, who’s currently eatin’ rice, to have bread instead?)
Phew. I got so caught up with these stupid ideas that simply eatin’ breakfast took far too long.
???: I’m hooooome!!!! ☆ I’m so thirsty after running!
Kohaku: Mm… no doubt, that’s Madara-han’s voice. G’mornin’.
Madara: Ohh, if it isn’t Kohaku-san! Goooood morniiiiing! ☆
Kohaku: Yer always so damn loud.
Anyhow, there’s somethin’ I wanted to ask…
Would ya rather have rice or bread for breakfast?
Madara: …Hmm? That’s quite the unexpected question.
Have you been wondering about what food I like? I’m so happy to hear that ♪
Kohaku: Ah, no, this ain’t the type o’ question that should be thrillin’ ya. Not like I’ll die without yer answer anyhow.
Madara: Now now, don't be shy and say it with your chest! "I'm dyin' to make breakfast for Madara-han", right? ♪
Kohaku: Who’s sayin’ what? And the same goes to you. Rather than "accidentally" pullin’ it outta me, can'tcha just ask directly? Y'know, "Why is Kohaku-san asking me something like this, hmm?"
Anyhow, I’ll explain… I was eatin’ with Hiiro-han just now.
So we were in the Matrix project, where this an’ that happened… Now, I’ve got this slightly odd relationship with Hiiro-han.
Madara: Mmhm. I see, I get the situation now.
Oh, to think that Kohaku-san would consult me for relationship advice ♪
Mama’s delighted! Moved beyond words! So happy, in fact, that I feel inclined to ruffle Kohaku-san’s head ☆
Kohaku: Uwaah!? Stop!
Actually, what’s with this weirdass attitude? Are ya makin’ fun of me, ya jerk?
Madara: Hahaha, who’s to say?
Anyway. Personally, I’d say that becoming friends with Hiiro-san could alleviate much of your worries, Kohaku-san.
Kohaku: Friends?
Madara: Yep. For example… if Hiiro-san were to invite you to a meal, you wouldn’t turn him down, right?
Kohaku: Well, I ‘spose so. We were eatin’ together earlier too.
Madara: Then, let’s extend it from within the Starmony dorms to ES as a whole. What would you do if he asked you to go shopping with him? Turn him down?
Kohaku: Maybe if I had other plans… ‘sides that, I don’t see a reason to not go.
Madara: Yep. So basically, you two are already on pretty decent terms.
But what would you consider Hiiro-san to be to you?
Is he an acquaintance from a different unit? Or perhaps someone close to a good friend of yours? …Try taking a step back to reevaluate.
Kohaku: That’s true. Who knows whether or not Rabu-han an’ I have the same thoughts on this person.
Madara: I’m also assuming that, since whatever happened during Matrix, your thoughts on him have complicated since.
You two may be on relatively good terms, but with your perspective, it seems you can’t quite put a good name to your relationship.
And that’s exactly why if you were able to get to a point where you could start calling him a “friend”, you could reforge your relationship with him entirely.
Kohaku: Woah… I’d never expected you to give such sound advice.
Madara: ….That’s odd. I’m supposed to be your older senpai with plenty of life experience under my belt, no?
Kohaku: My bad. I just didn’t expect the friendless Madara-han to be the one advisin’ me on makin’ friends.
Madara: Hrm… what was that about me making fun of you earlier?
Kohaku: Ahaha! ‘Course, I think I can do this with yer idea. Thank ya kindly ♪
Now, I’ll call Hiiro-han right away—
Hiiro: This… is a store selling idol merchandise, yes?
Did you want to come to this store with me, Kohaku-san?
Kohaku: It must’ve been a doozy to be called an’ brought here so suddenly, sorry ‘bout that.
I was just glad to have gotten in touch with ya… but the only spot I can think for bringin’ “friends” is this idol goods store. (2)
Hiiro: “Friends”?
Kohaku: Mmhm. I’ve been thinkin’ ‘bout wantin’ to be such with ya, Hiiro-han.
I thought of talkin’ it out with fists too, since I reckon that a playfight could bring us closer.
Hiiro: With fists? Playfight?
Kohaku: Ah, I’m just talkin’ to myself. Don’t worry ‘bout that.
