Fox stood there. He had been listening to all the speeches, too tired to even try to find a distraction. The voices were dripping in his head like torture with a drop of acid. Plop, plop, plop. Echoing louder and louder, burning any other thought out of his mind. 

He was standing at attention next to the Chancellor, offering protection, drowning in the declarations about fighting for peace and defending the Republic’s values and love and family and bloodshed and war and slavery. They were outdoors. There was a crowd listening attentively down there, far enough to be considered appropriate security and needing to use holo projections, so that the poor sobs could even see Palpatine’s grandfatherly smile. There was some wind whistling against his armor, carrying the noise of the people up to the platform. But Fox could only hear the sweet, mellow voice of the Chancellor, resonating in his helmet’s mics. 

The Commander was standing at perfect attention, ready to intervene at the smallest suspicion of danger. But his men had scouted the entire place, taking control of every building around. No assassin could be hiding and waiting for their perfect occasion, even with all of the niches and hidey-holes offered by the nabooian architecture of nightmare. 

Fox’s fists clenched behind his back, gauntlets creaking. He repositioned himself slightly, changing the repartition of his weight. 

The Chancellor was talking about how heroic the clones were, how brave and efficient. How they deserved to die even more in his war for power. All wrinkled smiles and broad gestures and sparkling and wide clothes. 

The Guard’s Commander was getting nervous, eyes rapidly scanning the crowd, the surrounding buildings, the Plaza. His skin was tingling, every nerve awake and buzzing with restlessness. The sun was shining on his left, giving him a perfect sight of everything that shouldn't be here. 

He moved, rapid fire, nearly instinctive. In a second, the shot of his blaster was resonating in the Plaza, cutting the neverending speeches with perfect precision. Fox breathed deeply, as he lowered his arm. His exhale was echoed by the muffled sound of his victim’s corpse falling to the ground. 

That was much better. He couldn't have bear it any longer, he needed that blessed silence. 

Of course, it didn't last long. Panic swiftly rose in the Plaza, with screams and cries and running and chaos. It didn't really help with the debacle that the enormous holoscreens were still displaying in high resolution the sight of the Chancellor’s body, crumpled and old, with a blaster shot burned in his forehead. But Fox’s men were the best, competence incarnated. They took control of the Nabooian capital in a matter of minutes. 

Fox kept breathing a little, enjoying the sight at his feet and the calm in his helmet. He hadn't had the occasion for such peace since well before Geonosis. 

He didn't linger for long, of course not. He had to coordinate with the rest of his Guard, back on Coruscant. His officers weren't going to like his lack of warning, but they had created Plan Thesh for a reason. He still enjoyed this reprieve fully while it lasted.

So what's canon for Tulia vs the in-game events is.... messy at best. But there are scenes that I really like for the angst (and development! but mostly angst) they offer her.

Tulia would have had Castellan restraints applied around the time that is "canon" (the confrontation with Jadus on the Dominator), but not activated until much later. When her restraints were activated by Acina (not all that long ago here, honestly, so the trauma of that whole experience is still probably a bit fresh), I think Acina would have enjoyed telling her just how long there's been a switch inside her brain that any member of the Dark Council could have flipped if they had wanted to, and that it had been placed on the Minister's approval.

Tulia has always had a bit of a weird relationship with the Watchers, with the pride that those of them from Project Cicerone have at being genetically engineered to be better than everyone else at Imperial Intelligence, while also knowing (per Watcher X) that they're also put through rigorous loyalty conditioning as a failsafe.

To Tulia, Shara's entire purpose is serving the Empire, and Shara was proud to do it. So what does it matter if she ever had a choice in the matter? Finding out just how differently the Minister sees her and Shara in terms of their autonomy and their inherent value is a little infuriating for her, mostly for her own sake, but at least a little bit for Shara's as well.

It's already been kind of crazy this year... I also think I'm at the point where things start to mellow out... Things are starting to look up, the struggle has an end! I'm excited for this next chapter. I'm ready to focus on what is ahead, not have to keep looking back and focusing on what the past is doing, It takes time to realize the strength is in letting go, not holding on. It's hard as fuck. I'm not even going to lie. But once you let go, the weight that is lifted from your shoulders is insane!

It's been a long time since I had a journal.... It's one of those things i need to make a habit, too be a better me. I think it's just good for people to journal. I shouldn't have quit, and the fact it's been almost 20 years since I last had a regular journal habit.... Sad its really just sad.

This is the first time I've seen him make this face and it's reserved specifically for SIS Garfield

Hunter: I owe command ten credits. You look awful, by the way.

You fool. I look better than you ever will.

Hunter: Legate. How's Quesh compare to Hoth? Find any pretty ensigns?

Eight: How you survived in this business I'll never know.

Hunter: bla bla I want to walk you around the galaxy on a leash

Eight: The thought of traveling with you makes my skin crawl.

Hunter: You wound me. (trying to hide fuckboy tears)

Eight: Were you this obnoxious to Ardun Kothe? Or am I special?

Hunter: I tried to behave for the SIS. But for you and me? Let's be baaad. austin powers voice: oh behave baby

Conclusion: Hunter down atrocious. Recommended course of action includes kicking him in the choobies, or perhaps engaging in close combat to relieve his wanting before folding him like a chair.

So I camped in an industrial area for 2 nights. How did we get here? Ridiculous story time! I pumped gas and Freyja started making weird noises and started sputtering. Then she stopped completely and wouldn’t run anymore unless I rode with full choke on. I intended to camp that night, so I had to choose between riding with full choke to go camping, or do the responsible thing and fix Freyja before more adventures. I begrudgingly chose the responsible route 🙀 I could only camp as far as I could push her, so that’s how we ended up here. I set up my tent and went to sleep in front of what I thought was an abandoned office. I was woken up in the morning by the owner’s daughter who said I couldn’t be there, but once I told her my bike broke down and my story, she said I could camp one more night. Bless them. Lucky me there was a gas station and Starbucks 2 minutes away so I could survive. I met a dude in a Kawasaki jacket in Starbucks and asked him for advice. He didn’t know what the problem was and asked what I was going to do. I said I was going to push it 2 miles to a motorcycle shop. He looked at me like I was crazy. He then phoned up his friends at the shop I was going to push my bike to the next day and told me they were going to do a rescue mission and pick me up the next morning so I wouldn’t have to push Freyja for 2 miles. Honestly I was pretty bummed, I thought it would be funny if I did. Wouldn’t it be hilarious seeing me pushing this fully loaded bike going 1 mph around a Round A Bout? There goes that dream. Thank you to The Shed in Hull for pulling this rescue mission and Richard in the Kawasaki jacket. So what was wrong with Freyja? The gas I pumped was contaminated. I’ve never heard of that before. I asked myself what I could’ve done or how I could’ve fixed it myself. I didn’t even know contaminated gas was a thing. If I did, would I have drained her out in the street? Nahh. This had to be done the right way. Has this ever happened to do?
