theme in my writing i only just now realized: using a unique nickname to indicate closeness/affection between two characters that others don't have
#when im writing the na bros i always have al call his brother 'mattie' unless theyre angry at each other while no one else does#& in one of my maaany wips with rusame it's a plot point that ivan 'hates that guy' but has a nickname for him no one else ever uses#amelia still calls matilda 'mar' from childhood & vinny's brothers still call him 'enzo'#while nobody BUT his brothers even know felix as 'felice'#rainstone has all sorts of familial nicknames that disappear or change meaning as they go along#theres a not-even-story-just-bits&pieces i was poking at where the repeated theme#is translations/mistranslations & the characters using nicknames their own languages wouldnt think of#idk what this indicates abt me. i just noticed it's become a trend with me#writeblr