…So far, I believe you and I’ve been toddlin’ along on just “being on decent terms”.
What do you think ‘bout callin’ each other “friends” from now on?
We’ve even worked together as one unit before, so how ‘bout we continue workin' together?
I’d never really tried to make friends before, so I may slip an’ say weird things from time to time. If that’s okay with you…. how about it?
Hiiro: ….Umu! I’d love to, Kohaku-san!
Kohaku: Really?
Hiiro: Of course ♪ You’re a close friend of Aira’s, so I assumed that the two of us were already friends.
But now that I think about it, I never did walk up to you and go, “let’s be friends!”, did I?
From now on, as newfound friends… I’ll be in your care, Kohaku-san ♪
Kohaku: Ahaha, shakin’ hands as proof of our friendship, huh. What a nice feelin’ ♪
I planned on the two of us just goin’ shopping as friends, but I’d like ta hear more ‘bout ya, Hiiro-han.
Do you have any other friends, like Hinata-han? What hobbies do you have, and what do ya usually talk about? Can ya tell me?
Hiiro: Of course! Let’s shop and chat away!
Kohaku: Thanks, Hiiro-han. As friends, from now on… I’ll be in yer care ♪

Wanna share a couple of my rnnk headcanons! Sorry for the mistakes, my english is SUCKS, but i still want to show it (and hugging boys too) There should have been a little more of them, but I cut out some 1) Rinne and Niki are married! This marriage is not registered in any way, of course, but! they still had a small home wedding ceremony (where only Hiiro was invited) with traditions from the Amagi's village. As wedding rings, they used those rings that Rinne always wears on his hands 3) Rinne always wears a ring, and Niki not. He doesn't want to lose or spoil it while working, so he keeps it in his wallet 5) Despite the ban on kissing before the wedding, they have already kissed at least once purely because of teenage interest (hi 1417 rinnk), but this "does not count as a real kiss because it was before the wedding" 6) Niki and Rinne are both VERY tactile, so any physical contact is an integral part of their lives 7) Despite Rinne's rather vulgar character and the way he sticks to Niki, when the Shiina himself begins to take the initiative, there is a "boom" in Rinne's head and he feels embarrassed ( liomgomgomghessuchcuteilovehimilovehiiim) 8) Rinne likes to hug Niki from the back most of all 9) Rnnk 1417 is back. Before they became idols, Niki often took Rinne to karaoke because he saw his interest in this and wanted to makes him happy 10) Rinne stumbles into the cafe where Nicky works just because he missed him and wants to see his cute wifey 11) I think Rinne very quickly begins to miss Niki, like a dog. Sometimes Niki need to turn off the phone, because Rinne literally throws him texts and calls, which prevents him from working 15) Rinne may seem to those who do not care about anniversaries like "the day when we first met/kissed", but in fact he remembers it well and attaches great importance to all these days, and indeed to any little things if they are related to Niki 17) 1417 rinniki yeah. While living together, they often played games together and watched movies. And Niki was very bad at this 18) Niki has some form of "sleepwalking", he can start chewing, sucking and drooling in his sleep. Usually these are pillows and blankets, but if he sleeps with Rinne, then Niki use his hair and hands 19) Rinne often gives Niki toys from vending machines 20) Niki is not a fan of alcohol, but sometimes he doesn't mind drinking if it's together with Rinne 21) Drunk Niki becomes even more tactile, and also falls asleep very quickly, so when they drink together, it usually ends with Niki hanging on Rinne's shoulder and falling asleep right on him 22) Rinne is attention seeker, especially from Niki 23) For this reason, he is a little jealous, he does not like it when Niki praises someone else. When this happens, he immediately begins to ingratiate himself with his boyfriend and beg for praise and affection 26) Rinne likes to use colognes, Niki doesn't really like these smells. He likes Rinne's natural body odor much more 28) Rinne loves Niki's hair. He would be horrified if he found out that he was going to get a haircut (even he wanted to make him bald at night club). In general, he likes not only to pull his ponytail, but also to rummage in his hair. Rinna really likes to braid Niki and do his hair. Sometimes he helps Niki to put her hair in a ponytail (and they also smell very nice and soft to the touch. Rinne's hair is much tougher) 30) Rinne has Niki's photo on his pjone wallpapers. He really likes to take pictures of him, so Rinne's gallery is just teeming with photos of Niki. Niki himself has only photos of food on his phone, sometimes there are joint photos with Rinne (made by Rinne). Although sometimes he takes pictures of Rinne when he looks funny and silly 33) Rinne sleeps in her underpants, and Niki in her pajamas. But when it's cold, Rinne steals Niki's pajamas, even though they are a little small for him. And Nicky has a lot of clothes with food prints, including these pajamas, so one sleeps in bacon, and the other in scrambled eggs

ES Rare Pair Week 2024 Day 1: AU
Title: Late Night Conversations Relationships: Hiiro Amagi/Kohaku Oukawa Summary: Kohaku is out for a late night walk when he runs into Hiiro also unable to sleep on a hot summer night before MDM. They talk about their shared responsibility to their families and their new friends.
