okay um modern hellcheer au (streamers, rockstar/popstar, rockstar/streamer, streamer/popstar, something idk) where they both either stream or do lives on instagram or tik tok or whatever. they're both pretty popular but their content is so drastically different that their fans don't have a lot of overlap (and nobody would even guess that they knew OF each other, let alone knew each other rather personally). they each have a little workspace office area where they do all of their streams. one day chrissy is on live and spins around in her office chair while holding her phone. someone in the chat says something like 'your background looks like the room in eddie munson's videos lol' and she goes 'oh eddie? he's my boyfriend' and goes on to reveal that they've been dating for a good five years (and living together for four)
then she shows the full room behind her: the office is divided perfectly down the middle. one half is eddie's setup, decorated with lots of red and black and music and dungeons & dragons stuff. the other half is chrissy's, with lots of pastels and her own music stuff.
(the only reason they got away with it for so long is because they have a curtain that goes down the middle of the room, she just forgot to pull it closed before going on live)

Birds and Mice and Tea Parties 20
Masterpost
AN: B really was trying his best to protect Danny last time, he just was missing too much information. Poor Danny...
No reading over. We suffer and post at 2am.
-
It had been two weeks since the last rogue Wayne visit.
Danny hadn’t intended to keep track. There was no reason to. One visit from Cass and one from Tim did not a pattern make.
He tried to dismiss the observation. He had plenty to do; it wasn’t like he didn’t have friends. The bi-weekly trivia group would start meeting again soon. He also had a TTRGP session that did its best to meet around all that life threw at them. Tucker and him played online games when they could make schedules match and he and Sam talked when she was stateside. He even had regular lunches with coworkers!
Still, there had been something different about spending time with the family.
So no, Danny hadn’t meant to keep track, but he still knew it had been two weeks and a day. But of course he wouldn’t see the Waynes that often. Bruce was a very busy man and most of the children would have no reason to come to W.E. They had their own lives with work and school and being kids or young adults. The other visits had simply been flukes, as nice as the visits had been.
The subtle feeling of melancholy that had settled over him was ridiculous and he wasn’t having it. His mood was simply off because of the whole Ancient thing. The way it was affecting his health didn’t make feeling better any easier either.
Danny leaned against the wall of the elevator as he tried to catch his breath. He really shouldn’t be walking right then to get lunch, not with the way that he felt, but he hadn’t had anything at his place to make lunch with. He hadn’t had the energy to go shopping. He’d just go somewhere close instead of walking to anything on the other side of the park.
The natural reverb of the lobby assaulted Danny as he stepped out of the elevator.
He just had to get through the lobby, the street, the restaurant, back through the street, and through the lobby again. Then he could hide in his office and eat. Or he could hide in there and eat as long as Lucius didn’t find him. Maybe even Lucius would give him a break today though.
“Dr. Fenton…?”
Danny looked up from rubbing his neck.
It was Tim. Damian was at Tim’s side, flanking him like a little guard dog and scowling. Tim was frowning too. Danny immediately wanted to fix whatever was wrong.
“Look at that, a pair of Waynes. How are you two?”
“That is unimportant,” Damian said with a little sniff. “You are clearly unwell. I assume you are returning to your apartment to rest?”
“Oh, no, I’m just going to go grab lunch. I’m alright, really,” Danny said and put on the best smile he could muster.
Tim and Damian looked at each other in some sort of silence conversation. Danny started to edge away from them, thinking he could escape before they came to some sort of end. He really needed out of the lobby and its echoing sounds.
A startled shriek from the entry way cut off that plan.
Danny twisted to face the sound as he stepped in front of the kids.
Of course it was a rogue, what else would it be in Gotham? It was a rogue, but at least it was the Mad Hatter and his squad of likely mind controlled goons. He usually wasn’t prone to death and destruction like some of the others were. But still, Danny felt his metaphorical hackles rising. The kids were here.
The kids were here and sure to draw the Mad Hatter’s attention if he saw them. Danny stepped slowly backwards, herding the kids away from the scene. At least they weren’t far into the lobby.
“Back up to the stairwell,” Danny said lowly, trying to cast his voice behind him.
“Tch. We can—”
“The elevator, the back left one,” Tim said quietly but firmly over his brother’s protest. “I have a code to take it to a safe room in the basement.”
“If he kills the power,” Danny started.
“The elevators have emergency back up.”
“That’s not very good behavior for a tea party, is it?” the Matter Hatter shouted at someone.
Danny bit back a rising noise of anger in his throat. His fingers twitched to act. But he couldn’t. The best plan was to get the kids out of there away from any action.
“Yes I see, Damian,” Tim hissed. “We’re almost to the elevator.”
“Call it as soon as you can,” Danny said. Was there a reverb to his voice? It felt like there was a reverb to his voice. No, no, he couldn’t, he had to…
“That’s better! See? This is how you behave when someone invites you to a tea party! Now where is that little dormouse?” the Mad Hatter called. “I know I saw him come in here! With an even littler one too.”
He wanted Tim.
“Calling the elevator.”
“Another mouse? A rat? A cat?"
The Mad Hatter wanted Tim and Damian.
“Here mousy mouse mice… where are you?"
Danny would not let that happen.
“Oh there you are! Hiding back by the doors, of course he is!” The Mad Hatter said. The crowed parted in fear. His wide, manic eyes looked right past Danny and he grinned. “Get them. We have a tea party we’re late for.”
“Over my dead body,” Danny growled.
The Mad Hatter blinked at Danny like he just noticed him for the first time. His goons rushed past him and through the crowd. “Oh, who are you? Never mind, if death is what you want, we can make that happen.”
Danny couldn’t hold back the chortling laughter. “See, that’s where you have a problem you don’t even know you could have.”
“And what is that?”
“You couldn’t handle my dead body,” Danny said just as the first goon reached them.
Danny stepped forward. He ducked under the swing of the punch and used the momentum to spin the goon around. With a push of his ghostly power, he sent the attacking goon careening into the next one and they both went tumbling.
“Danny, it’s here!” Tim shouted.
Not turning his back to the attackers, Danny stepped backwards into the elevator. Tim slammed a button and the doors basically snapped closed, much faster than they should. Danny was left staring at the polished metal surface of the elevator. Luminous green stared back at him. Soft black feathers dotted his temples. His fingers ended in talons. And he could feel it.
He could feel the skin on his back started to split.
Wings.

NFWMB - part 2
Summary: “Y/N’s first self defense class leads to some inevitable tension, all of which is thrown out of Y/N’s mind when she gets an unexpected visit at her office desk…”
Wc: 4.8k
Tropes: boxer!Harry x innocent!reader
Warnings: sexual TENSION😈, brief mention of SA, blood
A/N: hi everyone! I am so positively overwhelmed by the great response this new series has been getting🥹. I have such a good feeling about this and I hope you’ll appreciate this little adventure we’re going on😋. Xxx
P.S. I would also recommend listening to ‘Knuckles’ by the Snuts. Not only because it’s a great song, but along with NFWMB, it’s kinda the theme song of this series🤭.

Series Masterlist
It was 8:55pm.
Harry had never been so fixated on time before. It was like his brain was counting down each second, even when he was trying to concentrate on quite literally anything else.
All weekend he had been wondering whether or not Y/N would show up tonight. Even though he had other things to do, and plenty of more urgent matters occupying his mind, the thought of her still managed to take up some space.
He hadn't heard from her. Not that it was technically possible; he didn't give him any contact information. God, why was he sweating this so much?
8:59pm.
The gym was entirely empty. He always closed early on Tuesdays. The rest of the week he stays open until 12am. There are more people who go to the gym late at night than he thought, but since he needed to cut himself some slack, he decided to use Tuesdays for that.
Not that he really cut himself some slack. He'd stay and do his own exercises, then stay longer to work on administration. He would eventually go home at around 11pm. Greg scolded him for it, demanding he take some time for himself, but that seemed to be impossible for Harry.
He loved this. He loved helping people and the shitty administrative stuff was nothing in comparison to the smiles he would see on people's faces upon leaving the gym. Whether that was one of the women in his defense classes, or a man who'd reached his new weightlifting goal. He loved seeing people happy.
9:04pm.
A wave of disappointment flooded through Harry's body. He didn't even know why he thought she'd come. It's not like he gave any indication that she wanted to. She actually told him, outright, that she didn't. He needed to check himself into a mental hospital or something... occupying himself so much with a girl he met once. He needed some sort of reality check.
The sound of the reception bell tore Harry from his thoughts, his head shooting towards the hallway where the sound was coming from. His feet began to move before he could even comprehend, and when he turned around the corner, a small sigh left his mouth.
Shit. There she was. Wearing baggy sweatpants and an oversized Rolling Stones t-shirt. Her hair was up in a ponytail, much like it had been the last time he saw her. It still looked different, though, as if she had put in more effort this time. There were no stray hairs, and the ponytail was braided. Her eyes were as big as ever, and he could've sworn they gleamed a bit when they landed on him.
Angel.
"Hi." She smiled shyly, adjusting the strap of her duffel bag that slung around her shoulder. The corner of Harry's mouth tugged up.
"Hi."
She didn't say anything, just stared at him and waited for him to continue talking. Harry, however, was too busy with looking at her that he forgot he should probably say something. It's why it took him a little longer to say:
"C'mon, let's go to the other room."
He waited for her to pace towards him before he turned around and walked to the training room. He tried, he truly did, to stay casual and just keep walking, but he couldn't help it. His head turned—just to check, he said to himself—to see the beautiful woman still walking behind him. She really was here.
Having entered the training room, Harry walked onto the mat, Y/N following him closely. He turned around and gestured for her to put her bag on the ground. She did as instructed, and stood back in front of him. He noticed her posture, the way it was extra straight. She was compensating for the insecurity that displayed in the way she fiddled with her fingers behind her back. She probably thought he didn't notice, but there were mirrors all around the room, so he could see every single part of her.
Harry titled his head downwards and looked at her. He was only realizing it now; the height difference between them. He had seen it last week, but now that he was standing close to her, it was more prominent.
"I want to say beforehand, that during these classes I will have to touch you." He said softly, his voice still in that low baritone. Y/N's lips slowly parted, but no words came out. "Is that okay with you?"
From the way her cheeks flushed after vigorously nodding her head, he could tell she had found her quick agreement to be a bit embarrassing. Harry only smiled.
"Words, please, Y/N."
"Y—yes," She quickly answered, and Harry opened his mouth to communicate his approval, but the continuation of her consent caught him off guard. "You can touch me."
His heartbeat began to pick up a bit, blood rushing towards parts that it should definitely not be rushing to. He clenched his jaw and balled up his fists, hoping the tension in the other parts of his body would refrain his cock from straining too hard against his pants.
Jesus, what was wrong with him? Why was he acting like he just got out of prison?
"Let's warm up." He said gruffly, sounding more moody than he wanted to. Y/N nodded, looking at her feet as she took a step backwards. She waited as Harry walked to the bench to get jump rope. When he walked back and handed it to her, her eyebrows knitted in confusion.
"It's to get your heart rate up. It'll have you ready for the exercises."
"Okay." She took the rope from his hands and got ready, but never started the exercise.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked. Her eyes went all big like it did in that first class.
"Oh— no, nothing. I was waiting for you. I don't know why... you're the instructor, of course." She was rambling again, shutting her eyes tightly for a few seconds after closing her mouth. Harry bit his lip to keep himself from chuckling at the woman in front of him.
"You know what, you're right, I'll join you. I haven't done my exercises today anyway." He said as he grabbed another rope. It was a big fat lie; he had trained for a good two hours today. But these exercises were harmless fun, and if it would make her feel more comfortable, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
"Would you like some music? I always prefer it because it tends to get kind of quiet in here. But we don't have to. It's really a personal preference." Harry explained, holding up his phone. A small smile appeared on Y/N's face.
"Uhm, yeah, that would be great. What do you usually listen to?"
Harry shrugged. "Uhm, rap usually."
Y/N hummed. Harry squinted his eyes at the woman in front of him, then raised a brow.
"You don't like that, do you?"
"What? No! I don't care, really. You can put on whatever you want." She was quick to defend herself. She wasn't exactly lying. Y/N didn't care, she wouldn't dream of opposing the man in front of her.
"What do you usually listen to?"
"Uhm, I like older music." You confessed. Harry tilted his head.
"Yeah? What kind?"
"Jazz, Soul, classic rock, a bit of hard rock, disco."
Harry nodded, and looked down at his phone to type in something. Y/N frowned—probably wondering what he was doing—but a giggle escaped her as 'Let's Hear It For The Boy' started playing through the speakers. Harry's eyes twinkled as he took in the sight of her. He couldn't help but smile pridefully, knowing he made her laugh like that. It felt like an accomplishment.
"Okay, let's begin."
And so, Harry and Y/N began jumping with the jump rope next to each other. He told her to count until fifty out loud, and she obeyed him. By the time they were done, Y/N's heavy breathing made her realize that her physical shape had gotten a lot worse since moving out. She always used to run back when she lived with her parents, she told Harry, but she hadn't found time for it since she'd moved.
They did a couple other warm-up exercises together, and when stretching the final time, Harry dared to comment.
"You're pretty flexible."
Y/N looked up, shrugging at her instructor. "I was a cheerleader back in high school, and I used to do a lot of yoga in college. Maybe it stuck."
"Yeah, probably." Harry nodded, admiring the woman in front of him. She talked so casually about herself. She was actually impressively flexible; it's why he noted it in the first place. She was taking herself for granted, he could tell.
"Okay, let's start, shall we?" Harry said, getting up to his feet. Y/N silently nodded as she followed in his footsteps. "I'm going to teach you some basic things, but I also want to ask you if there are some specific exercises you would like to focus on. If so, we can start by handling those after having learned the basics, okay?"
"Okay." Y/N said, taking a deep breath.
"You can think about it, and tell me next time." Harry added, and as The Jackson 5's ABC began to play, the real exercises started.
Y/N listened intently as he explained her the basic things about throwing a punch. Balance was the most important thing, Harry had said. She followed his instructions closely and stood with her feet shoulder-with apart, her right foot—the dominant one, he told her it had to be—slightly ahead of her left one.
"Good." Harry's sound of approval had awakened something in your stomach. "Now clench your fist— you have to wrap your thumb around your index and middle fingers. Otherwise you'll break your thumb."
Y/N did as he said, keeping her wrist straight. Her stomach dropped as he let out a disapproving hum. He went to stand beside her as he lowly said:
"Bend your knees."
As soon as the words had left his mouth, Y/N bent her knees a bit. From all the nervousness she kept stretching her limbs all the time, going against his order. Seeing her answer to him so quickly had made him smirk a bit.
"Good."
He didn't miss the deep breath Y/N took as he spoke. She desperately wanted his approval. It was endearing... and other things that it shouldn't be. Harry mentally slapped himself in the face. This was a professional environment, why were his thoughts racing the same way they used to back when he was a teenager? It was pathetic, really.
"Now, when you punch someone, it's important to put your entire body into it. If you punch without moving the rest of your body, it won't have as much of an impact. You have to generate the power from your core and legs. That way, the blow will land way harder." He explained, trying not to smile at Y/N's faint frown as she took in all the he was saying. She was so concentrated, wanting to absorb every piece of information he shared. "Like this."
He showed her what he meant. Y/N nodded and tried to imitate her instructor, but without much luck.
"You don't have to lean forward that much. If you turn with your entire body, it'll do that for you." He said, and had to fight the small grin that threatened to form on his lips when she tried to hold herself back too much this time. She huffed in annoyance.
"How am I ever going to be able to defend myself again if I can't even get a punch right?" She murmured, mainly to herself, as she pinched the bridge between her nose. Harry's ears perked up at what she said.
What did she mean with 'again'? Rage started simmering in his body at the sole implication of someone having done something to this woman that made her have to defend herself. Is that why she was so interested in the class? Why she wanted to learn so bad despite being so shy? Because someone had hurt her, or threatened to, and made her feel unsafe?
"Can I touch you?"
Y/N's gaze shot up to Harry's, keeping them locked for a few seconds before she let out a soft 'yes'. He nodded once, went to stand behind her, and told her to get back into position. As soon as she had, he grabbed her hips. Firm, but light.
"Do it again, slowly."
Y/N did as he said, and let him help her move her body in the right way. Automatically, her foot stayed in the right position, and she wasn't really leaning forward anymore.
"That's it." Harry said proudly. He was kind of caught off guard when Y/N sucked in a breath and turned around, his hands falling off her hips immediately. For a second, he felt bad, not having wanted to make her feel uncomfortable in any way, but when he saw her swallow, biting her lip, he knew that his touch had caused something else.
Fuck. He was definitely better off not knowing.
"I— Can I drink some water?" Y/N asked, almost sounding like she was out of breath. Harry did his best not to let it get to his head too much as he nodded, biting inside of his cheek. She scurried over to her bag, and took out a water bottle, of which she probably gulped half down before she set it down on the bench.
"Okay, c'mon. We have a lot to cover." Harry said when he felt she was lingering by the bench too much. She immediately walked back to him, and there was sense of pride that filled Harry's chest. Such a good listener, she was.
Y/N was exhausted. Her first self defense class was finally over, and it was a lot harder than she thought it'd be. They went over the basics of punching, and Harry had decided that she definitely needed to build some muscle. In the end, they practiced half an hour longer than the original hour Y/N thought the class was going to be. The regular classes were sixty minutes, so she'd just assumed.
It was also unbearable. She couldn't believe how worked up she was getting over the proximity between her and Harry. It was embarrassing, she had to be ovulating or something. Of course, it probably also had something to do with the fact that Harry was singlehandedly the most beautiful man she'd ever seen, but she shouldn't have let that distract her from her goal. She needed these classes, she needed not to be weak anymore.
After the class, Harry told her to be here at the same time next week, and she thanked him before walking out of the gym.
Harry probably didn't expect her to still stand outside ten minutes later when he walked out to lock up, but when he noticed the pouring rain, it looked like he understood.
"Did you walk?" He asked casually, locking the door. Y/N shook her head.
"Bike." She pointed to the soaking wet bicycle a few feet away.
"D'you need a ride?" He questioned, stepping towards her. Again, she shook her head.
"It's fine, I'll just wait until this blows over."
As if the universe and the weather were playing a crude joke on her, loud thunder ripped through the sky just as the sentence left her mouth. Harry tilted his head a bit.
"Yeah, no. I'm dropping you off at home." He said, and before she could protest, Harry began to walk away, right into the rain. He stepped into his car and drove over to Y/N, then got out of the car again. As he approached her, he asked:
"Where are the keys to your bike?"
Too stunned to say anything, she just handed him the keys. She was a little occupied with how hot he looked all soaking wet and— oh Jesus, she needed shock therapy.
She watched as Harry carried the bicycle and out in the trunk of his car. The grey hoodie that he must've thrown on before leaving the gym was a few shades darker now, and strands of his hair clung to his forehead. He made his way to the passenger door, and opened it, a wave of his arm gesturing for her to get in. She ran into the car, the door closing behind her with a harsh thud.
Harry ran around the car and got in himself, closing the door and turning the vehicle on immediately. Y/N's eyes went wide as Harry pulled the hoodie over his head, tugging his t-shirt up a bit along with it. She eyed the tattoos that inked his hip bones. They seemed like... leaves of some kind? She couldn't exactly make it up in such a short time because she shifted her gaze to the car window and strictly kept it there as soon as she'd realized she was staring.
"Where to?" Harry asked, but Y/N only replied with a distracted hum, not daring to take her eyes off the car window. She had never been around someone who'd made her so nervous before. Sure, she'd been awkward a whole bunch in her life, especially around her crushes in high school. But she was 23 now, she shouldn't be behaving like this around men anymore!
"Y/N?" He leaned forward, waving a hand in front of her face. She snapped her head to him.
"Oh, sorry!" She said, her tone revealing how stressed she was.
"It's okay. Just type in your address, and I'll drive you home." Harry answered sweetly. His soft, green eyes made him seem like much less of an intimidating man. That was, until one would look further down his body of course. The man was extremely jacked, and while that was very hot, it could also be quite scary. But she couldn't find any part of herself that was afraid of him.
No, he might've intimidated her, and that might've made her act like an complet fool in front of him, but she wasn't scared of him.
The silence during the car ride was mostly filled up with Harry asking Y/N questions about herself. Where she was from, what she'd studied. She, alike, returned those questions and found out a bit more about Harry's past as well.
The he was a boxer, retired two years ago, and now owned several gyms. Y/N knows she should've been taken aback a bit when she asked Harry's age and he said he was 29, but for some reason it worked the opposite for her.
Was this a topic for therapy?
She hadn't time to think too much of it, as he soon pulled up in front of her apartment complex. They both got out of the car and Harry helped carry her bicycle to a little garage for bikes at the side of the apartment.
They walked back towards the car, both drenched in water by now, and Harry turned around to say goodbye, but Y/N interrupted him.
"What do I owe you?" She asked, not caring that she was standing in the pouring rain and she was shivering from the cold. A sort of didn't want the conversation to end just yet. Harry thought it over for a few seconds, then shrugged.
"Nothing." He said, to which Y/N knitted her brows.
"But I need to pay you for the classes." She stated the obvious, at least she felt like she was.
"It was a try-out class." Harry replied with a smile.
"I already had my try-out class." She reiterated. Harry shook his head.
"That was your group try-out class, this was your private try-out class. Try-outs are always free."
Y/N bit her lip, unsure of what to say to that. Eventually she settled on something in the middle. "Fine. I'll just tip you extra good the upcoming classes."
Harry let out a laugh. "Sure, angel."
She could've sworn that her heart skipped the beat at the sound of that nickname rolling off Harry's tongue. Did he really just call her that? Y/N scanned for answers in Harry's face, and only noticed a slight shock in his eyes, but it was quickly covered up with that casual ease that always seemed to be hanging over him.
"I— I'm gonna get inside. Thank you for the ride, and the class."
Harry just gave her a small nod. "Anytime."
With that, Y/N turned around and hurried to her apartment complex, shivering by the time she got inside her own place. Her mind was racing, everything that had happened tonight kept flashing through her brain and it was like she could feel the burn of his fingers on her hips.
This was so unlike her. Unlike anything she'd ever done. Taking this class was a risk, one she'd thought being worth it, because it would bring her safety and security.
But this... these tingling feelings crashing into her like an avalanche— she hadn't felt like this since college. Hadn't had a crush become so intense in such a short time.
What the hell was she gonna do about this?
All she knew is that she couldn't stop thinking about him. Not as she got in the shower, nor as she got into bed. She kept tossing and turning until she gave into that feeling that had been nagging at her all night, her hand slowly sliding down her belly and to the sensitive ache that had been growing between her legs.
She closed her eyes and didn't even have to try to imagine Harry's hands on her again, the way he'd said those words to her. As if he wanted her to misinterpret them for something dirty.
"Can I touch you?"
"Do it again, slowly."
"That's it."
The sound of his voice ringing through her head had Y/N rubbing her fingers faster over her clit, her legs starting to close from the immense stimulation. Nevertheless, she forced herself to keep them open as she pleasured herself. Small gasps for air began leaving her body as she felt her climax coming closer and closer.
"Sure, angel."
The teasing tone in which he spoke, the playfulness in his eyes and the accent with which he said the nickname, that memory is what made her make a mess all over her fingers. A small moan even left her mouth in the sound of his name, and although no one was there to hear it, Y/N was embarrassed as she went to the bathroom, cleaned herself up, and went back to bed.
She did fall asleep quite quickly after, though. She was exhausted.
The next morning, there was a slight flutter in her stomach and a smile on her face as she opened her eyes. A new reason to get up in the morning had been making its way into her life, and she couldn't feel anything but giddy about it. Having a crush was always fun.
Despite the replaying of yesterday's practice over breakfast, and the heating of her cheeks at the memories of his words in the car on her way to work, Y/N knew that she was playing with fire by letting herself indulge in this crush. She needed to be careful not to let it go too far. A simple crush wasn't a problem, but he was her instructor and if she truly wanted to learn something in those self defense classes, she better separate business and pleasure.
With the loads of work she had to do at work, Y/N managed to drown out most of the thoughts about Harry the rest of the morning. She was finally relaxing after getting some important papers sent over—which was a stressful problem, as they had to be sent yesterday but some incompetent idiot messed up, leaving Y/N to solve it by herself first thing in the morning—when she got an e-mail from Sophie.
You are invited to
SOPHIE'S 30th BIRTHDAY PARTY
SATURDAY 5 OCTOBER
8:00pm (don't be late!)
Theme: Casino Night
Y/N stared at the invitation on her computer screen, a wide smile covering most of her face. She knew she didn't have any plans, but she still checked her agenda to make sure she was available Saturday next week. She felt like a child who'd just gotten her first ever birthday invitation. It sure felt like that.
Y/N hadn't really had such sweet friends before. Getting along with Sophie had been so incredibly easy and although she always felt like it was too good to be true and there must be some sort of trap, there never was. Sophie just enjoyed Y/N's company, and vice versa. It was like having a big sister and a best friend in one.
About five seconds after silently celebrating having received the invitation, Y/N began to stress about what present she should bring her new friend. It had to be something good. Sophie had earned a lot of money, and could basically get herself anything she wanted, so it had to be more of a sentimental gift.
Y/N had her eyes on a present already. She was very enthusiastic about it; it was something Sophie would really like.
All caught up in the excitement, she didn't notice a tall shadow standing over her until he coughed to get her attention. Y/N looked up, dread filling her stomach as she locked eyes with Oscar. She was still trying to remember how to breathe since her body just shut down out of anxiousness at the sight of him, when he started talking.
"Look, I'll keep this short, because I know you don't want to talk to me," He looked to his left and right before grabbing onto the desk and leaning over it. "but I just want to make sure we're on the same page."
Y/N could do nothing but blink at the man in front of her. What was he talking about, 'same page'?
"Things didn't really go how I thought they would that night, and I've accepted that. But I would appreciate if you wouldn't go around telling people."
"Telling people what?" The words left her mouth before she could stop herself. Originally she didn't want to utter a word in front of this man, nor did she believe she was able to, but this demand of his made her stomach twist. The way he said it, the distaste so apparent on his tongue. As if she were an inconvenience to be dealt with. He'd really mastered that heartlessness that only the cruelest of lawyers could conjure.
"You know what..." He said through clenched teeth, giving her a bit of a warning glare. The anger that boiled within her was new. She had never experienced it in such a large quantity before, and it had her acting out of character.
"What? About you assaulting me?"
The sentence had barely escaped her mouth when Oscar leaped forward a bit, frown so deep that it had made the vein in his forehead extremely prominent. She flinched at the sudden movement, tilting back into her chair. She felt the sped up pace of heartbeat as she clenched her fists, the rest of her body frozen in anticipation of what he was going to do.
"I did not assault—" he stopped himself, his crazy eyes calming a bit, as if he realized he was still in the office. "You know what, you can run to whoever you want. This firm trusts me, and they know what kind of man I am, that I would never do such a thing. Either way, it’s most likely not my job you'll be risking by bringing forth such an accusation."
Y/N had no idea what to possibly say to that. Not that Oscar gave her the chance, seeing as he backed away and walked off before she had the chance to come up with something. She began breathing more heavily with every step he took away from her.
Did he just threaten her?
A tingling pain in her hand distracted Y/N from the rabbit hole of thoughts she was just about to fall into, and when her eyes moved to see what it was, she raised her brows at the sight of blood in her hand.
Unconsciously, somewhere in between looking at the invitation and Oscar's impromptu visit, she must've grabbed the pair of scissors that were laying on the desk. She must've balled up her fists so much that she cut her hand.
Staring at the blood, a thousand thoughts running through her head, only one was the loudest.
She needed to get out of here.

