Idea for slick sunday hit me out of nowhere like a brick. Which is to say it's barely developed lmao if I think about it any more i might pop back in.

So, Alpha/beta/omega dynamics exist in the world but it only applies to werewolves. Small populations of werewolves live amongst humans but are considered lower beings by the snobbiest of humans (guess who this applies to). People can still be turned but it's sort of a taboo and a great way to be ostracized by more close-minded human communities. So, amidst some altercation, fueled by anger, lust, whatever, Billy bites Steve and turns him. He becomes an omega werewolf, and immediately all his social standing, his opportunities, everything goes tits up. His parents only barely know what omegas are, which is to say omegas are the women (or bitches when theyre feeling especially uncharitable) and alphas are the men etc, just very incorrect assumptions on how werewolves work. Well they can't get Steve out of sight fast enough. It's either ship him away or disown him, and Steve refuses to leave the kids, so it's out the door and out the family.

So now Steve is a brand new werewolf and a brand new omega and has no idea how either of these things are supposed to work. Most of the wolves in town that he knows of hate him because he was raised to look down on them first, and even if he's changed, he was an ass in high school. He's got so many new instincts that clash with a lifetime of experience being human, and now there are physical changes and why is he so hot all of the sudden? Well he cant be around Robin or the kids-- what if he hurts them? After all he's a dangerous animal now right? So he roughs it in the forest for awhile.

He's going through it.

Anyway, some way some how Eddie gets wind of a newly turned, weird af wolf living in the woods and roaming the streets at night. Or maybe they have a chance encounter, and Eddie, being a protector of the bullied and downtrodden that he is, makes the decision to help even before realizing who it is. And catches feelings for his trouble.

And Jotaro and Kakyoin largely act like little shits towards one another, but the author has promised a happy ending for these two, so I'll hold them up on that promise. You can really feel Jotaro's heartbreak, even if it's not explicitly stated, whenever Kakyoin screams and rages at him. It's a sad but extraordinary story so far. Just hurry up and kiss & make up already! xD

I was only getting our illustrious champion's measurements, so as to complete a gala costume for the upcoming League Festivities, my good man." Atticus supplies helpfully while resting an amicable hand on your waist. The motion isn't lost on Arven whose eyes narrow in frustration.

"Yeah? Well. I was...uh, bringing our illustrious champion some lunch!"

You smile, stepping away from Atticus' grasp, making Arven inwardly cheer a bit. "Really? Ugh, hell yeah!" You groan. "I'm starving! Where's the food?"

Arven panics a bit. "Uh... I...um. haven't made it yet. I was coming to get you, so I could, uh...take your order, special?"

"Oh great! Let's see..." You pause, wracking your brain to decide what you might like for lunch. Fuck, why is it so hard to decide what to eat whenever someone asks for your order?

Arven stands there looking between you and Atticus for a moment.

"Well, if you don't mind, we'll just be on our way then?" He says, trying (and probably failing, to be completely honest) to keep the vitriol from his tone.

Atticus only smiles as he waves the two of you out of the facility.

You leave without saying goodbye, too lost in thoughts of lunch and what you want Arven to prepare, so you text Atticus an apology later for your poor manners.

A few days later, Arven is once again looking for you. This time he's freezing his balls off in Montenevera because you said you had some business at Ryme's gym. When he heads over to the stage though, he sees you and that weirdo Giacomo huddled closely together watching something on a laptop, sharing a pair of old school wired earbuds.

He seethes so hot the icy temperatures hardly seem to faze him for a moment.

Wait. What the fuck? Why is he getting so possessive over you like this? Like it's not like you have feelings for that pineapple head anyway, right?

That's when he sees Giacomo place a casual arm around your shoulder as he points to something on the screen while his head bops to some beat unheard to Arven.

It's too intimate a touch, and Arven can't stand it. He shouts out a stuttered yell of your name, maybe a bit too loud for public, but he wants to be sure you hear him over whatever trash Giacomo is probably playing through the earbud.

You look up to see him in the distance and stand up, waving him over with a cry of "Arven! Hey!"

Meanwhile, your abrupt motion causes the laptop to topple over and the earbud to pop from your ear, making Giacomo scramble beneath you as he tries to keep the tech safe.

