Sonic is making Amy time him on how fast he can make an acceptable taco. The good news is he can make a taco really fast, which is to be expected, of course. The bad news is that he’s pushing the definition of “acceptable” with each taco he makes. Can he put all the ingredients in the shell in under a second? Yes he can. Are they going to stay in the shell for more than a second? Almost definitely not. Tails is out getting more ingredients. Someone informed Tangle that he was doing this and she’s en route to the HQ to cheer him on. Amy thinks she could be doing something more productive, but she refuses to leave just in case he admits defeat. Every time he finished the taco something ends up being wrong with it, most commonly the shell shatters, though this round it was him forgetting the lettuce. Sonic refuses to give up until he makes the perfect taco in the perfect time.

Shadow is babysitting Cream. At the moment they’re in town buying sweets for Vanilla when she returns (and for themselves, obviously). He doesn’t do this often, mainly because he thinks there are far better options than him. Namely Gemerl, but he was brought along with Vanilla. So that leaves him, he supposes. Shadow enjoys looking after Cream at least, she’s a delight, any reasonable person would say. A very kind heart in a world that sorely needs it, and a will that rivals some of the strongest people he knows. She’s also convinced that he “needs more good things to happen to him”, in her words. He has no clue how she came to that conclusion. Strangest of all, he’s sure that Sonic could have filled his role as her guardian (despite being a magnet for trouble), but as Vanilla said when he arrived, Cream asked if Shadow specifically could come over today. It’s not like he could refuse. She tugs at his hand and requests a chocolate milkshake in exchange for him giving the other treats she had asked for to “Miss Rouge”. It’s unspeakably hard to say no, so he doesn’t. She requests also that he get something for himself, too, which he hasn’t. So he does. She recommends a strawberry parfait, so that’s what he gets. It ends up being delicious.