Finding a reason to go up to homicide was easy I had an email come in from the sergeant but I also couldn’t be bothered to deliver the brand new computers to homicide yesterday like I was supposed to. I carried the box out of the tiny office, normally I would’ve struggled to carry something this heavy but hauling around dead bodies was unsurprising a great work out. I used my elbow to press the button for the elevator and waited for it to come down, I heard someone come up behind me and turned to see my mystery man. Boy does he have great timing, I glanced down at his ID and under his photo was his name, Dexter Morgan. Got you, I gave him a polite smile turning around as I heard the familiar ding of the elevator and stepped inside. He stepped inside as well tucking his hands into his pockets, it felt odd being so close to someone and knowing except who they are without them knowing a thing.
His expression was calm but I could tell from the slight fidgeting he wasn’t as calm as he let on. Like freak out by last nights encounter, I mean I would be too. If someone caught me just as I was killing someone and there was a high chance they saw my face, I would be shitting my pants and looking over my shoulder for days. Though I have no plans of exposing his secret because that would mean bringing into the question why I was at the car dealership, why I hadn’t reported it then, or of I didn’t mention that part what was I doing at Ann Cohen’s house that late at night anyways. No excuse I could come up would lose their suspicion so it just seemed far better to not involve myself in it at all, if anything it would be easier to just deal with this Dexter person on my own.
The elevator dinged again as we arrived on the next floor, and we both stepped out with our left foot as if we were synchronized together. Our eyes met again and we awkwardly walked out one after another, I let him step ahead of me and watched as he disappeared into the tiny room in the back of the department whilst I began distributing the laptops to each officer and collecting their old ones. I hadn’t been asked to do that but I figured if I didn’t do it now I would likely be sent to do it anyway, and I didn’t have a reason to come up here twice in a day so it’s not like I needed it as an excuse. Doing it now simply saved me from unnecessary work later on, as I got to the last laptop I found myself at Sergeant Doakes desk. My final task in the homicide department for today, hopefully at least.
“Good morning Sergeant, I got your email what can I do for you?” I said as I handed him the new laptop.
“Morning, I heard you were the person to ask about getting into some encrypted files?”
“I am indeed, you can just give me the device and I’ll get tight to it. Is there a deadline or can I do this at my own pace?”
“No deadline as I’m not sure if they will be anything helpful on there, but please make it a priority.” He pulled a silver Dell mini 9, I set it on top of the others in the box making a mental note to look at it later.
“Alright I’ll get it back to you as soon as I can then, if that’s all I should probably go deal with these.” I said raising the box slightly bringing attention to it.
“Thank you, please get back to me as soon as you can.”
With all my task completed I adjust grip on the box and took one last look around the department before turning to leave, my eyes drifted Dexter’s little hiding spot. I was surprised to see him already looking at me, his eye remained trained on me even as I turned away and walked out the department. A odd chill went down my spine as I recalled the look in his eyes it was empty and unreadable, I had definitely crossed a line today. There was no need to make him suspicious of me just yet, I still had plenty left to learn about him. I stepped inside the elevator and rode it back down to my floor and walked back to my office, and quickly started on my next task.
I decided to ignored the laptop for now and followed through with other requests in the building first, I felt it was better to run around now instead of constantly going back and forth. That way I could work on the things I needed to in the office uninterrupted, so I set off to step up a new computer for the deputy chief, helped track down a suspect using their phone for narcotics, and updating the missing persons website to showcase the recent disappearances. I spent the first half of my day running around and was happy to sit and work in my office until 4pm came around, I sat back in my chair and just took a few moments to breathe. I hadn’t made any significant progress with the laptop and honestly it was starting to frustrate me, I didn’t expect this to be easy but whoever encrypted these files sure as hell knew what they were doing. So instead of frustrating myself further I I decided to find out just who Dexter Morgan was, looking him up in the system I saw he had no priors in the system and seemed to be a relatively stand up citizen, too good of one to be honest. I knew it was a facade, considering I heard him say so, you can’t be a serial killer and not have a facade. I found that you had a sister Debra Morgan, I recognized her name from the news about the ice truck killer, but most importantly I found your house.
At first I considered talking to his sister and befriending her but I needed to stay out of sight for now, it I raise your attention any more than I already have it would be long before I might end up on your table as well. Of course that doesn’t mean I wasn’t going to bother him from a distance, I needed some sort of distraction while I went through his place so I had a friend of mine give him a little surprise. I stepped through the open door of your apartment, I glanced around looking at the layout and simple decor.
“Dexter, you left the door open again honey. I thought we talked about that.” I said as I stepping further inside and found a repair man tiding his tools on the floor. “Oh hello, have you seen Dexter?”
“No, manager let me in. Someone reported a leak.” He said not even bothering to look up at me.
“Oh yeah, I told him to get things checked out I’m glad he followed through. Was everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s in order. You can rest assured there’s no leaks in your boyfriend’s apartment.” He finished packing and began to leave.
“That’s great to hear, you have a wonderful day sir.” He gave me an awkward smile and shook his head as he left.
I shit the door behind him and looked around, so this was Dexter’s apartment. I immediately put on gloves, after my research I realized he was In forensics so leaving behind my finger prints wasn’t ideal. I started by checking the books making sure there was nothing inside or under them, then I checked his desk. I rummaged through the drawers and found nothing but the usual clutter, I decided to check his computer since I was more likely to find something there. I debugged my way through the login screen and got into his computer, on the surface there was again nothing but I kept digging until found it. His search history which stupidly he never clears, I found that he had used a lot of police resources from the comfort of his home. Don’t you know that’s illegal Dexter? Thankfully some of the searches showed the names he looked up, I borrowed one of his pens and a sticky note then began writing down as many of the names I could and the days he searched them. If my theory was right these were likely murderers as well who will all turn up missing shortly after dexter searched them. Once I was done there I ventured into the rest of the house and found it all to be normal, minus the obnoxious chest in his closet which I thought was odd but I didn’t have my lock pick to get into it. There wasn’t much left for me to do so I figured I should probably leave incase Dexter also decides to visit home on his lunch break.
★ ✮ ★
Dexter had been on edge all morning, looking over his shoulder just waiting for the coworkers to swoop in and arrest him. As illogical as the thought was, there was no evidence for whoever saw him to back up their claims. Even if they searched his apartment they would find nothing, but an accusation like that doesn’t go away even if it’s proven false. People would still be suspicious and Dexter certainly didn’t need any more prying eyes when he already had Doakes tailing him everywhere he went. He barely managed to get him off his back last night by popping one of his tires, though hope Doakes truly bought his ‘addiction’ and would leave him alone thinking he was in recovery. Still even though no one came knocking at his door during the night to arrest him, which truthfully only made him more anxious but he tried to rationalize it and soothe his anxiety. Maybe they didn’t see his face, they definitely didn’t know his name, maybe they hadn’t seen much of anything, maybe this maybe that. Nothing was certain and Dexter did not like that, he had been careful to live by Harry’s code and the number one rule was to not get caught yet here he was. With a heavy heart Dexter stepped into his tiny slice of the homicide department and was greeted by Masuka.
“Oh hey Dex, there’s something on your desk waiting for you. It looks like someone has a secret admirer.” He said with his signature laugh.
Dexter quirked a brow and saw it, a brightly colored cupcake with a pin stuck in it that said ‘eat me’. He furrowed his brows and ripped the cupcake in half with his thumbs and found a note inside, ‘Roger was a scumbag, wasn’t he? Your secret admirer’. Dexter felt his blood run cold as he fell back into his seat, whoever it was that saw him knew it was him. He didn’t like this not one bit, he needed to find out who sent this.
“Hey Masuka, any idea who sent me this?”
“I can’t tell you that, the point of a secret admirer is that its a secret.” Dexter frowned but didn’t push it, there were other ways to find out.
Dexter was wrong, terribly wrong, whoever this ‘secret admirer’ was had connections with people all throughout the building. He had been asking all around the station all day but everyone he asked was adamant on not exposing their identity, it was like some sick game and he was losing it. His nerves were eased because at least it seems like they aren’t going to expose him for his dark secret for now, but Dexter didn’t like the uncertainty of not knowing if they ever would. This isn’t what he should be worried about right now, he needed to get ahead of this bay harbor butcher thing before they tied it back to him. It was only a matter of time until Lundy would catch on, but he also needed to work things out with Rita and convince her he was committed to his ‘recovery’. There was a lot more on his plate than he was comfortable with, Dexter felt as if he was starting to drown, if things continued the way they were he was certain he would go insane.

Triple D.
Perlude
“We need assistance!”
Shouted the elite Navy SEAL into his earpiece. He was taking cover behind a low, nearly destroyed concrete wall to avoid the many bullets flying at him and his small task force. They’ve been in Aleppo, Syria for a little over two weeks and each day becomes increasingly violent. Senior Chief Petty Officer, John Stevens–Kelly, with his team of fellow SEALS are outnumbered by the Russian Military.
“Chief, this is base! We’re doing all we can to find you some backup! With the Marines and the Army being dispatched throughout Sudan and Iraq, we’re spread a bit thin! We will do our best to send assistance!”
Lieutenant Commander Karen Greer, is trapped in an abandoned building across from them and without proper backup, John Stevens–Kelly can’t get to her to see if she’s alive. Dust and debris crowded his vision and one by one he watched in horror as his men fell to their knees and died. It was supposed to be an easy escape and rescue of a CIA operative who was taken hostage by a suspected pro-Assad paramilitary group. It turned out to be the Russian Military.
“Damnit,” John fired rounds from his AK47 that was nearly out of bullets, “Guys, we’re on our own! Watch your six and try to keep out of the fire!”
A few SEALS tossed grenades to buy them some time as they moved toward the abandoned building. Structures were exploding and coming down on them and hostiles were coming in fast. If the base doesn’t send anyone, they are all dead. The mission was a disaster from the beginning. All they had to do was collect the hostage, get some intel, and get the hell out. A few days stretched into two weeks.
“Chief?! We’ve got you covered! They’re dropping in now!”
John hid himself behind a brick wall and spoke into his earpiece.
“Who’s dropping in?!” John replied firmly.
Dirt swirled like a small tornado when two helicopters swooped down and soldiers wearing all black slid down from a rope with guns blazing and ninja–like abilities. The Russians didn’t stand a chance. One-by-one they were taken out by the unknown soldiers. There was one soldier that stood out above the others and moved as if he were bulletproof.
John took that opportunity to run as fast as he could to the abandoned building to find Lieutenant Commander Karen Greer. He ditched the AK47 for a pistol and when he finally crossed over into the building, Russian troops jumped out of their hiding place and John took them out immediately. He could see the soldiers dressed in black enter and spread out in search. One soldier, however, took his place in front of John. He removed his all black balaclava and helmet, revealing himself to John.
“Killmonger.” John says, a slow laugh echoing from his mouth, “Nigga, where have you been?! You show up now?!”
Erik Stevens, a former United States Navy SEAL who was eventually assigned to a Ghost Unit for the Military, stood before his twin brother after two months of no contact.
“You know we work off the grid, bro. Deeper shit than rescuing some crooked ass CIA officials. Glad to see you’re still breathing.”
“Glad to see you’re not dead in a fuckin’ ditch somewhere, E. What the hell have you been up to?”
“The less you know, the better,” Erik handed John a gun, “Let’s make this shit speedy before more Spetsnaz show up.”
The twins together were the strongest. John missed the days when he worked alongside his brother, but Erik grew tired of the straight arrow. He wanted to get his hands dirty in ways John couldn’t agree with. Erik becoming a mercenary formed a wedge between them for a while, especially because John didn’t enjoy killing for sport like his twin. Erik was ruthless and cynical, whereas John only showed that side of him in the line of duty. There were plenty of times where John and Erik bumped heads.
The brothers made their way deeper into the abandoned building and finally discovered Lieutenant Commander Karen Greer and the CIA Operative hiding in a small room. The CIA Operative had a gunshot wound to his left thigh. Relief washed over Karen Greer’s face when she spotted John. She leaped up into his arms and hugged him tightly.
“Aight, save the reunion for later! We gotta go!” Erik shouted aggressively.
Erik carefully pulled the CIA Operative up and they quickly made their way towards the helicopter. Karen Greer bit her tongue while following them out of the room. She couldn’t stand Erik, and it was partly due to the fact that he was the reason things never worked out between John and her. She disliked the fact that John defended his hot-headed brother, even when he was wrong. She’d craved John’s love but deep down she knew it would never be the same.
Back outside, they succeeded with making it out alive and the helicopter took off. Karen Greer attended to The CIA Operative’s wound by creating a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. John made eye contact with his brother and he reached his hand out to clasp Erik’s firmly. Karen Greer watched the interaction with a neutral expression. It was silent the entire ride to base. Killmonger and his team remained on the helicopter while the few remaining SEALS, Karen Greer, and John Stevens–Kelly helped the CIA Operative to base.
__________
One Week Later:
Lagos, Nigeria was where John went to meet with his twin brother. It’s been a week since they’d seen each other and it would be good to catch up. John made his way into a striking waterfront home within a gated community wearing a v-neck, long-sleeve, khaki tunic with matching pants. He removed his shades and began pacing the grand entryway with curiosity.
John took a chance and stepped forward, eyes moving from left to right. Before him was a double, rounded staircase and to his left was a large study and to his right was a family room. John entered the family room and placed his duffel bag on the floor next to an end table with a large African head statue crafted from a tree trunk.
“Pay him handsomely. He deserves it…”
John spotted a portly, Nigerian man with a big grin wearing a traditional Nigerian caftan in all white with colorful embroidery and matching white pants. Killmonger stood before him at a towering height of 6’4 wearing a fitted black T-shirt with dark camouflage pants and black boots. He shook the man’s hand firmly with a slight smirk before turning his dark gaze onto a butler that held out a recondite sepia leather duffle bag for him to take.
“We will do business again, Killmonger. In the meantime, Make you enjoy your stay in Lagos…”
John watched the man and his servant leave the magnificent home. Killmonger’s heavy hand clasped John’s shoulder and he turned towards his identical twin abruptly.
“Didn't think you’d actually show up, bruh. Good to see you J.”
They hugged each other tightly before letting go.
“Whose house are we in?” John questioned.
“Don’t worry about all that. Just know it’s ours for a few days. You hungry? Want something to eat? Drink?”
John didn’t automatically respond to Erik. He was being hyper vigilant. His eyes scanned every nook and cranny of that enormous estate.
“My bag—”
“John. Relax. It’s just me and you here. No more unorganized missions and Karen’s mess. You get to put all that shit behind you and unwind. When was the last time you had that, bro? And please don’t tell me that old story about us drag racing on the Los Angeles River. That shit happened when we were eighteen.”
Erik thrust a glass filled with amber liquid into John’s hand. John was the definition of the ‘perfect soldier’. Loyal, noble, and dependable on top of being a tactician and strategist. When he’s in the war zone, he’s ruthless. That part of his life has always been hard to relax from. Even when it comes down to relationships. He’d always been afraid to grow with a woman because of what he does for a living. Too many times he’s witnessed fellow SEALS slaughtered in their own homes.
Unbeknownst to his crazy brother, John would love to have a companion. Someone he could come to whenever he made it home safely. Whether it be a serious commitment or strictly physical. He could never have that with Karen no matter how hard he tried. He craved pillow talks, massages, the smell of a woman’s perfume. So many things. Erik was right, he needed to decompress. John drank the entire contents of the glass, realizing it to be whiskey.
“Fuck it. You’re right. What’s the move?”
Erik rubbed his hands together like the mastermind he is.
“Aight, figured we could get some food, meet up with some ladies, and hit the town. I know some good spots here in Lagos. Tomorrow we can take a yacht out and smoke some cigars. Just live it up, you know?”
John smirked, “Sounds all good to me. What ladies? Hopefully nobody you touched. We all know what happened back in college. Sydney…”
“Ahhhh…Sydney. She was…” Erik kissed his fingers, “Scrumptious. You ain’t have no problems with me hittin’ that!”
They walked out towards the back of the home and took a seat near the inground pool. Erik took a small sip from his glass before sitting it on the ground beside him to remove his boots. John lounged back and placed his shades over his eyes.
“So, now you’re silent?” Erik teased.
“I’m silent because you love to leave out certain details. I was falling DEEP for that girl. Her excuse was she couldn’t tell us apart.”
“Both of us had the same cut, J! Like I told you before, I didn’t know. Anyway, she’s married with a son or some shit… good for her.”
John chuckled, “It’s been too long for me. So long that I’ve become picky. I don’t want just any woman.”
Nigga,” Erik scuffs, “You serious? It’s been three months for me. I miss the sex. I miss giving and receiving. Shit…I got a job in a week and this job gotta be one of the worst and I mean my whole fuckin’ chest will be covered in scars by the time I come back home to the Bay—you think I’m fuckin’ lying? I need this. I wanna be pissy drunk in a bed full of women before I touch down in Vietnam.”
John took his shades off to look at Erik.
“You scarring again? Thought you said that shit was over?”
“I guess old habits don’t die hard,” Erik shrugged, “I enjoy it.
John squinted, “You enjoy having that reminder on your body? You’re fucking crazy…”
“Says the nigga that ain’t never giving this life up. You live for this shit too, J. Don’t act like me and you are any different. Just because I do shit dirty doesn't mean you ain’t getting a thrill out of it. See, ever since you became best buddies with Sam Wilson you've been acting brand new.”
“Your thrill and my thrill are not the same, E. And what’s wrong with Sam? He’s cool peoples. Don’t get me wrong. I love what I do. But…it’s a job for me. For you, it’s a game. You have this killer instinct. Example,” John sat up, “You remember what happened in Iraq? What you did to that family? Torturing? That shit was…that was brutal.”
“Yeah…I remember. I also remember very clearly that they were the enemy. I also remember losing friends to those enemies. When I get behind that heat,” Erik made a gesture with his fingers to mimic a gun, “I don’t care who I’m aiming at. If it’s meant for you, it’s meant for you.”
“…Wild,” John stood up and stretched, “I’m getting some more to drink…”
“Fill me up!” Erik held his glass out, “And bring the whole bottle. We gotta get ready in another hour to head out.”
“Damn, I just got here,” John shakes his head.
“The pussy don’t wait for no one!” Erik shouted after his brother.
_____________
“This is…?”
“I’m Malaika.”
“Oh yeah! Malaika. Good to see you again, sweetheart.”
Erik nudged John while they were seated in Silverfox; a luxury strip club on Victoria Island in Lagos. John perked up and gave his twin brother a sideways glance before reaching out his hand to greet Malaika. Her soft, graceful hand within his calloused one felt warm and friendly. John took the time to admire Malaika. She has some outstanding characteristics that make her irresistible. Among them all, her rich, dark skin with big, dark brown eyes stood out to him the most. Skin so lovely and smooth. She had a curvy figure with a tall stature that made him wonder if she were a model. She wore her hair in straight-back stitch braids that hung down to her butt and a form-fitting, cyan-blue dress with silver stiletto sandals.
“How you doin’ I’m John.”
“Hi, John,” Malaika’s eyes scanned his body, “First time in Lagos?”
“It is, yeah.” John responded.
Malaika took a seat next to John with her drink in hand trying to spark conversation. Her best friend, Zola, sat with Erik on the opposite end of the sofa on his lap. Malaika was used to seeing her best friend being all over Erik. She was his ‘girl’ whenever he touched down in Lagos. Zola’s coarse, voluminous Afro shielded Erik’s face while she leaned in to give him a kiss on his plump lips. Erik had a handful of her bubble booty that stood out in her denim shorts. When she faced forward again, she caught eyes with John and waved. Zola was just as gorgeous with her toasty-brown skin and mahogany eyes. Her sheer-black halter top gave a brazen view of her pierced nipples.
“How do you like it so far?” Malaika asked.
“It’s a vibe. Definitely into it.”
John reached for his drink and Malaika’s eyes tracked it.
“What’s in your cup?”
“STARR Rum. I’m a rum kind of guy. You?”
Malaika twirled the last remnants of her drink around, “It’s some Patron mix the bartender did for me. I don’t really like it.”
She pouted her lip before sitting her cup down on the low table in front of them.
“We still got rum left in the bottle. I can pour you some…”
John uncapped the bottle and proceeded to fill Malaika’s cup. Meanwhile, Zola and Erik are watching the various women twirl and do tricks on the pole. They had already thrown cash and some of it littered the floor of their section.
“What do you do if you don’t mind me asking?”
John angled his body to face Malaika while relaxing back against the lounge sofa.
“I’m a Navy SEAL.”
“Hmm,” Malaika roamed John’s body with her sultry eyes, “Is it dangerous?”
John chuckles. In his mind, he was saying what he really thought but he’d just met Malaika so he didn’t want to give off bad vibes. Of course being a SEAL is dangerous.
“It’s considered one of the most dangerous military occupations. Combat operations…hazardous training…specialized missions…it’s risky. You gotta be prepared for that.”
“Wow. I bet you’ve seen a lot.”
John nodded his head, “I have. More than I’d like to discuss,” John cleared his throat, “Tell me a little bit about Malaika.”
Malaika tucked her chin bashfully, “I’m in medical school currently. Not much of a social life at the moment but it’s worth it.”
John’s unruly brows shot up with interest, “that’s dope. Educated and gorgeous…I like that.”
Zola sipped her drink while watching John and Malaika get to know each other. She held a tiny smirk on her face. Erik was too busy making his dick jump against her ass. Zola looked down at him over her shoulder as best as she could with all the hair she had.
“You need to cut it out, Killmonger. Calm that big dick down…”
“I’ll calm it down when you get that phat ass up off my lap, girl.” Erik retorted.
“So it’s my fault? Teh,” Zola rolled her eyes, “Not my fault you can’t control yourself.”
“Here we go,” Erik threw his head back and laughed, “Zola…stop acting tough. Because we both know that I’ll put your ass through the mattress and have you screaming big daddy at the top of your lungs. Stop it.”
“Who did you fuck in Cuba?”
Erik’s eyes went round at her outlandish question.
“Zo, are you serious?”
“Yes, I am. I want to know.”
“I thought you ain’t care who I fuck when I’m away?”
“I haven’t seen you in months and you’ve been giving this big dick to some other bitch and I wanna know…”
A chuckle could be heard from across the table and Erik peeked over to see John and Malaika tittering into their cups.
“Help me out, bro,” Erik gave John a pleading look.
“I wish I could, E. I haven’t seen you in months either.” John bantered.
Erik put his middle finger up at his twin. John simply laughed. He knew his brother all too well. He was definitely fucking some women in Cuba. He’d caught his brother in many nefarious situations with women. Some of which almost got them killed. Erik’s sex drive had to be sated even through war. John had control for some time because he’d been in a long-term relationship with a high school sweetheart at one point before dating Karen on and off for three years.
“Forget all that. I’m here right now with you. Let’s make the most of this shit before I’m gone again.” Erik said with finality.
Zola simply rolled her eyes in response. Erik’s hands caressing her frame as he stared her down with an unwavering gaze while whispering to her seemed to melt her jealous core. She couldn’t fight the urge to blush when Erik’s hand palmed her ass and gripped it tight and possessively.
“You two are so different,” Malaika whispered to John, “you’re very laid back and he’s very outspoken.”
“Believe it or not, we play off of each other well,” John replied, “My silence is just me being observant for the most part.”
“You seem shy.”
John licked his lips and cracked a dimpled smile, “I’m not. I promise you.”
Malaika giggles.
“You definitely are though,” John elevated a single brow and squinted at her, “You’ve been avoiding eye contact with me.”
Malaika opened her mouth to speak but she quickly realized he was correct.
“It’s not that I’m shy…you’re just fine as hell.”
She turned and crossed one leg over the other, causing her hip to poke out. John fixated his lustful gaze on her generous curves. The colorful luminance bouncing around the club against her dark skin had him salivating for a taste. It’s been too long since he’d had some good pussy. And Malaika could be just the girl to soak his dick.
“Thank you, gorgeous,” John scooted closer to her, “But don’t let that intimidate you. I love eye contact. And the way you walked in here tonight showed me you have a lot of confidence,” John took a chance and placed his hand over her knee and started stroking it with his thumb, “That’s a huge turn on for me.”
“Mm, oh yeah? What else turns you on?”
Malaika traced John’s thin, gold chain with her gemstone-covered acrylic nail.
“A woman that knows what she wants…isn’t afraid to express it and show it…release her inhibitions.”
“Mmm…”
John’s words had Malaika yoked up by the pussy. Her breathing changed, her eyes went low, her nipples hardened, and she couldn’t keep her hands off of John. She ran her hand down his chest and down his thigh. John’s dick bricked-up so fast he didn’t see it coming. She was stroking his thigh while his dick expanded in his pants.
“Ayo, J!”
John looked up to see a woman so fine he almost groaned. A pole dancer with fat titties, thunder thighs, and a top-shelf ass started showing out in the section. The red-hot one-piece with a large keyhole cutout that left little to the imagination and a pair of stunning stockings attached to the bodice barely covered her body. John had never seen so much ass in his life.
“Throw that shit, baby!” Zola shouted while throwing hundreds.
Erik stood up and started making it rain over her. John grabbed a stack and flicked it towards her direction. She kept popping that ass like she didn’t own a vertebrae. Malaika clapped her hands in time to the bounce of the dancer’s cheeks.
“Damn, ma! Show out!” Erik yelled. L
“Aye!” Malaika said loudly.
“That ass is crazy,” John shook his head.
When she finished dancing, she collected her money and walked off as if she didn’t just render everyone speechless.

