Reposted from @melinatedconscioussociety - The scandal of wealthy parents paying money to a figure to bribe elite college and university coaches to admit their kids — or paying folk to take the ACT and SAT tests for their children — is corrupt and immoral. But let me tell you what’s far worse and far more corrupt and immoral: exploiting young (mostly black) athletes who bring in millions of dollars yearly into the coffers of their colleges and universities while getting little more than an education (and often not even that) while coaches reap millions of dollars in contracts and financial reward from sneaker companies while the players risk life and limb and get little financial benefit and huge penalties for offending the slightest rules.