Arven jogs over, smugly satisfied to have interrupted whatever was happening. Was that dickish? Fuck, maybe it was, but you're smiling at him from up on the stage, and he forgets any semblance of whatever wrong thing it was he just did.

"I was wondering when you were gonna get here! Giacomo was just playing some of his beats that he's working on for the gala. Right?" You look down and notice your friend still scrambling to pick up the pieces of your sudden movement. "Shit, sorry. Did I fuck that up?"

He sighs. "No harm, no foul. I'm gonna head inside though. Ryme'll be pissed if anything happens to her equipment."

"Sorry!" You repeat, feeling your face flush in shame.

He shrugs. "S'fine."

"Can I...?" You're not quite sure how you could help, but it feels weird not to offer. You look to Arven for guidance, but he just shrugs and offers you a hand to help you jump off the stage.

"I think Giacomo's got it, right, buddy?" He almost called him little buddy as some kind of dig. Oh, he was so close, it was right there on the tip of his tongue, but he held it back.

Giacomo nods, none the wiser, and you take Arven's hand as you hop down. It's warm against your own. How long had you been out here listening to music anyway? You shiver, only now feeling the chill.

"Wanna grab some hot chocolate and get somewhere warm?" Arven asks you, resisting the urge to wrap a protective and warm arm around your shoulders.

"Sounds great! See ya, Giacomo!"

Arven leads you away without sparing a second glance at the guy.

The two of you end up grabbing some warm cups of hot chocolate from a vendor down the hill a bit and then post yourselves on a bench near a space heater looking out over the northern mountains and sea.

You sigh contentedly and lean against your best bud as you sip your drink, and Arven had to put a concerted effort forth into not physically melting.

"S-so, uh... The league has been keeping you busy lately."

"Yeah," You huff. "La Primera's all gung-ho about this gala thing, talking about how it'll reflect well on the league and the region and everything."

"So...she's been making you hang out with the team star bosses?"

You laugh. "What? No, they're just work friends. Or... I guess regular friends, too? They're all good people. You should hang out with them, too!"

Arven's chest squeezes uncomfortably. You go on. "We're just all involved in the project in different ways, and I'm overseeing a buncha stuff for La Primera anyway, so I've been using it as an excuse to catch up."

Arven hums. "They're...uh. They're not expecting you to bring a plus one to this gala... Are they?" It's not the most tactful he's ever been. But then again, Arven Sada-Turo has never exactly been the definition of tact in the first place.

"I'm allowed to bring a plus-one, yeah, but I don't think any of the Star folks need it. They all have their own invites, after all." You take another sip of your drink, blissfully missing the point.

Arven laments. "N-No. I mean. Uh... Can I...escort you, or whatever, to the gala? As your plus one?"

Smooth, Sada-Turo. Smooth.

"Oh! Sure! I'd love to bring you along! It'll be great! Big buddy and little buddy at it again!" You knock your shoulders gently against his jovially.

"N-No... I mean, not as 'buddies'... Like. Could we, maybe...?" Arven looks away from you and sets his cocoa down on the bench's armrest to cover the lower half of his face with his hand. His free hand meanwhile feels for yours, interlocking your fingers in a way that feels puzzle perfect. "Ya know?"

You look at your conjoined hands and smile widely.

"Oh! Oh, yes! Yes, of course, Arven, yes!" You put down your own drink, which is nearly empty now anyway to wrap him up in a massive beartic hug.

"I didn't think you'd want to! O-or that you even felt that way!"

Arven chuckles a little bit, your acceptance of his confession making him feel so much lighter than before. He returns your embrace, snuggling into the crook of your neck.

"Are you kidding? I've felt this way for... Geez, I dunno how long. I just... I didn't want the Star guys to get to you before I got my chance, ya know?"

You laugh, not breaking contact.

About 10 years ago, we were watching a show together (Jericho - it was cancelled). It was very dramatic, both of us would be tense.

At the end of every episode, the executive producer’s name would pop up on the screen.

Both of us would compulsively mumble the last name, “Turtletaub,” and then giggle, the tension from the dramatic show released.

We’ve got that neurospicy echolalia, so of course we started saying, singing, and yelling it randomly.

It then morphed into a series of silly pet names and noises, some of which we still use to this day.