Age Shuffle AU Alkakurei is all shuffled up age wise and everyone else is 1 year older aka music era main story takes place a year later in canon. Kohaku is 20 and Hiiro is 19. More information on the AU here.
Kohaku wasn’t sure what he was expecting lurking around at night. Maybe an answer to his troubles. Maybe a reason to stay. After being an idol for the past three years, Kohaku was wondering if it was all worth it. Sure, being free of his prison at home was nice, but did he really deserve this freedom?
Tsukasa had offered Kohaku a place in Knights, but Kohaku didn’t want that. He had spent his idol life as a solo unit and he wasn’t looking to drag Tsukasa down for his sake. Kohaku was wary enough of Ibara’s plan to use Crazy:B as attack dogs on the rest of ES. Tsukasa couldn’t be involved with the underworld that tainted his very blood. Kohaku knew from the very beginning that the light was never meant for people like him.
He just had to wait for the climax. This summer would be the final act in the performance of the idol, Kohaku Oukawa. Afterwards, no one would ever consider him to be worthy of freedom. It would be for the best. Come autumn, Kohaku would return to the shadows and take his rightful place as an assassin for the main family. It would be what he deserved after all the trouble he had caused for everyone.
He turned a corner in the courtyard when he sensed a powerful presence nearby. Kohaku turned quickly towards the source. “Who’s—”
There in a tree sat a young man with curly red hair not unlike another idol Kohaku knew. “Hiiro-han, what are you doing?”
Hiiro looked down at Kohaku from his branch. “Sitting. What are you doing out here?”
Kohaku glanced away. “Enjoying the evening breeze, that’s all.”
Hiiro smiled with a tilt of his head. “... I’m going to miss these conversations with you when this summer is over, Oukawa-senpai.”
Kohaku refocused on Hiiro. “How did— I mean, what makes you say that?”
“After MDM, I plan to return to the village,” explained Hiiro, “My brother is happy and safe here. That’s all I needed to know.”
“That’s right,” said Kohaku, “Your brother mentioned you were in line to be the monarch.”
Hiiro nodded. “It is my duty to lead our people and keep them safe. This includes my younger brother. I couldn’t let him disappear after saying all those things. I worried that he wasn’t in his right mind and left irrationally.”
After all the stories Kohaku heard of the village from Rinne, Kohaku felt like Hiiro was the more irrational of the brothers.
“Now that I can rest easy knowing my brother has found people to take care of him when I am not there, I must return to my fate.”
Fate. A word Kohaku knew intimately. “If you already know that your brother is safe, why stay? I’m sure the people counting on you would prefer you come home sooner rather than later. What keeps you here?”
Hiiro paused for a moment to think before speaking. “The little ones. Mayoi-kun and Tatsumi-kun. They are relying on me to lead them and save them from being fired.”
“Not Shiratori-han?” teased Kohaku, “He always seems to be close by when I see you around ES.”
“I don’t think it would matter much to Aira if I stayed or left,” said Hiiro, “I was trying to destroy the things he cherishes the most, afterall. The least I can do is protect what I can before returning home.”
With the way he looks at you, I doubt that’s the truth, thought Kohaku.
“What about you?” continued Hiiro, “Will you also be leaving after MDM?”
Kohaku was startled. “Huh?! What gave you that idea?”
“You appear detached from all of us, like you are holding us at arm's length,” said Hiiro, “You also jumped at the implication that I thought you were leaving earlier.”
