I got a few cheap months of audible, which means audiobook credits. Can anyone recommend like, well narrated 40k audiobooks that are good stand alone? Do they have decent audiodramas? And like.... any stupidly long but good books are welcome.

If it's any help, I LOVE Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Stormlight archives being narrated by Micheal Kramer and Kate Reading. So I'm used to 50+ hour long audiobooks but I understand that is not normal lol, and I like their dry-er delivery.

Honestly ive kinda been drawing all my life! I hope that doesnt sound dumb cuz obviously almost everyone drew pictures when they were kids, but i know that it’s been a consistent hobby for me since i was little. By the time i was in 3rd grade I was hoarding notebooks to draw in. Cuz that’s something fun about me: i had a real huge habit of drawing in things that werent sketchbooks. Through middle school and beyond I did buy/receive sketchbooks, but I started out with various kinds of notebooks. One I had from like 2nd grade was like a hardcover, stationary-type notebook that I drew cats in lol, and I have 2 velvet lisa frank notebooks from 3rd grade. In high school and college I had a really bad habit of drawing in the margins on my notes and on handouts the teacher/professor would give. Those classes where the prof just prints out all the notes beforehand and gives them to you to follow along? Oh man, I spent so many classes barely listening while I drew on them! I also used to draw on my physics homework and tests and sometimes I even got extra credit for them (thank you jeff :D). I actually have a folder of various drawings I’ve kept from that 8yr time period and a lot of them are on classwork 😂

Obviously, I’ve been doing a lot of digital art lately, which I’m sure is what u were more curious about rather than the shit about drawing on my homework. I got a surface pro as a graduation gift in 2016 bc prior to that i had a wacom tablet and a janky ass laptop, so the gift was kinda a 2-in-1: i can do schoolwork AND art easily! i like digital art a lot and honestly im still learning new things abt it every time i draw. I use Leonardo currently (i’ll skip that story) but I started out doing digital art on sketchfu WITHOUT the wacom tablet in maaaaybe 2012??? 2011??? does anyone on this site remember sketchfu? Honestly couldnt even tell u how i found that site hahah the internet was just full of wonders back in the day. RIP sketchfu. Once i got the tablet tho some time later i used sketchfu still (i think) but also gimp and krita i believe.

Oh i suppose I should mention that i took art all four years of highschool and also minored in it in college! So it’s something i did academically as well as for fun. I keep thinking about going to art school for realsies but idk. I’m already $$$ in debt from my first degree i dont feel like adding to that 😅😓

Ok now for the second part of your question: I’ve also pretty much always done fan art! Ive never really been one for OC’s, EXCEPT for the self-insert superhero double life “comics” i wrote about a poodle named Sassy when i was in third grade. And then the knock off “comics” i wrote at a later time which honestly it was weird that i did a knock off of my own thing rather than just adding them to the original or making it a spin off with at least one of the og characters. Cuz it wasnt a spin off!! But anyway there wasnt really much to any of these characters; i just needed vessels to get my weird ideas out.

So anyway yeah most of what ive ever drawn has been fan art or self portraits, because its just easier for me to take characters that already exist and bend them to my will (artistically). Well excluding art assignments in school i guess because i would usually have to draw something specific and therefore not something self indulgent. But yeah ive drawn for lots of fandoms like the earliest i remember is warrior cats. Then theres things like pokemon and warriors and random other books i read thru middle school (i used to read a LOT but now im practically illiterate); spn, sherlock, and marvel through high school; and then marvel and bttf thru the end of hs and beyond. Idk i also have always loved looking at other peoples fan art and so im like “shit i wanna do that too!”. Tho i will say marvel was my biggest fandom and the one i had the longest interest in, so that was probably where the passion REALLY came from cuz I was drawing marvel stuff for such a long time (tho not posting shdjsk u have to trust me), but ive been doing fan art forever :)

(Of course, a lot of the fan art i was making prior to recently was drawn in lined notebooks or on homework sheets or what have you, and I wasn’t posting really any of it, but i was still making it and a good chunk of it still exists. Oh i should also mention most of it was with pencils or ballpoint pens like i wasnt doing anything too fancy. There was some digital art in the highschool-college time frame but it also really wasnt…much. Honestly i barely posted any of it here but I know some of it’s on deviantart)

I cant pinpoint the exact time I started getting more “serious” about my art in general, but i know the first pandemic lockdown gave me more free time and i was less stressed about schoolwork so i just kinda had a good outlet. (Tho i will say that prior, I had been in a life drawing club for a short while, and i had also been working on a personal sketchbook project that had me pretty ~inspired~ to do art. Also i watched twin peaks around this time and it inspired a lot of Feelings and i was making funky collages and other art pieced that were sometimes related to that. Some of those are on deviantart)

