DnD CHARACTERS TIME WHOOOOOO since i'm obsessed with creating funky gay magical people, and have about 20 character ideas, over the past few months i've been drawing a few of them in between my usual fanart :) if you wanna know more i'm leaving some info below ;D
these six nerds are the most developed characters i have so far, and i've only gotten to play Thessa and Valax a little before becoming my party's DM. but here they are!!
🗡️🌊 Leonard, tiefling swashbuckler rogue Ah, this fucker. He's a pirate, he's horrible, he's a tease and he only cares about himself and making gold. No horribly depressed backstory except for like, class struggle and being an orphan, he's sure to make a show everywhere he goes. With a rapier and a dagger always by his side, getting himself into trouble is always at the top of his list. At least they're entertaining and fun to be around, and being enticing sure helps draw attention away from the pickpocketing every here and there.
⚔️🛡️ Thessalya, human battle master fighter Ok ok I'm guilty of giving her way more trauma than I should have, but I love making characters go through fucked up shit and still end up being kind. That's her. Her parents abandoned her while their village was attacked and destroyed, was then captured by some shitty army. Almost died a few times from failed escape attempts, all while she was eight, but eventually she was able to run away! And thank the gods, some good knights took her in and helped her! Now she was two cool dads that taught her how to fight (and sing a little) and she loves studying history and philosophy. She's seen a lot of evil in the world so she hopes she can be strong enough to protect those who need help every now and again.
🌲🌒 Valax Roseshade, wood elf, gloom stalker ranger He's sad. He's a forest hobo. He was literally raised by wolves. He's 300 years old and tired. He smells like grass and fungi all the time. He doesn't talk about his religious trauma. He doesn't talk much in general. Still, he's a deadly shot and a good addition to a party who needs help getting around any large terrain with trees. Always looking to keep the balance between nature and civilization, hunting undead evils and shit. Yeah.
🐺🔥 Navah, human barbarian, path of the beast (possible blood hunter multiclass) Navah also suffers a bad case of parents are dead (and lycanthropy, lol), but she channels her emotions in a very different way. She has a giant axe, she's hairy, she's loud, she likes taking up space and occasionally turns into a wolf. She controls her anger, the part of her which knows she deserves better, to help folk with some extra muscle, even forging her own badass weapons (as long as there's no silver involved).
🎶🎭 Asra, moon elf, college of lore bard The Veiled Siren, as most know her by her stage name, is but a simple bard traveling from town to town. They've been on the road for many years, and home is every place where she makes friends. With a complicated past, they've managed to leave everything behind and start anew, and are enjoying the simple things in life while on a quest to inspire confidence in those who struggle with believing in themselves.
🔫✨ Elphi, tiefling gunslinger fighter/order of scribes wizard Wizard with a gun my beloved. She's smart and skilled but visibly struggles holding conversations with anyone that's not a magical talking book. I don't know who gives a kid a gun, but thankfully whoever that was taught her proper safety. Well, whoever that was, no way they're crazier than the nerdy archivist that took her in and offered his library/home for the energetic pink little demon. She's read many books about wonderful and dangerous adventures and is looking forward to write her own!