They were lucky to make it back safely to the mansion in one piece with the way Erik was driving his yellow Lotus Emira V6. The ladies took off their five-inch heels at the door and John had to bend down and help Malaika because she couldn’t keep her balance from all the rum she drank. Erik took off his embroidered crochet shirt that matched his shorts and threw it over the banister. His locs fell into his eyes at that point from the wind when he was driving.
“Are we still getting in the jacuzzi?” Zola asked.
“Hell yeah. You got an extra bikini for Malaika?”
“I do. Let me go get it,” Zola climbed the stairs while gripping the banister.
Erik followed her and he caught up with her to slap her on the ass.
“You okay?” John had a tight hold on Malaika’s waist so she wouldn’t fall.
Malaika drunkenly giggled, “I’m good. Let's change.”
John grasped Malaika’s hand and they climbed one side of the staircase. When they got to the second landing, John led Malaika down the hall to the room he’s in during his stay. John pushed open the double doors to a large room with a balcony that oversees the yard and beyond. John grabbed his bag to find his swim shorts while Malaika started taking off her dress. John paused to watch her. She was standing before him in a strapless, nude bra and matching thong. Malaika caught him staring and gave him a seductive smirk.
“This will be all yours tonight,” She crawled over to him on the bed like a feline, “All yours…”
John’s eyes followed her movements until she reached her destination and pressed her sweet lips against his. The kiss felt damn good. John could kiss for long periods. He looked from her lips to her eyes and then he closed the space between them and his lips were on hers again. Malaika sat up on her knees and started unbuttoning John’s boxy-fit, black top. She smoothed the fabric from his shoulders and broke the kiss to see his body.
“Fuck, you’re body is…mmm…Abeg, come fuck my pussy…”
Malaika’s hand found its way between John’s legs and she squeezed his stiff dick. John grunted against her lips.
“You’re so sexy, John…”
She was hungry for attention. Malaika started fumbling with his black pants to free his third leg. John paused her horny pursuit with a gentle grasp of her wrist.
“Protection.”
Malaika gave John a slight pout. John slipped away to his bag and opened a small pocket to grab a SKYN elite large condom. He made his way back over to her and Malaika proceeded to take off her bra. John stopped her again and then he tilted her chin up to make her stare directly in his eyes.
“Let me,” John reached around her and unhooked her bra.
His eyes admired the slope of her well-endowed breasts with large, brown areolas and small nipples. John didn’t waste time crouching down to suck on each erect nipple just so he could taste her luscious, dark skin. Malaika thrust her chest out and tried her best to watch John but the way he looked her in the eyes was too much for her to handle.
“Fuck, John…just like that…” Malaika moaned.
She tasted just as good as she looked. John was drooling. The door to the room opened and in walked Zola wearing a sage green bikini with her hair styled in a bun to avoid getting wet. John popped Malaika’s left titty out his mouth and sat up quickly. Zola and her bouncy, glistening cleavage crawled onto the bed and she held out a royal blue bikini for Malaika to wear.
“Here, bitch! Hurry up!”
Malaika sat up and Zola took it upon herself to remove Malaika’s thong. John’s eyes stared between Malaika’s thighs at her semi-hairy pussy. Erik approached the door with a bottle of amber liquor in his hand, drinking straight from the rim. He had on a pair of black and white striped swim shorts. Malaika slipped on her bikini bottoms while Zola helped with her bikini top. John’s dick wouldn’t go soft and he really wanted to continue where they left off but Zola was dragging Malaika out of the room.
“You still ain’t ready, nigga?! Did we fuck up a moment?”
“Whatchu think?” John replied sarcastically.
He snatched up his red swim shorts.
“Can I get some privacy?”
Erik walked away and took his laughter with him.
After John got dressed, he made his way out to the jacuzzi. When he got there, Erik was seated on the edge of the jacuzzi with his feet in the water that bubbled up like a witches brew. Zola and Malaika were splashing each other and shrieking. John lowered himself into the jacuzzi and wrapped his arms around Malaika’s waist, pulling her towards him. He started peppering kisses down her slender neck. Zola placed herself between Erik’s legs and he fed her some liquor straight from the bottle. Some of it dribbled down her chin. Erik sank into the water and wrapped his hand around her bun, extending her neck so he could like and suck on her neck.
Malaika’s eyes couldn’t stray away from Erik’s broad, muscular back littered with tiny, raised scars. John noticed that she was staring and Malaika tried to play it off by kissing his cheek. John wasn’t surprised, Erik’s scars drew a lot of attention. And it made you question what type of person would do something like that over and over.
“I noticed you don’t have any scars…”
“…I have a few. We started them together. I just didn’t have the desire to continue…”
Malaika turned to face him, “Can I see them?”
John took Malaika’s right hand and brought it to his right side. Her fingertips grazed three small raised bumps.
“What made you stop?” Malaika stared up at John with curiosity.
John removed her hand and leaned in to give her tongue. That seemed to distract her. John wanted to focus on the sex and the good times. As beautiful as Malaika is, he knew what it would be between them. She didn’t need to know about that.
“You kiss like…I no get! I no get…”
Zola had her legs wrapped around Erik’s waist as she watched John and Malaika kiss over his shoulder.
“How come you never brought John around before?”
Erik pulled back to look at her. He scrunched his face at her question.
“Wetin? I mean…you’re identical twins. I’ve never seen twins so separated…”
Erik cocked his head to the side, “John has his own thing and so do I. That doesn’t mean we’re not close.”
“But—”
“Zo, you know you’re ruining the mood right? Look,” Erik points to John and Malaika, “Instead of you worrying about me and my brother's bond, you could be worrying about this big dick you missed so much.”
Erik lets Zola down and he climbs out of the Jacuzzi. He motions for her to come to him and he lifts her out of the water. Erik picks her up bridal style and Zola squeals. Malaika and John were too busy swapping spit to care.
____________________________
Zola missed his big dick alright.
That slight curvature to the left with the perfect amount of width-to-length ratio that would have you in the falsetto was back in Lagos after five long months. Despite Zola wanting to keep Erik all for herself, he’s a side dude. Zola is married and from what Erik knows, unhappy. They don’t talk about her marriage whenever they link. That’s Zola’s rule.
Her husband couldn’t fuck like Erik could. Despite her famine, Zola enjoyed the feeling of his fat dick sinking into her creamy center like it was the first time. Zola arched her back and took that long dick like a champ on the edge of the bed. Her wild, kinky fro shielded her face and she gripped on the bed as best as she could.
“I thought you said you liked big toys, Zo?!”
He pounded her pussy at different angles and different strokes to make her feel it. Zola had chills all over her body. His 6’4, 225 lb frame towering over her from behind could be seen in the reflection on the ceiling mirror. She looked back at him with tears in her eyes and nothing but cries escaping her mouth.
“Comot from dia…oooh…I can’t take it…Abeg, big daddy!”
Erik’s response to that was more strokes. His balls slapped her clit and her body convulsed. He popped her on the ass and that triggered her to cum hard on his condom-covered dick.
“Come up off this pussy, bitch? Huh? I thought I told you to take this fuckin’ dick? Huh?”
“Na so,” Zola replied weakly.
“Don’t play with me, Zo. I know how to get you…”
Erik slipped out and Zola released a heavy squirt. His dick and that curve was pressed against her spot on purpose to make her do that. Erik used his thumb to rub on her clit from the back causing more to release. She was a quivering mess in a puddle of her own release. Erik positioned Zola on her back and locked her legs with her knees pinned by her ears. Erik’s dick sank back inside of her and she almost lost it again.
“Fuck! Oh fuck…”
Zola gasped. Erik fucked her with a roll of his hips. He watched her face contorted in many different ways while grunting and biting his lip.
“Pussy creamy, you hear all that? Damn, girl…”
“Oh!”
“You lookin’ at this? Hm?”
Zola’s eyes looked down and all she could see was his big dick going in and out of her. He hit her spot so good she couldn’t keep still.
“Zola, how deep this pussy go? Deep enough for daddy?”
She could only nod and tremble. That bottom lip would not stop quivering. Staring up into his onyx eyes that were shielded by his locs, Zola watched as he cracked a smile.
“Right there…oh my god I’m cumming—”
Erik slowly pulled out and his dick sat on top of her waxed pussy lips as he released into the condom.
“Fuuuck. That pussy good, Zo. So good, baby…”
Erik coaxed Zola into a tongue kiss. She gripped his chin and he rubbed her pussy.
“You wish you could have me every night?”
Zola’s eyes welled up with tears. They weren’t sad tears. The definition of dickmatized was Zola. She knew that as soon as Erik left, it would be a long while before he returned.
“I’m on top now,” Zola sat up, “I want to feel that dick from another angle, daddy…”
Erik removed the old condom and grabbed a new one.
“You can ride it all you want, girl.”
Erik could recall sleepless nights filled with multiple sessions with Zola. Erik had hoes in different area codes but one thing about Zola, she could take dick well. And she was his best eater thus far. Zola climbed on top of Erik and got up on her feet to bounce. She lined his dick up with her opening and lowered herself. Zola gripped Erik’s shoulders and started bouncing.
“Unh! I love the way it feels going up inside of me!”
“I know, you got my nuts hurting, fuck!”
That ass collided with his balls each time she came down.
“DAT’S IT…fuck this dick…ride this shit so good…just like that…Suck the nut out this dick with them pussy lips…pussy hella tight…take this nut like you tryna get a baby…”
Zola moaned loudly and she fell to her knees on top of Erik. Her walls gripped his dick with tight pulses. Erik’s hips jerked and he groaned while painting the inside of the condom milky-white.
_____________________
While Zola and Erik were busy, John and Malaika made their way back to the room. Their wet swimwear resided on the bathroom floor and Malaika was on her back in a flash. John was leaning over her body, kissing down her neck. His dick throbbed against her inner thigh the more his lips moved closer to her breasts. Malaika was trying to steal peeks at his dick. It felt heavy against her thigh, but did it match the sensation? She could only hope so.
Malaika and her hairy pussy were begging for attention. She cradled the back of his head while his lips went from nipple-to-nipple. John’s lips tugging on her nipples made her clit pulsate. This man was teasing her and she couldn’t take it. Malaika pushed him so that he would sit up. John lifted to his knees and Malaika anxiously lifted to admire his dick.
She blinked slowly at what would be the prettiest dick she’d ever seen. It had a slight curve to it, which was new for her because she’d never taken dick like that. From first glance, she flinched because of how intimidating his dick looked. Prominent veins, wide tip, girthy, and at least 8 ½ inches. John startled her by caressing her bottom lip with his thumb. Malaika’s eyes met his. He had this hungry look in his eyes. She liked that a lot. Very primal.
“You want it? Come get it…”
Malaika found herself on her knees. John stood up and Malaika wrapped a hand around his shaft. She bounced it in her palm and realized how heavy it was. Her stomach clenched. She was going to fuck all this dick?
“Malaika.”
She opened up and wrapped her lips around him and started sucking. A longing sigh escaped his mouth. It was as if he’d forgotten how good it felt to have his dick sucked.
“Mhm…mhm…good girl…”
He gently strokes her chin with his thumb. Malaika sucked as much as she could.
“Damn…I needed this…”
John shut his eyes and drew his bottom lip into his mouth. Malaika’s loud slurping filled the expansive room.
“You like that shit?”
Malaika bobbed her head. He even tasted good. She slurped and John had a tight grip on her shoulders and he started bucking his hips. Malaika did her best to relax her throat. Spit trickled down the sides of her mouth continuously. John’s tongue swiped his bottom lip and his eyebrows knitted together. He was close. Malaika could tell because he was swelling in her mouth to the point that her jaws were sore.
“I’m finna nut…ughhhhh—”
Malaika’s pussy ached to be fucked when the first taste of cum from his beautiful balls hit her tongue. She had to moan herself. The more she jerked, cum painted her tongue. John watched with low eyes and parted lips. When she finished, John lifted her to her feet and instructed her to get on her back and spread her thighs. She grabbed him by the dick impatiently and John had to grab the condom to roll it on.
“Slow down, mamas…”
Malaika spread her pussy lips, “I should have shaved—”
She wasn’t prepared for that intrusion. Malaika cried out so loud her voice bounced off the walls. John didn’t care about some hair. He had some himself. He wanted—NEEDED to be inside of her. He had his hands on her hips while his big dick pumped her. With each thrust, Malaika would whimper. Silent but deadly. He could fuck some pussy up.
“John! Oh my god…”
He was swimming in her pussy. The wetness seemed to overflow the more he fucked her.
“Mhm…”
His chain in her face and the scent of sandalwood on his skin stimulated her senses. Malaika was going to cum hard. Whenever she looked up into his eyes, stroked the back of his head, and said his name, he would just stare back with this neutral expression. That was dangerous. It meant he KNEW his dick was lethal.
“Oooh, here it comes, YES—”
“Good girl…cum for me…”
Malaika spasmed beneath John. He kissed her temple and then he picked her up, walking Malaika over to the dresser. He sat her down on the dresser and without a word he hooked her left knee over his arm while using his right hand to line his dick up again and before she knew it he was back inside. Both of her knees over his arms, John thrust in and out of her. Malaika locked eyes with him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
“I gotchu baby…”
“Yeah?”
He was fucking her so good Malaika couldn’t believe it. Her rich, dark skin glistened with sweat and so did his russet skin. John watched as his dick went in and out with a bite of his lip. He lifted Malaika completely off of the dresser and bounced her on his dick.
“John! John! John!”
Her cries were beautiful. John felt that sensation.
“Shit, I’m cumin’—”
John gave Malaika two more thrusts before he erupted into the condom.
_____________________
Time was lost to them as they slept in a pool of their own secretions. The silence that surrounded them in the darkness of that room alerted John to a ruckus. His ears could pick up the faintest of noises. John slowly sat up in bed, rubbing his left eye with the back of his hand. He was still naked with no desire to get dressed in case Malaika wanted to go another round.
John glanced down at the sleeping beauty before looking towards the door. He gently pulled the sheets back and climbed out of bed to grab a pair of shorts and a white beater. When he finished getting dressed, out of habit John grabbed a black pistol with a long barrel and a slightly lighter trigger pull for ultimate precision. He approached the door and carefully twisted one of the handles to open it.
The hallway was pitch black. John entered the hall, eyes moving from left to right, making his way towards his brother's room. When he approached Erik’s door, John tried to push it open but he was met with the muzzle of a silver, chrome plated Glock. Erik was on the other end. His hard, menacing expression relaxed when he realized it was John.
“You heard something too.” Erik whispered.
“Yeah,” John motioned for Erik to follow him, “it came from this way…”
The twin brothers stealthily moved towards the top of the stairs. When they got there, John spotted what looked like a militant. He didn’t think twice before pulling the trigger. They fell to their knees and as soon as they did, more shots rang out causing John and Erik to take cover.
“What the fuck?!” Erik pressed his back against a wall.
He could hear footsteps drawing closer so Erik jumped out and fired his pistol, the bullets connecting with the intruders head. John covered his brother by aiming his shots over the banister. He hit one in the chest and the other in the leg. They rushed down the stairs two at a time and broke out into combat, disarming whoever came at them.
“Argh!”
John dragged one of them away while Erik had his knee in the back of the other's head with his gun pressed against their cheek.
“Who sent you?! SPEAK!” John barked out.
“Erik!”
Erik looked towards the top of the stairs to find Zola and Malaika captured by more militant men. They were both barely covered with a sheet to conceal their nudity.
“If you shoot, we will kill them…”
Erik scowled furiously at whoever it was making threats.
“You’ve been on our radar for a while, Killmonger…”
John looked from his brother to the men holding the women hostage.
“Bandits?” John questioned.
Erik clenched his jaw. He kept a low profile in Lagos. No one knew about his whereabouts except Adewele, who he did business with. Did he betray him?
“How did you find me?”
The bandit wearing Nigerian militia and a red scarf shielding half of his face pointed his gun at Zola. John closed his eyes for a second. Erik looked at Zola with venomous suspicion.
“She’s our eyes and ears, isn’t that right? My wife?”
“What?” John couldn’t believe it, “You’ve been fucking the wife of your enemy?!”
Erik lost it.
“Erik, please–I–I–”
John watched as Zola’s brains were blown. The apparent leader of the bandits didn’t expect that turn of events. Malaika wailed, trying to escape. John watched her struggle, his mind racing. He didn’t know whether to trust Malaika. Erik didn’t hesitate to kill Zola. Malaika was tossed ferociously to the side while guns blazed. Erik raced up the stairs to handle the leader himself while John fought his way up towards Malaika. He got to her in time and fought off a militant before tossing his lifeless body down the stairs.
“John,” Malaika stared at him with tear-stricken eyes, “I didn’t know…I swear.”
“Here,” He helped Malaika to her feet, “I want you to hide until we make sure it’s safe, okay? Go.”
John watched Malaika run into a nearby room and close the door behind her. John ran off in search of Erik. He could hear commotion and found Erik fighting the leader of the bandits. A knife fight. John barged over and was nearly knocked over when a militant tried to subdue him. Erik swung his blade expertly while covered in blood.
“When I get you, I’m cutting your fucking head off!!!!” The leader shouted.
John brought the militant to the floor and wrapped his hands around his neck. He watched the life leave his body. Erik took a slash to his chest before throwing his blade, precisely hitting the leader in the eye. He dropped like a sack of potatoes to his death. Erik rocked back on his heels and dropped the blade in his hand. John approached his brother to check on him. Erik looked up at John with a smirk before laughing. John wasn’t in the mood for laughter.
“…I’m gonna go check on Malaika—”
“Nah, she’s probably in on this shit just like Zola. I can’t believe that bitch betrayed me.”
“You can’t believe it? Are you fucking serious? You ain’t learned from last time?”
“Whatever,” Erik picked himself up and stormed over to the door, “I gotta make a call. We need to be outta here before they come knocking.”
John clenched his fists and instead of going after Erik he went in search of Malaika. John made his way to the room she hid herself in and when he got closer he realized the door had been opened. John kicked the door open and flicked on the light. It was empty. He made his way back to the room he was in and noticed it was empty too.
Malaika had fled. He didn’t have time to process his emotions in regards to Malaika’s true intentions. All he hoped was that the girl was safe.
“How soon can they get here to clean up? I gotta disappear before shit gets hot…I’m gon’ keep it real with you, Adewele, I don’t trust anybody right now. Not even you. I appreciate how you came through, but I’m cutting ties…just wire me my last payment and we’re good…”
John listened in on his brother’s phone call before revealing himself. Erik paused to look John square in the eyes.
“I called a friend, they’ll meet us outside of the city to fly out. I’m gonna be off the radar for a bit to clean up this mess…”
John shook his head, “Do what you gotta do, bro. Just keep me the fuck out of it. I don’t wanna know what you did to have these people on your back. I got my own shit.”
Erik chuckled dryly, “Yeah, I know. Fuck me and my shit. I get it…”
Erik started packing his things. John had another mission when he got back.
“Listen, E. You should cool off for a while. Lay low someplace safe and leave this shit alone—”
“Can’t. I got a big job in Vietnam. I’m looking at a million dollar paycheck, bruh. I’m not laying low and missing that opportunity. You wouldn’t know anything about that…”
He didn’t have the energy to argue with Erik. And arguing wouldn’t change his mind. John walked away to get his things together. While he cleaned up and got dressed to leave, whoever Erik’s business partner called showed up to clean up the house. John watched the large men toss the dead bodies onto a five ton M939. John followed Erik out of the mansion and towards an armored, all black, Military hummer. They tossed their bags onto the back and climbed into the front.
Erik and John drove for five hours until they arrived at a dirt strip in the middle of nowhere in rural Benin. It took a lot of effort to get there without running into trouble. There was a helicopter waiting to transport them to their jet. John hopped out of the vehicle and gathered their bags while Erik spoke with his friend.
“This is my twin brother, John. John, this is Turk. We used to work closely together doing odd jobs…”
He appeared to be an Ethiopian man wearing a turban head wrap and dingy clothes covered in ultisol.
“Nice to meet you, John. Are you two ready to fly out?”
John shook Turk’s hand, “Yeah, let’s bounce.”
Once their bags were secure on the helicopter, they strapped themselves in and Turk took off.
John took a sip of water out of a canister while Erik focused below to make sure they weren’t being followed.
“E…”
Erik cut his eyes at John.
“I think it’s time to be abstinent.”
Erik snorted, “I see you got jokes…”
“You didn’t know who Zola’s husband was?”
“…She told me her husband was a limp-dick Doctor. There were no signs pointing at the shit being suspicious.”
“Malaika left.” John said.
“Who gives a fuck? You should have killed her ass. What happened to all that without remorse type shit?”
John shrugged, “It doesn’t matter now. Let’s get out of here now before shit blows up. You're still coming home after your next job, right?”
“I ain’t got a choice. I don’t want G-ma lighting a fire under my ass about it.”
John chuckled tiredly, “You know she don’t play.”
“Oh, I know.”
“Aye,” John leaned forward on his knees and reached out his hand, “Make it home in one piece.”
Erik clasped his brother's hand and gave him a pointed look, “Always. They don’t call me Killmonger for nothing. We touchin’ down in The Bay the same day and gettin’ hyphy.”
___________________
Promises couldn’t be kept. John was back in California within two weeks, but Erik hadn’t shown up. He had another top secret job awaiting him and he communicated to John via email that he’d be home in a few days. John drove to his new apartment in his all-black, BMW M340 with the windows rolled down, his favorite shades on, and a smirk on his face. The first stop he wanted to make was to his favorite barber in Oakland. He needed a good fade with a crisp line-up.
After his appointment, John headed to his new apartment and walked into a halfway furnished living space. He sat down on his black leather home theater sectional and released a sigh of contempt. It felt good to be home. No more sleepless nights, death knocking at his door, and covert missions. He could shower, eat, sleep, beat his dick, and watch crap TV. He could play COD and do normal things like grocery shop and spend time with his family.
After a long shower, John moisturized and threw on a pair of shorts with a white tee. He slipped on a durag and decided to order in. He had a long talk on the phone with his grandmother and promised that he would be over on Sunday for dinner. John ordered himself a meat lover's pizza and some hot wings. He sat at his high top on a stool with his laptop opened to a dating site. After Malaika, John was fiendish for another woman to spend some time with.
He settled on Hinge. He wasn’t really feeling Bumble at the moment. He was looking for someone to hook up with to scratch that itch for pussy. Bumble had too many women looking for commitment and John wasn’t ready to be locked down quite yet. He hadn’t checked his profile in a while so he was curious to see how many matches he has.
“Dana…26…art major…”
John read her profile and he instantly lost interest. He continued.
“Kayla. You’re too young…”
He washed his food down with some wine.
Hi, handsome
You have a nice smile
Are you interested in hooking up?
He started to wonder if this was a good idea. He’d gone through thirty profiles and not one was enough to make him pursue. That was, until he came across a woman he’d matched with a few days ago. He had to get through almost fifty matches to find her.
Her name was Gia; a thirty-one-year old woman with undeniable beauty. She’s a Spelman graduate with a degree in Biology and Anthropology. John read her dating profile and found Gia to be captivating and he hadn’t even spoken to her.
She’s looking for a low commitment relationship with good vibes, food, and conversation. She makes it known that she’s career-driven and is looking for a man in uniform, specifically a soldier. That narrows down the dating pool. There are other traits about her that John loved and he didn’t waste time sending her a message.

