Mildly uninformed thoughts abt each WNBA team after the first weekend in reverse alphabetical order

- Mystics are so back (we just need to not shoot like 15% from 3 and then we'll be fine) (and also not have the other team get 30+ free throws) (but also streaky shooting was my fear coming into this season) (smh)

- jewell loyd 30 ppg season on 30 field goal attempts 🫡 (and then I guess Jordan horston will be their second leading scorer) hashtag real noelle quinn basketball (probably getting a top 3 pick) (but they will try their best to be competitive so can't hate too much)

- Brittney Griner is playing too well for the rest of the team to be letting her down (grandma ur great and all but ur also chucking shots and flopping please stop) (if only they had Skylar available) (BG better be an all star if she stays healthy)

- I get why the Liberty play Dolson bc that contract is a lot but also free han xu pls and thank you (other than that uh i think the liberty will figure stuff out eventually) (but also free my brethren)

- scoring 3 points in a quarter is a least incompetent Minnesota sports team moment tee bee aych… what does Rachel Banham even do (looks around to see if she has shooters) (probably not im safe) (but yeah maybe play aerial powers more and that could lead to more wins?)

- its only one game but im like surprised the sparks are utilizing their shooting talent… like woah. night and day difference. maybe i had some preconcieved notions abt a curt miller offense but i was pleasantly surprised (did expect the sparks to be better, but that was a statement).

- aces are good do i rly need to say anything i kinda hope hammon is suspended for longer tho bc that initial punishment is kind of a slap on the wrist... other than that they are title favorites unless some disastrous injury streak occurs

- I feel like the strategy for the fever on offense should be to give the ball to aliyah boston or nalyssa smith and then get out on the way, esp if the guards aren't having a good shooting night… if only they had a pure playmaker 🤔

- i think arike is pretty fun when she makes her shots but the wings should probably spread out their fga more... also free maddy siegrist mayhaps.

- i think the sun are good. Very physical. It’s almost like nothing changed. real alyssa thomas ball but also a sign of love winning so maybe i should be kinder. they'll probably be the 3 or 4 seed and the #disrespeCT will continue

- maybe James Wade was cooking?? (will be interesting to see how Mabrey fits in) (she better ball out bc that contract is certainly something) (in any case, scrappy team, we shall see if they can be a contender)

- would be nice if the dream had another big... i don't think they're very discombobulated but they are still figuring stuff out, esp minutes for the backcourt
