Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?

// Noelle's encountered many things that have affected her deeply.

The loss of her sound affected her more deeply than simply the loss of something that brought her joy. It made her cautious and fearful of angels, despite once adoring them. It's also made her wary of pacts and powerful beings, worried about hidden agendas.

That's fairly well known for people who know Noelle.

Something less talked about is the war that ravaged her home realm. Due to a magic quirk, she and everyone in that realm are unable to speak of it in detail. Everyone there knows the war happened, it was terrible and the scars cut across the landscape, even in the city where she lives. But life goes on, even if the scars resist reconstruction due to the twisted forces that were weaponized during it.

Less known is that Noelle was present in her city when the war hit. She and some others were planning to escape using a device to open a way to another realm. It wasn't finished before the overwhelming force arrived. She fled to the machine with a friend and they attempted to use it as the forces hit the building they were in.

The machine activated, but wasn't stable. Noelle never saw her friend that she tried to escape with since then...and the peculiar properties of the device's failure and the war have stripped the appearance and personality of whoever her friend was from her mind.

She does not like to remember what she saw when she fled.

She believes the war was caused by ambition and abuse of magic power. Coupled with abuses of power and position she's seen at the academy, she believes that being overly-ambitious is dangerous especially with magic, and much prefers smaller goals that won't risk hurting others.

It's unclear how conscious she is of this, and whatever forces causes the war to be unable to be spoken of makes it difficult for her to address it in therapy.

It's pretty neat of an idea. Kinda thinking like getting dipped in it changes a skinny person into a chubby one with an addiction to what they were dipped in

The purple skinned woman flashed a grin at Sae; she could already tell this would be an interesting partnership. "So you're the demon prosecutor I've heard so much about? You certainly have the air of a woman made of iron..."

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Sae raised an eyebrow, looking over the purple skinned stranger standing before her. Granted, this wasn't the weirdest thing she'd ever seen, but she still had a lot of questions, especially in regards to the woman's... unusual skin tone.

Harley looked up at her girlfriend with tear filled eyes, hugging her knees to her chest as she rocked herself back and forth in hopes to calm herself.

“He only fucked me for his pleasure.” Harley sobbed, flashing to her time with The Joker. “I never was able to get pleasure from it,” she spat.