Meow. (Yandere!Bully X GN!Reader.)
Lauren's Masterlist - General Masterlist
Synopsis: You have been isolated from normal interaction for far too long, so you turn to street cats, something your possessive bully does not appreciate.
Word Count: 2,629
Your bully wasn’t like anyone else you’d ever met. Lauren McCanister didn’t just ruin your life—she owned it. One moment, she was shoving you into lockers or making snide comments that left your confidence in shreds. The next, she was pinning you against the wall, kissing you breathless, or draping herself over you like some twisted parody of a lover. You hated her. Hated everything she stood for. But what could you do? She controlled every microscopic detail of your life, from your friendships to your family ties. No one was safe from her influence—not even your own sister.
When Lauren went after your sibling, eyes blazing, her smug defense was something you’d never forget—or stop cringing at. “Incest is a thing, sweetheart,” she’d said, as if that justified her madness. For weeks, the memory of those words had you shuddering, wishing for a mental reset button.
Lauren McCanister was a force of nature—a she-devil with a family name to match. As Julie McCanister’s daughter, she lived by an infuriatingly high standard of control and dominance. Her world was perfect, and when she set her sights on you during sophomore year, she made it clear to everyone that you were her latest obsession. No one, absolutely no one, was allowed near you unless she deemed them harmless.
She tormented you relentlessly, but God forbid someone else tried to get a rise out of you. Lauren would annihilate them without a second thought. A classmate teasing you? Gone. A friend daring to stand too close? Gone. You’d seen her in action, fists curling and jaw tightening as she made it clear that you belonged to her and her alone. And if anyone got too bold or too stupid, they’d face consequences so severe it felt like a cautionary tale in the making.
Her grip on your life was suffocating. She ruined you, obsessed over you, and protected you all at once. And no matter how much you hated her for it, Lauren McCanister ensured you never forgot who held the reins. She was relentless, even following you to college. It wasn’t even the best college she could have attended—Lauren had plenty of elite options. But none of those mattered. She only cared about being where you were.
College was no reprieve from her reign. It was the same routine all over again—ruining your life in public before curling up to you like some twisted lover in the shared dorm room you were stuck sharing with her. You’d naïvely thought that, at the very least, you’d have separate dorms. That hope was shattered when Lauren manipulated the housing office into assigning you as her roommate. When you begged and pleaded to switch dorms, the administration flat-out rejected you, claiming there wasn’t a single available room left on campus. A blatant lie if you’d ever heard one. The power she wielded was impossible to ignore.
In the end, you gave up. Fighting her only led to tantrums, chaos, or worse—her doubling down on her control. You let her do what she wanted, not because you accepted it, but because you lacked the energy to deal with the inevitable fallout. You sat there, blankly staring ahead as she nuzzled into you or threw verbal jabs your way. It was all white noise to you now.
And when she tried to take things further—her hands lingering too long, her touches becoming bolder—you somehow dodged her advances. Barely. You lived through each moment by sheer will, hoping for a way out that never seemed to come.
Soon, you found yourself desperate for something normal. A simple, unremarkable conversation with someone who didn’t come with strings attached—or a looming threat of destruction. But you couldn’t risk it. Lauren wouldn’t tolerate you forming connections with anyone else. You’d seen what happened to the last person who tried to be your friend. They were gone before you even had the chance to thank them for their kindness. Lauren’s threats weren’t empty; they were promises.
So, you turned to animals. They didn’t talk back, didn’t threaten, and most importantly, didn’t set off Lauren’s jealousy. The stray cats around campus became your escape, though one in particular stood out. A tiny tortoiseshell cat with the brightest green eyes you’d ever seen. At first, she was cautious, watching you from a distance with her tail flicking nervously. But after a few patient weeks, she began to trust you, curling up by your side and purring like she’d known you forever.
You called her Bean. It started as a joke, but the name stuck. Soon, she became the highlight of your day, greeting you with a chirpy meow and demanding affection. One afternoon, after a particularly lonely week, you decided she deserved a proper home. You stuffed Lauren’s graduation gift—a sleek new car—to the brim with pet supplies: toys, beds, scratching posts, and the fanciest cat food you could find.
When you brought Bean to your dorm, she took over immediately, padding across the floor like she owned the place. She climbed onto your chest that first night and made herself comfortable, purring loudly as if to reassure you that this was where she belonged. For the first time in ages, you felt a flicker of peace.
But Lauren noticed. Of course, she did. It started with a sharp sniff when she came back to the dorm, her nose wrinkling at the unfamiliar scent. Her eyes narrowed, and before you could react, she burst through the door, her gaze wild as if she were expecting to find another woman lying in your bed. Instead, her eyes landed on Bean—a scruffy, wide-eyed cat perched protectively on your chest, fur bristling as she hissed at the intruder.
“What the fuck is that?” Lauren growled, slamming the door shut behind her and tossing her purse to the floor.
You couldn’t help the grin that spread across your face as you scratched Bean’s chin, the cat settling into your lap like a queen defending her throne. “This is Bean! She’s part of our household now. What do you think, Laurie? Can we keep her?”
You used that nickname deliberately. That one soft spot of hers—“Laurie.” Her lips twitched, her steely expression faltering for just a second. You knew exactly what you were doing. And it worked, at least for now.
Lauren’s lip curled in disgust as she gave you another withering glare. “Whatever. Just make sure that thing doesn’t piss and shit everywhere. So fucking gross…” she spat before stomping off to your bedroom, slamming the door behind her with enough force to rattle the frame. You heard her muttering under her breath—something about how long it took her to earn a hug from you, and now a stray could just prance in and get all your affection? Her frustration practically oozed through the door. She didn’t care how much you adored that “nasty animal.” One way or another, it was leaving.
And leave it did. Over and over again. Lauren made it her personal mission to rid your lives of the “intruder.” She’d scoop up Bean and deposit her outside the dorm or, on particularly determined days, carry her across campus and dump her near the edge of the university grounds. Yet somehow, Bean always found her way back. Every single time, the cat would show up at your door, waiting patiently for your return.
Each time you discovered what Lauren had done, the lecture that followed was scathing. “Lauren, she’s a roommate too now! Stop acting like a jealous child!” you’d say, arms crossed as you issued yet another punishment. “Don’t touch me for a week!” Or worse, “You’re not allowed near me for the rest of the weekend!”
Lauren was furious. It didn’t make sense to her. How could you be so attached to something so small and fleeting? “It’s a cat,” she’d hiss under her breath after one of your scoldings, pacing the room in frustration. “It’s gonna live, what, fifteen years? I’m a human being, and I could give you everything. I could live ninety years with you. And you’re choosing that over me?” But no matter how much she seethed, you never budged.
Each day brought new schemes. Lauren tried everything, from tempting Bean outside with treats to outright tossing her into the hallway—only for you to catch her in the act. “Don’t come near me for a week, Lauren!” you’d declare, leaving her seething and humiliated. When she thought she could get away with kicking Bean off your bed while you were asleep, you retaliated by locking her out of the bedroom entirely. Even her attempts to “forget” to feed the cat backfired spectacularly. “Fine,” you’d said coldly, pushing her plate aside. “If you can’t feed Bean, I’m not eating with you. Cook for yourself from now on.”
Lauren tried to play it off, acting as if it didn’t bother her, but the cracks in her confidence were starting to show. With every failed attempt to oust the cat, you grew colder toward her, each punishment chipping away at her fragile ego. For the first time in her life, she felt like she was losing control—losing you. And no matter how hard she tried to convince herself that Bean was just a temporary problem, the resentment was beginning to fester.
It all came to a head one stormy evening. The rain hammered against the dorm windows, a fitting backdrop to the tension that had been simmering for weeks. You had just returned from class to find Lauren sitting stiffly on the couch, her knuckles white as she gripped a pillow. Her eyes darted to you and then to Bean, who was curled up in her usual spot on your lap, purring contentedly as you scratched behind her ears.
Lauren said nothing at first, but you could see the cracks in her façade—the slight tremble in her hands, the way her lips pressed into a thin line. It wasn’t until you gently shooed Bean off to refill her food bowl that Lauren finally snapped.
"Do you even love me anymore?!" she shouted, her voice breaking halfway through. Before you could respond, she was on her feet, rushing toward you with tears streaming down her face. Her mascara was smudged, and her carefully maintained composure was shattered. She looked vulnerable in a way you’d never seen before.
Grabbing your arms, she buried her face into your chest, her sobs muffled but shaking her whole body. “Please,” she choked out, her voice desperate. “Please love me again. Just—just give me something. Anything. I can’t stand this anymore! I’ll do anything!”
You froze, startled by the rawness of her plea. She clung to you like you were her last tether to sanity, her fingers curling into the fabric of your shirt as if letting go would kill her. “Kiss me again,” she begged, looking up at you with red, tear-streaked eyes. “Hug me. Touch me. Something. Just—just let me know you still want me. Please…”
Her desperation was overwhelming, her emotions pouring out like a dam had burst. For all her control, all her confidence, Lauren was utterly undone in this moment, and it was all because of you.
You sighed, feeling a wave of exasperation rise within you. Here she was again—Lauren, the woman who had practically ruined your life, crying in your arms like a damn mess. The whole situation felt absurd, and yet, there you were, trying to comfort her, having moved from your shared position standing next to the kitchen island and now on the couch, her nuzzling into your chest and Bean reclaiming her spot on your lap.
With a groan, you shifted slightly, still holding Bean in your lap, her soft purring a stark contrast to the drama unfolding. You reached down and scratched behind the cat’s ears for a moment, trying to find some kind of peace in the chaos.
“Jeez, Lauren,” you muttered, your voice tinged with frustration as she clung to you, her sobs growing louder. “You really need to grow a damn pair. I’m over here, doing this—” you gestured to the mess of emotions in your arms—“and you’re still acting like a child. Again.”
Lauren’s sobs faltered for a second, but she didn’t pull away. She just clung tighter, her face buried in your chest. You could feel the dampness from her tears spreading across your shirt, but all you could do was stare at the ceiling, willing yourself not to snap.
“I don’t even know why I’m comforting you right now,” you grumbled, glancing down at the cat in your lap as she blinked up at you innocently. “You’ve been a pain in my ass for so long, and now this? Really?”
Lauren gave a small, shaky laugh, but her grip on you tightened. “I… I just need you…”
You snorted in disbelief. “Yeah, no shit. You always need me.” You shook your head, feeling the familiar frustration bubble to the surface. “Listen, I get it, okay? You want attention. You want affection. You want me to kiss you and coddle you, but you can’t just—” You waved a hand, gesturing at her emotional state, “—turn into a freaking wreck every time things don’t go your way! You’re not a child, Lauren. Act like it!”
Her breath hitched, but she didn’t let go. “Please,” she whispered, voice small. “I’m sorry…”
“Yeah, well, sorry doesn’t fix everything, does it?” you shot back, the sarcasm dripping from your words. Still, you couldn’t help but give her a brief pat on the back, though it was more of an awkward attempt to soothe her than any real gesture of affection. “Just... get a grip. You’re not the only one going through shit, you know.”
Lauren didn’t reply immediately, but you could feel her body relax a bit, her sobs tapering off as the emotional storm seemed to pass. You sighed again, rolling your eyes as you shifted Bean off your lap to stand up. “Come on. If you’re going to be this clingy, at least get it together.” You held out your hand to help her up, exasperated but oddly willing to help—if only because it would keep her from throwing another tantrum.
You had a sinking feeling that this wasn’t the end of it, but for now, it was enough.
The next day Lauren was already in the living room when the cat decided to make her presence known again. With her arms crossed, standing tall in the middle of the room, Lauren was on a mission. Bean, lounging comfortably on the couch, gave her nothing more than an indifferent stare. That smug little furball—acting like she owned the place. Well, not on Lauren’s watch.
“You think I don’t see you, huh?” Lauren’s voice was low, simmering with barely contained anger. She was talking to the cat, but she might as well have been addressing the universe. “You’re not fooling anyone, you dumb little rat. You want to take over, huh? Just waltz in here and start acting like you belong?”
The cat didn’t flinch, didn’t move, didn’t even blink. Bean just stared back, unbothered, as if Lauren’s words meant nothing. And that? That’s what pissed Lauren off the most. She took a step closer, her jaw tight. “I’ve been patient. You can’t just keep taking over. You think I won’t kick you out again?” Her voice was low, but the threat hung in the air like the promise of a storm.
But Bean just stretched, letting out a long, drawn-out yawn, completely uninterested in Lauren’s angry tirade. It was as if the cat had already won. Lauren’s fists clenched, her chest heaving with frustration. “You know, I don’t care how cute you think you are,” she muttered. “I’m winning this.”

(support by reblogging banner by @/cafekitsune)
It was nearly midnight when you were finally let go from overtime duties at your job. You walked out of your building and, exhausted from staying up for so long, you plopped down on the curb in front of the entrance. At this hour you should try to get a cab home, but you wanted a moment to rest and regain your bearings first.
Despite the late hour, it wasn’t too dark outside; the streetlamps illuminated the sidewalks, and plenty of other office buildings still had windows with the lights on. Next to your building, a 24-hour convenience store was flooded in fluorescent lighting. Maybe you were lucky to have gotten out before midnight when plenty of others were still staying up. But with your eyelids drooping and your whole body feeling heavier than a slab of rock, calling yourself “lucky” felt like a stretch.
You spent the next few moments letting your attention drift, your eyes fluttering shut. You could still see the spreadsheets swimming in front of your vision, and you could still hear your boss’s voice urging you to keep up with the pace. “We won’t go easy on you just because you’re a junior. In fact, you should be working harder if you want to prove yourself.”
Work harder... prove myself... The words were in your mind constantly, even when your body protested.
Your eyes snapped open for a moment and you spotted a tall man in a hoodie exiting the convenience store, plastic bag in hand, headed for a nearby parked car. Perhaps it was just your fatigue making you see things, but he looked familiar.
He turned his head in your direction and your eyes met. You watched his own eyes widen in recognition.
“Uh, excuse me一” he approached you, scratching his head, “did you perhaps go to...?”
He mentioned your university’s name.
You blinked and studied his face.
Of course.
You had spoken to him only a handful of times before, but you still recognized the former captain of your university’s dance crew. Everyone at your major had known him.
“Choi Yeonjun...?”
一
Three years earlier
You swished around the beer in your plastic cup, watching the party scene unfold in front of you. The music blared from someone’s speakers, competing with the loud voices of your fellow university students shouting and laughing over each other, and tipsy students nearly stumbled into one another as they tried to reach the cooler for more drinks. All the while you leaned against the far wall of the common room, taking small sips of your beer, glancing around now and then for a sign of your roommate.
Still nowhere.
She’s probably playing a drinking game with one of her friends, you thought, or in another room making out with that guy from the dance crew. You sighed and drained the last of your beer, but made no move to refill it. The room was full of people you didn’t know or barely knew, their faces vaguely familiar from some common classes you shared with them, and you didn’t have the courage to talk to them. None of them paid you any notice either, instead staying close by the friends they already knew.
You had hoped that your roommate would at least be polite and introduce you to some friends you could stay with, but she had left your side as soon as you both entered the party. You sighed.
Just them a tall man in a baseball cap blocked your view.
He was clearly drunk, from the way his face was flushed red, and blinked a few times at you. You recognized him as a classmate from your literature elective, though you couldn’t remember his name.
“Do I... know you?” he slurred, blinking again. A small spark of hope rose in your chest.
“Yeah, we’re actually一”
He threw his head back and started laughing, nearly dropping the beer bottle he was holding. You tried to speak but he only laughed more. “Ah, what am I saying... who are you... hah...”
Your heart sank.
“Hey, you’re bother 一 you’re bothering them... that’s not nice...”
Another man appeared at your classmate’s side, nudging him. You could he that he was also tipsy from his pink-tinted cheeks and the way he stumbled over his words, but he seemed to have enough sense to stop his friend. He too looked familiar, but you weren’t not sure from where.
“I’m not boooothering,” your drunk classmate whined.
“Heh, okay you’re not... let’s just hang somewhere else...”
He squeezed his drunk friend’s shoulder, which seemed to divert his attention; he turned around to leave the room. The man then turned to look at you and you swore that he was properly looking, not just staring with his eyes glazed over from the alcohol.
“Hi...” He let out a little giggle. Cute.
“Um... hi?”
“Sorry ‘bout that... we won’t bother you... have fun.”
“It’s okay...”
He stood there for a few moments, smiling at you. It was just a lopsided smile from tipsiness, but you couldn’t help the flutter you felt in your chest.
Then, as if awakened out of nowhere, he snapped to his senses. He waved at you, letting out a shy “bye!”, then turned around to follow his friend. You watched his back as he nearly stumbled over the couch and disappeared into a room at the side, and for the first time that night, you smiled.
It took a few moments, but you finally remembered why that man was so familiar: He was a prodigy member of the dance crew, the one that had won countless competitions against other dance crews from different universities. He was only a sophomore and already he was turning heads. Of all the members of that award-winning roster, he was said to be the best one.
His name, you recalled, was Choi Yeonjun.
一
You sat in the passenger seat of Yeonjun’s car with your hands folded on your lap. A jazz-pop playlist was playing from the car stereo, and you glanced over at your driver, who was humming along and drumming his fingers on the steering wheel. His posture was relaxed and he steered with one hand. As the song reached its final chorus, he broke out into full song, singing with such passion that his eyes and nose scrunched up.
Maybe it was a bad idea to accept a car ride from someone you barely knew, but it was certainly a better option than remaining seated and half-asleep on the curb in front of your office building. Besides, you had heard nothing but good things about Yeonjun during your stay in university. You had been classmates with a few dance crew members and they always spoke of him with a tone of admiration.
The song came to an end just as the car stopped at a red light. At this hour, there were hardly any cars on the intersection. Yeonjun turned towards you and smiled.
“I haven’t seen you in ages,” he said.
“Me too.” You fought your tiredness to manage a smile.
“It’s so good to see a familiar face. I just moved here a few weeks ago.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” He tilted his head at you and licked his lips, thinking of what to say. “I actually got back from visiting my parents... I had to pick up some of my stuff there to move to my new studio. Then I ended up having dinner with them, walking around, catching up, and well... I was hoping to be home by ten.”
Your tired smile turned genuine at his story. “That sounds really nice, though. I visited my parents last month, so I get what you mean.”
“Mm, I miss them already.” The traffic light turned green and Yeonjun turned to face the road again; the car cruised past the buildings of the business district, the lights in some of their windows still on. “Hey, how long have you lived here?”
“Less than a year ago, I guess? Pretty much right after graduation. I got a good job offer so I moved here so that the commute would be a bit easier.”
“Yeah, that makes sense... hold on, the building I found you at...”
“Uh-huh?”
“You work at StarOne?”
You sighed. When you had first gotten the job offer, everyone around you had oohed and aahed, throwing compliments and congratulations your way 一 you had gotten a job at one of the biggest, most prestigious companies in the country. You had blushed and beamed at them and replied with Thank you and Oh my god, I’m so excited too. But it hadn’t even been a year since then, and now all you knew were hours of overtime and unhappy clients, rush projects and evaluations where your boss and his boss peeled back your pride layer by layer. You’re doing good, but we didn’t hire you for ‘good’, they would say. We’ve got dozens of other junior officers and even more applicants standing outside our doors, clamoring for the job that you have.
You took a deep breath and prepared yourself for the canned responses you had developed when asked about your job: Yes, I work at StarOne. The pay is fine. The hours are pretty long, I guess. It’s challenging. But at least I work at a good company.
But instead the car reached another red light and Yeonjun turned to look at you and his eyes softened, as if he had seen the exasperation you so often hid. “Oh... overtime?”
You nodded.
“Ah, sorry. You’re probably too tired to talk about work, huh?”
You nodded again.
He blushed and turned away for a moment. Then he reached to the passenger seat behind him, picked up a thick dark blue blanket, and handed it to you. “Ah, my bad, I shouldn’t have asked... Do you want to rest for a bit? You can sleep for the rest of the ride if you want. Don’t worry, the blanket’s clean.”
Your memory stirred and brought forth a moment three years ago, when you had first run into Yeonjun at a party. In your mind you saw the way he had squeezed your old classmate’s shoulder, keeping him from bothering you too much, and the way he had looked at you right after. You remembered feeling seen, as if he regarded you as an old friend.
The way Yeonjun looked at you now, blanket in hand, felt exactly the same.
“Oh... you didn’t have to.”
“Keep it in case you get sleepy.”
You took the blanket from him, his fingertips brushing yours as he handed it over, and unfolded it on your lap. When you looked back at him you couldn’t help the small smile forming on your lips.
“Thank you.”
He made sure to drive a little more slowly after that, but you could still hear him softly humming along to the songs on his playlist. The sound of his voice wrapped around you even more comfortably than the blanket.
You closed your eyes to let your mind wander. Sleep didn’t come to you, but new thoughts did 一 thoughts of Yeonjun and what you had known about him from university. Though you had barely spoken to him, your social circles did overlap somewhat; you had been classmates with a few dance crew members, and a few of his friends had been in the same major as you. Every time his name was brought up, it was always in a positive light, whether it was him helping out a new dance recruit or inspiring the rest of the dance crew to work harder. Not once had you heard anyone speak ill of him.
Now you understood why.
一
Two years earlier
You watched the rain from the entrance of the campus arts building, its extended roof keeping you and several other students dry. Today the downpour was much better compared to previous days 一 you could actually see ahead of you, for one 一 but it was still bad enough that the endless drumming of the rain on rooftops filled your ears, and the pathway leading out of the building was a blur.
Still, you had a class in ten minutes and Professor Im had not made any announcement of cancellation. The sciences building was a short walk away but you needed all the time you could to get there and dry yourself off. Sighing, you fished your umbrella out of your bag and silently thanked your past self for remembering to pack it this time. With the push of a button (good thing you got one of those automatic ones) the umbrella opened, you held it up, and you hugged your bag more closely around your body to keep it dry. Here you go.
You had barely taken two steps out of the building when someone bumped against your side. Your umbrella shook, causing a few rain droplets to land on your head, but you barely felt them. Not while you were too busy staring in horror at the student who had bumped into you and was now running through the rain, not caring that they were getting soaked to the bone.
“HEY!”
You chased after them, your umbrella swaying as you ran through the pathway, shouting at the student to wait. You were no match for their pace 一 you could see that they had long legs 一 but they finally heard your shouts, slowed down, and turned to look at you.
Oh. Choi Yeonjun.
His hair was wet, with his bangs clinging to his forehead, and his hoodie was so drenched that it had turned from light grey to dark. He was still panting from his sprint and the dampness on his face was a mixture of rainfall and sweat.
You felt your face grow hot. Somehow offering to share an umbrella with someone you kind of knew was more embarrassing than doing it with a total stranger. But you were already here anyway and it seemed rude not to say anything.
“Uh, we can... share...”
You held the umbrella up above your head to accommodate his height and he laughed.
“You don’t have to,” he said. “I’m headed to the gym for dance practice, it might be too far.”
“It’s okay! I’ll take you!”
That was a lie. The gym was in the opposite direction from the science building. But you had perfect attendance in class so far, so you figured that one late mark wasn’t too much of a cost.
Yeonjun giggled and took the umbrella from you. His hands were soft as they brushed against yours. Your whole body felt warm despite the chill from the rain. “I’ll hold it for us then,” he said.
You smiled and moved closer to him. “Thank you.”
“Nah, I should be thanking you. Coach would’ve embarrassed me in front of the whole team for being late. And I told the new members last week not to be late! I would’ve looked like a dummy in front of them.”
He laughed again and you couldn’t help but laugh too. His walking pace was brisk but you didn’t mind, keeping up with him and listening to him talk about his dance practice. A whole other world within the university campus seemed to open up in front of you, one of competitions and prizes and prestige and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. Yet there was an unmistakable gleam in Yeonjun’s eyes as he talked about the team’s new routine and the higher challenge level for it.
“We’ve only got a week left so we really can’t waste any time,” he said. “So... thank you. This helps a lot, really.”
The two of you were standing in front of the gym entrance. The rain had died down to a drizzle, and he lowered your umbrella. The walk from the arts building had felt like both an eternity and a moment.
You took the umbrella from him and his hands lingered on the handle before he let go.
“See you around,” he said. “Good luck with class.”
“Yeah, see you... good luck with practice.”
Yeonjun turned and sprinted into the gym, and you headed back to find the path to the science building. Not a single worry about being late bothered you, and you couldn’t help yourself from smiling.
一
Yeonjun’s GPS led him to a boxy apartment building. It was painted completely white, reflecting the light of a nearby streetlamp, which gave it a sterile glow. He pursed his lips; not the most homey place to live, he mused, but at least it looked well-kept.
He turned to you and found you asleep in the passenger seat, his blanked draped over your shoulders. Your chest rose and fell ever so slightly from your breaths, and your expression was completely calm. There was no trace of the undertones of stress he’d sensed when he had approached you; whatever worries you had about your job seemed to disappear in your dreams.
Yeonjun lifted a hand to tap your shoulder awake, but he hesitated. A wave of relief overcame him, and for a moment he couldn’t help but admire your serene expression as you slept. You looked so... content. Had he ever seen you look that way? While he had crossed paths with you only a few times, you had always looked as if something was on your mind. He could still see it all in his memories: the loneliness in your posture when he approached you at the party, the nervousness in your eyes when you had offered your umbrella to him. He wondered what worries were always plaguing you, and if anything could be done to keep them away.
At least he had returned the favor for the umbrella incident, he thought. And it only took him two years.
His hand was still hovering over your shoulder when you awoke. You blinked a few times to chase the sleepiness away before turning your head to look at him. A small smile spread across your face and Yeonjun felt a flutter stirring in his chest.
“Are we home...?” Your voice was still hoarse with sleep.
“Just got here.” He smiled. “I can walk you to your door...”
“Mm, okay...”
Your apartment door wasn’t far up, only on the third floor. You had his blanket draped around you like a scarf, and Yeonjun carried your bag for you. He set it down beside your door, its black paint finish contrasting with the white walls, and waited for you to unlock it.
It was only when you pushed the door open that you noticed his blanket around your shoulders. You tugged it off and handed it to him.
“Oh, sorry, I forgot一”
“Keep it.” Then, feeling a little bold, he continued: “You can give it to me the next time we see each other.”
“Next time...?”
His smile faltered. Did you not want to see him again? Was he being too forward? Did he overestimate how much you remembered him? Why did he feel so keen on seeing you again in the first place?
“You don’t 一 you don’t have to.” He reached a hand to take the blanket. “Sorry, I was, I was just...”
But you regained your senses from your nap and beamed at him. The sight of it sent another fluttering feeling through Yeonjun’s chest.
“No, I mean... I was just surprised that you’d want to catch up, that’s all.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, I... um. I do want to catch up with you, Yeonjun.”
“Great! Oh shit一” He clasped his hands over his mouth. His voice had come out a little too loud. “I mean, let’s work something out. I can give you my number...”
一
You had been lying in bed for fifteen minutes and you were still awake. You should be trying to sleep for another day of overtime tomorrow, but all you could think about was your drive home with Yeonjun.
You reached for your phone on your nightstand and looked at his contact for the fourth or fifth time since you’d shut the door behind you. He had saved his contact name as “jjunie” with a little fox next to it, and the sight of it made you chuckle.
Did this really happen? You thought of the few times you had run into each other, seemingly at random: his cute little “bye” as he clutched a beer, or his damp hair sticking to his forehead as he held onto your umbrella. His life felt tangential to yours, always passing by you, but never with you. And yet you were holding on to your phone with his number in it and an offer to see each other again.
You laughed again and set the phone down on the bed, on top of the blanket that he had lent you, and rolled to your side. It didn’t matter now, you mused. Old memories gave way to newer ones: his smile as he opened the passenger side of his car for you, his humming to a jazz tune as he waited at the intersection, his soft hands placing the blanket in yours.
No matter how things had been back then, they were different now. Yeonjun would stick around in your life for a little while. You might even have a friend, and the thought consoled you as you finally drifted off to sleep.

