Really need to do a lot of research to hammer out all my thoughts about supply procurement and food logistics in the founders era, depending on how fast and loose we want to play with historical social classes.

Because. Like. Forget about ideas about capitalism fueling merchant lords that heavily influence the political landscape. We could very well be talking about bottom of the social ladder status for artisans and merchants instead.
