while i think that most people do nickname their pokemon i rarely come up with nicknames for people's pokemon in pkmn-aus because a) im bad at names at the best of times b) coming up with names that fit what that character would choose for their pokemon is HARD. BUT! the only exception to this is reigen because we have insight into how he names animals in the form of uu-chan: as has been pointed out elsewhere, "uu" is essentially the japanese equivalent of english "awoo", meaning that reigen is supremely uncreative when it comes to animal names and he literally just. yeah heres my dog uhhhhh Bark. cool