The buzz of the table saw echoed in the barn as Bucky carefully cut through the maple board, inspecting it to make sure it was even. He put a lot of thought and care into each project and design he created. Everything from cost to maintenance to longevity. His current project was especially close to his heart.
My favorite one yet.
After the fight, coming to grips with his trauma, everything, the city felt different. Bucky longed to have a simpler life. He unexpectedly found a bit of peace in the form of woodwork. Using his hands to build things, and not damage them, kept him busy and happy. But the thing that brought everything full circle was you.
His wife.
"Doll, I still can't believe you said yes."
"Who would say no to you, Jamie?"
He glanced at a photo of the two of you on the wall, still in disbelief that he got to wake up beside you every morning. He found it more and more difficult to get out of bed when he wanted to stay tangled up with you, but the bills wouldn't pay themselves and he had to work to get a paycheck. Lucky for him, his "office" was in the nearby barn. The yard was a decent size, too.
"Great place for a family one day, isn't it?"
"Just about perfect, doll."
Like Steve, he hadn't expected to love living a quiet life outside of the city, but he did. You made a beautiful home together and it wasn't that far of a drive if he wanted to visit. He wondered some days if he was living in a dream because things seemed too good to be true.
If so, he never wanted to wake up.
"Need you to be perfect," he said to himself as he cut another board.
He checked the design again, his eyes narrowed as he thought about how long it would take to finish. You gave him your seal of approval when he showed his idea and reminded him not to put too much pressure on himself. He had plenty of time to make it and other projects came first.
But he hadn't had a task as important as this one.
He removed his safety glasses when the sun shone through the window, giving the place a soothing glow and him a moment to pause and reflect. He made love to you that morning. There was no pain in his left shoulder. Steve planned to stop by this evening. It was just about a perfect day.
How is this my life?
"You know, I think that is going to be your best work yet."
Bucky turned his attention to where you stood in the doorway. He couldn't keep the smile off his face when he noticed you had one of his shirts on. You looked good in his clothes, always had. And seeing you enter a room still took his breath away. He didn't think he could love you more, but he did each day.
If I ever stop breathing from the sight of you, at least your face will be the last thing I see.
His gaze went to your stomach before he closed the distance between the two of you and placed his large hand on it. He hadn't built a crib, but he did his research to be sure he'd make the best and safest one possible. It would be something to hopefully pass on to future generations. Another tradition.
But first and foremost, it would belong to the baby.
Our baby.
"I'm just getting started, but I think you're right," Bucky said, sinking to his knees and kissing your belly. "Only the best for our little jellybean."
Most days he couldn't keep his hands off of you, but it got worse once he found out you were pregnant with his child. You were glowing, more than usual, and he was a moth drawn to the flame. Thankfully you didn't mind and let him indulge.
Your need matched his own.
He'd never forget the joy he felt when you told him you were pregnant. You often brought him snacks or lunch while he worked, but that day you brought him a small gift box, too. It wasn't his birthday or a special occasion, so he had no idea what it could possibly be. Inside were two positive pregnancy tests. He almost dropped them, too stunned to speak. His heart almost burst through his chest when he saw the happy tears in your eyes.
"We're having a baby, Bucky. You're going to be a dad!"
It took a minute to sink in. You were having his baby. He was going to be a dad. You were giving him a family. A life he had only dreamt of.
'I still have to see a doctor, but-"
His mouth came down on yours before you could finish what you had to say, his massive hands framing your face so he could deepen the kiss. He poured his love, passion, soul, everything into it. He took you right there on one of his empty work tables, his left hand on your stomach the entire time.
"I love you, doll. Love you both so much."
He brought you back to the house and made love to you all over again, taking his time to worship you. He didn't get any work done the rest of the day. It was worth it.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, concern filling his eyes when you yawned.
He always checked on you during his breaks to make sure you felt okay, even when you insisted that he didn't need to. Days like this when you visited the barn first, he still had to ask. Any discomfort or pains, he wanted to know and help however he could.
"Just fine," you assured him, tucking a few strands of hair that came loose from his ponytail behind his ear. Just like he couldn't stop touching you, you always found an excuse to run your fingers through his long, brown locks since he grew it back out. "A bit tired, but fine."
"You're not wearing your mama out, are you?" he asked your belly. He pressed his ear against it and felt a slight kick, as if he got an answer. "Good because she needs rest. She has enough to deal with taking care of me."
"We take care of each other," you said.
Bucky wanted to believe that. You had a good set-up in the city before the two of you decided to move and he worried you'd regret going with him. You reminded him that you were still going to work from home and it was a choice you made together.
Partners. Equals. Soulmates.
"Yes, we do," he said fondly, focusing on your stomach again. "But can you believe she had the nerve to ask if we should buy you a crib? Like she forgot I could make you one. Don't hold it against her, jellybean. Hormones and baby brain."
"Bucky!" you scolded before you laughed.
He chuckled as he kissed your stomach a second time. "I'm kidding. Kind of. I did have to drive all over town the other day to find the potato chips she wanted."
Bucky would drive to the ends of the earth to satisfy any craving you had.
"Hey. Our baby is the one asking for them and it was the only flavor that would provide any satisfaction," you defended yourself. "And I balanced it out with fruit, so everyone wins."
"Yes we do and I'm glad. I need you both nice and healthy," he said as he stood up.
"We're both fine. You know that," you smiled.
He hadn't missed a single appointment, wanting to be there every step of the way. Listening to his baby's heartbeat was like hearing his favorite song again for the first time. He actually waved at the screen when you had your sonogram. And he swore the baby waved back.
Bucky also bought a few books on babies and parenthood. While he knew some life lessons couldn't be learned from a book, he wanted to be prepared. You supported him in that and baby proofing the house in advance.
Your only request was that you didn't want to know what you were having, which he agreed to.
It would be a beautiful surprise for both of you.
"Need you both safe, too," he added.
"We are safe," you said, glancing around. "Our home is safe. You don't need to worry."
Bucky tried not to. Your home was secure and he kept a clean and safe shop in the barn, but he didn't want to take a risk by having you too close to any of the tools or get irritated by the dust. The only table he let you touch was the empty one where he made love to you. Maybe that was why it was still empty.
"I guess you're right," he said, brushing his lips against your forehead. "You know if we have a girl, I'm never letting her out of my sight."
"Oh, I know," you giggled, putting your hand on his wide chest. Feeling the wedding band through his shirt was one of his favorite things. "And if we have a boy, you'll teach him to be a gentleman. Though I imagine he'll probably be just like you."
"Hey, I am a gentleman, ma'am," he smiled.
"Mmm. You keep telling yourself that," you teased.
Bucky hoped they took after you. Kind, but fierce. Loving and fair. Whether he had a daddy's girl or a mini version of himself, he just wanted to have a special place in their heart.
"And you really don't mind that I'm making the crib, do you?"
"Of course, I don't," you said, frowning. He immediately kissed your lips to make it disappear. "Why?"
"Just making sure," he said, rubbing your belly. The source of comfort from such a small gesture amazed him. "I think I just feel better knowing our baby is truly in my hands."
It was silly, but Bucky thought if he made the crib that it would be like he was holding your child as he or she slept. That no matter what, they would be safe and cared for. Surrounded by familiarity and warmth.
Your baby deserved that and more.
"I think that's a beautiful thing," you assured him, placing a hand over his. "You work so hard for us and I know our baby will one day appreciate that you built them something with your heart and hands."
His hands, like the rest of him, were massive and strong. A man his size was meant to destroy, which he did in battle and worse. He also proved that he was meant to create. His size never intimidated you. In fact, you once said that one of many things that made him special was how deceptively gentle he could be.
That the only ruin he would bring you with his touch would make you whole again.
In my hands, you'll always be loved.
"I'll always work hard for my family," he promised.
He hadn't told you yet, but he planned to build a rocking chair for the nursery, too. He wanted it to be a surprise. He could already picture the two of you sitting in it with a soft blanket to keep you warm.
The image made his heart swell.
"And if I have my way, we'll have one more. Jellybean could use a companion."
"Now you sound just like Steve. Both of you wanting to keep your best girls knocked up," you smiled, sliding your hands up his muscular arms to his shoulders. "You think you'll convince me?"
"I don't think. I know," he smirked, kissing you before you could argue.
As excited as Bucky was for the next part in your journey together, he was also afraid. He knew he'd be a good father, but not a perfect one. He'd make mistakes and stumble along the way. He wouldn't always have the answer. What he did know was that he was going to give his child unconditional love and care.
Starting with the crib built with his heart and hands.
Bucky is going to be an amazing dad, right? And how about Steve? Love and thanks for reading! 💙

okay so first of all love your work so far, thanks for sharing!! second i was thinking about how easily fox would get a hard on in public, like you give him a single word of praise or you say his name in a certain way and suddenly his work pants are feeling incredibly tight and his hands are running all over his face and he has to stay behind his desk or maybe stick a pillow down against his groin just for a little bit of relief and you barely even did anything
anyways i want to scream i need him so bad
payback- fox mulder x female reader (smut!!!!)
it takes very little to get fox going. one touch, one word, and he’s putty in your hands. so one day, when he's a little too much for you, you decide to hit the man with a little payback- and god, it's worth it!

it was embarrassing, honestly. he just couldn’t keep it together. fox isn’t typically so easy– well, in a way he is, because he knows just as well as you do that pretty much anything will set him off. but he’s always been good about hiding it in public… at least, he was before he met you.
for a guy as horny as he is, you’d think he would thrive under pressure. you’d seen plenty of guys respond to the feeling, seeking a reward, and it would make sense for fox to fit this approach; he was cocky, often to his own detriment, and he pushed until he got what he wanted, whether that be top-secret files or a diet coke from the vending machine. he was a go-getter in every sense of the word. but the second his brain couldn’t keep up with his crotch, he became a lost cause. you liked that about him. it was so easy to get him flustered, and when he was, it was adorable; he tripped up every other word, he got fidgety, he struggled to comprehend even the simplest of conversation, and all that dysfunction was the result of a touch or a sound.
you learned of this little talent of his the first time you visited him at work. the two of you hadn’t been dating long, but anybody in the same room as you could recognize the disgusting eyes the two of you gave each other. as much as he made your heart flutter, he also made your hips ache, and you were just dying for him– and he felt the same. he couldn’t get enough of you. one afternoon the agent gave you a ring on your cell phone and asked if you wanted to take your lunch break with him, and you laughed and informed the man you’d called in sick for no other reason than you couldn't bear to go into work that day. so he insisted you come and hang out with him in his office, at least for a little while, and you had no problem saying yes. when you got there, you finally got to snap the missing piece of his puzzle into place; the walls screamed of his nature, of his passion, the insanity that turned everyone but you off of him. all the files and disorganization piled high around him like a palace throne, and he sat in his squeaking desk chair, king of it all. you could’ve drowned in that room almost as badly as you wished to drown in him. you’d brought food from a shop down the street, and he ate it gratefully, and you talked his ear off for hours about cases and what it’s like to shoot a gun and have you ever seen any vampires?, and after a while of letting you see him in a space intimate as that, he was getting himself all worked up. you sat so pretty on his desk as he had his back to you, rifling through case files and showing you confidential things he could get fired for. you also looked so pretty when you gazed into his microscope in the back of the office, playing around with all his toys. but when you walked over to where he sat behind his desk and touched all his photographs with curious eyes, and said, “looks like you’re good at your job, fox,” you learned for the first time how easy he was to please. you ogled how he crossed one leg over the other and let out a frustrated groan, and how every move you made wasn’t so much admired as coveted; you saw pleading eyes, a dry mouth, restless hands running up and down his legs and over his blushing skin. you saw how once he couldn’t take it anymore, he cornered you by his favorite poster and kissed you right beneath the saucer, and you’d never forget it.
you didn’t wield this power too often, because you didn’t want to frustrate him. it was so easy to get him riled up and leave him hanging, but you didn’t always have the willpower not to help him out after the fact. and who could blame you, when you have a six-foot-tall government agent for a boyfriend, noisy and whiny and brutally hot all at once? torturing him was fun, yet it had to be done sparingly. but it was a good kick in the back of the knee when he was getting too aggravating, and you could use that leverage right about now.
all day, fox had been getting on your nerves. it takes a lot for him to annoy you because most of the time if he's getting arrogant, you find it attractive. but today was a different situation. the agent came home early, pissed off beyond reconciliation, yet another official reprimand to stain his personal file with the bureau. he burst through the door with a mouthful to spew, and you’d hung around him all day as he paced the floor and brooded over his desktop full of files. you did just about everything you could to cheer the guy up; you made him fresh coffee, you threw his favorite sweater in the dryer so he could pull on something warm, you’d even called in a chinese food order so he could get something in his stomach. but none of it was working. when you tried to play with his hair, he brushed you off, and every time you kissed his shoulder, he’d meet you with near indifference. if you didn’t know how much he loved you, you might’ve slapped him, but this mood wasn’t one he could just get over. he was snappy and tired and upset, and there was only so much you could take, so when hours had passed and he was still being a grump, you decided to get some fresh air– but not without an ulterior motive, of course.
with freshly set curls and the darkest lipstick you had on hand, you primped yourself to go out for a drink with a few girls from work. they invite you every friday night and you always decline, because there is typically a certain man waiting up for you– but that man seemed not to care, so you chose to take them up on the offer this time around. you shuffled through your blended closet, pulling one of fox’s suit jackets off the rack and draping it over your bare shoulders. you wore a little black dress with a sweetheart neck that stopped just above your knees, the very dress you wore on your and fox’s first date. shoving your feet into a pair of kitten heels, you clicked your way out of the bedroom and into the apartment, standing squarely before the television so fox was forced to take a look.
“what do you think?”
you watched his big eyes trail up your pantyhose-clad legs, admiring the lacy pattern, and a smile quirked on his lips. “pretty. hey, you’re wearing the dress.”
“i’m going out,” you sighed, blowing past his acknowledgement.
“out? where?”
“some girls from work invited me to grab a drink at the bar,”
“but it’s friday night!”
you rolled your eyes, forcing yourself to tuck away the mischievous grin you felt creeping in. “well, i’ve been stuck inside all day with you, debbie downer. i wanna go have a little fun.”
the man shifted in his seat, expression turning sour. “so you’re not gonna hang out with me tonight?”
“baby, i’ve been trying to hang out with you all day. you just keep brushing me off.”
you crossed the living room to the foyer, where your purse sat on his dining room table. he got up and followed you in, and when you turned around he was right behind you. he had a softer look about him, something like regret, and you had to remind yourself to stand tall in the face of your biggest weakness.
“i’m sorry. i’ve been an asshole.”
“yeah, you have.”
“you know i love you,” he frowned, “more than anything in the world.”
even in heels, you still had to push onto your toes to reach him. with a soft kiss to his cheek, you replied, “i know you do, don’t worry.”
“but you’re still going out anyway,” he huffed.
“i am. but…” you pushed on his chest so he’d take a step back, “if you want to come with me–”
all of a sudden he had floppy ears and a tail, his sparkling eyes full of hope that you’d already forgiven him. “i can come?”
“sure, you can come… it’ll be work friends, though, you have to be social.”
“psh, me? antisocial? love, you’re crazy.”
you giggled as he hurried off to the bedroom, rushing to change out of the work clothes he’d sulked in all day. you leaned against the wall in the foyer, peeking through the door as he changed. you admired the curve of his back while he draped it with a white t-shirt and layered a henley over top, tucking the front into his jeans. you saw him reach for the brown leather jacket in the closet and silently thanked god. once he wriggled into that beat-up pair of timberlands you adored, you straightened out against the wall, working to keep your nonchalant composure.
he did a little spin and asked in a girly voice, “what do you think?”
and in the deepest tone you could muster, you answered, “pretty.”
he scoffed, taking your hand and leading you out the door, promising, “not as pretty as you.”
✮ ⋆ ˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩
this is where the fun begins. you got him out of the house and in public, where he can’t escape you, and you were going to have your way.
you saw it in every move he made after you placed your hand on his thigh. you sat with three coworkers at the bar, chatting and laughing while they slammed glasses of wine and you nursed a lukewarm beer. fox wasn’t a drinker, so he had a club soda and cranberry, and after a while, you started sharing his drink and leaving yours to collect sweat. you told them all about fox’s job and they questioned him endlessly about solving unexplained cases, and they all seemed to fawn over him which you expected; girls always drool over him when you’re around. he found it funny, and despite the inkling of jealousy, so did you. he seemed to be enjoying himself as he talked about his most recent case, and you smiled, because you’d been waiting all day to do this. you waited for him to finish his sentence, and you let your hand fall gently on his thigh, laughing along with the others.
“crazy job, don’t you guys think so?” you teased, and they all nodded, yelling over each other in the chaos of the bar.
fox shot you a look, and you bit your lip like you had nothing on your mind at all. he leaned in close to your ear and asked, “what are you doing?”
you bumped your nose into his cheek playfully. “nothing!”
“b-but–”
“but what?” you interrupted, pushing your hand down his leg to reach his knee, which you scratched at softly with your fingernails. he felt the sensation through his jeans and shuddered.
the agent took a sip of his drink and placed his hand over yours on his knee, stopping your teasing. he glanced at the girls who'd invited you, and all three of them were in some deafening debate, almost like you two never showed up. you crossed one leg over the other on the barstool and turned towards the man, deciding that if they were going to be in their own world, you might as well have fun in yours.
“they’re pretty hammered,” he diverted.
“good,” you smirked, “maybe they’ll be drunk enough to leave us alone.”
“i thought you wanted to come spend time with them,”
“i did, but you know me. i like you better.”
you admired the blush on his cheeks, and you knew it was burning hot because the only light inside the place radiated from neon signs. his eyes darted all over, and he kept chugging his soda, and you felt pride flooding your chest.
“listen, i’m sorry about today,” fox apologized, tucking a lock behind your ear. “i hope you’re not mad.”
“not anymore,” you winked, and you leaned over to press a kiss to his jaw. you barely let your lips touch his skin– you wanted him to wish you’d come closer.
slowly, calculated-like, you took his glass and stole the last sip, making the effort to dribble a little down your chin. you wiped up the spill with your thumb and licked it off, and fox’s lips parted. you wished it wasn’t so loud, because you could imagine the soft pant that fell from those lips.
“what is it, baby?”
the man gave you a look, and then he shifted in his seat. your eyes drifted to his lap, where a little bump was rising, and they nearly bugged out of your head. even if it was what you set out for, you'd never get used to how little it took to get him going. you draped your hand over his bicep and squeezed, placing down his empty glass with glittering eyes.
“y-you… what- what are you trying to do?” fox stammered.
with an innocent bat of a lash, you answered, “nothing, foxie!” and when the flames began to paint his face, you giggled, “something wrong?”
“well- you- i- i mean,” fox groaned, rubbing his hands back and forth over his rosy face to try and shake the feeling swirling inside him. “you’re acting all…”
“all what?”
you stared intently as he passed his hands through all that thick, tawny hair on his head, wishing they were yours. something about him was unbelievable when he got this way. he licked his lips and swallowed nothing but air.
“fox, what’s gotten into you?” you chuckled as the man began running his palms back and forth across the wooden bartop.
as he dug at the counter with his nails, he grumbled, “you– you’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
“m’not doing anything,” you lied as you let your hand fall on his thigh again, this time dangerously close to the bulge with your name written on it.
you watched him hiss, taking your hand and putting it back in your lap. he raised his own in an attempt to flag down the waiter, but there was no chance he’d get noticed; the bar was packed to the gills with drunken bodies, all swarming around you, all moments away from being privy to his situation if you pulled anything else. fox looked like he was lost– in the bar, in his head, in the pressure pushing against his pants– and you were soaking it in like sunshine.
“you look so good tonight, have i told you that?” you gushed, “well, i did as a joke before, but i mean it. you’re so handsome.”
“come on, love,” fox rolled his eyes as if he couldn’t believe you were doing this here, now, in front of the world.
“what? i’m being serious! i like that shirt on you, it makes you look so strong,” you brushed your fingertips along the neckline, letting your nails drag across the base of his throat. you watched a torrential shudder tumble down his back, a curated avalanche in the making.
“i- i mean-”
“–and you’ve been so sweet since you got over your mood, which makes me so happy. you know i love when you’re good to me,” you sighed, “and you are. you’re so good to me, foxie.”
suddenly, a strong palm wrapped itself around your wrist and tugged you off the barstool. fox didn’t even bother telling the girls where you were going since you hadn’t heard from them in a while anyway; he only pulled you through the thumping building, weeding through clusters of drunks towards the glowing bathroom sign in the back. butterflies were stuffing you full as he pushed open the women’s bathroom door, which was miraculously a dingy little single with a lock. letting go of his grip on you, he locked the door, muffling the blaring noise coming from outside.
“hey, wait a minute–”
fox’s face dropped. you yelped as he rushed his hands across you, touching everywhere he could, snaking them beneath your stolen jacket and under your dress. you reveled in the feeling, but once his lips tried to press against your neck, you clicked your tongue in disapproval.
“not here, fox,”
“nobody’s gonna see us,” the man urged, “i– you– come on, please?”
“if you want anything, you have to take me home.”
“you just fuckin’ teased me all night,” he growled, “please, baby.”
you giggled as he backed your hips up to the one and only sink, trapping you beneath his palms. his hard-on twitched against your stomach, and as you looked up into his tall, swimming eyes, you could see something surrendering inside them. you pressed your hands against his stomach, and he pressed himself against you, sighing softly at the ounce of relief.
“you’re so bad, wanting me to get you off in a bar bathroom,” you teased.
“yeah, i’m the bad one. don’t act stupid.”
“don’t be mean, or you get nothing.” you sucked on your teeth, giving him maliciously sweet eyes.
“okay, okay, i’m sorry. just… please.”
fox leaned down to rest his head on your shoulder, letting out a whimper so soft it was nearly undetectable. you had to stop your eyes from rolling back at how needy he was; he’s never been this bad, of all the times you’d brutally strung him out in public. maybe it was because he was experiencing your twisted form of payback, or maybe it was all the stress from work in the morning, but you pushed him to a new limit without ever really touching him. your entire body began to burn as you reached your palm down between his hips and rested your hand where he begged for you, and felt a pair of lips attach themselves to your neck, nipping softly at the skin in gratitude. you massaged him like he was fragile, like anything rougher would break him, and in a way, it was true– his knees were weak already, and as he rolled his hips against your palm, his hands trembled at his hold on the hem of your dress.
“need me that bad, hm?”
all you got back was a strangled, “mm.”
“m’not gonna get on my knees, the floor is too dirty,” you chuckled, knowing he wanted more than what he was getting.
fox didn’t speak. his brain was too wired to indulge you, but his body ached to be touched, so he found a nonverbal way to ask for it; he lifted you and shoved you onto the sink, and you scrambled to grab at the ceramic countertop.
“fox–”
his big hands shoved beneath your dress and dug into the chub of your hips, scratching at your legs like a dog. he craned his neck down to kiss you, and as you got distracted by the sugary cranberry crystals at the corners of his lips, he moved in a hurry to unbutton his jeans. you didn’t know exactly what he was doing until your hand made contact with smooth skin, and you looked down to see his cock just barely bouncing in your buzzing palm, swollen and screaming for contact.
your lips turned downward in a sympathetic smile as you cooed, “oh, baby.”
you shuffled up the counter a little bit so you had a little more room to arch forward. bringing your palm up to let a little spit dribble out of your mouth, nice and slow, just how he likes, you watched his jaw drop and you spread the stuff around your hand with your tongue. when he was sufficiently driven insane, you wrapped your hand all the way around him and laughed.
“i can feel that second heartbeat you’ve got,” was all you said before you began pumping.
fox’s hands flew to your face as you stroked him, his thumb gravitating to your tongue; his eyes were glazed over like never before, and you wished you could take a picture. you watched air fill his tummy over and over, heaving in desperation, and he bucked into your hand as if he’d never been touched before in his life. you moved a little faster, feeling the soft disruption of his veins underneath your fingers, swiping your thumb over his tip and making him shake. and fox was all noise, louder and prettier sounding than any club song baring behind the locked door. strings of your name interlaced with curses and promises and praises of how good you were, and how he loved you, and that he wished he was home so you could do more than this, and you sat there swearing that he would get what he wanted the second you two left. by the time you shut him up with your mouth, he was nearly there; and by the time you pulled him by the hips right against your soft stomach, both hands on him, his cock close enough he could feel your dress bunching up on his head, he was there. he was far fucking past there, cumming all over your pretty black dress, leaving milky stains you’d have to cover with his jacket, stains he would be reminded of later when he ripped that thing off you at home. you were in his ear instantly as he collapsed into your shoulder, holding him up, voice soft so you didn’t make his head buzz any more than it was already.
“oh, good job, baby, good boy,” you smiled, “how’s that, hm? better?”
“bet… better,” he panted, back to the obsessive kissing all over your neck.
“there’s so much more where that came from, foxie, i promise.”
“then can we get the fuck outta here?” he whined, pulling away to show you his pretty pink face.
with one last warm kiss, one where you caught his lip between your teeth just for fun, you nodded. “get me a towel first."
fox passed you a paper towel which you used to wipe your dress with, and he chuckled at how you gently folded it up and dropped it in the trash can, like it was a treasure to you. then, as you hopped down from the counter and he zipped his jeans back up, you took him by the hand and dragged him out of the restroom, back over to the bar where your three coworkers were wasted beyond saving. you leaned into the conversation and said, “gotta bounce! i’ll see you guys next week!” and didn’t stick around to hear the drunken replies. instead, you guided the pretty boy behind you out to the parking lot, where he rushed to get behind the wheel and drive you home. you thanked god he didn’t have a drink in his system because he was in a real hurry.
as you sat in his passenger seat, watching his jittering hand play with the gear shift, you were almost satisfied. your idea of revenge might be a little twisted, but it worked. you’d accomplished what you set out for, now the owner of an apology and a man aching for you. but after that stunt at the bar, you had a newfound greed, one you wouldn’t shake until he got you home; and maybe you were abusing your power, but how could you let up now? as you placed your hand over his, the engine revved beneath your feet, and you giggled. maybe it was torture, but he liked it– so you played with his fingers, and he groaned, and when you finally reached his apartment building, the two of you couldn’t get upstairs fast enough.

