Remember the time when the fandom lived by theorizing and speculating about who might be the killer of the season? Who was Chick really, who is the Gargoyle King and will Charles be a character who will be a son and brother, and not a serial killer?

I still remember the first time I found @thestaredown's amazing theories about what happened during the explosion in the mine and how we analyzed the possibilities of plot development in detail. We didn't rule out "magic" and more insanity. But we certainly never expected the plot of Riverdale to land in such a big puddle.

And now the fandom is discussing what? How one actor was smoking on the couch and "maybe" talking bad about another actor?

Guys, is the season premiere in a week? And everyone gives a shit about the plot? That is, in general, no one cares what the season will be about. Not a single theory, not a single real discussion of the possible development of the plot.

I can't believe how much Ted screwed up the show. All the "loyal fans" talk about is the relationship of the actors.

Ras posted a BA still where Betty smile at Archie like she never did to Jughead but yeah it's an AU 😂 And they both don't want to build a life together and they don't want their baby. LOL

I could find 10+ scenes where she smiles at Jughead more than she's smiling here but why bother? You're embarrassing, please stop, we're all cringing around here.

If we can go to the 50s, have the characters become teenagers again and forget stuff (except for Jug who is now a 26 year old stuck in a 16 year old’s body) then we may as well just go back to 4x17 and undo the thing that lead to all of this crumbling. There are no rules of what can and can’t be done at this point.

One of the (many) things that annoy me this season is how they tease us with Bughead crumbs to keep us invested but never more than one episode in a  row. They give us Tabitha in Rivervale being jealous of Betty and then nothing, they give us Bughead making out to save the universe and everyone forgets what happened and we go back to Riverdale. They give us Bughead working together for an episode and Jughead getting a flash of their “best of” moments but it’s never followed up on. Now in this last ep we have Ethel yell at writer!Jughead about still loving Betty and again I suppose next ep we get nothing (though at least this was Jughead in a different universe who may need to face Ethel’s wrath there).

I have no doubts of Bughead being endgame and I’m not oppose to these crumbs but it’s annoying that they keep giving us these hints just to then pretend they didn’t.

It just seems like it could be funny/sweet.

“Can you believe I swapped my shift at the diner for this?” Jughead pops an Oreo into his mouth as he comes to stand beside Betty at the snack table. “No gargoyles, no snuff films, no nothing. I’m not sure I’d even call it a school dance.”

Betty raises an eyebrow, taking a sip from her plastic cup of punch to hide her smile. “All of that happened at prom,” she points out. “Not homecoming.”

“Still. These kids don’t know how good they have it.” He cringes, rocking back on his heels. “And with those words, he officially became an old fogey.”

She laughs, some of the tension melting away from her spine. These days she never knows which version of Jughead she’s going to get: brooding and taciturn, sharp and dismissive, drunk and stumbling. This version – loose and good-humored, but sober – is her favorite. It’s also the rarest. She’s grateful it’s the one that decided to show up tonight, when the whole faculty’s been roped into chaperoning the homecoming dance.

Jughead plucks two more cookies from the table, offering one to Betty. When she shakes her head, he shrugs, cramming them both into his mouth. She rolls her eyes.

“They look like such babies,” she remarks. It feels a little silly, saying that out loud when she herself is only a few years out of college. But she feels decades older than the version of Betty that had once spent weeks planning school dances, fretting over what dress she’d wear, crying to Kevin that the boy she liked had invited another girl to be his date yet again.

The boy in question is across the room, standing close to Veronica, whose enormous diamond ring had disappeared from her left hand without fanfare just a few weeks ago. Betty had refrained from asking, but all mentions of Chad in their light, quippy teachers’ lounge conversations had ceased, and she’d overheard Jughead make some comments that indicated Archie was no longer sleeping at home most nights. She’s happy for them – but envious, too. Not because she longed for anything with Archie herself, but because they were so easy with one another. Natural. The way she and Jughead used to be, back before everything.

The lights shift from glittery, up-tempo swirls to beams of color that sweep around the dance floor. A slow song starts – an old, romantic doo-wop number, like something you might find on the jukebox at Pop’s. “This one’s for the chaperones,” the DJ intones, and most of the teens peel away from the dance floor, taking the opportunity to use the bathroom or rest their feet.

Betty scoffs. “How old do they think we are? Eighty?” But when she glances at Jughead for his reaction, he’s looking back at her with the kind of soft eyes she hasn’t seen in years. For a moment she almost forgets how to breathe.

He nods his head towards the dance floor. “You want to?”

She can’t believe what she’s hearing. “Do you want to?”

Jughead shrugs again. “Yeah. Why not.” He extends his hand, and she takes it, letting him lead her past the snack table.

