i have an idea for a story

i have the main character sorted out but not really the rest of the details.

name: nessa (no last)

sex: f

gender: f

features: has eye-mask on most of the time (reasons tbd)

anyway at first i wanted it to surround my theroy of time which is everything that happens is supposed to happen, and there is no changing it. but im having a hard time establishing a clear villan and the significance of a side protagonist.

but then that got me thinking, whats the point of the eye-mask? ofc i drew her with an eye mask cause im horrible at eyes (im still teaching myself to draw). but if she has one, i want there to be a reason. so i thought of the idea that anyone who looks into her eyes gets sent to a realm where they live out their worst fears (keeping it PG-13 tho, ofc) and that would play into the idea of a possible love interest. but that a n d time travel? at that point i feel like im complicating things because there's too many moving parts.

and the side protagonist with nessa is something i really want to stress about too because everyone knows no good story is complete without aMoR between the main character. so what would they be like? what could they do, if anything, that an average person cant?

essentially, i just need someone to write this story with me.

Olicity Tropetastic Awards 2019 Update!

Hello, lovely fandom friends!

We have been hard at work trying to come up with the best plan for this year’s awards since our last post. In light of the recent news of Emily’s departure (😭), we know most of the fandom will not be watching Season 8. Because of this, we’ve revised our plan a bit for the awards.

Originally the plan was to do 20 weeks (10 tropes total spaced out every two weeks). With the first 8 tropes being based on seasons. We’ve decided to go ahead as planned with the first 7 tropes, so Seasons 1-7. Tropes 8 and 9 aren’t decided yet (definitely AU based!), but Trope 10 is special. We wanted to do something to honor Emily and Felicity. She has been such a vital part of Arrow, OTA, and Olicity. She is an inspiration for so many and we love and will miss her so much. So in honor of her, Trope 10 will be Felicity related fics. We were thinking they could be fics related to Overwatch, Smoak Tech, Felicity’s origin story, and being a wife and mother, etc. There are a ton out there we know, so it should be so fun reading those!

Now, to the fun part! We have created a blog specifically for the awards! Last year, we went on AO3 and tried to find fics for each trope ourselves. That sometimes proved to be tricky, simply because there are such a wide range of fics out there. So this year to make things easier on us, we’d like to ask writers to please submit their fics related to each trope! You can either message us, put the fic in our ask inbox, or tag us in a post. Of course if we don’t get enough submissions, we’ll go searching, but figured this might be the easiest solution! New blog information is at the end of this post. :)

I know this might be a bit confusing, so below is the schedule for the awards. These are the dates we will be reading the fics. The final date is when the awards will be given out! We’d ask that all of our fantastic writers have their fics submitted a week before we start reading, just so we can assign the fics to all of our fandom friends who offered to help read the fics and give out the awards!

5/20-6/3: Season 1 - Tommy feels, Malcolm Merlyn craziness, OTA formation, Fetus Olicity, Lian Yu.

6/3-6/17: Season 2 - Bratva, Olicity angst, Slade goodness, OTA, Theroy, Isobel drama, CEO!Oliver, Russian escapades.

6/17-7/1: Season 3 - Al-Sah-Hottie, Olicity UST, Ray Palmer drama/Love triangles, Dyla, Olicity 3x20 smut.

7/1-7/15: Season 4 - Ivy Town fluff and smut, Damien Dahrk, Diggle’s backstory with his brother, fall out of Laurel’s death, Donna Smoak!

7/15-7/29: Season 5 - Prometheus, Olicity breakup angst, Mayor!Oliver, 5x20 smutty goodness.

7/29-8/12: Season 6 - REWRITES! (Only slightly joking...not really at all!), Olicity wedding, Queen family feels, OTA angst.

8/12-8/26: Season 7 - Prison arcs, Olicity love letters, Reunited/pregnant Olicity, FFW Queen family, Mia/William bonding, Emiko/Oliver dynamic.

8/26-9/9: AU fics - TBD

9/9-9/23: AU fics - TBD

9/23-10/7: Felicity related fics - Smoak Tech, Overwatch, Felicity’s origin storyline, Wife, Mother, Pregnancy.

I hope that breakdown helps clarify things a bit. Now, we wanted to take things a step further as well. As we were talking about the awards, We thought instead of watching S8 without Felicity, maybe right after the awards, doing a final rewatch as a fandom? We wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts were on that. Of course nothing has been decided, but we thought it’d be a good way to commemorate this amazing show/couple that has brought all of us together. Let us know what you think, and we’ll decide mid summer if it’s something we’ll continue with after the awards.