Not Like That
Pairing: Sebastian Sallow x F!MC Summary: Things change over the summer holiday with Sebastian, and then things get messy. Might as well spend the first few weeks of your last year fighting about it. WC: 6.1k Notes: Oh god, the first fic I've written in like six years and I am sure it's shit. I am sorry if characterization is off. It takes me a minute?? I also have zero clue if I want this to be canon compliant or not so there's absolutely no mention of Anne or what happened! Also, no beta so please don't be too harsh. I just wanted to have fun writing a thing and hopefully someone else enjoys it!
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“How else am I supposed to look?” you asked Imelda. “Do you hear yourself talk?”
“Do you?” she shot back, giving you the same exasperated look you were giving her. “If you don’t say something about it soon, you’re going to lose your chance. I’m not sure I can hold them at bay much longer.”
“I don’t know what chance you think I should have,” you said, though you didn’t sound as confident about it. The fact of the matter was you knew exactly what Imelda was talking about, and she was right. You hated that she was right.
“Sallow’s come back a foot taller and just bigger and you aren’t the only one who’s noticed,” she pointed out. “Violet’s determined to slip him a love potion. I’ve been trying to tell her he’s already involved, but considering I can’t say who, it hasn’t worked all too well.”
“I hate her,” you muttered, feeling a prick of jealousy.
“You hate anyone who so much as bats an eyelash at him,” Imelda pointed out. “You can save yourself the trouble but just telling him that you fancy him and snog in the upstairs of the Three Broomsticks already.”
“Imelda!”
“Or snog him somewhere else. I happen to quite like the upstairs of the Three Broomsticks for that sort of thing, but to each their own,” she said simply, shrugging. She was unashamed, and part of you envied her for it.
“It’s not that simple,” you sighed, giving her a pleading look.
“And why not?”
“Because…because…” you stammered, trying to find a reason that would satisfy your friend. When none came to mind as she stared at you expectantly, you groaned and rested your head on your crossed arms on the table in front of you. “He’s going to have a right laugh at me, Imelda.”
“No, he will not,” she said, poking you in the shoulder. You looked up at her, already defeated and resigned to the fact that despite your years-long pining for Sebastian Sallow, nothing would ever come at it.
“What makes you so sure?” you asked.
“Because Sallow’s a lot of things, but he’s not that cruel. Besides, for all you know, he could be whining to Ominus about how much he fancies you but thinks he has no chance,” she pointed out. “Now, come on. We’ll be late, and Hecat swore to put me in detention if I was late again.” The two of you stood from the table in the library where you had been sitting, gathering up your belongings before heading to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
“Why are you so late all the time anyway?” you asked curiously as you held open the door into Central Hall for her.
“Flying,” she answered simply.
Of course. It was Imelda - you should have known.
___
“Mr. Sallow, why must you always duel in my classroom?”
Professor Hecat was only just leaving her office as you and Imelda entered and seemed too busy repairing the collateral damage from Sebastian’s duel with Leander Prewett to notice the two of you sneaking to nearby seats. The room was righting itself as Sebastian raised his hands up to the professor, taking a few steps away from the dueling platform he had been standing on.
“Because, Professor, there isn’t another place where dueling is sanctioned,” he pointed out, his voice conveying innocence he didn’t possess. You rolled your eyes because you knew full well that dueling being sanctioned didn’t stop him from doing it. Crossed Wands meetings and plenty of adventures proved otherwise, and the look Hecat was giving him also showed she knew otherwise.
“Let’s see if we can make it through the term without you destroying my classroom, Mr. Sallow.”
“I’m sorry, Professor,” he said, raising his wand and muttering a hasty spell to repair the nearby broken desk. It righted itself in one piece, still smoking slightly. “It won’t happen again.” He shot her a smile before heading to a nearby seat. “Imelda, what are you doing here? I didn’t realize Quidditch players needed N.E.W.T.S. Defense Against the Dark Arts,” he chuckled as he leaned forward to look at her.
“I take no chances,” Imelda replied cooly. “You never know what an opponent will do to get ahead, and knowing how to unjinx a broom can’t hurt.”
“If you say so,” he said, still smiling as he shook his head. “And my favorite Hufflepuff returns. I was starting to wonder if you even still went here,” he joked, elbowing you gently in the arm.
“No, still here,” you chuckled awkwardly, trying to rub the tingling feeling out of your arm where he had touched you. It was ridiculous, letting a simple touch get to you, but everything was ridiculous when he was involved.
Before either of you could say anything else, Professor Hecat was calling for the class to focus on her so she could teach. You tried your best to pay attention, but the fact you were next to Sebastian was nothing short of distracting. Words came out of the professor’s mouth and you tried to hold onto them, only for them to slip through your fingers because Sebastian was making that focused face he always made when he was trying to learn something, brow furrowed and the tip of his tongue poking out as he scribbled on parchment.
It was the first time you had really gotten to see him up close. Sebastian had certainly grown over the summer holiday – he was broader and if there were any doubts, the way his sleeves were pulled taut over his arms put them to rest. He was a head taller than last year, and you cursed him mentally for somehow having even more freckles. He had left sixth year looking more like a boy and returned for seventh year looking like a man, and you certainly hadn’t been the only one who noticed.
Part of the reason why Sebastian had joked about not knowing if you had come back to Hogwarts was that you hadn’t been able to get his attention before now. You had seen him on the Hogwarts Express, but he and Ominis had been having such an intense-seeming conversation that you hadn’t wanted to interrupt. You had tried to end up in the same carriage on the way up to the school, but before you could tell him that you had room in your carriage, Violet McDowell was pulling him into hers with Sebastian tugging Ominis in too.
Dejected and a little annoyed, you had ridden up to the school in huffy silence with Imelda and Poppy.
Outside of trying to wave at Sebastian from the Hufflepuff table after the sorting, you hadn’t bothered to get his attention. He was clearly enjoying the attention of the girls that somehow seemed to find every free space around him. You could have sworn that you saw Imelda notice the upset look on your face, but you decided to jab at your roast potatoes instead of looking at the Slytherin table any longer.
It was the bell to signal the end of class that shook you from your stupor. You had zoned out watching Sebastian, who blissfully hadn’t noticed the attention. Unfortunately for you, Imelda certainly had. She gave you a look that very clearly said that her thoughts from your earlier conversation hadn’t changed. Luckily, before she could say anything about it, Sebastian was ducking in the way.
“Imelda, Quidditch,” he said quickly, noticing he needed to head her off talking about something, even if he didn’t know what it was.
“What about it?” she asked, raising an eyebrow as she packed her belongings.
“Tryouts,” Sebastian said simply. “Want to know when they’re happening. Decided to finally try out.” When Imelda gave eyed him suspiciously, like she thought she was walking into a trap of some kind, he sighed and added, “I was told to do something more productive and sanctioned with my time.”
“You’re serious?” Imelda asked. “What position?”
“Beater. You need those, right?”
“We do,” she agreed. She glanced over at you, sighed, and then looked back to Sebastian. “I’m going down to the pitch before Potions if you want to practice before tryouts and I can give you tips to improve.”
You wanted to laugh. As much as Imelda probably wanted you and Sebastian alone together so you could confess the feelings you still wouldn’t admit to, her love of Quidditch won out. Secretly, you were thankful for it.
“Do you want to join us?” Sebastian asked hopefully, looking over at you. “Get a leg up on your Slytherin competition.”
“Hufflepuff still wouldn’t stand a chance,” Imelda pointed out, and you rolled your eyes.
“No, I’ve got Divination,” you told him, choosing to ignore Imelda’s teasing.
“You’re still taking that?”
You shrugged in response. “I like Professor Onai. Plus, someone has to keep Natty company,” you explained. “You two don’t get bloodied up too bad without me.”
“Don’t worry, if Sallow’s any good, his pretty face will stay pretty,” Imelda laughed, and you knew that she was trying to get a rise out of you. Sebastian, thankfully, seemed a bit preoccupied with the comment himself to notice the color rising in your cheeks. You excused yourself with the excuse of not wanting to be late to class before things could get any more awkward.
____
In the weeks after, you had seen more of Sebastian, and then suddenly a lot less. Unsurprisingly, he ended up making the Quidditch team. With the beginning of the Quidditch season coming up, Imelda had them practicing at all hours, meaning that her time to try and press the issue of your feelings for Sebastian was blissfully cut short.
Luckily, you could at least still spend time with other friends who either didn’t notice what Imelda had or at least had the grace not to press you about it. Without Sebastian around, you seemed to find Ominis on his own more, and the nice part about spending time with him was that he didn’t seem to give a damn about your romantic life nor did he want to divulge on his own the way Poppy and Adelaide had been as of late. You were happy for your friends, but the constant questions about your own because the two Hufflepuffs weren’t as well-versed in your emotions as Imelda was getting to be a little much.
“What do you think you’ll do once you graduate?”
Ominis had been talking about what his own plans were as the two of you walked toward Hogsmeade. The two of you were friends, sure, but more because you had a mutual friend than because you spent any significant time together before now. You were catching up on the more interesting things now that the two of you were spending time together without Sebastian.
“When we did career conversations with our Heads of House, I thought I wanted to work for the Ministry but something about it doesn’t feel right anymore,” you told him, stepping out of the way of a witch carrying a stack of books with a cauldron perched precariously on top. “Bit mad to expect a bunch of children to decide what to do with their lives just like that, you know?”
“You sound like Sebastian,” he pointed out, chuckling slightly. “Says he might not bother with curse-breaking at all now. Might want to play Quidditch professionally instead.”
“He hasn’t played in a single game,” you laughed. “The season doesn’t start for another week and he wants to be a professional now?”
“Apparently so.”
“I’m not sure I believe that.”
“Well,” Ominis started, “you can ask him all about it later. He’s meeting us here after practice–if Imelda’s left enough of the team.”
“I didn’t know he was coming,” you said casually, trying to ignore the excitement from the news and the slight feeling of dread. As much as you liked Imelda, you hoped she wouldn’t be joining because you weren’t ready for another round of heavy-handed comments about you and Sebastian.
“The second I said you and I were going to Hogsmeade, he said he was joining,” he explained, shrugging. “You haven’t seen much of him lately, have you?”
“Outside of classes? No,” you sighed. “He seems too busy for me these days.”
“What do you mean?”
“Oh,” you said, biting your lip.
You didn’t want to get into it with Ominis. He didn’t need to know how much it bugged you to see Sebastian at meal times, talking to the rest of the team or those girls that somehow always seemed to hang around him. He didn’t need to know how disappointed you were every time you couldn’t even get Sebastian’s attention to say hello, and when you did, half the time he was rushing off somewhere. You felt thoroughly left behind and the fact you cared so much about him made it hurt all that much more. The less Ominis knew about all of that, the better.
“He’s just been busy with Quidditch,” you replied finally, in too airy of a voice to be entirely convincing.
Thankfully, he let the topic of your mutual friend slide as you got into the village. You had needed to restock for Potions, and Ominis seemed uncharacteristically cheery in Honeydukes
and you didn’t have the heart to suggest going elsewhere when he wanted to explore. Leaving close to an hour later with your coin purses lighter but pockets heavier, you managed to get into and out of Gladrag’s with only the new scarf you had intended to buy before heading to the Three Broomsticks.
“There you two are!” Sebastian was sitting at a table in the corner, waving at the two of you. Your heart skipped at the look of the smile on his face, and you couldn’t help but smile back and wave to show that you spotted him.
“Would you mind grabbing the Butterbeers?” Ominis asked, turning towards the sound of Sebastian’s voice.
“Consider it done,” you told him, giving him a pat on the arm before heading to the bar. “Sirona! Can I get two Butterbeers?” She waved to show that she heard you, even as she was dealing with something else behind the bar. You looked around to see if there was other students in the pub, and you spotted a few younger Hufflepuffs and, a few tables over, Garreth Weasley and Everett Clopton discussing something on a piece of parchment in front of them. That was…dangerous.
The only other table of interest was the one you were heading to, and as you looked over at it, you saw Sebastian looking at you, still smiling. You smiled back, feeling a little silly at how easy it was for him to make you feel the way he did.
“It’s about time you two showed up,” Sirona commented as she slid two full glasses in front of you. You whipped around, giving her a confused look.
“What do you mean?”
“Sebastian’s been watching that door like his life depended on it,” she said. “Waiting for you.”
“Well, Ominis doesn’t come to the village often,” you pointed out, taking your drinks. “He was probably just worried about him and won’t admit it. Boys, you know.”
“Perhaps,” Sirona said, but the look on her face showed that she didn’t believe what you were saying. You pushed what you owed for the drinks toward her, and picked up the Butterbeer. She left it there, and you headed over to your friends. You placed Ominis’ drink in front of him before settling in the free seat.
“If we don’t win, I’m quitting,” Sebastian was telling Ominis.
“Already?” you asked, giving Sebastian an amused look.
“You have no idea what Imelda is like Captain,” he responded, shaking his head. “She woke us up before dawn this morning.”
“I feel like you knew what you were signing up for,” you laughed. “It’s not like it’s a surprise that Imelda is…intense.”
“But add a little power over people,” he sighed, “and you’ll be playing Quidditch every moment you’re not in class or asleep.”
“Just the way she likes it,” you pointed out, taking a sip of your drink. “I thought you wanted to play professionally?”
“Yeah but…” he trailed off. “When did I tell you that?”
“I told her before,” Ominis piped in. “She talks to you even less than I do. We compare notes,” he added dryly. You laughed at the comment. It was perfectly true. Sebastian and you would talk maybe for a minute before class or after, but Ominis at least saw him in the Slytherin Common Room. The two of you talked about other things, but the conversation would always turn to Sebastian at one point or another.
Sebastian frowned, but before he could say anything else about it, Ominis was talking about something else. For a while, Sebastian was uncharacteristically quiet as you two chatted about nothing in particular and drank your Butterbeers. Slowly, he became more himself, and you had to admit, it was nice to have what felt like the “old days” back again. It felt like you were back in the Undercroft, and not fighting for Sebastian’s attention.
Once all three glasses were empty, you stood up and scooped them into your arms. “I’ll go get us more,” you declared, smiling brightly. You didn’t want things to end just yet, so another round of drinks made the most sense. You had barely been up at the bar for a minute when your seat was taken by Violet McDowell. She had pulled the chair closer to Sebastian and was leaning so near him she might as well be in his lap, and Ominis was looking almost as annoyed as you were. Sirona said nothing about the look on your face other than a glance over to your table and a head shake.
Unable to carry all three drinks, you instead charmed the filled glasses to float in front of you as you headed back to the table. You let the three of them fall with more force than you meant to, causing loud thuds and Butterbeer to slop out over the rims and onto the table. Ominis, who couldn’t know that he should move back the way Sebastian had, got the brunt of the spill.
“I’m sorry,” you muttered, more to him than the other two. “Just got away from me.”
“Are you sure you don’t want to come back to the castle with me?” Violet was simpering, ignoring what had just happened. “You said you’d help me with my Charms work, Bas.” You almost snorted at the nickname but managed to cover it up with a cough.
“I’ll meet you back in the common room later,” Sebastian told her, “go ahead without me.” Violet pouted, and you had to bite the inside of your cheek and look away from her. She was certainly shameless.
“Fine! But you promised,” Violet huffed before getting up and heading out, ignoring the other two people at the table completely. Ominis was trying to clean up the spilled Butterbeer so he either didn’t notice or care about Violet’s departure.
“I’m going to wash up,” Ominis said, standing up and shaking his hands.
“I’m really sorry, Ominis,” you sighed, and he just shook his head.
“Accidents happen.” He disappeared upstairs, leaving you and Sebastian alone for the first time since before the summer holiday. You pulled your chair back to where it had been before Violet showed up and sat down.
Things were quiet between the two of you for a long moment. Both of you seemed more interested in your drinks than speaking, and neither one of you looked at the other. It was Sebastian who finally broke the silence.
“So…you’ve been spending a lot of time with Ominis lately,” he mentioned casually. You shrugged, looking over at him.
“I guess,” you agreed. “You and Imelda have been busy with Quidditch, so it’s just been the two of us.”
He nodded, taking a sip of his drink. “Is that the only reason?” he asked in the same casual voice, leaning forward as if he was expecting you to spill about some secret mission you and Ominis were planning. It was then that you realized that you hadn’t pulled the chair back all the way, and with your back facing the corner where the table was settled, Sebastian was boxing you in. If Sebastian had looked like he had grown before, close up, he looked to have doubled in size with him so closer now. He seemed almost impossibly broad now, and you felt nothing short of tiny in comparison. You looked up at him, confused, blushing slightly.
“Yes?” you said nervously. “Why would there be another reason?”
“Don’t know,” he responded, settling his arm on the table as he continued to lean towards you, resting his head against his hand. “I haven’t seen you much this year so I thought…” he started, but you cut him off.
“That’s not my fault, Sebastian,” you huffed. “You’re the one who doesn’t have any time for me anymore.”
“What are you talking about?” Sebastian looked taken aback at your words.
“You’re joking, right?” you said, leaning in a little closer as you stared him down. “You’ve barely said two words for me outside of class. You don’t bother to even say hi at meals anymore.”
“I haven’t seen you,” he explained, eyebrows furrowing. “I’m not doing it on purpose.”
“Of course, you haven’t seen me.” You rolled your eyes, frustration that had been bubbling finally coming to the surface. “You’re at practice or going to class or busy showing off for Violet and those other girls that follow you around.”
“I’m not showing off for Violet,” he shot back. “Or any of those other girls. I’m not asking them to do that!”
“And you’re not telling them to leave you alone either,” you pointed out, temper creeping into your voice. “You sure seem to be loving the attention every time I see you. Why would you bother looking up to say hi to me when you have…”
“What are you two talking about?”
Ominis had reappeared at the table. Sebastian slid back, no longer crowding you into the corner, looking annoyed.
“Nothing,” he told the other boy. He drained his entire Butterbeer before standing up. “I should head back to the Castle. Quidditch doesn’t leave much time for homework. I should catch up.” He didn’t bother waiting for either of you to say anything before starting to leave.
“Tell Violet we say hi, Bas.” The words were out of your mouth before you thought about it, and there was a small part of you that looked satisfied as a guilty look appeared on his face, but then replaced by a look of defiance.
“I’ll see you back at the common room, Ominis,” he said and was gone a moment later. You rolled your eyes, sitting back in your chair.
“What happened?”
“Nothing,” you sighed. You looked at your drink, not really wanting it anymore. “Can we go back to school? I…uh, I think we’re getting close to curfew.”
“Right,” Ominis agreed, nodding. “Floo powder is faster.”
“Works for me,” you sighed, letting him lead the way over to the fire.
_____
The first Quidditch match of the season had the entire castle beside itself. You couldn’t share in the enthusiasm-–even fellow Hufflepuffs were excited to see Ravenclaw vs Slytherin—because it meant having to see Sebastian out on the field. Even in classes over the last week, you determinedly avoided so much as looking at him. Imelda, blissfully, was too worked up about the game to notice.
In the end, you decided to go to support her.
It hadn’t been too bad. Most of the other Hufflepuffs you were sitting with were cheering for Ravenclaw, but you and Poppy were too excited for Imelda to join in. It certainly got you two some looks from people nearby, but the excitement of seeing her score twice in a row made it easy to ignore. Despite your annoyance with him, it was still something else to see Sebastian zip by, sending bludgers toward the Ravenclaw Chasers.
You weren’t any less glad when you two were waiting for Imelda to come out of the changing room that she was the last one out.
“Sallow went up with the rest of the team before,” she told you as you hugged her.
“I don’t care,” you huffed. “I was waiting for you.”
“Why don’t you care? Could have gotten to him before Violet McDowell did.”
“Why would you want to get Sebastian before Violet McDowell?” Poppy asked, looking between you and Imelda. You led the way back up towards the castle, your friends following behind.
“I don’t,” you responded, shaking your head.
“What happened?” Imelda asked. “He was strange when I mentioned you before too.”
“Nothing happened,” you said. “He’d rather spend time with Violet McDowell? Fine. I don’t care.”
“Why does it matter who Sebastian spends time with?” Poppy asked. Then, she stopped. “Oh, you fancy him, don’t you?”
“Not anymore I don’t,” you huffed. “Now can we just leave it be?” Poppy, who you two hadn’t stopped for, ran to catch up with you. Imelda just laughed.
“He might be big on reading, but Sallow is as thick as they come,” she chuckled. “Good riddance, I say. You’ll do much better.”
“I always thought you and Ominis were cute together,” Poppy offered.
“You know, he asked me if there was a reason the two of us were spending so much time alone together,” you half laughed, half scoffed.
“You’re joking,” Imelda laughed. “When did he come to you with that idea?”
“Met us in Hogsmeade last week. He and I got into an argument and I haven’t spoken to him since,” you explained.
“How did I miss this?” Imelda asked, and looked to Poppy. “Did you know about this?”
“No! I didn’t even know she fancied Sebastian,” she said, “no one tells me anything, apparently! All these times we’ve talked about who I fancy and…”
“I don’t fancy Sebastian,” you sighed. “At least, not anymore.”
“Are you sure?” she asked. “You two would be cute together too!”
“I don’t want to ever talk to him again,” you said shortly as the door to the castle swung open. “I also don’t want to talk about him anymore.”
“That’s right!” Imelda said brightly, “Outside of Quidditch, Sallow is nothing.” When you shot her a look, she shrugged. “He’s a good Beater, you have to admit. But outside of the pitch, won’t talk to him.”
“Am I still allowed to talk to him?” asked Poppy.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t you be?” you replied.
“Well, you aren’t and Imelda isn’t…” she trailed off, looking between the two of you.
“I’m just doing it because it’ll annoy him,” Imelda pointed out. “Sounds like fun, right?” You rolled your eyes, putting your hands up.
“Do whatever the two of you wish, but I am not getting involved. I’m going to the library,” you announced. “I have work to do that I ignored to come watch the game.”
“No fun!” Imelda called.
“What? It’s not like I can join the party anyway.”
“I’d sneak you in,” she offered. “What about you, Poppy?”
“No, I really should go check on…” she trailed off, pointing in the direction of the Beasts classroom.
“No fun, either of you.”
You laughed, waved your goodbyes and made your way upstairs. You were barely a few steps towards the library when a voice made you jump.
“You fancied Sebastian?”
You spun around to see Ominis nearby. Of course, he’d be in the castle. He probably wouldn’t have even gone down to the game, but leave it to him to be right there at exactly the wrong time.
“I…” you started, sighing heavily.
“That was why the two of you argued at The Three Broomsticks?” he guessed.
“No!” you exclaimed. “Not really, no. I mean…”
“You were annoyed about Violet McDowell and Sebastian leaving to go with her,” Ominous stated.
“How were you not?” you shot back, panicking slightly. He was right, of course, but something about Ominis knowing felt dangerous. You could trust Imelda not to say anything to Sebastian no matter how much she threatened to, but you couldn’t say the same of Ominis.
“Why didn’t you just tell him how you felt instead of arguing?”
“It’s not that easy, Ominis,” you sighed. “I really don’t want to talk about this. Not with you, no offense. But not anyone else either. Can you just…please don’t say anything about it.”
Ominis shrugged, and you knew that was the closest to a commitment that you’d get. “Does that mean you spend time with me to see him?” he asked quietly.
“No,” you replied quickly. “Merlin’s beard, Ominis. I’m not desperate for his attention like Violet is. We’ve been friends for years.”
“You’ve been friends with Sebastian, and I’ve been friends with Sebastian,” Ominis countered. “I didn’t think we were friends without him until recently.”
“Well, we are,” you stated. “At least I thought we were.”
“So did I,” he said.
“Then there, we’re friends, Ominis. Regardless of whether or not Sebastian is around,” you told him.
“Isn’t this the type of thing friends talk about?”
“I don’t know! Not always. It’s not like you go around telling me who you fancy,” you pointed out. He chuckled.
“I suppose not,” he agreed, nodding.
“Now, can we please never speak about this again?” you pleaded. “I get enough from Imelda and Poppy just found out and now I know I’m never going to hear the end of it. I just want one friend who doesn’t care about my love life.”
“I promise, we won’t speak of your love life.”
“Thank you, Ominis. I really appreciate it,” you told him, breathing a sigh of relief.
When the two of you parted ways a little while later, you certainly felt better about the fact that Ominis knew. You still couldn’t say for certain if he’d tell Sebastian or not. Their friendship was much longer than yours, but you at least hoped he’d take your desire to leave it alone into consideration.
The rest of the night was dedicated to you trying to forget about the last few hours and actually trying to get your homework done. The number of people in the common room was keeping you more on task for once. If you looked busy enough, everyone would leave you alone, and you didn’t have to speak to anyone. A few people stopped to say hi, but the fact you weren’t willing to more than glance up to greet them kept you in a mostly solitary corner.
Just when the common room was starting to clear out, and you were just about finished with your Charms work, when Poppy came through the entrance. You looked up when she called your name, holding your quill over the parchment.
“There you are!” Poppy sighed, pointing towards the door. “Sebastian’s waiting out there for you.”
“Sebastian is waiting for me,” you repeated, letting the ink drip onto your essay.
“He is,” she confirmed. “He tried to follow me in. I had to promise to come get you.”
“I really don’t want to talk to him right now, Poppy,” you half-whined. You had already had enough uncomfortable conversations about your feelings for one day, and something told you Sebastian wasn’t there to rehash the Quidditch match. Just when you had just about convinced yourself that Ominis was going to keep your conversation between you, Sebastian was attempting to break into the Hufflepuff Common Room.
“He really wants to talk to you,” she said, shifting on her feet.
“Fine,” you sighed, knowing that Poppy wasn’t going to tell him to go away. “He made you promise to get me to come out, didn’t he?” Poppy nodded, and you rolled your eyes, dropping his quill down. “I’ll go talk to him.”
“I’m sorry,” Poppy said quietly, and you offered her a tired smile.
“It’s not your fault,” you assured her. “I’m annoyed with him, not you. Can you take my stuff upstairs? Just leave it on my bed. Please?”
“Sure,” she said, looking relieved that you weren’t upset with her.
“Thanks, you’re the best,” you told her. You took a deep breath before heading for the door. You tried to mentally prepare for what was about to happen. Part of you wondered why Sebastian wanted to talk to you. Maybe make it perfectly clear that the only person he had feelings for was Violet or something.
When you stepped out into the hallway, it was to the sight of Sebastian pacing back and forth. He paused when you closed the door behind you. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, running his hand through his hair before sighing heavily.
“Sebastian, what–” you started, crossing your arms.
“I don’t fancy Violet McDowell,” he blurted out.
“What?”
“I don’t fancy her. That’s what you thought, isn’t it?”
“I can’t believe that Ominis told you,” you sighed, rubbing your face. The squirming you felt in the pit of your stomach was back.
“You talked to Ominis about this?” Sebastian asked, giving you a surprised look.
“Didn’t you?” you responded, staring back at him.
“No,” he said slowly. “He wasn’t in the common room when we got back from the match. I thought he was with you until he came back.”
“Then Imelda told you I fancy you,” you guessed. There was no other way he could have found out.
“Imelda knew…what am I talking about, of course, you talk to Imelda about this kind of thing,” Sebastian chuckled, running his hand through his hair again. “No, Imelda didn’t tell me either.”
“Then who told you?” you asked, the squirming getting worse. Sebastian looked at you, a satisfied look and a crooked smile on his face.
“You did,” he replied. “Just now.”
“What?”
“You just said you fancied me,” Sebastian said, amusement written all over his face. “I wanted to be the one to say it first, but you couldn’t let me.”
“I…what?” you muttered, voice quiet. The words were hitting your ears, but they weren’t making sense to your brain. You stared at him for a long moment, mouth still slightly open as he still had the same look on his face as he watched you process what he had a few moments before.
“You don’t fancy Violet,” you said slowly.
“I don’t,” Sebastian confirmed, chuckling. “I fancy you and you fancy me.”
“You do?”
“Course I do,” he replied, faltering for a moment before pulling you into a hug. The last time the two of you had hugged was to say goodbye at the end of last year, and you hadn’t been much shorter than he was. Now, though, he could easily tuck you under his chin. You managed to uncross your arms and wrap them around him, and he pulled you in closer. As small as he had made you feel at The Three Broomsticks, you were even smaller actually in his arms and you had to admit, it felt kind of nice.
“I’m sorry,” Sebastian told you. “About the whole…” he trailed off, sighing. “Fight? That was a fight, I think.”
“It doesn’t matter,” you chuckled, squeezing him before leaning back to look at him properly. “It was about something that didn’t actually happen.” You smiled up at him to show it was all water under the bridge and he smiled back, wider than ever. It wasn’t totally clear which of you made the first move, but then you were kissing and the feeling in your stomach was replaced with the butterflies that you’d felt for the last two years.
When the two of you broke apart, neither of you seemed particularly interested in letting go of each other. The thing that forced the two of you apart was the approaching footsteps of another Hufflepuff trying to get into the common room. Deciding you two needed somewhere more private, you took his hand and led him down the hallway.
“Where are we going?” Sebastian asked, squeezing your hand. However, he made no effort to let go of it, and instead just laced your fingers together.
“Undercroft,” you informed.
“Great idea,” he said. “Maybe we can talk about the match later.”
“If we have time,” you told him, rolling your eyes. “I think we’ll be a little busy. We have a month or two to catch up on, don’t you think?” He laughed, tugging you closer, and pressed a kiss to the top of your head as you walked.
“Definitely,” he agreed. The two of you were all smiles as you walked down the halls, and you were just glad the two of you were on the same page again. It was even better that the page you were on was one where you were the two of you were planning on spending significantly more alone time together from now on.