It’s not like all the times they’d danced together before. He’s far more careful with her now, hands light on her waist, a few extra inches of space between them. Anyone watching from the sidelines would assume it’s a friendly dance between friendly colleagues, nothing more.

But she’s so nervous. “Are we really doing this?” she wonders aloud, just to break the silence.

“Why are you so surprised? I always danced with you.”

“Sure, but. You know. You just wanted to make me happy.”

Jughead seems embarrassed; he clears his throat, ducking his head a little. “Yeah, well.”

That’s all he says, but it’s enough. Betty’s glad they’re not pressed together the way they might have been seven years ago, lest he feel how hard her heart is pounding in her chest right now. “Oh.”

His fingers press gently into her waist, like he’s afraid she might pull away. “Just…finish this dance with me, okay? Just this one.”

“Okay,” she says, letting the tips of her fingers drift to the nape of his neck, hoping they’ll tell him the things she isn’t ready to say out loud right now.

So I decided to send this as an ask just because I found it funny.

So I kept seeing things about leftist teen drama on tumblr but no real identifying things, no gifs.

Until I started following you I legitimately thought it was some show everyone was watching, and kept thinking that sounds interesting I should check it out.

I was wrong but now I want to listen in so it all works out.

Bughead is my otp but I won't lie and say I don't think Toni and Jug could have been interesting. And Betty and Toni had some great interactions at first. So I'll bite it could work. Though mostly it would be Toni telling them to calm the fuck down as she has more chill than bughead combined.

Toni is pretty chill, but she’s also really into people who are intense and crazy (canonically Cheryl and Jughead, but Betty fits here too), and she likes that about people.  So she’d be half “Ok, calm down” and half “Yes, keep doing what you’re doing, that level of intense is hot as fuck”.  And I would love to see that, I think it’d be really fun to see someone try to rein in Betty and Jughead’s crazy but also see Betty and Jughead drag Toni into their crazy.  It just seems like a fun dynamic, y’know?

I ask this out of pure curiosity (knowing I can look it up) however there is something special about descriptions through a fans eyes. I’ve been seeing all your posts about Wynona Earp for ages and still have no idea what the show is.

As a fan, and me as a total newbie what would be your best description of the show? I’m always looking for new things to watch and seeing the love for it on my dash made me want to know more.

Ooooh I love this question, and I LOVE talking about Wynonna Earp. Also glad to see the WE spam hasn’t turned anyone off of it!

So the Wikipedia version is that Wynonna Earp is a show about the descendants of Wyatt Earp, dealing with a curse on the family originating with him. When the curse’s heir (the oldest living member of the family) turns 27, their role is activated. Think of it as being kind of Buffy-like. Their job is to kill all 77 of Wyatt Earp’s resurrected kills (they’re called Revenants in the show) with a specific gun called Peacemaker. If they kill all 77 the curse ends, but nobody has managed to do that. 

Enter Wynonna, played by the AMAZING Melanie Scrofano (who I highly recommend following on Twitter). When the show starts, she’s just coming back to her hometown of Purgatory on her 27th birthday. The show is about her fighting the curse with her younger sister, Waverly, the town Sheriff Nicole Haught, and Doc Holliday. 

So on the tin, Wynonna Earp is not a show I would like, but you watch it and fall in love with it. This IS a supernatural show but it is done in a way that’s not too scifi-like?

At its core, the show is about family, both found and blood, and about legacy. Those are central themes of the show. Wynonna loves her sister more than anyone else in her life, and their relationship is just beautiful. Also, the show makes it clear that Wynonna didn’t choose to be the heir, it was literally a curse on her. She says more than once that she feels cheated because she’s never been given a choice in her life. Wynonna herself is just amazing. She’s VERY snarky and guarded, due to a very rough life, and, you know, the whole curse thing. But she and people around her are written and portrayed so sensitively and so beautifully, you just need things to work out for her. 

The show has EXCELLENT LGBTQIA+ representation. There are at least 3 LGBT members of the mains, and they are treated just the same as a straight couple would be. The show is incepted and produced by a woman, and is an incredibly feminist show. It’s dark, it’s funny, it’s silly, it’s cheesy and it’s absolutely a ride. There are moments where it is so dumb but also moments where you can see how much love went into this show. 

And on that note! The show is Riverdale’s polar opposite in terms of fandom. Generally speaking, the fandom is very positive (if small). The actors and writers just adore this show, their characters, and each other. They are all very interactive with fans, but unlike Riverdale, it’s in such a positive way. The show is basically a love letter to the fans, and the cast is also like a big family. 

(also in the latest season they were allowed to say fuck and it was BEAUTIFUL)

I can’t recommend checking the show out highly enough, and if this hasn’t convinced you, might I introduce you to this dialogue from the second episode.