“W-well, so what? You have nothing to do with me. None of you guys do.” He was not about to let some stranger guilt trip him.
“You’re right.”
“Huh?” Kohaku was expecting a lecture like everyone else in his life.
Hiiro shuffled his position on the tree branch. “I’m not going to judge you for leaving when I plan to do the same. I’m sure you have something important taking you away from here.”
Kohaku thought back home. The cold walls of his room. A gilded cage. He wondered if he would be allowed to do proper missions now that he was older or if they would use this opportunity to hide him away again. “... Yeah. Important.”
Hiiro nodded. “Exactly. We all have our place in the world and people we must return to. We can only run free for so long.
Something about Hiiro’s honest words stirred something in Kohaku. Something he couldn’t name. Something not quite sad, but… not satisfied either.
Hiiro looked away to stare at the sky. “I still have not become used to the lack of stars in the city. Back home, I could tell the time just by the position of the moon to the horizon. Now the buildings hide their path from sight.”
Back home, I could rarely leave to see them at all, thought Kohaku.
“... And yet there is something exciting about it, don’t you agree, Oukawa-senpai?”
Kohaku blinked. He wasn’t expecting that follow up.
“I’d never left the village before this year. It took me months to track down where my brother had ended up,” shared Hiiro, “It was not all pleasant, and at times I wondered if the city had swallowed up my little brother as it threatened to eat me. But I... We both pulled through.”
Hiiro smiled. “Every day is so exciting in the city, a part of me doesn’t want to leave all these people I’ve met behind. You understand, don’t you?”
Kohaku closed his eyes and held back his tongue. To say the truth would be a step too far. He had already walked too close to the edge to chicken out now.
“Hmmm, are you sure you want to leave, Hiiro-han?” Kohaku turned the question back with a twisted smile, “You’re sounding pretty sentimental to me.”
“It’s not a matter of want.”
And didn’t Kohaku know it. Rinne hadn’t lied about his unfeeling older brother, but Kohaku was starting to think perhaps his younger unit member didn’t have the whole picture.
“The monarch was born to lead, and lead I must.”
A feeling of a shared burden burned inside Kohaku. Someone who could understand his feelings. Perhaps he would never find someone else to share his feelings with, but still…
“Make sure to stop and say goodbye before leaving, alright?” said Kohaku with a wave, “I don’t want to have to track you down in your village to wrap things up.”
Hiiro nodded. “Umu. I’ll remember to find you before I leave. Will we be able to speak again?”
Kohaku smiled. “Maybe if the hidden moon aligns just right. Good night, Hiiro-han.”
“Good night, Oukawa-senpai.”
For the first time in a long time, Kohaku felt peaceful as he crawled back through the window into his empty dorm room. His heart was racing with conflicting emotions, but for some reason, Kohaku felt like things would be okay. He wondered if Hiiro had something to do with it. He would have to seek out the older Amagi again tomorrow evening in hopes of speaking again.

Little Hiiro and Rinne!!!
Me at the Amagi village: Look what you did! You traumatized the child! Now he has self-worth issues.
Average Rinne behaviour.
Who said he doesn't understand other people's feeling?! He's so considerate. It's not that he's dumb or doesn't understand what others feel, he just doesn't understand when people are vague or use phrases he doesn't know.
And of course he won't get those. No one is born knowing stuff like idioms, you learn what they mean with time and asking. If you listen a foreign saying, you don't know what it means unless it's really obvious or someone explains it.

➳ R͟i͟n͟n͟e͟ A͟m͟a͟g͟i͟ x͟ G͟N͟!R͟e͟a͟d͟e͟r͟
➥ 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙧𝙚:🅰🅽🅶🆂🆃
It has been years since the last time you have seen Rinne Amagi, himself the oldest son of the current monarch, the next Monarch in line. A slow rush of breeze makes its way past your face as you stare upon the clear blue sky as you sit at the porch of your home. A hint of nostalgia carried by the wind hits you, a soft strained smile crept upon the corners of your lips as your hands squeezed the fabric of your kimono. You close your eyes, relishing the wind, letting yourself bask in the sense of nostalgia of your younger years.
'It wasn't even too long ago when he left.'