Tragic Accident
AKA the events that lead to the Human Connection series
Logan Howlett x Reader with injury related memory loss
Word count: 2.5K 3.8K after revisions
Author’s note: I do in fact have more! (I would like to thank this person for your patience, I started this when you sent this in but left it half done because of finals). Still inspired by Pandapetals’ memory loss fic. This is what led to the accident and when Logan actually saw the wreckage of an accident (because I apparently can’t just be content with being happy!). It’s kind of from his perspective? Still written in second person though.
Warnings: Major angst, stupid argument, car wreck, drunk driver (not Logan or the reader), reader refered to as she/her and Logan’s wife
Everything started in your home office. It was the busy season for teachers: checking that you taught the whole curriculum; assigning and then grading final projects; parent-teacher meetings. That night you were up grading group projects that had been turned in early. It was midnight when Logan walked into the room. It was one of many late nights you had recently. The two of you tended to be night owls anyways but this many nights without more than 4 hours of consecutive sleep was starting to get to you both. It wasn’t obvious but you could see it in the small details of your relationship. The way there was less exchanged affection. The way you helped each other with little things less. The way the physical space between you emphasized the growing separation. Logan had been laying in bed before he entered the office. He walked in and put his hands on your shoulders, maybe a little less gently than he normally would have.
“Babyy, why haven’t you come to bed yet?” You brought your hand up and softly rubbed his.
“Sorry hon, I just want to get these done tonight. This is the last one.”
“It can’t wait until tomorrow?” You spun your chair around to face him.
“It could.. But if I finish them as they come in, I’ll be done before finals week so I can spend more time with you!”
“You could spend more time with me now if you just came to bed-”
“I know, I know. But these kids finished it early, they’re already on pins and needles waiting for an answer, I shouldn’t make them wait longer than I need to. And you should be asleep already anyways, this was the one night this week you can actually get to bed at a decent time.”
“Tried. It’s always harder without you.” You stood up and brushed a hand through his hair.
“Poor baby. It won’t be much longer. I’ll be there soon, I promise.”
“I’ll just stay in here with you then.”
He walked over to his own desk and sat down across from you, watching as you finished grading. It was 10 minutes before Logan spoke up again.
“You almost done?”
You sigh and run your hands through your hair.
“Nope, not quite. Go to bed, I’ll only be a little longer.”
“I.. Yeah alright.”
He shook his head then got up and walked out. His jaw was tense as he paused at the door like he was going to say something. Apparently he decided against it and closed the door on the way out with a sigh.
He lays in bed. Staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. Logan had felt neglected before, just not usually by you. He was plenty used to being ignored or abandoned. It had happened before but this time was supposed to be different. You’d always been there before. You’d been through so much together. It was only now it felt like you were drifting away. You’re a busy person, he knows that. You’re always eager to help out in any way you can. From one-on-one training or tutoring with struggling students to filling in for a fellow teacher. You were always there for everyone else. But now it seemed to him that you were giving your time to anyone but him. It seemed like you were trying to avoid him. He thought back to the last few weeks. He’d twice tried to set up a date night with no success, the most recent attempt was the week prior.
He had caught you in between classes, preparing for the next lecture in an empty room.
“Heyy, I was thinking. It’s been a while: do you want to go out tonight?”
“I wish I could but I’m helping Jean tonight, some lab thing she’s trying to figure out. I’m honestly flattered she asked me-” You stopped yourself when you saw the look on his face, his eyes now avoiding yours as he pretended to study the ground. “I’m sorry Lo, I thought I told you on Monday.”
“No- it’s alright. I understand.. I’ll see you later though?”
“Yes. She said that she shouldn’t need me past 8 o’clock.”
You walked in the door at ten.
“Hey,” Logan said half heartedly from the couch as you came up the stairs. He didn’t know how late you’d be until you called at nine to tell him that things went well enough that Jean wanted to repeat the experiment to see if it was a fluke.
“Hey.. I’m sorry, I know I said I’d be home sooner. I’ll make it up to you.” You cupped his face and kissed the bridge of his nose. “We could go out this weekend?”
“No, I’m helping Scott fix his bike; and with Scott, that’ll be an all weekend project.”
“Next weekend then. We’ll find time. We always do.” Your tone was very matter-of-fact as you sat down next to him. He put an arm around your shoulders and you nuzzled into his chest as you leaned into him.
“Yeah. I know. I just hate feeling like I never see you anymore. I know you didn’t know that was going to happen but you could have waited to rerun everything on a different night..”
“Yeah.. I guess we’re just too popular” You said, trying to joke about the situation to relieve some of the tension between you. It worked for the time but Logan still didn’t feel good about it. He felt like you just pushed aside his feelings. Just laughing it off to avoid an actual conversation.
The thought brought him back to the present moment. He went back into the office, unsure of exactly how much time had passed since he left. He walked around to his side, sat at his desk and faced you. You looked up from what you were doing but he spoke before you could.
“It feels like we never just spend time together anymore and I want to talk about it.” You push your work aside and turn to face him more directly. He leans forward with his forearms on his desk.
“I only have one section left to read then leaving overall feedback. Can we talk about it tomorrow?”
“No, you always do this. I want to talk about it. I don’t want you to keep pushing me aside. What happened with us? Why do you spend your time everywhere else but with me?!”
“Logan I-”
“No, I know you care about your students but you don’t even look at me anymore.”
“Okay.. A bit of an exaggeration but yeah, I mean that’s the job. Come on, you’re a grown up. I thought you could handle a little less attention than what you’re used to.”
“You can just say it. I’m the least important thing in your life.”
“Oh don’t be dramatic. You’re still impor-”
His hand loudly hit the desk, making you jump.
“Stop doing that! Stop brushing me off!” He sighed and looked away. “Fuck- Ok, I just- Whatever, I’ll be in the kitchen.” He stood up and walked out. You didn’t try to stop him.
You put your face in your hands. You could admit, things had been stressful lately. Things had just been busy. Apparently after five years of being married, you had been putting Logan on the backburner more than you thought. But he had done the same with you hadn’t he? That’s just how it was sometimes. Why was he so upset about it this time? What changed? After a few minutes of letting him cool down, you sighed and got up to follow him to the kitchen. The only light in the open room was the soft glow of the hanging kitchen lights. He was sitting at the table with his hand in his hair. He looked up as you walked in.
“You always push me aside for everything else.” You came to apologize but now that felt more difficult than anything. Something about the way he said it gave you the urge to defend yourself. Maybe it was pride, maybe it was a lack of sleep. Either way, you pushed back.
“You act like I purposefully ignore you-”
“Sometimes, I wonder if you do!”
“Okay don’t put this all on me. We’re both busy. That’s just how it is right now, I don’t know why you have a problem with it all of the sudden.”
“You don’t know?! You don’t know because you never listen to me.”
“Oh I never listen to you?”
“Yes. I listen to you, I-”
“No no no no no. If you listened to me, you’d already know when I’m not going to be home. Because I actually make plans before the night of.”
“This again? I swear you never told me-”
“Whatever- that’s not going to get us anywhere. If you really want to talk, let’s talk about how you can be as busy with your students as you’d like but as soon as I do, then it’s a problem.”
“That’s not true!”
“Sure it is! But you’re a man, you can meet up with whoever you want. You know, I’m a woman so I should just be grateful that you let me have a job at all, right?”
“Why are you making this a sexism thing? When have I ever said anything like that to you?”
“You haven’t, but-”
“Exactly. I haven’t. Because I don’t think like that. Just because that was okay when I was growing up, doesn’t mean I’m like that. You know I’m not like that!”
“I thought so but sometimes, I’m not so sure.”
“And you don’t bring that up? You know you can talk to me- I’m not like you, I’m not just going to keep putting it off so we never talk about something you have a problem with.”
“When the hell have you brought up any of this before tonight?”
“I haven’t had the chance to because anytime there’s even a hint of a problem you just make it into a joke.”
“I didn’t realize I was doing that, maybe if you brought things up when they happened then we wouldn’t need to get to this point!”
“Yeah it’s all my fault, like everything else.”
“Oh, really defending your argument there- I’m so glad we didn’t wait to talk!” You started to pace around the area next to where he stayed seated. Walking between the table where he was and the counter off to his left.
“That is not fair. If we put it off again we would never have this conversation.. And this isn’t just about me ‘not getting attention,’ this is about you. This isn’t good for you. You need to get more sleep.”
“Oh but you’re just fine going without sleep, you’re the mighty Wolverine.”
“That’s not- No! Actually- Fine, you’re right. I am the wolverine, you don’t have the same mutation-”
“Maybe it doesn’t affect you as much, but it sure as hell still affects you. You’re still a human being Logan! I know my limits, you don’t need to hover, telling me to come to bed- It’s just a reminder of how slow I am- And it completely throws me off-”
“Don’t act like I’m not allowed to worry about you-”
“You’re allowed to worry, but that doesn't mean I’ll have any less-”
“Would you stop cutting me off?” He shouted the words through half gritted teeth. You took a step back. Logan never shouted at you, he barely ever raised his voice when you had disagreements. Your eyes flashed to the floor to avoid the intensity of his gaze.
“S-sorry.”
“I just-” He said your name quietly under breath and a hand went up to squeeze the bridge of his nose. “I just want to be how we were. I just want some of your time. I at least want you to pretend like you like me.”
“I do like you.” Your muscles that tense when he shouted had now relaxed and you could hear a nip of attitude in your own voice.
“But you don’t act like it! Not anymore at least. You act like me being in your life is an inconvenience.” His voice was consistently raised now. You let out a small laugh.
“God, you are so dramatic! Please get some sleep, you’re acting like a child who hasn’t had a nap. You’re worse than half the freshman students right now.”
“For fucks sake, would you just listen to what I’m saying for a minute? Actually listen and process what I’m saying. Why can’t you just take me seriously?!”
“Because I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“JUST TALK TO ME”
He stood up and yelled the phrase louder than he meant to. Again, you took a few steps back. His large frame still intimidatingly towered over you.
“That- that’s all I want from you! A real conversation.”
You start walking back to the bedroom. Logan tried to follow you.
“I need some space-” Logan stopped.
“Yeah, go. Keep avoiding me.” You sighed but kept walking into the bedroom. You grabbed your phone, keys, and wallet, putting them into a mostly empty messenger bag that was currently easier to get to than a purse. You threw on a jacket then left your bedroom. You walked past your husband in the kitchen.
“We both need to cool off. I’m going to stay at the school tonight.”
“Fine, go.”
“Good night”
“.. Night.”
Right before heading out the door; keys in one hand, the other on the doorknob. You sigh and turn around then walk back to him. He’s leaning on the kitchen counter, facing away from you.
“Hey,” he turns around.
You hit his chest lightly before grabbing the collar of his shirt and kissing him forcefully. You kept your eyes closed and your face close to his as you spoke.
“You are so frustrating.”
“I know.. Try talking to you.” You sighed quietly.
“..I love you”
“I.. I know.” A little sadder that time. He held onto the counter that was now behind him to keep himself from giving in to you. You kissed him again, much more softly this time.
“Drive safe..” He whispered as you pulled away. You nodded and left.
Hearing the sounds of the garage door open then shut was enough to make him start feeling guilty for not saying ‘I love you’ back. You were fighting, sure, but he did still love you.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
Logan went to bed but he couldn’t sleep. He tossed and turned for almost an hour, listening to the soft taps of rain on the window until his phone rang. He answered it without looking, confident that you must be calling to talk or to apologize.
“What? Calling to apologize-” Annoyance dripping from tone.
“Sir, I’m a paramedic. Is this Logan Howlett?” He was caught off guard.
“What? Yes, yes that’s me. Why are you calling?” He sat up, a sense of dread creeping in.
“I’m with your wife right now, your information was in her wallet-”
The paramedic explains that you were in an accident and you’re going to be taken to a nearby hospital. You’re unconscious but they’re working on stabilizing you. He explains that as soon as you get there you’ll be taken to surgery.
“Most likely she’ll be in for a few hours and even when she’s out, it’ll still be a while before the anesthetic wears off. I know you’re freaking out right now but- Listen man, if it were me; I’d take a minute to process everything. Pack a bag: comfortable clothes, a book, crossword puzzles- just things that’ll make her comfortable while she has to stay there to be monitored. It’ll give you a sense of purpose, because you can’t do anything right now anyways, and it keeps you from having to leave her later when she is awake.”
“Yeah. Yeah alright. I’ll do that” They exchanged the remaining information then hung up. As he was doing what the paramedic instructed when he got another call. This was from the police. He was informed that he could come to the scene and retrieve anything valuable from the car before it was towed. It had been moved into a nearby church parking lot for the time being, that’s where he was told to go.
“Do you know what caused the accident? What happened?”
“Yeah, the other guy ran a red light. Didn’t even slow down. Because of the angle of the intersection and how fast he was going, she probably didn’t even see him until after the collision. He’s been arrested already, we’re waiting until he sobers up to ask him more about what happened, he wasn’t very intelligible. We know he was drinking but by the way he’s acting we think he’s on something else too.”
“Jesus..”
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
He pulled into the small parking lot, marked by a sign stating there was an extra church service for Easter that had yet to be taken down. There he saw another truck. It was black and lifted and had more than a few dents that were clearly from screwing around rather than actual work. The front was basically caved in but the damage was minor, especially compared to what your car looked like. It was almost half of the size it used to be, completely crushed in on the drivers side.
“She’s lucky, you know.” Logan looked up, searching for the source of the voice through the pouring rain. A firefighter walks over.
“Usually people don’t survive accidents like this but the collusion happened more towards the back.. You’re family, right?”
“Uh yeah,” He held up his left hand, “Husband.”
“Yeahhh. Don’t worry about her. Her chances are looking good right now.”
“There’s more blood than I thought there would be.” He could smell it when he pulled up but getting this close he could see that it was yours; the other driver hadn’t been injured nearly as bad. He was hating his heightened senses that made it feel like the smell of iron was surrounding him.
“Oh yeah, there was a lot more in the street before the rain washed most of it away.” Logan looked increasingly nervous.
“So you came to get things from the vehicle?”
“Y-yeah.”
“Well there’s a lot of broken glass so if you need me or my colleagues to grab anything, just let us know.”
“No, I’ll be alright. Thanks.”
“No problem. We’ll just be talking with the officers if you change your mind.”
He got closer to your car, or what was left of it. Your keys had been pulled out of the ignition but were sitting on the dashboard. He picked them up and tried to ignore the blood and focus on where you usually leave things.
“Glove box, everybody keeps things in the glove box.” he thought aloud, quietly.
He walked around to the passengers side. Upon opening the door he saw your bag on the floor, sitting upright. Your phone and wallet were still inside although your ID and emergency sheet were separate. He assumed the first responders had opened your wallet to find such information. Logan picked up the bag and opened the glove box. He took everything out, placing it into the bag. Lucky for him, you didn’t keep much in your car. He took down the stuffed animal you kept on your dashboard and grabbed your blanket from the trunk. He threw the few other things you kept in your car into your bag then went to his own vehicle. An officer stopped him to talk to him about more details but his mind was only on you. None of the other details mattered if you weren’t okay.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
The drive to the hospital was silent. His thoughts were distracting enough. Logan felt like the drive was twice as long as it should have been. It felt like he was holding his breath the whole drive. He spoke quietly, trying to comfort himself.
“She’s going to be okay. She is tough. Fuck, of course she’s tough, look at who she married. Look at who she agreed to put up with..” His fists tightened around the steering wheel.
He pulled into the hospital’s visitors parking lot. He tried to steady his breathing before grabbing the backpack the paramedic recommended packing and heading inside. He didn’t even remember talking to the receptionist who told him which floor to go to for the right waiting room. But here he sat. Bouncing his leg anxiously. Waiting for you to get out of surgery. It was longer than he thought it’d take but eventually, a nurse came to talk to him.
You were out of surgery but you would still remain asleep, they were putting you in a medically-induced coma. There was too much trauma to the brain and this was the best option. They said you wouldn’t be under for longer than a week and offered to call him before waking you up but he insisted on staying by your side. The staff was admittedly concerned for him, he almost never slept. He just sat beside you. Waiting.
After almost four days, the tests suggested that they could stop the drugs inducing the coma. Your levels and brain activity showed that it was safe to do so. They warned him there would be side-effects from it and temporary memory loss was a possibility. Among other things. What they didn’t prepare him for was the time between stopping the drugs and you waking up. For some patients it was almost instantly. For you it was several hours.
The moment they stopped your IV drip to the moment you were conscious again, he didn’t let go of your hand. After the first hour he had resorted to quietly begging you to wake up, asking you not to leave him like this. As you woke up, that’s what you heard.
“-and I won’t complain about your stupidly long hours. Please. I’m sorry. Please wake up.” He called you a nickname you hadn’t heard before. Or at least one you didn’t remember. “Please- I know I’m dumb, I need you to wake up. I need you to know how sorry I am. And- and I never should have let you leave the house without telling you how much I loved you. I was upset and I wasn’t thinking. Please. I’m so sorry.”
As you woke up, your eyes fluttered open and you tried to get familiar with your surroundings. When you made a noise and moved your hand, Logan looked up at you in surprise. He jumped up from where he sat to gently hug you and tell you how much he loved you. He pressed the button for the nurse, as he had been instructed to. From there, he found out about your memory. You found out about the accident. You were both disappointed and a little scared. Logan has an overwhelming sense of guilt about what happened and you don’t even know what happened or if he played a role in it. In an ironic twist, he'd finally get to spend more time with you. Just not in a way he ever would have wanted.

