So... have you transitioned from 'I just found out what G/t is' to 'Okay, I might have accidentally joined this community.' ?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts because G/t has so many potential settings, concepts and vibes, that I think tons more people could get into the 'fandom' (actually more of a trope).

But one of the major things driving people away is the mixed association with NSFW/kink stuff. Even the most wholesome G/t fluff feels like something weird I have to hide from friends/family. 😞

Feel free not to answer: but what were your initial impressions about the G/t fandom? How did they change as you learned more?

(first of all, this is like a really good ask-- I appreciate your insight on the matter haha ... what with me accidentally creating Wick's End as a G/T comic and coming into all this as an outsider)

Thank you!! It was a nice read; they did a good job writing. Unfortunately for me, I can't just enjoy media without analyzing it. It was interesting to see how another author wrote a story intentionally as G/T - setting up scenarios ;) and indulging in the element of physical contact as a love language.

While I hesitate to claim membership to any fandom as an identity, yes, I would say I am a G/T enjoyer among you. :) I appreciate how flexible it can be used to express themes like emotions, protection, vulnerability, disability, etc.

I'll admit, I was initially cautious because I did suspect it was a kink-oriented. As time went on, I came to see that G/T makes efforts to separate itself from the perverted sect off in another corner. The genuine feelings of earnestness, wholesomeness, and shared sense of vulnerability is what won me over. I love that understanding and taking care of one another is a foundation within the G/T community. Really, I can't think of the last internet community I came across and thought positively of-- if that means anything haha. That doesn't mean it doesn't have total weirdos too lol. I even lurk in the GTCon Discord VC occasionally while I work on Wick's End as a sort of parallel-play motivator >/////<

The reason I still don't tag Wick's End as G/T is because I don't want people reading this story thinking that was my intention. YES it is G/T, tropes and all, but I did not write it with the intention to indulge in that sort of fantasy. It's meant to be a storytelling aid that illustrates chronic burnout... which otherwise would be an invisible condition. I don't want outsiders to mistake this as written for a kink / community they don't belong to -- and at the same time -- I also don't want G/T community members to misinterpret it as fiction written specifically to entertain the trope.

I hope breaking this up in paragraphs + adding a pic made it less of an eye-sore haha. Thank you for asking such a personalized question!

When did you start writing?

Sometime in 2019/2020, before covid started. Late start, I know lol

Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?

No, not really. I am a fantasy romance girlie (gender neutral) through and through. It's really a rarity for me to branch outside the fantasy genre at all.

Is there an author (or just a fellow writer!) you want to emulate, or one to whom you’re often compared?

I've not been writing long enough nor do I have a wide enough reader base to be compared to anyone lol. Emulate though 🤔 I don't know. I do know that certain writers leave an impression on me. Or I'll admire their style or how they did some bit of worldbuilding or torture. But when I'm writing, I'm not consciously trying to be like them or to even reference the stuff I was admiring to try and emulate it. That being said... I swear, C.L. Wilson, I was not trying to emulate you. I couldn't even approach the depth and mastery of your epic 5 book fantasy (this one). But I also can't deny the similarities that turned up in my book despite me not having read that series for multiple years before writing it 😂

Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)?

My recliner in the living room or my (home) office. My office is the cooler option lol. I have a floor to ceiling built in bookshelf that my desk faces and a pretty ice blue rainbow backlit keyboard. However, I am having issues with both spaces currently. Nobody will leave me alone in the living room. And I'm in my office 8.5 hrs every goddamned day for work and really don't want to continue being in my office when I'm done. At least for a while anyway. It's smth I need to figure out so I can start writing again XD

What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse?

Uhhh. I wish I knew. Usually stuff will just hit me randomly and I have no control over when or where or why :')

Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?

Most likely? In that it's just more work for me to write an environment that isn't close to the one I live in. But, it's fantasy, so. 🤷‍♀️

Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?