>>> i love getting asks about anything so if there's any more fun info you're curios about, don't hesitate to drop by <33

thessa, flowers, Manuela Karin Knaut
Manuela Karin Knaut is best known for her paintings and art installations, but she also works with a wider range of media, including collages, photography and architectural objects. Her art is primarily expressionistic, a cypher for memories and emotions that can be frank and poetic as well as intimate and universal. Infused with colour and created with eloquent brushstrokes, Knaut´s often huge semi-abstract canvases and objects are charged with an explosive energy. Knaut´s work focuses on contemporary issues and universal themes regarding the human condition, such as home, love, loss and loneliness. She always finds inspiration for her multifaceted works in being a seeker and a collector of things, and in passionately observing everyday life. The artist often uses personal situations, which then find their way into diverse series of her work. She deliberately makes room for a seemingly purposeless play with all sorts of objects and other materials. At first glance, these pieces of art present themselves in a light and blunt manner, but are never an accidental creation. Manuela Knaut’s work has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions since 1990 as well as art performances all over Europe and further abroad, including La Biennale d’Art Contemporain de Cachan (France), Turbine Art Fair (Johannesburg, South Africa), Kunsthalle Cloppenburg, Community Center Art Gallery, Kiryat Tivon (Israel), Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Art (Bishkek, Kyrgyztan), Galerie VorOrtOst Leipzig, Palais Rastede, Museum of the Town of Bad Hersfeld, Ostrale / International Exhibition of Contemporary Arts (Dresden), Kunstsalon Schopenhauer (Frankfurt on the Main), Galerie Artlantis (Bad Homburg), Galerie Jaeschke (Braunschweig). Her work is found in public and private collections worldwide. Contact: [email protected]

New tutorial for today! I got inspired by the tiny bit of snow that we got yesterday, but even though a small amount it was snow! So I made a snow mandala and here's how to draw it. If you do make one and colour it do tag me with #ThessA I'd love to see what you've made. <3

WRITING
MARTYRED AND MAROONED: A crew of self-proclaimed “privateers” operating in the Leucosian Republic are entangled in a vast conspiracy after accepting a contract from an unorthodox client - the Black Sea, an infamously eccentric cult devoted to an enigmatic goddess known as ‘Thessa’. With the Republic’s pirate hunters following close behind, the crew must either adjust to the region’s shifting tides, or be swallowed by the sea.

My liking for street art started long time ago in Mexico city. The amazing murals from Orozco, Siqueiros or Diego Rivera inspired my childhood and later the my parents’ passion for art took me to museums and cities all around the world where I learnt about the different ways to understand what “art” and “culture” stand for.
I’m not a writer (graffiti artist) and certainly cannot be called an expert, but I’ve learnt to enjoy even the more basic forms of it and, sometimes, even to read some of the messages behind. For the last couple of years, I’ve been adding a graffiti to my travel quests. From Reykjavik to Porto, this has allowed me to enjoy great street art, from big pieces to small details hiding behind a street sign or up in a wall.
But still, I didn’t expect to find great graffiti on my last trip to Tunisia.
3ZS from Palestine
My mistake! There is great graffiti in Tunisia
Just like in the picture on top of this post, I had not done enough research before planning my trip to Tunisia, and I assumed there wouldn’t be much of a street art movement there. Well, not such a big mistake as thinking there were pyramids but…
I had read of great artists like Paul Klee, who developed their color landmarks and produced their best known pieces when they traveled to Tunisia, but I forgot to look for other forms of art, assuming it would be banned or in places we couldn’t be traveling to.
Maybe some tags (yes, the signature like thing that annoys people from all around the world), throw-ups (a bit more complex than a tag but still not a masterpiece) or stickers (literally, stickers.) Instead this is what I found…
SHOOF from Tunisia
DABRO from Tunisia
INKMAN from Tunisia
ELSEED from Tunisia
frog by SALMA from Tunisia, lion by ORTICANOODLES from Italy
According to CityLab’s article The Rise of Graffiti Artists in the Suburbs of Tunis from Thessa Lageman, street art is often buffed (erased) and artists are often taken into arrest by police, so most of the murals you can see are legal (authorized by the owner of the wall).
But that doesn’t undermine the quality, neither the amazing projects, like collectively painting an old Boing 727 of Tunisair or transforming the beautiful town of Hara Sghira Er Rhiad in Djerba Island into an open sky museum called Djerbahood.
  The hidden gem of Djerbahood
Back in 2014, a group of 150 artists from 30 different nationalities decided to transform the town of Erriadh, in the island of Djerba, into an open sky museum of street art. The village, a traditional Tunisian town welcomed the artworks in their white walls and has become one of the island’s must see for all sort of travelers.
From the outside, the town is just any regular Djerba town: one or two-floor houses with rounded shapes, white walls and blue doors. Calm people on traditional dresses, kids that go to school, some pottery shops by the road… But when you get inside and start looking around you will find beautiful pieces showcasing artists from every continent.