You convince yourself, years have passed and you refuse to give up on waiting for him. Despite being married to someone, your heart remained loyal to the man whom you spent your childhood with. Reminiscing how fun it used to be when he would drag you around and show you the new things he learned, the way you would sit on the side watching him during training, and the way you would look at him fondly. A familiar smile that he knows so well, one that holds affection in which he knows that it's meant for him and because he knows it's because of him. He would often tease you about it, about having a crush on but you always denied it so casually. All because you know you're too young to hold such feelings for someone, and you think so because that's what your parents had drilled into your head. You also feared that he would never harbor the mutual feelings you hold, because he had always treated you as a sister or rather someone equal to him. The thought would often make you tear up before you retire for the night, but it soon stops as you grow used to it, brushing it off as if it was nothing but a mere thought.
'Hey, Y/n. If I were to leave the village, would you look for me?'
'I don't understand, why would you be leaving?'
'No, it was a joke, would you actually believe that I'll leave?'
'Yeah, I would! Since you're an idiot who makes such thoughts come true!'
'HAHAHAHA— Would never!'
If only you asked more about that random question, if only you cared enough to make him puke out all the hidden thoughts that reside within his mind at that moment. You didn't. No...You couldn't. Because you know you couldn't bear to hear it from him, to hear that he wants to leave. It was those thoughts that made you regret it, regret not prying further, regret not asking why, and maybe, just maybe you would've asked to take you with him but you didn't.
A drop of water wakes you up from your trance, eyes greeting the gray sky that were once painted blue. Rain drops slowly pouring from the sky, you sighed. Standing up with one hand picking up the hem of your kimono in order not to trip over the fabric. A knock from the front door can be heard, your ears perking up from the sound. With hesitation, you walk towards the front door, footsteps slow and steady as you approach the sliding door.
"Who is it?"
You asked, voice raised slightly for the other person to hear.
"Hi it's me Hiiro, can I come in? The rain is pouring. Dad is going to scold me if I come home wet.."
Without any hesitation, you hurriedly opened the door and let Hiiro in, his red locks slightly wet from the rain. He gently shakes his head in an attempt to dry it, you sighed.
"Come, sit. I'll prepare a towel for you and something you can change on to."
You offered, hurriedly going to one of the rooms before Hiiro was even able to refuse and stop you. Somewhere around the comfort of your home, you had kept Rinne's kimono. Due to that one time you had to stay over at the Amagi's place due to the bad weather, his clothes didn't fit you. Due to the fact that he was tall and very much bigger than you. You come back to Hiiro, a towel and fresh clothes in hand.
"Here."
You handed it to him, he looked down at the clothes in your hand, something familiar hitting him as he reached a hand to get it.
"Is this?"
You nodded, sensing how the young boy misses his brother. Just as much as you do so, too.
"Haha...I miss him." He mumbled, looking down at the clothes yearningly.
You draped the towel over his head,
"There's no need to be sulky, the rain doesn't need us to cry along with."
You mused, doing your best to keep up the strong front in order not to cry in front of the poor boy. He looks up at you, eyes filled with determination.
"Y/n! I know what I'm going to do!"
You raised an eyebrow
"I'll destroy Idols and bring him back!"
You deadpanned internally, looking down at Hiiro with a nervous look.
"What???"
"I'll follow Nii-san into the city and destroy the idols that he once spoke of and bring him back home!"
Your brows furrowed, staring at Hiiro as if asking whether he's serious or not.
"Hiiro, aren't Idols humans too? Why would you destroy them—"
"Because they're the reason why Nii-san left!"
You smiled down at him, kneeling to sit behind him to dry his hair. Completely forgetting that he was slightly drenched from the rain.
"Y/n?"
"Yeah?"
"Would you stop me?"
You stopped from your movements, a small flashback of Rinne asking something similar to you years back. You sighed, ruffling Hiiro's hair.
"No."
"Why?"
"You deserve to see your brother again, Hiiro just as much as he deserves a scolding from me when he gets back!"
You smiled, that same fondness you once held for Rinne twinkling in your eyes once more as you looked at Hiiro. Hiiro hums happily at your approval and at the same time wincing. Hiiro had always been scared of your nagging, just like internally thinking of ways to escape his hometown in order to go to the city.
