though. it's not the same as what you're talking about, but thinking on it... correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't eichi kind of approach trickstar in this sort of manner? like he enjoyed being their adversary or rival of sorts because his opposition cultivated them as idols. iirc he described it something like trickstar needing tending to bloom into flowers. and the fact that they didn't obey him is what made them so exciting as an idol group