Honestly I think the Big thing with my digital art was coincidentally getting back into BTTF the summer of the 35th anniversary bc the fandom here was THRIVING and i was like “oh shit wait i want to contribute!” But as i kept drawing i kept wanting to improve and that leads us to right now where im constantly trying new things (whether subtle or obvious) and challenging myself to do full body drawings with different poses, and doing screencap redraws and what have you for various reasons (backgrounds, proportions, pose, etc)

So yeah :) Basically I’ve been doing fan art forever (I didnt even get into all the mediums ive tried but that’s another conversation bc this is already so long and convoluted) and it’s kinda coincidental that ive suddenly really gotten back into it and have improved dramatically in such a short time. this is not what yall signed up 4 when u made the mistake of following my blog, but i wanna talk bout some ideas i had about a new toy line so imma ramble into the internet void.

I like to keep up with toy lines that come out and in that vein i also like to trash talk blindboxes when theyre done wrong and praise them when done right. In an ideal world you could buy just one blind box and have fun with what you get, and minimal waste. theres also the want to be happy with what u get even if it wasent the ONE you wanted, I usually see this done best with quality in the product and every character being well designed. i once saw a doll line that had poofy scented hair and you could see what color hair u get through the packaging, which makes a ton of sense to me cus to a child the hair color on a hair centric doll is the most important thing.

all of this was context to talk about a new toy line ive been following where u unwind a ball of different yarns to find a cute plush animal and all the stuff u need to make a buncha crafts. now i can talk about what i think would be cool in the next series of this toy line,

1 i think it would be rad if the box it came in looked like a lil house and the window u see the yarn ball through looked like the window of the house.

2 I think the outer most yarn on the ball should indicate something about the pet, a lot of blindboxes will split their characters into themes like "fairy tale" or "desserts" and i think having a yarn color scheme for each theme would help in making sure that u get something u like. another idea in this vein would be having the box house from idea one have something on it to indicate what kinda animal u r getting like a horse box would look like a stable or a dog house has a dog bone outside.

3 they should switch up some of the crafts, rn we got pom poms, frienship bracelets, a pet collar and a bed. their social media also shows different methods to do each craft which is cool. I think some crafts they could have in the future are things like fingerknitting (maybe starting with a pet scarf and working up to sewing the scarves together into a blanket for your pet), sewing together a lil bag so u can take ur pet on adventures, if they dont make the box a cute reusable house they could make a cut out loom or a box weaving project where you cut slits n the box an weave the yarn to make it look like a basket. i also like the idea of making pet clothes and stuff too. maybe they could include a lil knitting spool in the center instead of the pom pom maker. another tool that could go in the middle is a friendship bracelet circle loom thingy and in the mold of these things they could make it look like a dinner table or somethin. it seems like theyre aiming the base craft at a younger audience and using the online videos to show more complex ways of doing it, which is good but kids are smarter than a lot of people give em credit for, they can do a lot more kinds of crafts. last note on this, the fluffy most "yarn" on the outside works great for pet bed stuffing but if theres no pet bed project you could change that outermost yarn to a bulky fuffy kind for finger knitting.

4 they outghta think through the yarn colors more, more different colors in each ball so each of ur diys look different, but also having the colors make sense for the pet (which is why splitting the pets into themed groups would be a good idea(another thought is to have one of each animal per theme)) and any charms they include could be better matched to the pet

5 how are there not any traditional yarn pets (sheep alpaca rabbit ect) ?! i know all the yarn is acrylic but it would be so cute. on the instructions there should be a "fluff your pet out" step on the instructions (just write it cuter like "give your new pal a few pats to smooth them out" or something) its not vital but i think it would add something nice.

6 the lil charms for friendship bracelet (if they redid that craft) would be cooler if they were a bit more pet accessory esq, like it could be a charm but it also is a comb (blunt and wide tooth to keep the yarn hair nice) or a pet toy charm like a little mouse or a

7 the youtube should expand to more accessible crafts 4 kids, i remember being a youngin and wanting to do crafts from a book but lacking all the supplies, with this u r only missing sisscors and you can take the knowledge from these crafts and use whatever yarn u want for them and re do most of them missing clips or charms. They could show how to knit with pencils or maybe even show some papercrafts like a simple origami drawer to hold your pets belongings.

final thoughts (if you made it this low i commend your fortitude though my poor grammar) I like this toy line and can see how it could be a toy that a child gets and treasures for many years, i also like the different ways to do each craft. I hope that this toy line dosent end up one of the more "collect them all!" types cuz while that might work well for the instagram moms with youtube channels where they get paid to review toys it dosent work as well for the kid whose been saving up their pocket money and wants to get something that they will have a ton of fun with.

Peter Parker; Strangers in the night

This is my very first imagine that I wrote months ago for my friend and just found it LOL but I wanna share it here so im sorry if theres errors or smth but yeah hope y’all like it.