"I'll be leaving once the rain stops tonight."
He says,
"Alright, I'll pack something up for you before your departure."
You stood up, draping the towel over his head again as you made your way to the kitchen looking for anything that he could bring during his venture out on the city. Picking fruits, breads, anything that wouldn't go bad for days, putting it inside a bag to keep it secured.
The rest of the late afternoon went by swiftly, the rain stopping as soon as dark fell. Only the moon's light makes things visible, aside from the lights inside each house. You heaved your breath as you watched Hiiro on his departure, sneaking out in the woods, you gave him a pat on his head, whispered a small goodbye and waved as he dashed through the woods. You watched as his silhouette disappeared within the woods,
'There he goes, going after Rinne.' You think to yourself as you make your war back to your house, knowing that in a few hours. The current monarch will once again announce the search for his youngest son.
As you stand at the porch in front of your house, your partner opens the door and sees you standing outside, eyes seeming to be lost in thought. They approached you worriedly, cupping your face between their palms.
"Where were you? When I came back you weren't here."
They looked at you worriedly, you looked up, meeting their eyes blankly. You recognize those familiar eyes, the ones who belonged to the person whom you lovelessly married due to your parents'insistent nagging about you needing an heir to continue the clan.
"I took a walk." You lied, praying they'd take the bait and believe you. They looked hesitant at you, but seeing that lost look on your face, they believed you, pulling you in for an embrace. Their warm body is engulfing you, however, it's not warm enough to reach your heart. Your heart that belonged to someone else for a very long time, the heart that was robbed of who it wanted, the heart that yearned to see the person who it beats for once more, even if it's just for a short time.
It was something that you wished you could speak of loudly, something that you can tell someone so easily. To admit how much these feelings burdened you throughout the years, even during the years that went missing. You wanted to tell your parents then that your heart beats for him and no one else's, how you only wanted him and not anyone else, tell them how much it hurt you when he left without even saying a word. You could've wished that you confessed before he left, but you were unable to, because you wanted to keep the closeness between you two. You wanted for things to stay the same between you two, fearing rejection and damaging the bond you two had. Either way, it was already damaged, so he left. You laughed at the thought, of course, maybe it is the universe's way of saying that he's not meant for you. The arranged marriage followed suit a year after he went missing, the wedding was the most hated event you ever part took into. Who would be happy to marry someone they don't even like? Definitely not you, that's for sure. One thing that terrified you the most though, is having to consummate, you had asked your parents if it is really mandatory and they just said yes, having to produce an heir that one day will become the head of your clan. Hearing this made your stomach turn, you couldn't possibly commit something sacred to someone you don't love, can you? The arranged marriage was already insufferable enough, this one is very disgusting. Months after the events, you would often roam around the places where you and your childhood friend would often hang out, or play, you would often stay there for hours until someone snaps you out of your trance and brings you back to earth, or sometimes takes a nap around those areas. Due to the fact that you cannot find any comfort in your own home. It was a memory that haunts you till this day, and it never fails to turn your stomach enough to make you throw up and break down.
It had been almost two years since Hiiro departed, you were twenty one by now. Roaming around the village with your four year old daughter as she plays with the other kids, you watched her play tag with the other kids, keeping an eye on her to make sure she wouldn't trip and fall. You looked at her as she happily ran around, clearly enjoying herself when all of a sudden, a group of locals started hovering together on the gates of the village. Brows rising as you curiously watched the crowd, a familiar red hair catching your eyes. Despite being buried among the crowds, his tall stature stands out, definitely enough to peek over the crowds. Your daughter runs back to you, slightly scared of the new people that she had never seen before. You kept her behind you as you stood up, the unfamiliar group passing through the crowd of locals, a pair of cyan eyes meeting yours once he was able to exit the crowd. His head turning towards you, eyes widening at the sight of you, as if he realized that for the years that he went to the city, you were there waiting for him. You gave him a small bow before holding your daughter's hand and leaving the area immediately. His companions wondered what he was looking at, following his gaze— all they could see was a little girl running in a certain direction. They looked at each other and wondered if Rinne knows the little girl, taking note that they'll be asking him about her later. Your heart fluttered in your chest as you ran towards your house, eyes slightly tearing up as you held your daughter's hand as you both went inside.