Outcast/loneliness, finding a place to belong/found family, being enough, finding love without stipulations/compromises ... *deadpan* I'm so super surprised. Oh, and the suffering. We gotta have some of that :)

Right now, it's probably Carr from Hidden Depths. Carr is so much fun to write. There is smth very freeing about writing a char that really truly doesn't give a shit :)

Which of your characters would you be friends with in real life?

I could be friends with Alaia, but I'd never be able to keep up with her. Carr would probably have no patience for me lol. Kadin would amuse and annoy me and I could probably only tolerate him in small doses. Darian would intimidate me. Maybe Resh? Provided I could learn their version of sign language so I could talk with him.

Which characters would you dislike the most if you met them?

Any of the bad guys XD

Literally any comment. Any indication you read and enjoyed what I wrote. However that may come across, I treasure it :D

Look, I am terrible at identifying my own strengths XD Maybe characterization? Someone told me I did a good job with that once upon a time <3

Frequently lol. I need to write more 😂 See above. Apparently I cheated and borrowed from this question. I've also been told I do a good job with descriptions, like in a worldbuilding way. Which is fascinating to me, bc I can't see shit in my mind. I just make shit up and hope it works 😅

How do you feel about your own writing?

Depends on when I'm reading it lol. Honestly though, I can tell I've improved a lot from when I first started a few years ago. Mostly I'm proud of it when I'm not being embarrassed by the thought of someone reading some of the more... interesting... things I've written 😅.

If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write?

Probably. Only through writing can I fully characterize and flesh out the daydreams. Plus, it's a freaking treat to sit down with your own book and read it and enjoy it.

I'm very influenced. I want to make my friends happy! But I also will write what I enjoy in the parameters of my chosen genre. I just might incorporate things I otherwise might not of thought of. And if it ends up making me uncomfortable down the road, I can always remove it.

@emi12ly you didn't ask to remain anon, so I'll tag you. I'm glad that you remained civil towards me. But I'm not posting your ask in full (I rarely do for anyone, not even the gushy I love johanne too people. 😊 I love those posts though) bc I'm still the only one allowed to be longwinded on my posts. Lol

I think you've interpreted that in quite a negative way.

She has to tag all collabs, if she didn't she could get in legal trouble. Every single post. She was late on one, it's easy to miss one, but she corrected it, a day later, so no legal trouble there.

In the same way "annonce" (sp?) and the sunscreen co's name were littered over their party beach pics. Annonce was used to show Alex was in partnership with them just bc he was there. Her too. If he hadn't he could be accused of illegal activity.....like the one time he wore a coat and didn't immediately tag where he got it from. Haters came for him over that, calling him all sorts of things.

She was at the Hermes dinner, and post runway party remember "baby in hermes" photo she was there. And a brunch with Hermes people. She took a lot of the photos of him at that party. But true she wasn't at the show herself. She didn't even pose at the party with him. How is that self serving? Or putting herself before him? We got couple content later at a diner (it looked like a diner/bistro type place).

Also I think the idea that she should sit quietly in a corner, invisible, so that her light never shines at all bc doing so dims his light is misogynistic. That she should just never post anything bc it's "torture" for them is immature jealousy. Why should someone with her longstanding awesome career since 2016, with her talent, her looks, should be silent bc some fans of her boyfriend, think she should go sit quietly in a corner never to be seen (I've read that exact sentiment many times). It's misogyny and immature jealously, with a fringe of zero understanding about their industry and what it takes to survive and thrive in it.

I'm glad he included her in Paris. I don't remember how many photos there were total of her in Paris, but it wasn't a lot. But the very very few pics we do have. Less than 10 photos (if memory serves) and some people are acting like she posted 100s of only herself. Lol. This is ludicrous thinking.

Do you think she just tried on the Gavn clothes without them asking or agreeing? It's more likely that she was asked to try them on. How could she make that designer do anything they didn't want her to do? AHA doesn't have that much pull either.

