🌟🎄🦌As much as we all love summer, you cannot deny the MAGIC that only winter can bring. The enchanting midnight hour when the snow looks violet and the stars appear to be almost at our earthly grasp. The tracks left by rabbits and the smell of wood chimneys, ah, it's magic! I remember playing outside in the snow for hours and hours and my mom would have a hard time convincing me to come inside, even when it was pitch black outside. There were 2 words that always did the trick. Hot. Cocoa. My mom makes the best hot cocoa because she always uses twice the amount of cocoa and twice the amount of sugar. I remember the year we thought to add mini chocolate bars and chocolate kisses to our mugs. Ah, yes, it's magic! This candle is dedicated to the Magic of Christmas. I took special care in collecting the vintage ornaments that adorn the top of this candle, they are handmade from Germany. I wanted to create a magical winter wonderland scene and I am very happy with the way it turned out, and it smells DIVINE! When you bring this candle into your home, know that you are also bringing my love and prayers for a blessed winter for you and your loved ones. 🍂We are moving towards that time of year when the veil between the living and the dead, the known and the cosmic mystery becomes thin. I absolutely love this time of year and the extra spiritual activity, but sometimes it's nice to be a bit proactive when it comes to protecting yourself, your home and those within it from energetic/spiritual chaos. I've spent 14 months creating these candles. I wanted to make sure all of the plant allies used within them have basked in the light and the dark of 13 Full Moons and 13 New Moons. I planted most of them by seed, watered them and watched them grow, some of them died, but most of them flourished. I spoke to them, whispered incantations. But mostly I listened. I listened to each of their unique songs, warnings and secrets. I was stung and pierced by many of their thorns. Broke out in many rashes by touching them wrong or touching them at all. Some of them didn't even want to be involved while some were very eager. I'm so happy with how they turned out. Even more beautiful than I imagined. And their energy is exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning. Some of the herbal and plant allies include, Agrimony, Galangel, Mugwort, Wormwood, Malabar, Bay Leaf, Peppercorn, Rosemary, Lemon Balm, Black Salt, Apple Seeds and Ash. Blended in organic beeswax and black activated charcoal. Dressed with Bay Leaf, Peppercorns, Black Salt, Mugwort and Wormwood. And finally, stuck with a needle. The needle represents banishing, protection, healing, control. The needle also represents a "pen" in the craft. 🌸🐝It’s that time of year again! 17 days until Imbolc, which is also known as Bridgid’s Day~a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of Spring and the Return of Light! This has become one of my favorite holidays, I just LOVE the energy around this particular festival! The candles, the snowdrops and the bread! 🐝I grew up next to my grandfathers honey farm so there was fresh honey round but there was NOTHING like the first honey of spring. You could taste the young flowers in the sweet golden syrup and I would smother my mothers homemade biscuits in butter and tons and tons of my grandfathers honey. Whenever I smell honey I am instantly brought back to when I was 6 years old, walking across my parents field that connected to my grandparents and I would walk through their tree farm and bee farms before getting to the from door which always smelled like fresh baked cakes, coconut cookies and coffee. I don’t think we had anything like wax melts back then but I know my grampie would get a kick out of these and probably shake his head when I told him what they were used for. Anyways. I need to get back to work but I thought I’d let you know that these are on the stove and I’ll have them listed on the shop soon! 🍂As the veil between the living and the dead, the understood and the unknown begin to thin~sometimes it’s wise to keep a little juju by your side. I’ve been writing about this for a while and I’m finally ready to offer them in the shop. They go by many names but I’m calling these Banishing Bottles because that’s exactly what they do. The contents within them help banish negative energies, hexes, curses, ill wishes and vengeful ghosts from entering your space. The tradition of these bottles go back hundreds of years. Some folks would use cloth instead of bottles and wear the bundles around their neck or place in and around the house. Sometimes if an animal was sick, a mixture of protective herbs would be placed inside the barn.🔥I’ve been working on this particular blend for over a year. Almost every herb has soaked in the light and the dark of at least 13 full and new moons. The final mixing and bottling was completed on this Full Harvest Moon. All herbs were grown or collected by me. Potent herbs of Agrimony, Galangal, Mugwort, Wormwood, Datura, Horse Nettle, Belladonna, Malabar, Bay Leaf, Pepper, Sage, Black Salt and an Apple Seed. Also included is a Smoky Quartz Crystal for added protection and a miniature carving of the human skull which represents a peaceful death and completed cross over. The energy of this bottle projects a peaceful warning to the energies that may encounter it, that they may be respected but are not welcome. There are no instructions. Simply keep in your house or outside your front door. The cork is glued shut because of the poisonous plants inside. Please do not remove from the bottle and keep far away from pets and children. If you are afraid your pet or child might get into it, burry it on your property. As long as it’s on your property it will do it’s job. Do not burn as incense or consume. I strongly suggest that you read up on the ingredients that I used so you can understand them better. 🍂What are you looking forward to most during the soon approaching season of autumn? I love sweater weather. I’m not a “pants” kind of human. You’ll rarely see me in them. I wear flowing summer dresses when it’s warm or leggings and oversized soft sweaters I’m the cooler months. But I’m also that weirdo who wears sandals all year long. I also love having it get dark early. Where I live here in New England it will stay light until 9pm I’m the summer but will get dark around 4pm (sometimes earlier) in the winter and the bat blood in me craves it! I’m a candle maker and love to live by candlelight. Artificial light is my DOOM! *insert dramatic HISSSSS here*🦇I also love soup and bread. I could live off from soup and bread. Do you have any favorite soups? I’ve never had a soup I don’t like and one of the stranger ones that I LOVE is beer and cheese soup. Holy hell it’s divine! Fill up a thermos with beer and cheese soup and go for a walk through the local graveyard and that’s what I call a wicked good time! And the leaves. 🍂🌻What? It’s only 119 days until autumn. I know most of you aren’t in a rush, but I’m counting down the days until everything turns into a pumpkin. This is one of my favorite candles that I’ve made recently. Can you see the witch in the pumpkin patch? She’s a sneaky one. And if there was ever a time that I wish you could smell through your phone, now would be that time. I can’t keep my nose out of this candle! Well, this one has a new home but I am definitely using the same combination of oils in future candles because DAMN! 🕯🔮Hello friends! I’m so sorry to announce that I’m pushing back the release date of the Fortune Teller candle to next Friday. I know it was supposed to be released tonight but I wanted to be more caught up on current orders.
