#these short stories feel less like random little unrelated snippets to tide people over until the next game?

Like, i really like this storys focus on Hunger demons as not just preying on hunger for food. Its also the hunger for more, for better, for different. Its not quite "I want" or "i could be tempted" as "i need".

And specifically it preys on the warden in the story with "yearning for a different life". It picks up on the fact Antoine didnt really have a choice to be a warden (it was that or slow death of the Blight), that Antoine puts on a happy face but is clearly not ok about the whole thing (He doesnt want to pay attention to the Darkspawn-sense, he has nightmares of the attack that led to his case of Blight!)

It recognises that the Wardens would probably defeat it, and so bites Antoine. It cant act straight away, because theres no hunger. But it knows, deep down, there will be a day. It wont be tomorrow, but it might be next year. Or next decade.

Aaannnd Antoine is likely not unique among the wardens. Someone who resents their fate, because they had no choice. In fact, pretty much the entire Warden order is made of Conscripts, Criminals offered this life to "make something of it", or others who would otherwise die of the Blight and whose death was only delayed.

A fortress full of people who feel like that is probably the worst place for there to be a demon that can feed on feelings of "I want to be something else."

Now, we dont really know the timeline for everything in Tevinter Nights, but i'm pretty sure its all Post-Inquisition? So a werewolf problem probably isnt why the Wardens went quiet in the first place (I also think theres a line in Trespasser that says "yeah its not serious?" Someone brought that up when i said Wardens might have gone silent because they had baby griffons. Havent got to it yet myself so we'll see)

.... But we do know theres a mission IN Weissaupt in Veilguard :)c

I'm slowly re-reading Tevinter Nights before Veilguard and so far I've noted these as Things Of Interest:

Possibly a human mage living with a band of Dalish in Arlathan Forest

Ghilan'nains Horrible Pools Of Creature Fusion (x 11)

Whatever the hell the Cekorax is. A weird bulb and tentacle creature, of unknown origin, that collected heads. Where did it come from? Why? Who knows!

& There is someone slightly possessed with a hunger demon that's waiting for an opportune moment to do Real Possession (turn someone into a werewolf) and that person is either:

A) a kid in a Nowhere Village

Or more likely B) a grey warden, that the demon was actively targeting, who was on their way to Weissaupt :)c