"Twisty tubey turtle taubs"

"Tube taub"

We would just bellow "TAAUUBTAAUUBTAAUUB" like some demonic mantra

"Tube hole"

We still call each other “tube” more than any other pet name (even more than our original, “nugget/nugs.” We occasionally do a “nug tube,” or a “tube nugs”)

Pretty much daily, one of us will yell from across our open floorplan, “how’s my tube?” “Are you a tube?” "You tubin' over there?" “Hey, tube hole, want anything from the ‘Up World?”

Neither of us remember when/how "taub" got turned into "tube," but it has stuck with us.

When I first got invited to Ao3, I didn’t think I’d ever write or post anything, so I just picked the first thing I thought of. I was going to try to change it, but I was too impatient. I wanted my first fic out immediately, so I just went with it.

Partner and I still giggle pretty regularly that it’s my username. Whenever I show him one of the amazing comments y'all gift me with (tysm! 😭) that refer to me by the username, he mumbles it the way we did on that shitty old couch, and then I mumble it back until we dissolve into the sillies for a couple of minutes.

When I'm at my desk he often asks me, "are you turtletaubin' (or "tube holing" - again, sorry!) over there? You writing the smuts for all your tubes?" (Yes, you are all my tubes now, and I am so sorry!! Please forgive me 🙏🏼)

It feels so ridiculous, but it has made us laugh for a decade now. I don’t even remember much of that show besides the fact that it was tense, and dramatic, and we loved it.

So it has nothing to do with turtles, or turtle doves, or German words.

Sometimes I feel like a weirdo for having James and Sirius play wizard chess not Sirius and Remus, which seems to be the only thing I see. But aside from the fact that I see James and Sirius doing practically everything together, the scenes I write are often modelled after my husband and his best friend (my husband is quite private and his best friend has adhd and they are both brilliantly smart).

I don’t necessarily see James as having adhd (which I have), but I do bring in elements when writing him as young. And I especially enjoy combining that with a superb memory that is even better than Sirius (who’s got a great memory too). But Sirius is less distracted, and able to keep focus for longer. So James tries to suggest using timers (using their wands) and Sirius is refusing to. On top of that Sirius likes trying to distract James, which I mean, James is here for! So Sirius almost always wins, but not because either are better than the other. They are equally brilliant, differently.

Tell me, is it such a crime to write this rather than Remus and Sirius playing? Also, if Remus would play with someone I think it’d be Peter (because otherwise he’d be left out and that’s exactly the sort of considerate stuff Remus would do) and if not he’d play with James. I actually think Sirius is only looking for opponents that can challenge him, and while Remus was clever he spends a lot of the canon talking about how James and Sirius were just best at everything they did.

I tagged as both platonic and not so platonic prongsfoot. It’s just a cute story that could go either way and I hope my fellow prongsfoot-ers enjoys my ramblings!! But you can politely message me if I get it wrong! I’m aiming for joy and not to annoy my lovely comrades 🥰

I mean in terms of vibes? Yes, absolutely, I think after the chaos of living with Armand during DM I think Daniel would be a fairly tolerant guy who just wants to chill when he's home.

Gosh Daniel is one of those 'there are two wolves inside you' kinds of guys where on one hand I see him dressing for comfort- very much corduroys, jeans, t-shirts (the tight 70s kind), maybe a shearling jacket or a leather jacket. He spent a lot of time running from Armand, and then a lot of time traveling with Armand, and so he'd have stuff he could just grab and go and be at ease in. And those are fairly unassuming clothes, right? Stuff that makes him look approachable and able to enter most spaces so he could find a stranger to interview.

But also!! He admits himself in DM that he loved the luxury Armand brought into his life with the tailored suits, the mink lined raincoats, all the fine custom made clothes. On his best days at Night Island I see him in some real nice linen suits, shirt partly unbuttoned 80's style. Perfectly fitted, stupid expensive, and maybe it was picked by Armand but he had say in colors and style.

So ultimately post-canon I picture him as a merger of the two: someone you see out and don't think much about what he's wearing, it's just jeans and a sweater, but it's made of nice materials and fits him well. Some vintage, some custom, but nothing ostentatious, and with an 80's edge to it. Because he's still a vampire, and they all tend to harken back to the style of the time they were turned in.