You see desperate tagging to get a collab. I see she's tagging bc she already has the collab, she didn't get them to let her wear the clothes, have pictures taken inside the studio of her looking, and then leave the building for photos in a suit bc she didn't already have a deal with them. It's simple how it works they give her the clothes, she takes photos and mentions them. They get more views, they all win. It's a business of partnerships. Fashion and Hollywood are always intertwined. They're so intertwined its like one is an extension of the other. And everything with Hermes they'd both have to tag, bc it has to do with Hermes. Just bc she's his plus one to parties doesn't mean she can post Hermes events without tagging them.

Bc really think about it, they met this designer, sometime, were invited, and she was who the studio gave clothes to (whether or not she got to keep the sample is another mystery. I hope she did).

I disagree that she's selling the illusion she's an influencer. She hangs out with her friends, knits, bakes bread, makes cakes etc. Shows pics of her musical and boyfriend. That sounds like regular actor posts and not influencer-ish. She doesn't claim to be an influencer. That's your interpretation, maybe others as well, bc she was mentioned in an article about micro-influencers as being #11 in DK. But she's never acted like an influencer, I'd say that belongs more to Gee Hirst, she's always selling something, I don't blame her, she's got bills to pay. Girl gotta get her money somehow, I'd never disparage someone for how they choose to earn a living. Love GH. Literally advertising for products. Unless you mean influencer bc she's famous, lol. But perhaps I just think of influencers differently, people that sell actual products and not just their movies/musicals. Or with fashion bc Soren's been giving her dresses to wear for about 3-4 years now, but as I said acting and fashion go hand in hand.

As for Nattevagten premiere, you don't know for sure where she got it, you assume. Those same pics were all over the internet. But so what if she did? She took a pic of her boyfriend at his premiere and talked him and his movie up! She's supportive. I take pics and sometimes edit out the excess. But anyway past that premiere, She had to miss her own tv show premiere bc of work too. It was both their nights there but she was more focused on him and telling him how proud she was/is of him. Maybe she just wanted to make her own post, for her own boyfriend and took a public pic to do it. Lol it's not like there's some evil plan afoot. How is this an actual thing to try to lamely hold against her? How is this bad? You've never downloaded a photo and added your own caption to it?

She was also in a musical at that time, kudos for her for being so busy with Jersey Boys, the performance that night, to mark time out to send him some supportive love at his premiere. That to me is so nice. But I do love supportive couples. She was very busy, she could've not made time, it would be understandable and reasonable if she had waited to post the next day. But no, she made time for him, bc as they said they "prioritise each other." Edited to add, she did the same thing during Askepot for Call Me Dad.

As for being an art thief, she's not. I made a post entitled "about art" where I posted the laws. With links to those laws. Fine if you disagree with it, but hopefully it's not just bc of JM and only her, the double standards for JM are astounding and many.  But according to the law she's not a thief, and I don't think libelling people is legally ok, or morally ok either.

But at least we agree that that fashion show wasn't "his moment" and I'm sure he was invited bc of his followers and his recent Vogue photos/article. But, imo, that doesn't mean she should sit quietly by and be invisible. Clearly she was an asset in Paris bc the Hermes people had brunch with them, left comment on her post that they were Glad to have met her. They liked her, and that's never a bad thing for him. Hell it might have actually opened more doors for him, and her. I hope so. She said she was thankful, she doesn't owe fans a public explanation of who or what she's thankful for in a post that looks pretty self explanatory.

A bit about the AU:

Honestly, I don't have any clear cut thoughts on this, just many ideas that even contradict each other in parts... Which is why I probably won't write an actual fic for this, but if someone else feels inspired by my idea, feel free to adopt it for yourself!

H.G. of course works better as a scientist, but from characteristics she doesn't have a lot in common with the SHIELD ones

Some More OC Stuff

I have SIX Obey Me OC's now this is getting entirely out of hand RIP-

So I very recently decided my Obey Me OC, Muse (first pic below), was going to have a kid with at least one of their partners.

I'm still working on all the details, but meet Aska and Silas! You can probably guess which kid belongs to who lol. Tagging @paper-trash-bag since you mentioned you liked my OC stuff! Hopefully this is just as interesting! <3

Aska (bottom left) is from Muse and Simeon, and Silas (bottom right) is from Muse and Solomon. I'm toying with the idea of giving Aska another younger brother who would look exactly like Simeon but I'm not 100% sure about it yet?

