Thinking about how Terry taking on the Morrigan is framed in X-Factor (2020) as “Terry did this so Lorna wouldn’t destroy the world” but when you actually read the arc in X-Factor (1986) it’s actually “Terry did this because Lorna was hurting and she wanted to help her.”

Lorna is in pain, she’s traumatized and is so overcome with grief that she’s gone nonresponsive - and Terry who knows what it is to grieve so completely wants to make things better for her- so she takes on the mantle and in doing so has to leave Lorna behind.

The arc is fundamentally “Terry is willing to sacrifice her humanity to give Lorna comfort, even if it means removing herself from Lorna’s life.”

Both tellings are good and gay AF, but like the actual arc from X-Factor (1986) just hits different yknow?