Now, does that 'family' imply kids? Nathan seems to love children (the same source says she wants to increase company profits to donate more money to kids), but... I think she might do so in a slightly, how to put it, more theoretical / slightly less hands-on way? I'm basing this on how she interacts with baby Sam in episode 1x09. When handed a baby, her first instinct is to go "no no no that's not for me"; she only holds him when Bunny says they need a woman because Sam is calling for "mama", so it's more of an identity-affirming thing than an I-really-like-babies thing. OTOH, she is quite nurturing, and she doesn't look too uncomfortable once she does hold Sam. But, OTOOH, she treats Rose and Kid as her peers; in spite of them being teens and her (probably) being in her 30s, she acts more like an older sister than like a parent or even an aunt to them. So I think the "happy family" thing is mostly about... you know. Having someone you share an unconditional love with; someone you can go home to. Which doesn't seem to be something she has from her parents any more. 🙁 (But she does seem to get along well with her younger sister, which, well, see the thing about Rose and Kid). And I absolutely think that is Keith and the dogs for her, yes!!! They seem to want so many of the same things, and they get along so easily and so well (as soon as they get over their slight communication bump), and they obviously like spending time together in all contexts. (It's probably one of those "Oh. Wait. I already have that family I wanted, and it's this adorable weirdo and his fluffy boys" kind of things.) ❤️💜 (I could see both of them maybe wanting to have kids in the future; but I also don't see Keith ever retiring unless he has to, and Nathan probably wouldn't want to stop being his Buddy, and they're both ridiculously busy. So my personal idea is they just keep helping and supporting kids everywhere forever, including mentoring more and more younger heroes, but they never have their own children... Although that might be me projecting, because I'm very much an "I don't want kids EVER" kind of person. 😅)

Oooh. I don't usually naturally come up with such minute headcanons on my own, but now that you've asked... 🤔 I think Keith might be someone who grounds himself by touching stuff? Like, petting his dogs, holding objects, something like that. (Possibly the kind of person who, when holding hands with someone, would keep stroking his thumb along the other person's hand without quite realizing he's doing it.) As for Nathan, I could see her maybe biting her lip or the end of a pen or something when she's frustrated, or maybe also when she's trying to focus. (Or her nails, too, but only if she can do so without ruining her manicure, lol.)

Stars glimmering in the sky,  they attired every kind of gaze from the inquisitive of the sailors looking at them to find their way to the loners, looking at them with a whirlwind of thoughts swimming in their minds to couple romantically looking up at them only to soon indulge in far more pleasurable activity letting their kisses be a worthy show for the crowd of the glimmering constellation witness to their love, to the dreamers searching the universe to find answers for all the question that arises in them, wandering in their reveries like they were used to, a place to let their hearts free of chains of any sort ... not being called weirdos but finally free to be themselves be it for a while.

It was like that he felt everytime he looked up at the night sky, nestled near the border of the ocean where sand meet the water caressing from time to time the curious sea animals that went to check up on him, more often that any of his friends and family ever did anyway, judging him like everyone else a freak with his head on the clouds more interested to learn about other cultures than about politic, struggling all the same to do any choice that he deemed better for his Kingdom, his role of a prince no more than a chain he felt attached to his wrist, able to break free only at night when everyone was asleep and his guards thought useless to watch over the meek and mild prince of Atlantis.

His eyes locked to the stars above the only place he felt to belong to, the slow rolls of the waves crashing on the shore pleasant melody to that spectacle, noticing a figure sat on the sand gazing at the sky the same way before he knew it words he never intent to spoke resonated in the still air of the night

“Do you like the stars ?”

he swimmed closer to it taking on her figure quietly sat on the shore, little waves crashing on her feet melting with the long light gown now floating above the water, startled by the voice she looked at him in the dark, noticing him only when he was so close to her she could almost have touched him if she wanted to, 

“I am sorry I did not want to scare you away… please stay.” his voice  reached her before she could go away, moved by the pleading apologetic tone of his voice she returned to her place on the shore as little waves begin melting back into her gown

“I do like stars and you ?” he was becoming bolder he knew of that, maybe even bothering her, but at that time something else was winning over, his need, his deep desire to have someone to talk to, someone who understood him, someone that maybe could see him as something more than the weird kind prince he was … not receiving an answer he sighed in defeat when suddenly her voice crystal clear and soft like the frizzy breeze rustling on the ocean resonated in the still air of the night.

“I do too.”

Her smile was the most glimmering he has ever seen and her eyes two pools of turquoise he want to dive in and never remerge shining under the light of the full moon, as hair wavy and black like the night sky rustled around her beautiful features

“What is your name ?”

