I’m sorry one direction WHAT

OKAY DEEP BREATH.

For the TMA Big Bang last year I wrote a fic, which is now titled Rewrite the Rulebook. That’s a lyric from the Vienna Tang song Stray Italian Greyhound, an excellent Jmart song.

That was not the fic’s original title! It was originally called “These Inconvenient Fireworks”. When the promo post for the fic went out, I had an anon politely inform me that actually, that was the name of one of the most popular explicit One Direction fics. Even one of my close friends came forward to tell me that, while they hadn’t read it, they knew of its name. I had unknowingly named my fic the same thing as the RPF equivalent of Twist and Shout.

So THEN @bisexualoftheblade the absolute mad man who was modding the Big Bang and whom I DIDNT EVEN KNOW AT THE TIME takes it upon himself to read the whole fic and liveblog it back to me. It was... very very bad, according to Cai who read the entire thing in a day.

So I change the fic title to different lyrics from the same song and we think it’ll all be fine and THEN it turns out that the song? Stray Italian Greyhound? Beloved song about a grumpy pessimist opening up to the possibility of love used in many a fan context? Was written about one Barack Obama. Thank you and goodnight!