The wind roared with fury over the towers of Queens, New York. A shadow figure loomed onto a high skyscraper. The small frame of the mysterious figure got the attention of a nearby red and blue boy. With catlike silence, the red and blue suit was behind the dark figure. “If you wanted to sneak up on me it didn’t work.” The sarcastic and dry voice came from the small figured preached on the building. An awkward chuckle escaped the boy and within 30 seconds, the small female was standing up, standing on the ledge. “Bye spider-boy.” And without missing a beat, the female saluted her departure and jumped. Spider-man’s eyes widened at the sudden movements and he instantly leaps into action, ready to save the young woman who jumped. But to his disbelief, there was so body in the air, nor on the ground. the young woman simply, vanished.

It’s been a week since Peter Parker’s strange encounter with the black figured woman. Every night on patrol he would keep his eyes out for her, wanting them to cross paths again.

The noisy and crowded halls of midtown high made my ears want to burst. I pushed through the many teenagers, desperate to get to my locker. With a final push through the crowd my small body collided with my blue locker and I gave a sigh of relief before putting in my locker combination. “YO Y/L/N” the booming voice echoes the halls. “Crap.” i whisper, leaning my head against the cool locker. “Yes, Flash?” I sweetly ask the male. “So I was, Uh, wondering. I gotta party this weekend, wanna come? it’ll be fun baby girl.” Half way through Flash Thompson’s sentence, he winks and grabs at his junk. My nose crinkles in disgust at the teenage boy and say, “No thanks Flash. I have family plans. Maybe next time!” I smile sweetly before grabbing the books i need from my locker, and walk to first period.

When I get home to my small apartment in Queens that afternoon, I immediately run to my room and grab my skin tight black uniform. I smile while i run my hands down the soft fabric, mixed with leather. Most people have some life changing moment to want to become a “superhero” but I had always wanted to help people. I took various fighting skill classes from age 4 to age 15. I knew how to take care of myself, and when the infamous “Spider-man” took on the streets of Queens, New York, i knew I could too. So i made this costume and my other gadgets and started around 3 months ago. I go mostly unnoticed, which means Spider-man gets my credit for the job, but it doesn’t bother me. I would rather help people than be on the front page news. But i can admit I chuckle when I think about how confused spider-man must be when he gets credit for the job he didn’t do.

After the sun goes down i walk into my room and put on my suit. the fabric and leather are perfect. Soft but sturdy fabric reaches around my chest and abdomen, and runs down my legs. Patches of leather are on my back, knees, elbows, and around my breasts. The boots I wear have a tiny heel, it doesn’t get in the way but it does give me some style. My hair in a pin straight high ponytail and a black mask covers my eyes and cheekbones. The burgundy lipstick i wear makes my teeth look whiter than normal and makes me eyes pop. I smile in the mirror and get to my balcony window. With a small push, i’m out the window and jumping through the night.

I sit on a ledge, my feet dangling, off a building and scan the streets below. The sound of cars driving by has become a constant and I slightly smile at the noise. “Funny meeting you here.” A boyish voice breaks the almost silent air. I give a dramatic sigh and stand up. “What do you want spidey?” I put my hand on my hip and give him my best ‘annoyed’ look. “Who are you?”

The question only mildly surprised me. He had never seen me before last week so of course he had questions. I only hoped he would give something a little more original off for out first official meeting. “I’m helping.” My statement had a ‘duh’ factor to it and it made him frown slightly. “But i’m spider-man. I don’t need help.” I furrow my brows and frown at his whining behavior. “Chill. I don’t want to steal the spotlight. Just want to take some of the load off you.” I put my hands up in mock surrender and lift my eyes to meet his. When I looked into his mask I had the urge to take it off and see the color of his eyes. Were they bright and blue? or dark and brown? Would they hold secrets and built up anger or an innocence in them? The thoughts of wanting to see my fellow “superheroes” eyes made my cheeks flame up. The sounds of sirens broke our trance and we darted our heads to the noise. “That’s my cue!” I yelled and began running towards the ledge. “Not if I get there first!” said spider-man and he shot his webs into the air, swinging off.