“Keith Howell… and yours ?”

“I am July.”

“It is such a pretty name it suits you.”

“Thank you.”

her question coming unexpected like a summer storm

“Are you not cold in the water ?” no one ever asked that, no on ever cared enough to ask, her eyes hiding an hint of concern as she stared at him warming his heart

“Thank you for your concern but I am not. The water at night can be surprisingly warm.”

a knowing smile light up her lips as she continued 

“From the morning sun, I thought the ocean was different.”

“Not in this part, here we are protected from the cold and harsher sea currents from the barrier reef, we build it up for that reason.”

“You ?”

“Well my kind.” confusion glimmering in her eyes, he bit his lips nervously while his fingers kept fidgeting with his bracelet

“I did not want to deceive you but … I am not human.” her eyes widened in disbelief, he hold his breath mustering enough courage before facing her again

“I am a merman.” he closed his eyes not to see disgust curling her lips, reopening only at the sound of her voice tickling his ears

“I never met one.” he could not believe it at first so much he had to pinch his hand to see he was not dreaming, for there was nothing but curiosity painted in her glimmering eyes as she got closer to him, unable to look away as she stared in his amber eyes

“Well …I have never met a human either.”

“Me neither.” it was his time to stare at her taken aback by her revelation, swimming closer to her rock

“I am a water nymph, more precisely a nymph of the Ocean.”

“There are others kinds ?”

“Oh yes, some are bonded to lakes while some others to seas.”

“ I did not know that … we have pretty much the same thing, some of our kind thrive in colder water while others do in tropical ones.”

“Interesting.”

The curious stars only witness to their peculiar encounter, first of many others as their heart grow closer each day, he taught her the constellations and all sorts of legends about the stars while she helped him understand the water currents, all the while learning together to take care of the water animals they both loved so much.

It was a warm night, they were admiring the little twinkling stars appear one by one in the sky, melting from afternoon to night in the span of few hours they spend leisurely talking about everything and nothing, until she pointed out at a shooting stars, her eyes glimmering like the full moon as a sun bright smile curled her lips, she turned to face him 

“I never told you that but there is a custom among my people, it is said if you wish upon a shooting star your desire will become true, and if a couple do it they will be together forever.”

“It is really interesting. We shall do it.” she nodded enthusiastically 

“Remember to keep the secret to yourself or it will not become real.” he was used to keep things to himself anyway but to please her he nodded, shooting her a side line glance once the shooting stars come into view, desiring for their wish to match and be turned into reality, how beautiful it would have been if it worked, he sighed softly admiring her gorgeous smile lit up her pretty features, resisting the urge to caress her soft cheeks, unaware of the gaze she stole from time to time to his side, seeing his amber eyes reflecting the brightness of the moon, shining over his curly grey hairs she did her best to resist the temptation to slide her fingers in his soft locks, oblivious to that feeling taking roots in their hearts.

All the creatures of the ocean advised him to not meddle with people outside the water not to love them for their were far more instinctual people than oceanic ones irrational and weirds he should have been away should have despised them even, and yet every time he thought of her he felt something he never had in his chest an indescribable warmth spreading from his heart galloping wildly like a seahorse, countless nights they spend together watching the stars and talking about the usual thing the weather, their worlds ... and themselves, little by little they hearts were caught under the spell of love.

No one approved of it and no one ever would have if the old men and women of their tribes would have not recognized publicly that feeling claiming it unbreakable, forbidding everyone to tear them apart, forcing them to accept their union, and by consequence even the frequent visit they paid to one another, able to disguise their bodies and meet in each other world with the help of a magic seashell ring they gifted one another.

She was a water nymph.

He was a merman.

They should have never met but they did, two worlds believed irreconciliable were now allies able to forget their quarrels in honor of a prosperous peace for their kinds.

Their feeling was unusual, they were frowned upon by everyone and yet after seeing the everlasting happiness their love brought them both, changed minds and hearts of the more rebels people among their kinds, all that give immense entertainments of the asters and all the star peeking curiously at them hiding behind the clouds as the tales of a forbidden love turned reality were the talk of the animal proof and evidence that there was no breaking the most powerful magic of them all enrapturing people since the beginning of the universe for mighty and deep was the spell of love.