NILKO from France
ADFUEL from Portugal
B-TOY from Spain
Bike from Malakkai from Spain, calligraphic from ELSEED from Tunisia
c215 from France
BOMK from France
NESPOON from Poland
NINA from France
North American and European artists show some very interesting ways to use the walls of abandoned places and those of beautiful homes. But they are not the only ones to show a mastering art of spray cans and visual language.
Tunisian and other artists from many countries across Africa and South America, also show a very interesting visual language that is sometimes ironic and sometimes simply beautiful:
FAITH47 from South Africa
DEYAA from Saudi Arabia
JACE from Reunion Island
WISETWO from Kenya
INTI from Chile and AXEL VOID from USA
woman SANER from Mexico, door CEKIS from Chile
Where in the world can you find so many different ways to express urban art?
*All of the pieces in this article come from Djerbahood project in Tunisia, from my visit this year. They are not the only ones I saw there, nor in other parts of Tunisia.
Travel Tip: You can download a map with the location of all the original masterpieces here. Some of them have been damaged by the weather, others transformed with the years or even disappeared as the places they were placed on did too. But it is still an amazing trip to add to your bucket list.
  Extra
This is not the only reason why you should travel to Djerba, nor to the small town of Er Rhiad, like the shops with beautiful crafts and arts (with revamped and modern versions of the traditional Tunisian crafts that you can find at the zouks and markets) or the Friends of the Medina Festival that happens every year, or the beautiful Synagogue of Ghriba only a few kilometers away (with its own jewish pilgrimage taking place each year too).
**If you are looking for more graffiti and murals, I publish my favorite pieces at my Google+ Graffiti collection, check them out and share with me your favorite ones :)

Case of Mistaken Identity
This is a dumb super short fic that I wrote inspired by this post from falcor-thee-luck-dragon that made me lose my shit laughing. Anyway, here it is, you can also read it here on AO3.
Warning for accidental drug use? I guess? Thessa just misidentifies some berries its fine
Oh, yeah, I totally knew exactly what those berries were, no problem! I’d seen them before, I was one hundred thousand percent sure they were safe to eat. No, they couldn’t be anything else. They’re delicious, you should totally try some! No? Okay, well, your loss, more for me!
I was wrong.
I sat in the cockpit of the Razor Crest leaned back in the pilot’s chair, staring up at the wispy blue light of hyperspace, completely fascinated by the sight despite being intimately familiar with it. Was it always this… blue? Was it always so fucking quiet? I furrowed my brow, thinking about all of these questions I’d somehow never asked myself.
“Din,” I said, still transfixed on the patterns of hyperspace. “I think I fucked up identifying those berries.”
His voice was straining, like he was holding back a laugh. “You don’t say? You’ve been staring out the viewport for ten minutes,” he said. “You’re never this quiet.”
“You ever noticed how… just, blue hyperspace is?” I asked, earnestly, finally tipping my head down to look at him.
He looked over his shoulder and shook his head. “Thessa, what are you talking about?”
“Y’know, it’s just really blue!” I gasped as if I’d come to a revelation. “It’s gotten bluer since last time.”
That made him laugh. “No, it’s the same color,” he assured me.
“You sure?”
“Positive.”
I hummed, confused. I went to stand, to go where I have no idea, but immediately became pretty dizzy and stumbled forward. Din seemed to move faster than possible, and I fell into his lap. I started giggling, sitting up and leaning into him.
“Sure you’re feeling okay?” he asked, brushing some hair out of my face.
I giggled again, pressing a kiss to his helmet. “I feel great,” I said, grinning. That was the truth; whatever was in those berries, thankfully I only ate a couple, was making me feel incredibly relaxed and happy, and I could see why people got addicted to stuff like this. I looked over my partner, my hands finding themselves pressed against his chest. “Maker you’re sexy.”
He tilted his head to the side, and there was a moment of quiet. “Thanks,” he said, turning back towards the control panel, keeping me seated in his lap. “You’re not too bad yourself. But you’re high, so until you come down, pants stay on.”