These strange encounters became more frequent over the next few weeks. He would find me on some ledge, we would talk and then some crime or emergency would bring us back to reality. I was beginning to become more and more curious to this boys identity. He was obviously well built, not super tall but not the shortest either. He had a voice that sounded like he just finished puberty but then he also had that vibe that he was maybe older? The curiosity was killing me. So one night i asked, “Will we ever show each other who we are?” I had my head rested upon his shoulder, so my question made my head joint at his sudden surprise. “Would you like to know who I am?” he answered my question with a question. “Very much yes.” I stated. “Then we should reveal ourselves.” His proclamation made me lift my head up with admiration. “really?” The question came out small and high pitched. He nodded and we both re adjusted ourselves to where we were sitting criss cross in front of each other. We put our hands on each others masks and take deep breaths. “Wait.” I say. his hands drop to his sides, thinking we weren’t going to reveal ourselves. I lift his mask up just above his lips and breath nervously. “Can I kiss you?” my words don’t seem to surprise him. He nods and I smile. I place my lips onto his and he begins to move our lips together in sync. I place my hands on his mask and pull it up more. He does the same with mine. When we pull apart, out masks are off. His brown, curly locks are messy and his eyes are a chocolate brown. I look into them and smile. innocence. I smile and place my hands in his hair, kissing him again.

I want to buy a bike (motorcycle) but insurance is ridiculous. I'm 24 almost 25 in two weeks (which is why I have waited so long to get a bike thinking my insurance would drop like everyone says). I already have a license and took a safety motorcycle class. I have rode dirt bikes all my life and now want to get a sportbike. At this point I regret making a claim and wish i could turn back the clock. I am being forced into a box and it looks shady. Three weeks ago my 2005 Cadillac STS was involved in a parking lot flood where the water rose and filled the floors of my car by about 4 inches. All us neighbors had cleaning parties using a wet vac and baking and toweling are cars in the sun over the next few days letting our vehicles dry out. On my car everything works like a dream as it did before with the exception of a 'check stability control' notice that comes on when I start the car. I have been driving the car fine since the flood and decided maybe I should make a claim to fix this error that pops up on the dash when i start the car. From the time I dropped it off at the dealer it has been all negative. Right away the dealer was negative and telling me it's the end of the world with my car, everything is ruined and it will probably be a total loss. He got the adjuster for my insurance company out there and it looks like it will be put in to the total loss category. No i am just asking the insurance company to forget everything and drop the claim because the damage is not that extreme and i dont want to lose my car. I am told at this point it is too late. Is that true? My neighbors are floored by this, i have been driving it around for a few weeks just fine and the car still looks new With only 62000 miles on it. I can't help from thinking that something suspicious is going on here. Do they stand to make a nice profit by totalling my vehicle and then replacing one module for a 1000 or so and having a perfect car with all systems working? Also the lady from the claims office said the car had to be 80% damaged for it to be a total loss. I asked her if this was based on speculative problems that they think may occur in the future because of the water, or based on actual damage now? She said it had to be actual damage now but couldn't give me any details from the adjuster yet. Can I demand that the adjuster list everything that he thinks has been damaged to my car (which I am convinced he will have to be creative to do so)? The car as i said drives wonderful, I checked the fluids on my own (fine), and the car looks new. Do I have any recourse here? I just want the car fixed for the one problem, i dont want to lose the car, and at this point I don't even care about having insurance fix the one problem, but again I am told it is too late to go backwards and drop this entire issue. Hi we've been with USAA for over 10 yrs now for our Auto/Recreation insurance company. This month on our bill i noticed our rates went up by 35+ dollars per month. Hi. On April first, my neighbor hit my dad's car in our neighborhood. Our garages are facing each other, and my dad was going backwards to get out of our garage. He was already in the street and he was ready to go in his way. Suddenly, our neighbor back out from her garage very fast and hit the driver door of my car. She didn't stay in that position, she moved and my dad did the same. The white bumper of her van had no visible damages, but my door needs to be replaced. I called my insurance to report the accident. In the night, when she returned home, we asked for her insurance, but she refused. We called the police and she agreed to give us her insurance information. In fact, she wrote the information herself. I called her insurance(Geico) the next day, and she had already made a claim, and she only said she didn't hit my car; she didn't give more details. My dad gave his version of the accident with a lot of details, but she didn't do it. Her Insurance tried to contact her, but there is no answer from her. I see her everyday, so I am sure is not responding on purpose. Now, her insurance called me and told me that because she is not responding, there is no way to confirm she was involved in the accident. therefore, they denied liability. UK Car insurance in-between switching cars?

To keep things simple I am calling the current car I have Car A and the new car as Car B. I have insurance that runs out on CAR A in 2 months time which I want to keep on the basis that I don't want to lose my no claims bonus for this current year by cancelling the insurance. I was planning to switch cars in 2 months anyway but have found CAR B at a very competitive price with all the extras I need. (Car B comes taxed and MOTd). I currently cant change my policy from car A to car B as the provider says the update will increase my premium to over 2000 just for the remaining 2 months! I am a young driver so I am not able to get temporary car insurance either. My question is what are my options other than simply buying car B now and letting it sit on the driveway for 2 months waiting for my current policy to expire? E.g.is it possible to take out insurance on car B without NCB now and add ncb 2 months after the policy has started? Any other loop holes you clever poeple can think of?