Second author's note: sorry if the argument isn't great, uhh definitely looking for feedback for improvement there. I was trying to make it both characters fault but idk. Also first attempt at a mood board for the fic. Idk if I like it, I may take it down, we'll see.
Okay it's been revised. I think it is a significant improvement but it's still no where near perfect. Stayed up until 6am making revisions because apparently, I'm allergic to sleep! And also joy as jt seems! But no rest for the wicked I guess: I have my immunology final project due in 8 hours and it is been severely neglected. Anyways thanks for your time... again I guess for some of you.

We love teacher!character/Teacher's Assistant!character x reader, so let's hear your thoughts on teacher!reader/TA!reader x student!character
(cw: yandere, slight nsfw, forced pregnancy/baby-trapping, pregnancy, stalking, one-sided teacher-student relationship)
Azul who knocks up his professor during one of the times he’s visiting for office hours. It’s something regarding a scholarship opportunity or maybe he’s talking to you about a career path he’s thinking of pursuing. Whatever the case, he’s so infatuated with you. He’s at the top of your class, always excelling in everything he does. He’s a model student, so intelligent and on top of his academics. He’s always bringing you coffee each morning. Some say it’s to get within your good graces. When you take the coffee from him, you think nothing of it. But then you’re losing the feeling in your limbs and you feel so sleepy and weak and so strangely insatiable… Azul smiles at you, asks, “Is everything all right, Professor?” You can’t even answer, but maybe you don’t have to when he’s unbuckling his belt, the door now shut and locked tight. He has you right where he wants you. :)
Or the twins tormenting you beyond the campus. You’ve always been so good to them, their cute, diligent professor. Floyd didn’t mean to scare you when he broke into your home late at night, and Jade only wishes to cook you a nice dinner. After all, they have to return the favor for when you brought them meals when they were “struggling” to get by (or so you thought; they’re liars, those eels…).
Riddle who’s taken to stalking his professor. He’s not sure what compels him to do it. He finds a certain intimacy in knowing you beyond the classroom. He’s bad at taking covert photos of you because his hands are always shaking, but even if he’s managed to get one clear photo of your face that’s all that matters. He looks up your professor profile on his university’s website and masturbates to the profile picture of you in professional wear and smiling so kindly. He’s down so bad. >_< he signs up for all of your classes even if they have nothing to do with his major.
Idia who’s hacked into your phone and laptop to watch you from the comfort of his room. He’s seen you at your most intimate, and he always makes sure to take plenty of video and audio recordings for his own enjoyment. He may or may not occasionally make lewd sketches of you just to fulfill his own fantasies. He might even look for hentai characters that remind him of you so he can pretend it’s you getting railed by tentacles or a monster-sized sex toy. If he catches you with a partner while stalking you, the illusion of fantasy shatters and he becomes quite upset. How dare you like someone else?
Silver is such a sweet, honest student, so it’s quite shocking to think he could ever harbor such an intense obsession. Even Silver doesn’t realize just how badly he loves you until he’s following you from a distance just to make sure you make it home safely. He does everything for the sake of your well-being, even if it falls under a rather dubious umbrella. Silver dreams of you often, and every time he wakes from such good dreams he’s disheartened to find it isn’t reality. Oh, how he wishes he could fuck you and fall asleep with his dick still inside you, keeping you plugged full of his cum… :( one day it’ll be a reality. Hopefully. Until then, he’ll watch you from afar.

I mean technically they have whatever you have but we’ve decided that they’re all lowkey their own people so…. this ended up being less about kinks and more about what they like their men to do? idk.
a few that come to mind:
Duchess: I don’t know if it counts as a kink or not, but she and Brennan have “christened” multiple rooms in Riorson house. especially the office that I’ve decided he has. they mess around there more often than in their actual bedroom. lots of potential there — one person kneeling in front of the chair, or him bending her over the desk…
Angel: how can you date Garrick and *not* have a size difference / strength difference kink. he’s a giant. him towering over you, being so broad and strong… that has perks between the sheets. she likes the displays of strength from him — him pinning her down (lovingly), manhandling her a little to change positions, etc. she trusts him 100%, which is what makes it work.
I’m not saying that Love is a pillow princess, but she’s not usually the one doing the work. she doesn’t chase, she attracts, and she knows her worth. 😌 but she is very much still in charge. she wants her boy to beg to touch her. she’ll say yes every time, but he still needs to ask her nicely, and thank her afterward, like a good boy.
Darling is a tough one. we know Bodhi basically wants to worship her every time, because he’s obsessed with her, but I could see it going both ways, too. they’re just so in love, and they want to show it to each other physically with all the kisses and gentle touches and sweet words. but as far as kinks… overstimulation, maybe. and some really drawn-out teasing — until the other person is desperate enough to beg, or to drag them away to deal with it. it’s usually Bo being teased. he gets so cute and pouty when he’s needy.
Spark… idk. she’s a little fragile deep down, despite that tough exterior, so she needs to be held gently. nothing too crazy is happening there. just some gentle loving touches, that she feels like she doesn’t deserve, poor girl. so Liam giving her praise or words of affirmation would be nice. maybe some soft kisses over her scars, too. I know those aren’t really kinks, but it’s what she needs, so…
Peach is a tiny bit devious, as you will see… someday. she’s the one dragging Sawyer away for shenanigans, not the other way around. he’s always down for it, of course. he wants to be wanted, and knowing she’s keyed up is enough to get him going. I could also see her being into the strength difference— Sawyer isn’t the strongest guy in the quadrant, but compared to us regular people, he’s definitely winning the play-fight.
yes, Sweetheart reads, and there’s plenty of things she’d like to try from various books, but she is incredibly shy and likely very inexperienced. she’d never bring it up to Ridoc — he’s gonna have to figure it out himself. but I don’t see her and Rid doing much until Onyx Storm or beyond. apologies to the Ridoc fuckers 😔✊
similarly, I haven’t even begun to write Aaric and Sunny doing anything more than holding hands. they’re gonna be a slow burn for sure. she’d need to really trust someone before doing anything intimate with them, and when that finally does happen, she needs some sense of control so she doesn’t feel like she’s being used. this is hard to explain, but iykyk.

A/N: 2 of 2 entries for @imagining-in-the-margins Criminal Minds Autumn Air Challenge. No art this time (crying), I’m so swamped with grad school, that I don’t have the time. This is also my first Luke fic YAY!
Also available on AO3
I was hyper focused on the report in front of me, intent on not making another spelling mistake lest I lose my mind. Dave and Emily were holed up in their respective offices, while Tara, Spencer, JJ, Luke, and myself caught up on reports after flying in from solving a case the previous evening. I could hear Luke’s impatient movements from the desk next to me, having been too engrossed in his own report to stand up in a while. I could feel it driving him crazy.
With an obnoxious groan, he let his pen clatter to on the desk and pushed himself away in his chair.
“Coffee anyone?” He asked as he stood up, looking around the room hoping to meet a friendly face but no one looked up.
“I’ll take one,” I answered, not looking up either so I could focus on finishing this last line.
Luke disappeared for a few minutes before coming back with two mugs, placing one on my desk.
“Thanks, Luke,” I finally let myself come up for air, looking up at him with a grateful smile as I picked up the mug.
One of the many benefits to dating him was that I didn’t even have to tell him how I wanted the coffee, not that I doubted we all had each other’s orders memorized by now. I looked at him expectantly as he didn’t go back to his desk right away; mid sip as he sat on the edge of my desk.
I gave him a warning glare to not fuck with anything on my desk but also to not give us away, even if JJ and Spencer had been suspicious for a while.
“Hmm?” I hummed while contently drinking my coffee.
“You busy this weekend?” He whispered, though I didn’t miss the minuscule tilt of Spencer’s head in our direction.
You’d swear the man didn’t have a cell phone in his pocket with the ability to text.
“Not unless we get a case, why?” I answered, leaning back into my chair.
“Well, Emily said we’re not on call this weekend, so…,” Luke trailed off.
I raised my eyebrows, thinking about slamming his kneecaps with something knowing full well he was feeding into their conspiracy theories.
“Roxy wants to go apple picking with you because she misses you,” he finally said with an innocent smile.
“Roxy, huh?”
“Mhm.”
“She really said that?” I asked, fighting the grin threatening the corners of my mouth.
“Word for word,” Luke nodded, taking a gulp of his coffee. “I know, I was surprised, too.”
“Well, for Roxy, I guess I can make some time,” I nod and put my mug on my desk. “Now, go away,” I shoo him off my desk, nudging his very firm thigh with the back of my hand.
Luke gives me a teasing grin, before finally moving back to his own desk.
--
I rolled over, feeling the sheets still warm but annoyingly empty. Grumbling, I lifted my head and heard rummaging in the bathroom, so I let my head flop back down into my pillow. Roxy had laid patiently throughout the night at the foot of the bed, avoiding both of our wild kicking while we slept. I wasn’t alone long, hearing the bathroom door swing open and seeing Luke's half-naked frame taking up the doorway.
Luke slid between the sheets, taking a deep breath as he buried his scruffy face in my neck.
“It’s a little too chilly,” he snuggled deeper into the blankets and me.
“That’s what happens when you get up at 0530, you sick freak.”
“I had to go to the bathroom, baby,” he pouted.
I quickly kissed him and cuddled closer to him, rubbing my cheeks along his facial hair.
“Place doesn’t open until 9, I think?” He pursed his lips, pressing a kiss to my jaw and down to my neck.
“9? That’s plenty of time for…” I trailed off as his mouth on my neck distracted me.
“…activities?” he grinned, pressing his hips against mine.
“At least kick Roxy out before she watches me defile her father.”
--
The morning was still brisk as we arrived at the apple orchard, bundled in sweaters and jeans with Roxy in tow. She didn’t exactly need a leash, but Luke followed the orchard’s rules. Plus, he knew better than to trust other people to behave.
I found Luke’s free hand as we strolled and gripped it, leaning into his shoulder while we browsed the apple trees. I was carrying our basket, and the orchard had provided Roxy with a much smaller one for her mouth. I used every little gust of wind as an excuse to stay plastered to Luke’s side, enjoying how much of a heater he could be once he’d eaten breakfast.
We chose apples at our leisure, not getting too many in case any upcoming cases would ruin our produce. Roxy sniffed out a few good ones for her own basket and happily trotted along with her findings.
“Ooh, look at that one up there!” I paused our walking as I looked up at the tree in front of me.
I pointed to one near the top, nothing either of us could reach even if we jumped.
“It sure looks good,” he sighed.
Resigning to the fact that it was out of reach, Luke turned to keep walking, but I didn’t budge. With my arm looped around his, I stood my ground and watched as he looked back at me with hesitation, fear, and a little bit of curiosity.
“I need it,” I smiled, taking the basket off my arm and thrusting it into his arms. “Be right back.”
“Uh, I don’t think we’re allowed to climb the trees, babe.”
We definitely weren’t allowed to. The signs were very specific:
Children under 13 must be supervised.
Dogs must be on a leash.
Do not climb the trees.
Roxy looked like she wanted to bark but looked up at Luke instead. She thought better of it and let out a little whine as I started my ascent.
“It’ll only be a few seconds. Just tell them it’s official FBI business or whatever,” I winked, navigating the trunk upward.
“Yea but—”
“Why are you riding my ass in a not-so-enjoyable way?” I grunted as I lifted myself onto the main branch.
Luke sighed heavily, looking around to make sure no one was coming to kick them out, “This is what I get for dating a retired Marine.”
“I’ll make sure to tell Dave you said that!” I shouted down.
“Yea? You’re gonna tell him about the dating part, too?”
“No, just the part where you called us dumb.”
“I did not say that.”
“You insinuated it,” I snarked back with all the sarcasm of friendly Marine versus Army banter. With one final grunt as I reached for the apple and picked it, I proudly presented the apple, “Got it!”
“Great, now please get down,” Luke stood exasperated with his hands on his hips and Roxy sitting patiently at his side.
I used my free hand to hook around the branch and hold my weight as I swung down. It was as effortless as every obstacle I’ve ever completed during both my military and FBI careers. Well, except for my sweater snagging on the bark just before I let go. I swung out a bit too far, the fabric of my sleeve catching briefly and snapping once my weight flung too far forward. It wasn’t a far fall, but my heels slipped out from under me while I flailed my arms. Gravity sat me firmly on my ass and lower back, making me grateful we had been walking in dirt.
Luke and Roxy both looked down at me, deciding whether to leave me to my own devices or help me up. Finally, Roxy stomped her front paws and gave me an impatient whine and growl. Luke chuckled, giving her a quick pat on the head and extended his hand to help me up.
“That was some pretty instant karma,” Luke tried to hold in a snort, brushing the dirt off my back.
“Yea, well I’m not letting you taste this one.”
“Oh no, I’m sure it won’t taste like the other ten we have,” he rolled his eyes as I put the apple in the basket and snatched it from his hands. “Let’s go before they kick me out for letting you run around unsupervised,” Luke laced his fingers with mine and started leading us back toward the entrance.
Embarking on the short walk back, I had barely let the side of my head drop to Luke’s shoulder when I shot my head up again.
“Oh! We should go look at pumpkins next!” I gasped, tugging his arm as I sped my steps up.
“Absolutely, not. You’re officially banished from produce this season.”

Fat Gum x reader - perfect to me
If you want, could you please do Fat Gum x reader. Where the reader feels self conscious about their weight, and begins to skip meals (if you want to write about that) only for FG to stop them and makes them feel better about their weight. - Anon💜
TW: mentions of meal skipping
The favourite part of the day for the pro hero was coming home to you making something for dinner.
Usually you finished work first, and providing that he didn’t have to stay and do extra work for any reason, he was always home around the same time each evening.
Today was no different, as fat gum got home, the smell of whatever you were making for dinner drifted through the air, and he grinned to himself, making his way inside.
He first went to the kitchen, seeing you standing by the stove in one of his very large hoodies that drowned your form.
“As always you’re cooking smells amazing!” He beamed.
You smiled, laughing softly as you turned around, holding your arms out to him.
Walking over, your boyfriend swept you into a hug, and you laughed even more, wrapping your arms around his neck the best you could.
One of your favourite things about his quirk was how huggable it made him, and you wondered if that’s why everybody else loved him as well.
But you did notice a slight change in how you were able to hug him, and you frowned a little bit.
“Did you have a hard day?” You asked.
Fat gum chuckled a little bit, carefully setting you back down on the ground.
“I got a little beat up, but it’s alright because the villains were no match for me!”
“Were you hurt? Are you okay?”
Fat Gum smiled softly at you, placing his hands on the side of your face.
“I’m okay sweets, really, I didn’t even feel it.”
You frowned a little bit but you nodded your head.
He gave you a gentle smile, leaning down to kiss your forehead, then he stood back up.
“I’ll be right back, you sit down and relax, I can do the rest!”
He wondered away, and you went back to cooking dinner, tugging at the hoodie a little bit now that he was gone.
You didn’t want him to pick up on what you were doing, so you had to wait for him to leave, and despite the fact his hoodie pretty much covered you from head to toe, you felt like it was still too tight.
Sighing to yourself, you leant against the counter as you pulled out a couple of plates and bowls, setting them on the side.
Fat gum wondered back in, and he gently placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Hey, I said relax, I’ve got this, you’ve been working all day.”
“So have you.” You responded.
“I’ve been sitting in my office all day, you’ve been all over the place, you need to take care of yourself and make sure you get plenty of rest.”
You knew he wasn’t going to give up, so you nodded, stepping aside.
He liked looking after you, when he was home he did pretty much everything you normally would when he was away, from the cooking to the cleaning, he did it all for you.
Walking over to the living room, you sat on the couch, picking up your laptop from the table so you could focus on a presentation you had for work.
While you were doing that, you could hear the sounds of food being plated up, being set on the table in front of you.
“There you go, eat up!” He beamed.
Fat Gum sat down with his own food, starting to eat when he noticed you didn’t pick up your bowl.
“Sweets?” He asked.
You hummed a little, glancing over at him before turning back to your laptop.
“Your foods going to get cold.”
“Oh, that’s all for you. I had something a little earlier because I’ve got to finish this presentation for tonight.”
“You cooked all this for me?” He asked.
You nodded your head, giving him a warm smile.
“Yeah, I know you’ve been dealing with a lot of villains, so I want to make sure you’re quirk is fully ready just in case, plus I needed a break from work and I noticed you’d be home soon.”
While Fat Gum was eating, you resting comfortably against his side, and when he finished he wrapped an arm around you, letting your work peacefully.
He thought it was a one off, but he began to notice that you would claim to have already eaten more.
He would come home and you’d be making his dinner, then go off to do your own thing while he ate.
And then you began to wear is hoodies and shirts a lot more around the house as well, sometimes tugging at them.
After the third night in a row of you not eating with him he set his food down, and you looked up from your book a little confused.
“What’s wrong?” You asked.
“Come here sweets.”
He held his arms out, and you got up from the warm spot on the windowsill you were sat on, making your way over.
Fat Gum swept you into his arms, resting you in his lap, looking down at you with concern.
“Why aren’t you eating?” He asked.
“I’ve already eaten.”
He shook his head.
“No you haven’t, I know you haven’t been eating properly and I’m worried about you. It’s not like you not to eat with me.”
You sighed softly.
“I promise I’m okay.”
He stood up, you still in his arms and he carried you to the bathroom, setting you down in front of the mirror, placing his hands on your shoulders.
“Do you know what I see when I look at you?” He asked.
You shook your head.
“I see the embodiment of the word perfect, in every sense of the word that it could ever be used for! I see the most beautiful person I’ve ever laid eyes on, with the most beautiful and kindest heart.”
Fat Guy grinned a little bit.
“I see the person I want to spend my whole life with!”
Then his smile fell, turning into a frown as he turned you to look at him.
“I also see the love of my life struggling with how they look, constantly worrying about their weight, and how they look to others. I see you slowly loosing confidence in yourself, and hating yourself more and more each day.”
He got on his knees, letting him be at a better height with you, and he held his hands out.
You placed your hands on his, letting him bring them to his chest.
“I think you’re perfect the way you are, and you shouldn’t have to change how you look to be happy…” he whispered.
You sniffled a little.
“I’m sorry…”
“No! No! Don’t be sorry! You have nothing to be sorry about!” He rushed out.
He let out a small sight.
“I just want you to look after yourself, and not eating isn’t healthy. I know it can be hard, I understand, sometimes I don’t like how my quirk works, I don’t like I have to eat so much or be so big.”
“No! You’re perfect!” You argued.
“So are you sweets! It’s why I love you!”
Leaning forward, you gave him a gentle kiss before you pulled away to see his grinning face.
“I love you too.”
“So will you eat dinner with me?” He grinned.
You let out a soft laugh, and you gently nodded your head.
“Of course I will.”
He cheered, standing up and he swept you into his arms again, carrying you back over to the couch, sitting you in his lap as he held a plate to you.
You tucked yourself against him, taking it and resting it on your knees, and he took his own plate back so he could eat.
While eating, he noticed your putting some food into his plate, and taking some of his for your own plate, and he just grinned to himself as he carried on eating.
He was going to keep an extra close eye on you for a long time, but he knew you would be okay

*putting Red and Claudine in a jar and shaking vigorously*
Red sits by the principal’s office, leg over leg, and chews gum. This is taking forever.
All the other kids can just wander off to the city by themselves, but apparently she needs a chaperone. Because she is „irresponsible,“ and „a danger to everyone around and herself and not in the fun way,“ or whatever the principal said.
…Or maybe because she managed to get into three different detentions last week.
Whatever.
Red pops her gum: this is just taking so long. She gets up to check her make-up in the mirror and smirks at her reflection. She has made her hair in two little buns atop her head, and let Chloe persuade her into some highlighter. She’s undecided whether she likes it or not.
Her lipstick matches her hair.
She straightens the collar of her red leather jacket and smirks at herself. She looks good, and she is Princess Red of Wonderland: She can deal with everything.
Even an annoying chaperone.
Bored, she wanders around the room a little, and stops when she hears faint voices from the principal’s office.
„But why me, Uma? I’m not interested in babysitting the brats.“
Red has never heard anyone actually talk back to Principal Uma; she pricks up her ears.
„Oh, but it’s gonna be fun–“
This will be anything but fun.
„It will not.“
„Do I care, Claudine? I think it’ll be plenty fun. Also, stop smoking in my office.“
„You’re a fucking sadist, Uma, you don’t count. And I will not, thank you.“
Red froze as the principal cackled and said: „Go meet your charge. She’s waiting at you,“ She raised her voice slightly, „Try not to kill eachother!“ Back to normal.
„No, really, if she dies, you better have a bulletproof alibi, Frollo. She’s your responsibility today.“
„Aye, Captain. I’ll try to deliver her back still alive.“
Red hears steps and hurries back to sit down at her chair, so it wouldn’t look like she was listening in, which was, of course, exactly what she was doing.
„The bar is low, but I’ll take it,“ Principal Uma says as she opens the door, letting the other woman walk through.
She leans back on the frame of the door, gesturing: „Claudine, Red. Red, Claudine. You’re stuck with each other for today, figure it out. I have better things to do.“
The woman – Claudine – dryly notes something about the Principal’s love life Red really wishes she could forget and doesn’t bother to acknowledge when Red greets her.
In fact, she only looks at Red when the Principal, still laughing, disappears back into her office.
„Hello,“ says Red again.
Claudine looks her up and down.
After a moment of silence, she delivers the most unenthusiastic „Hi,“ Red has ever heard from someone who wasn’t actively heading to their own beheading.
