i showed my parents some pages from house of leaves where things get especially fucked up and all they had to say were variatons of “thats so Stupid” or “thats such a waste of paper” or “why would you want to read this??” or “why would anyone think to do this??” and when i said dont you think its cool?? they just pulled the faces they pull when they dont like something thats slightly to the left of normal and went “no not really” like

ARE YOU NOT INTERESTED?? ARE YOU PERHAPS UNABLE TO ANALYSE ANYTHING BEYOND A SURFACE LEVEL??