Hours passed, your parents entered the house, greeting your daughter as a familiar man followed suit along with a man with cyan hair, another with a dark gray and another one with pink hair. Your eyebrows furrowed by the unexpected visitors of your home,
"I saw them earlier, Auntie, holding a little girl's hand as they went back here." Rinne, who looked frustrated, insisted.
"It's impossible, child. You see..." Your father trailed, looking at your mother worriedly. Not knowing how to relay your childhood friend the news.
"Gramama, grapapa!" Your daughter chirped as she ran towards your parents, hugging them both as she looked at the visitors, head tilting a bit as she looked at her grandparents questioningly. Rinne looked at the little girl, eyes scanning her futures. His eyes widened as he saw the similarities between you and her, hair, eyes, lips, everything. He saw the younger you that he once knew, the chirpy and cheerful child that he once dragged around the village. The one he grew up with but later on left, without even thinking.
"Who is she?" He asked, wanting to hear the reassurance from your parents that she is not your daughter. The denial sinking into his mind as slowly as the time grew slower when he saw you earlier.
"She's Natsu." Your mother replied, holding your daughter in her lap. The little girl only smiled up at Rinne.
"She's Y/n's daughter.." Your father added, hesitantly as he ruffled your daughter's hair.
"And where are they?"
The couple looked at each other, both worrying on how Rinne would react.
"They already passed, today's their first death anniversary."
As Rinne heard your father answer, he heard a ringing in his ear. As if the world around him changed, it couldn't be can't it? It's impossible. You were always healthy and happy, he swore he saw you earlier with your daughter. If that wasn't you, then who is? What happened exactly during the years that he was gone? For sure you were married, you already have a damn daughter! But why?— the thoughts in his head continued to swirl until your mother had cut him off of his trail of thoughts and brought him back to reality.
"They once confessed that she harbored feelings for you." Your mother started, Rinne had snapped his eyes towards your mother and continued to listen.
"It was before the day you went missing." She added, she looked at Rinne guiltily.
"She said she's been feeling like that for a very long time, we had hoped that you two would end up together but...you went missing the day after." Your mother looked at your daughter who seemed to have luled herself to sleep on her lap. It is true, the joy that she and your father felt after you confessed about your feelings towards Rinne but later on was wiped on their faces after receiving the announcement from the current Monarch about Rinne's disappearance.
"It was a disaster for everyone, but they were the most heartbroken out of all of us. They didn't go out, they had stopped visiting the river where you both used to hang out. They just changed, from the happy and cheery person, to the one that made everyone who knew them question if they truly know them." Your mother's eyes filled with guilt looked at Rinne.
"We decided to arrange them with someone, a year after you went missing—" your mother was cut off by Rinne, who had slightly raised her voice.
"You're crazy for doing that. Forcing them to someone who they don't know nor love!" Rinne bursts as he abruptly stands up and leaves the house, leaving his friends as his feet dragged him somewhere familiar. Somewhere he knows you enjoyed hanging around on The river. He stands by the side near the bridge, looking at the freshwater flowing. His cyan orbs scans the familiar place, he moves to sit on a big rock nearby.
"You really had to surprise me with such news, huh? Dyin and all? I can't believe it. Marrying someone else despite the fact that you have feelings for me. Kyahaha. Don't worry, I love you too." He spoke, voice breaking as he stared at the water.
"Your daughter looks so much like you." He adds, the lump on his throat growing as he holds back his tears.
"I could've sworn I saw you earlier, or...was that you guarding your daughter? Is your spirit here or what?" He smirked, chuckling at the thought of your ghost possibly visiting him and scaring the living shit out of him.
Rinne stayed there for the rest of the day, zoning out as he reminisced the last time he had talked to you. Wishing that it wasn't the last, wishing that he could have asked you to come and run away with him, because he knows that he can take care of you and you can do the same. It wasn't some childish feelings that he had then, it was love. It was something that's far too real for him to feel, but he felt it anyway. Relishing the love he had for you, the memories of you and him running around the village, or the picture of your hair bouncing as you ran away from him when you played tag. He sighed, he was planning to surprise you but, you were the one who surprised him instead. He was yearning for you, the distant feeling evident in his eyes, regret, mourn, guilt and love. He knew it hurt to have the person you dearly love pass away, but at this point. You just didn't pass, he also lost you. He lost the first person who had kept up with his antics and stupidity, the person who had kept his secrets, and the one who held his heart without them knowing.
