Hrghhggh not too far off, really more accurately it takes me like a few hours to finish any given book but ONLY if I have the motivation to pick it up in the first place. Which. Does not happen often.

CYOA Whump Part 26

You chose: The door

Alrighty, y'all chose to risk it all and go get your man. Let's see how that goes!

You make the split-second decision to run for the door.

Onthyes was a reason you'd decided to keep fighting. You can't just leave him behind.

Slamming the cabin door behind you you look around the deck frantically. It's well into the middle of the night now, possibly even the early morning. You can hear the sound of crewmen working the night chatting nearby, but luckily none of them catch sight of you.

You don't know where exactly you'll find Onthyes, but you don't want to spend another second just standing outside the captain's cabin. You take a moment to push a nearby crate against the door, knowing that it will only stall Erxik for a few minutes at best if he wakes up.

You're moving quickly across the deck when you turn a sharp corner and run face first into a broad chest.

"Ventis! Thank the gods!" Onthyes whispers as he steadies you. He's still fully dressed, with a sword at his side and a bag slung over his shoulder. "I heard thunder and the night is clear and you were alone with Erxik so I figured you might be in danger." Then he studies your face closer in the dim light, tilting your chin up with a gentle hand. A dark look crosses his features. "He hurt you."

You glance away, not quite able to meet his eyes. "I am alright," you mutter, but your voice is strained and hoarse from being choked earlier.

"No you're not. I should have come for you sooner. I shouldn't have let him take you away."

"Onthyes," you say firmly.

Onthyes goes quiet, staring down at you with wide eyes.

Then, you get on your tip-toes and kiss him.

It's a short kiss. You don't have time to savor it, knowing that you have to get moving before Erxik escapes his cabin and comes for you.

When you pull away Onthyes's face is bright red and he's smiling like an idiot. "What was that for?" he asks breathlessly.

You just scoff and grab him by his arm, dragging him along with you as you make your way towards the boats. You almost miss being chained together.

You run up to the nearest dinghy and start untying its ropes. There are other pirates working within eyesight, but they don't seem to have caught on to your current situation.

"Help me," you bark at Onthyes as you prepare to swing it over the ship's edge. "Hurry."

Onthyes rushes to help and soon you have the boat suspended over the dark water. He climbs in first and starts getting everything situated.

A strong hand clamps down on your shoulder before you can join Onthyes.

"What's going on here?"

You look up to find Tinny standing over you, her face set into a hard glare. Her voice catches the attention of the other pirates, some of whom drop their jobs and start to head over to you.

Hello all 2025 calendar contributors!

Now that we are settled in, our first big task is the topics checkpoint, with a soft deadline of August 25, 2024. Topics submissions will open August 22, 2024 at 7 am PST, and will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. You must submit your topic to mod Xan and have it approved before you can proceed.

No topics will be approved before this time.

You and your partner will have to pick two things:

1) A Ninjago season to focus on (this sets the cast of characters as well as the timeline; e.g. if you pick season 1, you will have child Lloyd, and the main ninja + nya as samurai x, which is different from DR Lloyd and the DR cast, which would include Sora, Arin, etc )

2) A topic/theme to do. The topics/themes should not be super vague (i.e. "comfort") and should give us an idea on what your fic/art will be like (i.e. "Lloyd, Nya, and Pixal comfort each other at Skylar's noodle shop"). It is encouraged to try to link your topic to the month you were assigned, though not necessarily required.

No irl holidays are allowed this year.

Topics and seasons should also not repeat from previous years, which you can find here (We will allow a repeat of a season if it was not done the previous year, but only for a maximum of 2 times).

Please note: Since this is a soft deadline, there will be no penalties for submitting a topic late, other than the fact you will now have less time before Checkpoint#1 which is a basic outline/sketch due September 1.

Made my first objection.lol based on a conversation I (as Maya) had in our culturally diverse discord group chat about condensed milk a few years ago now with my bf @thebluelittlewitch2-thesequel (as Phoenix) and @arscynic (As Edgeworth) and Dreamy (As Franziska) but I don't think they have a Tumblr.

weirdest thing you've ever done/seen someone do, GO

A couple years back, I, about 11, was in the parking lot of a gas station, waiting for my mother to come out of the store, when a father and two kids walked up to the store. The older child and the dad walk inside, but the younger child lingers outside the door- seemingly going unnoticed by the father. And this kid maybe 5 or 6 just starts itching his ass I stare in bewilderment as, in broad daylight, this child just stands upon the blessed threshold of the 7-11, vigorously itching his ass Im terrified A minute straight of him itching his ass he decides to just reach on down into them because why not? He's on the outside of the store, hands down his pants, itching his asshole with no shame or humanity with no witnesses but God and myself and I watch in horror as he reaches up sniffs his hand and opens the door.
