Climate change: 'Shocking' rate of global tree loss from fire Click here for more information -blog- https://bit.ly/3CgHopi A new report says that about 16 football trees per minute were destroyed in forest fires in 2021. Worldwide, the amount of trees burned has nearly doubled in the past 20 years, data from Global Forest Watch shows Climate change is a major factor in growth as it leads to higher temperatures and drier conditions Of the 9 million hectares of trees consumed by fire in 2021, more than 50 million were in Russian World leaders meet in an effort to protect the sea Why Drought Can Cause Dangerous Flooding Drought exposes dangers to power supplies The new data allows researchers to distinguish between trees lost in fires and those destroyed during agriculture, logging or intentional burning. In 2021, the second-worst year for fires on record, an area the size of Portugal was lost. "It's staggering," says James McCarthy, an analyst at Global Forest Watco. "That's almost twice what it was 20 years ago. It's amazing how much fire activity has increased in such a short period of time." The effects of fire-related damage are being felt primarily in the forests of more northern countries such as Canada and Russia. While fires are a natural part of the long working hours of these forests, the scale of destruction seen in Russia in 2021 was unprecedented. Of the 9.3 million hectares (23 million acres) burned globally, Russia accounts for more than Halo. "What is most worrying is that fires are becoming more frequent, more severe and have the potential to unlock the carbon stored in the soil," said James McCarth. Trees and soil store carbon dioxide – one of the major gases warming our atmosphere – and experts say they are critical in tackling climate change Climate change is seen as a major driver of these fires, with rising temperatures leading to drought conditions in which more trees are burned. The northern regions of the world are warming rapidly, prolonging the fire season. #thetatvaindianews #TheTatva #theearthoutdoors #theearthtimes #climatechange #climat #fire #forest #planttrees #plants (at Earth) https://www.instagram.com/p/Che0YTzv3Rj/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

FIFA bans All India Football Federation: U17 World Cup being organized by India this year has been canceled Indian national teams will not be allowed to play during the ban. FIFA banned the Indian Football Federation on 15 August with "immediate effect due to undue influence of a third party", jeopardizing the country's staging of the Under-17 Women's World Cup in October. World football's governing body called the breach a "serious breach of FIFA law". Indian national teams cannot play any junior or senior international games in either of the two genders during the ban. Indian clubs will not be allowed to participate in the AFC Women's Club Championship, AFC Cup and AFC Champions League competitions. The body also said that this ban/suspension would be lifted after the AIFF administration ordered the constitution of a committee of administrators to assume the powers of the AIFF executive committee and take full control over the day-to-day affairs of the AIFF. "The suspension means that the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2022, which is scheduled to be held in India from 11-30 October 2022, cannot be held as planned in India at present," the release added. The AIFF landed in trouble after former chief Praful Patel held the post beyond the term of the Supreme Court of India, which had declared it invalid. The SC had placed the AIFF under the aegis of a Committee of Administrators (CoA) which it had selected in May 2022. The decision to suspend the AIFF came after the Supreme Court of India directed that the executive committee of the Indian football governing body be expeditiously elected after it was dismissed by the Committee of Administrators seeking contempt action against the former AIFF. Heard the petition filed. President Praful Patel and others earlier this month alleged his interference. The Court had taken cognizance of the fact on 21 July 2022 that the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup is about to begin and India has to host the World Cup. In addition, FIFA indicated to the COA that the tournament should be inaugurated under a democratically elected AFIF. #fifa #football #india #thetatvaindianews #todaynews #theearthtimes (at India इंडिया भारत) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChUJoC0vMU_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