Oh, how cruel can the world be? Separating the both of you in different paths, sharing the same feelings but not the same path. He smiled, making a quiet promise to himself. The next time you meet, he'll show you everything he learned while he was away in the city.

spoilers for the matrix event kind of ?
so i read the translation today of the whole event and it's just unbelievably bad , I'm not sure if you had a chance to look through . and takashi who's basically a little hiiro but actually he's a child of producer rinne once had with god knows if their father or just someone from amagi family ? it feels like a really bad fanservice and I'd like to hear you thoughts if you read this . it's okay if no and you can't really comment on that but i couldn't keep silent so forgive my off topic ramble .
i hope you will have a good day or night
{major matrix spoilers}
i just read the story myself. its alright, not much worse than any of the others, just hard to follow because its all rinne being rinne. its not really that fanservicy imo, i thought id hate it more than i do . my biggest gripe is akiras choice of dialogue for aira . again. i really wish he would stop doing that but thats besides the point.
edit: i also wanted to add that the part where tatsumi and mayoi are worried about hiiro and aira and theyre like "theyll be fine theyre strong capable people" and it immediately cuts to aira screaming bloody murder absolutely sent me
heres a summary of the story from what ive gathered . this is a long one so ill put it under a read more
rinne set up an elaborate scheme to protect the privacy of his hometown. when rinne first went to the city he saw an unnamed idol that inspired him to become one himself. that idol retired and became a teacher at an all girls school (i wanna bet its kimisaki academy. thats unimportant to the story tho.), and his producer , akan, was left struggling until she met rinne and began producing him. unfortunately the job became too much for her and she began to crack under the pressure, and had to retire for her own health. rinne told her about his hometown, where she would be able to live out the rest of her life in peace. to ensure no one would go looking for her , they set up a plan— they pitched a fake mystery program where she would go investigate a phenomenon in the area of the village, and "disappear mysteriously". the footage would never be released because of the "incident", and as long as they didnt find her she would be declared dead after being missing for long enough, therefore closing the resulting missing person case and leaving her to be unbothered and truly leave her past behind and start over. while she was living in the village she met rinnes father, and they eventually got married and had a kid, takashi (its never mentioned that hes their kid, but rinne says his father wishes he could make takashi his heir instead of rinne, implying hes his son) . he looks like hiiro because the amagi family has strong genes (and also likely because the devs could repurpose kid hiiros live2d model). rinne noticed his fans were getting increasingly curious about his hometown and worried that the extra attention would eventually cause trouble for the people in his village, and by extension disrupt the peaceful life akan had built there. his solution was to "reveal" his hometown in a tv program and satisfy his fans curiosity so theyd drop the subject. but he couldnt just make a program for no reason, so he pitched the matrix event , part of which would be hosted at the "amagis village". he didnt want it to be a large scale event, so he contacted the retired idol akan used to produce and asked him to pose as akan to produce the event since he was the only other person to have known her well enough to impersonate her and capitalizing on the fact that no one remembered who akan is or what she looked like. anzu ended up getting involved and as a result it turned into a much bigger event than rinne intended for it to be . the "village" that the event was hosted in was actually the contact point for the actual village, a place that looked convincing enough but was really just used as a meeting point for the village to import resources from the city without exposing their real location. but of course in typical rinne fashion, he only reveals this to the rest of alkakurei at the very end, so everyone was just very confused the whole time. rinne also claims takashi is his and anzus kid at first, but no one believes him of course because that makes no sense.
tldr; rinne is worried that his fans are getting too curious about his hometown and might eventually lead to it being exposed, so he stages a fake reveal to satisfy his fans curiosity.

i sorta like it. its not completely outlandish by enstars standards and it ties up a few loose ends about rinnes backstory (like what happened to his career as a solo idol before his duo unit with niki, why he became an idol, and who produced him before he met anzu) as well as further solidifying his character as someone who genuinely cares about the well being of others and will fight to protect them by any means necessary even if theyre not part of his life anymore .