And just for context, Muse, Solomon, and Simeon all live together in the same house and are a throuple/polyamorous.

Still kind of up in the air on what eye color Silas has since Muse has all blue eyes and Solomon has SOME blue in his eyes but also a hint of brown/hazel? Idk man there's a little bit of everything in there... Unfortunately the picrew I used for Silas is kind of limited in eye colors so I couldn't find a good hazel color to see what that might look like. :(

Some other fun facts about these two:

-Simeon was the one who named Aska while Muse named Silas

-Aska looks mostly like her father but her personality is more like Muse. You can't see it in the pic but she usually wears her hair in a small fluffy little ponytail at the back of her head

-Silas looks more like Muse other than the white hair but has more of Solomon's personality. The little curls in his hair are also from Muse :')

-Aska sees Solomon as a babysitter more than a father figure (less of an annoying babysitter and more of the fun kind) but will often go to him for advice on anything that she can't confide in Muse and Simeon for

-Uriel is Aska's godfather while Claire and Thirteen are her godmother(s)

-Same for Silas, except his godfather is actually Simeon, who he does see as a second father figure

-Aska sees Luke as sort of an endearing uncle who helped raise her even though they're close in age (should mention that Luke is older/more grown up by the time this story/plot takes place)

-Silas just thinks "Luke is annoying and uptight about Celestial Realm shit" ...in his words. lol. Really he's just jealous that Luke spends more time with Aska.

-Aska and Silas aren't that far apart in age (haven't figured out specifics yet)

-Both of them are somewhat immature but Silas can save face way better than Aska can

-Silas has a TERRIBLE sense of fashion (but at least he can cook! thanks, Simeon!). Mostly this is because he desperately wants to be seen as a separate entity from his parents and wants to be his own rebellious person

-Aska is disinterested in magic and the different realms; she just wants to mix music and be a DJ or dance and sing

-Silas is dedicated to his studies and magic but hates it at the same time; he hides away his carefree side because he wants to make his parents and others proud and surpass them. But at the same time he doesn't really want that burden...

-Silas got the short end of the stick when it came to his vision because of Muse's shitty eyesight and Solomon's millennia old genes, so he has to wear glasses lol

-Aska started out more attached to Muse as a child but grew closer to Simeon the older she got while Silas was more attached to Solomon when he was younger but became very attached to Muse as he got older

-Because Muse is Agender and uses They/Them pronouns, Aska gave them the nickname "Parental Unit/Parent" in leu of "Mom"

-The only exception to this is when Aska is in peril, feels unsafe, or when something is seriously wrong; she instinctively calls Muse "Mom" and that's their way of knowing that she needs saving from a situation or person(s)

-Silas's assigned sin is Pride

-Aska's assigned sin is currently undecided :/

i think it is mostly a result of trying to fit kira into a particular character stereotype where she doesn't really belong, if you actually pay attention to the show she is one of the most continuously joyous and loving and empathetic people there (and only cold or harsh where it's absolutely warranted)... she's not a mean person at all lol

Yeah, I completely agree with you on this, I too think it’s a way to ‘meme-fy’ Kira into a more digestible character type that’s way too narrow for her.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m aware that it’s likely just people joking around on the internet [insert old man yells at cloud pic] but I can’t say I particularly like this trend. I personally like these characters (and their relationships) for their specificity, not so much because they fit a character type or a relationship dynamic. And you said it really well, Kira is actually one of the most loving people on the show, despite everything that happens to her!

I find the trend particularly infuriating in the case of Kira being called ‘mean’ because it’s been said over and over how rare it was for a show in the 90s to have a fictional woman who was allowed to be angry the way Kira was, largely without being ‘punished’ because of it. So I hate when people end up doing worse than DS9, which we know is a less than perfect show even when it comes to Kira, and start calling her mean when she never did anything to justify that beside having a temper (which is a very different thing than being mean!)

When I see that kinda thing in the tags I’m like, I know it’s a joke but words still have meaning.