I pouted, but he was right. Wasn’t the best idea for our future selves while I was under the influence of some mystery berries. I tilted my head back and rested it against his shoulder, resuming my marveling at hyperspace.
“I have a confession to make,” I said, quietly but confidently.
There was another pause and Din tilted his head back, almost as if he was exasperated, but I’m pretty sure he was just trying not to laugh. “Please, do tell.”
“What if the reason hyperspace is so blue is because I’ve never licked sand?” This statement seemed so reasonable and made perfect sense at the time.
Din laughed again, then shook his head. “What if you never eat wild berries again?” he suggested.
I shrugged. “They tasted fine,” I said. “Maybe I should eat wild berries more often.”
“Absolutely not.” He flicked something on the dashboard. “I’m banning you from eating any more wild berries.”
“Aw, man,” I sighed. Probably for the best. “Are you ever afraid the kid will pick you up?”
“I’m sorry?”
“You know, with the magic hand thing? Are you ever afraid he’ll pick you up?”
He sighed. “No, not really,” he answered. “Are you?”
“Nah, but like… it would probably feel weird, right?” I wondered, looking at all of the blinking lights on the control panel.
“Maybe. You could ask that mudhorn we took down,” he said.
I snorted. “That mudhorn is dead, silly,” I responded, as if this was something I actually had to remind him of. “Y’know what?”
“What?”
“You used to make me so nervous, with your shiny armor and your guns ‘n shit,” I said, gesturing vaguely in the air in front of me. “But you’re really a big softy.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, you are, and it’s super obvious when you’re with the kid,” I explained. “You’re just like, ten percent beskar, ten percent kickass, and eighty percent soft.”
“I think your math’s off,” he responded. “I’m at least twenty percent kickass.”
I laughed, patting his chestplate. “Okay, fine, that’s fair.” I yawned. “You’re very comfy.”
He hummed a response. “I think you’ll feel better after you get some sleep.”
“I don’t feel bad,” I said. “And you worry too much.”
I felt his chuckle in his chest despite his armor. “Maybe so.”
I sighed and shifted a little bit in Din’s lap, head still resting on his shoulder. I tried to fight it for a little bit, but I was so exhausted all of the sudden. Definitely a side effect of those berries. I wonder what they actually were, because I really thought I knew. I yawned again.
“Definitely fucked up with the berries,” I said, before drifting off to sleep, comfortable and warm there in the cockpit.

Pick three questions to answer!
aw man now I gotta pick sdkfjg okay okay how about.....
2. Tell us abut what you’re most looking forward to writing - in your current project, of a future project
Y’ALL. (AMWIAI spoilers if you care, sorta, kinda) I cannot WAIT to write the face off between Thessa and Din and her getting rescued. It’s going to be a lot. I’ve had a line for that scene written for exactly 4 months to the day, and I just. Oh boy. It’s gonna be a lot. Also looking forward to doing this Frankie fic I’ve had planned for a couple months, the inspiration just hasn’t Truly Struck yet y’know?
15. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags?)
TITLES. Oh my god. I just. It’s a struggle. I usually don’t come up with one until after I’m done writing it. With summaries it’s like. I just gotta tell u what’s in it. With titles????????????????? terrible. horrible. why do we even need titles hm???????
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about.
AMWIAI is full of it, dude. Some of it wasn’t even intentional. Like, in chapter 4, I wrote the line
“I don’t have a bounty on my head now, do I?” I asked sarcastically, smiling at him.
and literally two chapters later we find out she does, in fact, have a bounty on her head. I didn’t mean to do this. Also, throughout the story (and I can say this now that it’s known that she’s force sensitive) she acts on instinct and has hunches that she... feasibly shouldn’t if she weren’t force sensitive. The draw to Din at the very beginning, her gut feelings about him, her gut feelings in Mos Eisley, so on and so forth. That was all sort of nods to her being force sensitive without it being... overt? I guess?
Also I accidentally included references to like four of the seven deadly sins in Greedy and didn’t mean to. Oops
