I've had to explain my foot tattoo like four times in the last 2 weeks and I've had it for yonks so it's not like I've never explained it before it's just that not ONCE when I was nineteen did I think about what it would be like to explain to people who enquired. Also after about 3 or 4 years I grew out of the particular notions that led to getting such a tattoo.

Anyway I don't regret the tattoo as such I know why I made the decision to get it and it's fine but I do wish Stanley Kubrick didn't exist ever and also that I had thought of a compelling way to explain the tattoo that gets people onside instead of explaining it defensively because of both Kubrick and the subject matter. Which doesn't actually have anything to do with him at all by the way. Except that we both saw value in the same book one time I guess.
