Anyt thoughts you have regarding Kirk Thornton? He did Dorcas, Surtur and Yen’fay.

AH YES, I LIKE THIS ONE. THIS WILL BE FUN.

Ok I wanna start off this review with an obligatory statement I usually make whenever I open my mouth about Kirk Thornton:

Kirk Thornton catches seriously unfair flak for voicing Shadow the Hedgehog. Now Jason Griffith and David Humphrey are definitely THE Shadows for me, but Kirk actually does a great Shadow voice, he just gets constantly and horribly fucked over by outside issues, namely either the cringe-ass writing we’ve had since Colors, or the horrible audio mixing they had in Forces. But he IS a good Shadow voice.

In FEH, he does play Yen’Fay, Dorcas, Iago (under a pseudonym of Ron Allen), and Surtr. I think I’ve heard that he was only just recently credited for playing Surtr, but I’m not sure. Outside of FEH, he’s Shadow (and Orbot), Askeladd from Vinland Saga, Saix from Kingdom Hearts (haven’t played that series though), and Jubei from BlazBlue. Plus many others.

His performances are SOLID. While his role as Dorcas is pretty casual and laid-back (but still good), his other roles are absolutely outstanding in how much he gets to emote. Yen’Fay’s voice is quiet and cold while simultaneously being smooth as butter, it’s absolutely mesmerizing to listen to him talk. And his line about Say’ri is full of such denial, especially when you hear him talk about her finding good company with Chrom. Makes me think that this Yen’fay is actually the one who died in the battle with Chrom, rather than the one from the other world where he killed Say’ri instead. Iago is so much fun to listen to, his voice is just as greasy as his hair is, lol. Each line has such a high level of inflection that really drives home how narcissistic and dishonest he is; even if I don’t much care for him, he was definitely handled with good care in his art and voice. But man, SURTR. That role is the crown jewel of his performances. The raw energy he brings to the lines while he roars about burning everything in his grasp is just phenomenal, and honestly it’s so criminal how slow FEH is to give the male book villains (or any male book characters) any kind of good seasonal alt outside of the obligatory New Years alts. Pirate Surtr was probably the coolest fucking alt we had for any of the book characters; definitely not the only good one but certainly the coolest. Unfortunately the only book villain who gets any attention is Freyja, and we all know it’s only because of her big breasts. Where’s my ninja/Halloween Hel, IS? Where’s my Christmas Fafnir? Or my Valentine’s Embla? But I’ll settle for now with Surtr finally getting a much deserved alt and Resplendent, especially when the new lines and art are so badass.

I think he fits all these characters perfectly like a glove, and I would like to see more alts for Yen’fay and Surtr. And like I mentioned before, if FEH were ever going to replace Joe J. Thomas for any reason, I think Kirk would be a good replacement simply due to sounding decently similar and having not lost his energy like Joe did.

I would definitely say he has amazing range. Between his roles, almost none of them sound like he’s using the same voice, even if they all sound pretty recognizable. They’re very vastly different characters and he does an amazing job giving them different qualities to their lines.

I actually feel comfortable giving Kirk a 10/10. He’s a fantastic actor who got the perception of his acting skills screwed over by how badly his Shadow was handled. He’s definitely an actor whom I’m always happy to hear in media.

Breakfast in Bed

A/N: okay so im actually going to tweak the prompt slightly because the whole lady and the tramp thing weirds me out personally - like if you’ve seen Lila Lila where he and his girlfriend like makeout with breadsticks I cringeeeee (its the food idk lol sorry). Also I made this fem reader I hope that is alright, I just went where my mind took me

“Helmut!” you whine from your place on the bed. The pillows behind your back were almost too soft.

“Just another minute, Schatz,” he calls back from down the hall.

Your husband requested that you stay in bed while he busied himself with something in the kitchen. You weren’t entirely sure what he was up to, even with the clanking of pots and pans, but he was insistent that you stay put under the blankets. He had nearly come running to push you back into bed when you got up to use the ensuite bathroom. At your look of annoyance he retreated, but not until after he’d seen you under the covers once again.

After the first 15 minutes you grew bored. You cracked open the novel you were reading, following the lines on the page as you rubbed your growing stomach absentmindedly. Six months into your pregnancy and the Baron was becoming more attentive every single day. It would be overbearing if it wasn’t so cute. Deep down you knew that it was just his fears of losing another child that made him so worrisome at times. When you had asked him about it he just replied that he wanted to make sure that he didn’t miss anything. 

Finally, you hear him walking the hallway to your shared bedroom. He bumps the door open with his hip; in his hand is a tray. Helmut sits on the bed beside you. He places the tray on your lap. Thick, cinnamony slices of french toast are stacked tall, plump and juicy berries line the plate dusted with a hint of powdered sugar. There is even a cup of cherry blossom tea, his, and now your, favorite. Everything smells heavenly.

“Hel - what’s all this for?” You can’t hold back the grin on your face.

“Breakfast, of course.”

You huff a small laugh, “well I can see that. I didn’t know you knew how to make french toast.” The tea is the perfect temperature when you take a sip.

“I didn’t. But with patience and experience, Draga, a man can do anything.” 

Cutting into a piece of the toast you take a bite. You moan around the flavors that burst on your tongue. The next piece you feed to your husband, not wanting him to be neglected of his culinary genius.

“Try the berries, they are fresh from Marta’s garden,” he offers, holding up a strawberry to your lips. You take the fruit, your tongue brushing his fingertips lightly. Marta, your housekeeper, had a greenthumb and was always supplying you with fresh fruits and vegetables. In return, you would invite her to dinner once a week in thanks. 

The two of you ate, savoring each morsel. When the food was gone you sat in companionable silence for a few moments. “Thank you for breakfast,” you offer. His hand rested on top of your bump, thumb brushing along the fabric of your shirt. “You are such a good husband, you know that?”

“This is not about me, Draga. Today is Mother’s Day. You deserve to be treated to the finest of things, as my beautiful wife and the mother of my child.”

Heat rises in your cheeks. You look away, suddenly bashful. “Hel… I don’t think it counts until after the baby is born,” you laugh.

“Nonsense. You are carrying our baby, that makes you a mother. If I had it my way you would be brought breakfast in bed every morning, wear only the finest silks and jewels and furs, I would give you everything that you could ever desire. You would live like the Baroness you are.” He says it so matter-of-factly.

Shaking your head with silent laughter you hook your finger into his collar, pulling him down for a soft kiss. His lips taste of the sweet berries and the spice of the french toast. “How about instead I just be your loving wife-” you scrunch of your nose “-who would like some more strawberries.” 

With a small bow Helmut gets off the bed to fetch you more berries; “your wish is my command.”

Tbh I just want to see zemo in just an apron lol
