Before she met him, Mid had an idea of how Joshua could be because Clive spoke so much about him and about his need to see him again. But Mid thought he would be more similar to Clive, even if she knew they hadn't seen each other in years. That's what caught her off guard the most when they first met. She felt stupid for having an idea of how he'd be. Spoiler: he's much better than she imagined HAHA 🥰

They're both nerds and it brought them close quite easily when Joshua started helping her in her workshop, but Mid could also relate to him in some ways, even if they were not speaking about this at first. For example, both of them lost both of their parents and back in Kanver, Mid felt like she didn't really belong, she felt lonely, a bit like Joshua during all these years away. It has helped her seeing right through him from the start; she could read him quite easily.

Okay last one: Mid accepted her feelings for him one of the many times he was at the infirmary and she was at his side. She realized she just refused to lose him, and when his eyes lighten as he saw her, it was just "I love him. He loves me. And maybe it's complicated but I don't care anymore. He's worth it."
